    Short, Eli P.;   Stauffer, Nancy B. Gingrich 

SHORT, ELI P.

            Eli P. Short was born May 18, 1873, near Archbold, Ohio, died March 4th, 1951, in Miami Beach, Florida, at the age of 77 year, 9 months and 22 days.

On Dec. 29th, 1896, he was united in marriage with EL??? Short, who passed away on Feb. 11th, 1925. To this union were born 9 children: Bertha, Charles, Wilbur, Orvil, Ilva, Elton, Dora, Nola and Rollin.

Besides his companion, there preceded him in death two sons Charles and Elton also one grandson, Wilbur Wayne Short, one brother, Peter C., one sister Katie (Mrs. Charles Crossgrove).

On Dec. 24th, 1935, he wais united in marriage to Lulu McLain. He is survived by his wife, three sons, four daughters one step-daughter, 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, and a host of relatives and friends.

He moved to Florida eight years ago because of ill health. On March 3rd, he was taken to the hospital where he died the following day.

Stauffer, Nancy B. Gingrich


Mrs. Nancy B. Gingrich Stauffer, 41, wife of Adam R. Stauffer, Ephrata, R. 1, near Lincoln, died last Wednesday [Dec. 19, 1951], at 7:45 p.m., at her home after a lingering illness.  She was born in May City, Iowa, a daughter of Elias M. and Rebecca Bauman Gingrich, of Myerstown, and came to Pennsylvania on February 23, 1915.

She was a member of the Springville Mennonite Church.

]In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by these sons and daughters;  Joanna, wife of Noah Zimmerman, Myerstown, R. 2; Erma, wife of Phares Martin, at home; Leon, Elias, Lucinda and Violet Stauffer, all at home.  One granddaughter and these brothers and sisters also survive, Lucinda, wife of David Burkholder, and Elsie, wife fo Adam Burkholder, both of Ephrata, R. 3; Irwin Gingrich, Goodville; Sidney Gingrich and Rachael, wife of John Weaver, both of Myerstown, R. 1; Minerva, wife of Ivan Weaver, Ephrata, R. 2; Miriam, wife of Louis Hurst, Denver, R. 1; Elias Gingrich, Womelsdorf, and Lavina, wife of David Martin, Myerstown, R. 3.

Funeral services were held from the late home, on Sunday at 12:30.
