Addis, Margaret "Pat" Patricia Vollmer, 86, of New Holland, PA died May 22, 2015 at Lancaster, PA. She was born at Germantown, PA to John Fedrick and Margaret (Payne) Vollmer.

Surviving are children, Charles Addis III, Bell Mead, NJ and F. Scott Addis, Bryn Mawr; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren

Memorial services were held at Garden Spot Village New Holland, PA.

Aeschliman, Galen H., 94, of Wauseon, Fulton Co., OH died April 23, 2015 at Archbold, Fulton Co., OH. He was born January 6, 1921 at Wauseon to Enos and Dora (Neuhouser) Aeschliman. On August 26, 1945 at Archbold he was married to Lois L. Nofziger, who died November 1999.

Surviving are children, Gloria (Doug) Gingeric, Shirley (Phil) Crossgrove, and Charlene (Ron) Roth, and Linda (Mike) Stuckey, John (Lisa Graf), Phil (Lisa Grieser), and Brian (Lori Stuckey) Aeschliman, 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Merle Aeschliman.

A grandson, Tyler Philip Aeschliman, and his siblings, Marjorie Nafziger, Kenneth Aeschliman, Hyrthal Aeschliman, and Derald (Bud) Aeschliman, preceded him in death.

Galen and Lois spent 40 years on the farm, raising crops and livestock. He was an active member of the local T-Bone Club and the 100 Bushel Club. In December of 1946 Galen completed auctioneer school and enjoyed volunteering his skills at various events. After moving off the farm, Galen became an avid woodworker, making marble rollers, games, puzzles, walking canes, and replicas of tractors and trucks. He donated a number of his handmade items to Black Swamp Benefit to support Sunshine and Mennonite Central Committee. Galen very much enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to play games with them.

Memorial services were held April 27, 2015 at Central Mennonite Church, Archbold with burial in Pettisville Cemetery, Pettisville, Fulton Co., OH.

Albrecht, Marion Niles, 96, of Tiskilwa, IL died July 19, 2015 at Peoria, Peoria Co., IL from cardiovascular and kidney disease.

He was born May 10, 1919 at Morton, Tazewell Co., IL to Levi O. and Lydia (Roth) Albrecht. Levi was born November 20, 1885 and died May 7, 1958. Lydia was born January 5, 1888 and died August 12, 1977.

On June 11, 1944 at Hopedale, Tazewell Co., IL he was married to Oleeda June Sutter, who was born June 22, 1919 and died September 8, 2008.

Surviving are children, Arlee (Richard) Blackburn, Wayne (Annette) Albrecht, Connie (Elvin) Krabill, Sylvia Aschliman; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Milo Albrecht.

A brother, Howard Albrecht preceded him in death.

He was in Civilian Public Service, 1942-1946.

Memorial services were held July 25, 2015 at Willow Springs Mennonite Church, Tiskilwa, Bureau Co., IL with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Alderfer, Clarence, 77, of Souderton, Montgomery Co., PA died November 18, 2015 at the same place. He was born July 10, 1938 at Sellersville, Bucks Co., PA
to Mahlon and Ada (Moyer) Alderfer. On September 8, 1956 he was married to Mary C. Derstine, who was born September 3, 1938 and survives.

Surviving are a son, Don Alderfer and wife Becky; and a daughter, Linda Jaindl and husband Rob; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a brother Lowell Alderfer and wife Betsy.

A son, Rodney Alderfer, and a brother, Richard Alderfer preceded him in death.

Memorial services were held November 21, 2015 at Salford Mennonite Church, Harleysville, Montgomery Co., PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Alderfer, Philip Grant, 73, of Souderton, Montgomery Co., PA died September 4, 2015 at the same place from cancer. He was born January 7, 1942 at Souderton to Melvin L. and Helen M. (Allebach) Alderfer. On February 8, 1964 at Souderton he was married to Judith Rosenberger, who was born May 6, 1943 and survives.

Surviving are a daughter, Jill M. Kaercher, a son, Marc A. Alderfer and his wife Milagrosa; four grandchildren, a sister, JoAnn Moyer and husband S. Donald, and a brother, M. Stephen and wife, Gail.

A granddaughter, Hailey Alderfer preceded him in death.

Memorial services were held September 12, 2015 at Franconia Mennonite Church, Telford, Montgomery Co., PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Allebach, Darwin F., 78, of Perkasie, PA died December 31, 2015. He was born December 30, 1936 at Sellersville, PA to Norman F. and Stella K. (Fulmer) Allebach. On March 26, 1988 he was married to Loraine Allebach, who survives.

Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia D. Nyce & Gerald, Sherry L. Yothers, G. Darlene Nolen & Gregory, step-daughter, Tamara R. Giesbrecht & Peter, two step-sons, Kendall J. Ruth & Lisa, Sid J. Ruth & Kristi; eight grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and brothers, Kenneth F. Allebach, Lloyd F. Allebach, Claude F. Allebach & Marilyn.

Darwin was preceded in death by his 1st wife, A. Lorraine Allebach, who passed away in 1987.

Memorial services were held January 3, 2016 at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, Blooming Glen, PA with burial in Towamencin Mennonite Cemetery, Kulpsville, PA.

Allen, Louise Isabelle Snyder Lehman , 87, died at Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility. She was born April 26, 1927 at Lowville, NY to . On June 30, 1971 at First Mennonite Church, New Bremen, NY, she was married to Carl Allen, who died May 23, 2003.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Everett J. and Diane Lehman of Croghan; and three step children; two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also her siblings, Doris Makuch, Gertrude Williams, Valerie Laribee, Ernest Snyder, and Gerald Snyder

On January 1, 1948 she married Andrew Lehman. Mr. Lehman died November 11, 1961. On June 30, 1971, she married Carl Allen at First Mennonite Church, New Bremen. Together with her husband, Carl Allen, the couple lived in Illinois and California

A son, Leslie, a granddaughter, Andrea; a grandson, Andrew, brothers, Joseph Wilbert (Bill), Robert, Albert (Sam), Milton and Kenneth Snyder; and sisters Shirley Lyndaker, Lois Adner, and Eldora Jackson preceded her in death.

Mrs. Allen worked as a housekeeper, waitress, at the Beaverite in Beaver Falls, at Beaver River Central School and other various occupations.

Louise enjoyed coin collecting, listening to country music, and was an avid yodeler.

Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Lowville, NY for a spring burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Fund for Hope, 7785 N. State St., Lowville, NY 13367.

CROGHAN- Louise Isabelle Lehman Allen, 87, formerly of State Route 812, Croghan, died Thursday evening, March 26, 2015 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.

A graveside service will be in the spring at the First Mennonite Cemetery, New Bremen. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fund for Hope, 7785 N. State Street, Lowville, NY 13367. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.

Louise was born on April 26, 1927 in Lowville, NY, a daughter of the late Christopher and Anna Peebles Snyder. She attended Copenhagen Central School. On January 1, 1948, she married Andrew Lehman. Mr. Lehman died on November 11, 1961. On June 30, 1971, she married Carl Allen at First Mennonite Church, New Bremen. Together with her husband, Carl Allen, the couple lived in Illinois and California. Mr. Allen died on May 23, 2003. Mrs. Allen worked as a housekeeper, waitress, at the Beaverite in Beaver Falls, at Beaver River Central School and other various occupations. She is survived by a son and his wife, Everett J. and Diane Lehman of Croghan; three step-children; granddaughters, Heather Houppert (Mike) and Kristi Marquez (George), eight great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Makuch, Gertrude Williams, and Valerie Laribee,; two brothers Ernest (Pete) Snyder and Gerald Snyder; a step-daughter and her husband, Elveria and Wilburn Roggie, a step-daughter -in-law, Theresa Lehman, (wife of stepson Richard Lehman)several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A son Leslie, a granddaughter, Andrea; a grandson Andrew, six brothers, Joseph Wilbert (Bill), Robert, Albert (Sam), Milton and Kenneth Snyder; three sisters, Shirley Lyndaker, Lois Adner, and Eldora Jackson, all predeceased her.

Louise enjoyed coin collecting, listening to country music, and was an avid yodeler.

Allgyer, Dorothy Groff, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Landis Homes, Lititz, PA.

She was the second wife to Melvin Allgyer Sr., who preceded her in death in 2010. Dorothy, a daughter of the late Roy and Ellen Groff, was born on a dairy farm on July 4, 1941, in Paradise Township. After graduating from Lancaster Mennonite High School in 1960, Dorothy worked in Miami, FL, and in Lancaster County as a chair-side dental assistant until 1996. Dorothy married Melvin Allgyer on July 20, 1996.

A talented oil-painter, Dorothy enjoyed God's creation and relating to people through phone calls. Most recently a member of Millport Mennonite Church in Leola, Dorothy was always very active in the church and in other volunteer work.

Surviving are Melvin's six children: Anna Weaver of Lancaster; Michael married to Debra Wenger Allgyer of Reading; Esther married to Nelson Zeiset of Newmanstown; Melvin married to Nancy Lehman Allgyer of Harrisburg; James married to Charlotte Zeiset Allgyer of Denver; Nancy married to James Metzler of Peach Bottom; 25 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.

Surviving also are Dorothy's three brothers: Charles Groff married to Janet Denlinger of Kinzers; John Groff married to Gretta Sollenberger of Gordonville; and Richard Groff married to Beverly Irons of Strasburg as well as five nephews and three nieces.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Millport Mennonite Church, 820 Log Cabin Road, Leola, PA. Viewing will take place on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the West Bethany Chapel of Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543, and Tuesday from 9:30 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will be made in the Myerstown Mennonite Cemetery, Myerstown, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Landis Homes Caring Fund, at Landis Homes.

Amstutz, Doyle Edison, 78, of Apple Creek, Wayne Co., OH died November 23, 2015 at Shady Lawn Health Care Community, Dalton, Wayne Co., OH after declining health due to cancer.

He was born February 10, 1937 at Kidron, Wayne Co., OH to Albert J. and Della (Gerber) Amstutz. Albert was born July 1, 1901 and died November 28, 1988. Della was born June 28, 1901 and died May 11, 1982.

On June 7, 1958 at Kidron, OH he was married to Ella Marie Geiser, who was born November 14 1936 and survives.

Surviving are children, Terry Amstutz; Douglas & Patricia Amstutz; and Ron & Pam Amstutz Taylor; one step granddaughter, and two brothers, Galen & Anna Mae Amstutz, and Sherman & Lavonne Amstutz.

A daughter, Patricia, died in 1959; a sister, Agnes Amstutz Geiser, and two brothers, Myron Amstutz, and Dennis Amstutz preceded him in death.

Memorial services were held November 28, 2015 at Sonnenberg Mennonite Church, Kidron, OH with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Andre, Evelyn J. Nofzinger Short, 91, of Archbold, Fulton Co., OH died November 24, 2015 at the same place. She was born December 31, 1923 at Archbold, OH to John and Mary (Beck) Nofzinger. On December 31, 1941 at Archbold she was married to Dale S. Short, who is deceased. Her second marriage was to Gail S. Andre on June 14, 1968 in Archbold, OH.

