Katie J. (Schlabach) Mast, daugh-ter of Jacob and Susanna
(Beachy) Schlabach, was born Dec. 23, 1889, in Holmes County, Ohio; and
died Jan. 30, 1977, at the home of her daughter, Sarah, Mrs. Edward F.
Miller, near Kalona, Iowa; age 87 years, 1 month and 7 days. In her
youth she ac-cepted Christ as her Saviour, was baptized in the Old
Order Amish Church and faith-fully attended as long as heath permitted.
On Oct. 19, 1916, she was united in mar-riage to Menno D. Mast, at
Kokomo, Ind. To this union was born 3 sons and 4 daugh-ters: David,
Susanna, Andrew, Abraham, Mary (Mrs. Mark Hershberger), Sarah (Mrs.
Edward F. Miller), and Esther. Menno passed away Oct. 2, 1967, since
then she has made her home with her daughter, Esther in Kalona, who
faithfully took care of her as long as she could alone. Surviving are
four children, 1 son and 3 daughters, all of Kalona, also 21
grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Katie was preceded in death by
her husband, parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 sons, Andrew and
Abraham, and 1 daughter, Susanna.

MILLER.
- Anna (Schlabach) Miller, a daughter of David and Sarah
(Miller) Schla-bach, was born Nov. 8, 1890, in Indiana; died Nov. 2,
1977, at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 24 days, in the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Amos Yoder, near Grove City, Minn., following a lengthy
illness. She was a member of the O. O. Amish Church. She was united in
marriage to Adam Miller in 1917; they moved to the Kalona, Iowa, area
in 1941, her husband died in 1963, also one son preceded her. She is
survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters: Mrs. Amos (Sara) Yoder, Grove City,
Minn.; Mrs. Lovina Kauffman of Kalona, Iowa; Ervin Miller, Hartville,
Ohio; Mahlon A. Miller, Kalona; 16 grandchildren, 9
great-grandchildren. Also 2 brothers and 6 sisters: Levi and John
Schlabach, both of Hartville, Ohio; Mrs. Sam (Katie) Beachy, Sarasota,
Fla.; Mrs. Menno I. (Susan) Miller, Mrs. Jeff (Lovina) Gingerich, both
of Kalona; Mrs. Ammon (Lizzie) Miller, Millersburg, Ohio; Mrs. Al-len
(Abby) Miller, Sarasota, Fla.; and Mrs. Emanuel (Mattie) Hochstetler,
Kokomo, Ind. Her parents and 5 brothers and sisters died earlier.
Services were held Nov. 5, in the Glen Beachy home north of Kalona, by
Min. Morris Miller and Bish. Henry B. Miller, and Morris Swartzendruber
in Eng-lish. Burial in the Peter Miller Cemetery.

Ervin N.
Ervin N. Miller 65 Of Route No,
2 Archbold; was *prounounced
dead on arrival at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon Monday
evening
where he was taken by the Archbold Rescue Squad after suffering an
apparent
heart attack in his home. He was born near Arthur, Illinois,
living in the Archbold area most of his lifetime. He was employed at
Rich
Tractor Sales in Archbold for over 30 years, working part time since
his
retirement in 1973. He was a charter member of the Inlet Mennonite
Church near
Wauseon.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian; two sons, Ervin I.
Miller of Archbold and Marvin J. Miller of Defiance; six grandchildren; one
brother,
Elvan Miller of Wauseon and one sister , Mrs. Levi (Laura) Rupp of
Wauseon.
Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Central Mennonite
Church
with Rev .Dale Wyse and Rev. Charles Gautsche officiating. Interment
will be in
the Lockport
Cemetery. Short
Funeral Home is in
charge of the arrangements.

Ervin N. Miller was born near Arthur, Illinois
on August 9, 1911, to Isaac and Emma (Helmuth) Miller. He passed away
very
suddenly at his home near Archbold,
Ohio over 65 years later
on
January 17, 1977.
When he was a young child he came with his parents to the
Archbold Community and had lived here ever since. When Ervin was about
3 years
old his father was killed when he was struck by a train, and Ervin
learned to
assume responsibilities that would have normally been beyond his years.
Dependability became a characteristic of his life that was much
appreciated by
his family and friends. He worked for Rich Tractor Sales as a mechanic
for over
30 years. On February 27, 1934, Ervin was married to Vivian Eash. Their
home
was blessed with two sons, Ervin I. of Archbold, Ohio
and Marvin J. of Defiance,
Ohio and six
grandchildren. Also surviving
are one sister, Laura, (Mrs. Levi W. Rupp), and one brother, Elvan,
both of Wauseon, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
Why should I feel discouraged,
Why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely
and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion my
constant friend is He?
His eye is on the sparrow and I
know He watches me.

MILLER.-
Fannie, daughter of Eli M. and Mary (Troyer) Miller, was born
Apr. 16, 1900, in Douglas Co., Ill., and died in the Nancy J. Beachy
residence Arthur, Ill., on Sept. 20, 1977, at the age of 77 years, 4
months and 27 days. She was a member of the O. O. Amish Church, and
leaves to mourn her departure three brothers and two sisters: Joe E. of
Middlebury, Ind., Jake E. of Aroda, Va., Alvin E. of Nappanee, Ind.,
Mrs. Albert (Lizzie Ann) Leichty of Middlebury, Ind., and Mrs. Harley
(Tillie) Hochstetler of Millersburg, Ohio. She was preceded by her
parents, three brothers and three sisters. Services were held in the
Nancy Beachy residence on Sept. 23, Min. Albert Yoder of Millersburg,
Ohio and Bish. Steve Kauffman of Arthur. Burial in Otto Cemetery
½
mile south of Arthur.

MILLER.
- Menno I., son of Isaac and Sarah (Kauffman) Miller, was born
at Bakersville, Ohio, on Nov. 29, 1892, and died June 21, 1977, in his
home near Kalona, Iowa, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 22 days.
On Jan. 18, 1917, he was united in marriage to Susan Schlabach. He grew
up in Holmes County, Ohio; after his marriage they lived in Indiana
until 1952 when they moved to their Kalona home. He is survived by his
wife, 2 daugh-ters and 4 sons, Mrs. Albert H. (Elva) Miller, Kokomo,
Ind., Sara at home; Ivan, Elkhart, Ind.; David, Grove City, Minn.;
Levi, Kalona, Iowa, Moses, Doniphane, Mo.; also 31 grandchildren, 19
great-grandchild-ren; 2 brothers, Levi, Plain City, Ohio, Moses,
Kalona; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Sarah) Erb, Sugarcreek, Ohio, and
Mrs. David (Anna) Barkman, Baltic, Ohio. He was preceded in death by
five sisters. Services were held in the home by Bish. Noah Hostetler,
Kokomo, Ind., and the home Bishop Elmer T. Miller; in the barn by Min.
Jonas E. Helmuth, Hazelton, Iowa, and Bish. George Gingerich,
Bloomfield, Iowa. Burial in the Peter Miller Cemetery northeast of
Kalona, Iowa.
