Burkey.-Peter, youngest son of Joseph and Barbara (Eigsti) Burkey, was born in Roanoke, Ill., July 8, 1867; passed away at the home of his son (John), Oct. 21, 1947; aged 80 y. 3 m. 13 d. In 1940 he suffered a stroke, from which he never fully recovered. As a young child he moved to Milford, Nebr., with his parents. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and united with the Mennonite Church. In 1887 he was united in marriage to Mary Steider, who predeceased him. To this union were born 10 sons and 3 daughters. One infant son, one daughter (Viola), and another son (Alvin, Milford, Nebr.) also preceded him in death. In 1911 he was married to Phoebe Sutter, who died in 1943. To this union was born one son (Irvin). Surviving are 9 sons (John, Joseph, Arthur, William, Edward, Raymond, Elmer, and Lester, all of Milford; and Irvin, Broken Bow, Nebr.), 2 daughters (Clara Hostetler, Milford, Nebr.; and Emma Hostetler, Filer, Idaho), 3 stepchildren (Dan Sutter, Milford, Nebr.; Lee Sutter, Kouts, Ind.; and Lydia Wittrig, Hopedale, Ill.), one aged sister (Fannie Saltzman, of Milford), 49 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Milford A.M. Church, Oct. 24, in charge of L. 0. Schlegel, assisted by W. A. Eicher and Ezra Roth. Text: Num. 23:10. Interment was made in the Milford A.M. Cemetery.

Gindlesperger.-Sue, daughter of Emanuel and Fannie (Miller) Eash, was born in Conemaugh Twp., Somerset Co., Pa., July 18, 1871; died in the Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, Pa., Oct. 8, 1947; aged 76 y. 2 m. 20 d. On March 11, 1900 she was married to Amos Hershberger, who preceded her in death on July 23, 1918. On Feb. 15, 1920 she was married to Jacob Gindlesperger, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Harry Weirich), one stepson (Cloyd Gindlesperger), 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 6 great-step-grandchildren, and 2 sisters (Mrs. Josiah Blough and Mrs. Fannie Miller). On Jan. 16, 1898 she united with the Blough Mennonite Church, Hollsopple, Pa., where she was active in sewing circle and Sunday school work. She attended services regularly until sickness entered the home and prevented her doing so. Funeral services were conducted Oct. 11 at the home and at the Blough Church, in charge of John Lehman, James Saylor, and Harry C. Blough. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Groff.-Aaron L., son of John L. and Barbara (Leaman) Groff, was born near Strasburg, Pa., April 7, 1873; passed away at his late home in Bareville, Pa., after one year's illness, Sept, 26, 1947; aged 74 y. 5 m. 19 d. On Nov. 29, 1894 he was united in marriage to Lizzie Groff, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter (Alma Matilda-Mrs. James S. Rudy) and 6 grandchildren. One son (Ralph) predeceased him in infancy. On Nov. 29, 1921 he was ordained to the office of deacon to serve the Mellinger and Stumptown congregations. He was interested in the work of the Lord and took a special interest in the work of the Oreville Old People's Home, of which he served as trustee and secretary for a number of years. Funeral services were conducted at his late home, Sept. 29, by David L. Landis and Martin R. Hershey and at the Stumptown Mennonite Church, Bird in-Hand, Pa., by Lloyd Eby, Elmer G. Martin, and Jacob T. Harnish. Texts: Acts 6:1-8; II Tim. 4:7. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Hartzler.-Chancy A., son of the late John J. Hartzler and Magdalena Mast, was born in St. Joseph Co., Mich., May 5, 1876; passed away at the Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, Ill., after a brief illness, Oct. 15, 1947 ; aged 71 y. 5 m. 10 d. On Dec. 23, 1900 he was unitad in marriage to Mary Neuenschwander, who survives. Also surviving are one son (John D., Roanoke, Ill.), 3 grandchildren, 3 brothers (Ira, Harrisonville, Mo.; Joe D., Flanagan, Ill.; Lee J., Goshen, Ind.), and 2 sisters (Mrs. Mary King, Garden City, Mo.; and Mrs. W. J. Eigsti, Buda, Ill.). One sister (Sarah) and one brother (Samuel) preceded him in death. At an early age he moved, with his father's family, to Cass Co., Mo., where he grew to manhood. On May 5, 1893 he confessed Christ and began to take an active part in Sunday-school work, showing a vital interest in spiritual affairs. On Oct. 22, 1906, at the Sycamore Grove Church, Garden City, Mo., he was ordained to preach the Gospel. The following six years he served the Kansas City Mission, acting as superintendent for two years. In January, 1913 he accepted the invitation of the Willow Springs congregation, Tiskilwa, Ill., to serve as pastor. On July 5, 1914 he was ordained bishop, in which capacity he continued to labor faithfully except for an eighteen-month period, during 1927-28, when he resided at Goshen, Ind. His spiritual discernment and ready counsel were highly respected in the home, the church, the community. Memorial services were held Oct. 18 at the home, in charge of Henry King, who read I. Cor. 15:1-22 and Rom. 1:16 and briefly presented the Gospel of Christ. Funeral services were then held at the Willow Springs Chnrch, in charge of Harold Zehr, assisted by Ira Eigsti. Text: II Tim. 4:1-8. The body was interred in the Willow Springs Cemetery.

