Canen, Chloe Arlouise
December 12, 1916 - April 3, 2021
Chloe Arlouise Canen, 104, of Wakarusa, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She was born December 12, 1916 in Elkhart County to Alpha and Grace (Blocher) Canen.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her parents and 5 siblings, Edna Schrock, Josephine BeMiller, Robert Canen, Edward Canen and Richard Canen.
Chloe graduate from Wakarusa High School in 1934 and received her Nursing degree from LaJunta in 1947. A year later she then started working at Elkhart General Hospital where she was in charge of a 54 bed ward and helped establish the recovery room and rehabilitation training program so the nurses didn’t have to train their aids. She retired from Elkhart General Hospital after 31 years of service. Her greatest love was being a nurse and helping others.
She enjoyed flower gardens, reading, and embroidery and was a world traveler. Chloe’s biggest joy was entertaining her family, nieces and nephews. It was a privilege to have neighbors, friends and family in her later years to always be available when she needed help and she greatly appreciated that. Chloe was lifetime member of Olive Mennonite Church and was actively involved in her younger years.
The family would like to thank Miller’s Merry Manor for their care of Chloe over the years and especially Kim Perry who was a wonderful friend and caregiver.
Visitation will be 1-2:30 pm Thursday, April 8, 2021 followed by a service at 2:30 pm all at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, IN 46573. Burial will follow at Olive (West) Cemetery.

Cender, Lowell Myron
October 28, 1932 - November 18, 2021
Lowell Myron Cender, 89, went home to be with Jesus, Thursday, November 18, 2021. He died after suffering from a stroke on November 7, 2021.
He was born in Dewey, Illinois October 28, 1932 to Emery & Mattie Cender.
After graduating from Hesston College, Kansas he did a term of service in Puerto Rico where he met his wife, Lydia Rodriguez. They married September 24,1955.
Lowell believed strangers were friends in the making. He was a faithful man, hard worker, with a servant's heart and gave his time volunteering to those less fortunate. He was a business owner in Puerto Rico prior to joining Cender Gas, Gibson City, Illinois where he worked at the family business. After moving to Indiana, he worked at Cecil’s Appliance in Bristol. In retirement he went on numerous mission trips constructing an orphanage & interpreting for the nurses in Guatemala & Ecuador, as well as volunteering various places with the Mennonite Disaster Service here in the U.S.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia Cender of Goshen; his daughters, Sharal (Bob Greene) Halcomb of Norfolk, Virginia, Charlene (Doug) Fike of Washington, DC; along with his grandchildren, Aimee Daniels of Edwards, Colorado and her son Logan; Aaron Halcomb of Kenbridge, Virginia and his son Nathaniel, Justin (Mindy) Fike of Loveland, Colorado and his daughters, Eleanor & Madelyn Fike, and Janelle (Josh) Hugel, of Arlington, Virginia.
He is also survived by five sisters, Marlene Kaufman, Mary Jo Oswald, Wilda Otto, Fern Cender and Vietta Nofziger and a brother, Milton Cender.
Along with his parents Emery & Mattie Cender he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon & Mahlon Cender and his great-grandson Ryan Daniels.
There will be no local service at this time. A celebration of Lowell’s life will be held next year in his beloved Puerto Rico.

