Alderfer, Allen A., son of Abram B. and Helena (Allebach) Alderfer, was born in Montgomery Co., Pa., Jan. 11, 1876; died at the Eastern Mennonite Home, Souderton, Pa., Feb. 26, 1963; aged 87 y. 1 m. 15 d. His first wife, Mary (Freed) Alderfer, died March 24, 1925. His second wife, Emma K. (Tyson) Al-derfer, died Sept. 10, 1955. Surviving is one sister (Mrs. Lyman Kratz). He was a member of the Souderton Church, where funeral serv-ices were held March 3, in charge of Jacob M. Moyer and Russell B. Musselman.

Augustine, Barbara, daughter of Chris and Magdalena (Wittrig) Roth, was born at Noble, Iowa, July 3, 1880; died at Corry, Pa., Feb. 28, 1963; aged 82 y. 7 m. 25 d. On May 30, 1900, she was married to Simon Augustine, who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters and one son (Mabel-Mrs. W. S. Stoltzfus, Clara - Mrs. Joe Troyer, Tillie - Mrs. John Saltzman, and John), 2 sisters (Mattie-Mrs. Aaron Eichelberger and Lizzie - Mrs. Sam Stauffer), 21 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Britton Run Church, Spartansburg, Pa. Funeral services were held at the funeral home, March 2, in charge of Daniel A. Johns.

Beck, Lina, daughter of Christian and Cathrine Graber, was born near Stryker, Ohio, Sept. 13, 1876; died at her home, Archbold, Ohio, Feb. 25, 1963; aged 86 y. 5 m. 12 d. On Jan. 2, 1896, she was married to Simon P. Beck, who died May 6, 1931. Surviving are 5 children (Clista, Sylvia, Olan, Lois, and Her-man), 4 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister (Lydia Jacquin). Two brothers and 3 sisters also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Lockport Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 27, in charge of Walter Stuckey, D. Wyse Graber, and Free-man Aschliman.

Deffenbaugh, Jennie, was born at Lopez, Pa., Jan. 9, 1881; died at the home of her daugh-ter, Juanita Hawthorne, Hopwood, Pa., March 11, 1963; aged 82 y. 2 m. 2 d. Surviving are 2 daughters and one son (Juanita, Mabel, and Lloyd), 3 grandchildren, one sister and 3 broth-ers (Mrs. David Zook, William, Arthur, and Leon). She was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at the Masontown Mennonite Church, in charge of Paul M. Roth.

Drummond, Grace B., was born Oct. 11, 1900; died at the Frankford Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., Feb. 14, 1963; aged 62 y. 4 m. 3 d. In 1918, she was married to Harry Cirelly, who died in 1938. Two sons and 2 daughters were born to this union: Frank A., John J., Anna Crouch, and Grace L. Bender, all of whom survive. In 1940, she was married to James Drummond, who survives. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was a member of the Trevose Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 17, in charge of Paul W. Histand; inter-ment in Doylestown Mennonite Cemetery.

Freed, Annie M., daughter of Tobias F. and Hannah (Moyer) Nyce, was born at Philadel-phia, Pa., Oct. 13, 1883; died at the Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, Pa., Feb. 25, 1963; aged 79 y. 4 m. 12 d. She was married to John G. Freed, who died May 17, 1957. Sur-viving are 8 children (Henry N., Alverda-Mrs. Howard L. Godshall, Aquilla-Mrs. Edward J. Staude; John N., Martha-Mrs. Na-thaniel Keeler, Mildred-Mrs. Frederick B. Ziegler, Edna-Mrs. Stayton B. Derstine, and Lester N.), 30 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and one sister (Mrs. Ellanora N. Hartzell). Two sons and 2 daughters preceded her in death. She was a member of the Souderton Church, where funeral services were held March 2, in charge of Russell B. Musselman and Jacob M. Moyer.

Freed, Elmer H., son of Franklin and Cath-erine (Hauch) Freed, was born in Montgomery Co., Pa., Dec. 7, 1901; died of a heart at-tack at Souderton, Pa., Feb. 2, 1963; aged 61 y. I m. 26 d. He was married to Elsie A. Derstine, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters and one son (Mildred D.-Mrs. Roland R. Hackman, Doris D.-Mrs. Richard S. Nice, and W. Glenn), 4 grandchildren, and one sister (Mrs. John S. Musselman). He was a member of the Souderton Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 6, in charge of Jacob M. Moyer, Paul R. Clemens, and Russell B. Mus-selman.

Garrett, Walter Henry, son of Benjamin and Martha Mary (Boppe) Garrett, died at his home in Maugansville, Md., Feb. 18, 1963; aged 59 y. Surviving are his wife, Viola May (Charlton) Garrett, 4 daughters (Mrs. Henry Hege, Mrs. Henry Horst, Mrs. Mahlon Bauman, and Mrs. Leonard Bauman), 5 sisters and 2 brothers (Mrs. Bessie Smoot, Mrs. Raymond Swain, Mrs. Carroll Stouffer, Mrs. Monroe Martin, Mrs. Sherman Taylor, John, and James), and 20 grandchildren. He was a member of the Reiff Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 21, in charge of Irvin Shank, Samuel Martin, James T. Shank, and Moses K. Horst.

Gibson, Clifford H., son of Frank and Iva (Mattix) Gibson, was born at Lafayette, Ind. Jan. 13, 1906; died of cancer at the Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso, Ind., March 8, 1963; aged 57 y. 1 m. 23 d. On Aug. 17, 1930, he was married to Delcie Reinhardt, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (May-nard and Ronald), 5 grandchildren, one sister and 5 brothers (Mrs. Lee Murtaugh, Willard, Frank, Maurice, Forrest, and Carl). His parents and one brother preceded him in death. At the age of 11, he made his home with Iva and Lee Sutter, Kouts, Ind. He was a member of the Hopewell Church, where funeral serv-ices were held March 11, in charge of Samu-el S. Miller and Emanuel S. Birky.

