Samuel H.
SAMUEL H. CROSSGROVE
Samuel H., son of Frank and Barbara Crossgrove, was born
June 28, 1880 near Centerville, Pa.and passed away very suddenly of a
heart
attack at the home of his daughter Mrs. Arlen Zimmerman, December
21,1947 at
the age 67 years, 5 months, and 23 days. When 16 years of age he came
to Archbold, Ohio
where he resided until his death. On March 4, 1909 he was united in
marriage
with Ida Nafziger, they sharing the joys and sorrows of life together
until
June 17, 1944. This union was blessed with 4 children: 1 son and 3
daughters:
Mildred (Mrs. Arlen Zimmerman), Ada
(Mrs. Orval Nofziger) and Marie (Mrs. Vernon Frey), all of this
vicinity.
He leaves to mourn his departure: his 3 daughters, 12
grandchildren, and 1 brother, Jacob T., of Archbold, besides a host of
relatives and friends. There preceded him m death; his companion, the
son who
died in infancy, parents, 5 sisters and 5 brothers.
When a young man he accepted Christ as his personal Savior,
uniting with the Central
Mennonite Church
and remained faithful until death. He was a kind and loving father and
neighbor
and will be missed by all who knew him.
There is no final parting
For all are in His care
And those who seem to leave us
Are waiting for us there,
Where we shall meet ones
And understand at last
That dawn is always waiting
After the night is past.
Card of Thanks
We wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who
comforted or assisted us in any way at the time of death and burial of
our
father. Mr. and Mrs. Arlen Zimmerman and Family, Mr. and Mrs. Orval
Nafziger
and Family, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon
Frey and Family.
