Nauman, Ruth Brubaker
January 8, 1919 - December 8, 2021
Ruth B. Nauman, 102, of Lititz, PA, peacefully went to be with Jesus while in her sleep on Wednesday evening, December 8, 2021 at United Zion Retirement Community. Born in Warwick Twp., she was the daughter of the late Levi and Mabel Buckwalter Brubaker. She was the wife of Elam P. Nauman for 60 years prior to his passing in 2002.
Ruth was a faithful member of Lititz Mennonite Church where she taught children's Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She also served on the visiting committee and helped to plan mother and daughter banquets. In addition to her church, she was devoted to her family. In the early years of their marriage, she worked to support her young family during World War II while her husband was off serving in alternative service. Although Ruth was foremost a homemaker, she was employed part time by the former Kline's Candy in the village of Lexington creating beautifully decorated coconut Easter eggs. In addition to being active in the Brunnerville community, she enjoyed visiting family and taking rides in the country.
She is survived by three children, Nancy J. Eby Weaver of Lititz, Joyce E., wife of Gerald Whisler, of Elizabethtown, and Daryl E., husband of Cena Frey Nauman, of Millersville; six grandchildren, Clair Eby, Sandy Fahnestock, Janelle Groff, Julie Fainter, Dawn Eby, and Jeff Whisler; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Alta Bucher of Lititz. Ruth also welcomed into the family seven step grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren; and 11 step great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Clyde Eby and Floyd Weaver; and three siblings, an infant sister Edith, Clarence Brubaker, and Grace Summy.
Ruth's family extends a big "Thank you" to the staff at United Zion Retirement Community for the loving care provided for Ruth.

Neff, Mary Louise Troyer
January 21, 1925 - October 24, 2021
Mary Louise (Troyer) Neff, a long-time resident of LaGrange County, passed away on October 24, 2021 at the Orchard Point Health Campus in Kendallville, Indiana. Mary was 96 years old. She was born at home on January 21, 1925 to Jerry and Orpha Troyer. Mary married Vernon Neff on March 4, 1944 and he preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her eleven children: Sylvia Miller (LeRoy) from Beckemeyer, IL, Carl Neff (Linda) from Lincolnton, NC, Carolyn Good from Eaton, GA, Ruth Hammond (Don) from Kendallville, IN, Joyce Pharis (Bob) from Fort Wayne, IN, Margaret Gunning (Steve) from Arvada, CO, Ruby Reynolds (Frank) from Key West, FL, Janet Root from Kendallville, IN, Anita Neff from San Deigo, CA, Vernon Neff (Talandra) from Goshen, IN, Mark Neff (Jennifer) from Fort Wayne, and by 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Mary had a heart to serve and was active in her church and community. She knotted hundreds of comforters that were sent around the world and used within her community.
Donations in Mary's name can be made out to Menno-Clinic, India with Mary Neff in the memo line and mailed to the Emma Church.

Newcomer, Donald Lee
November 4, 1939 - February 4, 2021
Donald Lee Newcomer, 81, of Shipshewana, passed away peacefully at 1:03 pm on Thursday, February 4, at his residence, after a brief battle with ALS. He was born on November 4, 1939 in Goshen to Franklin A. and Maxine (Myers) Newcomer. On October 1, 1960 in Nappanee he married Nila Nunemaker, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Cynthia (Bradley) Hostetler and Christi (Shannon) Schrock all of Shipshewana; three grandchildren, Kara Rosentreter, Briana Schrock, Seth Schrock; great-granddaughter, Olivia Rosentreter; sister, Myrna (Richard) Gerber of Shipshewana; two brothers, Keith (Judy) Newcomer of Howe and Gene (Gwendolyn) Newcomer of Shipshewana.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Don had worked at Fan Coach for 25 years and then was a farmer for the next 25 years. Earlier in his life he enjoyed horses and later he enjoyed antique tractors and golfing. He was a member of Shore Church where he was very active including serving as the steward of the church property. He also volunteered and served as a board member for Battle Creek Mission.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 7, at Shore Church, 7235 W 100 N Shipshewana. The family will hold a private funeral service and burial. Services will be conducted by Pastor Nic Raber. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana. Memorials may be given to Gideons International or Rainbow Years Learning Ministry.
Newcomer, Rollin Jay
December 10, 1942 - September 4, 2021
Rollin Jay Newcomer, 78 of Wakarusa, passed away Saturday, September 4th 2021 at his residence. He was born December 10th 1942 in St. Joseph County to Dwight and Ruth Ellen (Smeltzer) Newcomer. On June 4, 1966 he married Loretta Newcomer and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons Robert (Candy) Newcomer of Nappanee, Kevin (Shelly) Newcomer of Wakarusa, five grandchildren Madison, Kayden, Kinsey, Austin, and Stephanie, three siblings, Paul Lamar (Kathleen) Newcomer of Toto, IN, Mary Jean (Marvin) Troyer of Fairview, MI, and Carolyn (Harvey) Hochstetler of Ontario, CA.
He was preceded by his parents.
Rollin was a farmer and a member of Holdeman Mennonite Church, Wakarusa.
Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Monday, September 6th 2021 and from 9-10 am Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 with a funeral service at 10 am all at Holdeman Mennonite Church, 65723 CR 1 Wakarusa, IN 46573. Pastor Steve Slagel will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive (East) Cemetery.

We are sad to announce that on November 2, 2021, at the age of 89, Adam Newswanger of Ephrata, Pennsylvania passed away.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Peter Newswanger and Lizzie Newswanger Martin (Hoover); his brothers, James, Peter, John and Luke Newswanger; and his step-siblings, Paul B., Norman B., Harvey B. Martin, Katie (David Weaver), Lizzie Mae, Mary Martin and Anna Eberly.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth S. Newswanger; his son Michael Newswanger; his close friends, Rose of Ephrata, SueAnn (Darryl L. Martin) of Denver and Jay (Kelly); and his sisters-in-law, Marianna and Pauline Newswanger. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, November 9th 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center (210 E Lexington Rd, Lititz, PA 17543). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 10th 2021 at 9:00 AM at the same location.

