A. Elaine Martin, 83, of Landis Homes, formerly of Ephrata, passed away late Thursday night, October 19, 2023, at the WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Ephrata, she was a daughter of the late Ezra M. & Edith S. (Witmer) Martin.
Elaine worked for over 50 years as a live-in housekeeper for the Homsher family of Ephrata and Lebanon. She loved being part of the Homsher household and knew she was valued and appreciated. Elaine loved to bake, and her chocolate and black walnut cakes were almost as good as her mini pecan pies. She was crafty and enjoyed embroidery and cross stitch. Growing up in a big family, Elaine found great fun in the sibling banter; she loved her brothers and sisters. Somehow, she could remember everyone's birthday. Elaine liked jigsaw puzzles, flowers, and collecting dolls. She had a quiet, joyful presence with a streak of mischievous fun that was evident in her smiling eyes.
Elaine is survived by six siblings, Clifford Martin (Joyce) of Gordonville, Joanne Greaser (Robert) of Strasburg, Gerald Martin (Carolyn) of Ephrata, Stephen Martin (Betty) of Ephrata, Gilbert Martin (Sandy) of Elizabethtown, Calvin Martin (Karalee) of Iowa; sister-in-law, Mary Martin of Phila.; 18 nieces & nephews. Elaine was predeceased by brother, Nelson Martin.
Services will be held at Landis Homes, in the West Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz on Wed., Oct. 25th. The Viewing will be from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow in Indiantown Mennonite Cemetery, Ephrata.

Adalie Grace Martin, stillborn daughter of Thane and Regina Weaver Martin of Quarryville, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents: Edwin and Kathryn Martin Martin of Quarryville, Keith and Wilma Horst Weaver of Shippensburg, great-grandparents: Frances Nolt Martin of Quarryville, Edward and Arlene Sauder Weaver of Leola, and Ada* Mae Burkholder Horst of Ephrata.
There will be a graveside service TODAY, Monday, August 14 at Fairmount Mennonite Cemetery, 520 Little Britain Road N., Quarryville, at 1 p.m.

Alice Martin (nee Frey) of Floradale, formerly of St. Jacobs, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the age of 84.
Cherished wife of the late Cyrus R. Martin who led the way Home six days prior on May 28, 2023. Loving mother of Caroline and Ray Brubacher of Wallenstein, Stephen Martin and Michelle Lamontagne of Heidelberg, and Angela Martin of Elmira. Sadly missed by ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Edward (Eva, 2021) Frey, John (2022) and Seleda Frey, Peter and Doris Frey, Anna (Clayton, 2019) Weber, Albert and Naomi Frey, Mahlon and Isobel Frey, Ella and Amsey Weber, and Erla and Cleason Weber. Sister-in-law of Lydian R. Martin.
Predeceased by her parents Allan and Lydia Frey, stepmother Fannie (Martin) Frey, brother John Frey, and in-laws Eva Frey and Clayton Weber. Also predeceased by her husband's brothers and their wives; Daniel (Lydian), Leander (Minerva, Elvina), Joshua (Elizabeth), George (Veronica), Ira (Selema, Lena) Martin.
Visitation will take place on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 6 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 2 - 4 and 5 - 7 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira.
A family service will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the funeral home, followed by burial and public service at Martins Mennonite Meeting House, Waterloo.

Andrew D. Martin, 17, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, South Middleton Township, passed away on March 19, 2023, at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Newville, Pennsylvania , he was the son of Lester Z. and Lois M. (Martin) Martin. He was a member of Oakville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference), and was employed as a carpenter.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his siblings, Allison, Hannah, Lester Jr., Hadassah, Sharon, Jesse, and Terry all of Carlisle. Also surviving are his paternal grandparents Lester and Arlene Martin of Newville, Pennsylvania, and his maternal grandparents, Titus and Alma Martin of Denver, Pennsylvania.

Anna G. (Hahn) Martin, 84, of Reinholds, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023, at home.
She was born in East Earl to the late Amos H. and Sarah S. (Good) Hahn and was the wife of the late Warren W. Martin with whom she shared 64 years of marriage before he passed away January 3, 2022.
She was a member of Cocalico Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference).
Anna was a homemaker.

Anna G. Martin, 89, of New Holland, entered into rest on April 29, 2023, at her home. She was the wife of the late Levi W. Martin.
She was born August 19, 1933, in Earl Township to David M. and Annie N. (Good) Reiff. She was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband who died May 24, 2016; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel G. and Anna Reiff, Phares G. and Emma Reiff, Jacob G. and Katie Reiff; and one sister and brother-in-law, Lena G. and John B. Kurtz. Anna was the last of her immediate family.
Anna's nieces and nephews will remember her by her many deeds of kindness and her ready smile. They enjoyed seeing her quilt projects which included numerous plain-top quilts.

Died suddenly due to an accident on the farm on February 8, 2023 at the age of 20. Beloved son of Melvin W. and Naomi Martin of RR1 Atwood. Brother of Violet at home, Ben and Roselyn of RR4 Listowel, Louise, Norman, Vera, Irene, Julia all at home and one nephew Michael. Paternal grandparents Henry and Mary Martin of RR2 Elmira. Benjamin H. Martin, 65, of 1176 Peiffer Hill Road, Stevens, PA passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Annie M. Hoover Martin. Born in Denver, he was the son of Lydia M. Hoover Martin of Denver and the late Rufus Z. Martin.
Benjamin was a farmer and a member of the Reidenbach Mennonite Church.
Surviving besides his wife and mother are six sons, Daniel and Phares Martin of Denver. David husband of Edna Hoover Martin, Benjamin Martin and Jonathan Martin of KY, and Melvin Martin of Stevens; Lydiann and Marlene Martin both of Denver; eight brothers, Harvey husband of Irene Martin, Jesse husband of Esther Martin, Marcus Martin, Ammon Martin, Rufus Martin, and Willis Martin all of Denver, Norman Martin and Jonas Martin both of KY; and two sisters, Marin wife of Eli Hoover of Denver, and Ella wife of Alvin Hoover of Ephrata. He was preceded in death by a sister Lena Martin.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, at 1:00 P.M. at the Reidenbach Mennonite Church with Rufus Martin officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Carl worked as a self-employed farmer.

Dear father of Brian (Delphine) Martin of Drayton, Murrel (Leona) Martin of Alma, Brenda (Dennis) Lichty of Moorefield, Kent (Rosanne) Martin of Moorefield, and Donna (Leon) Kraemer of New Liskeard. Fondly remembered by 26 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother Alva (Alma) Martin and sisters-in-law Seleda Martin, Loreen Martin, and Alice Frey.

Clarence W. Martin, 82, of New Holland, died Thursday, December 7, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. He was married for 59 years to Mary Jane (Good) Martin.
Clarence was born in Lititz, the son of the late Weaver B. and Mary Z. (Weaver) Martin.
He was a very ambitious worker. He was employed by Chester Burkholder Builders, then drove truck for Burkholder Quarries for four years and then became a paver operator for 36 years for Burkholder Paving and New Enterprise.
Clarence always enjoyed the out of doors, hunting deer, bear, elk, and other game. He also enjoyed woodworking and making wooden toys.
He is also survived by two sons: Daryl R. Martin and Duane R. married to Anita Martin, five grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, and three siblings: Mary Lou Sensenig, Jerry Martin and Vernon Martin.
Preceding him in death was a brother Harold Martin.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Bowmanville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Rd., East Earl, PA 17519 with Pastors Tony Witmer and Larry Weber officiating. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. October 9, 1929 - February 19, 2023
Edith Marie Martin, age 93, went to be with the Lord, February 19, 2023 at Fairmount Home, Ephrata, PA.
She was born in East Earl Township October 9, 1929 to the late Paul E. and Annie (Sauder) Martin.
She was a lifetime member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community where she taught children's Sunday School and Bible School classes. She also was a part of the sewing circle.
Cooking was a big part of Edith's life. First for food service at Philhaven, and then for a children's home in Northern Tier, Pa. After which she cooked for migrant children in Florida. She served in Africa for 2, 3-year terms as a missionary. She was the cook at the Mara Hills Rosalyn Academy School for missionary children. After returning, she went for education for dietitian and then worked as dietitian at Landis Homes and Tel Hai Rest Home.
Edith is survived by 4 sisters and 4 brothers: Ruth Esch, wife of the late George Esch, and Emma Martin both of Fairmount Home; Mary, wife of Robert Martin, Lebanon; a sister-in-law, Fannie Martin, wife of the late Paul S. Martin; Carl Martin, husband of Grace (Zimmerman), East Earl; John Martin, husband of Lillian (Esch), Lancaster; Velma wife of Walter Clair Martin, New Holland; Earl Martin husband of Verna (Martin), New Holland; Richard Martin, husband of Sue (Sherer) Lititz. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister Annie May Martin and a brother Paul S. Martin, Virginia.
Edith had 35 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews and also many great, great nieces and nephews plus 3 great, great, great, niece and nephews.
Edith was a person of few words, but her kind heart spoke volumes. Her last years she was totally blind.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, February 25, at 2:00 PM at the Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, PA. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Edna S. Musser Martin, 91, of 1307 Apple St., Ephrata, PA, passed away on December 23, 2023, at Lincoln Christian Home. She was born in Lancaster County, on February 28, 1932 to the late Isaac H. and Lena N. Musser.
She was the loving wife of James Z. Martin, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage until his passing on December 8, 2009.
Edna was a member of Mt. Zion Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference).
She is survived by 11 children: Loretta, wife of Glen Horst, of Narvon, Lena Mae, wife of Edwin Burkholder, of East Earl, Glenn, husband of Luella (Huber) Martin, of Lebanon, Mary Ann Rutt of Bernville, Willis, husband of Edna (Zeiset) Martin, of Ephrata, Linda, wife of Carl Martin, of Denver, James, husband of Sandra (Rutt) Martin, of Ephrata, Larry, husband of Darla (Sensenig) Martin, of Denver, Carolyn, wife of Lamar Martin, of Denver, Jeremiah, husband of Jennifer (Stevens) Martin, of Manheim, John, husband of Amy (Martin) Martin, of Denver.
She is also survived by 49 grandchildren, 147 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She is also survived by 5 siblings: sisters, Anna (Musser) High of Denver, Mary (Musser) wife of Lloyd High of Lititz, and Esther (Musser) wife of Lloyd Oberholzer of Richland; and brothers, Isaac, husband of Mary Jane (Zimmerman) Musser of Narvon, Roman, husband of Kathryn (Weaver) Musser of Lititz. Also a sister-in-law, Irene (Zimmerman) Musser, wife of the late Rufus Musser of Ephrata.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Clarence Horst and Nevin Rutt, and four brothers, Christian, David, Rufus, and John, and one sister Eva Oberholtzer.

