Martin, Abel E., 80, a resident of Mennonite Fellowship Home, 12349 Huyett Lane, Hagerstown, died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at his home. Born March 20, 1917, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the son of late Phares H. and Fannie E. Eby Martin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva S. Martin Martin, in 1997. They were married Dec. 21, 1940. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Hagerstown Mennonite Fellowship Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Dorcas E. Horst of Hagerstown; three sons, Dr. Enos D. Martin of Elizabethtown, Pa., Truman E. Martin and Joseph E. Martin, both of Hagerstown; three sisters, Amanda Martin, Mary Martin and Florence Martin, all of Maugansville; two brothers, Phares E. Martin and Reuben A. Martin, both of Hagerstown; 30 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hagerstown Mennonite Fellowship Church, 12403 Huyett Lane, Hagerstown. Ministers Maurice Martin, Landis Martin and Jacob Byers will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa.; and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests the omission of flowers.

Mellott, James E., Jr., 21, McConnellsburg, PA, died March 2, 1998 on Timber Ridge Road, Fulton County, PA. Born December 17, 1976, in McConnellsburg, PA to Alice M. Keefer Mellott and James E. Mellott, Sr.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Tammy Smith, Needmore, PA; and his maternal grandmother, Clara M Keefer, McConnellsburg, PA.

Services were March 5, 1998 at Mountain View Mennonite Church, McConnellsburg. The Rev Keith Clugston and Elijah Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Damascus Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, PA.

Miller, Clayton W., 74, of Millersburg, Ohio, died Oct. 7, 1998, at his home.

Surviving are his wife, Mabel Weaver Miller; five children and their spouses, Ellis and Berdene Miller and Kenneth and Ada Miller of Sarasota, Florida, Brian and Kathleen Miller of Canton, Julia and Luther Proper of Millersburg and Beth and Brian Beechy of Winesburg; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and Kenny Dotson of Sarasota, Florida, Brian and Feline Miller of Columbus, Matthew Miller and Karissa Miller of Canton, Chadwick, Joshua and Kendrick Miller of Sarasota, Florida, Joshua Proper and Janna Proper of Millersburg, and Leah, Krista, Emily and Megan Beechy of Winesburg; one great-grandchild, Mikayla Miller of Columbus; two brothers, Ray Miller of Goshen, Indiana and Jay Miller of Orrville; three sisters, Pauline Basler and Ruth Miller of Orrville and Orvilla Yoder of Berlin.

Service was Oct. 10, 1998 at the Martins Creek Mennonite Church with pastor Martin Mann and pastor Homer Kandel officiating. Burial will be at the Gray Ridge Church Cemetery.

Miller, Lois I. 50, of New Philadelphia, OH died Nov. 2, 1998 at Union Hospital in Dover, OH.

Surviving are her parents of Dundee; brothers, John (Candy) Miller of Bolivar and Jim (Renee) Miller of Sugarcreek; a sister, Mrs. James (Lynn) Jordan of Northville, Mich.; and seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Nov 5, 1998 at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Donald Pentz officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Winesburg.

Miller, Mary Ann, 67, of Sugarcreek, Ohio, died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998 at Union Hospital.

Surviving are sisters, Alma (Pete) Gingerich of Dundee, Lydia Ann (Raymond) Miller of Barrs Mills, Malinda Miller of Sugarcreek and Fannie (Emmett) Eyers of Dover.

Funeral service was Oct 4, 1998 at Pleasant View Mennonite Church with the Revs. Freeman Hostetler and Joe Hochstetler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Miller, Vesta A.

Born Dec. 24, 1911, in Archbold, she was the daughter of William and Ruth (Frey) Nafziger. In 1941, she married S. Paul Miller, who survives. A teacher for six years in Pettisville, she did missionary work in India for 50 years. She was a member of College Mennonite Church.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Elaine) Haines, Souderton, Pa.; and Mrs. Larry (Eleanor) Miller, Strabourg, France; a son James, Shipshewana, ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Helen) Huffman [Er.--Kaufman], Tiskilwa, Ill., and Mrs. Kenneth (Lois) Nofziger, Pettisville; four brothers, Ervin, Glen and Lester Nafziger, all of Archbold; and Ivan Nafziger, Pettisville; and eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in College Mennonite Church, Goshen. There was a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday in West Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon. Burial was in Pettisville Cemetery with private services at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Surviving are his wife, Judy; a daughter, Molly of Canton; a sister, Mrs. Joe (Sally) Roher of Friendswood, Texas and a brother, Thomas Mohr of New Philadelphia.

Memorial service was Oct 14, 1998 at the Berlin Mennonite Church with the Rev. Ernest Hershberger officiating. A private graveside service will be held at the Westlawn Cemetery in Winesburg.

Verda A. Mull, 81, rural Wauseon, died Thursday evening, Sept. 24, 1998, at The Arbors, in Sylvania. She had been in failing health the last year.

Born in Fulton County on Jan. 12, 1917, she was the daughter of Jonathan and Amelia (Sauder) Nafziger. She married Chauncy Mull in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1984. She was an active member of Tedrow Mennonite Church.

She farmed along with her husband Chauncy most of her life. She also worked at Figy's Dressing Plant in Wauseon and volunteered at the Sauder Village, where she made noodles and quilted.

Surviving is one son, Daniel Mull, Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Wilhelm (Vera Williams ) Schmidt, Archbold; Mrs. Lawrence (Marjorie) Hilty, Pandora; and Sylvia Merillat Beck, Archbold.

Funeral services were Sunday, 3 p.m., at the Tedrow Mennonite Church with Rabdy Nafziger as the officiating pastor. Burial followed at Pettisville Cemetery.