Paul Z. Newswanger, 89, formerly of New Holland, died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the home of his daughter Grace. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha W. (Oberholtzer) Newswanger in 2015.
Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Adam and Mary (Zimmerman) Newswanger.
Paul was a farmer and a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are 10 children: Anna Mary married to Paul Rissler, New Enterprise, Harvey married to Anna Mae (Sauder) Newswanger, Newville, Marian married to Alvin Leid, Shippensburg, Paul, Jr. married to Dorothy (Sauder) Newswanger, McAlisterville, Walter married to Mary Ann (Zimmerman) Newswanger, Narvon, Elsie married to Glenn Martin, New Enterprise, Lester married to Marian (Weaver) Newswanger, New Holland, Earl married to Susan (Fox) Newswanger, Wellman, IA, Grace married to Eugene Stauffer, New Enterprise, Martha Mae married to Raymond Zimmerman, Mansfield, OH, 61 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren, and five siblings: Daniel Newswanger, Morgantown, Ella Zimmerman, Ephrata, Annie Kilmer, MO, Susanna married to Amos Kilmer, Spencer, TN, Leah Hoover, NY.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Fannie Zimmerman, Katie Leinbach, and Mary Weaver.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Weaverland Mennonite Church with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. June 8, 1933 ~ November 12, 2021 (age 88)
David Nissley, 88 years, 5 months, 5 days, of Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Arthur, Illinois passed away peacefully November 12, 2021, 11 am at Forest Glen Health Campus in Springfield, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Penn Station in Arthur, Illinois with Pastors Larry Rocke and Luke Goss officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon the same day. Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
David was born June 8, 1933 in Custer County, Thomas, Oklahoma, the son of Bishop Ira and Barbara S (Schlabach) Nissley. He married Edna J. Herschberger on October 20, 1955. They lived in Holy Matrimony for 66 years and 23 days.
He is survived by his wife and 3 children – Lavern Ira Nissley and his wife, Ronda Mardell (Miller), of Springfield, Ohio; Kenneth James Nissley and his wife, Terri (Hopkins), of Greenfield, Indiana; Karen Jayne Myers and her husband, Gordon, of Dripping Springs, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 1 step grandchild; 3 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Ada; 3 sisters, Irene Bender, Ellen Nissley, Bertha Helmuth; 1 brother, Eli Nissley; 3 stepsisters, Ruth Miller, Wilma Mast, Susan Beachy; 2 stepbrothers, Alvin Yoder and Simon Yoder.
While living in Goshen, Indiana David and his family attended Mt. Joy Conservative Mennonite Church. In Arthur, they attended Sunnyside Mennonite Church. After moving to Springfield, Ohio they have been attending Westside Christian Community Church.
While living in Arthur, before he was blinded with macular degeneration, David very much
enjoyed making all kinds of marble rollers and a variety of items made out of wood. He especially loved using his lathe, which also constructed.
In lieu of memorials, the family requests that gifts be given to Sunnyside Mennonite Church for their rebuilding fund.
Nissley, Esther Ruth Weaver
July 22, 1929 - March 16, 2021
Esther Ruth Nissley, 91, of Lewisburg entered into rest on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Evangelical Community Hospital. Born on July 22, 1929 in Bareville, a daughter of the late Aaron G. Weaver and Lydia (Martin) Weaver. On March 4, 1950, she married Mervin B. Nissley, who passed away on April 25, 2011.
Esther was a homemaker. She loved caring for her children and family. She attended Millmont Mennonite Church. She enjoyed reading, and sending card as part of a cards ministry.
She is survived by 11 children and their spouses; Thelma (Dale) Kennedy of Thurmont, MD, Sharon (Dennis) Harnish of Lititz , Joyce (Ken) Smoker of Atglen, Phyllis (Dave) Becker of Elizabethtown, Marilyn (Delbert) Swartz of Thompsontown, Maurice (Joyce) Nissley of Mifflinburg, Cheryl (Ken) Shaum of Goshen, Indiana, Charles (Sallie) Nissley of Turbotville, Sylvia Beiler of Lewisburg, Gloria (Carl) Reinford of Beavertown, Luella (Dan) Miller of Lewisburg, three sisters, Mabel Hernley of Ephrata, Miriam Swope, Sarasota, FL, Reba Wissler of Lancaster, daughter-in-law, Marian (Dale) Wenger of Columbiana, Ohio, 29 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was one son, Milford Nissley on Nov. 11, 1995, son-in-law, Bill Miller on March 16, 1997, three brothers, Harlan, Luke and Paul Weaver, two sisters, Anna Keperling, Laura Carpenter, 2 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday and on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Millmont Mennonite Church. The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 AM, with Pastor's Jonathan Schmidt, Lewis Hoover, and Nathaniel Reiff officiating. Wearing a mask is required. Interment will be in the Millmont Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Nissley, Faith G. Eshleman
October 26, 1930 - October 15, 2021
Faith G. (Eshleman) Nissley entered into rest at Hospice and Community Care on Friday, October 15, 2021. She was the daughter of John F. and Hattie (Graver) Eshleman born in Conestoga on October 26, 1930. She graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1948.
Surviving is her husband John L. Nissley of 61 years. Also surviving is a brother, Rev. J. David Eshleman, his wife Helen, and two nephews, Scott and Chester, and one niece, Joy Noel.
For a period of time, she was employed by Eastern Mennonite Missions, Stauffer’s of Kissel Hill, and Keen’s Services of Lititz.
She enjoyed reading, counted cross stitching, and sewed quilt tops. A member of Erb Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School during her 50 years of attendance.
Viewing time will take place from 10-10:30 AM on Saturday, October 23 at Erb Mennonite Church, 567 W Lexington Rd., Lititz, PA 17543, with a service to follow at 10:30 AM. Homer D. Nissley, 88, of South Bend passed on Tuesday, January 12 after a brief illness surrounded by family. Homer was born December 31, 1932 in Nappanee, IN to the late Sue (Schmucker) and Daniel H. Nissley and lived in South Bend since 1963. On June 3, 1956 in Etna Green, IN he married Betty Graber who survives.
He is also survived by three daughters, Rachel S. Hansen (Greg) of Lawrenceville, NJ, Lena M. Nissley (Rob Scott) of Baraboo, WI, and Kathy Nissley (Matt Eberly) of Madison, WI; three sons, James D. Nissley of South Bend, Dwight V. Nissley (Mary Ellen Palko) of Frederick, MD, and Gareth L. Nissley (Carolyn M. Martin) of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren: Amos, Alia (Dwight), Jennifer, Bjorn, Jan Dominik (Jay), Dylan, Amanda, Jared, Ethan (Gareth), Corrina, Ben, Isaiah (Rachel), Levi, Jude (Kathy), Lydia, and Finley; three sisters, Ruby Nissley and Miriam Orendorf (Cleo) both of Nappanee, and Sue Ellen Nissley of Wakarusa, IN; and three brothers, Lloyd Nissley (Gladys) and Ira Nissley (Reinhilde) both of Nappanee, and Dan Nissley (Paige) of Lebanon, PA.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jay H. Nissley; one sister, Treva Yoder; and two brothers, Melvin and Vernon Nissley.