Martin.-Jacob S., son of the late Daniel W. and Rebecca (Shank) Martin, was born near Hagerstown, Md., May 28, 1896; passed away at the Washington Co., Md., Hospital, Aug. 22, 1947; aged 51 y. 2 m. 24 d. Death resulted from a heart ailment following an appendectomy. Surviving are 6 brothers (Menno, Leroy, Daniel, Lewis, Nathan, and Irvin), and 4 sisters (Rhoda Eshleman, Ruth Miller, Edna Eby, and Esther Lehman). He was a member of the Salem Reformed Church. He delighted in maintaining a personal touch with relatives and friends in distant communities. Funeral services were held Aug. 24 at the Reiff Church, Hagerstown, in charge of Gordon Sperry. Text: Ps. 84. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Schrock.-Jerry Lee, three-day old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schrock, Cedarville, Ind., was buried in the Leo, Ind., Cemetery on Sept. 21. Graveside services were in charge of S. J. Miller.

Sharer.-Terry David Sharer was born May 16, 1947, at Willamina, Oreg., died Oct. 12, 1947; aged 4 m. 26 d. Surviving are his parents, one sister, his grandparents (Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Sharer and Mr. Durfee), and a number of other relatives and friends. Although his stay was short, he will be missed; yet God's ways are best. Funeral services were held Oct. 15 at the Sheridan, Oreg., Mennonite Church, in charge of Raymond Mishler and D. F. Shank. Burial was made in the Sheridan Mennonite Cemetery.

Succow.-Hugo A. Succow was born in New Orleans, La., Jan. 9, 1871; died at Akers, La., Sept. 20, 1947; aged 76 y. 8 m. 11 d. Death resulted from arteriosclerosis. Surviving are his widow (Agnes Succow), 2 daughters (Mrs. James F. Allen and Mrs. Laten Bridges, both of Akers) and one son (Hugo A., Jr., Akers, La.). He was received into the Akers Mennonite Church four months previous to his death. These four months were a strong testimony to what Christ can do in making it possible to bear pain without complaint, even with joy and peace of mind and soul. Funeral services were conducted by Henry J. Tregle, Jr.

Suter.-Pearl, daughter of Mrs. Mary (Heatwole) Showalter and the late Jacob D. Showalter, was born near Dayton, Va., July 31, 1890; passed away at her home, in the same community, Sept. 26, 1947 ; aged 57 y. 1 m. 26 d. Death followed an illness of eight weeks. She was a member of the Mennonite Church, a Sunday-school teacher and church worker. In 1912 she was united in marriage to Laurence E. Suter, who survives. Also surviving are 4 children (Mrs. Hayward Thurman, Silver Springs, Md.; Harold D., Dayton, Va.; Mrs. Roy A. Heatwole, Keezletown, Va.; and Richard, at home), her aged mother, 10 grandchildren, 4 sisters (Mrs. J. A. Burkholder, North Lima, Ohio; Mrs. Fred Conrad, Tuscon, Ariz.; Mrs. Dan Showalter, Dayton, Va.; and Mrs. Claude Coakley, Harrisonburg, Va.), and one brother (John, Chicago, Ill.). Funeral services were held at Weaver's Church, Dale Enterprise, Va., in charge of S. H. Rhodes, Daniel Lehman, and M. J. Heatwole. Interment was made in the near-by cemetery,

Weaver.-Harvey J., son of Jacob and Mary (Hostetter) Weaver, was born in Holmes Co., Ohio, Nov. 19, 1882; died at Berlin, Ohio, aged 64 y. 10 m. 7 d. Death resulted from heart trouble. On Sept. 21, 1902 he was united in marriage to Barbara Sommers, who preceded him in death on July 2, 1918. To this union were born 5 children (Elmer, and Mrs. George Miller, both of Millersburg, Ohio; Mrs. Earl P. Bunting, Massillon, Ohio; and two sons who died in infancy). On Feb. 5. 1920 he was united in marriage to Susanna Kandel, who survives. To this union were born 4 children (Mildred, Akron, Pa.; Orus, Dorothy, and Edith, at home). Besides his widow and 7 children there survive 3 grandchildren and 2 sisters (Mrs. David Schnell, Millersburg, Ohio; and Mrs. Joseph Styer, Sullivan, Ohio). One brother (Alvin) predeceased him. Early in life he accepted Christ and united with the Mennonite Church. He was a Sunday-school teacher for a number of years. He had deep concern for the spiritual needs of others and was a man of prayer. Funeral services were held at the Berlin Mennonite Church, Sept, 29, in charge of S. W. Sommer and D. D. Miller. Text: Phil. 1:21. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Yoder.-Amelia, daughter of Stephen and Lucy (Miller) Yoder, was born near Kalona, Iowa, Feb. 13, 1881; passed away at her home, in the same community, Oct. 9, 1947; aged 66 y. 7 m. 26 d. Death followed a major operation. In her youth she united with the Mennonite Church and at the time of her death was a member of the Lower Deer Creek congregation, near Kalona. On Jan. 28, 1909 she was united in marriage to Jonas Y. Yoder, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Lester), one grandchild, 2 brothers (William S. and John S.), 2 sisters (Lena-Mrs. Ben J. Miller and Kate-Mrs. Mose Mishler, Kalona, Iowa), and many other relatives and friends. One sister (Ida) and 3 infant children predeceased her. She was a dutiful mother and a kind and helpful neighbor. Funeral services were held at the Lower Deer Creek Church on Oct. 11, in charge of John Garber, John Y. Swartzendruber, and Joe Hershberger.