Surviving are children, Verle (Marie) Short, Jane (Marlin) Gearig, and Lee (Linda) Short; step-children, Dorothy (Mike) Lowman, Rachel (Paul) Peters, Carl (Kathy) Andre, and Lois (Earl) Andre-Springer; 7 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

A grandson, Quinn preceded her in death.

A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was involved in the former Nofzinger Motor Sales, Eicher Coal Company and the Before and After Antique Shop along with several rentals. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, picnicking and skiing at Baw Beese, vacationing at Burt Lake in northern Michigan and time spent with family and their activities. She was a lifelong member of Central Mennonite Church.

Ardeel, Elsie M. Heyse, 87, of Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., IN died January 16, 2015 at the same place. She was born March 29, 1927 at Mishawaka, IN to Charles and Marguerite (Snauwaert) Heyse. On April 10, 1948 in Mishawaka she was married to Raymond E. Ardeel, who was born February 21, 1927 and died February 6, 1993.

Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Ardeel-Sullivan and a son, Michael (Terri) Ardeel, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A sister, Dorothy Heyden preceded her in death.

Armstrong, Jesse J., 96, of Archbold, Fulton Co., OH died November 2, 2015 at the same place from natural causes. He was born November 25, 1918 at Stryker, Willians Co., OH to Clifford and Barbara (Short) Armstrong. On January 1, 1950 at Archbold he was married to Beulah Beck, who died May 25, 1994.

Surviving are children, Donna (Randal) Shumaker, Grace Coon, and Marvin (Cindy) Armstrong; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Esther Fae Armstrong, a son-n-law, Roland Coon, and his siblings: Carl Armstrong, Lloyd Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, Pearl Sigg, Aretha Hausch, and Hilda Dohm preceded him in death.

Jesse was the first person from Fulton County to serve in Civilian Public Service at Dennison, IA

Auker, Dorothy May Krimes, 72, of Akron, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015, at Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Paul and Florence (Blantz) Krimes and was the wife of the late Jerry Auker who passed away in 2010. The couple had been married 44 years.

Dorothy was a waitress at the former Zinn's Diner for 30 years until its closing. She enjoyed bowling, baking, cooking, going to the beach and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Chris Hassell, wife of Jim Hassell of Akron; Kathy Kleinfelter of Ephrata, Ken Kleinfelter of Stevens; 2 sons, Dennis Auker, husband of Rochele Auker of Ephrata, Jerry Auker, husband of Meghan Auker of Ephrata; 4 grandchildren, Ashley, wife of Matt Horst, Rachel Hassell, Michelle Auker, Matthew Kleinfelter, 2 step-grandchildren, Bradon McEvoy, Katlyn Kroeck; 2 great grandchildren, Jaylyn McFadden and Ava Hassell; 6 siblings, Walter, husband of Beverly Krimes of Florida, Katherine, wife of Chuck Elmer of Florida, Verna, wife of Robert Bollinger of Union County, Bobby, husband of Doreen Krimes of Denver, Beaty, wife of David Weaver of Stevens and Douglas Krimes of Schoeneck.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th Street, Akron. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday, from 9 to 10 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by her funeral service at 10 a.m., with Pastor Roger Hornberger officiating. Interment will take place in the Mohlers Brethren Cemetery.

Baer, Lucille Marie Risser, 82, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Landis Homes, Lititz. She was born Wednesday, July 5, 1933 in Maugansville, MD, to the late John and Ida (Martin) Risser. She was married to Glenn E. Baer on August 18, 1956.

Lucille received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, VA. She retired in 1997 as the Food Service Director for the Elizabethtown School District where she worked for many years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, graandmother and friend.

In addition to her husband of over 59 years, she will be lovingly missed by her children: Melanie A Baer-Drescher and husband J. Douglas, of Lititz, Carlton P. Baer and wife Karen, of China; two grandchildren: Daniel P. and Rachel M. Baer; a sister, Doris Rosenberger, of Harrisonburg, VA; a brother, Donald Risser, of Hagerstown as well as Lucille's extended family and caring friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Swartzentruber.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family from 1:30 PM until the time of the service on Saturday. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery. Baer, Nelson Leroy, 96, a resident of the Mennonite Fellowship Home, Hagerstown, MD, departed this life in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 25, 2015.

He was born on August 15, 1919, in Shippensburg, a son of the late Adam and Ella Martin Baer.

Nelson was the former owner and operator of the Pinola Feed Mill and also Baer's Country Store.

He is survived by five daughters, Anne L. (Wilmer) Eby of Shippensburg, Erma J. (Nelson) Yoder of Millersburg, IN, Lois J. (Marcus) Overholt of Abbeville, SC, Nancy M. (David) Overholt of Abbeville, SC, and Lorna S. Yoder of Fayetteville; one brother, Harry Baer of Dunster, British Columbia; twenty three grandchildren; seventy-one great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Wingert Baer, who died on March 27, 2007; a daughter in infancy; one brother; three sisters; and two great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the Shippensburg Christian Fellowship Church at 10600 Blind Lane Shippensburg, PA 17257. The Rev. Wilmer Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Old Rowe Mennonite Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Bartel, Marvin D., 88, of Gap, Lancaster Co., PA died March 14, 2015 at Lititz, Lancaster Co., PA. He was born March 16, 1926 at Halstead, Kansas to David Andrew and Marie F. (Dyck) Baretel. On July 21, 1951 he was married to Martha Stoltzfus, who survives.

Surviving are children, Cindy (Jan) Sohar; Margaret Freed; Rose (Michael) Weaver; Albert (Marilyn) Bartel; Jane (Scott) Haught; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and siblings, Mildred Mueller; Frances Bartel; and Dorothy (Dale) Dick.

A son, Marvin W. Bartel, three brothers, Albert Bartel; Roland Bartel; and Olen Bartel; and two sisters, Ruth Marie Woodward; and Edna Clark preceded him in death.

Baus, Edward Daniel, 98, of Archbold, Fulton Co., OH died July 23, 2015 at Wauseon, Fulton Co., OH of natural causes. He was born April 2, 1917 at Wauseon, Fulton Co., OH to Peter and Katherine (Erbes) Baus. In 1939 in Archbold he was married to Leanna M. Nofzinger, who died in 1994.

Surviving are children, Gene (Marva) Baus and Larry (Eileen) Baus; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.

Beachy, Eleanor Ailene Jeanette Niemela, 81, of Hesston, Harvey Co., KS died August 12 2015 at Wichita, KS. She was born October 6, 1933 at Menahga, MN to Andrew and Selma (Ohlgren) Niemela. On June 2, 1956 she was married to Perry Beachy, who is deceased.

Surviving are a son, Jonathan (Gloria Hegge) Beachy and two sisters Rose Niemela Taylor and Lorraine Niemela.

Beachy, Iva Mary Rodes, 73, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at her residence. Mrs. Beachy was born on Aug. 18, 1942, in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late David Michael and Naomi Ruth (Koogler) Rodes. She was a lifelong member of the Mennonite Church and had been a member of Ridgeway Mennonite Church for the last 46 years.

Iva taught Sunday school for many years and also served on numerous committees at the church. During the '90s, she and her husband had a comedy team called Ma and Pa's Country Corn Time. She worked as a homemaker and most recently as a caregiver to elderly ladies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will greatly miss her.

On June 1, 1962, she married Wendell Elwood Beachy who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Beachy is survived by her daughters, Donna Marie Golden and husband, David, of Berlin, Ohio, and Jill Elaine LaPrevotte and husband, Paul, of Stuarts Draft; grandsons, Joshua and Wesley LaPrevotte; stepgranddaughter, Dana McWilliams; siblings, Martha Burkholder of Mount Crawford, Rhoda Bennett and husband, Frank, of Hinton, Ruby Rodes of Mount Crawford, John Rodes of Mount Crawford, Noah Rodes and wife, Ada, of Port Republic, Daniel Rodes of Mount Crawford, and Adin Rodes and wife, Verna, of Bridgewater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Frances "Priscilla" Beery, Catherine Rodes, Ruth Groff, Anna Lehman, Esther Good, Joseph Rodes and Aaron "Shorty" Rodes.

A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held on Monday Oct. 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Pike Mennonite Church with Wade Knicely officiating. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Mennonite Church with Pastors Ben Risser and Paul LaPrevotte officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ridgeway Mennonite Church. Arrangements entrusted to the McMullen Funeral Home.

Bechtel, Suetta Martin, 79, Goshen, died 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 at her home. She was born Sept. 15, 1936 in Elkhart County to Joseph E. & Mary (Shaum) Martin. She married James "Jim" E. Bechtel on Nov. 14, 1955 in the Goshen area.

Surviving are her husband, Jim, Goshen, children, Betty Sue (Lamar) Yoder, Erma "Diane" Bechtel, James Alan Bechtel, Pamela Mae Prough, Susan Marie (Leon) Shetler, Eric Jay (Marsha) Bechtel, Phillip John Bechtel and Charity (David) Halcomb, 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 6 brother & sisters. Suetta owned and operated the Oil Lamp Restaurant, New Paris, for 21 years from 1980-2001. She was a member of the Maple City Chapel and was a homemaker who loved to cook, sew and make quilts.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at Maple City Chapel, 2015 Lincolnway East, Goshen. Pastor Mel Shetler & Pastor Donnie Johnson will officiate. SHIPSHEWANA - Alvin Jay Beechy, 81, of Shipshewana, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at home.

He was born March 17, 1933, in LaGrange County to the late John A. and Anna (Frey) Beechy.

On Dec. 4, 1952, in LaGrange County, he married Ida Lehman.

Survivors include his wife; children Edna (Henry) Yoder of LaGrange, Olen (Ida Carolyn) Beechy, Mervin (Nola) Beechy, LaVern (Mary) Beechy, Orva (Dorothy) Beechy and David (Wilma) Beechy, all of Shipshewana; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; siblings Lydia (Ammon) Miller, Anna Mae (Harvey) Schrock, Daniel (Katie) Beechy and Ora (Anna) Beechy; and sisters-in-law Erma Beechy and Edna Mae Beechy.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth Miller, Mary Ann Miller, Katie Miller, Barbara Miller, Viola Beechy and Joe, Aaron and John Beechy.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, and all day Saturday, Jan. 24, at the family home, 5580 W. 200 N., Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at the family home. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery in Shipshewana.

SHIPSHEWANA - Ida Beechy, 82, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, May 30.

She was born April 16, 1933, in LaGrange County, to Daniel J. and Fannie N. (Troyer) Lehman.

On Dec. 4, 1952, in LaGrange County, she married Alvin Jay Beechy.