Champ, Stanley "Joseph"
April 2, 1995 - February 27, 2021
Stanley "Joseph" Champ, 25, of Barnett, MO was killed in an automobile accident in Hunt Co. TX early Saturday morning, February 27, 2021, while traveling home to spend the weekend with his family. He was the son of S. Gerald and Janet S. (Hursh) Champ of Scurry, TX.
Since May of 2020, Joseph attended the Osage Mennonite Church ( Barnett, MO) and was a member of the Grays Prairie Mennonite Church (Scurry, TX).
After completing 10th grade at the Grays Prairie Mennonite School, Joseph worked for Porter Bluff Construction for 6 years before moving out of state, first to PA for 2 years, then to MO, to pursue his dream of learning the mechanic trade.
Besides his parents, Joseph is survived by his paternal grandparents, Stanley E. and Mary Alice (Erb) Champ of Hegins, PA and his maternal grandfather, Lester M. Hursh of Ephrata, PA and 5 siblings: Elva Rose, wife of Anthony Seibel of Bridgeton, NH; Owen, at home; Lydia of Pittsgrove, NJ; Melody and Harmony, both at home.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Arlene M. (Sensenig) Hursh.
At the ate of 22, God graciously brought Joseph through 2 brain surgeries. His life was a radiant testimony of God's love and mercy. He enjoyed serving others unselfishly and made friends easily. He will be greatly missed by many friends and relatives.
A visitation will be held at the Grays Prairie Mennonite Church on Wednesday, March 3, from 2-4 and 6-8pm, with the funeral service at 10:00 am on Thursday, followed by a burial in the adjoining cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
Charles, John Heller
September 5, 1933 - August 30, 2021
John Heller Charles, 87, formerly of Millersville, passed peacefully on Monday August 30, 2021 at Calvary Homes, Lancaster. He was a son of Abram B. and Anna H. Charles, born September 5, 1933. He was the husband of E. Blanche Mummau Charles and they were married for 62 years.
John was a life-long farmer in Millersville and in later years he worked part-time for High Steel as an Escort Truck driver then for the Manheim Auto Auction until February 2019.
He was a member of Mellinger Mennonite Church where he enjoyed attending church services along with the Circle of Love Sunday School class. John was an avid hunter, especially turkey, and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Juniata County.
In addition to Blanche, John is survived by three children; Steven, Sr., husband of Bonita, Sheryl, wife of Michael Doerr, and Scott, husband of Kelly. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Steven Charles, Jr., husband of Missy, Justin Sangrey, fiancé of Shannon, Jeffrey Charles, husband of Jennifer, Danielle Doerr, Ryan Doerr, Trevor Charles, Lucas Charles, and Cecily Charles. Six great-grandchildren; Bailee, Ian, Tyler, Christian, Hadley, and Jace. John was predeceased by four siblings; Mary, Elizabeth, Roy, and Abram.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Saturday September 4, 2021 at Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Hwy. E., Lancaster. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday September 5, 2021 at the church with interment immediately following the service at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetary. Meal and visitation with the family will follow interment.
Charles, Mahlon L.
June 16, 1941 - December 29, 2021
Mahlon L. Charles, 80, of Marietta, PA, formerly of the Landis Valley area, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manheim Twp., he was the son of the late C. Earl and Anna Mary Landis Charles. He was the husband of Hazel Garber Charles for 59 years on October 20.
Mahlon loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a committed member of East Hanover Mennonite Church in Hershey. Previously, he was an active member of Cedar Hill Mennonite Church in Elizabethtown. A 1959 graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School, Mahlon worked the family farm in East Donegal Twp. for 52 years.
His membership in Gideons International, Lancaster West Camp provided him the opportunity to spread the Gospel and reach souls for Christ by participating in Bible distribution. He also cared about his neighbors and was willing to help those in need. Along with his wife, Mahlon volunteered for many years during Landis Homes Fellowship Days. He enjoyed buying, restoring and driving antique cars. Most of all, Mahlon loved all children, especially his own children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Kevin G., husband of Sharon L. Reed Charles, of Elizabethtown, Janelle C., wife of Phil Herschberger, of Quarryville, and Dwight G., husband of Lynette Z. Martin Charles, of Elizabethtown; ten grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a spiritual-son, Joey, husband of Mary Muniz, of Elizabethtown and their four sons; two sisters, Alta Ruth Sensenig of Lititz and Esther, wife of Martin Wenrich, of Leola; two brothers-in-law, Norman Sauder of Manheim and Ken Weaver of Leola; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Charles of Marietta. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Myron Charles; and five siblings, Martha Sauder, Paul Charles, Anna Mary Charles, Doris Weaver, and an infant sister, Sarah Charles.
A funeral service will be held on Monday morning, January 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Bossler Mennonite Church, 2021 Bossler Road, Elizabethtown, PA. The family will receive guests during a viewing at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2-5:00 PM and on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Christner, Susan I. Martin
May 30, 1953 - March 8, 2021
Susan I. Christner, 67, of Lowpoint, IL passed away at 6:45 pm on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Unity Point Health-Proctor in Peoria, IL. She was born on May 30, 1953 in Pekin, IL to Orva and Verna (Kennell) Martin. She married Michael W. Christner on September 7, 1985 in Roanoke, IL.
Surviving are her husband, Michael of Lowpoint; sons, Lyndon Christner, Ernie Christner, Matthew Christner, and Christopher Christner all of Lowpoint; sisters, Donna (Leonard) Ulrich of Metamora, Loretta Ulrich of Washburn, and Marilyn Davis of Cazenovia; brothers, John (Ellen) Martin of Tampico, IL and Delmar (Ruthie) Martin of Delavan; sister-in-law, Colleen Martin of Delavan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronald Martin, sister Carol Martin, brother-in-law Karuna Davis, and one niece.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at North Linn Amish Mennonite Church in Roanoke with church ministers officiating. Burial will be in Stewart Harmony Cemetery in Metamora.
Chupp, Esther May Yutzy
January 16, 1932 - July 27, 2021
Esther May (Yutzy) Chupp, 89, of Bristol, suffered from numerous health problems in her last several months and later passed away peacefully at 8:11am on Tuesday July 27, at her home in Bristol, Indiana. She was born on January 16, 1932 in Arthur, IL, to Simon F. and Fannie M. (Stutzman) Yutzy. On November 20, 1951 in Arthur, IL she married Joas J. Chupp in Arthur IL; he passed away June 15, 2014.
Survivors are a daughter, Naomi (Robbie) Royal of Bristol; three sons, Larry J. (Dot) Chupp of Shipshewana, Anthony Wayne (Coretta) Chupp of Middlebury, Danny Lee (Leah) Chupp of Jones, MI; Ten grandchildren: Tabitha, Rachel, Andrew, Jonathan, Ethan, Alaina, Kirsten, Daniel, Laurel and Jana. Seven great grandchildren: Chester, Willow, Shelby, Jolynn, Carina, Judah, Camden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings and her husband, Joas J. Chupp and two sons, Mark and Eldon Chupp.
Esther was a very private person and she enjoyed rug weaving, gardening, writing, watching birds and caring for farm animals. Esther dearly loved her descendants and was able to spend time in her last days voicing her affection for them. She looked forward to being re-united with those who passed before her. She was a member of Townline Mennonite Church, 2165 S. 1000 W. Shipshewana.
A private family service will be conducted by Pastor Dean Yoder and burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana. Memorials may be given to The Arc of LaGrange County.
Chupp, Lucile June Hoover
May 9, 1933 - February 23, 2021
Lucile June (Hoover) Chupp, 87, of Mishawaka, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at home, surrounded by her daughters.
She was born May 9, 1933 in Goshen to John Maynard and Mandella (Bachtel) Hoover.
On September 2, 1956, she married Menno L. Chupp at Salem Mennonite Church in New Paris.
She is survived by her children Ronald (Lori) Chupp of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Kenneth (Sandy) Chupp of Warsaw, Indiana; James (Susan) Chupp of Caddo Mills, Texas; David (Heidi) Chupp of Bedford, Texas; Doug (Cindy) Chupp of Millersburg, Indiana; Brenda (Paul) Bertha of Mishawaka, Indiana and Teresa Chupp of Wills Point, Texas; her sixteen grandchildren, Randi Chupp, Andrew Chupp, Karen (Tim) Courliss, Kevin (Jessica) Chupp, Kelli Chupp, Hannah (Hannah) Chupp, Peter (Ariel) Chupp, Bethany (Trent) Lockhart, Elise (Ben) George, Ariel (Taylor) Wogoman, Cally (Tyler) Erb, Rachael Hall, Janae Hall, Nicholas Johnson, Gabrielle Bertha and Devlin Bertha; her twelve great-grandchildren, Vivienna, Briella and Julietta Courliss; Junia Chupp; Elend Chupp; Carsten, Abbigail and Arthur Lockhart, Levi George, Emma Wogoman, Teegan Erb and Michael Howard; a brother, John Hoover of Glen Flora, Wisconsin; and a sister, Ruth (Dale) Patton of New Paris.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lowell, Norman and Donald Hoover; three sisters, Edith Johns, Miriam Bontreger and Arlene Hershberger; and daughter-in-law Diane Chupp.
Lucile held a number of jobs over the years, including nursing homes, a donut shop and grocery stores.
Lucile’s heart to care for others was visible in a variety of ways. She raised seven children, worked as a nurse’s aide and babysat for dozens of children (including numerous grandchildren). She cheered for her children in countless wrestling matches, football games, track and cross-country meets, plays, concerts and marching band performances, and she continued to be a quiet yet fierce advocate for each child as they grew into adulthood.
Lucile displayed a quiet determination that served her well during busy parenting years as well as later in life, when she did not allow a wheelchair to hinder her activity in her garden or flowerbeds (which she tended and enjoyed) or the kitchen (where her generous and loving heart was often expressed through food).
Lucile’s love for Jesus and faith in Him ran deep over the course of many years. She was a committed member of several church fellowships, including Benton Mennonite Church, Zion Chapel and Voice Ministries.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 2–6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen, and from 2–3 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, Goshen. A service celebrating Lucile’s life will follow at 3 p.m. at the same location. Pastor Ken Chupp will officiate.
Interment will follow in Yellow Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery in Goshen.

Clugston, Warren E.
December 31, 1934 - December 12, 2021
Warren E. Clugston, 86, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Sunday, December 12th, at the Maugansville Mennonite Home, Hagerstown, MD.
Warren was born in East Hempfield Twp., Lancaster Co, Pa on December 31, 1934, a son of the late Mary K. (Ebersole) and Max W. Clugston. He was the widower of Lois J. (Hertzler) Clugston, whom he married on January 14, 1956. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2020.
Warren was a founding member and Pastor of the Mountain View Mennonite Church in McConnellsburg, PA for over forty years. He was also involved with multiple John Deere farm equipment dealerships throughout the area. Warren also was very active in SLM Ministries in Haiti for many years.
He is survived by his daughters Donna (wife of Gerald) Histand, of Rome, PA, Diane (wife of John) Histand, of Rome, PA, Maxine (wife of Lawrence) Weaver, of Lahmansville, WV, Gail (wife of Robert) Weaver, of Maysville, WV, sons Keith (husband of Deloris) Clugston, of McConnellsburg, PA, Rene (husband of Jennifer) Clugston, of McConnellsburg, PA, Alan (husband of Doreene) Clugston, of McConnellsburg, PA, sisters Mary Grace Strite, of Chambersburg, PA, Anna Blanche Martin, of Chambersburg, PA, Betty (wife of Duane) Martin, of Mineola, TX, Maxine (wife of Kenneth) Oberholzer, of Chambersburg, PA, Janet Yoder, of Greencastle, PA, Marie (wife of Richard) Oberholzer, of Greencastle, PA, brother Dale (husband of Ethel) Clugston, of Shippensburg, PA and sister-in-law Audrey Clugston, of IL. He is also survived by thirty two grandchildren and fifty four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, LaRose Clugston, Marlita Histand, a brother Tom Clugston, an infant brother and sister, and three brother-in-laws Clarence Strite, Omar Martin and Arliss Yoder.
The family of Warren will be hosting a time of visitation on Sunday, December 19th, 2021 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6PM to 8 PM at the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, PA 17238.
Funeral services will be held at Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, PA, at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 20th, 2021 with Mountain View Mennonite Ministries officiating. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Mountain View Mennonite Church Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA following the services at the church.

