NAFZIGER, Edna M.

Born: 3-25-1914, Parkesburg, Pa.  Died: 3-11-2005, Lititz, Pa.

Wife of: Levi Nafziger (11-3-1915/4-1975).  Daughter of: Late Christian and Fannie Smoker Engel.

Survivors: Children: Nelson C. (Patricia Megonigal) Nafziger of Parkesburg, Pa., Ralph L. (Judith Yoder) Nafziger of Ebergree, Colorado, Naomi E. (Arthur) King of Christiana, Pa. Grandchildren: 7 Great-grandchildren: 9.

Preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Engel and brothers, Aaron, Martin and Ira Engel.

She was a member of Parkesburg Mennonite Church.  Services: Millwood Mennonite Church, 441 Amish Road, Gap, Pa. on Tuesday, March 15th at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Gehman officiating.  Interment in adjoining cemetery.

Nice, Luella Mae, 84, of McMinnville, OR died December 14, 2005 at McMinnville, OR  of complications of diabetes and polymalgia.  She was born October 24, 1921 at Hubbard, OR to Hugh & Lillie (Schrag) Wolfer.  Nellie was born 10/12/1884.

On March 1, 1942 she was married to Howard Fred Nice, who survives.

Surviving are children, Marlene Kropf (Elkhart, IN); spouse Stanley E. Kropf; Judi Jones (McMinnville, OR); Loren Nice (McMinnville, OR); Gary Nice (Sheridan, OR); spouse Esther Zook Nice; Dennis Nice (McMinnville, OR); spouse Margaret Stauffer Nice; Douglas Nice (Salem, OR); 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are brothers and sisters: Clifford Wolfer, Sweet Home, OR; Clayton Wolfer, Sweet Home, OR; Helen Miller, McMinnville, OR; Blanche Kilmer, McMinnville, OR; Lynn Wolfer, McMinnville, OR; Roy Wolfer, Utica, NE; and Leslie Wolfer, McMinnville, OR.

Predeceased by a brother: Hugh Wolfer, Jr.

The funeral was held December 19, 2005 at Church on the Hill, McMinnville, OR with burial in Sheridan Mennonite Cemetery, Yamhill County, OR.

Nofziger, Alvin J.

(1931- 2005)
WAUSEON - Alvin J. Nofziger, 74, of Wauseon, died Monday morning, Dec. 19, 2005, at Medical University of Ohio in Toledo, where he had been a patient for one week.
Born Dec. 7, 1931, near Wauseon, to Ida (Yoder) and Clarence Nofziger, he married Florence King on Sept. 15, 1957, and she survives.
A lifelong resident of the Wauseon area, he farmed and was in partnership with his brothers at Nofziger Brothers Inc. near Wauseon until 1982.
He was a member of West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jeff (and wife, Cathy) Nofziger of Wauseon; two daughters, Mrs. Doug (Patsy) Jackson of Pettisville and Mrs. Dick (Jodi) Spiess of Archbold; six grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert (Virginia) Nofziger of Lyons, Melvin (Dianne) Nofziger of Wauseon and Burdell (Janice) Nofziger of Archbold; and a sister, Marilyn Verbeck of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Timothy; three sisters, Waneta Gerig, Letha Waidelich and Arlene Springer.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. in the West Clinton Church fellowship hall. Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the West Clinton Mennonite Church with Pastors James Roynon and Edward Diener to officiate. Interment will follow in the Pettisville Cemetery. Short Funeral Home of Archbold is in charge of the arrangements.

Nolt, Mervin H.
, 87, went home to be with his Lord on July 12, 2005, at Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz, following a lengthy illness. Formerly of Mount Joy, he was the husband of Susan Mae Buckwalter Nolt to whom he was married for 64 years on April 5, 2005.

Mr. Nolt founded the Maytown Mfg. Co. in 1946, currently known as Donegal Industries Inc., of Mount Joy. Later, he sold the business to The Lawrence Children s Underwear Co., a New York City based firm. He continued the management of Donegal Industries, the manufacturing division, until his retirement in 1982. He also served as a board member of the Maytown National Bank, the Mount Joy Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Mount Joy, where he was a member for more than twenty years. In 1983 he was elected treasurer of Landis Homes Retirement Community, and he served in that office for eleven years.

An active 55-year member of the Mount Joy Mennonite Church, he served the church in many different capacities. He also served as a part-time volunteer in the treasurer s office of Eastern Mennonite Missions in Salunga, and served on several committees of the Lancaster Mennonite Conference.

Born August 10, 1917 in West Earl Township, Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Harlan G. and Nettie Hess Nolt.

In addition to his wife, four children survive: Rachel Ann, wife of Donald Rensberger of Canandaigua, NY, Jack, husband of Ruth Heisey Nolt of Mount Joy, Linda S., wife of David Helmus of Lancaster and Joe E., husband of Dawn Hoover Nolt of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A brother, Elvin, married to Ruth Nolt of Elizabethtown also survives.

A sister, Myrtle Bucher, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held from the West Bethany Chapel of Landis Homes Retirement Community, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA on Monday, July 18, 2005 at 10:30 AM. Visitation hours will be on Monday morning from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the West Bethany Chapel. Private interment in Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery, East Donegal Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Landis Homes Caring Fund, c/o Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA 17543. Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc., Mount Joy.

Oberlander, Doris Mae, 76, of Perkasie, PA died October 12, 2005.  She was born to Warren & Annie (Charles) Renner. 

She was married to Frank O. Oberlander, Sr., who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Nancy A. Cramer and her husband, Paul, of Perkasie, Frances Nyce and her husband, Harvey, of Sellersville and Frank O. Oberlander, Jr. and his wife, Doreen, of Harleysville; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held October 19, 2005 at Reed & Steinback Funeral Home, Doylestown, PA.

She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Oswald, Barbara Ellen Schweitzer, 94, of Sturgis, MI, died November 1, 2005 at Sturgis, MI of declining health.  She was born October 31, 1911 at Strang, Nebraska.  On September 25, 1938 she was married to Paul Oswald, who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Sharon (Lloyd) Schrock; Mattie (Sam) Miller; Richard (Christine) Oswald; 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The funeral was held November 5, 2005 at Locust Grove Mennonite Church, Burr Oak, MI,
 with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Peters, Goldie Friesen, 83, of Henderson, NE died October 3, 2005.  She was born to Bernhard A & Katie (Abrahams) Friesen. 

She was married to Clarence Peters, who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Chery (Don) Siebert and Rollyn Friesen, and 2 grandchildren.

The funeral was held October 7, 2005 at Bethesda Mennonite Church, Henderson, NE.

She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.
