Calvin Paul Troyer, 76, widower of Mary Ellen (Miller)
Troyer, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at his
residence.
Mr. Troyer was born in Kempsville, Virginia on August 21, 1949, son of the
late Ezra and Amanda (Kramer) Troyer.
Mr. Troyer was a former pastor of Olive Branch Christian Church. A true jack
of all trades, Calvin had a gift for fixing anything that was broken. He
also found great joy in the outdoors, going on rides with his youngest
daughter, and tending his garden.
Surviving, are two sons, Jonathan Troyer and David Troyer and his wife,
Katrina; three daughters, Rosaline K. Gutshall and her husband, Christopher,
Darlene F. Lindeman and her husband, Jay, and Desirae J. Troyer; a brother,
Ezra Troyer; a sister, Ruth Yoder; and fifteen grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday,
January 23, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026
at Mt. Zion Cemetery by Pastor Eli Troyer.

Troyer, William J. “Bill”
November 27, 1939 - February 3, 2026
William J. Troyer (Bill) of Harrisonburg, VA passed away
unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3rd at the age of 86. He was born in
Pryor, OK, to Harry and Mary (Mast) Troyer and grew up in Greenwood, DE.
He earned a degree in Accounting from James Madison College while juggling a
growing family, working, and playing tennis on the college team. After
college, Bill began his career in accounting and became a CPA. Bill
put his career on hold to serve for two years in short-term missions in
Brazil. When the family returned from Brazil in 1979, they settled in
Harrisonburg.
A few years later, Bill started his own CPA firm and, even in his
retirement, he continued to work with clients and volunteered his time
generously to the church and several non-profit organizations.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He
was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and lived out his faith daily through
his integrity, generosity and kindness. His church community was an
important part of his life and he and Chris faithfully attended and served
at the Church of the Nazarene for 47 years. Bill played tennis,
enjoyed bowling and always strived to have the most beautiful lawn on the
block.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Christine (Kurtz) Troyer, his
daughter, Kimberly Miller and husband Paul, of Fishersville, daughter Lori
O’Nan, and husband Sid, of Robards, KY, grandchildren Erin Kirk (Joshua) and
Shane O’Nan of Lexington, KY, William A. Troyer of Waynesboro, Jennica
Miller of Spring Hill, TN, and step-grandchildren Jared Miller (Erica),
Jolene Miller, Ben Miller (Brooke), John Miller (Kimberly), Stephanie
Miller, and Janelle Greenmun (Jeff), eleven step-great-grandchildren, his
sister Linda Miller and brother-in-law Leonard Beachy and numerous nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Beachy and brother-in-law
Allen Miller.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 10:30
a.m. at Harrisonburg Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Weavers
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m.
until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jeanne (Howard)
May 1, 1947 - March 3, 2024
Marjorie Jeanne Howard Vlasits (Margie), 76, died
peacefully, surrounded with love on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at her home in
Keezletown, VA, after a 19-year battle with multiple myeloma. She fought
hard and surpassed all expectations. Her rest is well earned.
Margie was born May 1, 1947, in Sayre, PA, the second child of Francis
William Howard and Mary “Eloise” (Powers) Howard (both deceased). Margie is
survived by her siblings: sister, Mary Frances Howard and brothers; Paul
Alan Howard (Maggie DiSandro) and William Reid Howard (Stephanie Howard).
Margie graduated from Bradford High School (Bradford, PA) in 1965. She
graduated from Mansfield State College in 1970 with a degree in home
economics. Mansfield is where she met Guy Vlasits. They married on July 27,
1968 and were married for 55 years. They settled in the southern tier of New
York where they raised their three children; Jeanine Marie Underwood (Donnie
Underwood), Stacy Guy Vlasits (Jennifer Graber) and Julie Joy Westfall
(Michael Westfall) in addition to 11 foster children and innumerable “bonus”
children. If someone was hurting or in need of “momming,” Margie was there
and ready to embrace them as one of her own.
In 1983, Margie took a job working at HELPLINE, a phone line for people in
crisis in Corning, NY. Margie was an active participant in Corning Community
Mennonite Fellowship and the Voluntary Service Coordinator for Mennonite
Voluntary Service in Corning, NY.
Margie and family moved to Virginia in 1989. Margie worked part time at
Choice Books and Mennonite Media. She was an active participant in the
Family of Hope House Church.
Margie was an avid gardener, home decorator, seamstress, wallpaper hanger,
baker, and cook. She loved travel, exploring, nature, hiking, art, history
and music. She was an avid reader and absorber of information. She loved
connecting with people of all countries and cultures.
In 2003, Margie opened a bed and breakfast in her home at The Old
Massanutten Lodge. She designed and decorated three beautiful rooms and then
welcomed people into her dining room to experience her gourmet breakfasts.
This was her passion for 14 years and when she sold the Lodge and downsized
to the house in the field where she continued to welcome guests into her two
Airbnb rooms. Her last gracious guest checked out of the B&B a few days
before Margie’s death.
Margie's passion for her grandchildren and her love of gardening were often
brought together in tractor rides, digging in the dirt and examining the
wonders of the natural world.
Margie (Mimi) is beloved by her grandchildren; Sabrina Sonifrank (Benny
James Sonifrank, III “BJ”), Tanner Westfall, Antonia Underwood, Alex
Underwood, Martin Vlasits, Sasha M. Vlasits and her great grandson, “Ben”
Benny James Sonifrank, IV.
Margie is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews, foster
children and chosen family and friends.
A Celebration of Life is planned at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 27, 2024,
at The Barn at Klines Mill, 5379 Klines Mill Road, Linville, VA 22834. The
celebration will be conducted outside, weather permitting.