Edna W. Martin, 81, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Fairmount Homes where she had resided for the past month. She was the wife of the late Miles S. Martin who died in 2017. Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Martin S. and Esther B. Weaver Shirk.
Edna was a homemaker and had also worked in the kitchen at Horst Auction for 20 years. She was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are 4 sons, Louis S. husband of Mabel Martin of Canandaigua, NY, Mervin S. Martin of Ephrata, Albert S. husband of Lois Ann Martin of Canandaigua, NY, and Ralph S. Martin of Ephrata; a daughter, Minerva S. Martin of Ephrata; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-granddchildren; a brother, Eli W. husband of Anna Shirk of Mifflinburg; 3 sisters, Mary W. Leid of Martindale, Esther W. Shirk of Martindale, and Martha W. wife of J. David Martin of Shippensburg; and 2 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Shirk of Shiloh, OH and Arlene Shirk of Beavertown.

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Maurice S. Martin (2014). Dear mother of Pauline (Harvey) Metzger of Elora, Delphine (Brian) Martin of Drayton, Helen Martin of Elmira, the late Steven (Pauline) Martin of Drayton, Clifford (Kristine) Martin of Drayton, and Kevin (Arlene) Martin of Elora.
Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren. Sister of Naomi (the late Eden) Martin, Nora (Melvin) Martin, and Alice Brubacher.
Predeceased by her parents Sidney and Alice (Shantz) Brubacher, sisters Verna (Edgar) Martin, Ruby (Melvin) Martin, and Erma Brubacher, and brother Lester (Lucinda) Brubacher.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. and on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 2-6 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A family service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the funeral home, then to Maple View Mennonite Meeting House, Alma for burial and public service.

Ellen Marie (Ulrich) Martin, 79, of Tampico, peacefully passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at her home.
Ellen was born August 4, 1943 in Thomas, IL, to Elmer and Lydia Ulrich. She married John A. Martin on January 20, 1961.
She is survived by her husband and six children, two sons, Lowell of Auburn, KY and Robert of Tampico; four daughters, June (Irvin Kropf), Charlene (Lonnie Hostetler), Donita (Donald Headings) all of Tampico, and Janet (Duane Headings) of Bellevue, IA; one brother, Leonard Ulrich of Metamora, IL; 32 grandchildren; and over 40 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, one daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and one great grandson.
Visitation is Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Fairfield Amish Mennonite School. The funeral will be Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Fairfield Amish Mennonite Church.

Ellis M. Martin, 77, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. He was born in Lititz to the late Ellis K. and Lena (Good) Martin and was the husband of the late Erma J. (Sensenig) Martin, who passed away in 2012.
He was a member of New Haven Mennonite Church and was a faithful servant to the Lord. Ellis was very hard working and drove truck for the family business, E.K. Martin. He will be remembered by family and friends for his positive and friendly personality.
Ellis is survived by six children, Rosalie, wife of James Good, Regina, wife of the late Rodney Martin, Thomas, husband of Sheri Martin, John, husband of Janelle Martin, Coleen, wife of Jason Brubaker, Benjamin, husband of Corrie Martin; 29 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Lester, husband of Elsie Martin, Arlene, wife of Jere Martin, Alma, wife of Arthur Musser, Mable, wife of the late John Martin, Ira, husband of the late Susan Martin, Ray, husband of Marie Martin and Wilmer, husband of Lucille Martin.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Norman, husband of Minerva Martin; a sister, Mary, wife of George Hurst and a grandson, Collin Martin.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at New Haven Mennonite Church, 230 Crest Road, Lititz. Elsie W. Martin, 100, of Fairmount Homes, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was born in Lancaster County to the late Noah and Leah (Wenger) Auker and was the wife of the late Paul M. Martin, who passed away in 1994.
She was a member of Heritage Mennonite Church, Stevens. Elsie had a servant's heart and was a gentle and caring woman. She volunteered at Fairmount Homes for over 30 years. In addition to being a homemaker, Elsie had worked at Spring Glen Foods. She loved to quilt, enjoyed marble games, and putting puzzles together. Elsie enjoyed spending time in her garden with her flowers and feeding the birds.
Elsie is survived by three daughters, Arlene Long, Mabel Miller, both of Wellsboro, Joyce, wife of Harold Martin of Lititz; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Edna Martin.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruthann Myers; three brothers, Norman Auker, Willis Auker, Paul Auker; two sisters, Lydia Linberg and Alice Brubacher.

April 2, 1936 - March 13, 2023
Elton Boyer Martin, age 86, of Sarasota, Florida passed away peacefully on, March 13, 2023, surrounded by family. Elton was born April 2, 1936 in Fairfield, PA where he grew up on an apple orchard and attended the Fairfield Mennonite Church.
In 1958, Elton received a B.S. in Education from Millersville State University. Elton was a conscientious objector and so did his alternative 1W service through the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) where he was placed in Newfoundland, Canada from 1958-1960. He taught math there and met Fern Elizabeth Cender who was teaching in elementary schools through voluntary service with MCC.
Elton then taught in Titusville, FL where he also got a pilot's license. Next, he attended LSU and completed a Masters of Mathematics in 1962. Also In 1962, Elton and Fern married in Gibson City, IL. They moved to Pekin, IL where Elton taught math at the local high school. In 1964 they moved to Woodridge, IL and then to Downers Grove, IL where they stayed for 51 years. Elton taught mathematics at Downers Grove North High School for 28 years and was active at Lombard Mennonite Church, on the Pastoral Team, and led the new sanctuary construction project.
He continued to serve communities after his retirement, and he and his wife Fern did winter service stints in Immokalee, FL and then were snowbirds for several years in Sarasota, FL.
Throughout his life he loved God, his wife, family, friends, numbers, and the Florida sun. He noticed patterns in the world that demonstrated the majesty of God. Elton was loved for his hearty laugh, open mindedness, and humor.
Elton is survived by his loving wife, Fern Cender Martin; children: Vincent (Rachel) Martin of Gastonia, NC; Jevon Martin of Bolingrook, IL; Wynne (Jeff) Bader, of Sarasota, FL; Stuart (Barb) Martin of Downers Grove, IL; Rochelle (Glenn) Klaassen of Chicago, IL.; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters; Joanne Caskey, Susanne Bechtel, and Laura Lee Beck; and brother Jay Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Warren Martin and Cora Boyer Martin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to MCC.

Elva K. Martin, 89, of West Willow Rest Home, Willow Street, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Born in Lititz on November 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Raymond and Emily (Mann) Keens. She was the wife of the late Elmer G. Martin, Jr. who died in 1995. Elva was a member of Conestoga Drive Mennonite Church, Lancaster.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Jane (William) Hess of McIntosh, MN, a son-in-law, Rick Shupp of Bourbon, IN; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Violet Barr, Electa Mohler, Janet Sharp, a brother, Marlin (Emma) Keens; 2 sisters-in-law, Anna Ruth Keens and Lois J. Martin. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Velma Jean Shupp, a grandson, Lee Hess, a brother, Samuel Keens and a sister, Sophia (Donald) Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held at Conestoga Drive Mennonite Church, 62 North Conestoga Drive, Lancaster on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM. January 4, 1927 - October 9, 2023
Emma Irene Martin, 96, went to be with her Lord, October 9, 2023, at Fairmount Home, Ephrata. She was born in East Earl Twp. on January 4, 1927, to the late Paul E. and Annie (Sauder) Martin.
She was a member of the Ephrata Community Church (ECC) where she served in different capacities and had started a women's luncheon there.
Emma graduated from Goshen College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1955.
She had a real passion for teaching children which she did diligently for many years, many of them at Manheim Christian Day School, where she eventually became the school principal and then her last four years, she taught at Living Word Academy in Leola. After retiring, she tutored children in her home until she was 90 years old, took part in the splendor of Easter at Sight and Sound, and went with the tour buses to tour the countryside of the Amish.
Emma is survived by 3 sisters and 4 brothers: Ruth Esch, wife of the late George Esch, Mary wife of Robert Martin, a sister-in-law Fannie Martin wife of the late Paul S. Martin, Carl Martin husband of Grace (Zimmerman), John Martin husband of Lillian (Esch), Velma wife of Walter Clair Martin, Earl Martin husband of Verna (Martin), Richard Martin husband of Sue (Sherer).
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by and infant sister Annie May Martin, a sister Edith Martin, and a brother Paul S. Martin.
Emma was a prayer warrior for her 35 nieces and nephews and her many great nieces and nephews and great-great plus great-great-great-nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Rd., New Holland with Joe Stahl officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery.

