Benner, Banks Elmer;
Benner, Banks Elmer, 91, of Fairfield, PA died November 12, 1983
at Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village. He was born in Thompsontown,
PA. to David R and Sarah (Graybill) Benner. His wife, Elizabeth
(Musselman) Benner, his wife of 70 years survivies. He was a charter
member of the Fairfield Mennonite Church, Fairfield, PA.
He started the El Vista orchards in 1915. A charter member of the
Fairfield Lions Club, and a member of the Fairfield Fire Company, the
Pennsylvania and the Adams County Fruitgrowers Association.
Survived by hs wife Elizabeth and two daughters: Arline E Bream of
Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village, and Mabert S Williams both of
Gettysburg, PA; two sons: Lloyd E Benner of Fairfield, PA; and John D
Benner of Hanover, PA; two brothers; Joseph T Benner of Lancaster, PA
and David R Benner of Roaks, PA; one sister, Mrs. Ida Weber of Lititz,
PA; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, on great-great
grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Private service with interment in the Fairfield Union Cemetery. A
memorial service was November 20, 1983 at the Fairfield Mennonite
Church with the Rev. Russell Hale and the Rev. Jacob Myers jointly
officiating.
