Funeral services for Nettie Pearl
Garber, Jackson [Minn.], were Monday, Sept. 5, at the Hilltop
Community Church in Jackson with the Revs. Ed Wenger and Melvin Graber
officiating. Nettie Garber died Sept. 2, 1994, at the Jackson
Muncipal Nursing Home in Jackson.
Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Jackson. Casket bearers
were Chad Garber, Mike Garber, Paul Garber, Leon Greaser, Alan Greaser
and Grant Nebel. Music was provided by Eddie [Edie] Nebel,
organist, and by her [Nettie's] granddaughters. Ushers were Joe
Kauffman and Douglas Hartzler. Sathe & Son Funeral Home was
in charge of arrangements.
Nettie was born Aug. 31, 1898, in East Lynne, Mo., to Noah and Mary
(Yoder) Hartzler. She attended school in Cass County, Mo.
She worked for a time as a practical nurse.
Nettie was married to Lloyd Garber on April 22, 1924, in Garden City,
Mo. After their marriage, they moved to Jackson, lived for a
short time in Manson, Iowa, then moved back to Jackson. Her
husband, Lloyd, died on Nov. 13, 1986.
She was a member of the Hilltop Community Church in Jackson, the
Women's Missionary and Service Auxiliary and the Wisconsin
Township
Project Group.
Survivors include one son, Peter and wife Maxine Garber, Jackson; two
daughters, Rosalie and husband Daniel Stoltzfus, South Bend, Ind., and
Verna Faye and husband Earl Greaser, Harrisonburg, Va.; and 16
grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving are one brother, Ernest and wife Margaret Hartzler,
Somers, Iowa; and one sister, Matie [Mattie] Bute, LaJunta, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson,
one great-granddaughter, six brothers, and one sister.
