   Coffman, Ella Mann;  


Coffman, Ella Mann

            Mrs. Ella Mann Coffman, 62, a native of Elkhart, who since 1901 had been a resident of Vineland, Ont., died at her home last Saturday, and burial took place at Vineland on Tuesday.
            The funeral was attended by a number of relatives from Elkhart and Goshen.
            Mrs. Coffman was the wife of Bishop Samuel Frederick Coffman, also a former resident of Elkhart.  They went to Vineland in 1901, shortly after their marriage.
            Surviving beside the husband, who is head of the Mennonite Church in his district, are the following children: John, now a student at Goshen college; Barbara, who was a librarian at that college four years prior to her return to Vineland last Christmas because of ill health; Ellen, now in nurses' training at the Mennonite hospital at La Junta, Colo., and Lena and David at the parental home.  There also survive the following brothers and sisters: Rufus K. Mann of Comins, Mich., Mrs. B. B. King of Elida, Ohio, and George Mann, Mrs. A. E. Stauffer, all of Elkhart.
            Mr. and Mrs. Stauffer, Mr. and Mrs. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon David, Mrs. Harry Berkey, Mrs. Saloma Mann, Mr. and Mrs. George Mann, Mrs. Levi Mann and Cleo and Earl Mann, all of Elkhart, attended the funeral.
            Mrs. Coffman, who was the daughter of Christopher and Magdalena Mann, was born Jan. 1, 1873, in Elkhart.  She lived here until young womanhood, and then went to Chicago to be a worker in a Mennonite mission, with which she was connected up to the time of her marriage to Mr. Coffman.