Good, Barbara Jean, daughter of Raymond R. and Elsie (Good) Good, was born in Lancaster Co., Pa., Aug. 10, 1949; died at her home March 11, 1963, after a long illness; aged 13 y. 7 m. 1 d. Surviving are her par-ents, 7 brothers (John, Jerry, Eli, Clarence, Nevin, Jay Irvin, and Bruce), 3 sisters (Joyce, Hettie Ann, and Lillie Mae), and grandparents (Mrs. Hettie Good, and Mr. and Mrs. John Good). Funeral services were held at the Bowmansville Church, March 14, in charge of Wilmer Eby and Benj. Zeiset.

Groff, Jacob A., son of Henry and Emma (Allebach) Groff, was born in Montgomery Co., Pa., Dec. 29, 1881; died at the Eastern Mennonite Home, Souderton, Pa., March 1, 1963; aged 81 y. 2 m. 2 d. He was married to Lizzie KuIp, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters (Edna-Mrs. William Strobe and Viola-Mrs. Peter Hunsberger, 4 sisters (Mrs. Hanna Moyer, Mrs. Ella Hill, Mrs. Clar-ence Godshall, and Mrs. Henry K. Nice), and 2 brothers (Allen A. and Harvey A.). He was a member of the Souderton Church. Funeral services were held at the Eastern Mennonite Home, March 6, in charge of Russell B. Mus-selman and Marvin M. Anders.

Hershey, Alice R., daughter of Abraham and Mary Ann (Rutt) Newcomer, was born in Manor Twp., Pa., Oct. 2, 1869; died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lizzie R. Kreider, Manheim, Pa., March 2, 1963; aged 93 y. 7 m. She was married to Franklin Hershey, who died 12 years ago. One daughter was born to this union, who also preceded her in death. Surviving are 2 sisters and one brother (Mrs. Lizzie R. Kreider, Annie R. Newcomer, and David R.). She was a member of the Habeck-er Church, where funeral services were held March 5, in charge of Christian B. Charles and Benj. Eshbach.

Martin, Irvin, son of Adam and Mary Ellen Martin, was born at Lawn, Pa., March 10, 1899; died at the Community Hospital, Ephra-ta, Pa., Jan. 22, 1963; aged 63 y. 10 m. 12 d. Surviving are his wife, Lucy (Hackman) Mar-tin, 6 children (Anna Mary-Mrs. Elam MetzIer, Minnie-Mrs. Mahlon Miller, Fannie-Mrs. Paul Martin, J. Mark, Jean, and James), 14 grandchildren, one sister (Mrs. Aaron Smith), 4 half sisters (Mrs. Anna Scott, Mrs. Mabel Hill, Minerva Martin, and Mrs. Ella Sprout), and 2 half brothers (Benj. Lehman and Har-vey Lehman). One son preceded him in death. He was a member of the Hammer Creek Church, where funeral services were held Jan. 26, in charge of Mahlon Zimmerman, Simon Bucher, Ira Good, and Parke Heller; inter-ment in Hess Cemetery.

Mellinger, John C., son of Abram and Re-becca (Mohler) Mellinger, was born in Lancaster Co., Pa., Dec. 6. 1869; died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. Harry Hershey, Lititz, Pa., Feb. 21, 1963; aged 93 y. 2 m. 15 d. His wife, the former Ada M. Risser, died in 1960. Surviving are his daughter (Ella Mae-Mrs. J. Harry Hershey) and 2 brothers (Harvey M. and Samuel M.). He was a charter member of the Lititz Church, where funeral services were held, in charge of Mahlon M. Zimmerman and Melvin H. Lauver; interment in Hammer Creek Cemetery.

Metzger, Elvina, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Sittler, was born in Peel Twp., Ont., May 2, 1901; died at the St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., March 10, 1963; aged 61 y. 10 m. 8 d. Her husband, Wesley Metzger, survives. Also surviving are one daughter (Ruby-Mrs. Vernon Weber), 4 sisters (Mrs. Russell Thomas, Mrs. Daniel Schmitt, Mrs. Melvin Gingrich, and Elizabeth), 4 brothers (Henry, Josiah, William, and Brian), and 6 grandchildren. She was a member of the Elmira Church, where funeral services were held March 13, conducted by Howard Bauman and Amsey Martin.

Myers, Eli H., son of Milton and Maryann (Garman) Myers, was born at Huntertown, Ind., Feb. 23, 1879; died at the home of his son, Eli Myers, Jr., Feb. 26, 1963; aged 84 y. 3 d. On March 21, 1921, he was married to Elizabeth Lugbill, who died Nov. 8, 1935. One child, one brother, and one sister also preceded him in death. Surviving are 2 sons (Walter and Eli, Jr.), 6 grandchildren, and one brother (Clarence). He was a member of the Leo Church, where funeral services were held March 1, in charge of Simon Stuckey.

Oyer, Siddie B., daughter of Levi and Barbra (Yoder) King, was born at West Liberty, Ohio, Oct. 30, 1884; died of pneumonia at Goshen, Ind., March 7, 1963; aged 78 y. 4 m. 5 d. On Aug. 9, 1916, she was married to Noah Oyer, who died Feb. 25, 1931. She was retired, formerly housemother (matron) at the men's dormitory, Goshen College. Surviving are 2 daughters and one son (Verna, Mary, and John S.), one brother (John Y.), one sister (Lila King), and 4 grandchildren. She was a member of the College Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held March 10, with John H. Mosemann and S. C. Yoder officiating; interment in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.