Homer grew up in a large Amish family and learned how to work hard growing mint in the fertile mucklands of Northern Indiana. As a young man, Homer seemed to know farming was not his destiny and sought out new experiences. As a conscientious objector during the Korean War, Homer served in 1W alternative service at an Indianapolis Hospital. He attended Goshen College, from which eventually six of his seven children also graduated. He earned his bachelor's degree in Education and went on to earn a master's degree in Education from Indiana University. Homer's early days as a teacher were in a one-room country school. He spent many years as a teacher in elementary schools. Homer also provided leadership as the President of the South Bend teacher's union, working towards bringing equity among teachers through affirmative action policies and within schools through desegregation. Homer taught hundreds of students over his career and often ran across students around town who enthusiastically wanted to say hello to “Mr. Nissley”. It was obvious that in large part this was a product of mutual respect and the love he showed students while still gently demanding high expectations.
Homer and Betty were early members of Kern Road Chapel, now Kern Road Mennotite Church, where Homer served in many leadership and mentoring roles, especially as a witness to Peace and Justice issues.
Homer was one of the founding members of the Near Northwest Neighborhood organization, committed to promoting neighborhood revitalization and community development. Along with local service, Homer and Betty served with Mennonite Disaster Service in Louisiana to help with the rebuilding efforts after hurricane Katrina. Homer developed a love of woodworking and made many treasured toys for his grandchildren over the years. He donated many handcrafted items for MCC relief sales. He also served many years as a dedicated “Meals on Wheels” volunteer.
Homer was an important man for all the lives he enhanced, but more significantly, he always left those lives he touched feeling important themselves.
Nissley, Mary C. Bauman
December 24, 1929 - May 13, 2021
Mary C. Nissley, 91, formerly of Landisville Road, Manheim passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late David and Emma Witmer Bauman. She was the loving wife of the late Hiram W. Nissley who died in 2018. Mary was a member of Kauffman Mennonite Church, Manheim. Her interests included quilting, embroidery, flower and vegetable gardening, and she loved to spend time with her family.
Surviving are five daughters: Diane L. Zaiac (Paul) of Marietta, Joyce E. Jones (William) of Lancaster, Barbara J. Carmer (Kasey) of Penns Grove, NJ, Eileen K. and Cheryl A. Nissley both of Landisville; four grandchildren, 3 great-grandsons and two siblings: David B. Bauman (Miriam) of Lebanon and Dorothy Heller (Herbert) of Alabama. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, and four siblings: Anna Bomberger, Ruth Stoner, Harvey and Ivan Bauman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary's funeral service at Kauffman Mennonite Church, 1355 Lancaster Road, Manheim on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Masks and social distancing recommended. Nissley, Sue E.
November 4, 1953 - August 14, 2021
Sue E. Nissley, age 67, of Wakarusa, died at 2:50 am, Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She was born November 4, 1953 in Bremen to Daniel and Sue (Schmucker) Nissley.
Sue was a graduate of NorthWood High School. She had worked in area nursing homes and in home health care as a CNA.
Surviving is a sister, Ruby Nissley, Nappanee; brothers, Lloyd (Gladys) Nissley, Ira (Reinhilde) Nissley, both of Nappanee, Daniel Jr. (Paige) Nissley, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Betty Nissley, Goshen, Mattie Nissley, Dunlap; and brother-in-law, Cleo Orendorf. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Treva Yoder, Miriam Orendorf; and brothers, Melvin, Vernon, and Homer Nissley.
Following Sue’s wishes, cremation will take place with inurnment at Bethel Church Cemetery at a later date.
Noll, Violet I. Martin
January 10, 1933 - July 13, 2021
Violet I. Noll, 89, entered Heaven at her Warwick Township home on Wednesday, July 13, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Ephrata to the late Aaron and Martha (Nolt) Martin. Violet shared almost 35 years with her husband Charles J. Noll before his death in 2007.
She worked as a nurse in Philadelphia before marrying Charles, and then became a wonderful caring housewife for their family.
A member of Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, Violet was active in the sewing circle making knot quilts. She enjoyed sewing school kit bags for MCC, and reading her Bible and Christian novels. She was also active in The Gideons International.
Violet and Charles spent part of the winter months at their Sebring, FL home, where she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed completing puzzles and playing Upwords with friends, and playing Dominoes and Chase the Rat with her grandchildren.
Violet's surviving family includes her children, Linda, wife of Rodney (Reed) of Lititz, and Kenneth Noll, husband of Liz of Akron; foster-children, Khang Tran, Minh Tran, Philip Hammer, and Virginia Miller; grandchildren, Carissa Fritz, Charlotte Reed, Benjamin Reed, Jonathan Noll, husband of Andi, and Jacob Noll,; and foster-grandchildren, Ethan and Claire Tran.
A viewing will take place 9 to 10 AM, followed by the celebration of Violet's life at 10 AM with The Rev. Leonard Rutt officiating, on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, 590 Hammer Creek Road, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