Clemmer.-Lizzie K., daughter of the late Enos and Sarah (Kulp) Moyer, died at her home in Souderton, Pa., Oct. 18, 1947; aged 72 y. 8 m. 10 d. She had been bedfast since December, 1946, when she suffered a stroke. Another stroke several weeks preceding her death brought on her rapid decline. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Souderton district. With her husband, Michael R. Clemmer, she united with the Souderton Mennonite Church in the second year of their marriage. In her earlier years she was a primary teacher in the Souderton Mennonite Sunday School, where the teaching at that time was entirely from the German Bible. The prayer circles around her bed during the past year have strengthened many a young Christian. Surviving are her husband, 2 sons (Willis and Lester, both of Souderton), 2 daughters (Lillian-Mrs. Elmer Detweiler; Esther-Mrs. Russell Musselman, both of Souderton), one half sister (Mrs. Paul Allebach, Souderton; one half brother (Jacob M. Moyer, Souderton, Pa.), 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. One stillborn son preceded her in death. A short funeral service was conducted at the Hunsicker Funeral Home, Souderton, Pa., Oct. 22, by Wilson R. Moyer. Further services were held at the Souderton Mennonite Church, in charge of Elmer M. Moyer. Text: Rev. 21:4. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Forrey. - Susan Brubaker was born near Landis Valley, Aug. 22, 1864; died at her home, near Mt. Joy, Pa., after a few weeks' illness, Oct. 9, 1947; aged 83 y. 1 m. 17 d. She was the wife of Amos N. Forrey. Surviving are 4 daughters and a number of grandchildren. She was a member of the Chestnut Hill congregation, Columbia, Pa., for many years. Funeral services were held at the Landisville, Pa., meetinghouse, in charge of Raymond Charles and Henry Lutz. Burial was made in the Silver Spring Cemetery.

Frankhouser.-Diller G., son of the late Daniel C. and Mary T. Frankhouser, was born Dec. 17, 1877 ; died at the St. Joseph Hospital, Lancaster, Pa., Oct. 17, 1947; aged 69 y. 10 m. On Dec. 13, 1806 he was married to Fannie E. Martin, who predeceased him on Feb. 24, 1930. Three children predeceased him in infancy and one daughter (Edith-Mrs. Leroy Shirk) died in 1939. Surviving are 4 children (Lizzie and Fannie, both of Lancaster; Daniel, Bowmansville, Pa.; and Elva-Mrs. Milton G. Huber, Willow Street, Pa.), 13 grandchildren, 10-great-grandchildren, one brother, and 2 sisters. Funeral services were held at the Groff Funeral home, in charge of Earl Wert, and at the East Chestnut Street Church, in Lancaster, in charge of Stoner Krady and Earl Mosemann. Text: I Cor. 15:55. Interment was made in the Mellinger Cemetery.

Lefever.- Irene A., daughter of the late Frederick and Amanda Rankin, was born May 4, 1888; died at the Lancaster, Pa., General Hospital, Oct. 15, 1947; aged 59 y. 5 m. 11 d. Death resulted from cerebral hemorrhage, following three-month illness. She was a member of the North End Mennonite Church, Lancaster, Pa. Surviving are 4 children (Theresa K.-Mrs. Charles W. Miller, Jr.; Elmer E. and Betty J., both at home; and Lloyd W., New York City) and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services were in charge of D. Stoner Krady and Earl Wert. Text: Rev. 14:13.

Miller.-Fannie, daughter of Daniel J. and Katie (Miller) Miller, was born in Holmes Co., Ohio, Aug. 21, 1892; died at her home, near Hutchinson, Kans., Oct. 21, 1947; aged 55 y. 2 m. On Sept. 17, 1910 she was married to William Henry Kauffman, who preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1918. One infant son and her mother also predeceased her. On Jan. 20, 1921 she was married to Christ A. Miller, who survives. Also surviving are 6 children (Abe, Anna-Mrs. Clifford Miller, Elizabeth-Mrs. Wayne Yoder, and Harly Hall, Kalona, Iowa; Kathryn-Mrs. Rollin Gingerich, Parnell, Iowa; and William, at home), 5 stepchildren (Lizzie-Mrs. Tobe Troyer, Topeka, Ind.; Harley P., Middlebury, Ind.; Harvey C., Scott City, Kans.; Katie-Mrs. Joe Gingerich and Christy C., South Hutchinson, Kans.), 32 grandchildren, her aged father, 2 brothers, one sister, and many other relatives. She was a member of the Yoder, Kans., Mennonite Church at the time of her death. She lived an exemplary Christian life in her home and among her friends and was a loving mother. Many relatives and friends from Ohio, Indiana, and Iowa attended the funeral services held at the Yoder Church, in charge of Harry A. Diener, assisted by Andrew A. Boutrager. Text: James 4:14.

