Funk, Walter
Walter Funk, 70, 64965 CR 41, Millersburg, died at 12:28 a.m. Saturday Nov. 30, 1996, in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ben (Marie Whirledge, Millersburg, following an illness with cancer.
Born in China Sept. 20, 1926, he married Amanda Nisly June 15,1952 who survives.
Mr. Funk was a minister in the Mennonite church, a school teacher, farmer and builder. He pastored locally with Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Goshen; taught at Bethany Christian High School and Clinton Christian School where he also served as principal.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by another daughter, Betty Ann, at home; two sons, Harry, New Carlisle, and Ruben, Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Melvin, Elkhart. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 11 a m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Clinton Brick Mennonite Church, where he vas a member. Rev. Ron Kennel officiated at the service. Burial in the church cemetery.