August 9, 1944 - September 21, 2021
Aaron Nolt, 77, a resident of Lincoln Christian Home, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
Born in West Earl Township, he was the son of the late Amos and Ada (Zimmerman) Nolt. He was the husband of Loretta (Zimmerman) Nolt with whom he celebrated their 57th anniversary in February.
He was a member of Springville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference).
Aaron was a retired bus driver, truck driver, and poultry farmer.
In addition to his wife, Aaron is survived by seven children, Virgil, husband of Dolores (Hoover) of Stevens, Stanley Nolt of South Carolina, Brian, husband of Michelle (Hurst) of Reinholds, Aaron Nolt, Jr. of Ephrata, Virginia, wife of Timothy Eberly of Elliottsburg, Lavonne, wife of Randall Weaver of Fortuna, MO, Wesley, husband of Kathleen (Halteman) of Stevens; a daughter-in-law, Shirley (Martin) Nolt of Rehersburg; 43 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Vera, wife of the late Jerry Sensenig, Pauline, wife of Landis Weaver.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen; three brothers, Martin, Amos Jr. and Elmer; a sister, Mabel; a daughter-in-law, Jane, and a great-grandson, Gabriel.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Farm Crest Chapel at Fairmount Homes, 1100 Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 90 Groffdale Church Road, Leola, with Bishop Melvin Martin officiating. Nolt, Christina Joy Hershberger

Christina Joy Nolt, 39, of Dodge Center, MN passed away from T Cell Lymphoma on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at her home.
Christy was born on March 22, 1982, to Mahlon and Regina (Troyer) Hershberger in Millersburg, OH. She married her husband, Delvin Nolt and together they had four children.
Christy was diagnosed with Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma on September 11, 2019. Through the next two years it meant trips for treatments and some study trials. Nothing was successful. Her journey here on earth was short, but she was one you never heard complaining. She was a good support to her husband, who is a farmer and a pastor, and she was a great mom to her four children. She loved gardening, organizing, shopping, and attending garage sales. Her visits to a coffee shop were always a highlight to her day. Her Christian example of love for God and then loving those around her was a great testimony.
Christy is survived by her husband, Delvin Nolt; children, Maleah, Shawn, Deklan, and Brenden; parents, Mahlon and Regina Hershberger; brothers, Dan (Brittney) Hershberger and Jason (Jordan) Hershberger and sister, Mary Hershberger.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Darwin and Violet (Stutzman) Troyer and paternal grandparents, Mose and Lydia (Peachy) Hershberger.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Community Celebration Church, 27337 County Hwy 34 in Kasson, MN. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center, MN. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery in Dodge Center, MN.
Nolt, Irwin W.
September 10, 1931 - December 13, 2021
Irwin W. Nolt, 90, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. His wife of 68 years, Esther (High) Nolt, survives. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Menno Wenger and Lizzie H. (Weaver) Nolt.
Through the years he was a farmer, school bus driver and employed at Sperry NH (CNH). Together with his brother, he owned Nolt’s Auto Parts, where he continued to work until recently. He was a member of Springville Mennonite Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Marilyn (Leland) Martin, East Earl, Mary (Ray) Zimmerman, Denver, seven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two brothers: Henry (Mary) Nolt, Lititz, and John Nolt, Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Alvin Nolt, Menno Nolt, Jr., Alma Sensenig, and Lizzie Mae Nolt.

John S. Nolt, 80, of 550 N. Shirk Rd., New Holland, died Friday, December 24, 2021, at his home. His wife, Anna Mary (Oberholtzer) Nolt, survives.
Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Levi and Minnie (Shirk) Nolt.
John was a farmer and a member of New Holland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Jonas W. Nolt, 89, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Monday, July 19, 2021, at his home.
He was born on September 1, 1931, in Churchtown, PA, a son of the late Noah Z. and Lizzie M. Weaver Nolt.
Jonas worked as a farmer throughout his life. He also owned and operated a salvage business for tractor parts.
Jonas is survived by eleven children, Ruth S. (Wayne) Martin of Mount Forest, Ontario, Canada, Rhoda S. (Ervin) Bauman of Kenilworth, Ontario, Canada, Wilma S. (Amsey) Gingrich of Mount Forest, Ontario, Canada, Mark S. (Mary Ann) Nolt of Newville, PA, Erma S. (Alvin) Zimmerman of Dundee, NY, Edward S. (Marian) Nolt of Liberty, KY, Ellen S. (Orvie) Martin of Newville, PA, Julia S. (Curvin) Martin of Muncie, IN, James S. Nolt of Shippensburg, PA, Kathryn S. (John) Ramer of Shippensburg, and Ervin S. (Emma) Nolt of Newville, PA; eighty-one grandchildren; ninety-six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha W. (Irvin) Zimmerman of Hahnstown, PA, and Frances W. Martin of Narvon, PA; one brother, Menno W. Nolt of Ephrata, PA; sister-in-law, Lydia Nolt of Fleetwood, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Martha K. Nolt, 92 of Richland, PA, passed away peacefully at the Richland Christian Home on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was the wife of the late Titus Z. Nolt. She was born in Earl Township, Lancaster County on December 12, 1928, a daughter of the late Edgar and Sarah Kurtz Buckwalter. Martha was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church of Weaverland Conference.