Emory D. Martin, age 90, of Orrville OH was born May 1, 1932 at Dalton OH to the late John R and Edith (Wenger) Martin. He passed away peacefully at his home, April 9, 2023, surrounded by family.
He attended Pokeberry and Dalton Schools.
On November 27, 1952, he married Alta W. (Martin) Martin at New Holland, PA.
Emory made the choice to serve the Lord in his youth. He was a faithful member of Valley View Mennonite Church until his death.
He was a self-employed dairy farmer, operating the family farm all his life. He enjoyed reading and working in the woods. He was deeply interested in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by Alta, his wife of 70 years. Children: Harlan (Lillian) Martin of Orrville, Lorraine (Arthur) Amstutz of Orrville, Alta Mae (Warren) Amstutz of Edinburgh IN, Jerry (Rose) Martin of Sheldon WI, Ruth Ann (Glenn) Weaver of Nappanee IN, Lamar (Sandra) Martin of Orrville and Joyce (Maynard) Sensenig of Conrath WI, 53 grandchildren and 177 great-grandchildren. One sister, Wilma (Raymond) Schrock, Monterey TN, one brother, David (Mary Ann) Martin, Dalton OH.

Esther H. (Good) Martin, 89, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brecknock Township. to the late Howard Z. and Lizzie (Horning) Good and was the wife of the late Raymond B. Martin, who passed away in 2021.
She was a member of Metzler's Mennonite Church, Ephrata, where she taught Sunday school. Esther was a homemaker who was known for her cooking and enjoyed baking. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and other family. Esther was very active in her sewing circle and made many quilts and layette bundles.
Esther is survived by two daughters, Sharon R. Long of Arkansas, Christine, wife of Mervin Zook of Oregon; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two brothers, H. Arthur, husband of Kay Good of Fairmount Homes, Park H., husband of LuAnne Good of Brickerville; five sisters, Katherine, wife of Ray Martin of New Holland, Susie, wife of Leroy Gehman of Adamstown, Harriet, wife of Marlin Eberly of Denver, Helen, wife of Earl Gehman of Bowmansville, and Phoebe, wife of Earl Zimmerman of Lebanon.
In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold H. Good, Charles E. Good, Sanford H. Good, Ira M. Good; eight sisters, Florence Good, who passed at birth, Charity Heller, Martha Stoner, Rachel Hoover, Climena Hostetter, Verna Martin, Sarah Shultz, Dorothy Martin, and three brothers-in-law, Warren Martin, Lester Shultz and Clarence Stoner.

Grace R. (Weaver) Martin, 88, of Ephrata, passed away on September 14, 2023 as a resident of Fairmount Homes. Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Chester H. and Mattie (Martin) Weaver. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer E. Martin, with whom she shared sixty-five years of marriage until the time of his passing on August 24, 2020.
She was a member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community. In her early years, she had worked for Martin's Quarry and later worked part time at Fairmount Homes for nineteen years as a secretary. For numerous years, she was a volunteer at the New Holland Re-Uzit. She enjoyed doing acts of kindness for others and spending time with her family.
Grace is survived by her children; Clair, husband of Sandy (Leaman) Martin of Narvon, Sylvia, wife of Sheldon Swartzentruber of Greenwood, DE and Fred, husband of Marilyn (King) Martin of New Holland. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings; Paul Weaver, Melvin Weaver, Edith Newswanger, Mary Ella Weaver, Lena Hoover, Chester Weaver, Alvin Weaver, John Weaver and Esther Good Youd.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, PA 17519. Harold W. Martin, 87, of Fairmount Homes, left this life to be with his Lord on November 9, 2023. Born in Blue Ball, he was the son of the late H. Roy and Emma (Witmer) Martin. He was the loving husband of the late Twila W. (Wissler) Martin, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage until the time of her passing on November 29, 2021. He was a member of Green Terrace Mennonite Church, where he had served as pastor for 20 years. He was employed as a sewing machine mechanic at Hemmerich Industries in Denver for 30 years and later worked for Ace Hardware for eight years until his retirement. He loved music, singing and making music with his family and friends.
Harold is survived by his children: Kenneth husband of Rita (Martin) Martin of Ephrata, Dawn wife of Donald Martin of Denver, Keith husband of Deb (Lehman) Martin of Denver and Duane husband of Carla (Hollinger) Martin of Mohnton, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and his brother, Nelson husband of Anna Mae (Metzler) Martin.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by brothers Lloyd Martin (Arlene Brubaker) and Ernest Martin (Nancy Zimmerman).

Dear father of Gloria and Amos of Tara, Willard and Shirley of Elmira, Ron and Rosie of Elmira, Steven and Doris of Moorefield, Mike and Marlene of Drayton, and Terry of Elmira. Sadly missed by 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Survived by sister Mary Ann, brother David and Viola, sisters-in-law Margaret and Seleda. Henry is remembered by brothers-in-law Alvin and Mary, Clayton and Alice, Melvin and Erla and sister-in-law Lena and Eldon.

Ira M. Martin, 75, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, peacefully at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Ephrata to the late Ellis K. and Lena G. Martin. He was the loving husband of the late Susan (Weaver) Martin, who passed away in 2017.
Ira was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church, where he served in various roles over the years.
He was a farmer and worked alongside his father on the family farm. After farming, he was a truck driver for Animal Health International until his health left him unable to continue. Ira was a friend to all he met and will be remembered for his friendliness and caring heart. His humbleness was evident throughout his life.
Ira is survived by three children, Melanie Martin of Akron, Marvin, husband of Kendra Martin of Stevens, Melinda, wife of the late Steven Hoover of Ephrata; six grandchildren, Kara, wife of Jason Martin, Clay, husband of Hannah Martin, Grant Martin, Michael, Lincoln, and Natalie Hoover; one great-grandchild, Violet Martin; six siblings, Lester, husband of Elsie Martin, Arlene, wife of Jere Martin, Alma, wife of Arthur Musser, Mabel, wife of the late John Martin, Ray, wife of Marie Martin and Wilmer, husband of Lucille Martin.

Irene H. (Sensenig) Martin, 77, of Ephrata, PA passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at home, surrounded by family. She was born near Farmersville, Lancaster County, PA, to the late Freeland D. and Frances M. (Hoover) Sensenig on September 23, 1945. She was married on March 27, 1965 to the late John W. Martin, Jr, enjoying more than 38 years together, before his death on June 3, 2003. They raised their family near Millersville, PA.
She is survived by six sons, Rodney S., husband of Judith (Wadel) Martin of Bridgewater, VA; J. Michael, husband of Marcia (McLaughlin) Martin of Lebanon, PA; David L., husband of Gloria (Landis) Martin of Millersville, PA; Jere S., husband of Melody (Weaver) Martin of Pittsgrove, NJ; Keith D., husband of Erin (Sams) Martin of Pine Grove, PA; and Curtis R., husband of Emily (Garman) Martin of Troy, MI; 32 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Leon, husband of Ethel (Kurtz) Sensenig of Lititz, PA; and a sister Noreen, wife of Marlin Zimmerman of Newmanstown, PA.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, and a brother-in-law Melvin Martin.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Blue Rock Mennonite Church.

Irene (Sauder) Hoover Martin, 95, of Akron, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was born in East Earl to the late Ervie and Alice (Sensenig) Sauder and was the wife of the late Elmer H. Martin.
Irene was a member of Washington Avenue Bible Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as her church family and her many friends at the Lititz Senior Center. She loved completing jigsaw puzzles, word search books and baking.
Irene is survived by four children, Kenneth, companion of Kathy Trump of Hamburg, Elmer Jr., husband of Dianne (Zimmerman) Martin of Leesport, Wilmer, husband of Vickie L. (Cummings) Hoover of Leola, Donna, wife of Stephen Weiss of Oley; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur, husband of Elaine Sauder of Ephrata; a sister, Anna, wife of the late Norman Wenger of Ephrata.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Hoover; three brothers, Raymond, Paul and Lester Sauder, and two sisters, Esther Rutt and Alice Sauder.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 6 to 8 PM, at Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth Street, Akron. An additional viewing will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 10 to 11 AM, at Washington Avenue Bible Church, 149 Washington Avenue, Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Jay Quirk officiating. Janet Marie Martin, 82, of Mercersburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Chambersburg, PA.
Born August 22, 1940, in Waynesboro, PA, she was a daughter of the late Leroy D. Sr. and Helen A. Cordell Horst.
Janet graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1958 and later married Benjamin L. Martin in 1961. She worked as a secretary for the St. Thomas High School and also Franklin Mennonite Conference Center. She also worked as a cashier for Wagner’s Grocery. Janet was very active in teaching Sunday School to the children and adults at Mercersburg Mennonite Church. For many years, Janet and Benjamin sang in the group, The King’s Troubadours.
Janet was a member of the Mercersburg Mennonite Church.
Janet is survived by her son, Larry E. (Diane) Martin, a daughter, Linda A. (Paul) Boyer, 3 grandchildren, Erin Martin, Sean Martin, Alec Boyer, and a brother, Leroy Horst Jr.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin L. Martin (2020).

Jarius S. Martin, 13, of Port Trevorton, entered into rest, Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 29, 2010, in Lewisburg, a son of Everett S. and Emilie Brubaker (Stauffer) Martin who survive.
Jarius attended Stauffer Mennonite Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers at home, Wynnlee S. Martin and Lavon S. Martin; paternal grandparents, Edwin Z. and Miriam M. Martin of Port Trevorton; maternal grandparents, Levi M. and Elise F. Stauffer of Liverpool; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at the family home, 64 Summer Breeze Lane, Port Trevorton, where the family service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, with further services beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Stauffer Mennonite Church (McKees District), Oriental Road and Old Trail, Liverpool, with the local church ministry officiating.

