SCHROCK - Mrs.
Amanda (Mast) Schrock was born Mar. 5,
1889, in Holmes County, Ohio, and died May 13, 1973, at her home near
Arthur, Ill.; at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 8 days. She was a
member of the Old Order Amish Church. On Dec. 7, 1909, she was united
in marriage to Eli J. Schrock, who died Oct. 24, 1963. They lived in
matrimony 53 years, 10 mo. Surviving her departure are 1 son and 7
daughters: Mrs. Emory C. (Lydian) Gingerich; Mrs. George A. (Sovilla)
Kauffman; Mrs. Simon C. (Sadie) Gingerich; Levi, married to Clara J.
Beachy; Mrs. Jeff A. (Rebecca) Miller; Mrs. Dan M. (Gertie) Mast; Mrs.
Marx S. (Amanda) Miller: Mrs. Levi C. (Edna) Herschberger; 1 brother,
Emanuel L. Mast; 32 grand-children and 52 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded by 5 brothers, 4 sisters, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 16, by Levi G. Miller, Bish. Henry A. Miller and
Bish. Menno S. Miller in the large house; Joe M. Hostetler and Bish.
Abe C. Gingerich in the small house; and Noah S. Beachy and Bish. John
E. Herschberger in the crib. Burial in the Miller Cemetery near Arthur,
Ill.

Schrock- Menno J. of Arthur, Ill.,
son of Joe D. and Anna (Yoder) Schrock, was born July 6, 1888; died
Feb. 13, 1973 at the age of 84 years, 7 months, 7 days. The cause, of
his death was Acute Bronchopneumonia. In his youth he united with the
O.O. Amish, Church, remaining faithfull to the end. On Sept. 30, 1905,
he was united in marriage to Lydia Gingerich, who died Oct. 16, 1924.
On Nov. 22, 1925, he was married to Emma Yutzy, who sur-vives; also 4
sons and 4 daughters: Joe of Archbold, Ohio; Chriss of Arthur, Ill.;
Jake of Berne, Ind.; Dan of Dewey, Ill.; Mrs. Fred (Anna) Mast of
Sullivan, Ill.: Mrs. Dan (Lena) Miller, Mrs. Joas (Bar-bara)
Herschberger, and Mrs. Levi Hochstetler, all of Arthur; also 47
grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; 2 brothers
and 5 sisters: Jake Schrock of Shipshewana, Ind. Joe Schrock of
Humbolt, Ill.; Mrs. Dave (Mattie) Yoder, Mrs. Lizzie Helmuth. Mrs.
Lydia Mast of Arthur; and Mrs. Jake (Susie) Schlabach of Topeka, Ind.,
and many other friends. Services were held Feb. 15, 1973, in the Deac.

Stutzman- Elmer E.,
son of Eli and Mary (Troyer) Stutzman, was born in Jasper Co., Ind.,
July 30, 1889; died in the home of his son Henry near Arthur, Ill., on
Jan, 11, 1973, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 12 days. On Dec.
22, 1910, he was married to Sally Briskey, she passed away Apr. 20,
1951, living in matrimony over 40 years. To this union were born 4
chil-dren: Mrs. Abraham A. (Elizabeth Ann) Schrock of Arthur; Clarence
E. of Sullivan, Ill.; and Wm. Henry of Arthur, Ill.; Melvin died in
infancy.
He was married the second time to Mrs. Mary Ann (Helmuth) Beachy, Nov.
15, 1953; she died Feb. 20, 1968. He leaves to mourn his departure: 1
daughter, 2 sons mentioned above, also 3 step daughters and 5 step
sons, Mrs. Noah (Alpha) Otto, Arcola, Ill.; Mrs. Levi (Sovilla)
Herschberger, Arthur; Mrs. Howard (Nettie) Yoder, Arthur; Harvey S.
Beachy, Lafayette, Ind.; Joas S. Beachy, Middlebury, Ind.; Clarence S.
Beachy, Manitou Beach, Mich.; Floyd S. Beachy, Bethany, Ill.; and Aden
S. Beachy, Goshen, Ind. Also, 18 grand-children, 17
great-grandchildren, 28 step grandchildren, 9 step great-grandchildren.
His parents, 6 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 step son, and 1 daughter-in-law
preceded him in death. Services were held in the Howard Yoder home by
Noah D. Stutzman of Sugarcreek, Ohio, and Mose Nissley of Baltic. Ohio.
Burial in Otto, Cemetery near Arthur.

STUTZMAN.-
Menno L., son of Levi E. and Gertrude (Schrock) Stutzman, of
Arthur, Ill., was born Feb. 11, 1911; died in St. Mary's Hospital, Mar.
15, 1973; at the age of 62 years, 1 month, 4 days. He was a member of
the O. O. Amish Church. He was married to, Anna Mast Dec. 21, 1933, who
survives, also, 1 son, John M. of Arthur; 4 daughters, Mrs. Floyd
(Sovilla) Chupp, Sullivan, Ill., Mrs. Alvin (Gertie Ann) Schrock,
Arthur; Mrs. Joe (Martha) Yoder, Kokomo, Ind.; and Edna at home; 1
brother, Vernon, Tuscola, Ill.; 1 sister, Mrs. William (Rachel) Yutzy,
Arthur; and 15 grandchildren. His parents
and 1 grandson Preceded him. Services
were held in the home Mar. 18, by John A. Schrock, Bishop Henry A
Miller, Bishop Menno Miller. In the basement of his office building, by
William J. Schrock of Wis., and Bishop Will Mast. In a neighbor's
house, by Bishop David D. Schrock and Bishop David J. Beachy, to a
congregation of 6 to 700 people. Burial in Miller Cemetery near Arthur.
Bra. Stutzman owned and operated The Stutzman Feed Mill, and was a
casket maker, having taken care of a funeral 10 days before his own
death.

Swartzentruber - Magdalena, daughter
of Samuel W. and Lovina (Swartzendruber) Bender, was born in Johnson
Co., Iowa, Nov. 8, 1894; and passed away Jan. 18, 1973, in the
Washington County Hospital, Washington, Iowa, where she had been a
patient for nine day, at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 10 days.
Lena (as she was always called) accepted Christ as her Saviour and
united with the O.O. Amish Church, remaining faithful to the end. On
June 2, 1918, she was united in marriage to Enos C. Swartzentruber;
liv-ing in matrimony over 54 years; this be-ing the first death in the
immediate family, except a stillborn grandchild. To this union were
born 3 sons and 4 daughters: Mrs. Emanuel (Barbara) Borntrager; Mrs.
Truman (Lovina) Miller, of Kalona, Iowa; Chriss of Arenal, Costa Rica,
C.A.; Eldon and Paul of Kalona; Mrs. Moses (Sadie) Mast of Oklahoma
City, Okla.; and Katie at home. Also surviving are 34 grand-children, 2
great-grandchildren, 2 bro-thers, George Bender of Wellman, Iowa,
Chriss Bender of Kalona; 2 sisters, Lydia Bender (who had made heir
home with them for over 35 years), and Mrs. Mose W. (Barbara) Yoder of
Nappanee, Ind. She was preceded by her parents, 1 brother and an infant
sister. Services were held in her former home and in the home of her
oldest daughter, Barbara. Burial in Peter Miller Cemetery northeast of
Kalona.