Mary M. Nolt, 91, a resident of Lincoln Christian Home, died at the home on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
She was married 17 years to the late Ivan M. Nolt who died June 8, 2020. Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Aaron L. and Katie Kreider Oberholtzer.
Mary was a member of the South Hinkletown Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. She had been employed many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Cedar Haven in Lebanon.
Surviving are five step children, I. Mark, married to Marie (Weaver) Nolt of Ephrata, James K., married to Sarah (High) Nolt of Ephrata, Martha Anne, married to Dennis Rhodes of New Waterford, OH, K. Timothy, married to Minerva (Zimmerman) Nolt of Denver, and Rhoda G., married to David Martin of Ephrata; 28 step grandchildren, 72 step great grandchildren; a brother, Nathan K., husband of Miriam (Nolt) Oberholtzer of Denver; and three sister-in-laws, Katie Newswanger of Newmanstown, Anna Mary Oberholtzer of Ephrata, and Edna Mae, wife of James Martin of Ronks. June 26, 1955 - April 1, 2021
Myerstown - Nelson W. Nolt, age 65, of Womelsdorf, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 1, 2021, after a three month battle with pancreatic cancer. He died surrounded by his loving wife of 45 years, and his children.
He was born in Ephrata to the late Martin Z. and the late Eva (Weaver) Nolt on June 26, 1955. He was married to Ruth Ann Allgyer on April 26, 1975.
He is survived by his wife and six children: Blossom, wife of the late John Earl Hollinger of Myerstown; Kurt, husband of Judith (Brougher) Nolt of Reading; Martin, husband of Deborah (Hollinger) Nolt of Lebanon; Angela, wife of Nolan Martin of Womelsdorf; Clifford, husband of Rocinda (Horst) Nolt of Myerstown; and Jeffery, at home. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
Also surviving are his siblings: Linda, wife of Clair Lapp of Lebanon; Jane, wife of Nelson Neuenschwander of Lititz; Myron, husband of Sally (Hostetter) Nolt of Peach Bottom; Nevin, husband of Wanda (Zimmerman) Nolt of Peach Bottom; and a sister-in-law, Debbie (Martin) Nolt, wife of the late Glen Nolt of Peach Bottom.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Rosebud; a son-in-law, John Earl Hollinger; a brother, Glen Nolt; and an infant brother, Jay Nolt.

Samuel M. Nolt, 74, of 133 Hess Road, Leola, died Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at his residence. Born in Leola, he was the son of the late Samuel S. and Eva W. Martin Nolt. He was the husband of Verna Burkholder Nolt. Samuel was a farmer and a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Wayne Z. Nolt, 61, of Charles City, entered eternal rest on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at his home.

Wayne Zimmerman Nolt was born March 11, 1959 in Earl Township, Pennsylvania the son of the late Reuben and Lydia Ann (Zimmerman) Nolt Martin. On Feb. 25, 1982, Wayne was united in marriage to Elva Brubacker.

Amos W. Oberholtzer, age 70 years, 3 months, and 24 days, of Owen, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL, as a result of an automobile accident.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Popple Ridge Mennonite Church in the Town of Mayville. His final resting place will be at the church cemetery. Earl Oberholtzer, Elvin Hoover, Wilmer Oberholtzer, and Jerry Brubaker will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Timothy Oberholtzer, Amos Oberholtzer, Jr., Landis Sensenig, Matthew Weaver, Phillip Martin, and Kenton Sensenig. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church.
Amos was born on July 18, 1951, in Lebanon, PA, the son of Levi N. and Lizzie B. (Weaver) Oberholtzer. He served two years in the selective service system as a 1-W. Amos was united in marriage to Alma W. Herr in 1972. Amos farmed in Missouri for 10 years and then spent 9 years doing construction work in Pennsylvania, moving to Wisconsin in 1993 to a dairy farm until his retirement in 2011. During his retirement, he did taxi work and as a hobby had an animal health store.
Amos loved meeting people and enjoyed being involved in community activities. He passed his love of singing on to his family. He will be greatly missed by all.
Amos is survived by his wife Alma W. Oberholtzer of Owen, children: Rhoda (Landis) Sensenig of Owen, Lorraine (Matthew) Weaver of Loyal, Timothy (Kimberly) Oberholtzer of Unity, Joanna (Phillip) Martin of Colby, and Amos (Marcea) Oberholtzer, Jr. of Withee, and 28 grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers: Paul (Mary Edna) Oberholtzer, Lloyd (Esther) Oberholtzer, Irvin (Edith) Oberholtzer, and Abner (Leora) Oberholtzer, sister: Esther Huber, brother-in-law: Edwin Hoover, and sister-in-law: Miriam Oberholtzer.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Levi and Lizzie Oberholtzer, sisters: Anna Hoover and Grace Huber, brother: Leroy Oberholtzer, brother-in-law: Martin Huber, and sisters-in-law: Anna Oberholtzer and Verna Oberholtzer.

He was a member of Meadow Valley Mennonite Church. David was a farmer and in later years did woodworking.

Ephraim M. Oberholtzer, 87, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at his home. He was born in Upper Leacock Township to the late Noah L. and Emma G. (Martin) Oberholtzer and was the husband of Alta Nolt Reiff Oberholtzer with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Ephraim was a member of Groffdale Old Order Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. He had been a farmer until retirement, he also worked at the Leola Produce Auction for 20+ years.

Kristine Joy Oberholtzer, the nine-day old child of Calvin R. and Louise B. Oberholtzer, died peacefully at home on Friday night, January 15, 2021.
Kristine was born January 7, 2021 at home in Shiloh, Ohio and, in addition to her parents, is survived by four brothers: Jamin, Jared, Caleb, and Kenric; paternal grandparents: Ben and Esther Oberholtzer; maternal grandparents: Jason and Elva Oberholtzer; maternal great grandparents: Joseph Oberholtzer and Emma Burkholder; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Sharon, Lyle, and Sheryl.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 1-4 pm at the family home, 6845 Amstutz Road, Shiloh, Ohio 44878. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 9:30 am at Bloomingrove Old Order Mennonite Church, Free Road, Shiloh, with Bishop Alvin Hoover and the home ministry officiating. Dorothy M. Otto, 81 of Sullivan, Illinois passed away at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her daughter’s residence rural Tuscola, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Paul O. Herschberger residence 1553 CR 1275 N, Sullivan, IL. Bishop Christy Diener will officiate. Burial will be in the Timberview Cemetery in rural Sullivan, IL. Visitation will be anytime prior to the services at the Paul Herschberger residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Dorothy was born November 25, 1939 in Douglas County, IL. She was a daughter of Menno J. and Sarah C. (Gingerich) Chupp. She married Levi Otto on November 28, 1957 in Arthur, IL. He passed away on September 16, 2020.
Survivors include one son, Wilmer Otto and his wife Lela of Sullivan, IL; two daughters, Mary Kaufman and her husband Allen of Tuscola, IL, Martha Kaufman and her husband David of Newaygo, MI; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Ann Schrock and her husband Omer of Lovington, IL, Bertha Beachy and her husband Freeman, Elnora Miller; two brothers, Elva Chupp and his wife Bertha, Daniel Chupp and his wife Dorothy; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Chupp all of Arthur, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Levi C. Otto, two stillborn children, one brother, Ervin M. Chupp, one sister Anna Marie Otto and her husband, Jr. Otto, one brother-in-law, Marvin Ray Miller and one sister-in-law, Lorene Chupp.
Dorothy was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Otto, Tressie Lou Burkholder Yoder