Jeremiah M. Martin, 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Fairmount Homes. He was the husband of the late Naomi Martin. They shared 60 years of marriage before her passing in 2017.
Born in Lebanon County on February 1, 1936, Jeremiah was the son of the late Paul S. and Lizzie (Mellinger) Martin.
Jeremiah was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church. He worked at Weaver's Quality Eggs in New Holland, Bareville Furniture in Leola, and Weaver Markets in Adamstown.
Jeremiah is survived by four children: Joyce Shenk, wife of Glen, of Leola, Donald, husband of Dawn (Martin) of Denver, Barry, husband of Sandy (Hurst) of Akron, and Robert of Ephrata; seven grandchildren: Kevin Shenk, husband of Donna, of Leola, Kelly Stauffer, wife of Gerald, of Shoemakersville, Nicole Diffenderfer, wife of Jon, of Akron, Tim Martin, husband of Rachel, of Lititz, Brooke Maurer, wife of Logan, of Ephrata, Cody Redcay, of Denver, Katie Myers, wife of Joel, of Richland; and 10 great-grandchildren: Claire and Caleb Shenk, Hannah, Leah, and Emma Martin, Henley Diffenderfer, Naomi and Lucy Myers, Abigail Stauffer, and Hazel Maurer.
Also surviving are two siblings: Evelyn Ritchie, wife of John, of Bethel and Clarence Martin of Lancaster.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jeremiah was preceded in death by three brothers: Paul Jr., Leroy, and Raymond, and one sister, Emma Hess.

Jerry Elmer Martin, 46, of Stockton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, from injuries sustained in an accident.
He was born on June 11, 1976, the son of Ivan and Elva Martin of Barnett, Missouri. On September 16, 1999, he married Ruth Martin from Wakarusa, Indiana.
Jerry Elmer was a member of County Line Mennonite Church in El Dorado Springs, Missouri. He was self employed as a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth and eight children: Mary Ellen and husband Brian Kilmer, Ivan Ray Martin both of Versailles, MO, Elva Mae, Rebekah Faye, Anna Ruth, Susie Anne, Kevin Lee, and Jerry Lynn all of the home. He is also survived by his mother, Elva Martin; three brothers: J Elvin and Mary of Barnett, MO, Edward and Gladys of Versailles, MO, and James Ivan and Minerva of El Dorado Springs, MO; four sisters: Elsa and Abram Martin of Tipton, MO, Wilma and James Zimmerman of Charles City, IA, Anna Ruth and Ernest Zimmerman of Barnett, MO, and Susan and Steven Martin of Fortuna, MO; his mother-in-law, Erma Martin of Wakarusa IN; and many other family members and friends.

Martin, Jonathan Ray
April 13, 1974 - July 25, 2023
Jonathan Ray Martin, age 49, of Wakarusa, IN, died and went to be with the Lord at 6:35pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his home in the arms of his loving wife Susannah after a short battle with stomach cancer. He was born April 13, 1974 at home to Dale and Mable Martin and was the 10th child of their family of 12.
He grew up helping on the farm, and started doing auto body work in the shop there. He farmed with his younger brother Keith until 2008 and loved Keith’s children dearly. He then built a shop and moved to his current residence in 2009. He was a much loved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He was a good listener and had a quick wit and firm loyalty which made him a great friend. His many neighbors, family, friends and customers would often stop by his shop just to chat and see what truck he was transforming next and ask for his advice. His fascination with powerful engines was a well known hobby. He struggled with depression and it affected his life.
At age 43 he took a risk and wrote a letter to Susannah Ramer, an elementary school teacher, which brought much excitement to the whole community. They married on June 2, 2018 and enjoyed many travels and adventures together as well as the quiet joys of everyday life. On October 12, 2019 their precious son Kyle was born and brought them much delight and fulfillment.
He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Susannah(Ramer) Martin, and 3 ½ yr. old son Kyle; his mother, Mable Martin of Wakarusa; 4 brothers: Rodney (Laura)Martin of Goshen, Burnett (Karla)Martin of Bremen, Earl (Angie) Martin of Prescott, MI, Keith (Emily) Martin of Au Gres, MI; 7 sisters: Sheryl (David)Wenger of Marlette, MI, Donna (Jason) Hoover of Goshen, Berdena (Marlin)Hoover of Elkhart, Karen (Dorvin) Shaum of Nappanee, Jane(Marlin) Shaum of Akron, Glenna(Jeryl)Martin of Ashland, WI, Rosanne (Lonnie)Martin of Elkhart; 81 nieces and nephews, and 139 great nieces and nephews.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Dale Martin, and mother-in-law Pat Ramer. 2 nephews:Justin Hoover, and Daniel Shaum; 3 great nieces and nephews: Sherianna Wenger, Trevor Hoover, and Jesse Martin.
He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle. His life made an impact on all who knew him. He leaves a large hole in his family, church and community. He sent his sins beforehand to the judgement, and was ready to meet his Lord and Creator.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2023 and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 1st all at the Ramer Mennonite Youth Center, 24717 County Road 44, Nappanee, IN. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 2nd at Cornerstone Mennonite Church, Nappanee. Pastor Dalton Weaver will officiate. Katie Z. Martin, 85, formerly of Stone Hill Rd., Denver entered into rest on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023 at the Cocalico Christian Home.
A member of the Muddy Creek Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference), she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Mattie Zimmerman Martin of E. Earl Twp. Katie worked for Victor Weaver (now Tyson Foods) for 35 years, then was a homemaker.
Surviving are: a sister, Mattie wife of the late Ezra Burkholder, Versailles, MO; a sister-in-law, Hettie Martin, Fortuna, MO; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: siblings, Fannie Burkholder (late Levi), Emma Hoover (late Frank), Menno (late Ada), William (late Arlene), John.

Keith Edwin Martin, 55, of Chambersburg, passed away suddenly as a result of a farming accident on August 31, 2023. Born December 13, 1967 in Norristown, PA, he was the son of Glenn E. Martin and Phyllis M. Stewart Martin. Keith was a 1986 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. A hardworking dairy farmer, Keith enjoyed planting crops and harvest was his favorite time of the year. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Other than farming, his interests included hunting, fishing and enjoying ice cream. Keith was a member of Cedar Street Mennonite Church and was currently attending Grand Point Church in Chambersburg.
Aside from his parents, Keith is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tressa M. Thomas Martin, whom he married on August 3, 1991; four children, Conrad Lance Martin (wife Kathryn) of Chambersburg, Alyssa Rae Horst (husband Mitchell) of Greencastle, Danae Marie Betz (husband Drew) of Baltimore, MD, and Brock Anderson Martin of Chambersburg. He was the beloved "Pops" of seven grandchildren, Brayden, Braxton, Jace, and Elliana Martin; Mason and Addie Horst; and Raelynn Betz. Pops and Lolli were looking forward to the arrival of two more grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Carleen Martin (husband Jerry) of Ephrata, and Anne Brubaker (husband Dean) of Bethel.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Grand Point Church, 2230 Grand Point Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Lawrence Metzler will officiate. Martin, Kenneth Albert

Kenneth Albert Martin, 70, of Harrisonburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 16, 2023, with family by his side after living the last year and a half with melanoma cancer that had spread to his lungs and eventually his brain.
Ken was born in Kitchener, Ontario, on July 8, 1952, to the late Delton and Vera Martin. He is survived by his wife, Arleta (Stutzman) and his two sisters, Janice (Cal) Cressman (Ontario) and Isobel (Mahlon) Frey (Ontario). He was a proud father to, and survived by, Katrina (Eliot) Swartz, Nathan (Adrianne Herzog) Martin, and Alicia (Benjamin) Beitzel. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Mona, Hattie, Annie, Liam, Piper, Finnley, and Hugo.
Ken graduated from Hesston and Goshen Colleges. He married Arleta in 1975 and they moved to Akron, Pa., where they worked and volunteered with Mennonite Central Committee. They lived in Haiti from 1985-1988 with MCC. Upon returning to Akron, he started his profession with Lehman Insurance Agency and Everence as a financial consultant and retired from a career that he loved in 2018.
Ken will be remembered by those who loved him for his twinkling eyes, his sense of humor, and love of potato chips. Ken loved bike riding with his wife and friends and enjoyed traveling, hiking, and camping. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed reading and playing with them. He also loved his sweet cat, Thelma.
Ken’s family would like to thank Sentara Hospice, especially nurse April, for their care and support over the past several months. They would also like to thank his oncologist at UVA, Dr. Gaughan, and her amazing team.

Lester E. Martin passed away at Ephrata Manor on September 2, 2023, at the age of 90. He was the husband of the late Arlene M. (Horning) Martin, who died May 1, 2021.
Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Clarence and Edna (Hollinger) Martin.
Lester started farming in New Holland, then in Clay Township. He also drove a milk truck in his early years. He later drove truck for Earl Martin. From 1996 to 2005, he and Arlene served in Mobile, AL and he worked for Choice Books. After moving back to Pennsylvania, he delivered parts for Deere Country, Adamstown, until he was 88.
For many years he was part of the Stony Brook Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting and spending time there with his family. He was a member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community and particularly enjoyed the Sunday School class he was a part of.
Lester is survived by his children, Leonard Martin (Sandy Cole), Elkview, WV, LuAnn (Jay) Sensenig, Leesport, Louise (Naaman) Beiler, Gulf Breeze, FL, Merle Martin (Christine Gottshall), Benton, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and two sisters: Pauline Burkholder and Arlene Peiffer.
He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Martin and a sister Elva Newswanger.
After a private graveside service, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Rd., East Earl, PA 17519. Lester E. Martin of Manheim, PA, born in Lewisburg, PA on October 14, 1981, died May 25, 2023* at the age of 41 years, 7 months, 11 days. He was a Minister of the Gospel at both Conestoga Drive and Stauffers Mennonite Churches. He was the son of Leon H. and Judy I. (Lauver) Martin and the loving husband of Christine L. (Eby) Martin.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Geoffrey, Eric, and Arthur, and two daughters: Julianne and Elizabeth (Ellie), all at home; five brothers: Laverne (Phoebe), Arcadia, FL; Lamar (Nila), Romulus, NY; Lee (Tabitha), Emory, TX; Linford (Marlene), New Columbia, PA; Luke (Dawn), Hammond, IL; one sister: Linda (Nathan) Burkholder; Tamaqua, PA.