Surviving are her children, Edna (Henry) Yoder of LaGrange, Olen (Ida Carolyn) Beechy of Topeka and Mervin (Nola), LaVern (Mary), Orva (Dorothy) and David (Wilma) Beechy, all of Shipshewana; 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; siblings Susie (Monroe) Yoder and Dannie (Ada) Lehman, both of Shipshewana, Mary (Levi) Miller and John (Katie) and Floyd (Martha) Lehman, all of LaGrange, Katie (Harley) Bontrager of Millersburg, Ernest (Linda) Lehman of Goshen and Noah (Amanda) Lehman of Middlebury; and sisters-in-law Ida Mae Lehman of LaGrange and Elizabeth Lehman of Goshen.

TOPEKA - Clara Bender, 97, of Topeka, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at North Ridge Village in Albion.

She was born on May 29, 1917, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Lehman) Miller in Middlebury.

Mrs. Bender was a lifetime area resident and was a member of Maple Grove Church.

She enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. She loved growing her own flowers. Clara enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing board games with her grandchildren. She was still working crossword puzzles and checking books out of the library until she was 95.

She is survived by her seven children, Robert Bender of Green Valley, Ariz., Les (Judy) Bender of Albion, Romayne (Clara) Bender of Northport, Fla., Dean Bender of Goshen, Rose (Steven) Kienzler of LaOtto, Bonnie (Tom) Harlan of Ocala, Fla., and Gwen (Mike) Stump of Elkhart; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Alvin J. Miller of Millersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Gene Bender and Dayle Ann Bender; grandson Jonathon Bender; and four siblings.

There will be a funeral service in Mrs. Bender's honor at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Maple Grove Church, with Pastor Barry St. Clair and Pastor Harold Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Union Cemetery in Goshen. A time of visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, and for an hour prior to the service at Maple Grove Church.

Benner, Alberta E. Steffy, 94, died January 4, 2015, in Akron, PA. She was born 1920 in Leola, PA to Noah and Metta Steffy, she lived in Lancaster County all her life. Alberta was married for 67 years to Wilmer J. Benner who died in 2008. She was a member of Old Road Mennonite Church in White Horse, PA. She loved the Lord and was active in serving Him in teaching Sunday School, sewing circle, and in several M.C.C. related activities.

Surviving are four children: Louise, wife of the Rev. Irvin Martin of Lititz, Lonita, wife of Lee Englehart of Honey Brook, Marlin, husband of Suzanne (Koenig) Benner of Mohnton, Eileen, wife of Samuel Ringler of Narvon; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Jason Steffy and four sisters, Faith Buckwalter, Marian King, Edith Hershey, and Harriet Kepiro.

Preceding her in death by her husband Wilmer, a grandson, Gregory Myer; a great-grandson, Austin Plank; and 2 brothers, Chester Steffy and Allan Steffy.

Her funeral service was January 10, 2015 at Old Road Mennonite Church with Rev. Irvin L. Martin and Michael L. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

GOSHEN - Gladys Graber Beyler, 91, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born May 30, 1924, in Goshen, to C.L. and Mina (Roth) Graber.

On Feb. 1, 1947, she married Clayton V. Beyler of Protection, Kan., in Goshen. He died Oct. 13, 1973.

Mrs. Beyler is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy" (David Kuebrich) Beyler of Fairfax, Va., Mary L. Beyler of Hokkaido, Japan, Ruth (Paul) Conrad of Millersburg, Ohio and Carolyn "Jean" Beyler of Hyattsville, Md.; two sons, John (Karen) Beyler of Chappaqua, N.Y. and Richard (Jennifer) Beyler of Portland, Ore.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Areta Lehman and Lucille Swartzendruber, both of Goshen, and Lois (Byron) Bender of Honolulu.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Mildred Stoltzfus; and a brother, Richard D. Graber.

A member of College Mennonite Church, Mrs. Beyeler graduated from Goshen College with degrees in both biology and bible. She later received a nursing degree from Hesston College.

Gladys and her husband prepared for mission work in China at Yale but when they were unable to go, Clayton was called to teach at Hesston College.

In keeping with Mrs. Beyler's wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and a memorial service will be at a later date.

GOSHEN - Margaret B. Birky, 91, of Goshen and formerly of Elkhart, died Sunday, Jan. 18, at Greencroft Healthcare.

Margaret was born April 7, 1923, to the Rev. Emanuel and Elsie (Good) Birky in Kouts.

On Sept. 14, 1956, she married Homer H. Birky. He preceded her in death Sept. 25, 2003.

She is survived by a son, Douglas (Lori) Birky of White Pigeon, Mich.; a grandson, Wyatt Birky of White Pigeon; Keith Hoover, who was like a grandson; a brother, Wesley (Vera) Birky of Valparaiso; and sister-in-law Vivian Birky of South Bend.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Myron Birky.

Margaret was a medical secretary at Hudson Medical Group prior to retiring in 1965. She was devoted to her church's mission and service concerns throughout her life. During the years immediately following World War II, she served in Mennonite Central Committee offices in Akron, Pa.; Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; and Basel, Switzerland.

At Prairie Street Mennonite Church, at various points over the years, she served as one of the first female elders, was a member of the church council, was active in the congregation's tape ministry to shut-ins, was president of the Women's Mission and Service Auxiliary and chaired the congregation's memorial/?bequest committee.

Friends may call for an hour prior to the 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, memorial service at Prairie Street Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Frances Ringenberg officiating. Entombment will follow at a later date. Margaret has donated her body to the Indiana University Medical School.

Bishop, Elizabeth Muriel "Sandy" Swartz, 93, of Souderton, Montgomery Co., PA died June 24, 2015 at Abington Hospital, Lansdale, Montgomery, PA from an inability to fight the battle with pneumonia.

She was born August 30, 1921 at Grandview Hospital, Sellersville, Bucks, PA to Clarence Beidler Swartz and Sarah Elizabeth (Proctor) Horn. Clarence was born June 16 1902 and died May 14, 1974. Sarah was born September 7, 1899 and died October 1975.

On December 21, 1940 at St. Luke's UCC, Dublin, Bucks, Pa she was married to Paul Benner Bishop, who was born December 7, 1919 and died February 2, 1996.

Surviving are children, Rebecca Hendricks (Wilbur) of Telford Pa, Donna Bluemink (Gary) of Norfolk Va, Dave Bishop (Coleen Moyer) of Spartansburg Pa, and Alexander Bishop (Rosa Guerra) of Perkasie; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, B. June Swartz Burton.

Elizabeth Muriel Bishop died at Abington Hospital, Lansdale, Montgomery, Pa from an inability to fight the battle with pneumonia. Muriel as her family called her was born in Perkasie to Clarence "Charles" Swartz and Sarah Elizabeth Proctor. She worked outside the home for other families at a very young age but as a young woman met Paul Benner Bishop of Blooming Glen Bucks, Pa and they always playfully argued as to who proposed to whom but on 12/21/1940 at St. Luke's UCC in Dublin, Bucks, Pa they married. "Sandy" as she became known since it was easier for some of the Pa German mouths to say than Muriel, worked hard with her husband raising children, helping on the farm, educating herself by becoming an avid reader, teaching Sunday school, sewing dozens of quilts for schools and missions, volunteering at the Church sponsored Thrift store "Care and Share" for almost 40 years 20 hour s a week or more, for many many years she would go to what was then called Eastern Mennonite Home and fill her car with ladies and take them out for the day and the list can go on. Her husband Paul preceded her in death in 1996. Sandy and Paul were life long adult members of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church. Sandy had two children precede her in death, her daughter Nicole died as an infant in 1966, and her son John died at the hands of a careless driver in 2005. She leaves 4 children, 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 8 great, great grandchildren with 2 on the way. Sandy grew up with some difficult situations. Sometimes there was not enough food and clothing to go around for everyone in the family. She had some of the stereo typical step child hurtful situations shape her childhood. She grew up with strong opinions and was often quick to share her thoughts and experience especially when it came to wasting...anything. When it is all said and done as I look back on my li fe with my mother she is beyond a doubt one of the strongest, caring, disciplined, followers of Christ, and loving women this community has seen. She gave until her body gave out.

A son, Paul "Jonathan" Bishop in 2005, a daughter, Nicole Michal Bishop at 3 mo. 1996, four sisters, Claire Alberta Swartz Gauthier, Ethel May Horn Swartz, Grace Marie Horn Grosse, Mary Jane Horn Barbour, and a brother, Joseph Raymond Horn, Jr. preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held June 28, 2015 at Living Branches Souderton Mennonite Home, Souderton, PA, was cremated with gravestone at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church Cemetery, Blooming Glen, Bucks, PA.

Blank, Russell N., 91, of Souderton, PA died January 14, 2015 in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was born in Franconia, PA to Isaiah M. and Mamie (Nase) Blank. He and his beloved wife Dorothy D. (Leatherman) Blank would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. Mr. Blank was a member of Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII.

Survived by his wife Dorothy and a daughter, Beverly Hawkins and her husband Michael of Telford, a daughter-in-law, Irene Blank of Hatfield, five grandchildren: Stephani Bass and her husband Noah, Chad Hawkins, Benjamin Hawkins, Keith Blank and his wife Beth, Christi Blank, five great grandchildren: Zoe, Skylar, Tyler, Jordan, Alyssa, a brother, Ernest Blank and his wife Claire of Souderton, and a sister-in-law, Helen Blank of Quakertown.

He was preceded in death by a son, Russell L. Blank, a brother, Raymond Blank, and a sister, Mary Bumeder.

SALEM, OH - Herman H. Blosser, 84, died peacefully at 10:10 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Hospice House, Poland, Ohio.(Mahoning County)

He was born Oct. 4, 1930, in Columbiana, Ohio, a son of the late Samuel and Sadie Spiker Blosser and was a lifelong area resident.
Prior to his retirement, Herman had been employed as a machinist for Hunt Valve Company Inc. of Salem for 45 years.

He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a lifelong member of Midway Mennonite Church of Columbiana.
Mr. Blosser loved farming and spending time outdoors, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, the former, Eileen W. Perry, whom he married Oct. 2, 1953; three sons, Verne H. Blosser of Greenford, Phillip P. (Lisa) Blosser of Salem and Kevin S. (Joann) Blosser of Tyler, Texas; three daughters, Lynnette E. Kreidler of Enon Valley, Pa., Lisa M. (Don) Sawders of Columbiana and Sherri N. Fredericks of Leetonia; three brothers, Arthur Blosser of Columbiana, Emerson Blosser of Goshen, Ind. and Marcellus (Becky Tyson) Blosser of Elkart, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Herman was preceded in death by four sisters, Adelia Musselman, Berdella Miller, Christine Huffman and Hermine Blosser and a granddaughter, Precella Blosser.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Midway Mennonite Church. Burial will be at Midway Mennonite Cemetery.

Boll, Luke B., 84, of Stevens, formerly of Willow Street, PA died February 11, 2015, at Ephrata Community Hospital. He was born October 31, 1930 in Lititz to Noah and Viola (Benner) Boll and was the husband of Sara Ann (Swartzentruber) Boll with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Luke was a member of Rawlinsville Mennonite Church, Holtwood, where he served as deacon for 22 years.

Boll, Margaret B. Felpel, 82, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.

She was born in Manheim Twp. to the late George and Emeline (Burkholder) Felpel and was the wife of Warren B. Boll.