Tressie Lou Otto, age 88, formerly of Etna Green, IN, passed away at 2:58am on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN of natural causes. She was born on October 4, 1932 in Nappanee, IN to Emanuel and Rosa (Hochstetler) Burkholder.
Mrs. Otto lived most of her life in the Nappanee, IN area and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. On November 1, 1962 Tressie married her first husband, John Edward Yoder, in Nappanee, IN. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1998. On June 24, 2000, Tressie married her second husband, Eli Otto. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2006.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Barbara Lou of Etna Green, IN of Etna Green, IN and Martha Rose of Bourbon, IN; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Mary Ellen Mast of Elkhart, IN.
Mrs. Otto was preceded in death by her parents, her first and second husband, a son, Henry Jerome Yoder; a daughter Laura Fern Yoder, and 2 sisters, Dorothy Fern Yoder and Laura Mae Helmuth.
Friends and family may call after 11:30am on Friday,August 13, 2021 at the Michael Miller residence. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am, Saturday, August 14th also at the Miller residence. Home Ministries of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will take place at Graber Cemetery.

Miriam Orendorf, age 70, of Nappanee, died at 10:12 pm, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital , where she had been admitted Wednesday after a short illness. She was born May 2, 1950 in Bremen to Daniel and Sue (Schmucker) Nissley.
Mrs. Orendorf lived most of her life in Nappanee. She married Cleo L. Orendorf, June 29, 1969 at Bethel Conservative Church in Nappanee. Miriam was a member of Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church. She was baptized in her youth and served her Lord faithfully. Miriam enjoyed flowers and caring for others and had volunteered for the Center for Hospice.
Miriam is survived by her husband, Cleo; children, Sharena (Gary) Miller, Nappanee, Dorinda (David) Simmons, Hutchinson, KS, Fonda (Jason) Gladieux, Bourbon, Sherman (Mandee) Orendorf, Shiner, TX; grandchildren, Shania , Mikala, Natasha, Cameron Miller, Justin, Aimee, Jessica, Tyler Gladieux, Troy, Lizabeth Orendorf; sisters, Ruby Nissley, Nappanee, Sue Ellen Nissley, Wakarusa; brothers, Lloyd (Gladys) Nissley, Ira (Reinhilde) Nissley, both of Nappanee, Daniel Jr. (Paige) Nissley, Jacksonville, FL; and sister-in-laws, Betty Nissley, South Bend and Mattie Nissley, Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Treva Yoder; and brothers, Homer, Melvin, Vernon Nissley.

Nancy A. Parcell, 83, Wakarusa, died 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at her residence where she was born, August 22, 1938, in St. Joseph County. On November 17, 1956, she married Donald D. Parcell.
Surviving are her husband, Donald, Wakarusa, children, Bill (Eva) Parcell, Wakarusa, Donna (Lee) Leatherman, Goshen, 5 grandchildren, Laura (Jason) Slabach, Wakarusa, John (Alyson) Leatherman, Goshen, Joshua Leatherman, Goshen, Sarah Parcell, Wakarusa, Zachary Parcell, Wakarusa, 3 great-grandchildren, Leon, Logan, Luke Leatherman, sister, Eleanor Shoup, Oskaloosa, Iowa and a brother, James (Shirley) Davidhizar, Huntsville, Texas.
Preceding her in death are her parents and sister, Imogene Davidhizar.
Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Madison High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Extension Homemaker Club for over 50 years. Nancy was a member of Holdeman Mennonite Church, where she was a past church hostess and leader of the Bible Memory Program for children. She gave her all to her children and enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, Don, they had a booth at the Farmer’s Market, South Bend, for 33 years. She also enjoyed photography.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Holdeman Mennonite Church, 65723 CR 1, Wakarusa. Jay Irvin Peachey, age 73 of Goshen, IN, died at 4:04pm on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on May 21, 1948 in Bellville, PA to Stephen and Emma (Yoder) Peachey. On July 26, 1968 Jay married Eleanor “Ellie” Slabaugh. She preceded him in death after 50 plus years of marriage on February 12, 2019. Jay lived most of his married life in the Nappanee area was a member of Living Hope Christian Fellowship in Goshen, IN.
Mr. Peachey is survived by his two children: Stanton (Laura) Peachey of Goshen, IN and Rhea Peachey of Nappanee, IN; grandson Bailey Peachey; grandson Ty Peachey; granddaughter Claire Peachey; 3 sisters: Stella Grant, Betty (Maynard) Yoder and Susan Jean Peachey, all of Sarasota, FL and a brother Elrose (Marilyn) Peachey of Bremen, IN. Mr. Peachey was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Peachey.

Melody Ann Petersheim, 55, of York, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Melody was born on July 28, 1966, in Bronx, New York. She was the daughter of the late Esther Mae Petersheim. Glad Tiding (GT) Mennonite Church in the Bronx was a pivotal point in the life of Melody. It was during these early years that she came into her Christian faith. Melody was baptized on May 14, 1978, at the Wakefield Grace United Methodist Church in New York City.
Melody had worked as a Certified PA Evaluator for the County of Lancaster in the Property Assessment Office for 26 years. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, family, and close friends. Melody volunteered at the Water Street Rescue Mission. She enjoyed playing the Hand and Foot card game with friends.
Melody is survived by her daughter, Kayla Nwabueze of York; granddaughter, Esther Herbert; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn Murray and Dr. James G. Murray, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; niece and nephew, Imani J. Murray and James G. Murray III; brother, Eugene Davis of Lancaster, PA; aunt and uncle, Naomi and Alvin Lapp; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Petersheim.