Wagler, Duane
October 16, 1949 - February 13, 2023
Duane Wagler 73, of Lamar, Indiana died on February 13,
2023 at Scenic Hills in Ferdinand.
Duane was born on October 16, 1949 in Loogootee, Indiana to Joseph H. and
Ada Marie (Stoll) Wagler. He worked for Kennedy Farms. He enjoyed fishing,
farming playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Pattie (Halbleib) Wagler, a son
Jeremy D. (Melissa) Wagler, grandchildren Emma Grace and Elise Faith Wagler,
Shane and Skyler Staples, brothers Larry (Mary) Wagler, Marvin ‘Pid’ (Diane)
Wagler, Mary (Ezra) Wagler, Wilma Jean (Amos Jr. 'Jim') Knepp, Barbara
(Enos) Wagler, Anna Mae (Ora S.) Wagler, in laws James and Rebecca Halbleib
as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday February 18 at 12 PM Noon till 6 PM EST at the
First Mennonite Church at 8002 E. Co. Rd. 550 N., Montgomery, IN. 47558.

Mary Ruth Wagler, 31, of Loogootee, passed away on Monday,
November 8, 2021 at her home.
She was born June 18, 1990 in Washington, Indiana to Galen and Barbara
(Graber) Wagler.
Mary was an employee of Graber Post since graduating from Barr-Reeve High
School in 2009. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Ida Wagler and John
Graber.
Mary is survived by her parents, Galen and Barbara (Graber) Wagler;
siblings, Jennifer Wagler, J.R. (Janice) Wagler, Jessica (Jeremy) Miller,
Julie (Larry Jr.) Graber, Jamie (Richard) Yoder and Timothy Wagler;
grandmother, Alta Graber.
She lived a full life loving and spoiling on her nieces and nephews: Hunter,
Carson and Bentley Yoder, Kyleigh and Kenzie Wagler, Donnie, Wyatt and Josh
Miller, Jaylon, Kiera, Hallie and Barrett Graber.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at
First Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in the church
cemetery.

Wagler, Merle Eugene
September 18, 1973 - December 13, 2024
Merle Eugene Wagler, 51, of Loogootee, passed away Friday,
December 13th, 2024, at 6:18 pm EST.
He was born September 18, 1973, in Washington, Indiana, to the late Lester
K. “Murphy” and Ida Mae (Knepp) Wagler.
Merle married Angela Yoder, daughter of Cletus and Josephine Yoder, on May
22, 1999.
He was a loving husband, beloved father, and cherished papaw. He always had
a smile on his face, and everyone he met was his friend. Merle loved many
things, but he especially enjoyed soaking up “God’s beautiful creation” by
watching a sunset, sitting by a campfire, or drinking a cup of his 100%
Colombian coffee. He selflessly poured hours of care into his employees and
customers through his business. He was an active member at Living Waters
Church.
Merle was preceded in death by his parents, Lester K. and Ida Mae Wagler;
brothers, stillborn brother and Gary Wagler; brother-in-law Levi Dean
Graber; and two nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Wagler; children:, Tori (David) Troyer,
Tristan Wagler, Maggie Wagler, Clayton Wagler, Kavan Wagler, Shaylee Wagler,
Keenan Wagler, Keeliegh Wagler, Ariah Wagler, Trigg Wagler, Legend Wagler,
Ida Malaya Wagler, Briar Wagler; his grandchildren, Hadassah Troyer and
Monte Troyer; his siblings, Karen Graber, Dale Wagler, Janet (Steve) Wagler,