Ropp, Mose S., son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Schweitzer) Ropp, was born at Milverton, Ont., May 20, 1874; died at Kalona, Iowa, March 10,1963; aged 88 y. 9 m. 18 d. On Sept. 20, 1896, he was married to Katie Eimen, who died Feb. 17, 1954. One son and one daughter also preceded him in death. He was the last of a family of 13 children. Surviving are 4 daughters (Mrs. Aaron Spicher, Mrs. Joe Erb, Mrs. Gordon Miller, and Katie Ropp), 7 grandchildren, 3 stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 11 step-great-grandchildren. He was a member of the East Union Church, where funeral services were held March 13, in charge of J. John J. Miller, Eugene Garber, and A. Lloyd Swartzendruber.

Saltzman, Kathryn (Katie), daughter of John B. and Barbara (Lauber) Saltzman, was born at Milford, Nebr., Nov. 4, 1897; died at Geneva, Nebr., March 6, 1963; aged 65 y. 4 m. 2 d. During the years 1931-34 she was student and cook at Hesston College. In 1935 she moved to Kansas City, where she worked as housekeeper and served as superintendent of the home department of the Argentine Mennonite Church. On Jan. 7, 1963, she was admitted to the hospital at Geneva, where she remained until her death. Her parents, one brother, and one sister preceded her in death. Surviving are 2 sisters and 3 brothers (Elma, Emma-Mrs. Lee Steider, Jacob, Ben, and John). She was a member of the Argentine Church. Funeral services were held at the Salem Church, Shickley, Nebr., in charge of Glen Yoder, Rufus Horst, P. R. Kennel, Fred Reeb, and Lee Schegel.

Schwartzentruber, Jacob, son of Daniel and Lena (Brenneman) Schwartzentruber, was born in South Easthope Twp., Ont., Sept. 7, 1887; died at his home, Tavistock, Ont., March 10, 1963; aged 75 y. 6 m. 3 d. On Dec. 17, 1914, he was married to Sarah Jantzi, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter (Idella) and one sister (Katie-Mrs. Simon Leis). He was a member of the East Zorra Church, where funeral services were held March 12, in charge of Dan Wagler and Vernon Zehr.

Bender, Elizabeth Emma, daughter of Chris-tian and Catherine (Risser) Rediger, was born near Gridley, Ill., Sept. 29, 1883; died of a heart attack at her home in Milford, Nebr., March 13, 1963; aged 79 y. 5 m. 12 d. On Dec. 8, 1908, she was married to David E. Bender, of Milford, Nebr. Surviving are 4 children (Merton E., Dorothy L., Merle L., and Barbara-Mrs. Don Reber), 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 2 brothers (E. W. and John F.), and 2 sisters (Mrs. B. M. Kremer and Mrs. R. H. Shertz). Five brothers and sisters pre-ceded her in death. Mrs. Don Reber, mission-ary in Japan, returned a few days too late to see her mother. She was a member of the East Fairview Church, where funeral services were held on March 15.

Byler, Raymond, son of Rudy and Matilda (Bender) Byler, was born at Dover, Del., July 7, 1929; died at his home March 21, 1963; aged 33 y. 8 m. 14 d. On Sept. 21, 1950, he was married to Lydia Bontrager, who survives. Also surviving are 6 children (Ruth, Lois, Ragina, Gladys, Linda, and Gregory Raymond), his parents, 5 brothers and 6 sisters (Henry, Jonas, Lester, Willie, John, Ida-Mrs. Earl Byler, Sarah--Mrs. Eli Schrock, Naomi--Mrs. William Coblentz, Elizabeth-Mrs. Har-vey Byler, Anna-Mrs. Daniel Miller, and Ruth), and his stepgrandmother. Funeral services were held at the Greenwood Mennonite Church, in charge of Alvin Mast, Mark Swartzentruber, and Eli Bontrager.

French, Yvonne Louise, daughter of Dr. J. James and Maude (Hartzler) Brenneman, was born at Omaha, Nebr., Jan. 28, 1941; died at Lewistown, Pa., March 19, 1963, of Hodgkin's disease; aged 22 y. 1 m. 19 d. On June 27, 1959, she was married to Gareth David French, who survives. Also surviving are 2 children (Brian Gareth and Robin Jon), her parents, one brother and 3 sisters (James, Jr., Cecile-Mrs. Gary Kenawell, Gwendolyn, and Brenda). She was a member of the Maple Grove Church, Belleville, Pa., where funeral services were held March 21, in charge of Elam Glick, Sam Glick, and Waldo E. Miller; interment in Allensville Cemetery.

Gehman, Alice B., daughter of Reuben L. and Mary (Bergey) Gehman, was born at Mor-wood, Pa., Aug. 1, 1889; died at the Norristown (Pa.) State Hospital, March 11, 1963; aged 73 y. 5 m. 10 d. Surviving are one sister and 2 brothers (Annie-Mrs. Herman A. Metz, Cornelius, and Howard). She was a member of the Franconia Church, where funeral serv-ices were held March 15, in charge of Leroy Godshall and Curtis Bergey.

Gerber, Donna Rachel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Gerber, St. Agatha, Ont., was born April 27, 1962; died at her home March 15, 1963; aged 10 m. 16 d. Surviving, besides her parents, are 5 sisters (Bonnie, Tamara, Shela, Shelley, and Ann Denise, her twin), one broth-er (Dennice), and her grandparents (Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wilker and Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Gerber). Memorial services were held at the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, in charge of C. F. Derstine.