Coffman, Margaret P. Mishler
October 29, 1926 - October 16, 2021
Margaret P. Coffman, 94, of Shipshewana, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, at her son David’s home in Carmel, IN.
She was born on October 29, 1926, in Shipshewana, IN to Homer J. and Lydia (Miller) Mishler. He father was the founder of Mishler Packing Company that her brother, Paul, later owned and operated.
Margaret lived most of her life in LaGrange/Noble counties as a farmer’s wife. She also worked at Lambright Hatchery in the office and at Yoder Department Store in Shipshewana.
She loved her church (Shore Church) and the people in it. She was active in the sewing circle, taught Sunday school, bible school, she loved singing and sang in groups and the choir.
Margaret married Donald V. Coffman on September 1, 1945, in Shipshewana, IN.
Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gail Hirschy of Blacksburg, SC, Carolyn and Kevin Miller of Newton, KS; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Donna Coffman of Carmel, IN and Paul and Shelly Coffman of LaGrange, IN; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Haarer of Shipshewana; and a brother, Paul Mishler of Shipshewana, IN.
Margaret’s husband, Donald; an infant son, Donald Eugene; her parents; a brother, Dorsa J. Mishler; two sister, Ruth Miller and Ruby Hostetler, preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Shore Church, 7285 W – 100 N, Shipshewana, IN.
A Graveside Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana. The Rev. Carl Horner will officiate the services.
A viewing will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Shore Church from 5-7 p.m.

Conrad, Hettie Conrad
November 19, 1928 - July 21, 2021
Hettie Conrad died Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at her Schowalter Villa home, Hesston, Kansas at the age of 92. She was born November 19, 1928, in Smithville, OH, the daughter of Sadie (Smith) and Jacob Conrad. She received a teaching certificate from Goshen (IN) College in 1949, then married Willard Conrad, a Goshen graduate from Wayland, Iowa, that August. The two of them moved to Hesston, Kansas, where Willard joined the Hesston College faculty.
For more than two decades, the two lived in the Hesston community, with Willard teaching and Hettie taking primary responsibility for raising their five children. In 1971, Willard made a career change. He spent the next 25 years in Mennonite pastorates in Indiana, Illinois, and Colorado. Hettie thrived in the role of pastor’s wife. She and Willard made many pastoral visits together over the years, and Hettie hosted many gatherings in their home. During Willard’s last pastoral assignment and for several years thereafter, the couple made their home in Colorado Springs. Hettie loved being near the mountains and made many dear friends during those years in Colorado.
In the year 2000, Willard and Hettie returned to Hesston after nearly 30 years of absence, to retire at Schowalter Villa. There, Hettie enjoyed various volunteer activities, foremost among them quilting. She spent many hours, as long as her health permitted, quilting in an alcove near the main entrance to the Villa, always with a friendly greeting to visitors and fellow residents as they came and went. Willard died at the Villa in 2013.
Hettie’s survivors include a brother, Carl Conrad, of Smithville, OH, and a sister, Annabelle Hughes, of Cleveland, OH. Her children are Cathy Conrad, of Albuquerque, NM; Daniel and wife Mary Ann, of Albuquerque, NM; Stephen and wife Sandy, of Goessel, KS; Sarah and husband Timothy Yoder, of Alamosa, CO; and Nancy and husband Ronald Schroeder, of Moundridge, KS. In addition, Hettie has 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was much loved and will be warmly remembered by all of them, as well as many friends she made over all the years of her life.

Crawford, Betty Jean Lam
May 25, 1936 - May 24, 2021
Betty Jean Lam Crawford, 84, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at the home of her daughter, where she had lived since the passing of her husband.
Mrs. Crawford was born May 25, 1936, in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Virgie Lam. She worked with her husband as a poultry farmer and helped with his BBQ chicken, which helped raise money for softball leagues and community events. She was a member of Gospel Hill Mennonite Church.
On Oct. 24, 1953, she married George Roland Crawford, who preceded her in death Jan. 6, 2018.
Surviving are her children, Sandy Crawford Bowman and husband, Jack, of Harrisonburg and George Michael Crawford and companion, Sandra Joseph, of Rawley Springs; brother, John W. “Johnny” Mason and wife, Rita, of Mount Sidney; grandchildren, John Allen Bowman and wife, Mendy, Jodi Cyzick and husband, Andy, Travis Bowman and wife, Ashley, Miranda Bowman Weaver and husband, Keith, Jerad Bowman and wife, Kate, and Lucas Crawford and companion, Christy Lowrey; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother and husband, Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by a brother, Basil Lam.
Pastor Dan Horning will conduct a memorial service Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at Gospel Hill Mennonite Church. Burial will be held privately.
The casket will remain closed.

Cripe, Carolyn Louise Cobb

Carolyn Louise Cripe, 84, of Syracuse, Indiana, formerly of Goshen, passed away on August 25, 2021, with her family gathered around her.
She was born in New Paris, Indiana, on November 25, 1936, to Charles and Pearl (Vandermaas) Cobb. At New Paris High School, Carolyn enjoyed playing drums in the band. After graduation, she worked at the Elkhart County Court House in the Health Department from 1954-1959.
Carolyn married Richard Cripe on Easter Sunday, March 29, 1959 and lived in Goshen while they raised their two children, Douglas and Jeannine. She was a member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church and helped with Vacation Bible School, funeral dinners, among other groups and activities. She also enjoyed singing solos and in small groups for church and other community events. As a volunteer, Carolyn helped with Red Cross blood drives and fundraisers for the Goshen High School band.
For many years, she entertained in her home Turtle Top dealers visiting from out of town, for Richard considered her a “silent partner” in the company. Carolyn was an excellent cook and was especially known for her delicious pies.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Charles Cobb, Eugene Cobb, James Cobb, and her sister Eleanor Morehouse.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Richard D. Cripe; two children, Douglas Cripe of Elkhart, and Jeannine (Phillip) Tom of Middlebury; four grandchildren, Shane (fiancé, Kerry Maloney) Tom of Elkhart, Jonathan Cripe of Washington DC, Cassie (Jonathan) Clevenger of Tampa, Florida, and Rebekah (Brian) O’Donnel of O’Fallon, Illinois; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Louise Clevenger; and she was a “favorite aunt” to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will occur from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 also at the funeral home. Rev. Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau , Eighth Street Mennonite Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.

Culp, Inez Oberholzer
February 17, 1922 - June 13, 2021
Inez O. Culp, 99, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Goshen Hospital.
She was born February 17, 1922 in Leitersburg, Maryland to Aaron and Vallie (Barkdoll) Oberholzer.
On June 16,1945 she married Lester I. Culp in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. He died February 7, 2016.
Survivors include a daughter, Joetta (Kenneth) Strickler of Sun City West, Arizona; a son, Charles (Mary) Culp of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rachael Horst of Chambersburg, Maryland.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Culp; two sisters, Josephine Grove and Vada Henesy and two brothers, Wilmer and Raymond Oberholzer.
Mrs. Culp was a charter member of Waterford Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be Friday, June 18, 2021 from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Velma Swartz will officiate.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.

Denlinger, Jay "Nelson"

