Stauffer, Eli S.

Eli S. Stauffer,
eighty-two, retired carriage maker, died on Thursday, June 2, [1966] at 1:30 a. m. at his home, at Ephrata R. 3, after a lengthy illness.

He has 134 survivors.  Born in East Earl Township, a son of the late Daniel M. and Susanna Sensenig Stauffer, he was a retired farmer and coach shop operator.  He was a member of the Pike Mennonite Church.  His first wife, Mary Brubacher Stauffer, died in 1947.

\Surviving are his wife, Lydia Brubacher Stauffer, these children, Emma, wife of Levi F. Zimmerman, of New Holland R.1; Daniel, Elizabeth, wife of Paul Sensenig, both of Ephrata R. 3; Mrs. Lydia Bowman of East Earl R. 1; Aaron of New Holland R. 1; Amos, Miss Catherine Stauffer, both of Ephrata R. 3; Phares, of Bergville R. 2; Mary, wife of Horace Stauffer, Susie, wife of Norman Stauffer, both of Ephrata R. 3; and Eli Jr., of New Holland R. 1.

Also surviving are 72 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 40 great Grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters, Bishop Jacob Stauffer, of Ephrata R. 3; Isaac Stauffer, of New Holland R. 2; Sarah, wife of Wilson Martin of New Holland R. 1; and Katie, wife of Raymond Martin, of Ephrata R.3.

Funeral services were held from the late home on Monday at 9 a.m., with further services in the Pike Mennonite Church at 10 a.m.  Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, was in charge.