Moser.-William A., son of the late Abraham P. and Marie (Welty) Moser, was born near Dalton, Ohio, Sept. 23, 1867; passed away in the Wayne Co. Hospital, near Wooster, Ohio, after a lingering illness, Oct. 20, 1947; aged 80 y. 27 d. In his youth he accepted Christ, and united with the Mennonite Church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Kidron, Ohio, congregation. He spent his entire life in the same community; after the death of his parents he made his home at various times with his brothers and sisters and other relatives. Surviving are 3 brothers (John A., Dalton, Ohio; Jacob A., Orrville, Ohio; and Daniel A., Massillon, Ohio) and one sister (Mrs. Anna Schneck, Rittman, Ohio). One brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at the Devoigns Funeral Home, Mt. Eaton, Ohio, and at the Kidron Church, in charge of Allen Bixler and Isaac Zuercher. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

Sherman.-J. Oliver, son of Henry and Catherine (Kurtz) Sherman, was born in Elkhart Co., Ind., April 12, 1883; died at the Elkhart General Hospital, Sept. 27, 1947; aged 64 y. 5 m. 15 d. On Aug. 3, 1905 he was married to Sadie Yoder, who survives. Also surviving are 2 children (Mrs. Treva Yontz, of Elkhart; and Romayne, of Goshen, Ind.), 5 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. He was a member of the Olive Mennonite Church, near Elkhart, for about twenty-two years, and was faithful in attending services whenever possible. He was an invalid for about two and one-half years. Funeral services were conducted at the Olive Church by D. A. Yoder and C. A. Shank.

Toman.-Elsie Biehn was born at Freeport, Ont., Dec. 18, 1879: died at the Humboldt Hospital on Sept. 29, 1947; aged 67 y. 9 m. 11 d. On March 26, 1902 she was married to Manassa Toman. In 1905 they moved to Guernsey, Sask. Surviving are 2 sons (Clarence, of Guernsey; and Willard, Waterloo, Ont.), 2 daughters (Mary-Mrs. Allen Cressman, and Loretta-Mrs. Wesley Shantz, both of Guernsey), and 12 grandchildren. Two daughters (Vera and Gertrude) predeceased her. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Sharon Mennonite Church, in charge of Dan Schlabach and Stanley Shantz. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Ulrich.-Lena M.. daughter of Andrew and Fannie Smith, was born at Tiskilwa, Ill., Sept. 27, 1876; died at her home, Lowpoint, Ill., after a three-month illness, Oct. 16, 1947; aged 71 y. 19 d. On Dec. 10, 1893 she was united in marriage to Peter M. Ulrich, who survives. Also surviving are 12 children (Elsie Tuttle, Parma, Idaho; Peter 0., Alvin A., and Flossie Keller, Eureka, Ill.; Viola Roberts, Buda, Ill.; Harry A., and Ervin F., Prentice, Wis.; Emma Stoler, Peoria, Ill.: Harley E., Zion, Ill.; Merlin A., Lowpoint, Ill.; Lillie Hauler, Pekin, Ill.; and Opal Gries, Metamora, Ill.), 47 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one brother (Alvin, of Buda), one sister (Mrs. Andy Bachman, of Eureka), and a number of other relatives and friends. One son (Omer M.) preceded her in death. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the home, in charge of David Ulrich, and at the Roanoke Mennonite Church, Eureka, Oct. 19, in charge of Ezra B. Yordy and J. L. Harnish.

Weirick.-Peter L., son of Daniel and Lydia (Plank) Weirich, was born in Lagrange Co., Ind., Nov. 10, 1859; died of cerebral hemorrhage, at Clarence, N.Y., Oct. 21, 1947; aged 87 y. 11 m. 5 d. In 1888 he was united in marriage to Sarah Gingerich, who predeceased him. To this union was born one daughter (Amanda-Mrs. Schmucker), who also predeceased him in 1938. On March 13, 1892 he was married to Susan Mishler. To this union were born 6 children. Surviving are his widow, 4 sons (Edward, William, Jacob, and Chester), one daughter (Sylvia -Mrs. Albert Stoll), 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a large number of other relatives and friends. One son (Clarence) preceded him in death. In 1896 he moved with his family to Wolford, N. Dak. In 1925 they moved to Clarence, N.Y. As a young man he united with the Mennonite Church, of which he was a member at the time of his death. Funeral services were held at the Clarence Center Mennonite Church, Oct. 24, in charge of D. Edward Diener, assisted by Moses Roth and Alvin Jantzi. Text, chosen by the deceased: Heb. 4 :9.