Jay "Nelson" Denlinger, age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
Nelson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bette (Umble) Denlinger; daughter Deanne Denlinger, son Douglas Denlinger, daughter Deborah (Denlinger) Spurgin (Jesse); grandchildren Kaiah Gray (John), Riley DeCamp (David), Cassidy Spurgin, Jacob Denlinger, and Abby Denlinger; great grandchildren Colton DeCamp, Emery DeCamp, and Fallon Gray; brothers Tom Denlinger (Gloria) and Mark Denlinger (Kathy) who reside in Pennsylvania. He lived in Ronks, Pennsylvania from 1963-1978 with Bette and his three children and moved to Mesa in 1979.
He was born in Farmersville, PA, son of the late Mark E. and Ruth (Herr) Denlinger. He graduated from Pequea Valley High School in 1959 as a member of the National Honor Society. Nelson completed many electrical, heating and refrigeration courses and certifications.
Nelson was raised in a Mennonite/Christian family and was a member of the Paradise Mennonite Church. As an adult attended Grace Evangelical Church for many years and then helped to plant Faith Evangelical Church in Lancaster, PA. He was the first official Board President at Faith EC and helped to build the church and install wiring, heating and A/C. He attended with his wife Bette and 3 children until the family moved to Arizona.
Nelson was gifted with ability to repair anything broken and was a skilled electrician, HVAC, and refrigeration technician; beginning his work life as part Owner/Operator of Denlinger Electric, a family-owned business in PA. He then continued work in these fields in Arizona at Motorola, Litton Industries, and Chandler Regional Hospital. He was very revered and well liked, always the go-to person for answers to complex problems at each employer.
Nelson suffered a severe trauma injury in 1998 which forced an early retirement. He defied the odds by surviving this accident for an additional 23 years despite many lasting side effects.
During those years he remained committed to his family and his church. Nelson and his wife Bette established AZ chapters of Joni Erickson Tada People Power Ministries at Bethany Community Church and two oral head and neck cancer support groups (SPOHNC).
He also enjoyed the hobbies of working on cars, taking pictures at all family events, antiques and collectibles and loved traveling. His greatest joy was watching the family grow as new babies arrived and attending and participating in the activities of his children, grand and great children.
Nelson was an active and beloved member of the Bethany Community Church Sunday school class for many years and the Share group (now Sun Valley).
Most importantly, he is remembered by his family as a fiercely loyal and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was so loved by all and remembered as a quiet, patient, and loving man; who loved God. He will be missed.
A memorial service for Nelson will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 South Dobson Road, Mesa, AZ 85202.

Sara Detweiler, 81, of Goshen, formerly of Fairview, Michigan, died Monday, October 18, 2021, at her home after more than five years battling cancer.
She was born April 13, 1940 in Belleville, Pennsylvania to Irvin and Lena (Zook) Roth.
On August 10, 1963 she married Reuel Detweiler in Allensville, Pennsylvania.
He survives along with three sons, Craig (Tonya), Lavon (Dawn) and Todd (Katelynn), all of Goshen; eight grandchildren, Alex, Lauren, William (Tessa), Jackson, Nathan, Jenna, Harrison and Sawyer; a sister, Marjorie Yoder of Middlebury; and two sisters-in-law, Joy and Shirley Roth.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Jay Roth; a brother-in-law, Ray Yoder; and a sister-in-law, Elsie Roth.
Mrs. Detweiler was a former member of Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan and current member of Clinton Frame Church, Goshen. She worked as a social services director for more than 20 years in long term care facilities.
Sara was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and wintering in Florida for many years with her husband, Reuel.
According to her wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Private family services have been held. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Clinton Frame Church, Goshen.

Jerry Lee Diener, 74, of Harrisonburg, Virginia died September 20, 2021, at Sentara RMH with siblings at his side and his favorite gospel music filling the room. He was born November 7, 1946, in Tuscola, Illinois, the son of the late Henry and Mary Beachey Diener.
Jerry is survived by his siblings, Ann (Paul) Yoder and Eugene (Gloria) Diener of Harrisonburg, Ron (Marilyn Lehman) Diener of Staunton, Verna Townsend of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Mary (James) Sutter of Ionia, Michigan. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews (Steve, Carlon, Ana Lisa, Chris, Gigi, Obie, Brian, Jared, Andrew, Joel, Rachel & Aaron) and by his great nieces and great nephews (Jai, Lenore, Jericho, Judah, Teo, Cyrus, Frances, Simone, Isaiah, Carlee, Camden, Marcus & Levi).
Jerry’s siblings describe him as the hub around which their family revolved for his first 17 years of life, a nonverbal magnet who drew others to him by the energy of his presence. His vulnerability inspired a strong sense of empathy and resilience in his siblings. Jerry had a strong gaze and a quick reflex. He enjoyed Sunday afternoon drives with his siblings, Dairy Queen ice cream cones, ripe bananas, and outdoor walks.
For the past 20 years, Jerry was a resident of the Wright House of Pleasant View Homes where he made strong connections with caregivers and residents. The family conveys deep gratitude to those who cared for him with compassion and dedication.
A private burial will be held at Duck Run Cemetery on Friday with Chaplain David Gullman officiating. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 23 at the pavilion at Duck Run Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Covid protocol will be observed.

Hagerstown, MD - Esther (Lehman) Diller, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Sunday, April 25, 2021, at her home.
Born Saturday, April 14, 1934 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. Lehman, Sr. and the late Ada Grace (Martin) Lehman.
Esther was a member of Millers Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her husband, Nathan Diller; children, Arnold Diller and wife Esther of New Bethlehem, PA, Ray Diller and wife Carolyn of Smithsburg, MD, Elaine Eshleman and husband Daniel of Waynesboro, PA, Ellen Martin of Waynesboro, PA and Ada Grace Hostetter and husband James of Washington CH, OH; 32 grandchildren; 110 great-grandchildren; siblings, Grace Burkholder of Chambersburg, PA, Sarah Lehman of Chambersburg, PA, Ruth Miller of Hagerstown, MD, Naomi Martin of Flintstone, MD, Marcus Lehman of Mechanicsburg, PA, Miriam Patterson of Orrstown, PA, John Lehman of Chambersburg, PA, and Eunice Esch of Lititz, PA; and a foster sister, Sharon.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Aldus Lehman, Walter Lehman, Jr., and James Lehman; a son-in-law, Lavern Martin; and a great-granddaughter.

Myerstown - Larry R. Diller, 61, died suddenly on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
He was the husband of Wanita J. (Crider) Diller, to whom he would have been married 41 years on March 21, 2022.
Born in Hagerstown, MD on October 20, 1960, he was a son of Naomi (Martin) Martin, of Greencastle, and the late Jacob R. Diller.
Larry was a member of Womelsdorf Mennonite Church. He was owner of Lanita Specialized LLC, Mt. Aetna, where he drove truck. Larry was a lifetime member of the Leitersburg Volunteer Fire Company.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, son, Scott, husband of Leanna Diller, of Myerstown, and his daughters, Leanne, wife of Virgil Weaver, of Reading, and Lori, wife of Gordon Weaver, of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Aaron, Jacob, and Natalie Diller, Judson, Shania, Nicole, Carly, and Dominic Weaver, and Lacey, Sawyer, Cooper, and Annie Weaver; sisters, Lucille, wife of David Little, of Hagerstown, MD, Lorraine, wife of Richard Ebersole, of Newmanstown, Ella Mae, wife of Steve Martin, of Myerstown; brother, Lamar, husband of Lisa Diller, of Chambersburg; sister-in-law, Joyce, wife of Tom Varner, of Shippensburg; 11 nieces; and 7 nephews. Richard Eagan, age 58 of Nappanee, IN, passed away Monday morning, on November 29, 2021 at his residence after a battle with brain cancer. Mr. Eagan was born on January 5, 1963 in Batesville, AR to Vernon and Vina (Huskey) Eagan and was a graduate of Gavit High School in Hammond, IN. On September 17, 1988 Richard married Renée Zerkel in Hammond, IN.
Richard loved playing the harmonica and listening to the blues. He also enjoyed tending his garden and feeding the neighborhood squirrels.
Mr. Eagan is survived by his four children: Harlan (Melissa) Eagan of Kansas City, MO, Jasmine (Eduardo) Salcedo of Austin, TX, Autumn Eagan of Indianapolis, IN, and Allison Eagan of Goshen, IN and his 7 siblings: Kathy (Ken) Simmers, Steve (Pam) Eagan, Waymon (Debi) Eagan, Leslie (Nora) Eagan, Patricia (Randy) Speroff, Kevin (Nicole) Eagan, and Lowell (Jane) Eagan.
Mr. Eagan was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Randall Eagan.