Hershberger, Jacob J., son of Jonas and Elizabeth (Schlabach) Hershberger, was born at Charm, Ohio, Oct. 29, 1885; died in an auto collision, south of Albany, Oreg., March 15, 1963; aged 77 y. 4 m. 14 d. On March 12, 1907, he was married to Malinda Kramer, who died Oct. 20, 1962. Surviving are 3 children (Mrs. Mabel McGrew, Mrs. Amy Higgenbot-ham, and John), one sister (Mrs. Barbara Glick), and 2 brothers (John and Levi). He was a member of the Zion Church, where fu-neral services were held March 21, in charge of John M. Lederach and Clarence Kropf.

Hess, Cora M., daughter of Solomon and Elizabeth (Buckwalter) Myer, was born in Upper Leacock Twp., Pa.; died at Leola, Pa., Feb. 22, 1963; aged 75 y. 4 m. 23 d. On May 6, 1914, she was married to Elias G. Hess, who died in 1939. Two children also preceded her in death. Surviving are 2 sons (E. Howard and Ralph J.), 3 daughters (Grace E., Ethel M.-Mrs. Clyde Musser, and Miriam L.), 9 grandchildren, 2 brothers (Elam and Ira), and one sister (Martha). She was a mem-ber of the Millersville Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 26 in charge of Benja-min Eshbach, Landis Shertzer, and Herbert Fisher.

Kulp, Mary H., daughter of Solomon and Elizabeth (Heckler) Krupp, was born in Montgomery Co., Pa., Sept. 30, 1883; died at the Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, Pa., March 12, 1963; aged 79 y. 5 m. 10 d. She was the wife of John H. Kulp. Surviving are 2 sons (Norman K. and Irvin K.), 5 grandchildren, and one sister (Mrs. Walter S. Moyer). She was a member of the Souderton Church, where funeral services were held March 16, in charge of Jacob M. Moyer and Russell B. Musselman.

Kurtz, Anna M., daughter of Stephen H. and Sarah (Stoltzfus) Mast, was born near Morgantown, Pa., Nov. 22, 1889; died of a heart attack at her home in Morgantown, March 4, l963; aged 73 y. 3 m. 10 d. On Dec. 10, 1914, she was married to Isaac H. Kurtz, who died Aug. 23, 1951. Surviving are 2 sons and 3 daughters (Sadie-Mrs. Jacob D. Mast, Edna, Norman, Amanda, and Henry), 9 grandchildren, 4 sisters (Mrs. Rebecca Kurtz, Amanda-Mrs. William C. Smoker, Malinda-Mrs. Samuel K. Petersheim, and Sadie-Mrs. David Stoltzfus), and one foster brother (Samuel K. Mast). She was a member of the Con-estoga Church, where funeral services were held March 7, in charge of Ira A. Kurtz and Omar A. Kurtz.

Kutzli, Rudolph J., son of Blessy and Anna Susanna (Spiess) Kutzli, was born near Archbold, Ohio, July 8, 1878; died of leukemia at the Bluffton (Ohio) Hospital, March 18, 1963; aged 84 y. 8 m. 10 d. On Oct. 29, 1901, he was married to Sarah Burkholder, who died Dec. 1, 1960. Surviving is one sister (Mrs. Ida Fetzer). He was a member of the Central Church, where funeral services were held March 20, in charge of Charles H. Gautsche and Dale Wyse; interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Morenci, Mich.

Martin, Mary, daughter of Joseph and Bar-bara (Berkey) Shaum, was born in St. Joseph Co., Ind., Nov. 11, 1892; died March 2, 1963; aged 70 y. 3 m. 19 d. On June 1, 1913, she was married to Joseph Martin, who survives. Also surviving are 17 children (Barbara-Mrs. Sidney Brubacher, Susie-Mrs. Mervin Ramer, Ida-Mrs. Ira Ramer, Emma-Mrs. Nathan Ramer, Daniel, Bertha-Mrs. Irvin Martin, Grace-Mrs. Ben Shirk, Ruth-Mrs. Harvey Brubaker, Naaman, Jason, Edna-Mrs. Clayton Brubaker, Allen, Miriam-Mrs. David Hoover, Rufus, Rhoda-Mrs. Leonard Martin, Suetta-Mrs. James Bechtel, and Benjamin), 117 grand-children, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 half broth-ers and one half sister (Ephraim Markley, Isaac Markley, and Lizzie-Mrs. Henry Weaver). She was a member of the Yellow Creek (Wisler) Church, where funeral services were held March 6, in charge of Elmer Good and Paul Hoover.

Moyer, Lizzie N., daughter of Henry and Annie (Nyce) Houpt, was born in Montgomery Co., Pa., May 14, 1888; died at the Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, Pa., March 13, 1963; aged 74 y. 9 m. 27 d. On Nov. 16, 1907, she was married to Alvin D. Moyer, who died Sept. 3, 1944. Surviving are 5 children (Anna Mary, Pauline, Alvin, Floyd, and Jacob), 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and one sister. She was a member of the Franconia Church, where funeral services were held March 18, in charge of Leroy Godshall and Curtis Bergey.

Schrock, Lydia Maye, daughter of Gideon and Lena (Moyer) Bender, was born near Hartford, Kans., Feb. 7, 1893; died at her home near Kalona, Iowa, March 13, 1963; aged 70 y. 1 m. 6 d. On Jan. 5, 1919, she was married to Andrew Schrock, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children (Olin, Orval, and Odena-Mrs. Willis Detweiler), 8 grandchildren, and 3 sisters (Clara-Mrs. Will Sny-der, Mattie-Mrs. Alva Swartzendruber, and Lizzie-Mrs. Willis Yoder). One son and 3 sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of the Iowa City Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the East Union Church, March 16, in charge of Wilbur Nach-tigall and J. John J. Miller.