She was a member of Stumptown Mennonite Church and worked as a cashier for Oregon Dairy for 20 years.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by 2 brothers, Gerald B., husband of Doris E.(Getz) Felpel of East Earl; Glenn D., husband of Faye Lynn Felpel of Knoxville, TN; and a sister-in-law, Emma Felpel of Akron.

She was preceded in death by son, Dale Edward Boll; daughter, Audrey Lucille Boll; brother, Melvin B. Felpel; sister-in-law, Anna Mary (Eberly) Felpel.

GOSHEN - Alvin Bontrager, 89, died Monday at 5:35 p.m. in his residence.

He was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Mylo, N.D., to Levi D. and Lizzie (Graber) Bontrager.

On Dec. 23, 1950, he married Mary Louise Yoder in Topeka.

She survives along with five daughters, Debra (Robert) Kauffman, Rebecca (Kenneth) Horst and Patricia (Dale) Shenk, all of Goshen, Joyce (Jonathan) Yoder of Salem, Ore., and Virginia (Ray) Miller of Greencastle, Pa.; one son, Thomas of Bremen; 13 grandchildren, Amy (Neil Dufallo) Kauffman, Rachel Kauffman, Anne (Rod) Hanby, Daniel (Jessica Brubaker) Horst, David (Rachel) Horst Lehman, Mary (Rob Anderson) Yoder, Nathan (Allison) Yoder, Leah Yoder, Kelly (Peter) Shenk Koontz, Aaron Shenk, Andrew Shenk, James Miller and Monica Miller; four great-grandchildren, Leah and Ian Dufallo and Clara and Martha Hanby; and two sisters, Agnes (Laban) Hochstetler and Lucille (Paul) Shrock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Gladys Gingerich, Mary Slabaugh and Viola Bontrager.

Al farmed for many years in the Millersburg area. After moving to Topeka, he became a partner in, and worked at, Honeyville Metal.

He served as a volunteer prison chaplain for a year in Atmore, Ala., and, for five winters, as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Immokalee, Fla. He volunteered countless hours as a carpenter and woodworker. Following retirement to Goshen, he became known for the wooden model cars and tractors he designed and made for charity auctions.

Al was an avid reader and enjoyed music and fishing. Until his recent illness, he was an active volunteer at Menno-Hof, 10 Thousand Villages and at College Mennonite Church, where he was a member.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 10, at Yoder Culp Funeral Home in Goshen. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at College Mennonite Church. A private family graveside service will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Bethany Christian High School for "Sing the Journey" books; to Goshen College for the Bontrager Music Together Endowment Fund; or to College Mennonite Church.

Bontrager, Alvin L., 89, of Goshen , Elkhart Co., IN died April 6, 2015 at the same place. He was born August 28, 1925 at Mylo, ND to Levi D. and Lizzie (Graber) Bontrager. On December 23, 1950 at Topeka, IN he was married to Mary Louise Yoder, who was born November 1, 1932 and survives.

Memorial services were held April 11, 2015 at College Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka, IN.

GOSHEN - Amos LaVern Bontrager, 49, of Goshen, died at 9:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30.

He was born Feb. 8, 1965, in LaGrange, to Ervin and Edna (Schlabach) Bontrager.

On Sept. 24, 1986, in LaGrange County, he married Millie Bontrager.

Surviving are his wife; children Lydia Sue (Mark) Mullett, Amanda Kay (Matthew) Miller and Mary Edna (Vernon) Miller, all of Millersburg, Amy Jo (Nathan) Lehman of Goshen and Carol Ann, Sarah Jean, Marlene Rose and Nelson LaVern Bontrager, all at home; grandchildren Joshua LaVern Mullett and Amber Renee Lehman; his parents of Topeka; and siblings Elsa Mae (Ernest) Bontrager and Jerry Lee (LeAnna) Bontrager, both of Topeka, Ruby Fern (Gary) Yoder of Howe and Mary Ruth (Edwin Ray) Miller of Lincoln, Ariz.

Two brothers, Ervin Jr. and Cletus Ray Bontrager, predeceased him.

He had worked at Keystone RV and owned A.L. Enterprises.

Visitation will be all day Sunday, Feb. 1, at 13256 S.R. 4, Goshen. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at Maynard Yoder's, Superior Hardwood, 14737 S.R. 4, Goshen. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery.

GOSHEN - Ida J. Bontrager, 95, of Goshen, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

She was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Middlebury, to Jacob R. and Katie (Miller) Miller. On Dec. 12, 1939, in Middlebury, she married Joseph A. Bontrager. He died Dec. 14, 1981.

Survivors are daughters Anna (Omer) Schlabach of Middlebury, Sarah (Ervin) Chupp of Shipshewana, Katie (David) Bontrager and Mary (Orva) Lehman, both of Middlebury, Velda (Edward) Miller of Goshen, Edna (Clarence) Mast of Middlebury and Betty (Richard) Miller of Goshen; sons Vernon (Katie) Bontrager of Topeka, David (Linda) Bontrager of Middlebury and Daniel (Alice) Bontrager of Goshen; and 91 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Ida Eileen Bontrager, three grandchildren, eight brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be all day Friday, Dec. 25, at the family residence in Goshen. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at the Daniel Bontrager residence, 15030 C.R. 126, Goshen. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery.

SHIPSHEWANA - Ida Mae Bontrager, 78, died at 7:36 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at home.

She was born Oct. 28, 1936, in LaGrange County, to the late Edward and Amelia (Miller) Slabach.

On April 26, 1956, in LaGrange County, she married Perry Jay Bontrager. He died April 29, 1988.

Surviving are her children, Amelia "Sue" (Edwin) Yoder and LaVera Mae (Harley) Schlabach, both of Middlebury, Marlene Kay (DeWayne) Bontrager, Norma Jean (LeRoy) Lambright and Marvin Lee (Ida) and Norman Ray (Kathryn) Bontrager, all of Shipshewana and Anna Marie (Mervin) Yoder of Goshen; 37 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and siblings Nettie Hochstetler, Katie Yoder and Chris (Ramah) and Edward Jr. Slabach, all of Shipshewana.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday, July 10, and all day Saturday, July 11, at the family home, 9375 West S.R. 120, Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 12, at Henry Schwartz's home, 6255 N. 900 W., Shipshewana. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery.

GOSHEN - Isaiah Luke Bontrager, 1 day, son of Daryl K. and Vonda Kay (Hostetler) Bontrager of Goshen, died at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

He was born Monday, May 4, at New-Eden Care Center in Topeka.

Surviving are his parents; grandparents Freeman Jr. and Sara Hostetler of Topeka and Kenneth and Jewel Bontrager of Goshen; great-grandparents LaVern and Mabel Yoder and Freeman and Darla Hostetler, both of Topeka, Alvin and Mary Miller of Goshen, Ervin and Irene Bontrager of Millersburg; and great-great-stepgrandmother Mary Bontrager of Topeka.

He was born Nov. 12, 1926, to the late William L. and Mattie (Yoder) Bontrager.

On Jan. 20, 1948, he married Ruby Ellen Miller.

Surviving are his children, Fannie (Joe) Bontrager, Edna (Henry) Miller, Rosanna (Gerald) Hochstetler, Mattie (LaVern) Yoder and William (Annabelle), Amos (Elsie), Abe (Lydia Mae), Willis (Linda), Ezra (Wilma), Vernon (Ella Mae) and John (Ruby) Bontrager; 75 grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and siblings Ezra (Clara), Abe (Anna) Bontrager, Millie Stutzman, Emma Schmucker and Mattie (Chris) Graber.

He was preceded in death by his wife; sons Perry and Levi Bontrager; siblings Amos, Milo, Ida, Sarah and Lydia Bontrager, an infant brother, Mary and Polly Schrock, Ella Yoder and Susie Lambright.

LAGRANGE - Lonnie W. Bontrager, 10, of LaGrange, died Saturday, Nov. 7, after a four-year battle with cancer.

He was a third-grader.

Lonnie was born Oct. 25, 2005, in LaGrange, to William and Martha (Troyer) Bontrager. They survive him at home.

Also surviving are his paternal grandparents, Alva and Anna Bontrager of Centreville, Mich.; maternal grandparents, John and Lydia Troyer of Kingston, Wis.; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Naomi Bontrager, Rosanna and Nelson Kuhns, Marilyn Bontrager and Susan Bontrager, all of LaGrange; and two brothers, Leonard and Lamar Bontrager, both of LaGrange.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Katie Ann Bontrager, an uncle and two cousins.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the family's residence, 3180 E. 450 S., LaGrange. Bishop Levi Raber and home ministers will officiate.

Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, LaGrange.

A viewing will be held after 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the family's residence and all day Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Lorinda Ruth Bontrager, 16, of Goshen, went to be with Jesus when the angels called her home Friday afternoon following a motor vehicle accident.

She was born on September 12, 1998, in Ft. Wayne.

Survivors include her parents, Thomas and Rhoda (Schrock) Bontrager; a sister, Jennifer (Larry) Weaver; two brothers, Anthony Bontrager and Jaran Bontrager; grandparents, LeRoy and Velma Schrock all of Goshen; special family friends, Lamar and Rosetta Martin and their children, Mariana, Violet and Alyssa.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elam and Mary Bontrager. Lorinda was a member of the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church; she was a very outgoing young lady and a friend to everybody and lived life to the fullest. She was a real people person and had a concern for the youth in her community.

Surviving are sister Edna (William W. Jr.) Miller of Topeka; brother Levi E. (Emma) Bontrager of Shipshewana; 11 nephews; five nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Sarah Beachy; brother Harry Bontrager; niece Martha Gual; nephew Merle Miller; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Bontrager.

She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

GOSHEN - Nettie Marie Bontrager, 93, of Goshen, died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing in Goshen, where she had stayed since her fall on March 6.

She was born April 3, 1922, in Goshen, to Levi M. and Ida Mae (Miller) Schrock.

On Jan. 21, 1943, in Goshen, she married Vernon D. Bontrager. He survives.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, are four daughters, Eileen (Alvin) Miller of Goshen, Ruby (Richard) Beachy of Champaign, Ill., Phyllis Ramer of Wakarusa and Arloa (Rohrer Bomberger) Bontrager of Goshen; a daughter-in-law, Patty Bontrager of Howe; three sons, Leonard (Judy) Bontrager of Rochester, Clifford (Julia) Bontrager of Pangburn, Ark., and Myron (Dana) Bontrager of Goshen; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren; three sisters, Frieda (Sam) Yoder of Nashwauk, Minn., Christina Schrock of Ligonier and Naomi (Mervin) Mast of Goshen; and four brothers, LeRoy Schrock of Sparta, Wis., Stanley Schrock of Macon, Miss., Clifford Schrock of Augusta, Wis., and Levi Schrock Jr. of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Glendon; four sisters, Mildred Shetler, Lydia Ann Bontrager, Mary Ellen Miller and Darlene Schrock; and a brother, Leon Schrock.

