Benner,
Elizabeth M.
Musselman;
Benner, Elizabeth M. Musselman, 98, of Fairfield, PA died
November 30, 1986 at Michael Manor, Gettysburg. She was born December
30, 1887 in Leacock, Lancaster Co., PA to John and Elizabeth
Sensenig Musselman. Her husband was Banks E Benner, he died in 1983.
She was a charter member of the Fairfield Mennonite Church. She
assisted her husband in the operation of the E. L. Vista Orchards. She
was a member of the first graduating class of the New Holland High
School in 1908. Her brother was the late C. H. Musselman and she and
her husband ran one of the first apple packaging operations in Adams
Co., PA. She was a charter member of the Green Acres Auxiliary. She
started the 4-H Club in Fairfield and was the director of the Adams
County Red Cross for a number of years. She helped organize the
Fairfield Community Band and was also a member of the Fairfield
homemakers Association.
Surviving are three children, Arline Benner Bream, Mabert Benner
Williams, both of Gettysburg, PA and John D Benner, Hanover, PA; 12
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a
number of nieces and nephews. She was predeased by her husband Banks, a
son Lloyd E. Benner.
Funeral service was December 3, 2010 at the Fairfield Mennonite Church
with her pastor, the Rev. Joyce M Shutt, officiating. Interment will be
in Fairfield Union Cemetery.