Lester R. Martin, 87, a resident of Fairmount Homes, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Stauffer Martin who died in 2020. Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Noah and Tillie Gehman Martin. Lester had been self-employed in the drywall business. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Denver. His interests included nature, outdoors, hunting, hiking and woodworking. Lester was known as a person who immersed himself in Bible Study.
Surviving are two daughters, Glenda J. wife of Wayne L. Martin of Ronks, and Donna J. wife of Brian E. Young of Reinholds; four granddaughters, Stephanie L. wife of Davin Orlowski, Kristin R. wife of Jeffrey Baird, Heather wife of Timothy Spraut and Kristen Lott; and twelve great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughters; Sharon, Karen and Brenda and seven siblings.

Lois J. Martin, 95, passed away at Landis Homes of Lititz on Saturday, November 18, 2023. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late (Bishop) Elmer G. & Ada Kreider Martin. She was a member of Neffsville Mennonite Church. She graduated from Eastern Mennonite College and then the University of Pennsylvania, with the high honor of the Florence Nightingale Award. She spent a year as the school nurse at Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, VA. She worked at various hospitals, including Kansas City, MO and Phoenix, AZ. She spent many years as a Private Duty nurse and ended her 50-year nursing career as an RN with the last 17 years at Hospice of Lancaster County. She was part of the Martin family that owned the former Martin Meats of Bridgeport, PA. She loved flying and flew for 10 years as a private pilot. She traveled to many countries including Israel, Europe, the Netherlands and Jamaica. She spent time in Haiti and the Dominican Republic on Medical Group Mission tours.
She was a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Gertrude (Elam) Hollinger, Anna Elizabeth (John) Slaymaker, Miriam (James) Yoder, Eunice (Lloyd) Keller and Elmer G. (Elva) Martin, Jr.

Lowell B. Martin, age 91 of Nappanee, IN, passed away at 3:36 pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at his residence. He was born on February 27, 1932 in Nappanee to Ezra and Lydia (Bauman) Martin. Lowell married Mary Alice Shaum on October 4, 1953. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2022 after 68 years of marriage.
Lowell lived his whole life in the Nappanee area was a member of Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. Lowell worked in northern Indiana and southern Michigan as a hay hauler for over 55 years.
He is survived by 3 sons: Lavon Martin, Ronald (Rita) Martin, and Elverne (Lauretta) Martin, all of Nappanee; 17 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; 53 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Carl Martin of Goshen, IN Robert (Elsie) Martin of Snover, MI, and Dean (Marciel) Martin of Nappanee; and 1 sister, Mable Martin of Goshen.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson Trevor Hoover; brothers: Leonard, Clare, and Roy Martin; and sisters: Lorene Ramer, Infant Erma Martin, Doris Weaver, and Nila Martin.
Visitation will be held from 1-4 and 6-8 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Ramer Mennonite Youth Center (24647 CR 44, Nappanee, IN 46550). A funeral service will begin at 10 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church with home ministries of the church officiating. Luke F. Martin, 84, of 191 Martindale Rd., Ephrata, died Thursday, December 14, 2023, at his home. His wife, Emma H. (Hoover) Martin, survives. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late John J. and Edna Mae (Fox) Martin.
Luke had been a farmer and was a member of Reidenbach Mennonite Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children: David husband of Irene (Martin) Martin, Leitchfield, KY, Edward husband of Ruth (Hoover) Martin, Leitchfield, KY, John Jacob husband of Marianna (Martin) Martin, Ephrata, Vernon husband of Alda (Hoover) Martin, Leitchfield, KY, Edna wife of Mervin Hoover, Stevens, Luke Ray Martin, Ephrata, Elaine Martin, Ephrata, Alan husband of Regina (Hoover) Martin, Ephrata, 19 grandchildren, four sister, Emma wife of Allen Hoover, East Earl, Alta wife of Aden Martin, Milton, Anna wife of Jonas Hoover, New Holland, Vera wife of the late Titus Martin, Watsontown, and a sister-in-law Eva wife of the late Paul Martin, New Holland.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul F. Martin.

Margaret S. Martin, 95, passed away at Landis Homes, Saturday, August 19, 2023.
Born in Ephrata, a daughter of the late Aaron G. Martin and Maggie (Sauder) Martin.
Margaret was a 1946 graduate of Ephrata High School. After graduation she was a telephone operator at D & E Telephone for 6 years. She then was the owner of Martin's Fabrics from 1952 - 1977 in downtown Ephrata. Her last employment was at Ephrata Community Hospital from 1977 to 2010 as a switchboard operator.
She was a lifelong member at Ephrata Mennonite Church, now Alive Church, where she taught children's Sunday school classes and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed music and sang in different choirs. She had a lovely soprano voice.
Margaret is survived by a brother, J. Elvin, husband of Laverne Martin and a sister, Lois J., wife of Leon Zimmerman. She was a special aunt to three nieces and three nephews, whom she dearly loved.
The family would like to thank the staff at Landis Homes for their kind and loving care given to Margaret these last days of her life.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Thursday, November 16, 2023 in her 90th year. Melinda Martin of Wallenstein, ON (formerly of Linwood) was predeceased by her husband Leander B. Martin (2019). They lived in matrimony for 63 years.
Dear mother of Paul and Sharon of Elmira, Lester and Kathy of Lloydminster, AB, Alice of Wallenstein, Mary of Linwood, James of Elmira, Oscar and Janet of Southampton, and Gerald and Valerie of Port Elgin. Fondly remembered by 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandson.
Sister of Elvina Gingrich of Winterbourne, Solomon and Esther Bowman of St. Jacobs, sister-in-law of Owen Martin of Floradale, Reta (Mrs. Ira) Martin of Wallenstein, Elmeda and Edwin Sittler of Linwood, Ivan and Salome Martin of Wallenstein, Fern (formerly Mrs. Tilman Martin) and Melvin Weber of Linwood.

Nila Elaine Martin, age 76 of Elkhart, IN, died at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at her son’s residence. Nila was born on April 18, 1946 in Nappanee, IN to Ezra and Lydia (Martin) Martin. She lived her entire life in the Nappanee/Wakarusa, IN area and on August 23, 1964 she married Lloyd Martin in Nappanee. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2016.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church.
She is survived by 4 sons: Todd (Valerie) Martin of Claypool, IN, Lonnie (Norine) Martin of Mentone, IN, DeLynn (Lavonne) Martin of Elkhart, and Edward (Janet) Martin of Whittemore, MI; 27 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: Lowell Martin of Nappanee, Carl Martin of Goshen, Robert (Elsie) Martin of Snover, MI, and Dean (Marciel) Martin of Nappanee; and 1 sister, Mable Martin of Goshen.

Noah S. Martin, 81, of 305 W. Farmersville Road, Leola, passed away on Sunday morning, April 16, 2023, at home. He was in hospice care.
He was the husband of Minerva B. (Sensenig) Martin with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
He was born in Earl Township, on November 1, 1941, to the late Noah K. and Emma (Shirk) Martin.
He was a retired farmer and a member of New Holland Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).
In addition to his wife, Noah is survived five sons and two daughters, Janet Martin of Denver, Harlan Martin of Wilmington, DE, Leon, husband of Anna Mary (Martin) Martin of Elma, IA, Mervin, husband of Alma (Eberly) Martin of Riceville, IA, Mary Ann, wife of Lloyd Hoover, Jr. of Leola, Noah, Jr., husband of Marian (Zimmerman) Martin of Elma, IA, and Cleason, husband of Kristal (Hoover) Martin of Osage, IA. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters, Harvey S. Martin of New Holland, Ivan S. Martin of Newville, Emma, wife of Abram Zimmerman of Millmont, Lizzie Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY, Ada, wife of Daniel Zimmerman of Barnett, MO, Mary Hoover of Shippensburg, and Lena Zimmerman of Newville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant daughters; a son, Alvin Martin, and five grandchildren.

He was the husband of the late Anna S. Wenger Martin who died in 1984. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Weaver and Mary Zimmerman Martin.
Paul was a farmer and a member of the Stauffer Mennonite Church.

Pauline Martin, 67, New Holland, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, after a 4-month cancer journey. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, friend & foster mother. She enjoyed working at Fairmount Home Farm Crest as a Dining Server.
Three daughters & three sons-in-law survive: Audrey J. Martin, New Holland, Ann L. & Ervin Hoover, Morgantown, Cheryl K. & Jason Widrick, East Earl, John Weaver, Blue Ball, and 8 beloved grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Eli & Anna Horst.
She was proceeded in death by her husband John Z. Martin, Jr. in 2005, daughter Annette R. Weaver in 2015 and her parents Eli & Anna Horst.
Six surviving siblings: Lorraine & Lloyd High, Myerstown, Leonard & Marian Horst, Ephrata, Anna Ruth Horst, Leola, Melvin & Marie Horst, Lititz, Joanne & Titus Gehman, Newville, and Doris & Lamar Martin, Leola, and nieces and nephews.