Nettie was a member of Roselawn Mennonite Church in Middlebury. She served as head cook for four years at Bethel Camp in Rowdy, Ky., was a homemaker and was well known for her giving and generous spirit.

She will always be remembered for her homemade cookies, bread and delicious meals, many of which were given away as gifts of appreciation or as a blessing to those in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, funeral service at Siloam Fellowship in Goshen. Services will be conducted by Myron Bontrager and the Revs. Thad Lechlitner and Troy Brubacher. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Goshen.

SHIPSHEWANA - Orva Bontrager, 72, of Shipshewana, died Wednesday, Dec. 16.

He was born on July 13, 1943, in LaGrange County to Samuel R. and Susan Bontrager.

He married Wilma J. Frey on March 21, 1963, in LaGrange County. She survives.

Other survivors include daughters Edna Fern Eash of Millersburg, Sue Ella Bontrager, LeEtta Miller, Arlene Miller and Marie Schlabach, all of Shipshewana, Irene Lehman of Topeka and Treva Miller of Topeka; sons Freeman Bontrager of Topeka, Wilbur Lee Bontrager of Goshen, Kenneth Bontrager of Burr Oak, Mich., and Orva Bontrager Jr. of Shipshewana; 51 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; brothers Ervin Bontrager of Shipshewana and Samuel Bontrager Jr. of Wolcottville.

Bontrager, Sharon S. Nisley
May 28, 1944 - Sept. 1, 2015

GOSHEN - Sharon S. Bontrager, 71, died Tuesday morning at her home following a cancer diagnosis in 2013.

She was born May 28, 1944, in Goshen, to Ervin and Lovina (Kropf) Nisley. On July 29, 1966, she married Merv Bontrager at North Goshen Mennonite Church, Goshen.

He survives along with daughters Monica (Mike) Sperl of Waupaca, Wis., and Heather Bontrager of Cedar Lake; and grandchildren Amber and Luke Sperl.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother and sister.

Sharon and Merv spent 14 years living in suburban Chicago and St. Louis before returning to Goshen. She taught kindergarten through second grade at various schools, retiring from Concord Community Schools in 2007.

She was a member of Silverwood Mennonite Church, the Dunlap Lions Club and the Gene Van Accordion Group. Sharon was a very positive person and had a passion for sewing, tailoring clothes and doing embroidery work.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Silverwood Mennonite Church, where an 11 a.m. Friday memorial service will take place. Pastor Rachel Nolt will officiate.

According to her wishes cremation will take place with burial at a later date.

LAGRANGE - Wilma Fern Bontrager, 22, of LaGrange, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at ARC Opportunities of LaGrange County, she had stayed there one week for respite care.

She had been ill since birth with cerebral palsy.

She was born May 14, 1992, in LaGrange County, to Verlin and Mary (Lehman) Bontrager.

Survivors include her parents; grandparents Ervin and Lydia Mae Lehman of LaGrange and Glenn (Polly Anna) Bontrager of Topeka; sisters Waneta Bontrager of Middlebury, JoAnn (Michael) Yoder of Shipshewana and Marlene Bontrager of LaGrange; brothers Kevin (Elaine) Bontrager of Topeka and Marlin Bontrager of LaGrange; nieces Sara Bontrager and Alaina Yoder; and nephews Arlin Bontrager and LaVon Bontrager.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, and all day Saturday, March 28, at the family's home, 5015 W. U.S. 20, LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 29, at the same home. Services will be conducted by Bishop Dan W. Yoder and the home ministers. Burial will be in Beechy Cemetery in LaGrange.

Borkholder, Jeremy Wayne

NAPPANEE - Jeremy Wayne Borkholder, 36, formerly of Nappanee, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, April 9, at Signature Health Care in Bremen after a long illness following a scooter accident near Nappanee on Aug. 13, 1995.

He was born April 30, 1978, in Bremen, to Loren J. and Marilyn (Hochstetler) Borkholder.

Jeremy lived his lifetime in this area. He attended South Side Elementary and Nappanee Middle School. He loved all sports and knock-knock jokes and enjoyed being around little children. He was a member of Berea Christian Fellowship.

Jeremy is survived by his mother, Marilyn Borkholder of Nappanee; brothers Joshua Loren Borkholder of Indianapolis, Joel Devon Borkholder at home and John Ira (Tricia) Borkholder of Elkhart; and his grandmother, Laura Hochstetler of Nappanee.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 11, and from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home in Nappanee. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, at The Pond, 3403 E. County Line Road, Nappanee. There will also be visitation for an hour prior to the service. The Home Ministry of Berea Christian Fellowship will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

NAPPANEE - Micah Lynn Borkholder, 4, of Nappanee, died peacefully at 12:20 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at his home after a two-month illness.

He was born Sept. 14, 2011, to Christy Owen and Loranna W. (Borkholder) Borkholder in Nappanee.

They survive, along with sisters Geneva Rose and Janelle Renae Borkholder; brothers Owen Eugene, Kevin Daniel and Adrian James Borkholder, all at home; grandparents Wayne and Irene (Miller) Borkholder and Willis and Freida (Helmuth) Borkholder, all of Nappanee; and great-grandparents Dorothy Borkholder of Nappanee, Eli Borkholder of Bremen and Ben (Ida) Miller of Goshen.

Family and friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, and all day Monday, Nov. 30, at the family residence, 71985 C.R. 100,. NAPPANEE - Zachary Mark Borkholder, 2-month-old son of Joey and Cynthia (Plank) Borkholder of Nappanee, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

He was born prematurely July 26, 2015, at South Bend Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are his parents; grandparents Joseph and Rachel (Yutzy) Plank and Wayne and Irene (Miller) Borkholder, all of Nappanee; and great-grandparents Levi and Drusilla (Kauffman) Plank, John and Malinda (Raber) Yutzy, Owen and Dorothy (Bender) Borkholder, all of Nappanee, and Ben and Ida (Miller) Miller of Goshen.

Zachary's parents are members of the Old Order Amish Church.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, and all day Monday, Oct. 5, at the family residence. GOSHEN - Lee Roy Borntrager, 76, of Goshen, died Thursday, April 9, in Sarasota, Fla.

He was born Oct. 2, 1938, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Chris (Giddle) and Lydia Ann (Miller) Borntrager.

On June 28, 1959, he married Pauline Kaufman.

Survivors include his wife; children Doyle (Debra) Borntrager of Goshen, Don (Gwen) Borntrager of Farmington, Ark., Dale (Claudia) Borntrager of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Diann (Phil) Bontrager of Cromwell; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; and siblings Calvin and Larry Borntrager, both of Middlebury, Lloyd (Evelyn), Ernie (LaVerda) and Elsie Borntrager, all of Goshen, Urie (Edna) Borntrager of Sarasota, Milton (JoAnn) Borntrager of Louisville, Ky., and Verda (Benny) Vallejo of Phoenix.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Larry Borntrager.

He worked at Star Tank for 16 years and owned and operated Topeka Supply for 23 years.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Siloam Fellowship in Goshen. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, at the church. Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery in Goshen.

Borntrager, Lee Roy, 76, of, Goshen, IN died April 9, 2015 in Sarasota, FL. He was born on October 2, 1938 in Canton, OH, to Chris (Giddle) and Lydia Ann (Miller) Borntrager. On June 28, 1959 at Townline Mennonite Church he married Pauline Kaufman. He was a member of Siloam Fellowship, Goshen, and also served as a Gideon for 22 years. He pastored a church near Oneida, KY, for 7 years.

Borntrager, Lydia A. Schrock, 93, of Goshen, formerly of Middlebury, IN died March 13, 2015 at the Maples at Waterford Crossing, Goshen, IN. She was born on March 7, 1922, in Shipshewana, to Andrew and Anna (Yoder) Schrock. On October 7, 1943 in Shipshewana she married Crist T. Borntrager; he died September 19, 2008. Lydia was a member of Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church

Surviving are three daughters, Esther (Leroy) Cross, Naomi Chapman and Annetta (Tom) Good all of Goshen; three sons, Ivan (Jane) Borntrager of Goshen, Marvin (Linda) Borntrager of Clermont, FL, Norman (Julie) Borntrager of Middlebury; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, four step
grandchildren, six step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers, Sam, Andrew, William, Edward and David Schrock; three sisters, Polly Schrock, Amanda Yoder and Sarah Bontrager, son-in-law, Joseph Chapman.

A celebration of life service was March 16, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church Goshen, IN conducted by Bishop Randall Riegsecker and the Pleasant Grove Ministry Team. A private burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Goshen.

Boyts, Bernita Martin, 78, of Hesston, Harvey Co., KS died March 13, 2015 at the same place. She was born March 26, 1936 at Wellman, IA to Bill and Dorothy Martin. She was married to Harold Boyts.

Surviving are children, Michelle Boyts; Michael Boyts (Cindy Hoedel); and Rick (Mary) Boyts; two grandchildren, two sisters, Carol (Ray) Bontrager and Cheryl (Wendell) Miller, and a brother, Gary (Mary) Martin.

Brackbill, Paul L., 88, of Ephrata, died March 18, 2015 at Fairmount Homes. Born in Paradise, PA to Isaac and Anna Herr Brackbill. He was the husband of Betsy E. Weber Brackbill. They were married for 21 years. He was member of Grace Point Church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four step-children, Dolores wife of Martin Matamoros of Costa Rica, Donna McCarthy of Wheat Ridge, CO, Dawn wife of Brian Smith of Austin, TX, Loren Martin husband of Nichole of San Diego, CA; nine step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter.

Brenneman, Ruth Pauline Marner, 93, of Wellman, IA died June 25, 2015 at the same place. She was born March 5, 1922 at Parnell, IA to Vernon and Sadie (Yoder) Marner. On January 2, 1946 at Wellman, she was married to Willard S. Brenneman, who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Duane (Emma Lee) Brenneman, Donald (Margie) Brenneman, Kathleen (Allen) Schlabach, Karol (Lori) Brenneman, and Loren "Pete" Brenneman, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Fanni (Wilbur) Birky.

Two grandsons, Jeffery Brenneman and Michael Brenneman, four brothers, Galen, Robert, Dale and Kenneth Marner; and a sister, Mary Etta Mayward preceded her in death.

Brubacker, Eva M. Stauffer, 87, of Leonardtown, Md., formerly of Port Trevorton, Pa., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at the home of her daughter, Thelma Zimmerman of Leonardtown, with whom she resided at the time of her death.

She was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Ephrata, Pa., a daugther of the late David W. and Mary M. Stauffer.

She was engaged in child-caring and teaching until she married in 1976, to Phares S. Brubacker Sr. who preceded her in death in 2007.

Eva was a member of Stauffer's Old Order Mennonite Church, Port Trevorton.

She is survived by stepchildren, Edith Stauffer, of Elkhorn, Ky., Leon Brubaker, of Port Trevorton, Ivan Brubacker, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Ruth Auker, of Vandalia, Ill., Erwin Brubacker, of Columbus, N.C., Thelma Zimmerman, of Leonardtown, Sylvia Phillips, of Middleburg, Phares Brubacker Jr., of Leonardtown, Bertha Zimmerman, of Hillsboro, Ohio, Paul Brubaker, of Newmanstown, Lucie Brubacker and Linda Brubacker, both of Mount Pleasant Mills; 52 grandchildren; and 81 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Irene Brubacker; one son, Edwin Brubacker; and one great-grandson.

