May 12th, in Washington Co., Md., Sister MARY ESHLEMAN, wife of Jonas Eshleman, aged 42 years, and 8 months. Her remains were interred in the burying-ground at Miller's meeting-house. Funeral services by Jacob Oberholzer and Michael Horst, from Rev. 14: 13.

May 12th, in Washington Co., Md., Bishop PETER ESHLEMAN, aged 77 years, 6 months and 4 days. He was a minister in the Mennonite church 44 years, and bishop 35 years. Twelve days before his death he administered the broken emblems of the crucified Redeemer at Miller's church, and while admonishing his congregation he said this perhaps will be the last time I will hold communion here. He was sick only a few days. Buried on Sunday the 14th at Miller's meeting-house in the presence of a great number who came to pay the last tribute of respect. He will be missed in the family circle, in the church, and in the neighborhood. His labors are ended. God has called him home to his reward, and to receive the crown which awaits all the true followers of Jesus. Services by Jacob Oberholzer and Peter Wadel, from 2 Tim., 4:7,8.

May 23, in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland Co., Pa., Sister FREDERICA CAROLINE FOX, widow of the late John Fox, aged 78 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was a faithful sister and her seat was seldom vacant in time of worship.

May 23rd, in Mahoning Co., Ohio, MARY, daughter of Peter and Magdalena YODER, aged 20 years, 9 months and 10 days. On the 25th her remains were consigned to the earth at Bixler's burying-ground in the presence of a large number of sympathizing relatives and friends who came to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed, on which occasion very impressive remains were made by Joseph Bixler and Jac. Kolp, from 1st Thess. 13:4-17. The deceased had only been sick about ten days. On the night previous to her death she felt the need of a Savior, and desired that Jos. Bixler be sent for, who went and received her as a sister in the visible church, and we have reason to believe she is now a member in the church triumphant. After she was baptized Bixler asked her if she felt satisfied, she said she was and wished to go to heaven. She desired that all her young comrades should be warned to forsake pride, dancing, and all worldly amusements. Dear young friends who read this and have not made your peace with God, may not this be a warning to you to come to Jesus now? To- day is the accepted time, while he yet stands with outstretched arms and invites you to come to him.

June 18th, in Johnson Co., Iowa, Bros. JOHN REBER, aged 56 years, 3 months and 4 days. He leaves a bereaved wife and seven children to mourn their loss. He was a faithful broth- [sic] in the Amish Mennonite Church. During his sickness, which continued several weeks, he was patient, and frequently desired prayer, and lay much with closed eyes, and hands upon his breast, but moving lips showed that he was engaged in silent prayer to God. The 20th his remains were placed in the silent tomb. He was beloved by all, and he was very good to the poor. Services by John Zimmerman and by Jos. Schwarzentruber, from Rev. 12:1, 12.