Walters, Emily (Nuss)
June 12, 1930 - June 26, 2021
Emily Nuss Walters went to be with the Lord on Saturday,
June 26, 2021 at the age of 91 years. She was the daughter of the late W
LeRoy and Emily Berge Nuss and grew up in North Wales. She was married to
Robert Walters in 1950 and together the enjoyed over 70 years of loving
marriage. Having grown up in town and as an only child, she quickly had to
adjust to life on a dairy farm and a large family, as 5 children were born
in the span of 6 years. She gained a sister only after her first child was
born. After her husband Bob was called to the ministry, she faithfully
served the church as a pastors wife for 36 years at Steel City, Line
Lexington and Whitehall Mennonite Churches. This often included preparing
meals for last minute guests. Emily was a great cook and the whole family
looked forward to going to Nannys for family dinners that she cooked for
birthdays and holidays, especially the spread she prepared for New Years
Eve. She also served as cook and first mate as she and her husband chartered
and sailed. Emily had a love for flowers and enjoyed making flower
arrangements.
Survivors: In addition to her devoted husband Robert, she will be remembered
by a sister Pam Difabrizio; three daughters Dawn (husband Ken, deceased)
Wilt, Susie and husband Dave Kempf and Becky and husband Guy Lesser; two
sons Mark and wife Nancy Walters and Tim and wife Lisa Walters; 13
grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her
whole family and all the people whose lives she has touched over the years.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday June 30,
2021 at Steel City Mennonite Church, 2137 Mixsell Avenue Bethlehem, PA
18015. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00
P.M. at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA

Waybill, Nelson Noel
March 7, 1928 - February 16, 2026
Nelson Noel Waybill passed away peacefully on Monday,
February 16, 2026, at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community (VMRC) in
Harrisonburg, VA.
Nelson was born in Muskegon Heights, Michigan on March 7, 1928, the son of
Osee O. and Vivian Viola (Nelson) Waybill. When Nelson was age four, his
father died from tuberculosis, and his mother relocated the family to her
home town of White Cloud, Michigan, where Nelson grew up.
After attending Goshen College for one year, Nelson served with the
Mennonite Central Committee PAX program in Europe from 1952-1954, building
homes for refugees and doing flood clean-up in Holland. While working
in Holland, he first became acquainted with Marjorie A. Yoder, who was
volunteering in the work camp as part of a student tour experience.
On August 18, 1956 Nelson and Marjorie were married. Nelson graduated from
Goshen College in 1958. He accepted a position with the Mennonite Publishing
House in Scottdale, PA, serving until 1996 as Director of Personnel and
Church and Community Service. During his tenure at Mennonite Publishing
House, he obtained an MBA degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Nelson and Marjorie were actively involved in Kingview Mennonite Church,
where they were members for 41 years. In March, 2000, Nelson and Marjorie
moved to VMRC and quickly settled into their new community. They became
members of Lindale Mennonite Church.
Nelson was exceedingly kind, with a smile for all and a dry wit. He had many
diverse interests. He enjoyed singing, acting, and writing. He participated
in the Heritage Singers productions in Scottdale and wrote two of their
plays. While living in Harrisonburg, he was an active member of the
Rockingham Male Chorus. He continued to enjoy writing, authoring 5 volumes
of poetry, skits, and short stories during his years at VMRC.
Nelson and Marjorie were married for 68 years. They enjoyed gardening, daily
walks, and volunteering together. They especially loved exploring new
places, and traveled extensively in their RV (“the little house”) across the
United States and Canada. Above all, they treasured time with
their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Nelson is survived by sons Peter Waybill (Mary) of Hershey, PA, and Steven
Waybill (Susan) of Staunton, VA; daughters Lois Alderfer (Steven) of Faber,
VA, and Rebecca Waybill of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Katherine, Kathleen,
David, Christopher, Elizabeth, Joshua, and Andrew; and great- grandchildren
Lily, Theo, Asher, Natalia, Claire and Adeline. He is preceded in death by
his parents; his wife, Marjorie; his brother, Lawrence Waybill; and his
sisters, Grace Boren, Carol Fox and Donna Carlson.
A private family service is planned.

