Lederman, Edythe Amstutz

Edythe Amstutz Lederman, 91, Leo, Ind., died Friday morning, Oct. 16, 1998, at The Cedars Retirement Home, Leo.

            Born Feb. 18, 1908, in Fulton County, she was a daughter of Gideon and Eliza (Beck) Amstutz.  She married Alpheus Lederman, and he preceded her in death in 1978.  A homemaker, she was a charter member of North Leo Mennonite Church.

            Survivors include one son, Richard Lederman, Leo; two daughters, Mrs. Myrl (Donabell) Nofziger, Archbold; and Maredith Vendrely, Leo; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Walter (Virgie) Stuckey, West Unity.

            Services were Monday, 10 a.m., at the North Leo Mennonite Church.  Burial followed in the Leo Memorial Cemetery. 

            Born Feb. 13, 1904, near Grabill, Ind., she was the daughter of Peter and Anna (Richer) Liechty.  She married Amos Lederman on feb. 28, 1924, and he preceded her in death on dec. 10, 1954.  She lived in Allen County, Ind. for many years before moving to Archbold in 1983.  She did voluntary service at Froh Bros. at Sturgis, Mich., and was a cook at various places.  She was a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church, Pettisville, and had been a charter member of the Leo, Ind., Mennonite Church.                     

                Surviving are one son, Cornell Lederman, Spencerville, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Kathryn) Kauffman, and Mrs. Wayne (Loveda) Liechty, both of Archbold; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

            Services were Sunday, 2:30 p.m. (Indiana time) at the North Leo Mennonite Church, Leo, Ind. with officiating pastors.  Burial followed in the Leo Cemetery.                    

Surviving are a brother, Calvin Lehman of Dalton; two half-brothers, Ellis and Lloyd Lehman, both of Dalton and a half-sister, Anna Marie Lehman of Dalton.

Service was Oct. 10, 1998 at Kidron Mennonite Church with the Revs. Terry Shue and Herman Myers officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