Albrecht. ­ Elizabeth Ropp was born at Wellesley, Ont., Oct. 4, 1861; passed away Nov. 1, 1947; aged 86 y. 27 d. On Dec. 12, 1889, she was united in marriage to Joseph Albrecht, who survives. Also surviving are 5 sons and 2 daughters (Rachel-Mrs. John Gunden and Moses, Bay Port, Mich.; Dave, Emanuel, and Herbert, Pigeon, Mich.; Edwin, Woodburn, Ind.; and Clara-Mrs. Lewis Garretson, Sheffield, Ill.), 2 sisters (Mrs. Jacob Steckley, Milverton, Ont.; and Mrs. Jacob Albrecht, Pigeon, Mich.), one brother (Moses, Kalona, Iowa), 38 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one foster daughter (Mrs. Victor Webb, Fair Oaks, Ind.). In her youth she accepted Christ and was a member of the Conservative A.M. Church. Funeral services were held Nov. 3 at the Pigeon River Church, in charge of Orie Kauffman, Raymond Byler, and Earl J. Maust. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Bowman.-Kenneth Walter, 21- month-old son of Walter H. and Sadie (Martin) Bowman, Bally, Pa., died Oct. 31, 1947, in the Allentown, Pa. Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a fall from an attic window to the pavement below. Surviving are his parents, one brother (Leonard Ray), 3 grandparents (Martin and Maggie Bowman and David S. Martin). Funeral services were held at the Bowmansville, Pa., Mennonite Church, in charge of Edward H. Swanson, assisted by Moses Gehman. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Fisher.-Sylvia M., daughter of Aaron K. and Mattie (Peight) Fisher, was born March 19, 1901; died Oct. 17, 1947; aged 46 y. 6 m. 28 d. She was a patient at the Lancaster, Pa., General Hospital from Feb. 12 until her death. Surviving are her parents, one sister (Sadie-Mrs. Lawrence Cutman), other relatives, and many friends. She was a member of the Conestoga A.M. Church, Morgantown, Pa. Funeral services were conducted Oct. 20 at the home by David Yoder and at the church by Ira and Christian Kurtz and John and Roy Glick. Texts: 11 Peter 3:13; 1 John 5:11-13; Titus 2:13; Rev. 1:3. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Gingerich.-Mattie I., daughter of John L. and Mary (Jutzi) Mayer, was born in Ontario, Canada, Feb. 7, 1885; died at her home in Kalona, Iowa, Oct. 31, 1947; aged 62 y. 8 m. 24 d. She was in good health until the last nine years of her life, when she suffered periods of sickness affecting her lungs and heart. In April, 1908, she came with her parents from Canada to Pigeon, Mich., where she lived until her marriage to Ben G. Gingerich on Oct. 7, 1920, after which she moved to Kalona, Iowa, with her husband. While still living in Canada she accepted the Lord as her Saviour. Surviving are her husband, 3 sons (Floyd B., Delmar Ray, and Clifford John, all of Kalona, Iowa), one stepdaughter (Mildred Marie-Mrs. Raymond Zook, Riverside, Iowa), 4 grandchildren, 2 brothers (Sol and Ezra, Pigeon, Mich.), one sister (Lydia-Mrs. Marvin E. Miller, Fentress, Va.), and many other relatives and friends. Her parents, one sister (Emma-Mrs. Joel Widrick), one infant daughter (Ella Mae Blanche), and one stepson (Raymond Glen) preceded her in death. She was kindhearted and helpful, ever doing acts of kindness for her family and for others. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 3 at the home and at the Fairview Church, Kalona, in charge of E. G. Householter.-Anna, daughter of Christian and Katherine (Engle) Schertz, was born in Tazewell Co., Ill., June 16, 1863; died at her home. Near Eureka, Ill., Sept. 23, 1947; aged 84 y. 3 m. 7 d. During the last seven years she suffered from the effects of a stroke. On Jan. 25, 1883, she was united in marriage to Debolt Householter, who survives. Also surviving are 5 children (Katherina-Mrs. Amos Neuhauser, Peter, Mary-Mrs. John Neuhauser, all of Eureka; Ida-Mrs. Austin Roth, Morton, Ill.; and Emma-Mrs. Wilbur Roth, Gibson City, Ill.), 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. As a young girl she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Metamora, Ill. Mennonite Church, of which she was a member at the time of her death. A home-loving woman, she filled a large place in the home, community, and church. Funeral services were conducted Sept.. 25 by Ezra B.Yordy at the home , and by Ben Esch and Henry R. Schertz, nephews of the deceased, at the Roanoke Church. Services at the cemetery were in charge of John L. Harnish.