Weaver, Mabel Zimmerman
November 10, 1937 - January 6, 2026
Mabel Z. Weaver, 88, of East Earl, died at home on Tuesday,
January 6, 2026. Born in Lancaster on November 10, 1937, she was the
daughter of the late Christian and Lydia Sensenig. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Raymond M. Weaver.
Mabel was a member of Centerville Mennonite Church. She enjoyed quilting,
baking, and also had helped her late husband operate a roadside produce
stand for many years.
She is survived by her children, Marlene, wife of Lester Groff of Ephrata,
Nelson, husband of Esther (High) of East Earl, Sanford, husband of Linda
(Stoltzfus) of New Holland, Nancy, wife of Carl Martin of Lititz, Mark,
husband of Lorraine (Horst) of Womelsdorf, Pearl Good of Lititz, Ruthie,
wife of Mike Weaver of Quarryville, Jay, husband of Sharon (Weber) of East
Earl, and Roseann, wife of Darvin Rutt of Denver, 33 grandchildren, and 36
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Verna Weaver, 3
grandchildren, Amber, Brianna, and Dwayne, a brother, Amos Sensenig, and 3
sisters, Emma Wenger, Frances Martin and Verna Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be held at Centerville Mennonite Church, 201 Sensenig
Rd., East Earl, on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. with Bishop Harold
Good, Bishop Wilmer Weaver, Mervin Burkholder, Brenden Weaver and Roy
Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. A
viewing will be held at the church on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Kindly omit

Weaver, Mark Weber
August 28, 1943 - January 25, 2026
Mark Weber Weaver slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus on
Sunday, January 25, with his wife by his side. He is survived by his wife,
Darlene, and their son, Matthew, as well as 4 brothers – Carl (Sharon), Dave
(Sue), Dale (Jannie) and Dan (Kristi) and 2 sisters – Naomi (Ray) Ressler
and Lois Weaver (Carl Kallansrud). He is survived by one grandson, Aiden
Weaver, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Mark was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to David and Ida Weaver and
grew up in Alabama and Mississippi. Mark met his wife Darlene at Hesston
College in 1967 and they married on June 6, 1969. Matthew joined their
family in April of 1982.
Mark and his wife served with Mission Aviation Fellowship in the Belgian
Congo, Central Africa from 1973 - 1989. When they returned to the US, Mark
taught at WATC as an aircraft maintenance instructor. Mark raised beef
cattle and enjoyed life on the farm. He was an active member of Hesston
Mennonite Church. After retiring, Mark and Darlene enjoyed RVing around the
United States, exploring the world God created and were able to serve with
Mennonite Disaster Service in Florida for a couple of months.
Mark enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved a good
story – especially ones that reminded him of growing up in the South or of
his time spent flying in Africa with MAF. He loved his family well and was
confident in the faithfulness and goodness of God.
A memorial service is planned for 11:00am on Saturday, February 7th at
Hesston Mennonite Church followed by a lunch. A private family burial will
take place at Eastlawn Cemetery later in the day.