Melvin J. Petersheim, 81, of Topeka, died at 7:33 am, on Thursday, July 22, [2021] at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. He was born on September 5, 1939, in LaGrange County, to Jacob and Sarah (Shrock) Petersheim. On December 25, 1958, he married Ida C. Hochstetler; she died July 8, 2014. Surviving are six sons, Levi (Barb) Petersheim, Christy (Eileen) Petersheim both of Shipshewana, Sam (Mary) Petersheim of Goshen, Lester (Esther) Petersheim, Elmer (Kaylene) Petersheim both of Shipshewana, Melvin Jr. Petersheim at home; four daughters, Rosanna (Galen) Miller, Elsie (Wilmer) Yoder both of Millersburg, Ruby (Marion) Miller of LaGrange, Dorothy Petersheim at home; 41 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orva (Edith) Petersheim of Topeka, Samuel (Susie) Petersheim of LaGrange; four sisters, Mary (Melvin) Hershberger of Topeka, Ida Mae Romero of Goshen, Ruby (Marvin) Graber of LaGrange, Katie (Perry) Mast of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two great-granddaughters, Amanda Lynn Petersheim, Melissa Otto; grandson-in-law, Daniel Yoder; brother, Elva Petersheim; two sisters, Elsie Kurtz, LeAnna Miller.
Melvin was a woodworker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Friday, July 23 and all day Saturday, July 24 at the Lynn Miller residence, 6765 W. 300 S., Topeka. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Sunday, July 25 also at the Lynn Miller residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Mervin Hershberger and the home ministers. Petersheim, Walter M.

Walter M. Petersheim, “Pet,” 93, Morgantown, passed away December 7, 2021. Born in Morgantown, he was the son of Samuel and Malinda Petersheim. He was the husband of his beloved wife, Lorraine (Heller) Petersheim, who preceded him in death in 1994.
A lifelong member of Conestoga Mennonite Church, he will be missed for his warm smiles, thoughtful words, servant heart, and committed prayerful faith walk. He marveled at God’s creation, tinkered with motors, loved music and poetry, and was fascinated by people's behavior and politics.
He was employed for many years as a truck driver for Gotwals Trucking of Oley, and Conestoga Carriers of Morgantown, a member of Buck Hollow Hunting Club and in later years, a committed volunteer for ReUzit Thrift Shoppe.
He is survived by his children: Arnold (Esther) of Elverson, Audrey (Nevin) Mast of Reading, Gregory (Krista) of Birdsboro, Janet (Scott) Caley of Morgantown, Gloria (late Dan) Hess of Mount Joy, Samuel (Kristen) of Elverson, Judy (Chad) Stauffer of Manheim, Shawn (Jessica) of Morgantown, 26 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Elizabeth Martin, Ephrata.
A “celebration of life” service will be held January 23, 2022 at Conestoga Mennonite Church. Visitation time with the family will be at 3:00pm with service following at 4:00pm. Hagerstown - 89, Wesley A. Petre of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at his home from colon cancer; aged 89 years, 8 months and 19 days. Born January 4, 1932, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Paul R. and Elizabeth (Horst) Petre. He was a member of Pinesburg Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife, Louise (Martin) Petre, 6 children, Mark R. Petre and wife Janet, David R. Petre and wife Sylvie, Lois E. Petre and husband Samuel, Ruth E. Weber and husband Ronald, W. Allen Petre and wife Karen and Mary E. Eby and husband Lauren, 33 grandchildren and 101 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 infant brother, 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson and 3 brothers, Merlin H. Petre and wife Elva, Calvert R. Petre and wife Ada and Lawrence N. Petre and wife Norma who survives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 2pm at Clear Spring Mennonite Church with the Pinesburg Ministries officiating. Interment will be in Pinesburg Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, September 17, 2021, from 1-3pm and 6-8pm at Clear Spring Mennonite Church and Saturday, September 18, 2021, one hour prior to the service. Drusilla Kauffman Plank, age 85, of Nappanee, IN, passed away at 7:30pm Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her residence after a short illness. She was born on November 17, 1935 in Nappanee to Menno and Nora (Yoder) Kauffman. On September 25, 1958 she married Levi H. Plank. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2020. Drusilla was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Mary Lou Plank, 82, of West Liberty, passed away at 5:35 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Green Hills Inn in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born to the late William and Mary Ellen (Taylor) Miller on December 27, 1938 in West Liberty, Ohio and was adopted by the late Chauncey G. and Pearl A. (Detwiler) Smucker.
On November 10, 1957, Mary Lou married Samuel Clifford Plank Jr. in West Liberty, Ohio and he survives, along with their five daughters, Pam (Doug) Webb of West Liberty, Sandy (Ed) Muth of Bellefontaine, Lisa (Kim) Fortney of Idaho, Jane (Todd) Steen of California, and Rosie (Brent) Nafziger of Indiana; 11 grandchildren, Cherie (Sig) dela Rama, Heidi (Andy) Myers, Jill (Eric) Foster, Cortney (Nick) Oakley, Jerrod Hostetler, Kevin (Brea) Fortney, Matt (Abbie) Fortney, Zac Steen, Jake Steen, Riley Nafziger, and Dylan Nafziger; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Donna (Lee) Plank and Ann Mast; a brother, Joe (Cheryl) Smucker; and a sister-in-law, Ebbie Smucker. In addition to her parents and adoptive parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Neil Hostetler, a brother, Robert Smucker; and a brother-in-law, Ellis Mast.
Besides raising five daughters, Mary Lou cooked many meals for farm hands, worked at Marie’s Candies, Huntington Bank, Design Harness, and Anderson Ford. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed puzzles, playing board games, reading, and especially spending time with her family. She had a keen interest in her grandchildren’s activities.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio at a later date.