Steinman, Lavina, daughter of Christian H. and Annie (Brenneman) Steinman, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Dec. 23, 1890; died in her sleep at the home of her sister, Mrs. Annie Gingerich, Baden, Ont., Jan. 24, 1963; aged 72 y. 1 m. 1 d. Surviving are 2 brothers (Simeon and Emanuel) and 4 sisters (Mrs. Katie Gingerich, Mrs. Annie Gingerich, Mrs. Lena Gingerich, and Mrs. Christina Wagler). She was a member of the Steinman A.M. Church, where funeral services were held, in charge of Elmer Schwartzentruber and Orland Gingerich.

Steinmann, Abraham, son of Joseph and Mary (Zehr) Steinmann, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Feb. 15, 1887; died at his home Feb. 20, 1963; aged 76 y. 5 d. On Dec. 22, 1915, he was married to Mary Roth, who survives. Stoltzfus, Katie M., daughter of Stephen K. and Catherine (Esch) Mast, was born in Caer-narvon Twp. Pa., July 18, 1880; died at Lan-caster, Pa., March 16, 1963, of a heart attack while she was piecing a quilt to be sold at a relief sale; aged 82 y. 7 m. 26 d. She was married to Henry H. Stoltzfus, who died Aug. 9, 1957. One son also preceded her in death. Surviving are 2 sons and one daughter (Calvin, John, and Della-Mrs. William Manatti), 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers (Mrs. Priscilla Stoltzfus, Mrs. Lydia Grubb), Aaron, and Elam). Since the death of her husband she was living with her son John, Lancaster, Pa. She was a member of the Conestoga Church, where funeral serv-ices were held March 19, in charge of Ira Kurtz.

Stutzman, Naomi, daughter of Fredrick and Anna (Ratzlaff) Dickel, was born in Johnson Co., Iowa, March 12, 1900; died at her home, Wellman, Iowa, March 21, 1963; aged 63 y. 9 d. On Jan. 23, 1944, she was married to Menno Stutzman, who survives. Also surviving are one brother (Dan), 2 sisters (Elizabeth-Mrs. Arthur Wright and Mrs. Mary Marner), 3 stepsons (Delmar, Irvin, and Harold), and 2 stepdaughters (Agnes--Mrs. Arthur Stutzman and Arlene-Mrs. Cleon Stutzman). She was a member of the Wellman Church, where funeral services were held, in charge of Geo. S. Miller, Noah Landis, and Max Yoder.

Thomas, Clara, daughter of Mrs. Enos Gingrich and the late Henry Shantz, was born in 1906; died at Kitchener, Ont., March 23, 1963; aged 56 y. Surviving are her husband, Russell Thomas, 5 sons and 3 daughters (Milton, Russell Jr., Walter, Kenneth, Grant, Lillian-Mrs. John Neilly, Barbara-Mrs. Edward Giilck, and Mary Lou-Mrs. Harry Falkenstern) 2 sisters (Lillian-Mrs. Daniel Schmitt and Dorothy-Mrs. Melvin Gingrich), and 20 grandchildren. Two sons and one daughter died in infancy. One sister also preceded her in death two weeks previously. Funeral serv-ices were held at the First Mennonite Church, in charge of C. F. Derstine and Robert N. Johnson.

Zehr, Daniel S., son of John and Barbara (Schmidt) Zehr, was born in Elma Twp., Ont., June 18, 1908; died at his home, Poole, Ont., Feb. 1, 1963, of a heart attack while he was asleep; aged 54 y. 7 m. 11 d. On Dec. 23, 1930, he was married to Edna Schweitzer, who survives. Also surviving are 4 daughters (Erma-Mrs. Kenneth Burgetz, Shirley-Mrs. Oliver Kropf, Loreen-Mrs. Lloyd Ropp, and Anna Mae), 6 grandchildren, 3 brothers (Christian, Joseph, and Simon), and 3 sisters (Mary-Mrs. David Kuepfer, Katie-Mrs. Solomon Kuepfer, and Fannie-Mrs. Henry Herrford). On Dec. 23, 1913, he was married to Lydia Wideman, who survives. Also surviving are 5 sons (Edgar, Harold, Marvin, Eldon, and Orvin), 21 grandchildren, 5 brothers (Dan, Ed, Milton, Sam, and Dave), and 4 sisters (Mrs. Etta Eickemier, Rosetta-Mrs. Ed. Cressman, Leah, daughter of Amos and Hannah (Martin) Weber, was born in Waterloo Twp., Ont., July 25, 1874; died at St. Jacobs, Ont., March 12, 1963; aged 88 y. 7 m. 15 d. On April 7, 1896, she was married to Daniel M. Cressman, who died in 1957. Surviving are 2 sons and one daughter (Daniel, Amos, and Mary Ann-Mrs. Mike Bowman), 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (Amos and Elias) and 2 sisters (Mary Ann-Mrs. Christian Martin and Hannah-Mrs. Aaron Weber). One son predeceased her. She was a member of the St. Jacobs Church, where funeral services were held March 15, in charge of Rufus Jutzi and Howard S. Bauman; interment in Three Bridges Cemetery.