Raymond M. Martin, 88, of Lititz, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, February 6, 2023. Born in Chester County, he was the son of the late Weaver and Frances Martin. He was the loving husband of Alice (Good) Martin, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.
Raymond was a devoted Mennonite and had over 36 years of Pastoral Ministry in both Florida and Virginia.
In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by his sons Gerald Martin (wife, Jeanette), Philip Martin (wife, Luann), and Randy Martin (wife, Vicki); as well as 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 6 siblings and one grandson.
A Memorial Service will take place at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church, 333 Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Friday, February 17, 2023. A Visitation will take place at 10:00 AM and Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will be provided at the church following the service.

July 24, 1940 - January 5, 2023
Raymond M. "Ray" Martin, 82, of New Holland, died Thursday, January 5, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elva W. (Eberly) Martin.
Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Edgar M. and Mary G. (Martin) Martin.
In 1972, Ray founded Martin's Auto Service. His son Larry joined him in partnership in 1984 which continues today as Keystone Quality Motors.
Ray was a member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community where he taught Sunday school for many years.
Ray was involved in many aspects of his community.
He was a life member of Garden Spot Fire Rescue where he volunteered as engineer, driver, and trustee since 1967. In 2003, Ray travelled with Cross Links, Inc., to train firefighters in Moldova when the retired Liberty New Holland ladder fire truck was donated and shipped to the Moldavian community. Ray served as Earl Township Supervisor for sixteen years. He was past president of the Lancaster County Automobile Association. He also served as a volunteer with CrossNet Ministries.
An avid outdoorsman, Ray was a member and past president of Penn Dutch Sportsman's Club, was a field director for the U.S. Sportsman's Alliance, served as president of the PA Federation of Sportsman's Clubs and inducted in the PFSC hall of fame in 2001. Ray served as a volunteer Hunter-Education Instructor for the PA Game Commission for twenty-eight years and enthusiastically certified thousands of first-time hunters. He also served on the Grassland FFA Advisory Council and on Governor Tom Ridge's Advisory Council.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Larry married to Elva (Hoover) Martin, New Holland, Brian married to Shirley (Nolt) Martin, Narvon, and Lonnie married to Shelia (Gongo) Martin, Denver, seven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three siblings: Arlene Weaver, Lydia Kurtz, and Willis Martin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Melvin Martin, Clarence Martin, Edgar Martin Jr., a sister Laura Weaver, and great-grandson Jayce Horst.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday, January 11 from 5-8 PM and at 9:00 AM prior to the service on Thursday. Reuben H. Martin, 61, of Middleburg, entered into rest Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 4, 1962, in Ephrata, Lancaster County, a son of the late Ammon W. Martin and Mary N. (Hoover) Martin.
Reuben had worked for K&L Feed Mill, Selinsgrove, and Empire Kosher of Mifflintown.
Surviving are five brothers and spouses, Nelson and Rebecca Martin of Wisconsin, Clarence and Edith Martin of Iowa, Alvin and Ella Martin of New York, Stephen and Rhoda Martin of Wisconsin, Daniel and Naomi Martin of Middleburg; seven sisters and spouses, Ella Mae and Norman Martin of Lewisburg, Lydia Ann Martin of Mifflinburg, Elva and Amos Brubacker of Middleburg, Arlene and John David Hoover of Iowa, Erla and John Isaac Hoover of Kentucky, Erma Martin of Middleburg, Anna Mary and Esra Zimmerman of Winfield. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the home of Amos Brubacker, 20250 Troxelville Road, Middleburg. Robert G. Martin, 89, of Ephrata passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Fairmount Homes. Born in Union Grove, he was the son of the late Benjamin & Mabel (Sensenig) Martin. He was the loving husband of the late Jean (Hauck) Martin with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Bob was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, New Holland, where he was one of the founding members. He enjoyed spending time with his family, studying God's word and hunting and fishing.
He was a partner at Terre Hill Silo Co. with his brothers and cousins. He also spent years in sales and management.
He is survived by his children, Daniel, husband of Elaine (Howard) of New Holland, Diane, wife of Craig Hickey of Lititz, Connie, wife of Joe Kepiro of Lititz, and Patti, wife Roger Garber of Manheim. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and 3 sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 11:00 AM at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Rd., New Holland, PA with Pastor Dave Horst officiating. Interment will be private in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.

Martin, Ruth Eleanor Hartzler
October 14, 1934 - June 16, 2023
Ruth Eleanor Hartzler Martin, 88, took her last breath, Friday, June 16, 2023 at Landis Homes. She was born at home in Wakarusa, IN, the oldest child and daughter of the late Roy and Katie (Lichty) Hartzler.
Ruth graduated from Wakarusa High School and then Goshen College with a BSN in 1956. She spent three years in Pakis/Taju, Java, Indonesia, with the Mennonite Central Committee from 1959 to 1962, travelling around the world by ship. She worked in nursing - ob-gyn, psychiatry and nursing administration for over 50 years.
She and Jay W. Martin married in August 1968 in CA. They met while both were working at Kings View Hospital, Reedley, CA. She became director of in-service education in 1968 and director of nursing in 1969 at Centre Community Hospital, Bellefonte, now Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College. She completed her MSN in nursing administration at Penn State University in 1979. In 1988, she became director of nursing at Philhaven Hospital, Lebanon PA. She also worked at Inglis House in Philadelphia and part-time at Landis Homes prior to her retirement.
She was involved in the National Organization of Nurse Executives and the Pennsylvania Chapter during her nursing administration career. She served as secretary of the PA Chapter for one term. Throughout her nursing career and into retirement, she was an active member of the Mennonite Nurses Association and the subsequent Mennonite Health Association, serving on the board and as president of each organization. She was always involved in her local Mennonite Church and became the first female chair of University Mennonite Church in State College. She served on the pastoral team at Community Mennonite Church of Lancaster. In addition to her local involvements, she served 12 years on the Board of Mennonite Mutual Aid, now Everence.
Ruth was a very caring person and worked to understand people who felt they were different and were marginalized by society. She was the first straight person to serve on the Brethren/Mennonite Council (BMC) for LGBTQ+ Interests. Friendly and outgoing, she had a gift for making people comfortable. She and Jay enjoyed traveling together and meeting new people. They have been to Europe and to Indonesia and many places in the U.S. She and Jay also enjoyed cooking together and entertaining friends in their home.
She is survived by two sisters, Freda (Paul) Friesen (CA) and Isabelle (John) Blough (KS); two brothers, David (Mary) Hartzler (TN) and Dwight (Margaret) Hartzler (FL), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary "Marty" Hartzler, and a brother, Phil Hartzler.

Ruth K. Martin formerly of Lititz, PA, age 68, went peacefully to be with Jesus on December 16, 2023. Born in Lebanon, PA on July 25, 1955 to the late Reuben O. Martin and the late Minnie (Kurtz) (Martin) Horning. She was a member of Servants of Christ Anabaptist Fellowship. Ruth had been one of the first employees at Dutch-Way Farm Market in Myerstown, PA. She also found fulfillment by serving others as a volunteer at Christian Light Publications and taught school for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed her job as a home care CNA nurse at Brethren Village for 18 years until the time of her illness in December 2018. One of her favorite Bible verses was "As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness." Psalms 17:15.
She was a loving sister to: Irene (Sam) Martin, Bethel, PA; Raymond (Martha Groff) Martin, Myerstown, PA; Ella Mae (Robert) Martin, Willistown, SC; Eva (David) Witmer, Myerstown, PA; Carolyn (Elvin) Sensenig, Stevens, PA; Rhoda (James) Ramer, Myerstown, PA; Nelson (Elaine Faus) Martin, Newmanstown, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.

Husband of Mary Martin, father of Cleon and Betty Martin, James and Elsie Martin, Amsey and Martha Martin, Floyd and Anna Martin, Delton and Erma Martin, Aaron and Naomi Martin, Anna and Jonas Martin, Betty and Aaron Weber, Esther and Harold Sauder, Laverne and Mary Martin, Elmer and Verna Martin, and Elvin and Judith Martin. Remembered by 76 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clayton; twin sisters Ada Martin (late Joseph), and Adeline Martin (Paul); and sisters-in-law Esther Martin, and Irene Martin.
Predeceased by one stillborn daughter, his parents Sidney and Annie Martin, brothers Emmanuel (Esther) and Aaron (Anna), and sisters Ermina (Abner Martin), Priscilla Martin, Mary Ann (Isaiah Martin), Emma and Susannah (in infancy), and Annie Martin; and two grandchildren.

Sophia Brubaker Martin, 81, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at her home.
Sophia was born Aug. 20, 1941, in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Jacob David and Reba Showalter Brubaker.
In addition to her employment as a secretary/receptionist in numerous professional, business and ministry office settings, Sophia played a vital role ministering alongside her husband in various churches they served, most recently Cornerstone Church and Ministries International.
She had an amazing ability to create space where everyone who entered knew they were heard, seen and valued. She was noted for her contagious smile and, “So good to see you!” greeting. She was unique in her ability to love people as they were while at the same time speaking truthfully and honestly. Most left a time with Sophia encouraged to pursue a better version of themselves, better than when they arrived. Even as her time on earth was coming to an end, she continued to provide space for those she loved and who loved her to experience what she provided all her life.
On July 14, 1961, she married Gerald Edward Martin, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Jeffrey Martin and wife, Beth, of Cumberland, Va., Bonita Showalter and husband, Ray, of Broadway, Va., Kenrick Martin and wife, Annette, of Harrisonburg, Va.; siblings, Helen Kurtz and husband, Ed, of Morgantown, Pa.; Doris Heatwole and her late husband, Charles, of Bridgewater, Va.; Lois Lahman and husband, Milford, of Lacombe, La.; sister-in-law, Miriam Brubaker of Oler, S.C.; and grandchildren, Tyler Martin, Christina Martin, Kari Martin, Tanya Collie and husband, Jacob and her children, Nathaniel, Noah, Hannah, Lilyanne, and Ethan, Abigail Marrah and husband, Jacob and her children, Ari, Malachi, and Asher, Zachary Martin, Mariah Martin, Nerel Voigt and husband, Jack, and Olivia Martin.
In addition to her parents, Sophia was preceded in death by her siblings, Howard Brubaker, James Brubaker and wife, Nona; granddaughter, Katelyn Showalter; and her stepmother, Mary Deputy Brubaker.