Weaver, Samuel Horton
May 1, 1930 - February 17, 2023
With great sadness as well as great joy, the family of Samuel
Horton Weaver announces that he went to be with The Lord on
Friday, February 17, 2023. He passed away peacefully at home with family in
The Woodlands, Texas at age 92.
Sam was born on May 1, 1930 in Champaign, Illinois to Findley and Adela (nee
St. Clair) Weaver. He was a life-long student and received a bachelor’s
degree in history from Cambridge University in London, England, a Master’s
degree in history from Columbia University and a doctorate in American
history from American University in Washington, DC, and a Master’s in
Business Administration from Ohio University.
Much of Sam’s early career was spent working in various capacities for the
U.S. government, including the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. He
started working for the U.S. Foreign Service in 1955 and was stationed at
the U.S. embassy in Ecuador from 1958-1960 and in Brazil from 1961-1963,
then in the Latin American section of the Bureau of Intelligence and
Research at the U. S. State Department. Sam taught at Ohio University
Eastern campus in St. Clairsville, Ohio from 1969-1994, then did part-time
teaching until 2002, when he finally retired. He initially taught American
history, but also taught business and accounting courses. He also did
occasional work as a Certified Public Accountant.
Sam married Helen Wiens in 1967 in Washington, DC. They moved to St.
Clairsville and lived there for 25 years while raising 2 boys. After Sam
retired from full-time teaching at Ohio University, he and Helen moved to
Harrisonburg, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. They were married for 45
years until Helen’s death in 2012. Sam met Margaret B. Gibson in 2015 and
after a yearlong courtship they were married in October 2016 in The
Woodlands, Texas. They enjoyed 6 years together until Margaret’s death in
July 2022.
Hiking, canoeing, and gardening were some of the outdoor activities that Sam
enjoyed, especially with family. His principal hobby was researching family
history, including writing several articles about the Weaver and Wiens
families. He accessed genealogical information on trips to the Library of
Congress or National Archives, and later by using a computer to access the
internet. Sam also enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends,
and gave generously of his time to the churches and communities to which he
belonged throughout his life.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Findley and Adela Weaver, and his
sisters Margaret Weaver and Marian Cook.
Sam is survived by his sons, Michael Weaver (Ivy Moore) in The Woodlands, TX
and Matt Weaver in Plano, TX. Grandchildren are Nicholas and MacKenzie
Weaver in The Woodlands, TX. His step-children are Richard Gibson in Port
Orange, FL, Mike Gibson (Carol) in Brooksville, FL, and Gina Growden (Dana)
in Tomball, TX. His surviving sisters are Nancy Evans in Cambridge, England
and Nina Wedell in Longtown, Wales.
A memorial service will he held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10am at
Forest Park – The Woodlands funeral home at 18000 Interstate 45 South, The
Woodlands, TX 77384. This will be followed by refreshments at the home of
Michael Weaver and Ivy Moore in The Woodlands. Another memorial service will
be held at Park View Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, VA in late Spring
2023.

Weaver, Samuel O.

Reverend Samuel O. Weaver, 91, a resident of Virginia
Mennonite Retirement Community passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at
Brunk House.
Samuel Weaver was born on February 22, 1934 in Lancaster, PA. He was
the son of the late Martin Lloyd and Sara Stoner Oberholtzer Weaver.
In 1948, Sam and his parents moved to Newport News, VA.
He graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School (Harrisonburg, VA). In
1954, he married Sarah Marie Alderfer (deceased). They were members of
Warwick River Mennonite Church and Sam was chaplain of the young peoples
group called Literary. From 1955 to 1957, Sam & Sarah lived in
Dover, DE while Sam was in 1W Alternative Service as a milk tester. From
1957 to 1963, Sam worked for Colony Farms Dairy (Newport News, VA). In 1963,
Sam (and family) moved to Rockingham County, VA to attend Eastern Mennonite
College (EMC) and he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social
Science and Bible. From 1965 to 1975, Sam served as assistant pastor
at Lindale Mennonite Church in Edom, VA. In 1966, he was ordained as a
minister at Warwick River Mennonite Church in Newport News on loan to
Lindale Mennonite Church.
After college graduation, from 1966 to 1968, Sam worked as Dean of Men at
EMC and as Virginia Mennonite Conference Youth Minister. From 1968 to
1969, Sam taught at Eastern Mennonite High School and was pastor of students
while getting his Master’s Degree at James Madison College. From 1969 to
1981, he was principal of Eastern Mennonite High School. From 1981 to
1991, Sam was employed as executive secretary of Virginia Mennonite
Conference where he worked with congregations in Virginia, West Virginia,
North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky. From 1991 to retirement
in 2012, he worked for Eastern Mennonite University and Seminary in
development and church relations. Also during this time from 1996 to
2009, Sam was an Overseer of Northern District for Virginia Mennonite
Conference. He was a member of Lindale Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg
Rotary Club, AFP (Association of Fund Raising Professionals) and a life
member of NEA (National Education Association).
Sam enjoyed visiting with family and friends! He enjoyed serving the
Lord along with his wife, Sarah. He had a special place in his heart
for Hebron Mennonite Church. His hobbies were golfing with family and
friends, church work, and watching golf or football on TV.
Sam Weaver is survived by his daughters, Janet Fern Weaver and Doris Ann
Weaver Leaman (Steve, deceased), and son, Michael Dale Weaver
(Rachel). Five grandchildren: Michelle Leaman Richards (Ryland),
Jonathan Leaman (Angela), Julie Weaver, Jenna Weaver Landis (Micaiah) and
Jameson Weaver. Four great-grandchildren: Hannah Richards, David
Richards, Evan Richards, and Sarah Sophia Leaman. Three foster
great-grandchildren: Sheray, Ian and Hailey. Sisters-in-law Dorcas
Alderfer Schaefer (Wally, deceased), and Kathryn Alderfer Baer
(Nelson). He was preceded in death by sister Sara Jane Weaver Wenger
(Chester, deceased) and brothers M. Lloyd Weaver, Jr. (Sarah, deceased) and
Kenneth Weaver (June, deceased), foster brother Ronald David (Susan),
sister-in-law Myrna Alderfer, and brothers-in-law Richard Alderfer (Lois
Ziegler Alderfer Fisher) and Harold Alderfer (Elaine, deceased).
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 7 at
Lindale Mennonite Church with Reverend Owen Burkholder and Pastor Arlen
Vernava officiating. Visitation will be before the service at the
church from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