Fleagle, Eva May, daughter of Wm. P. and Annie (Shriner) Wadel, was born near Scotland, Pa., June 28, 1910; died during service at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church, March 3, 1963; aged 52 y. 8 m. 3 d. On June 3, 1944, she was married to Archie Fleagle, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter (Sharon), her parents, and 10 brothers and sisters (Wm. J., Albert, Ira, John, Julia, Annamary, Mrs. Fred Lehman, Leslie, Mrs. Paul Stewart, and Wayne). Fulton, Carl J., son of Samuel B. and Amanda (Stover) Fulton, was born at Seville, Ohio, Nov. 25, 1887; died at Orrville, Ohio, March 6, 1963; aged 75 y. 3 m. 9 d. On Feb. 21, 1943, he was married to Ida Hartzler, who survives. Hartzler, John N., son of Joseph D. and Sarah (Bontrager) Hartzler, was born in Indiana, Aug.11, 1870; died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elam B. Martin, Smithville, Ohio, March 8, 1963; aged 92 y. 6 m. 25 d. On Jan. 27, 1904, he was married to Mary Eberly who died Dec. 23, 1950. One brother, one sister, one son, 2 daughters, and one granddaughter also preceded him in death. Surviving are one daughter (Sarah-Mrs. Elam B. Martin), one foster daughter (Evelyn Hilty-Mrs. Levi D. Kropf), 2 brothers (David B. and Joseph M.), and 5 grandchildren. He was a member of the Mennonite Church since his youth. Funeral services were held at Martins Church, March 12, in charge of Lester D. Amstutz and Daniel W. Hilty.

Hershberger, William J., son of Daniel W. and Barbara (Miller) Hershberger, was born near Walnut Creek, Ohio, Sept. 8, 1893; died of a cerebral embolism at his home, Walnut Creek, March 19, 1963; aged 69 y. 6 m. 11 d. He had completed 50 years of teaching in the public schools a few weeks before his death. On Sept. 6, 1919, he was married to Minerva Hershberger, who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons (Eugene, Doran, Truman, and Gerald), one daughter (Oma-Mrs. Arthur Smucker), 20 grandchildren, 2 brothers (John and Roman), and 5 sisters (Mary-Mrs. Otis Sundheimer, Ada-Mrs. Lester Mast, Kate-Mrs. Harry Gerber, Dona-Mrs. Palmer Zook, and Nora-Mrs. Walter Oswald). He was an active member of the Walnut Creek Church, where funeral services were held March 22, in charge of Paul R. Miller, assisted by Paul Hummel.

Holtzwarth, Norman, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Holtzwarth, was born and lived all his life near Petersburg, Ont.; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, March 21, 1963; aged 56 y. Surviving are one brother (Albert) and 3 sisters (Mrs. Elizabeth Rueffer, Mrs. Edna Asmusen, and Mrs. Annie Holst). He was a member of the Erb Street Church, where funeral services were conducted March 25, in' charge of J. B. Martin and Osiah Horst.

Hostetler, Lucy, daughter of Daniel J. and Catherine (Thomas) Miller, was born in Lagrange Co., Ind., Nov. 7, 1878; died at the Westview Convalescent Home, Elkhart, Ind., March 26, 1963; aged 84 y. 4 m. 19 d. On Jan. 18, 1914, she was married to Herbert Hostetler, who preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter (Arlene) and one brother (Harry D.). One brother also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Shore Church, where funeral services were held March 29, in charge of Arnold C. Roth and Orvin Hooley.

Kurtz, Angelina, daughter of John C. and Barbara (Good) Kurtz, was born prematurely at Salisbury, Md., March 4, 1963, and died two days later. Surviving, besides the parents, are 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Graveside services were held at the Snow Hill Mennonite Church, March 7, in charge of Omar Stoltzfus.

Peachey, Miriam Esther, daughter of Crist L. and Mary (Kurtz) Kauffman, was born at Belleville, Pa., Dec. 20, 1910; died of a heart condition at the Lewistown (Pa.) Hospital, March 23, 1963; aged 52 y. 3 m. 3 d. On March 6, 1932, she was married to Nelda Peachey, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters (Anna Margret-Mrs. Allen Yoder and Sara Marie), one brother (Stephen), and 2 sisters (Sadie-Mrs. Leroy Hartzler and Effie-Mrs. Norman Glick). She was a member of the Locust Grove Church, where funeral services were held March 25, in charge of Louis Peachey, John B. Zook, and Erie Renno.

Rhodes, Hettie Dora, daughter of Solomon D. and Susanna C. (Weaver) Heatwole, was born near Dayton, Va., Nov. 26, 1880; died at her home near Montezuma, Va., Jan. 20, 1963; aged 82 y. 1 m. 25 d. On Jan. 11, 1900, she was married to John A. Rhodes. Surviving are 2 daughters (Ressie-Mrs. Frank D. Heatwole and Annie-Mrs. Eli D. Heatwole), 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (William E. and Calvin T.), and one sister (Mary-Mrs. Earl E. Showalter). Riehl, Mary Emma, daughter of Jacob and Barbara (Basinger) Knopp, was born in Mahoning Co., Ohio, Feb. 15, 1866; died at the Akron (Ohio) General Hospital, Feb.12, 1963; aged 96 y. 11 m. 25 d. Her first husband, J. M. Sitler, died in 1914. In 1925 she was married to John S. Riehl, who served as a minister at Leetonia, Ohio, for many years and who died in 1958. Surviving are 3 stepdaughters (Mrs. John H. Jones, Mrs. John C. Eschliman, and Mrs. L. J. Mellinger), one stepson (Elmer J. Riehl), one sister, and one brother. She was a member of the Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the Leetonia Church, Feb.15 (her 97th birthday), in charge of Allen Ebersole; burial in Midway Cemetery near Columbiana.