Brubaker, Elvin Z., 55, died Friday, December 4, 2015, at Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was born on June 24, 1960, in Lebanon, son of Leonard L. and Miriam S. Zimmerman Brubaker of Myerstow. On March 7, 1981, he married Verna S. Newswanger. Elvin was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference.

Brubaker, Elwood G., 96, formerly of Lancaster, PA died, June 15, 2015 at Landis Homes. Born in Lancaster, PA to Jacob S. and Anna Mae Garber Brubaker. He was a member of Landis Valley Christian Fellowship, Lancaster, PA where he served as a trustee and on the cemetery committee. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Larch Mount Hunting Camp in Potter Co.

The last of his immediate family, he is survived by 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Paul, and Ezra Brubaker; and four sisters, Ethel Brubaker, Elizabeth Esbenshade, Ruth Brubaker, and Anna Mae Sauder.

Funeral service was June 22, 2015 at the Landis Valley Christian Fellowship Lancaster, PA with interment following in the adjoining cemetery.

Brubaker, Hilda S. Shertzer, 95, formerly of 1577 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at RiverWoods. She was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Millersville, a daughter of the late Benjamin N. and Laura H. (Haverstick) Shertzer.

Following her marriage to Noah M. Brubaker on June 20, 1942, she began an egg route selling the eggs from the chickens they raised on their farm. In 1971 they moved to Union County to continue farming. Hilda attended the Millersville Normal School. She was a member of East District Mennonite Church, Watsontown, and a former member of the Rohrerstown Mennonite Church.

A people person, Hilda was very giving and enjoyed socializing and meeting new people. She loved gardening, singing, playing games and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Hilda and Noah also enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Sarasota, Florida.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, James C. and Naomi Brubaker, of Lewisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Miriam L. and Lamar Hackman, of Lewisburg; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, one who died in infancy and David Brubaker who died in 1986; three sisters, Naomi, Alta and Susan Shertzer; and two brothers, Benjamin H. and Raymond H. Shertzer.

Friends will be received from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. Monday at the East District Mennonite Church, 71 East District Road, Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 7 p.m.

Brubaker, Lester G., age 86, of Plymouth, OH, died early Friday morning, March 6, 2015 at his home.

Lester was born November 9, 1928 in Lancaster County, PA, the son of the late Jesse A. and Ida H. (Gehman) Brubaker. Lester was a farmer his entire life and was a member of the Chester Mennonite Church in Wooster.

Lester is survived by his wife, Elsie H. (Martin) Brubaker, whom he wed on May 30, 1957. Also surviving are: 7 children: Eugene (Mildred) Brubaker of Kinzers, PA, Ervin (Mary Ellen) Brubaker of Bloomville, OH, Earl (Barbara) Brubaker of Shelby, OH, Mary Ann (Jere) Zimmerman of Narvon, PA, Ray (Joy) Brubaker of Greenwich, OH, John (Susan) Brubaker of Plymouth, OH, Linda (Ross) Martin of Denver, PA; 37 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Reuben (Leah) Brubaker of Martindale, PA; Emanuel (Judith) Brubaker of Ephrata, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a grandson, Mark R. Brubaker; a great grandson, Scott Garman; 2 brothers: Elvin Brubaker, Elam Brubaker; 4 sisters: Mary Shirk, Edith Shirk, Irene Shirk, and Goldie Brubaker.

Brubaker, Martha E. Byler

PORT TREVORTON - Martha E. Brubaker, 86, of Port Trevorton, passed away peacefully, Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Burton, Ohio, on Feb. 13, 1929, a daughter of the late Christian and Sarah (Shrock) Byler. On May 14, 2005, she married Donald Brubaker who survives.

Martha was a member of the Susquehanna Mennonite Church, Port Trevorton.

She was a seamstress for Carmans Sewing Factory for many years; she also was a farm maid and cook for local restaurants. In her spare time she enjoyed helping with sewing projects for church relief programs, gardening, and sewing for her children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Cleon Bauman, of Port Trevorton, and two sons and daughter-in-laws, Wayne and Elizabeth Martin and Leroy and Donna Martin, all of Selinsgrove; one stepson, Lloyd Brubaker, of Mount Pleasant Mills; four stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Bertha and Glen Miller, Debra Brubaker and Agnes Brubaker, all of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Millie and Leroy Walters, of Kreamer; nine grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Aaron S. Martin; one brother, Noah Byler; and one half-brother, David Byler.

Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. Brubaker, Mary Z. Shelly, 92, formerly of Manheim, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, September 9, 2015 at Landis Homes where she has made her home since 2012. Born in Rapho Twp., Lancaster County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin B. and Bertha Zeager Shelly. She was the wife of Howard N. Brubaker for 67 years.

A homemaker, Mary was a faithful member of Erisman Mennonite Church where she taught Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Sewing Circle over the years. In addition to solving jigsaw puzzles and crocheting, she enjoyed quilting, with one of her quilts covering a bed in the Monticello home of former United States President Thomas Jefferson.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Donald, husband of Marian Whisler Brubaker, of Landisville, and Elaine, wife of Fred MacDonald, of Strafford, NH; four grandchildren; and 2 great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Ruth Shelly, Menno Shelly, and Paul Shelly.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM at West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543 with Andrew Miller and Donna Mack Shenk officiating. Brubaker, Verna B. Horst

RUTLEDGE, MO Verna B. (Horst) Brubaker, 86, went to her reward, January 23, 2015, at her residence near Rutledge, Mo. (She had a home on the Mark Martin property the past four years.) Verna was born on October 27, 1928, in Goodville, Pa. to the late Rufus and Lizzie (Burkholder) Horst. On November 5, 1949, Verna married Alvin B. Brubaker. They were married 58 years until his death December 21, 2007. Verna was a member of the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Mo.

She is survived by their eight children, Edwin and (Esther Hoover) Brubaker of Memphis, Mo., Miriam and (Paul Reiff) of Mohnton, Pa., Rachel and (Martin High) of Lebanon, Pa., Ruth and (Edwin Horst) of Memphis, Mo., Mary and (Mark Martin) of Rutledge, Mo., Martha and (Marlin Martin) of Loyal, Wisc., Raymond and (Julia Hoover) Brubaker of Centerview, Mo., Linda and (Ralph Burkholder), of Downing, Mo.; 48 grandchildren; and 116 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Edith (widow of Jonas) Zimmerman of Lebanon, Pa. and Elizabeth (widow of Titus) Hoover of Lititz, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, Grace (widow of Earl) Horst and Janis (widow of Irvin) Horst.

Verna was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Elaine Brubaker and Jerome Horst; and three sisters, Edna B. Martin, Susie B. Brubaker and Alta B. Martin; four brothers, Ivan B. Horst, Earl B. Horst, Irvin B. Horst and Rufus B. Horst.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Mo. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015, at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center south of Rutledge, Mo. Burial will be in the Millport Mennonite Cemetery south of Rutledge, Mo. Officiating the services will be Abner Oberholtzer, Earl Oberholtzer, Carl Hoover and Calvin Hoover. WALNUT CREEK, Ohio - Dorothy Helen Brunk, 90, died April 1 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Ohio.

She was the loving and devoted wife of Mennonite minister Lawrence Brunk. He passed away in December 2013.

Lawrence and Dorothy were married on Christmas Eve in 1945 and together raised five children.

She was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Inwood, W.Va., and was the eldest of A.J. and Alta (Maust) Metzler's six children.

After attending Eastern Mennonite College, Dorothy served with Lawrence under the Mennonite Board of Missions Building Community and Christian Fellowship in Argentina for 24 years.

Always identified by her warmth, kindness and giving, it was Dorothy's smile that will perhaps leave the most enduring image for those who knew her. Dorothy lived a joyful life of service and leaves an indelible imprint of love and compassion on the communities she served and the lives she touched.

She is survived by her children, Gary Brunk, Louisa Weber, Patricia Brunk, Susan Brunk and Debra Brunk; her grandchildren, Jessica Sprague-Jones, Leticia Weber, Daniela Boyajian, Felipe Boyajian, Amanda Sprague-Brunk, Keegan Brunk Fraederick, Therese Orbea and Matias Orbea; great-grandchildren Anna Weber-Loomis, Zeke Weber-Loomis, Ramona Sprague-Jones, Russell Sprague-Jones, Akabi Alman Boyajian and Charo Alman Boyajian; and siblings Edgar and Carl Metzler, Alice Roth, Joyce Hostetler and Jay Metzler.

Brunk, James "Jim" Robert, Sr., MD, son of Harry Anthony Brunk Sr. and Lena Gertrude Burkholder Brunk, died Dec. 3, 2015, at Oak Lea of Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. Born in his grandfather's house on Weaver Avenue in 1926, he grew up in Park View and attended Park School and Eastern Mennonite School.

He served in the Civilian Public Service in Dennison, Iowa; Powellville, Md., and Missoula, Mont., where he proudly served in the smokejumpers. He also served on a cattle ship carrying over 1,500 animals to Europe with the Merchant Marine. Upon his return from public service, he graduated from Eastern Mennonite College and was the first medical student from EMC to be accepted to the graduate program of medicine at the University of Virginia, where he received his medical degree. He worked seven years at the Blue Ridge Sanatorium in Charlottesville. Jim also completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia. He worked in student health at U. Va., until moving to Harrisonburg in 1963 to join the practice of Drs. John and Jean Wine. He continued to practice internal medicine in Harrisonburg until his retirement mid-1990s. He helped start a Coronary Care Unit and the Respiratory Therapy Department at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Jim served as clinical assistant professor of internal medicine at U.Va. He was founding member of Charlottesville Mennonite Church and was a member of the Chicago Avenue Mennonite Church, which became Harrisonburg Mennonite Church, since 1963. He was a member of the Gideon's International.

In retirement, he used his skills in carpentry with the Mennonite Disaster Service and the Brethren Mennonite Cultural Museum. He was an accomplished watercolor artist and served 20 years in the National Ski Patrol. He truly enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren exploring nature, art, sporting events, horseback riding, hunting and the gentle debate.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, whom he married July 10, 1948, Thelma Ketterman Brunk and four children: Bob and Keri Sue Brunk, Harrisonburg; Beth and Robert Bergey of Hellertown, Pa.; John and Juli Brunk of Sarasota, Fla.; and Don and Becky Brunk of Bellingham, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, S. Frederick Brunk, MD., of Minnesota, and Harry A. Brunk Jr. of Harrisonburg.

Mr. Brunk was preceded in death by a brother, David C. Brunk. Pastor Mark Keller and Dr. Myron Augsburger will conduct a memorial service Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. Burial will be private at Weavers Cemetery. Brunk, Merle S., 76, a resident of Dayton, passed away Feb. 3, 2015. Mr. Brunk was born June 26, 1938 in Denbigh, Va., and was a son of the late Menno S. and Sebe Harman Brunk.