Keith.-Charles, son of Elizabeth (Eshleman) and the late Thomas Keith, was born June 4, 1903; died at his home, in West Willow, Pa., June 15,1947; aged 44 y. 11 d. Death was caused from asthma and a heart condition. He was a member of the New Danville Mennonite Church, Lancaster, Pa. On April 11, 1923, he was united in marriage to Ada S. Harnish, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters (Verna Mae and Dorothy Elizabeth, at home), his mother, and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Willow Street, Pa., Mennonite Church, June 18, in charge of Stoner Krady and Maris Hess. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Stonesypher.-Edith M., daughter of Ella and the late Edwin Steif, was born June 26, 1911; died at the home of her mother, at East Petersburg, Pa., after a two-week illness, Sept. 21, 1947; aged 36 y. 2 m. 25 d. At the age of seventeen she gave her heart to the Lord and united with the Mennonite Church. Surviving are her mother, her husband (James Stonesypher, Lancaster, Pa.), 7 children (Betty J., Joan E., Jane E., David C., Dorothy L., Ruth M., and J. Warren, all at home), 2 brothers and 4 sisters (Milton W., Alma-Mrs. Oliver Forrey, Edna-Mrs. Norman Herr, Paul, Mary-Mrs. Leroy Ebersole, Esther-Mrs. Raymond Bradley). Her father and 5 children preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 28 at the Groff Funeral Parlors, Lancaster, Pa., by Frank Kreider, and at the East Petersburg, Pa., Mennonite Church, by John Gochnauer, John Miller, and David High. Burial was made in the Salunga Mennonite Cemetery.

Wideman.-Moses E. Wideman was born at Waterloo, Ont., July 21, 1858; passed away at the home of his daughter (Mrs. William Bechler), Pigeon, Mich., Oct. 24, 1947; aged 89 y. 3 m. 3 d. He was in fairly good health until about two years before his death. He moved to Michigan in about 1890 and on Feb. 16, 1892, was united in marriage to Mary Ropp. They made their home on a farm in Winsor Twp. (which was all wild land at that time) until 1926, when they moved to the village of Pigeon. He was a charter member of the Mennonite Church of that locality. Surviving are his widow, 3 sons (Afred, Elkton, Mich.; Wesley, Pigeon, Mich.; and Roy, Flint, Mich.), 3 daughters (Mrs. David Swartzendruber, Mrs. John Shelter, and Mrs. William Bechler, all of Pigeon, Mich.), 27 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters (Mrs. Magdalene Reist, of Pigeon; and Mrs. Israel Dettweiler, Caro, Mich.), and one brother (Henry, of Pigeon). One son (Edwin) predeceased him in 1906. Funeral services were in charge of Donald King.

Yoder.-Sarah M., daughter of Issac and Sarah (Mast) Hartzler, was born near Holmesville, Ohio, May 3, 1871; died at her home, near Smithville, Ohio, Oct. 31, 1947; aged 76 y. 5 m. 28 d. At an early age she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Oak Grove Amish Mennonite Church, of which she was a member at the time of her death. On Jan. 21, 1896, she was married to John S. Yoder, who survives. Also surviving are 4 children (Howard, Wooster, Ohio; Mary Miller, Barberton, Ohio; Ruth Litwiller, of Wooster; and Martha, of Barberton), 7 grandchildren, and 2 brothers (Joseph, Sterling, Ohio; and Elias, Smithville, Ohio). One sister, 2 brothers, and 2 grandchildren preceded her in death. She lived a life of quiet devotion to her God and unselfish service to her family, never failing to sacrifice her own comfort to minister to the comfort of friend or stranger. No words describe her better than those of Prov. 27:27, 28. Funeral services were held at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, near Smithville, Ohio, Nov. 3, in charge of V.M. Gerig and I. W. Royer.

Adams.-Rosetta Marie, daughter of Raymond and Mary Adams, was born at Sarasota, Fla., Aug. 28, 1946; passed away Nov. 4, 1947; aged 1 y. 2 m. 6 d. At the age of six months he became ill and two weeks before her death submitted to an operation. Surviving are her parents, one brother (John Eldon), and 2 grandparents (Joseph and Nancy Hostetler, Kalona, Iowa). Funeral services were held at the Pinecraft Church, Sarasota, on Nov. 7, in charge of Otho Shenk and Frank Stoltzfus. Text: Judges 13:12. Interment was made in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bacher.-Christian, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Krabill) Bacher, was born in Stark Co., Ohio, Feb. 11, 1859, died at the home of his niece (Mrs. Byron Schmucker), in Stark Co., Nov. 7, 1947; aged 88 y. 8 m. 26 d. Death resulted from a stroke. He spent his entire life in the same community, living at the home of his niece the last seven years of his life. At the age of seventeen he accepted Christ as his Saviour and was received into the fellowship of the Beech Menuonite Church, Louisville, Ohio, where he was a member until death. His brothers and sisters (Joseph, John, Daniel, Barbara, and Katie), all younger than he, preceded him in death. Surviving are 6 nieces and a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Beech Church, with 0. N. Johns and John D. Miller in charge. Text: I Peter 5:5. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

Blough.-Mary, daughter of Tobias and Leah (Wingard) Weaver, was born near Johnstown, Pa., June 15, 1855: died Oct. 11, 1947; aged 92 y. 3 m. 26 d. She was united in marriage to John H. Blough. Surviving are 9 children, 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one brother (Alex Weaver). Four children preceded her in death. She united with the Weaver Mennonite Church, Johnstown, Pa., when she was young, and remained a member until death. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Hiram Wingard. Burial was made in the Richland Cemetery.

