Richer, Alice M. Wyse

Alice M. Richer, 90, Wauseon, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000 at Fulton Manor in Wauseon, where she had resided since Oct. 22, 1999.
    Born Feb. 18, 1910, near Archbold, she was a daughter of Daniel S. and Emma (Gautsche) Wyse. She married Walter Richer on Dec. 22, 1931, and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1997. She lived most of her lifetime in the Wauseon area, was a homemaker, and a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville.
    Surviving are two sons, Virgil (Sharon) Richer, Archbold; and Leonard (Donelda) Richer, Wauseon; three daughters, Mrs. Orville (LaJane) Yoder, Goshen, Ind.; Mrs. Dorwin (Ilene) Nofziger, Wauseon; and Mrs. Roger (Shirley) Martin, Mount Joy, Pa.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
    Memorial services are tomorrow, Thursday, 4 p.m. at the West Clinton Mennonite Church. James Roynon and Edward Diener are the officiating pastors. Burial precedes the service in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at Short Funeral Home in Archbold from 2-9 p.m., Wednesday.

Richer, Willard G.

Willard G. Richer, 89, Archbold, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in his Wyse Commons apartment,
Archbold.
    Born April 2, 1911, near Grabill, Ind.; he was a son of Henry and Mary (Aeschliman) Richer. He married Clara Short on Aug. 13, 1935, and she preceded him in death on April 21, 1994. He lived in the Wauseon area before moving to Archbold in 1997.
    He taught in Fulton County country schools from 1930 to 1942, and was a retired farmer. Since retirement he mowed the Ironwood golf-course, Wauseon, for 10 years, and worked with the Jewish Ministry in Toledo.
    He was a charter member of the North Clinton Mennonite Church, near Wauseon, where he served on the original building committee, and also a member of the Gideons International.
    Surviving are two sons, Roland (Betty) Richer and Larry (Melda) Richer, both of Wauseon; two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Velda) Rufenacht, Archbold, and Mrs. David (Aldine) Holsopple, Wauseon; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Florence) Aschliman, Archbold.
    Memorial services are Friday, 11 a.m. at the North Clinton Mennonite Church. Gary Blosser, Brad Faler, and Michael Zehr are the officiating pastors. Burial in the Pettisville Cemetery will precede the service. Friends may call at North Clinton Mennonite Church from 1-9 p.m. today, Wednesday and 6-9 p.m. Thursday.