He was a dealer for Snap-on-Tools. He responded to a calling to serve in many capacities in small churches. In later years, he enjoyed sharing his love of gospel music as a program host on WBTX, a local radio station. As his family grew, he involved them in travel and camping to attend many gospel concerts. He was an avid Christian who loved reading the Bible and sharing his beliefs. He was a current member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. On May 31, 1958, he married the former Theda M. Ruppert, who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Don R. Brunk of Mathias, W.Va., Michael S. Brunk and wife, Debbie E., of Harrisonburg and Joseph E. Brunk and wife, Heidi, of Radford; two brothers, David J. Brunk and wife, Susan L., of Harrisonburg and Raymond P. Brunk and wife, Reba S., of Dayton; one sister, Frances B. Miller of Pleasant Valley; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brunk was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Jo Brunk, in 1986.

Darrell Zook will conduct a funeral service Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Weavers Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Weavers Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home.

Bucher, A. Lois Myer of Landisville, 75, went Home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community in Manheim following an illness of eight years. Lois was the daughter of the late Amos and Eleanor (Wenger) Myer. She and her husband, James C. Bucher, were married for 53 years 31/2 months.

An LPN and homemaker, she most recently worked for former Hospice of Lancaster County for 13 years. With her husband, she was deeply involved in church work. Her compassionate nature was known to many.

Lois is survived by her husband, James C. Bucher; four children, J. Calvin Bucher, husband of Rebecca, Brenda Long, wife of Daryl, J. Kenneth Bucher, husband of Ylande, and A. Kathryn Bucher; 10 grandchildren, Kristopher, Karyn, Kevin, Kristieana, Charles, Tiara, Tory, Talitha, Ymonie, and Joshua; four great grandchildren; three siblings, John Myer, husband of Gayle, Charles Myer, husband of Kay, and Rachel Miller, wife of Glen; and a brother-in-law, Richard Landis. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Landis.

Her family wishes to thank all those who have helped with Lois's care in the last years of her life.

GOSHEN - Dawn Alice Buckwalter, 62, of Goshen, died Sunday, Feb. 8.

She was born July 29, 1952, to Mennonite missionaries Ralph and Genevieve (Lehman) Buckwalter in Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan.

Dawn lived her first 18 years in Japan and then came to the U.S. She was a graduate of Hesston College, Eastern Mennonite College and Georgia State University.

She served one year in Mennonite Voluntary Service at Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities in Mantua, Ohio, and three years with Mennonite Central Committee in Grande-Riviere-du-Nord, Haiti.

Dawn did secretarial work and later medical transcription, working for Mennonite Mutual Aid, Goshen College, Maple City Healthcare Center, IU South Bend and MD-IT. Throughout her life, Dawn was a person of conscience, integrity and compassion. She touched the lives of many with her giving, caring spirit.

She is survived by her mother, Genevieve Buckwalter of Goshen; sister Rosemary (Ray) Hershberger of Columbus, Ohio; brother Michael (Yoko Ohmi) Buckwalter of Shintoku, Japan; and nieces Emily Hershberger (Brian Bolton) of Harrisonburg, Va., Lisl Hershberger of Boston and Selina and Marie Ohmi Buckwalter, both of Shintoku.

GOSHEN - Genevieve Fern (Lehman) Buckwalter, 91, of Goshen, died Sunday, Feb. 22.

She was born Dec. 25, 1923, to Joseph and Stella (Sharp) Lehman in Kenmare, N.D.

After her father's death in 1928, the family moved to Fairview, Mich. Genny was a graduate of Fairview High School and La Junta (Colo.) School of Nursing in La Junta. She also studied at Hesston (Kan.) College and Goshen College.

On June 12, 1947, she married Ralph E. Buckwalter. In December 1949 they were sent by the Mennonite Board of Missions in Elkhart as first missionaries to Japan, along with Carl and Esther Beck. Genny and Ralph served together in Hokkaido for 30 years, planting and nurturing congregations in Kushiro, Hombetsu, Obihiro, Asahikawa and Furano.

After Ralph's death in 1980, Genny served another 10 years, continuing her life's call until her retirement in 1989, when she moved to Goshen.

Genny was an active member of East Goshen Mennonite Church and Faith Mennonite Church. She volunteered widely in the community, including at Greencroft Healthcare and Goshen Hospice and taught English to Japanese women. She was a member of Evergreen Singers and Seniors for Peace. Genny was a gentle woman of strong faith and courage. She is remembered lovingly by friends and family in Japan and in the U.S.

Genny is survived by her daughter, Rosemary (Ray) Hershberger of Columbus, Ohio; son Michael (Yoko Ohmi) of Shintoku, Japan; granddaughters Emily (Brian Bolton) Hershberger of Harrisonburg, Va., Lisl Hershberger of Boston and Selina and Marie Ohmi Buckwalter, both of Shintoku; sisters Mary Handrich of Grand Marais, Mich., Ethel (Daniel) Slabaugh of Sturgis, Mich., and Josephine Swartzendruber of Rocky Ford, Colo.; and brother David G. Lehman of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sister Ruth Buller; brother Reuel Lehman; daughter Dawn Buckwalter; and three children and a grandchild, all of whom died shortly after birth, Karen, Robert and Thomas Buckwalter and Rosanna Hershberger.

A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. March 29 at Faith Mennonite Church, 1201 S. 11th St., Goshen. A time of visitation and fellowship, with light refreshments, will be from 3:30 p.m. prior to the service. The visitation will follow a memorial service for Dawn Buckwalter, which will be at 2 p.m., also at Faith Mennonite Church. Dawn Buckwalter passed away Feb. 8 in Goshen.

Buffington-Miller, Helen Grubb, 88, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, PA, joined her Lord March 5, 2015. She was born August 2, 1926, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Irvin R. and Mabel Culbertson Grubb. Helen married her first husband, William E. Buffington, on September 2, 1945, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2002. She married her second husband, Arden T. Miller, on January 17, 2004, and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2010.
The "Queen B" is survived by children Cheryl A. Hasson and husband, John, of Reedsville; William I. Buffington and wife, Rosemary, of Stuart, FL; Ralph M. Buffington and wife, Deborah, of Acworth, GA; Bruce J. Buffington and wife, Laura, of Lewistown; David L. Helen graduated from Newport High School and Indiana State Teachers' College and did post-graduate work at Penn State University. She taught at several schools in Hawaii as well as Greenwood High School, Perry County. She was a life member of Mifflin County Garden Club, Mifflin and Perry County Historical Societies, and a Mifflin County and PA State Republican Committeewoman. She was currently a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville. The most important things in her life were her family and The Lord. Helen had an affinity for Hawaii as she and Bill lived there for seven years and their three eldest children were born there.
A memorial service will be held in July when the entire family is gathered together.

WAKARUSA - Lydia Mae Burkey, 94, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

She was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Marshall County, to Joseph and Emma (Miller) Schwartz.

Mrs. Burkey was a lifetime area resident. She was married to Paul L. Burkey on Nov. 2, 1941, in Nappanee. He preceded in death March 2, 1990.

She was a homemaker and worked on the farm with her husband. Mrs. Burkey was a member of Holdeman Mennonite Church. She was a very supportive farmer's wife and a wonderful role model to her family. She was a strong supporter of Faith Mission.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Mast; daughter-in-law Linda Burkey; sister Amanda Weaver; and brother Ray Schwartz.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and for one hour prior to the funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Holdeman Mennonite Church. Burkey, Lydia Mae Schwartz, 94, of Wakarusa, Elkhart Co., IN died September 2, 2015 at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, IN. She was born September 21, 1920 in Marshall County, IN to Joseph and Emma (Miller) Schwartz. On November 2, 1941 at North Main Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee, IN she was married to Paul L. Burkey, who died March 2, 1990.

Surviving are children, Diana (Wayne) Weldy, Beverly (Lavern) Coblentz, James Burkey; all of Wakarusa; son-in-law Erza (Barbara) Mast, Middlebury; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother - Ervin Schwartz, Wakarusa; sisters - Esther Helmuth, Nora (Dale) Welty, both of Wakarusa, Clara (Sanford) Kilmer, Goshen, and Laura (William) Yoder, New Paris.

A daugher, Phyllis Mast; a daughter-in-law, Linda Burkey, a sister, Amanda Weaver, and a brother, Ray Schwartz preceded her in death.

Burkhart, William Issac "Ike", 85, of Denver, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Brecknock Twp. to the late Elmer and Katie (Good) Burkhart and was the husband of Laura (Coldren) Burkhart, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.

Ike was a member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Denver. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, dart ball, building and remodeling, traveling and playing cards. He was a Cub Master in his earlier years. Ike's best buddy was Max the cat. Ike worked as a Housing Inspector, and formerly was a carpenter. He was a graduate of Mohnton High School class of 1947.

In addition to his wife, Ike is survived by a daughter, Denise Burkhart of Ephrata and sister, Kathryn Sensenig of Ephrata.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Burkhart.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 20, from 1 to 2 pm at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver, followed by funeral services held at 2 pm, with Pastor Schwabe-Fry officiating. Interment will take place in the Muddy Creek Cemetery.

Burkhart, Wilmer H., 84, formerly of Terre Hill, passed on to his heavenly home while surrounded by his family after a short illness on Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Pleasant View Retirement Community. He is survived by his wife, Anna W. (Snader) Burkhart of Manheim, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Brecknock Twp., Lanc. Co., he was the son of the late Harry N. and Suie (Hurst) Burkhart.

Actively involved at Bowmansville Menno-nite Church, he had taught Sunday School for 50 years, served as Sunday School Supt., and had been a youth advisor. Wilmer was a hard-working man, working as a heating and cooling technician many years at C.M. Good, Sico and Lin Good & Sons. He also had worked in the produce dept. at Shady Maple for ten years following retirement. He enjoyed playing bluegrass music with his brothers, bus trips and taking his grandchildren on fishing trips and time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Anna, are his children, Linda J., married to Daniel Althouse, East Earl; Linford J., married to Judy (Eisenberger) Burkhart, Willow Street; Susan K., married to James Musser, Bowmansville, Dale W., married to Jeannie (Mast) Burkhart, Narvon; Kathy J., married to Dean Weiler, Morgan-town; and Melissa A., married to Jeffrey Martin, Lititz; 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and his sisters-in-law, Ruth and Elsie Burkhart.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Fulmer and Eleanor Good, and brothers John, James and Warren Burkhart.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Bowmansville Menno-nite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl, with Pastors Larry Weber and Duane Ringler officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Burkholder, Allen M., 82, of New Holland, died Friday, March 6, 2015, at his residence after a long illness. He was the husband of Vera S. (Zimmerman) Burkholder, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Born in East Earl Township, he was a son of the late Henry and Anna (Martin) Burkholder. He was a retired farmer and a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Burkholder, Cheryl Dawn Weaver, 25, of Spencer, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 while giving birth to her son, Bentley Kade. Cheryl was born on November 30, 1989 in Quarryville, PA to Nelson and Melinda (Stelfox) Weaver. The Weaver family moved to WI in 1995. Cheryl was united in marriage to Jason Burkholder on May 7, 2011 in Angola, IN. A son, Braxton Wade, was born to them on September 18, 2013. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking for everyone and spending time with family and friends. She lived her life to the fullest and had a friendly personality that everyone enjoyed. Oh, how she will be missed! She was employed at her parents' business, Maranatha Market.