Suetta M. Martin, 40, of Argos, Indiana died July 7, 2023 after a short battle of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1982 in Elkhart, Indiana to Ammon M. and Edna W. Martin. She married Lawrence Martin of Argos, Indiana, son of John M. and Ina Martin.
She attended Southside Wisler Mennonite Church.
She enjoyed taking care of her family and tending her flowerbeds.
Survived by her husband Lawrence and 5 children, Shawn Dwayne 18, Krista Diane 16, Kaylee Danae 11, twins Shandon Drew and Shyla Danelle 4, all at home.
Also surviving are her Parents Ammon and Edna Martin, Goshen. Sisters Vada (Elvin) Nolt, Elkhart; Berdena (Jonathan) Ramer, Nappanee; her twin sister Annetta (Virgil) Burkholder, Rochester; and Stella (Tim) Frey, New Paris. Brothers Verlin (Edith) Martin, Tippecanoe; twins Galen (Luann) Martin and Gerald (Mary) Martin and Marcus Martin, all of Goshen. 35 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by niece Rosanne and great niece Aleah.

Titus Z. Martin, 82, of Milheim Road, Watsontown, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Born June 2, 1941, in New Holland, he was the son of the late Amos and Mary (Zimmerman) Martin. He married Vera F. Martin, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Vera, he is survived by 8 sons: Henry M. Martin and his wife Lucille, Melvin M. Martin and his wife Suetta, Titus M. Martin and his wife Edith, Leroy M. Martin and his wife Mary, Luke M. Martin and his wife Minerva, Amos M. Martin and his wife Louise, David M. Martin and his wife Alma, and Stephen M. Martin and his wife Anna Mae, all of Watsontown; 5 daughters: Bertha M. Martin and her husband Allen, Marian M. Hoover and her husband James, Susie M. Hoover and her husband Martin, all of Milton, Martha M. Hoover and her husband Raymond, of Watsontown; and Ruth M. Hoover and her husband Jerry, of Turbotville; 71 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers; and 6 sisters.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Annie M. Hoover.
There will be a viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 25, at their home, 540 Milheim Road, Watsontown. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 12:30 p.m. at their home, and will continue at 1 p.m. at the Limestone Mennonite Church, 281 Laidacker Road, Milton, with Bishop John M. Reiff, officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Mennonite Cemetery.

Martin, Walter S.
February 13, 1926 - October 28, 2023
Walter S. Martin, 97, of New Holland, died Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Garden Spot Village. He was preceded in death by his wife, Buelah S. (Smoker) Martin in 2021. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Noah Z. and Susanna W. (Sensenig) Martin.
Raised in a farming community, Walter was a farm worker, then worked as a welder, becoming the purchasing agent for Smoker Elevator, then a buyer for Ford New Holland, now CNH.
A member of Sandy Hill Community Church, he sang with the Gap Male Chorus for 40 years and served on the Pequea Valley School Board for 13 years. He enjoyed bowling and being with people.
Walter will be remembered for his simple faithfulness to God, family, work and friendships. His life revolved around these priorities. Walter and Buelah were married for 74 years and in their last years together, when her care required separation, Walter continued to visit her three times a day.
Surviving are four children: Grace Irish, Delaware; Richard married to Karen, New Holland; Barry married to Lee Nettke-Martin, Lancaster; Chris married to Louise, Ohio; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four siblings: Chester Martin, Indiana; Catherine Longenecker and Irene Neff, both of Lititz and Susan Gotway of Texas.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law Joe Irish and six siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Noon at Garden Spot Village Garden Towers Chapel. Interment will be private at Sandy Hill Community Church Cemetery. Delbert J. Mast, 86, of LaGrange, (district: 7), died at 6:30 am, on Sunday, February 19 [2023] at his residence. He was born on November 27, 1936, in LaGrange County, to John M. and Fannie J. (Weaver) Mast. On November 8, 1962, in LaGrange, he married Anna Marie Bontrager, she died September 20, 2019.
Surviving are two sons, Freeman (Martha) Mast of LaGrange, Levi (Louie) Mast of Shipshewana; two daughters, Mary Alice (Lyle) Mast of Shipshewana, Edna Sue (Andy) Mast of LaGrange; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jonas (Rosie) Mast, David (Lucy) Mast both of Sarasota, FL, Levi Mast of Fort Lupton, CO, Ervin (Rose) Mast of LaGrange; two sisters, Edna (Ernie) Yoder of Shipshewana, Katie (Crist) Fry of Meadville, PA; brother-in-law, Johnnie (Irene) Troyer of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a stillborn son, son Ernest Mast; two grandchildren; two sisters, Lydia Troyer, Mary Troyer.
Delbert was a retired farmer and a Senior Bishop in the Old Order Amish Church.

Fannie Mast, 60, of 5779 S. Honeytown Rd., Wooster, OH passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at her home.
She was born on Jan. 27, 1963 in Wayne County to Demas E. and Ella J. (Raber) Mast. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving is her mother, Ella Mast of La Jara, CO; siblings, Levi (Esther) Mast of Wooster, Lena Mast of Wooster, John Mast of La Jara, CO, and Eli and Amanda Mast of Alamosa, CO; nephews and nieces, Andy, Wayne (Ruth) Alma, Owen, Martha, Erma, Eli, Linda, Susan, Edna and Marie Mast and great-nieces, Linda and Suann Mast.
She was preceded in death by her father, Demas E. Mast and a niece, Lena Mast.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 9:00 a.m. at the Levi D. Mast residence, 5405 S. Honeytown Rd., Wooster with Bishop Andy Hershberger officiating. Henry J. Mast, 68, of Shipshewana, (district:44), formerly of Holmes Co., OH, died at 7:07 pm on Sunday, December 31, [2023] at his residence. He was born on August 16, 1955, in Millersburg, OH, to John E. and Ida (Weaver) Mast. On May 4, 2007, in Middlebury he married Edna Mae Miller, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are brother, Jake (Mary) Mast of Millersburg, OH; sister, Barb Schlabach of Millersburg, OH; brother-in-law, John A.M. Miller of Dundee, OH; three nephews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Fannie Miller, Mary Mast, and Verna Mast; brother-in-law, Henry Schlabach.
Henry was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Juanita Mast, 98, of Rome City, (district: 22-1), died at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, June 1, at her residence. She was born on January 7, 1925, in LaGrange County, to Levi J. and Susie (Schrock) Christner. On November 3, 1949, in LaGrange County, she married Perry A. Mast, he died December 24, 2008.
Surviving are son, Wilbur (Marlene) Mast of Goshen; daughter, Frieda (Daniel) Bontrager of Rome City; eight grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; brother, Merle (Edna) Christner of Shipshewana; sister, Anna Mosley of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two infant daughters, Anna Elaine Mast, and Sarah Sue Mast, and an infant son; granddaughter, Kristina Yoder; three brothers, Kenneth, Mervin, and Freeman Christner; sister, Frieda Miller.
Juanita was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Friday, June 2 and all-day Saturday, June 3 at the family residence, 1070 West Northport Rd., Rome City. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Sunday, June 4 also at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Daniel O. Lambright and the home ministers. Mast, Larry L.
October 22, 1943 - February 12, 2023
Larry L. Mast, age 79, of Orrville, formerly of Dalton, peacefully passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Larry was born on October 22, 1943, in Millersburg, Ohio, to Dan S. and Mary (Miller) and graduated from Dalton High School in 1961. He married Kathy (Brown) Mast on August 20, 1966, in Kidron. They were blessed with 57 years of loving life together.
He retired in 2000 from United Parcel Service after 31 years of respected service and safe driving.
Larry was an active member of Salem Mennonite Church in Kidron, where he made several service trips with SWAP. Before his illness he also enjoyed volunteering for special projects with People to People Ministries. He loved outdoor activities, especially time spent fishing and golfing with family and friends. After retirement he discovered his love for cooking and baking, particularly his mother's famous angel food cake. Traveling was a highlight of his life, with family beach vacations being his favorite.
He was a proud father and father-in-law of Brent (Francesca) Mast, and Kristen (David) Gannon. His life became even more beautiful with the arrival of his grandchildren, Addison, Kael, and Kaden Gannon, and Cormac Mast. He was a dedicated Papa, always attending their sporting and musical events, and passing down his love of euchre. He will be remembered for his quiet faith, kindness, generosity, his clean cars, and his sharp sense of style.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, he is survived by his siblings, Marion (Norma) Mast, Maxine (Mark) Hershberger, and Marlene (Todd) Sommer; his brothers-in-law, Tom and Jim (Patty) Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Willis, and his in-laws, George and Ellen Brown.
Friends may call on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Salem Mennonite Church, 3363 Zuercher Road, Dalton, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Salem Mennonite Church, with Pastor Kevin Himes officiating. A private family burial will be held at Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery.