Lydia Mae Eash, 75, of Shipshewana, died at 9:50 pm on Wednesday, July 28, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on December 19, 1945 in Newton County, IN to Ammon and Barbara (Hochstetler) Yoder. On October 15, 1970 in Goshen she married Orla O. Eash, he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are two sons, Galen (Ida Sue) Eash of Middlebury, Marlin (Doris) Eash of Shipshewana; two daughters, Doretta (Larry) Miller of Goshen, Carolyn (Elmer Jr.) Yoder of Millersburg; daughter-in-law, Treva (Myron) Miller of Goshen; 37 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elizabeth Stauffer of Sterling, IL, Katie Schlabach of Burr Oak, MI, Mary Esther (Marvin) Borkholder of Colon, MI, Amanda (Edward Ray) Schwartz of Burr Oak, MI; two brothers, William Ray (Gladys) Yoder of Shipshewana, Richard Lee (Mary Esther) Yoder of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Eash; a grandson; a great-grandson; two brothers-in-law, Harley Stauffer and Harvey Schlabach.
Lydia Mae was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Friday, July 30, and all day Saturday, July 31, at the family's residence, 3480 N. 675 W., Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Sunday, August 1, also at the family's residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Marvin Bontrager and the home ministers. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Clarence B. Eberly, 85, of Dalton, peacefully departed his earthly home to enter eternal rest on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 with family by his side.
He was born on October 15, 1936 near Orrville to the late Clayton and Carrie (Burkhart) Eberly and on March 28, 1959 he married Luella (Neuenschwander) Eberly, who survives. They enjoyed 62 years together. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized. He was called to the office of deacon in 1981 and was a faithful member of the County-Line Mennonite Church at the time of his death.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 sons, Roger (Joanne) of Dalton, Ralph (Elaine) of Leetonia, Joseph (Diane) of Apple Creek, and Michael (Kristina) of Apple Creek; 2 daughters, Marcia Eberly of Dalton, and Jenny (Michael) Good of Dalton; 35 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Eberly of Pennsylvania; and a sister, Wilma (Eberly) Steiner of Missouri.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Wain, Lloyd, Homer, Earl, John, and Glenn; sisters, Edna, Mildred, Dorothy, and Ethel; and one grandson, Darrick Eberly.

Glenn B. Eberly, of Dalton, son of the late Clayton and Carrie (Burckhart) Eberly, was born September 26, 1941 near Orrville, OH and departed this life September 29, 2021, age 80 years and 3 days.
He accepted Christ and was baptized in his youth and was a faithful member at Bethel Mennonite Church near Orrville, OH at the time of his death.
On November 24, 1962, he was united in marriage to Emma E. Horst, who survives.
Also surviving are 4 sons and 3 daughters and son-in-law, Timothy Kuepfer (Gloria) of Keota, OK, Cynthia (Mrs. Matthew Petersheim) of Townville, PA, Kenneth (Carolyn) Eberly of Dalton, OH, Miriam (Mrs. Dennis Sensenig) of Mio, MI, Mahlon (Becky) Eberly of Moberly, MO, James (Kathy) Eberly of Pleasant Valley, VA, Matthew (Joanna) Eberly of Edina, OH, Margaret (Mrs. Sherman Amstutz) of Apple Creek, OH and Ray and Betty Fisher family of Townville, PA, who have been included as part of our family for over 25 years; 76 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Of his 13 siblings, a sister, Wilma Steiner of Edina, MO; and 2 brothers, Clarence (Louella) Eberly of Dalton, OH and Ray (Carol) Eberly of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA still survive.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Juaretta Kuepfer; 3 grandchildren, Amy Kuepfer, Brent and Sharla Eberly; and a great grandchild, Jarrell Petersheim.

Ebersole, Jerry L.
February 14, 1949 - January 18, 2021
Jerry L. Ebersole, 71, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 18, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family following a cancer journey. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Abner and Emma Ginder Ebersole and step son of the late Anna Mae Ebersole. Married on November 24, 1972, he was the faithful husband of Melba J. Augsburger Ebersole for 47 years.
Jerry faithfully served at Erb Mennonite Church where he was a member. He graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 1967. He worked in the same warehouse in the Conewago Business Park outside of Elizabethtown for 48 years, but for various employers. He retired in March 2020 from Crowe Transportation.
Jerry enjoyed collecting and using vintage 2-cylinder John Deere tractors in the garden and on his small farm. Spending time at a cabin with family was always a highlight for him. Above all of those things though, he loved his family and took an interest in the lives of others. He loved laughing with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Lindell J., wife of Wilmer E. Gehman, of Bowmansville, Dwilyn L., husband of Janelle M. Martin Ebersole, of Manheim, Daryl L., husband of Alisha N. Sangrey Ebersole, of Manheim, and Lanae J., wife of Laren D. Weaver, of Ephrata; 12 grandchildren; a step sister, Brenda, wife of Ken Fisher, of Leola; and a sister-in-law, Jean, wife of George Hurst, of Lititz. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brayden Ebersole, and a brother, M. Dean Ebersole.
The family will receive guests at Erb Mennonite Church, 567 West Lexington Road, Lititz, PA on Sunday afternoon, January 24, from 2-5:00 PM. There will be no public viewing. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the same location on Monday afternoon, January 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Masks are encouraged for both events. Please omit flowers. William S. Eby, 89, of Fairmount Homes, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Jonas R. and Esther Sollenberger Eby. He was the husband of Marian E. (Dillman) Eby and celebrated 44 years of marriage in July.
William was raised on a farm before coming to Lancaster County to work for Weaver Poultry. He also worked part-time at Yoder's store. He was a member of Metzler Mennonite Church, where he was a past Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed reading, especially the newspaper and his Bible. He also enjoyed the outdoors by gardening and working in his yard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a brother, Henry married to Miriam Eby, Hagerstown, MD; a sister, Susan married to Mahlon Martin, Greencastle. He was preceded in death by: 2 infant brothers; his brother, Jonas Eby; his 2 sisters, Ethel Eby and Esther Martin.
Funeral services will be held from Metzler Mennonite Church 515 W. Metzler Rd., Ephrata, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11 AM with interment following in the adjacent cemetery. Ehret, Elta Louise Yoder
October 21, 1921 - September 2, 2021
Elta Louise Ehret, 99 of Wakarusa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at her son Jerry’s home. She was born October 21, 1921 in Washington, IL to Walter E. and Matilda (Schertz) Yoder. She was married to Robert D. Ehret December 24, 1948 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Elta graduated from La Junta Mennonite School of Nursing in 1945. She then returned to Goshen College to finish her degree in music. After being accepted by the Mennonite Mission Board she was assigned to a hospital in Aibonito, Puerto Rico where she met Robert Ehret. Twelve years after establishing their business (Ehret Funeral Home) in San Juan they moved their family back to the farm in Elkhart County reuniting with extended family. Elta & Robert were co-founders of the Good Samaritan Foundation that continues to fund institutions supporting spiritual, physical, and emotional health through local Puerto Rican institutions for more than sixty years. Among other things Elta became an avid quilter and joined her sisters in donating some of their quilts to Mennonite relief sales. Elta was a longtime member of the Wakarusa Missionary Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ehret and siblings, Ruth Yoder, Harold Yoder, David Yoder, Paul Yoder, Mildred Yoder Troyer.

Funny, spunky and using her smart phone until the very end, she will be sorely missed.