Samuel Clifford Plank Jr., age 90, of West Liberty, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.
He was born June 21, 1931 in West Liberty, a son of the late Samuel Clarence and Golda Ellen (Yoder) Plank.
On November 10, 1957, Sam married the former Mary Lou Smucker in West Liberty, and she preceded him in death January 23, 2021. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Neil Hostetler; two sisters, Lydia Elizabeth “Libby” Geil and Sarah Jeanette Hostetler and a brother, Robert L. Plank.
Sam is survived by five daughters: Pam (Doug) Webb of West Liberty, Sandy (Ed) Muth of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Lisa (Kim) Fortney of Idaho, Jane (Todd) Steen of California, and Rosie (Brent) Nafziger of Indiana; 11 grandchildren: Cherie (Sig) dela Rama, Heidi (Andy) Myers, Jill (Eric) Foster, Cortney (Nick) Oakley, Jerrod Hostetler, Kevin (Brea) Fortney, Matt (Abbie) Fortney, Zac Steen, Jake Steen, Riley (Nate) Andrews, and Dylan Nafziger; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Kay King and many nieces and nephews.
Sam’s greatest accomplishment was his family of 5 little girls whom he taught to love God, love each other, work hard, and have fun. He had a strong work ethic and worked many jobs to provide for his family: dairy farmer, Grimes, WL-S school bus driver, Esch’s Meats, truck driver for Hobart/General Castings, and security guard at ELP Honda for Acrux/Genric from which he retired at age 87. He loved the outdoors being in his bobcat or mower, taking walks or just laying in a chair in the sun, enjoying God’s creation.
There are many stories of ornery Sam in his youth, some he owned up to and others he didn’t. A favorite verse was Psalm 25:7 NIV “Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.”
Sam was a lifetime member of the Bethel Mennonite Church. He was honored to be able to donate his body to The Ohio State University Anatomical Department.
Pastor Rebecca Kauffman will officiate a private memorial service.
Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty at a later date.

Pletcher, Robert William "Bob"
December 13, 1946 - August 5, 2021
Robert "Bob" William Pletcher, 74, of Middlebury, died unexpectedly at 9:30 pm on Thursday, August 5 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born on December 13, 1946, in Goshen, to John and Katherine (Frick) Pletcher. On February 17, 1968, in Goshen, he married Marlene Bender, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are daughter, Kellie (David) Stotts and son, Brian (Missy) Pletcher both of Goshen; four grandchildren, Jordan and Derek Stotts, Lauren and Drew Pletcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman Pletcher and sister, Betty (Bobby) Fuchs.
Bob drove truck for Petro Lane and retired from Mica Shop as a cabinet builder in 2017. He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Middlebury. Bob coached many of his kids sporting teams and he greatly enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and theatre. He loved maintaining his yard and just being outside listening to the birds. He also loved his dog Mindy.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 pm and 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 8 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, August 9 at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Phil Yoder. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Middlebury Food Pantry or Faith Mission.

Stanley E. Pletcher, 77 of New Paris, died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at his home. He was born August 27, 1944 in Elkhart to Ephraim and Berdene (Harter) Pletcher. On August 20, 1966 he married Linda S. (Wagler) Pletcher.
Surviving is his wife Linda of New Paris, daughter Nancy (Rodney) Showalter of Dayton, VA, 4 sons Robert (Rhonda) Pletcher of Bourbon, Randy (Lucile) Pletcher of Wakarusa, Phillip (Rebecca) Pletcher of Elkhart, Matthew (Julie) Pletcher of Goshen, 25 grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren, sister Karen Winklepleck of Sturgis, MI 3 brothers Roger (Lynn) Pletcher of Elkhart, Keith (Marion) Pletcher of Middlebury, Dennis Pletcher of Wakarusa and sister-in-law Susan Pletcher of Goshen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Pletcher and brothers-in-law Ken Winklepleck and Don Helmuth.
Stanley and Linda milked cows for 32 years. He was involved with the M.C.C. Meat Canning for 21 years and was a volunteer fireman with the Harrison Twp. Fire Department for 23 years.
Stanley was a charter member at the Cornerstone Mennonite Church and accepted Christ as his savior in his youth.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, October 19, 2021 and 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Cornerstone Mennonite Church, 24546 CR 44 Nappanee, IN 46550. There will also be 1 hour of visitation before a 10 am funeral service Thursday, October 21, 2021 also at the church. Home ministry will officiate, and burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family request memorial contributions be given to the M.C.C. Meat Canning.

Ronald Leroy Putt, age 84 of Webster, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 15, 1936 to Earl and Beulah Putt in Reading, PA. As a young man he worked alongside his only brother Linwood and his Dad in a landscaping business. At the age of 19 he began his search for Christ, and gave his heart to the Lord at the age of 20. He was baptized at the North Lebanon Mennonite Church.
He married on December 12, 1959 to Martha Burkholder. The first 2 years of married life were spent in Harrisburg, PA working at the Harrisburg State Hospital in C O service. He moved to Schuylkill County in 1972, and worked in farming and woodworking, making cedar chests and other furniture. He moved to Webster, KY in 2009 and worked for Esh's, selling utility sheds for a few years. One of his hobbies was growing beautiful flowers, plants and trees. He was a member of Breckinridge Mennonite Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Beulah Putt, his brother Linwood Putt and his granddaughter Gwendolyn Kurtz.
Ronald is survived Martha and their 9 children: Samuel Putt and his wife Betsy of Bakersfield, CA, Grace Putt of Webster, KY, Jonathan Putt and his wife Anna of Bainbridge, PA, Eunice, wife of Edwin Kurtz of Webster, KY, Rachel, wife of David Good of Schuylkill Haven, PA, Reuben Putt and his wife Rebecca of Leola, PA, John Anthony Putt of Lebanon, PA, Hannah, wife of Adam Robles of Hamburg, PA, Naomi, wife of Luke Martin of Philadelphia, NY
34 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren
a sister-in-law Barbara Putt of Shoemakersville, PA, 2 nieces, Amy Lovins of Shoemakersville, PA and Rhonda Hunsicker of Mohrsville, PA
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10. 2021 at 10 AM central time at Breckinridge Mennonite Church ,. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call Friday, 2-4 PM and 6 - 8 PM at the the Breckinridge Mennonite Church, Stephensport, KY.