Shantz, Aldred, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Amos Shantz, died at his home in Waterloo Twp., Ont., March 21, 1963; aged 74 y. 5 m.
22 d. On Sept. 2, 1914, he was marrled to Nettie Gimbel, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Lloyd and Ward), one sister (Mrs. Edna Martin), and 8 grandchildren. One sister predeceased him. On Nov. 23, 1921, she was married to David M. Stoltzfus, who survives. Also surviving are 9 daughters and 2 sons (Mildred-Mrs. Raymond C. Yoder, Esther-Mrs. J. Teets, Millie A., was born at Mathias, W. Va., April 24, 1881; died at her home near Lost River, W. Va., March 17, 1963; aged 81 y. 10 m. 12 d. On June 25, 1899, she was married to John G. Teets, who died in 1936. Surviving are 3 children (Mrs. Mable Albright, Raymond, and Melvin, with whom she made her home), 5 grandchildren, 3 sisters and one brother (Mrs. Annie Miller, Mrs. Mary Folk, Eleva, and Walter). Wideman, Sarah B., daughter of Amos and Mary (Detweiler) Brubaker, was born near Brutus, Mich., Sept. 8, 1886; died at Tofield, Alta., March 16, 1963; aged 76 y. 6 m. 8 d. On May 19, 1904, she was married to William Wideman, who died Jan. 19, 1938. One son also preceded her in death. Troyer, Elida, Ohio, March 2, 1963; aged 81 y. 10 m. 18 d. On Jan. 14, 1902, she was married to Enoch J. Zook, who died Jan. 11, 1962. She served faithfully at the Maple Grove Church as a minister's and bishop's wife for many years. Surviving are 3 daughters (Ethel-Mrs. M. L. Troyer, Sara-Mrs. Merle W. Eshleman, and Mary Emma-Mrs. Chester Shank), 2 sons (Orren W. and E. Homer), one sister (Mrs. Amanda Kauffman), one brother (Harvey), 10 grandchilden, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at the Harter and Son Funeral Home, Delphos, Ohio, March 3, in charge of Ivan Weaver, for the community in which she had lived the last months of her life, and at the Sharp Funeral Home, New Wilmington, Pa., March 5, in charge of Nathan Nussbaum, Merle W. On Sept. 3, 1938, she was married to Harvey Brubacher, who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1962. Sur-viving are one stepson (Ivan), 4 stepdaughters (Nora- Mrs. Leonard Bechtel, Ella-Mrs. Mau-rice Woolner, Verna-Mrs. Fred Staniek, and Elaine), one brother (Abie), and one sister (Mrs. Gertrude Smith). Detweiler, Alfred A., son of Mahlon D., and Malinda (Alderfer) Detweiler, was born in West Rockhill Twp., Pa.; died at his home in Souderton, Pa., March 29, 1963, after a long illness; aged 65 y. He was married to Marietta Freed, who died in 1960. On Aug. 7, 1923, he was ordained to the ministry, and served the Rockhill Church for almost 40 years. Surviving are his second wife (Edna Kulp), 2 daughters (Margaret-Mrs. Marvin Stinley and Mae-Mrs. Norman S. Godshall), 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 3 brothers (Jacob A., Howard A., and Norman A.), one sister (Mrs. Norman G. Yoder), and 2 stepchildren. Elliot, Ivan D., son of John G. and Sylvia L. Elliot, was born Aug. 3, 1892, near Madisonburg, Ohio; died at the Wooster (Ohio) Com-munity Hospital, March 10, 1963; aged 70 y. 7 m. 7 d. His wife and only daughter preceded him in death. Surviving are 5 grand-children and 2 brothers (Newell J. and H. Bayne). He was a member of the Crown Hill Church, Rittman, Ohio. Gingrich, Mary M., daughter of Nathan and Clara (Holdeman) Weaver, was born near Goshen, Ind., April 16, 1902; died of heart disease at Goshen, Ind., March 29, 1963; aged 60 y. 11 m. 13 d. On Sept.14, 1927, she was married to John E. Gingrich, who sur-vives. Also surviving are one daughter (C. Kay), one brother (Floyd W.), and 3 sisters (Laura-Mrs. Oscar Troyer, Pauline-Mrs. Her-man Schrock, and Christine). One daughter preceded her in death. Kanagy, Eli E., son of Eli H. and Nancy (Hartzler) Kanagy, was born in Mifflin Co., Pa., Dec.12, 1900; died at his home in Orrville, Ohio, April 4, 1963; aged 62 y. 3 m. 23 d. He suffered a heart attack on Oct. 18, 1960, and was confined to his home since then. On March 1, 1931, he was married to Florence Steiner, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter (Mrs. Ivan Chupp), an adopted son (Kenneth), a foster daughter (Annabelle Shindeldecker), several other children who spent years in their home, 3 grandchildren, and 2 brothers (Pius and Isaiah). An infant son, one infant daughter, one sister, his twin brother and 2 other brothers preceded him in death. He was a member of the Crown Hill Church, Rittman, Ohio, where funeral services were held April 7, with John M. Drescher, Wilmer Hartman, and Noah Hilty officiating.

Landis, Emma S., daughter of John and Catherine (Shoemaker) Nice, was born in Franconia Twp., Pa., Aug. 9, 1876; died at Sellersville, Pa., Feb. 28, 1963; aged 86 y. 6 m. 19 d. On Feb. 22, 1896, she was married to Abram L. Landis, who died March 13, 1946. Surviving are one daughter (Lizzie Etta), one son (Willis), 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grand-children, and a nephew who lived in her home for 12 years (Garret M. Nice). Two sons, one daughter, 6 brothers, and one sister also preceded her in death. She was a mem-ber of the Salford Church, where funeral services were held March 4, in charge of Henry L. Roggie, Eliza, daughter of Andrew and Catherine (Nafziger) Oesch, was born in Glass Co., Kans., Oct. 16, 1886; died at the Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, N.Y., Feb. 18, 1963; aged 76 y. 4 m. 2 d. On Dec. 30, 1913, she was married to Joseph N. Roggie, who died March 28, 1930. Surviving are 3 sons (Ernest, Elvin, and Lansing), 2 daughters (Alfredia-Mrs. Alvin Schneider and Therena-Mrs. Vernon Slye), and 20 grandchildren. One son and 2 brothers preceded her in death. She was a member of the Geiger Church, where funeral services were held April 4, in charge of Glenn R. Horst and Osiah Horst.

