Mahlon J. Cender, 70, 1532 Greencroft Drive, former resident of Gibson City, Ill., died at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday in Greencroft Terraces.
He was born Jan. 9, 1929, in Dewey, Ill., to Emery P. and Mattie (Stalter) Cender.
On. June 27, 1953, in Goshen, he married Esther L. Berkey.
From 1955 to 1956 he served in Puerto Rico with the Ulrich Foundation. He was a farmer and for 20 years he worked for his father at Cender Gas Co.
He was a member of East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher, Ill., Waterford Mennonite Church, AARP, and was a member and leader of 4-H clubs in Champaign County, Ill: He was named champion plowman in 1949.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Judy (Mrs. Eli) Saylor, Ephrata, Pa., Beth Cender, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Jeanine (Mrs. Rod) Kaufman, Goshen; a son, Jonathan, Koloa, Hawaii; six grandchildren; five sisters, Fern Martin, Downer's Grove, Ill., Wilda Otto, Brussels, Belgium, Vietta Nofziger, Milford, Marlene Kaufman, Akron, Pa., and Miry Oswald, Lake Jackson, Texas; and two brothers, Milton, Gibson City, and Lowell, Goshen.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Waterford Mennonite Church. The Rev. Joseph Miller, the Rev. Martha Kolb-Wyckoff, and the Rev. Marvin Yoder will conduct the service. Burial will be in Hess Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Waterford Mennonite Church or to Greencroft Foundation for the Good Samaritan Fund.

Survived by a son, Brian L., Boyertown, and a daughter, Sherry L. (Clemmer) Jessum, Perkiomenville, Montgomery County. Her five brothers: Paul Kuser and Glen Gilbert, both of Boyertown; Warren Kuser, Tucson, Ariz.; Wayne Kuser, Earlville; and Neil Gilbert, Barto. And five sisters: Helen (Kuser) Reppert, Mary (Kuser) Lang and Lois (Gilbert) Schwager, all of Boyertown; Eva (Kuser) Schott, Limerick, Montgomery County; and Betty Kuser, a resident of ManorCare Health Services Inc., Muhlenberg Township. There are also three grandchildren.
Services were Jan 23, 1999 at Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home Inc., Boyertown. Burial will be Hereford Mennonite Cemetery Bally, PA.

Clemmer, Ruth Elizabeth Detwiler, 65 of Franconia Township, PA died Dec 24, 1999 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. Born in Lower Salford Township, to Irvin F. Detwiler of Red Hill and Elizabeth (MOYER) Detwiler of Souderton. She was the wife of 48 years to Norman C. Clemmer. She was a longtime member of Souderton Mennonite Church, where she was member of the Deacon's Council, Choir, finance committee, music committee, and youth ministries. She also sang in special church music ensembles. She had served as the local treasurer for the MaMa Project, a relief organization to Honduras. She and her husband had been part of church-connected work service teams in Haiti, Russia, Mexico and Honduras.
Survived by her husband Norman and 2 daughters, Patricia A. Clemmer of Sellersville and Julia B. Wimmer and her husband, Dean of Telford; 3 sons, Norman L of Green Lane, Robert D of Perkasie, Timothy N of Flagstaff, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Lorene Nyce of Harleysville, Miriam Brookwell of Topton, Rhoda Reilly of Fullerton CA, Joyce Sneddon of Cape May NJ and 2 brothers, Irvin Detwiler of Lansdale and Homer Detwiler of Silver Springs, FL.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter; and 2 brothers, Wesley and Paul.
Funeral service was Dec 26, 1999 at Souderton Mennonite Church, Souderton, PA, Interment was Dec 27, 1999 in the adjoining church cemetery.

Delp, Hannah N. Nyce, 86, of
Harleysville, Montgomery Co., PA formerly of Skippack, Montgomery Co.,
died October 7, 1999 at North Penn Hospital, Lansdale, Montgomery Co.,
PA. She was born in Harleysville, PA to John W. and Lizzie (Derstine)
Nyce. Her husband was Norman M. Delp, died in 1984.
She was a member of the Methacton Mennonite Church, Fairview Village,
Montgomery Co., PA.
Survived by two daughters, Doris D. (Delp) Dougherty, Wayne, Delaware
Co., PA and Dianne D. (Delp) Heverly, Phoenixville, PA; two sons: Dale
N., Harleysville, PA and David N., Boyertown, PA. Also survived
by four sisters: Elmira (Nyce) Henning, Kulpsville, Montgomery Co., PA;
Mary (Nyce) Hunsberger, Souderton, Montgomery Co., PA; Lizzie Derstine,
Franconia, Montgomery Co., PA; and Arlene (Nyce) Clemmer, Harleysville,
PA. Also 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was October 10, 1999 at Methacton Mennonite Church.
Burial was in the Methacton Mennonite cemetery Fair View, PA.
James E. Eicher, 74, Pettisville, died Monday, May 3,
1999, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, where je was a
patient two
weeks.
Born April 19, 1925, near Archbold, he was a son of
Arthur and Bertha (Burkholder) Eicher, and married Grace Stamm on Nov.
16,
1947. A lifelong resident of the
Archbold – Pettisville area, he farmed and was a partner in Eicher's