February 29, 1948 - August 5, 2021
Ellen M. Eigsti, 73, of Goshen, died at 8:57 am on Thursday, August 5 at her residence, following a courageous 15-month battle with cancer. She was born on February 29, 1948, in Eugene, OR, to David and Nora (Baker) Hostetler. On June 25, 1971, in Sheridan, OR, she married James Eigsti, he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are two sons, Kendal Eigsti, Christopher Eigsti both of Goshen; two daughters, Karleen (Jonathan) Sommers, Kimberly (Jared) Hochstetler both of Goshen; four grandchildren, Alexis and Tyler Sommers, Rylee and Kennedy Hochstetler; sister, Lois (Larry) Hamilton of McMinnville, OR; two brothers, Derald (Melvena) Hostetler of Sheridan, OR, James Hostetler of Brownsville, OR; sister-in-law, Marlene (Merv) Stutzman of Albany, OR.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Hostetler Jr.
Ellen was a homemaker, bookkeeper, and a member of Living Hope Christian Fellowship. Ellen had served with Gospel Echoes since 1987. She and her family served as the Gospel Echoes Northwest Team touring the United States from 1987- 2001. In 2002 the family moved to Goshen and continued working for Gospel Echoes. Ellen loved her family and had a servant's heart.
Visitation will be from 2:30 - 4:30 pm and 5:30 - 7:30 pm on Monday, August 9 at Clinton Frame Church, 63846 CR 35, Goshen. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 10 also at Clinton Frame Church. Services will be conducted by Pastors Jason Miller, Josh Berkshire, and Robert Riegsecker. Nora Elswick, 87, of Middlebury, died at 2:39 pm, on Monday, October 25 at Goshen Health Hospital. She was born on September 12, 1934, in Hutchinson, KS, to Harry and Barbara (Miller) Troyer. On April 7, 1962, in Goshen, she married Euell D. Elswick, he died October 13, 2018.
Surviving are four sons, Greg (Adrian) Elswick of Goshen, Darin (Michele Lucchese) Elswick of Vandalia, MI, Jeremy (Betsy) Elswick of Goshen, Jason (Emily) Elswick of Medina, MN; 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lydia Yoder of Nappanee, Dora Graber of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant daughter, Kathy Lynn Elswick; four brothers, Howard Troyer, Jerry Troyer, Samuel Troyer, infant Moses Troyer; three sisters, Anna Mae Weaver, infant Mary Troyer, Fannie Weirich.
Nora was a member of First Mennonite Church in Middlebury and retired after working 15+ years at Jayco in the sewing department. She loved Jesus, her husband and her boys. She enjoyed cheering on her kids, grandkids and extended family in their sports. Nora also enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, and spending time gardening and watching her Begonias bloom each year. She would always make enough cucumbers for all who loved them. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and was an avid IU basketball and Tim Duncan fan. Her grandkids will always remember the amazing Thanksgiving and Sunday dinners at MawMaw and PawPaws all squeezed around the table for the amazing food and laughs.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 28 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Friday, October 29 at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Phil Yoder. Andrew Eversole, 66, of Goshen, died unexpectedly at 6:11 pm on Thursday, July 22 at his residence. He was born on August 29, 1954, in Perry County, KY, to John C. and Lewie (Eversole) Eversole. On July 6, 1974, in Belleville, PA, he married Joy Louise Yoder; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are daughter, Amy Joy Fox of Englewood, CO; son, Matthew Todd (Sarah Jo) Eversole of Lancaster, TX; four grandchildren, Alexandra Joy Fox, Elliott James Fox, Zebadiah Andrew Eversole, Ahava Joy Eversole; two sisters, Jackie Harold of Nicholson, KY, Evelyn Eversole of Columbus, IN; brother, Daniel (Suanne) Eversole of FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John C. Eversole, Jr., Samuel Eversole; six sisters, Cleda Mae Collins, Gracie Turner, Esther Eversole, Mary Reeves, Barshie Eversole, Ruth Pruett.
Andy worked as the tax director at CTS in Elkhart for 20 years retiring in 2010. After retirement he returned to work for the Indiana Department of Revenue and served one year of VS in Haiti as a teacher at Redeemer School. Andy was currently on the Board with Bibles for the World, serving in India, Nepal, and Bhutan. He was currently the associate pastor at Milford Chapel.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 and 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, July 26 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. Wilma Mabel Falb, 84, of Dalton, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at her home.
She was born near Kidron on January 11, 1937 to the late Albert and Edna (Steiner) Falb.
She is survived by siblings, Howard (Mildred) Falb of Dalton, Gladys (Vernon) Graber of Broadway VA and Delmar (Carol) Falb of Dalton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Irvin and Evelyn in infancy, Mary (Byard) Horst and Linford Falb.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 15, at 10:00 am at County Line Mennonite Church with the ministry of the Valley View Mennonite Church officiating. Katherine Farmwald, age 90, a long time resident of Nappanee, passed away at 7:01 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Paddock Springs Health Center in Warsaw, Indiana. She was born March 3, 1931 in Marshall County to Levi and Lizzie (Yoder) Farmwald. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Katherine enjoyed helping others, growing flowers and vegetables, singing, and playing harmonica at Paddock Springs Health Center.
Surviving are her brother, Owen Farmwald, Monticello, KY; sister, Rachel (Harvey) Miller, FL; sister-in-law, Polly Farmwald, Topeka, IN; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend Nancy Myers, South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leroy and Melvin Farmwald; and her sister, Martha Farmwald.

Darlene L. Fasick, 78, Dillsburg, [PA] formerly of Altoona, passed away Monday at the home of her son and family, where she had lived for the past year. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Pauline (Niswonger) and Sylvester Boggs, and soon became a sister to Robert Boggs.
She was a 1961 graduate of Altoona High School and studied nurse’s training at Harrisburg Hospital.
Darlene was employed for more than 35 years by Bell Telephone, now Verizon. She also worked at Ashcombe Farm and Greenhouses and Davis Country Living (Agway), both in Mechanicsburg.
She was a member of Slate Hill Mennonite Church.
Darlene was well known for her love of flowers and beautiful gardens. She enjoyed aerobic and country line dancing, needlework, and trying out all sorts of crafting. Darlene also loved animals and — above all — treasured time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her ex-husband of 27 years, Harry, of York Springs; their son, Michael; a daughter-in-law, Joy; and grandchildren: Matt, Ben and Ellie, all of Gardners, Pa.

Feeg, Helen Z. Martin
October 9, 1944 - March 28, 2021
Helen Z. (Martin) Feeg, 76, of North Heidelberg Township, Berks County, passed away peacefully after a three-week battle with leukemia, on Sunday, March 28, 2021, into the waiting arms of her Father, surrounded by her loving family in her residence. She was the loving wife of James A. Feeg and a daughter of the late Harvey W. and Mary Ann (Zimmerman) Martin.
She was born in Lancaster and was an active member of Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church, Ephrata, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Helen was a proud graduate of Reading Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1975. She was employed by Reading Hospital, working as a Registered Nurse for several years until she became a Home Health Care Nurse in 1991 until her retirement in 1998, caring for hundreds of individuals during her career.
Throughout her life, outside of nursing, Helen had a great passion for sewing. She had completed thousands of comforters which were sent around the world by Christian Aid Ministries.
In addition to her husband James, Helen is survived by her step children, Donna Fehr, Linda, wife of Ernest Gelsinger, Denise, wife of Anthony Brochu, Jr., and Dennis, husband of Mary Beth Feeg. She was the proud grandmother of Nathan and Joshua Fehr, Sonia Arnold, Kaitlin Kaczor, Benjamin Gelsinger, Karlene Keys, Kirsten Brochu, Megan and Joseph Feeg; and the great-grandmother of Nieva Arnold.
She is also survived by her siblings, Harvey Z., widower of Orpha (Musser) Martin, Lester, husband of Evelyn (Ramer) Martin, Titus, husband of Alma (Martin) Martin, Luke, husband of Mary (Rice) Martin, Ernest, husband of Louella (Brubacher) Martin, Irvin, husband of Thelma (Snyder) Martin, Anna Ruth (Martin), widow of Allen Burkholder, Nora Martin, Frances (Martin), wife of Paul Shirk, Arlene (Martin), wife of Elmer Burkholder, Grace (Martin), wife of Richard Snyder; sister-in-law, Mattie (Burkholder) Martin, widow of predeceased brother, Wilmer Martin; brother-in-law, Melvin Hoover, widower of predeceased sister, Mary Ella (Martin) Hoover; brother-in-law, Linford Snyder, husband of Audrey (Zimmerman) Snyder and widower of predeceased sister, Vera (Martin) Snyder; brother-in-law, Richard Feeg; and sister-in-law, Nancy Lynn Feeg; as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and their families.
Helen was also predeceased by her grandson, Zachary Gelsinger.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning, April 2, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church, 140 Pleasant Valley Road, Ephrata, PA. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m on Friday morning. Interment will conclude the services in Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Mary Ruth Felder, 92, of Shipshewana passed away at 2:53 pm on Thursday, January 7, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital with her daughters by her side. She was born on December 27, 1928 in Millersburg to Orvil and Manila Bay (Price) Boyer. On June 28, 1946 in Elkhart she married Charles William "Bill" Felder, he died February 13, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheila Johnson and Theresa Felder both of Shipshewana; son, Steve Felder of Maui, HI; grandchildren, Billy, Angie, Mary, John, Jr., Cheryl, Jennifer and Heather; special grandson, Travis; great grandchildren, Corey, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Chandler, Austin, Zachary, Aaron, Michael, Justin, Matthew, Dominick, Abbigal and Carleen; great great grandchildren, Aaron and Lincoln; sister, Helen Jean Sunday of Odenton, MD; brother, S. Quithy Boyer of Bristol.