Sept. 29, 1918 - April 9, 2015

BREMEN - Clara Lucille Burkholder, 96, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9.

She was the daughter of Henry and Lizzy (Yoder) Schmucker.

She was the wife of Edward J. Burkholder.

She is survived by a son, Oscar (Maude) Burkholder of Bremen; daughters Loretta (Eli) Yutzy of Bremen, Ina Marie (Jonas, deceased) Mullet of Nappanee and Elizabeth Jane (Pheanis) Wickey of Bremen; 36 grandchildren; and 192 great-grandchildren.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers; six sisters; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Clara loved poetry and wrote many poems. She has a book of poetry out and other books in the making.

Visitation will be all day, Saturday, April 11, at Pheanis Wickey's home, 2640 Birch Road, Rentown, Bremen. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 12, also at Pheanis Wickey's home.

Frances was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference) Leola, and was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, Frances is survived by six children, John Z., husband of Mabel (Hoover) Burkholder of Leola, Emma Z. Burkholder of Dorchester, WI, Anna Mary Burkholder at home, Ella Z. Burkholder at home, Ruth Z., wife of Lester Martin of Curtiss, WI, Ina Z., wife of Norman Hoover of Owen, WI; 21 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four children, Amos, Norman, Elam and Annetta Burkholder; six grandchildren; three brothers, Aaron, John and Elam Zimmerman; and seven sisters, Mary Weaver, Ella Sensenig, Lydia Weaver, Anna Zimmerman, Lizzie Martin, Minnie Shirk and Emma Hoover.

Burkholder, Franklin Lee, 80, of Harrisonburg, passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Burkholder was born March 15, 1935, in Dayton, and was a son of the late Herman F. and Annie (Good) Burkholder. Franklin was a longtime member of Peake Mennonite Church, where he served as Deacon for 28 years. He worked at Superior Concrete and retired from Ritchie's Agri Service. After retirement, he also worked for several other local businesses.

On May 29, 1965, he was united in marriage to Anna Lee (Ritchie) Burkholder, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Angela Goering and husband, Samuel, of Dayton and Sonia Knicely and husband, Willard, of Harrisonburg; nine grandchildren, Cynthia Gura and husband, Nick, Conrad, Kristen, and Erika Goering, Daryn, Mary, Deborah, Logan and Abigail Knicely; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Knicely; and four brothers, Daniel, Charles, William and Ralph Burkholder. He was the last surviving member of his family. What a blessing and a privilege to have been the family of such a godly, kind and loving man.

The funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Bank Mennonite Church with Nathan Horst, Jay Rohrer, Elam Heatwole, David Burkholder and James Helmuth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. at Bank Mennonite Church.

GOSHEN - Levi Burkholder, 95, died at home Wednesday afternoon, June 24.

He was born June 12, 1920, in Marshall County, to David O. and Amanda (Stutzman) Burkholder.

On Oct. 18, 1952, he married Anna "Leota" Eash at Griner Mennonite Church in Middlebury. She died in 2008.

He is survived by two sons, Wayne J. (Claris) Burkholder and Dean C. (Rosann) Burkholder, both of Goshen; three grandchildren, Charlotte (Phil) Gran of New Paris, Eric (Katie) Burkholder of Goshen and Ashley Stout of New Paris; three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Gavin and Justin Gran; three sisters, Malinda Miller of Carrier Mills, Ill., Lilly (Jonathan) Stoltzfus of Morgantown, Pa., and Iva (Daniel) Nisley of Partridge, Kan.; and a brother, David (Elva) Burkholder of Morgantown.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mabel Mast, Leona Kilmer, Tilly Haltman and Mary Belle Yoder, and brothers Paul, Walter and Richard Burkholder.

Levi was a member of Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church. He was a lifelong farmer.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the church, 13483 C.R. 38, Goshen, where there will be a 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28, funeral service. The Rev. Randall Reigsecker and the home ministry will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Goshen.

Burkholder, Lorelle Marian Hoover, 27, of Reinholds, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Lancaster to Chester and Lena Mae (Musser) Hoover and was the wife of Carl R. Burkholder Jr.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her 3-year-old son, Morgan Lars Burkholder, and 12 day old son, Nicholas Zane Burkholder; 3 siblings, Lucille Faye (Hoover) Yoder, Cleason Roy Hoover, Leann Marie (Hoover) Sensenig, and many nieces and nephews.

Burkholder, Mary M., 82, of New Holland, formerly of Ephrata, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late David M. and Etta P. (Myers) Burkholder.

She worked as a secretary from 1964-1985 at Burkholder Quarry in Martindale. For many years she worked as a kitchen volunteer at Water Street Rescue Mission, Lancaster. She was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Lancaster Conference.

Surviving is a sister, Clara M., married to Leon Z. Martin of Ephrata; two brothers, Eugene M., married to Betty Burkholder of Asheville, NC, and Melvin M., married to Elaine Burkholder of Neffsville; and a brother-in-law, Paul B. Good of Ephrata; along with many nieces and nephews, who will miss their Aunt Mary greatly.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Lloyd and David Burkholder; and two sisters, Anna Sensenig and Etta Good.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13 at 10 AM at the Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Road, Ephrata with ministers Harold B. Good, John J. Rutt, II, and Luke W. Interment will take place in the Conestoga Mennonite Cemetery.

Burkholder, Raymond M., 65, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born Wednesday, October 4, 1950 in New Holland, Lancaster County, PA. Raymond was a son of the late Levi H. and Fannie Martin Burkholder.

He was a member of the Oakville Mennonite Church, Newville. Raymond was a self-employed driver.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Edna S. Zimmerman Burkholder; two children, Michael R. Burkholder and his wife Renee of East Earl, and Christine F. Weiler and her husband Dale of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; six brothers, Amos M. Burkholder of Leola, Frank M. Burkholder of Dorchester, WI, Henry M. Burkholder of New Holland, Levi M. Burkholder of Orchard, IA, Mervin M. Burkholder of Newville, and Edwin M. Burkholder of Lititz; four sisters, Verna B. Nolt of Leola, Lizzie B. Hoover of Mifflinburg, Mattie B. Martin of Seneca Falls, NY, and Ellen B. Zimmerman of Elm, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin M. Burkholder.

Funeral services will be held at the Oakville Mennonite Church, Willis Road, Newville, PA 17241 on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Officiating will be Bishop Lester Martin, Minister Leon High, Minister Carson Musser, and Minister Edwin Reiff. Burial will occur in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Church.

Burkholder, Stephen H., 22, of Myerstown, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County on Thursday, July 30, 2015. He was born in Honey Brook, Chester County on October 18, 1992, a son of Aaron N. and Edith H. Huber Burkholder of Myerstown. Stephen was employed as an equipment operator for Manada Construction in Frystown and attended Mt. Aetna Bible Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by paternal grandmother, Annie W. Burkholder of Denver; maternal grandmother, Anna M. Huber of New Holland; brothers, Daryl Burkholder and wife Sharon of Myerstown; Andrew Burkholder and wife Maritta of Myerstown; sisters, Jeanette H. Rutt and husband Marlin of Lititz; Karen H. Witman and husband of Adam of Denver; Rosanne H. Hoover and husband Leonard of Bernville; Darlene H. Martin and husband Burnell of Newmanstown; Christine H. Martin and Darren of Womelsdorf; 21 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Noah Z. Burkholder and Lloyd K. Huber and a nephew.

Funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM in the Elm View Mennonite Church, 605 Elm St., Richland, PA. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. Burkholder, Walter Edwin, Jr.
July 23, 1947 - Feb. 1, 2015

NAPPANEE - Walter Edwin Burkholder Jr., 67, of Nappanee, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, in his residence.

He was born July 23, 1947, in Goshen to Walter Edwin Sr. and Edna M. (Slabaugh) Burkholder.

Mr. Burkholder married Eva Mae Kemp on Sept. 9, 1972, in Nappanee.

Mr. Burkholder is survived by his wife, Eva; daughters Marlene (Ernest) Slabaugh of Milford, Rhoda (Lloyd) McCoige of Lakeville, Sandra (Floyd) Mullet of Etna Green and Elaine (Garry) Miller of Leesburg; sons Aaron (Loretta) Burkholder, Brian (Neva) Burkholder and Michael (Elaine) Burkholder, all of Milford; 26 grandchildren; sister Rosa Burkholder of Bourbon; and brothers Lavern (Gertie) Burkholder of Garnett, Kan., Glen (Freida) Burkholder of Goshen, Wade (Miriam) Burkholder of Etna Green and Norman (Dora) Burkholder of Bourbon.

Family and friends may call all day Tuesday, Feb. 3, at David Lee Miller's home, 11464 N. 900 W. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Joseph Hochstetler's home, 9304 W. 1200 N.

Byler, Emily Christine, 22, of Pratt, KS died May 11, 2015 at Wichita, KS.

She was born December 4, 1992 at Barberton, Summit Co., OH to Michael Ray and Jayne Marie (Speigle) Byler. Michael was born August 16, 1962 and Jayne was born June 15, 1959.

Surviving are her parents, her partner, Elizabeth Hillegass, a sister, Kathryn Byler Juarez (Garry), and a brother, Justin Byler.

Memorial services were held May 16, 2015 at Pratt Presbyterian Church, Pratt, KS and May 19, 2015 at First Mennonite Church, Sugarcreek, OH with burial in Blough Mennonite Church Cemetery, Holsopple, PA.

Byler, Lois Garber
Feb. 12, 1927 - Oct. 15, 2015

NEW PARIS - Lois (Garber) Byler, 88, of New Paris, died at 2:28 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

She was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Low Point, Ill., to the late Joe and Frieda (Cordes) Garber.

She married Glen L. Byler on Aug. 4, 1946, in Metamora, Ill. He died April 20, 1999.

Surviving is a daughter, Tracy Ann Byler of New Paris.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, Linda Jean Byler; brother Arthur Garber; and sister Fae Steffen.

Lois was a homemaker and a member of College Mennonite Church.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church, 1900 S. Main St., Goshen. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at College Mennonite Church in Goshen.

Burial will be in Violett Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to College Mennonite Church Youth, Global Family Program of MCC or Purdue Extension Elkhart County Education Fund.

Byler, Lois Eileen Garber, 88, of New Paris, Elkhart Co., IN died October 15, 2015 at Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN. She was born February 12, 1927 at Low Point, IL to Joe and Frieda (Cordes) Garber. On August 4, 1946 at Metamora, IL she was married to Glen L. Byler, who died April 20, 1999.
