FELDA DECKER
Felda Decker, 83, of Kansas Christian Home, Newton, died on May 1 at the home. Funeral services were held May 5 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, with Jesse B. Dourty officiating. Burial was in Gnadenau Cemetery. A former resident of Hillsboro, she was a member of Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church, Hope. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Ginder of Wichita and JoLene Hawbeaker of Columbia, Pa.; two brothers, Harvey Jantz of Hillsboro and Edwin Jantz of Tampa; two sisters, Linda Richert of Newton and Elma Funk of Hillsboro; and four grandchildren.

LUELLA SMITH REGIER
Graveside and memorial services for Luella Smith Regier, 80, of North Newton, were held May 12. The graveside services took place at Emmaus Mennonite Church Cemetery near Whitewater. The memorial services were held at the Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton, with Darrell Fast and D.C. Wedel officiating. A former teacher and social worker, she died May 10 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton. She had been president of the Newton Council for Retarded Children and was a co-founder of the Kansas Association of Parents of Retarded Children. She taught in public schools until 1954 and established a school for retarded children in Harvey County. She was The Newton Kansan's "Woman of the Year in Education" for 1956, assistant registrar at Bethel College, 1941-44, and registrar, 1944-45, and a social case worker at Prairie View Mental Health Center. Survivors include her husband, Hans E. Regier; one son, John Elliot, of North Newton; one stepdaughter, Marian I. Piper of San Antonio, Texas; and one grandson.

ANNA EWERT
Anna Ewert, 94, of Bethel Home for Aged, Newton, died May 9 at the home. She was a former Halstead homemaker. Graveside services were held May 12 at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Hillsboro, with John Gaeddert officiating. Memorial services also were held that day at First Mennonite Church, Halstead. Survivors include one son, William H. of Halstead; one daughter, Della Jost, of Reedley, Calif.; three sisters, Elizabeth Balzer of Newton, Ruth Buland of Taft, Texas, and Bertina Braun of Council Grove; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Leo, preceded her in death in 1972.

CARL KIM
Carl Kim, 85, of Buhler, a longtime Harvey County farmer and carpenter, died May 17 at his home. Funeral services were held May 20 at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, Inman, with Frederick J. Obold officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, the former Lynda Buller; two daughters, Doris Friesen of Dodge and Dwala Smith of Yreka, Calif.; one brother, Ben of Longview, Wash.; two sisters, Katherine Schroeder of Hillsboro and Bertha Thiessen of Buhler; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

AGNES KOEHN
A 101-year-old resident of Bethesda Home, Goessel, died on May 20. Funeral services for Agnes Koehn, a Bethesda home resident since 1962, were held May 23 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel, with Kenneth Rupp officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors include six sons, Jacob C. of Goessel, Corny, Frank, John and George, all of Newton, and Irvin of Blaine, Wash.; three daughters, Nellie Esau of Newton, Margaret Revell of Spring Valley, Calif., and Martha Penner of Emporia; 30 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Cornelius C. Koehn, preceded her in death in 1956.