Weaver, Simon A
September 3, 1951 - February 19, 2026
Simon A. Weaver was born September 3, 1951, in Iowa City,
the son of Alvin H. and Verna (Miller) Weaver and went to school through the
8th grade. On June 19, 1975, he married Barbara Bontrager in Kalona. He was
a faithful member of Sharon Bethel Church. Simon was a farmer along with
doing other jobs throughout his lifetime. He loved family history and would
spend hours researching ancestry. In his later years he struggled with a lot
of health problems. Simon passed away peacefully at Iowa Health Care
Downtown Campus in Iowa City after weeks of health battles.
Survivors include two daughters: Mary Beth (Kenneth) Miller of Kalona and
Rebecca Ann Weaver of Kalona and six grandchildren: Dustin Miller, Trevor
Miller, Christopher Miller, Mariah (Micah) Zook, Wyatt Miller and Layla Jo
Miller; a great grandson Greyson Michael Miller. He was preceded in death by
his parents and wife: Barbara
Funeral Service will be 9:30 am Monday, February 23, 2026, at Fairview
Mennonite Church rural Kalona. Burial will be at Sharon Bethel Cemetery
rural Kalona. Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm
Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Fairview Mennonite Church and visitation
will be 1:30 to 3:30 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 22, 2026, at
Fairview Mennonite Church.

Webb, Roberta Anna (Morgan)
January 7, 1889 - December 20, 1990
Roberta Anna Morgan Webb, 101, died Dec. 20, 1990, at Oak
Lea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg, where she had lived since 1966.
Mrs. Webb had taught school at Elkton and the former Effinger Street School
in Harrisonburg.
She was born in Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 7, 1889, and was a daughter of the late
Goings and Helen Wilder Morgan.
She graduated from Hampton Institute in 1909.
In addition to teaching school, Mrs. Webb had operated a nursing home in her
home for 10 years.
She had been active in the NAACP, PTAs, and groups within the Broad Street
Mennonite Church, of which she was a member.
Her husband, John M. Webb, died in January 1942.
Surviving are two children, Margaret “Peggy” Webb Howard of Big Spring,
Texas, and Ada Louise Roberta Webb Walker of Lawton, Okla.; four grandsons;
six great-granddaughters; and a number of step-grandchildren and
step-great-grandchildren.
The Revs. Howard Ropp and Richard Weaver will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m.
Sunday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home. Burial will be in Newtown
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The family also will receive friends at Mrs. Webb’s former home, 471 Broad
St., Harrisonburg.