Garber.-M. Ellen, daughter of the late Solomon K. and Nancy (Hartzler) Plank, was born near Orrville, Ohio, March 20, 1863; passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, Pa., Oct. 5, 1947; aged 84 y. 6 m. 15 d. Death was caused by heart trouble and dropsy. In March, 1893, she was united in marriage to David Garber, of Goshen, Ind., who predeceased her in 1934. One infant son and daughter, and one son (Ethan) preceded them in death. Surviving are one son and 2 daughters (Verda-Mrs. Martin. E. Weaver, Annville, Pa.; John F., Alma, Ont.; and Ruth-Mrs. Amos R. Erb, Annville, Pa.), 17 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. In young womanhood she be came a Christian and united with the Mennonite Church. She was always interested in the work of the Church, having taught in Sunday-school when that work was still in its infancy, and later serving as the wife of a minister and bishop. For almost twenty years she lived at Harrisonburg, Va. Funeral services were conducted at the home of Martin E. Weaver by Robert Miller, at the Gingerich Church, near Annville, by Simon Bucher and Daniel Wert, at the Springdale Church, near Waynesboro, Va.. by Joseph W. Driver and Jason H. Weaver and at the grave, in the Springdale Cemetery, by Charles Grove. Text: Ps. 17:15.

Gingerich.-Loren Lee, son of Melvin and Verna (Roth) Gingerich, was born in Washington, Iowa, July 18, 1934; died at the Goshen, Ind., Hospital, Nov. 7, 1947; aged 13 y. 3 m. 20 d. He was seriously injured when an automobile struck the bicycle on which he was riding to deliver papers, and he passed away six hours later. In 1941 he moved with his parents to North Newton, Kans., and in 1947 to Goshen, Ind. He was baptized on May 25, 1947, and was a member of the Bethel College Mennouite Church, North Newton, Kans. Surviving are his parents and an older brother (Owen Jay). Funeral services were held in the Goshen College Chapel, Nov. 10, with S. C. Yoder, Lester Hostetler, and E. E. Miller participating. Interment was made in the Elkhart Prairie Cemetery.

Good.-Susan Elizabeth, daughter of Benjamin and Catherine (Holley) Hamilton, was born in Cullom, Ill., March 2, 1880; died at her home, Sheridan, Oreg., Oct. 10, 1947; aged 67 y. 7 m. 8 d. At the age of thirteen she united with the Mennonite Church, of which she remained a member until death. Her seat in church was seldom vacant until her health began to fail. At the age of four she moved with her parents from Illinois to Cherokee Co., Kans., where on Jan. 1, 1901, she was united in marriage to Emanuel E. Good, who survives. Also surviving are 8 children (Mary Goodman, Hillsboro, Oreg.; Earl, Ballston, Oreg.; David, Crabtree, Oreg.; Minnie, John, Martha, and Mabel, all of Sheridan, Oreg.). 9 grandchildren, 4 brothers (Ira and Edwin, of Kansas; John and Charles, Sheridan, Oreg.), and many other relatives and friends. One infant son (Paul Odessa) preceded her in death. She was a loving and faithful mother. Funeral services were held Oct. 14 at the Sheridan Church, in charge of Raymond Mishler and Max Yoder. Text: Ps. 23. Burial was made in the Sheridan Mennonite Cemetery.

Good.-Susie, daughter of the late Israel and Catherine (Burkhart) Musser, was born Dec. 3, 1880; passed away at her home near Bowmansville, Pa.; Oct. 27, 1947; aged 66 y. 10 m. 24 d. Since her youth she was a member of the Bowmansville, Pa., Mennonite Church, where she served as a Sunday-school teacher for tweny-five years and as president of the sewing circle for almost sixteen years. Surviving are her husband (William G. Good), 5 children (Katie-Mrs. Elmer Burkhart, Emma-Mrs. Walter Groff, Eva-Mrs. John Geigley, Edna-Mrs. Lake Martin, and Norman), 20 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 4 brothers (Isaac, Aaron, and Amos), and 2 sisters (Emma-Mrs. Garson Gehman and Isabella-Mrs. Joseph Bowman). Twin sons (Walter and William) and a number of other relatives preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church by Moses Gehman and Benjamin Weaver. Text: Prov. 31:10. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Litwiller.-Katie, daughter of Christian and Elisabeth (Orendorff) Eigsti, was born near Morton, Ill., April 5, 1869; passed away Nov. 5, 1947; aged 78 y. 7 m. On Jan. 31, 1889, she was united in marriage to Jonas Litwiller, who predeceased her three years ago. Surviving are 5 children (Elmer, Tremont, Ill.; Luella Staker, Groveland, Ill.; Albert, Morton, Ill.; Lester, Wooster, Ohio; Raymond, Camp Kilmcr, N.J.), 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (Jacob and Joseph, of Morton), 2 stepbrothers (Christ Yordy, Morton, Ill.; and Alvin Smith, Tiskilwa, Ill.), one sister (Mrs. Joe Schrock, Flanagan, Ill.), and one half sister (Mrs. Alvin Bachman, Upland, Calif.), and one stepsister (Mrs. Andrew Bachman, Roanoke, Ill.). One sister and 2 brothers preceded her in death. In her youth she confessed Christ as her Saviour and joined the Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church. She was quiet and unassuming, exemplifying her beliefs. Funeral services were held at the Morton Church, in charge of Simon Litwiller, Noah N. Roeschley and Paul Rupp. Interment was made in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, near Tremont, Ill.

