KAUFMAN, Jephthah
"Jeff" G.;
KAUFMAN.- Jephthah "Jeff" G., son of Gideon and Elizabeth
(Helmuth) Kaufman, was born near Arthur, Ill., Aug. 16, 1894, and died
Nov. 26, 1975, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 10 days. He was a
member of the O. O. Amish Church. On Feb. 6, 1917, he was married
to Rebecca Miller, who survives, they lived in matri-mony 58 yrs., 9
mo. and 20 days. He was ordained to the ministry Apr. 21, 1929. Also
surviving are 1 daughter and 6 sons: Mrs. Dan (Katie) Miller of
Tuscola, Ill.; Andrew of Humboldt, Ill.; Daniel of Arthur; Noah of
Bicknel, Ind.; Reuben of Millersburg, Ohio; Amzy of Lovington, Ill.;
and Valentine of Arcola, Ill.; 2 sisters: Mrs. Susanna Otto and Mrs.
Magdalena ……….* both of Arthur; and 1 brother Dan also of Arthur: 52
grandchildren and 42 great--grandchildren; and many other relatives and
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 1
daughter-in-law. Services were held Nov. 29, 1975, in his son Amzy's
home, by David E. and Andy A. Schrock and Edward E. Nisley: in the
small house by Bishop Chriss E. Otto and Min. Levi G. Miller. Burial in
Otto Cemetery near Arthur, Illinois.
