Historical Committee MENNONITE ALPHABET SOUP: A GUIDE TO MENNONITE ACRONYMS The following shortcuts are often used by old-timers and church bureaucrats to refer to institutions that carry long names. Until the recent merger, these organizations were lodged in, or related to, two U.S. bodies--Mennonite Church and General Conference Mennonite Church, and one Canadian body--Conference of Mennonites in Canada. Since the birth of Mennonite Church USA in 2001, and Mennonite Church Canada in 2000, a fresh harvest of acronyms has been produced.