Weber, Arlene H. (Miller)
September 24, 1930 - February 13, 2026
Arlene H. Weber, 95, of Ephrata, passed away on Friday,
February 13, 2026, at Ephrata Manor.
She was born in Landisville to the late David and Edna (Hauck) Miller and
was the wife of John L. Weber, with whom she shared 73 years of marriage.
Arlene worked as a registered nurse for 52 years at Ephrata Community
Hospital. During her time there, she delivered and cared for a lot of
babies, including those in the NICU. She was a member of Hinkletown
Mennonite Church. She enjoyed gardening, butterflies, music, oil painting,
volunteering and traveling with John. She loved times spent with her family.
In addition to her husband Arlene is survived by four children, Janice, wife
of Larry Brown, Joyce, wife of Richard Bomberger, Jeffrey Weber, husband of
Stephanie (Halliday), Jalisa, wife of Bruce Gingrich; 15 grandchildren, 19
great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren; four siblings, Marilyn
Burkhart, James Miller, Fred Miller and Herb Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John F.
Weber; two sisters, Pauline Kreider and Jeanette King; two brothers, Robert
and David Miller.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. Interment
will be private at the convenience of the family.

Hospice and Community Care, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Ethel Marie Rohrer Wenger of Rockingham, VA, passed away
on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her home.
Mrs. Wenger was born on September 5, 1929, in Dayton, VA and was a daughter
of the late William and Annie Jones Rohrer. She was a homemaker and a member
of Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church.
On June 25, 1952, she married Raymond Daniel Wenger, who preceded her in
death on March 10, 1979.
Surviving are her children, Richard Wenger and wife Margaret of Hinton,
Louise Wenger of Rockingham, Barbara Knupp (Don) of Criders, Glendon Wenger
and wife Melissa of Rockingham; daughter-in-law Marietta Wenger; sister,
Annie R. Wenger; a sister-in-law, Ruth Rohrer; 11 grandchildren; and 22
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wenger was also preceded in
death by a son, Eldon Wenger; siblings, Ruby Martin (Paul), Evangeline Horst
(Paul), Gilbert Rohrer (Frances), Hazel Wenger (Paul R), Frank Rohrer
(Hettie), Grace Showalter (Claude), Alice Heatwole (John), Joseph Rohrer
(Reba), Evelyn Wenger (Lloyd), Daniel Rohrer; three infant siblings;
brother-in-law, Neil Wenger; a granddaughter, Tracey Jenkins; and a
grandson-in-law, Kenneth Zimmerman.
The body will be taken to the home of Glendon Wenger, 134 Muddy Creek Road,
Rockingham, where the family will receive friends on Monday, February 2,
from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, February 3,
from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and from 12:30-5:30 p.m.
Ministers of the Church will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on
Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

11, 2008 at his home. He was born in South English, Iowa on October 21, 1919
to Homer Wenger and Velma Cook Wenger. He was preceded in death by his
parents; 1 brother: 1 son-in-law: David; 1 granddaughter: Evelyn Moyer. He
is survived by his wife: Mae Wenger; 1 son: David Wenger; 5 daughters: Lois
(Clarence) Miller, Miram Moyer (widow of the late David Moyer), Martha
(Daniel) Hartzler, Rhoda (David) Beachy and Julia (Joseph) Miller; sister:
Wilma (Paul) Friesen; 14 granddaughters and 11 grandsons; 26 great
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Friday, February 15,
2008 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Darvin Yoder, Daniel Yoder

Mary Ellen Wengerd 68, of Wooster, OH passed away
peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 after an extended
illness.
She was born on July 24, 1957 to the late Levi R. and Sevilla (Weaver)
Miller. On May 27, 1982 she married Roy A. Wengerd who survives.
Mary Ellen was a good cook and also loved working outside in her garden. In
her spare time she enjoyed quilting and doing puzzles.
In addition to her husband Roy she is survived by her children, Martha
(Lester) Miller of Shreve, Andrew (Anna) Wengerd of Dundee, Susan (Leon)
Miller of Dundee, Freda (James) Miller of Sugarcreek and Naomi Wengerd of
the home; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Raymond (Laura) Miller of Maysville,
Ervin Miller of Orrville, Martha (Alvin) Schlabach of Kidron, James (Rachel)
Miller of Sugarcreek; and sisters-in-law, Susan (late David) Miller of
Fredericksburg and Susan (Wayne) Mast of Sugarcreek.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two
grandchildren, Kevin Miller and Grace Miller; and two brothers, Levi ""Bun""
Miller Jr. and David Miller.
Funeral services will be held at Gospel Haven Mennonite Church, 6871 SR 241,
Millersburg, on Saturday, January 3, at 10:00 AM with pastors Dennis Mullet
and Steve Stutzman officiating. Burial will follow in the Yoder Cemetery.
Friends may call at Gospel Haven Mennonite Church from 6-8 PM on Thursday
and from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday.