Shantz, Ervin B., son of Jacob E. and Lydia (Bowman) Shantz, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Sept. 17, 1878; died at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Galt, Ont., March 13, 1963; aged 84 y. 5 m. 24 d. On Feb.18, 1903, he was married to Louisa Baer, who died Dec. 31, 1962. Surviving are 2 sons (Clarence and Lester), 2 daughters (Vera and Gladys-Mrs. Arnold Gingrich), 6 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was a member of the Preston Church, and a very active lay member of the Mennonite Conference of Ontario. Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, March 16, in charge of Merle Shantz and Harold Mast.

Stutzman, James, son of Joseph and Barbara (Troyer) Stutzman, was born at Shickley, Nebr., June 6, 1895; died suddenly of a heart ailment at his home, Schwenksville, Pa., Feb. 1, 1963; aged 67 y. 7 in. 26 d. On June 14, 1924, he was married to Edith Gross, who survives. Also surviving are 6 sons and 3 daughters (James, Jr., Kenneth, Marlowe, Merle, Donald, Dale, Mary Ellen, Sara Jean, and Lorraine-Mrs. Ben W. Myers), 9 grandchildren, one brother (Lloyd), and one sister (Ellen-Mrs. Eldon Miller). One daughter, one grandson, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of the Salford Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 5, in charge of Henry L. Ruth and Willis Miller.

Weber, Lloyd David, son of Abel G. and Ida (Benner) Weber, was born April 16, 1938; died at the home of his parents Feb.17, 1963; aged 24 y. 10 in. 1 d. He had been an invalid since birth. Surviving are his parents and 4 half brothers (Lester C., Elvin N., John L., and Richard C.). Funeral service were held at the Ephrata Church, Feb. 20, in charge of Mahlon Zimmerman and J. Elvin Martin; in-terment in Metzler's Cemetery.

Yoder, Ivan, son of Moses and Elizabeth (Coblentz) Yoder, was born near Wolford, N. Dak., April 8, 1915; died at his home in Wolford, April 2, 1963; aged 47 y. 11 in. 25. On Dec. 25, 1938, he was married to Pearl Villiard, who survives. To this union 8 chil-dren were born (Donna Lou, Herald Duane, Iva Marlene, Irvin LaVon, Merle Dwight, Larry Ivan, Opal Viola, and Evangeline Kay). Two children preceded him in death. Surviv-ing are 6 children, 3 brothers, and one sister. He was a member of the Lakeview Church, where funeral services were held April 5, in charge of E. D. Hershberger and Eli G. Hoch-stetler.

Yoder, Jason Glen, son of John Y. and Rebecca (Swartzendruber) Yoder, was bern near Parnell, Iowa, June 6, 1891; died of a heart attack in Mexico, across from McAllen, Texas, March 26, 1963; aged 71 y. 9 m. 20 d. On Sept. 9, 1914, he was married to Mary Schlabaugh, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter and 2 sons (Marjorie-Mrs. Paul T. Guengerich, Wilbur, and John Dale), one sister (Ethel-Mrs. Irving Bender), and 10 grandchildren. He was a member of the East Union Church, Kalona, Iowa, where funeral services were held March 31, in charge of A. Lloyd Swartzendruber, John Y. Swartzendru-ber, and J. John J. Miller.

Yousey, Mary, daughter of Daniel and Lena Moser, was born March 19, 1884; died at her home in Castorland, N.Y., March 10, 1963; aged 78 y. 11 m. 10 d. On Jan. 14, 1904, she was married to David Yousey, who survives. They had observed their 59th wedding anniversary. Also surviving are 2 daughters (Verna-Mrs. Reuben Roggie and Bertha-Mrs. Samuel Roggie), 2 sons (Ezra and Elmer), 2 brothers (Daniel and Andrew), 27 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, one sister, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild preceded her in death. She was a member of the Conservative Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held March 13, in charge of Elias Zehr and Richard Zehr.

Anders, Jeremiah C., son of John and Susan (Clemens) Anders, was born in Gwynedd Twp., Pa., in May, 1866; died at the Rockhill Mennonite Home, Sellersville, Pa., March 22, l963; he would have been 97 years old in May. He was married to Fannie Fretz, who preceded him in death. He was the oldest member of the Towamencin congregation. Surviving are 9 children (Arthur, Leroy, Edna-Mrs. Herbert Knechel, Clayton, Norman, Alvin, Wilson, Susie-Mrs. Vincent Moyer, and Margaret-Mrs. Raymond Stoneback), 42 grandchildren, 129 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. One son preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the Towamencin Church, in charge of Ellis Mack and Harold Fly.

Shenk, Barbara, daughter of C. C. and Christina (Good) CuIp, was born near Elida, Ohio, Jan. 29, 1894; died Feb. 4, 1963; aged 69 y. 6 d. On Dec. 17, 1911, she was married to Jacob B. Shenk, who died Sept. 15, 1960. Surviving are 7 sons and 4 daughters (Merlin, Nellie-Mrs. Hermon Heinrich, Alice-Mrs. Vernon Hertzler, Warren, Oral, Tim, Cretora-Mrs. Roland Alexander, Esther-Mrs. Milo Bastian, Lester, Edward and William), 3 sisters and one brother (Mrs. Ada Berry, Mrs. Elizabeth Hartzler, Mrs. Rebecca Kurtz, and John) and 22 grandchildren. One son and an infant daughter preceded her in death. For 20 years she was practically helpless after suffering from a stroke. She was a member of the Pike Church, where funeral services were held, in charge of Paul Smith and Harold Good; burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
