Virginia Irene Aschliman, 67, rural Wauseon, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at her home.

Born Jan. 28, 1930, in Pettisville, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Lucretia (Sauder) Rupp. In 1950, She married Ralph Aschliman, who survives. She worked with her husband for more than 20 years at the Maple Hill Farm, in egg production. She then worked for Gendron, Inc., before joining S-W mills as an office manager. She was a charter member of the Tedrow Mennonite Church, where she served as treasurer.

Also surviving are her mother, Lucretia, Archbold; three [error: four] sons, Robert (Luanne) Aschliman, Archbold; and Daryl (Lisa) Aschliman, and James (Cindy) Aschliman, both of Wauseon [and Larry]; two daughters, Mrs. Stan (Cara Lou) Grieser, Archbold; and Jane Schwind, Waterville; two brothers, Marlin Rupp, Pettisville; and Glenden Rupp, Wauseon; three sisters, Mrs. Dale (Geneva) Wyse, Archbold; Mrs. Glenn (Mabel) Kauffman, Wauseon; and Mrs. Douglas (Janette) Yoder, Goshen, Ind.; and 18 grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Tedrow Mennonite Church with Randall Nafziger as the officiating pastor. Burial was in Pettisville Cemetery.

Frances M. Beck, 92, Archbold, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at Heartland of Wauseon, where she had resided since April 5, 1997.

Born Jan. 25, 1905, near Wauseon, she was the daughter of Aaron and Jemima (Aeschliman) Klopfenstein, and married Harley Beck on March 31, 1931. She lived in the Archbold area the past 66 years and was a member of the Central Mennonite Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harley; three sons, Charles (Arva) Beck, Donald D. (Romaine) Beck, and Vern (Mary Lou) Beck, all of Archbold; one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Arlene) Zaerr, Archbold; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Klopfenstein, Wauseon; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Stuckey, Archbold; and Doris Klopfenstein, Wauseon.

Services are tomorrow, Thursday, at 10 a.m. at the Central Mennonite Church with Wayne Pipkin, Charles Gautsche and Diane Zaerr as the officiating pastors. Burial is in the Pettisville Cemetery.

Benner, Mildred Emmeline Sellers, 92, of Mifflintown, PA formerly of Middleburg, died on Monday, May 5, 1997 at Lewistown Hospital, where she had been admitted April 25, 1997. Born in Northumberland County, at Weigh Scales, PA, May 6, 1904, to Frank W. and Marcella Taylor Sellers. February 11, 1922 she married Abraham Benner, who preceded her in death April 7, 1992. She was a member of Crossroads Mennonite Church, Richfield, PA.

Surviving are three daughters, Frances B. Brubaker, Port Trevorton, Dorothy B. Hoffman, Middleburg, and Virginia L. Blakely, Middleburg; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was the last of her immediate family.

The funeral service was conducted Thursday from the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, with Rev. Orval C. Graybill officiating, assisted by Rev. Gary Krabill. Interment was made in the Richfield Union Cemetery, Richfield.

Bowman, Millard Lahman

Millard Lahman Bowman, 82, Route 2, Linville, died Thursday, August 28, 1997, at his home. He had been in failing health for several years.

Mr. Bowman was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Luther and Ottie May Lahman Bowman.

Before moving to the Linville area two years ago, he resided at Route 4, Harrisonburg. He was a dairy and turkey farmer. He was a member of Weavers Mennonite Church.

On Feb. 14, 1940, he married the former Oma Frances Wenger, who survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Shirley Martin, Bruce, Wisc, Emily Nisly, Marlboro, Ohio, Esther Showalter and Miriam Haarer, both of Linville, and Elva Miller, Harrisonburg; four sons, Daniel Bowman, Harrisonburg, Eldon Bowman, Fulks Run, Jim Bowman, Grottoes, and Bernard Bowman, Mount Vernon, Iowa; two sisters, Lelia Heatwole, Harrisonburg, and Vada Swartz, Dayton; five brothers, Joseph Bowman, Hinton, and Durward Bowman, Paul Bowman, Wade Bowman and Linden Bowman, all of Harrisonburg; 26 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The Revs. Joseph Shenk, Roman Miller and Harold Lahman will conduct the funeral 3 p.m. Saturday at Weavers Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Weavers Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 this evening at the McMullen Funeral Home, Route 10, Harrisonburg.