LaVern Ray Mast, 55, of Middlebury, (district: 62-3), died at 12:30 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Eskenazi Hospital, Indianapolis, after suffering a stroke following an accident several weeks prior. He was born on November 19, 1967, in Lafayette, to Ora W. and Barbara Ann (Glick) Mast. On November 9, 1994, in Middlebury, he married Molly Ann Miller, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are four sons, Aaron Lee, LaVon Lydell, Delbert LaWayne, and Jason LaVern (Special Friend, Lisa Miller) Mast, all at home; three daughters, Mari Anne, Carlene Mae, and Sharon Kay Mast, all at home; five sisters, Ida Fern (Dean) Miller of Middlebury, Wanita Faye (LaVern) Borkholder of Topeka, Leona Kay (Vernon) Fry of Millersburg, SuAnn (David) Mast of LaGrange, and Mattie Lorene (Myron) Hochstetler of Nappanee; two brothers, Delbert DeVon (Waneta) Mast of Millersburg and Loren Jay (Susan) Mast of Middlebury.
LaVern was a woodworker at Crystal Valley Hardwoods and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Lydia Mast, age 86, of Ronks, PA, formerly of Hutchinson, KS, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 12, 2023. She married Eli R. Mast on September 10, 1964. He passed away on April 29, 2022, after 57 years of marriage. She was born in Nappanee, IN, daughter of the late Peter A. & Sylvia Bontrager Borkholder. She was a member of Weavertown Mennonite Church. She enjoyed making crafts, cards and scrapbooks. Her delight was watching sunsets and sunrises.
Surviving is a son Amos E. husband of Mary Ann Stoltzfus Mast of Narvon, 4 grandsons: Caleb husband of Lisa King Mast, Bradley Mast, Verlon husband of Kyla Hostetler Mast, Kendall Mast, 6 great grandchildren, 6 siblings: Amos husband of Betty Borkholder of New Paris, IN, Katie and Elizabeth Borkholder, Rosa Slabaugh wife of the late Elmer Slabaugh all of Nappanee, IN, Alma wife of Norman Miller of Kalona, IA, Mary wife of Perry Jay Mast of Weatherford, IN.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Ada wife of Henry Mast, Anna Mae wife of Allen Mullet both of Indiana.
Funeral service will take place at the Weavertown Mennonite Church, 2900 Church Road, Bird In Hand, PA, on Wednesday, March 15th at 10 a.m. There will be a viewing at the church on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
Mast, Sara Ann Nofziger
January 24, 1962 - August 5, 2023
Sara Ann Mast, age 61, of Dalton, Ohio passed away August 5, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer.
Sara was born on January 24, 1962 in Wauseon, OH to Mary Ellen (Grieser) and the late Marvin Nofziger. She was raised on a farm in Stryker, OH and graduated from Stryker High School in 1980. She attended Goshen College from 1980-1981, where she met her husband of 40 years, Ed Mast. She finished her Associate’s Degree in Business at Northwest State Community College in the spring of 1983.
Sara and Ed were married on June 18, 1983. They lived in Sarasota, FL for a few short years before moving back to Wayne County, OH. Over the years Sara has worked as a bookkeeper for Mast Appliance Service, in customer service for Lehman’s Hardware, and most recently in the billing department for P. Graham Dunn.
Sara was an active member at Smithville Mennonite Church. Over the years she helped teach Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, was a youth group leader, and served as an elder.
Sara is survived by her husband Ed; her four sons: Joel (Holly) of Wooster; Nate (Ashley) of Marshallville; Andrew (Jocelyn) of Wooster; and Aaron (Hannah) of Wooster. She is also survived by her mother Mary Ellen Nofziger of Archbold; brother Joel (Carol) Nofziger of Toledo; sister Kristina Nofziger Miller of Berne, IN; father-in-law Elvin Mast; sister-in-law Cheryl Mast of Sturgis, MI; brother-in-law Dave (Connie) Mast of Wooster; sister-in-law Kathy (Mark) Gerber of Orrville; as well as 7 grandchildren with one on the way; and many nephews and nieces.
Sara was preceded in death by her father Marvin Nofziger, mother-in-law Lucille Mast, and step-mother-in-law Emma Mast.
Sara loved spending time with family and friends. Some of her hobbies included reading books, fishing with her husband, and playing cards. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, especially by spoiling them with sweets before sending them home.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Smithville Mennonite Church, 6097 Akron Road, Smithville, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm, as well as, one hour prior to the service.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, at Smithville Mennonite Church, with Pastor Todd Martin officiating. Burial will take place at the Smithville Mennonite Cemetery in Smithville.

Susie A. Mast, 75 years, 2 months, 28 days of Sullivan, Illinois passed away at 11:15 AM on Monday, July 31, 2023, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the HCK West Building, one mile south of Arthur, Illinois. Bishop Philip Farmwald will officiate. Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday, August 1, 2023 and any time after 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 all at the HCK West Building. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Susie was born on May 3, 1948, in Douglas County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Fred J. and Anna M. (Schrock) Mast.
She is survived by three siblings, Lydia Ann Miller and her husband Melvin of Tuscola, IL, Ervin Mast and his wife Edith of Arthur, IL, and Pauline Schrock and her husband Ivan of Sullivan, IL, three brothers-in-law, Leon Helmuth of Windsor, MO, Firman Hershberger and his wife Mary of Kalona, IA, and Abraham Yoder of Milton, IA, one sister-in-law, Vera Mast of Sarasota, FL, 36 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Mast, four sisters, Emma Gingerich and her husband Emery, Barbara Yoder, Sovilla Hershberger, and Mary Helmuth, one brother, Joe Mast, and seven nieces and nephews.
Susie was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Wayne E. Mast 46, of 7996 TR 565, Holmesville, passed away unexpectedly at the Pomerene Hospital on Monday, February 13, 2023 following a stroke. He was born on July 24, 1976 to Ervin E. and Edna (Yoder) Mast. On September 17, 1998 he married Amanda Miller who survives. Wayne was self-employed as a logger and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Lonnie Yoder), LeAnna, Benjamin and David Alan all of the home; brothers and sisters, Mary Ann (Bill) Yoder of Apple Creek, Daniel (Edna) Mast of Millersburg, Dennis (Sarah) Mast of Apple Creek, Ivan (Doreen) Mast of Shipshewana, IN, Firman (Tina) Mast of Fredericksburg, Leroy (Lizzie Ann) Mast of Holmesville, Esther (Al Jr.) Swartzentruber of Dundee, Ervin Jr. (Mary) Mast of Millersburg, Wilma (Brian) Weaver of Navarre, Leona (Jonathan) Weaver of Apple Creek; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel (Lydia) Miller of Loudonville, John Miller of Wyoming, Paul (Ruth) Miller of Millersburg and Ella (Paul) Kauffman of Holmesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Abe and Anna Miller.
Funeral services will be held at the home on Thursday, February 16, at 9:00 AM with Bishop Crist Wengerd officiating. Burial will follow in the Wengerd Cemetery. Friends may call at the home after 2 PM on Tuesday and any time on Wednesday. Mellinger, Joshua Adam

Joshua Adam Mellinger, 29, of Warwick Township, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Lancaster General Hospital following a hard battle with Pneumonia and other infections. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of Brenda Kay (Keller) Connelly and the late Cordell Lee Mellinger.
Joshua had attended Warwick High School before graduating from Hempfield High School. He worked as a care provider, taking care of his grandmother and father. In his free time, he enjoyed drawing, playing video games, and watching anime. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed helping those around him. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and for a large part of his life attended Millport Mennonite Church.
Joshua is survived by his mother, Brenda Connelly, his older sister Laura Stinson and her husband Lars, his sister Sarah Mellinger, his brothers Zachary Mellinger and Benjamin Mellinger, and his nephew, Erik Stinson.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service which will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1136 Sunwood Lane, Lancaster, PA 17601.
Meyer, Geneva B. Ulrich
January 18, 1927 - December 26, 2023
Geneva B. Meyer, age 96, of Orrville, formerly of Wooster, died Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Maple Terrace in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Geneva was born on January 18, 1927, in Roanoke, Illinois, to the late Emanuel and Mathilda (Schertz) Ulrich, graduated from Roanoke (Illinois) High School in 1945 and attended Goshen College. She married Vernon Meyer on July 31, 1949, in Roanoke. Vernon died on May 21, 2018.
She worked as a teacher in a one room country school house in Illinois prior to marriage and later taught with her husband in Pulaski, OH. After moving to Wooster, she was a stay-at-home mother until her youngest child started school. She then worked as a nurses aid and eventually as the Social Service Director for Horn Nursing Home in Wooster for 19 years, retiring in 1988.
Geneva was a member of Smithville Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, and was a member of the Mennonite Women. She enjoyed bird watching, quilting and sewing crafts including stuffed animals. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, with out of state grandchildren spending weeks of their summer vacations with her. She often shared her faith by reaching out and loving those who needed a friend.
Surviving are five children, Rebecca (Dale) Geiser of Wooster, James (Barbara) Meyer of St. Petersburg, FL, Kathryn (Michael) McKernan of Williamsport, PA, Ruth (Robert) Shetler of Orrville, and Harold (Renee) Meyer of Massillon; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two siblings, Harold (Lila - dec.) Ulrich of IL and Frank (Cara) Ulrich of Archbold; and a sister-in-law, Frances Ulrich of IL.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Wilfred (Betty) Ulrich, Kenneth (Ruby) Ulrich, Mildred (Leonard) Reeb, and Emanuel Ulrich Jr.
Friends may call on January 6, 2024, at Smithville Mennonite Church, 6097 Akron Road, Smithville, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.
Services will follow at 11:00 am on January 6, 2024, at the church, with Pastor Todd Martin officiating. Burial will take place at the Smithville Mennonite Church Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of OrrVilla Maple Terrace and Ohio's Hospice LifeCare for their attentive and compassionate care in Geneva's later years.
