Layman,
Hazel Feltis, 90, of Harrisonburg, VA died May 20, 2007. She was
born to Oscar and Eulaihia (Riddle) Feltis. She was married to Roy
Layman, who died October 22, 1997.
Surviving are children, Margaret Shank, Lois Hertzler, Carol Parks, Joy
Sherman, Byard E. Layman, Roy F. Layman, Jr., 13 grandchildren, eight
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services were held May 22, 2007 at Weavers Mennonite Church,
Harrisonburg, VA.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Lehman,
Frances E. Schnell, 94, of Goshen, IN died December 28, 2007 at
Goshen, IN. She was born August 6, 1913 at Berlin, Ohio to Hervey and
Emma (Yoder) Schnell. On June 28, 1941 at Orrville, OH she was
married to Marion Lehman, who was born October 12, 1914 and survives.
Surviving are children, Kermit (Elsie) Lehman, Rex Lehman, 6
grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary (Denton) Croyle,
and a brother, Kempes (Ann) Schnell.
A son, Eric Lehman and a sister, Myrtle Hertzler preceded her in death.
Frances graduated from Kent State University and taught fifth grade in
Orrville,
Ohio. Her home served as a community home for Oaklawn Mental
Health Center, Goshen, Indiana for 27 years.
Memorial services were held January 7, 2008 at College Mennonite
Church, Goshen, Indiana with burial in Violett Cemetery, Goshen,
Indiana.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Lehman,
Kenneth H., 87, of West Liberty, OH died at Bellefontaine, OH.
He was born May 26, 1920 at Aurora, OH to Joel and Martha (Basinger)
Lehman. On October 28, 1944 at West Liberty, Logan Co., Ohio he
was married to Betty Plank, who survives.
Surviving are children, Tom (Carol) Lehman, Ken Lehman, Sam (Mariann)
Lehman, Ed (Kim) Lehman, Tim (Pam) Lehman, Ric (Teresa) Lehman, Carol
(Dave) Troyer, 25 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Pauline Miller. He was preceded in
death by a daughter, Debra Lehman and nine siblings.
He was a lifelong dairy farmer with award winning herds.
Memorial services were held August 9, 2007 at Bethel Mennonite Church,
West Liberty, Logan Co., OH with burial in the Fairview Cemetery, West
Liberty, Logan Co., Ohio.
He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Lehman,
Lydia Y. Umble, 101, of Ephrata, PA died September 2, 2007 at
Ephrata, Lancaster Co., PA. She was born August 10, 1906 at Gap, PA to
Joseph and Fannie (Yost) Umble. She was married to Gilbert N
Lehman, who died in January 2005.
Surviving are children, Dorothy Lehman, Marian Lehman, Mary Jane
Martin, Joseph Lehman & Doris Frey 13 grandchildren, 27
great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held September 6, 2007 at Ephrata Mennonite
Church, Ephrata, Lancaster Co., PA with burial in Millersville
Mennonite Cemetery.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Lehman,
Richard N. (Norman), 81, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania entered into
Heaven's celebration on Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Conestoga View.
Cause of death: pneumonia. Born June 25, 1926 in Lancaster, he was a
son of the late Levi E. and Catherine (Brubaker) Lehman. He is survived
by his wife, M. Ruth (Lehman) Lehman, with whom he celebrated sixty
years of marriage on June 28, 2007. She was born July 19, 1926, and
they were married June 28, 1947.
Richard was an active member of Acts Covenant Fellowship. He was
employed at the John E. Landis Company for over fifty years as the
manager of the LP (liquid propane) gas department. During World War II,
Richard served in Civilian Public Service (CPS) as a mental hospital
worker, a smoke jumper, and a mariner on a cattle boat to Poland. His
strong faith in God had a profound effect on those around him.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, Richard is survived by 8 children:
Rachel, wife of Paul Keeler, Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania (Pa.);
Rebecca, wife of Sam Zook, of Bird-in-Hand, Pa.; Ron, husband of Mary
Alice Lehman, Leola, Pa.; Rhoda, wife of Dennis Stoesz, Goshen,
Indiana; Ruby Anderson, Dayton, Ohio; Robin, wife of Randy Snyder,
Lancaster, Pa.; Rick, husband of Teresa Lehman, McClure, Pa.; and Raym,
husband of Melissa Lehman, of Lancaster, Pa. He is also survived by 13
grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial and celebration service for Richard was held on October 15
at Acts Covenant Fellowship, 1927 Wheatland Ave., Lancaster, with
Reverend
Keith Yoder and Reverend Don Riker officiating. A private viewing and
burial service was held on October 16, as arranged by The Gundel
Funeral Home, with burial at Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster.

Lichti,
Elda R. Ewert, 95, of Newton, KS died September 23, 2007 at
Newton, KS. She was born September 26 1911 at Lehigh, KS to Henry A.
and Susie (Krause) Ewert. On August 5, 1949 at Newton, KS she was
married to Rudolph A. Lichti, who died January 22, 2007.
Surviving are children, Marlin & Monica Lichti, two grandchildren,
and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services were held September 26, 2007 at Grace Hill Mennonite
Church, Whitewater, KS with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Lind, Wilbert G.

Wilbert G. Lind, 87,
formerly of Ephrata, [Pa.], entered into rest at Landis Homes, on
Tuesday, March 6, 2007. He resided at Landis Homes Retirement
Community since 1990.
He was born in Albany, Oregon, [on Jan. 5, 1920], son of the late
Norman A. and Sarah Flohr Lind. He was the husband for 56 years
of Rhoda Hess Lind, having celebrated their anniversary this past
September 3rd.
Prior to marriage, he served 3 1/2 years in civilian public service and
3 1/2 years in China. After his marriage to Rhoda, he served 14
years in Somalia, East Africa and was a missionary in Haiti with
Eastern Mennonite Mennonite Missions. He was pastor of the
Ephrata Mennonite Church from 1967 to 1984, served as overseer of New
England church plantings under Eastern Mennonite Missions, and later an
interim pastor for several churches in Lancaster County.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Daniel Lind of
Lancaster married to Marie, Miriam, married to Alan Messersmith of
Ephrata, Joyce Lind, married to Michael S. Taylor of Portland, OR, and
his grandchiildren, Susan [Lind] , Bethany, Ashley, Andrew and Matthew
[the last four, Messersmith]. He is also survived by a brother,
Millard, of Goshen, IN.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lloyd, Marcus, Ivan, Norman
Jr., and Gilbert [twin].
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at the
Ephrata Mennonite Church, 510 Stevens Road, Ephrata, with Bishop Lloyd
Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in the Mellinger's
Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster. A viewing will be held on Tuesday
evening, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Landis Homes, Bethany East
Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz[,] and at the church on
Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m.
The family requests memorial contributions in Wilbert's memory be sent
to Landis Homes Caring Fund, c/o Landis Homes Retirement Community,