Martin.-Edward, son of the late Michael and Salome (Kempf) Martin, was born in Johnson Co., Iowa, Aug. 2, 1880, died at his home, in Wellman, Iowa, Oct. 31, 1947; aged 67 y. 2 m. 29 d. Death resulted from heart trouble, from which he suffered for about six months. In his youth he confessed Christ and united with the Mennonite Church, of which he was a member at the time of his death. He served as a Sunday-school teacher for a number of years. On Nov. 29. 1906, he was united in marriage to Barbara Yoder, who survives. Also surviving are 7 children (Lula Mae-Mrs. Noah Brennenmn, Kalona, Iowa; William E., Emerson G., and Amy Leona-Mrs. Glen White, all of Wellman; Charles C., Milwaukee, Wis.; Robert E., Rock Island, Ill.; and Russell Dean, Parnell, Iowa), 16 grandchildren, 2 sisters (Mrs. John A. Yoder and Mrs. Koras Kinsinger, both of Parnell, Iowa), 3 brothers, Elmer and Ernest, of Parnell; and John, Iowa City, Iowa), and a large number of other relatives and friends. He will be missed as a husband and father in the home, as one who was ready to give counsel in the church, and for his readiness to help in time of need in the community. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 2 at the Wellman Church, by Edward Diener and George S. Miller. Burial was made in the West Union Cemetery. Text: John 11:35.

Nissley.-Anna, daughter of the late Levi R. and Lizzie L. Nissley, was born June 27, 1885; died at her home, Mt. Joy, Pa., Oct. 27, 1947; aged 62 y. 4 m. On Nov. 1, 1905, she was united in marriage to John B. Nissley, who survives. Also surviving are 6 children (Ivan, Vera, Anna Mae, John, at home; Kathryn-Mrs. David L. Hess, Marietta, Pa.; and Rhoda-Mrs. Aaron Longenecker, Florin, Pa.), 3 grandchildren, 2 brothers (Harry, Mt. Joy, Pa.; Christian, Lancaster, Pa.), and 2 sisters (Katie-Mrs. David Eby and Barbara-Mrs. Jacob Brubaker, both of Mt. Joy). In her youth she accepted Christ and served Him faithfully in her home, the Sunday-school and church. She was a member of the Chestnut Hill Mennonite Church, Columbia, Pa. Funeral services, in charge of Henry Lutz, Jacob and Raymond Charles, were held at her late home and at the Landisville, Pa., Mennonite Church. Text: Gen. 49:18. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Rittenhouse. -Henry F., son of the late George and Catharine (Freed) Rittenhouse, Franconia, Pa., passed away in the Grand View Hospital, where he had been a patient for several days, Sept. 7, 1947; aged 75 y. 11 m. 10 d. Death resulted from uremic poisoning. He was a member of the Franconia, Pa., Mennonite Church, where he served on the board of trustees for twenty-three years. All his life he lived on the farm where he was born. He was married to Lizzie (Bergey) Rittenhouse, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Harvey) and 3 grandchildren; an older son (Laaden) was killed in an accident eleven years ago. Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at the home and at the Franconia Church, in charge of Menno Souder, Elwood Derstine and John Lapp. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. Shafer.-Philip Milton, son of Joel and Mary (Arnold) Shafer, was born Aug. 25. 1868; died Nov. 3, 1947; aged 78 y. 2 m. 9 d. He was married to Mary W. Stahl, who preceded him in death ten years ago. Surviving are 2 sons (Thurlon, Sunbury, Pa.; and Milton R., Port Trevorton, Pa.), a number of grandchildren, one sister (Ida, Port Trevorton), 3 brothers (William and Harry, Port Trevorton; and Bank, Sunbury), and 5 stepbrothers (Ernest, Montgomery, Pa.; Charles, Boyd, Dewey, and Daniel, Port Trevorton, Pa.). At the time of his death he was a member of the Susquehanna Church, to which he belonged for more than thirty years. Harry Shreiner and John H. Reinard conducted the funeral services.
