He also was a farmer and a sales clerk for Kauffman's Fruit Farm in Bird-In-Hand, Pa.

Services: Weavertown Amish-Mennonite Church , 2908 Church Road, Bird-In- Hand, Pa., Monday 10:00 a.m. with officiating clergy, Aaron Lapp Jr. And John U. Lapp.  Intement in adjoining cemetery.

Bernath, Richard C.

Richard C. Bernath, 81, Stryker, died Sunday, June 24, 2001 in his home.
 
Born in Stryker on June 9, 1920, he was a son of Charles and Gertrude (Cramer) Bernath. He married Vivian Replogle on May 29,1942, and she preceded him in death on June 14, 2001. He was a retired mail carrier and an air force veteran of WWII.  His memberships included the First Baptist Church, Stryker, Stryker American Legion, Williams County Historical Society and the Stryker Sportsman Club.
 
Surviving are three sons: Roger Bernath, Layton, Utah; Charles (Rosemary) Battle Creek, Mich.; William (Pam) Bernath, Stryker; three daughters, Mrs. Sharilyn Black, Ada, Okla.; Mrs. Timothy (Pamela) Oberlin, Stryker; and Mrs. Jan (Laura) Schlosser, Bryan; 14 grandchildren; nine greattgrandchildren; one brother, James Bernath, Stryker; two sisters, Ruth Miller, Sarasota, Fla.; and Mary. Jane Juillard, Stryker.
Funeral services are Friday, 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Stryker. Daniel Douglass and Ernest Belella are the officiatting pastors. Burial will follow in the Evansport Cemetery with miliitary rites. Calling hours are Thursday, 2-9 p.m.

Service: From the Elton Sauder home at 590 Bowers Road, Kutztown, Pa. at 9 a.m. with further services at 9:30 a.m. at Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown, Pa.  Interment in adjoining cemetery.

Daughter of: Jacob S. and Anna Mae Garber Brubaker

Survivors:  Brothers, Ezra G. (Esther) Brubaker of Manheim, Pa., Paul G. (Martha) Brubaker of Lititz, Pa., Elwood G. of East Petersburg, Pa.
Sisters, Anna Mae (Harold) Sauder of Beavertown, Pa. and Ruth G. Brubaker of East Petersburg. 

Preceded in death by: Sister, Elizabeth G. Esbenshade, and Brother, Henry G. Brubaker.

Ethel was a member of Landis Valley Mennonite Church.  She worked at the Mennonite Home in Lancaster, Pa. and also did bagging at the American Feed Co., Lancaster. 

Services: Landis Valley Mennonite Church, 2420 Kissel Hill Road, Lancaster, Pa. on Monday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m. With Rev. Thomas Horst officiating.  Interment in adjoining cemetery.

Buzzard, Joseph R.

July 30,1907-Dec. 25, 2001

GOSHEN - Joseph Raymond Buzzard, 94, of 1300 Greencroft Drive, died in his home at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 25, 2001). He was born July 30, 1907, in Washington, Ill., to A.L. and Cora (Shoemaker) Buzzard and married Nellie Nusbaum in Newton, Kan., on Oct. 25, 1932. She died Sept. 29, 1999.

Mr. Buzzard is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Royce (Eileen) Roth of Crawfordsville, Iowa; a son, Gerald (Nina) of Greensburg, Pa.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Lois Yoder of Elkhart and Ruth Hemingway of Goshen.

Two sisters, Florence Yoder and Miriam Nofzinger; and two brothers, J. Milton and Harold, are deceased.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Gathering Place in the Evergreen Place, Greencroft, with Pastors Rosemary Widmer and Firman Gingerich of College Mennonite Church officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Street Cemetery.

Mr. Buzzard lived in Elkhart from 1927 to 1954 and worked as a chief accountant and office manager at Elkhart Packing Co. from 1930 to 1954. He then served as treasurer of Mennonite Publishing House in Scottdale, Pa., until his retirement in 1973.

He was a member of College Mennonite Church, past president of the Elkhart Exchange Club, Scottdale Rotary Club and the Little Eden Camping Association and served on the board of the Elkhart County Symphony from 1951 to 1954. He also served on the boards of Frick Community Hospital in Mount Pleasant, Pa., and the Scottdale YMCA.

Mr. Buzzard served on the executive committee of the Mennonite Board of Missions and as treasurer of the Laurelville Mennonite Church Center and the Allegheny Mennonite Conference.