Amos Z. Fox, 43, of 155 Stone Quarry Rd., Leola, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the son of Weaver L. Fox and the late Alma Z. Fox.
He was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).
Amos enjoyed helping people at the Leola Produce Auction and loved meeting people.
Surviving in addition to his father are five brothers: Aaron husband of Barbara (Nolt) Fox, Shippensburg, John husband Anna (Zimmerman) Fox, Rochester, IN, David husband of Annetta (Martin) Fox, Stanley, NY, James husband of Anna (Zimmerman) Fox, Rushville, NY, Elvin husband of Almeda (Martin) Fox, Leola, two sisters: Ruth wife of Eli Zimmerman, Rochester, IN, Naomi wife of Ivan Newswanger, Morgantown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and three sisters: Wilma, Elizabeth, and Susan Z. Fox.

August 16, 1962 - December 10, 2021
Gerald W. Fox, 59, of West Cocalico Township, passed away on December 10, 2021 in his residence.
Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Floyd E. and Anna Mary (Weaver) Fox.
He was the loving husband of Tracey A. (Bainbridge) Fox, whom he married on February 25, 1989. They shared thirty-two loving years of marriage.
He was a graduate of Garden Spot High School. He was employed by C E Sauder and Sons for twenty-seven years and Gehman Feed Mill for fifteen years. He was a member of the Pastoral Staff for 16 years at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, where he had attended church from childhood. He also took part in the church as a junior youth advisor, youth advisor, and youth elder. In addition to encouraging youth, he was also very faithful in the prison ministry and enjoyed studying and teaching scriptures. He loved his church family very dearly and always had a pastoral heart for the church. He found great satisfaction in assisting people spiritually and theologically.
His hobbies include running, such as the Bird in Hand half marathon, the Ephrata Firecracker, and multiple 5Ks, caring for his small farm animals, playing basketball, watching Penn State Football and spending time with his family.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Alycia M. wife of Josiah D. Weaver, Jared M. husband of Danelle L. Fox, Adam B. husband of Tasha M. Fox, and Bryanna D. Fox., three grandchildren, his mother; Anna Mary (Weaver) Fox, five brothers, and five sisters.
He is predeceased by his father, Floyd E. Fox, and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Highway, Ephrata, PA 17522. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hinkletown Mennonite Church and also for one hour prior to the time of service on Friday. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery.

Roy D. Frank, Sr., 82, of Middlebury, passed away peacefully at his residence, while surrounded by his family at 1:35 am on Sunday, May 23, after an extended illness. He was born on August 3, 1938 in East Peoria, IL, to Benjamin and Hildred (Ames) Frank. On July 27, 1958 in Clinton Frame Church, he married Dorothy Miller, she survives.

Roy had worked in local area factories for most of his life and then became self-employed owning and operating Roy's Heating and Electric. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and could often be found mowing his yard and gardening. He had attended Clinton Frame Church.
The family will hold private funeral services on Saturday, May 29, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. Burial will be in Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Frey, Beulah "Bea" Hoover Landis
December 9, 1932 - February 21, 2021
Beulah "Bea" Landis Frey went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2021 following a lengthy illness at The Glen at Willow Valley. Born in Hinkletown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Alta (Martin) Hoover. She was the wife of the late Harry E. Landis, who passed in 1999, and the late Charles F. Frey, who passed in 2016.
Beulah graduated from Garden Spot High School and worked for Creutzburg Livestock Supplies, Inc. for many years. She was a woman of faith and was a long-time member of Neffsville Mennonite Church, and prior to her illness attended Manor Church. She was on the board of Friendship Community and was involved with Water Street Ministries and Lancaster County Farm Woman.
During the winters she would travel to Florida and loved to spend her summers along the river in Long Level. She would often take trips to the family cabin in Potter County. She loved going to the beach, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. The time she shared with family was cherished and she always enjoyed reading scriptures and quotes from the bible or a book to them. She enjoyed singing hymns. Beulah will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and caring nature and will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her sons; Michael Landis, husband of Beverly (Byers), and Tedford Landis of Friendship Homes, a daughter, Dorine Offenbaker, wife of Gerald, as well as two grandchildren; Jessica Stoppard, wife of Joshua, and Christina Giffing, wife of Dustin, and three great-grandchildren; Nyomi Stoppard, and Caroline and Preston Giffing. Also, she is survived by her sister, Joyce (Hoover) Peifer, wife of Marty Peifer.
Beulah is also survived by Charles's family; Linda (Frey) Barto, Philip Frey, husband of Pati (Going), Michael Frey, and Nicholas Frey, husband of Miriam (Martin), five grandchildren; Tammy Ream, wife of Scott, Lauren Frey, Jared Frey, Andrew Frey, and Molly Frey, as well as two-great-grandchildren; Morgan Hess, wife of Bryan, and Conner Ream, and a great-great-granddaughter Raegan Hess.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Willow Valley Chapel, 2400 Willow Street Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602. Guests will be received prior to the service starting at 2:00 PM. Burial will be private for immediate family only.

Erma J. Frey, 68, of Leola, passed away at her home on Monday, March 1, 2021 while surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Leon R. Frey. Born in Lebanon County, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Verna (Weaver) Horning.
Erma was a homemaker but had also worked for Diane's Deli, Shady Maple, and embroidered towels.
She was a member of Blue Ball Mennonite Church and prior to her illness, had been active with the Bareville Fire. Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons: Marlin married to Yvonne (Newswanger) Frey, Ephrata, Darryl married to Holly (Zook) Frey, Leola, and Curtis married to Michele (Newswanger) Frey, East Earl, seven grandchildren, and seven siblings: Lorraine married to Bennet Charleton, Dalton, OH, Leonard married to Elaine Horning, Denver, Alma married to Nelson Martin, Mount Joy, Thelma married to Weaver Nolt, Mohnton, Ruth Ann married to Roy Martin, New Holland, Nevin married to Elaine Horning, Denver, Kenneth married to Karen Horning, Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Joyce Martin and a brother, Wilmer Horning.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 6 at 10 a.m. at the Blue Ball Mennonite Church, 143 Ewell Rd., Blue Ball. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Freeman J. Frey, 72, of Goshen, died unexpectedly at 12:15 pm on Saturday, June 5 at Goshen Health Hospital. He was born on October 16, 1948, in LaGrange, to Joseph E. and Elizabeth (Bontrager) Frey. On September 2, 1971, in LaGrange, he married Wilma Lambright; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three daughters, LaWanda (Devon) Chupp of Shipshewana, Arloa (Eli) Marner of Abbeville, SC, Regina (Will) Mast of Greenwood, SC; four sons, Faron (Wanda) Frey, Ferlyn (Elsie) Frey, Ferman (Mary) Frey all of Goshen, Fenton (Amanda) Frey of Elkhart; 26 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lydia Mae (Clarence) Miller of Chouteau, OK, Mary (Freddie) Miller of Millersburg, Wilma Bontrager, Edna (Freeman) Slabach both of Shipshewana, Katie (Wilbur) Lehman of Topeka; three sisters-in-law, Lydia Frey of Goshen, LeEtta Frey, Barbara Frey both of Millersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; three brothers, Mervin, Daniel, and Richard Frey.
Freeman did horse shoeing and worked in the local RV factories. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 6 and after 10:00 am on Monday, June 7 at the Ferman Frey residence, 14913 CR 28, Goshen. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Tuesday, June 8 also at the residence. Ida Mae Frey, 97, of Topeka, died at 3:50 pm on Wednesday, December 29, at her residence. She was born on July 27, 1924 in LaGrange County to Mahlon and Lizzie (Schrock) Hostetler. On October 25, 1945 in LaGrange County she married John William Frey, he died August 7, 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Lizzie Ellen (Wilbur) Wingard of Topeka; six sons, Kenneth (Joan) Frey of Goshen, Leonard (Erma) Frey of Shipshewana, Elvie (Clara) Frey of Shipshewana, Mahlon (Cathy) Frey of Topeka, Dan Frey of LaGrange, Maynard Frey of Goshen; 22 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson, seven step great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Orpha Miller of Arcola, IL, Lizzie Ann Lehman of Goshen, Leah Fern Hostetler of Shipshewana; brother, Lavern Hostetler of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five sisters, Anna Miller, Mary Etta Eash, Mabel Mast, Frieda Raber, infant Nina Hostetler; three brothers, Eldon, David and Daniel Hostetler; a grandson, Christian Frey.
Ida Mae was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 11:00 am on Friday, December 31, at the Wilbur Wingard residence, 11207 N. 700 W. – 57 Topeka. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, January 1, at the same residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Mark Kramer and the home ministers. Frey, Jay Wilbur
October 6, 1926 - July 17, 2021
Jay Wilbur Frey, 94, went home to be with the Lord with his family by his side on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at his daughter Cathy's home. Born in West Donegal, PA, Jay was the son of the late Elias T. and Fannie Shank (Daveler) Frey. He was married to Esther M. Bair Frey for 35 years.
After graduating from Elizabethtown High School, he went on to work on various farms, then as a carpenter for J.C. Snavely and a night watchman supervisor for Sensenig's. He was a faithful servant of God and attended numerous churches. Having read the bible 250 times, he could recite many scriptures. Jay was very active and enjoyed walking.
Jay is survived by sons, Glenn E. Frey, Edward E. Frey, daughters, Catherine A., wife of Jayson Bradley and Pauline M., wife of Dennis Wolgemuth, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and a sister, Fannie Lois Frey. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara A. Edgell and siblings: Dorothy Frey, Paul Frey, Harold Frey, Mary Frey Ritchie, Martin Frey, Ralph Frey, Erma Frey Schnabel, Elias Frey, Jr., Claude Frey, Earl Frey and Nancy Frey Longenecker.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jay's Funeral Service at Erb Mennonite Church, 567 W. Lexington Road, Lititz on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Annville - John H. Frey, 65, of Annville, passed away at home on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Marlin Frey and Emma (Frey) Weber.
He was a farmer for many years and most recently employed by Risser Poultry.
He was a member of Mt. View Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Marian, wife of Leonard Martin, Lititz, and seven sons: John, Jr. and wife Luci (Zeiset) Frey, of Newmanstown, Lavern and wife Sandra (Brubaker) Frey, of Womelsdorf, Michael of Jonestown, Nevin and wife Jessica (Weaver) Frey, of Annville, Sheldon Frey, of Annville, David and wife Janelle (Burkholder) Frey, of Myerstown, Nathaniel and wife Alissa (Sensenig) Frey, of Loysville, 25 grandchildren, one brother, Leon R. Frey, of Leola, 2 step-sisters, Vera and Ray Shantz, Shirley and Willard Martin, 3 step-brothers, Murray Weber, Ray Weber, Ronald Weber, all of Ontario.
He was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, a sister-in-law, Erma Frey, and his stepfather, Ion Weber.

Ervin H. Fry, 82, of Topeka, died at 12:10 pm on Monday, August 30, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 2, 1939 in Yoder, KS, to Harvey and Elizabeth (Miller) Fry. On December 13, 1962 in Topeka he married Barbara Ellen Frey; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are four sons, Vernon (Cynthia) Fry of Dublin, TX, David (Kathryn) Fry of Topeka, Olen (Lana) Fry of Ligonier, Marlin Fry of Anderson; three daughters, Dorothy (Floyd) Beechy of Rome City, Lou Etta (Levi) Mast of Shipshewana, Velda (Steven) Wingard of Topeka; 20 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Felty (Katie) Fry of Topeka, Perry (Eli) Fry of Topeka; two sisters, Polly (Eli) Raber of Topeka, Anna (Willie) Miller of Ligonier; sisters-in-law, Alice Fry of Topeka, Anna Fry of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Mary Marlene and Martha Arlene Fry; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Fry; three brothers, William, Andy, and Harley Fry.
Ervin was a retired farmer, had worked with John Kurtz for a number of years, and most recently, at Emma Warehouse. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Jake Lee Fry, stillborn son of Darin and Amy (Hochstetler) Fry of Millersburg, was delivered at 12:45 pm, on Sunday, September 26, at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne. Surviving are two brothers, Conner Jase and Zachary John Fry; sister, Hailey Jane Fry all at home; grandparents, Danny and Darlene (Bontrager) Fry of Goshen, Glen and Martha (Miller) Hochstetler of Bremen; great grandparents, Jonas Hochstetler of Bremen, Felty and Katie Fry of Topeka and Floyd and Ruby Bontrager of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Kyle Ray Schmucker.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 29, at the family's residence, 66695 CR 37, Millersburg. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 pm at Timber View Cemetery, Millersburg. Services will be conducted by Bishop Mervin H. Yoder of the Old Order Amish Church.
Frye, Edna Mae Troyer
September 3, 1925 - February 16, 2021
Edna Mae (Troyer) Frye, 95, of Goshen passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
She was born September 3, 1925 in Midland, Michigan to John D. and Catherine “Kate” (Miller) Troyer.
On December 14, 1947 she married Harley N. Frye. He died February 15, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Jean (Daryl) Yoder and a son, Roger Lee (Joyce) Frye, both of Goshen; two grandchildren, Jonathon (Kendra) Yoder of Wakarusa and Kelsey (Ryan) Rodriguez of Goshen; and four great-grandchildren, Ellie, Maggie and Spencer Yoder and Jaxson Rodriguez.
To a multitude of other children, she was also known as Aunt Edna, mom and grandma. She loved them all.
Along with her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Edward Troyer, and two sisters, Alice Marie Troyer (died at 2 years of age) and Joanna Graber.
Edna was a lifelong homemaker, home health care giver, a wonderful cook and seamstress. She did clothing alterations for many years, along with cake decorating, knitting, crocheting and card making. She also loved to play cards and games and belonged to many card groups. She attended Clinton Frame Church.
Every five years on her birthday, Edna would ride a horse. She rode her last one on her 90th birthday.
Private family services will take place with burial at Eden Cemetery, Topeka.

Frye, Noah H.
November 22, 1927 - March 23, 2021
Noah H. Frye, 93, loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, passed away at 8:33 am on Tuesday, March 23, Waterford Crossing Health Center, Goshen. He had been in declining health the past nine days as a result of a fall. He was born on November 22, 1927 in Topeka to Henry and Lydia Ann (Troyer) Frye and was the fifth out of 10 children. He had lived most of his life in Middlebury, until recently moving to Goshen. On May 31, 1958 at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury he married Mary Alice Miller, who was the love of his life that he had met while "cruising" Main Street in Goshen.
Survivors who will miss him dearly include his wife; two sons, Keith Grant (Peggy) Frye and Kerry Wayne (Tina) Frye all of Middlebury; and his five grandchildren, Jenson, Brenna, Steven, Grant and Nicole Frye, who he enjoyed building toys for, giving rides on the lawnmower to and going on hikes with.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Susan Yoder, Katy Yoder, Edna Miller, Ella Wingard and Lovina Frye; four brothers, Elvie, Sam, Calvin and Joas Frye.
Noah had been an active member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury and was known for his willingness to always help others; this was also evident as he volunteered for several mission trips.
Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:30 am on Friday, March 26, at First Mennonite Church, 203 E. Lawrence Middlebury. Funeral services will follow visitation, beginning at 10:30 am also at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Phil Yoder. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Mennonite Disaster Services.
