Mennonite Church
ARCHBOLD, O., May 21 - The Rev. Jesse J. Short, 67, pastor of
the Central Mennonite Church, died early yesterday [May 20, 1962] at
Detwiler Memorial Hospital, Wauseon.
A native of Archbold, Mr. Short was ordained in the
church here in 1936 and had served continuously since that time. He was
named pastor several years ago and was the senior member of a
three-minister staff.
He belonged to the Archbold Ministerial Association
and had served several years in Germany doing work for the Mennonite
Church. Mr. Short conducted evangelistic services in various
places throughout the United States and Canada for the Mennonite
denomination.
Survivors are his wife, Rosa E.; daughter, Mrs.
Everett Nafziger, Archbold; sons, Robert A. Reynolds, Archbold, and
Charles Reynolds, Santa Barbara, Calif.; six grandchildren; sisters,
Mrs. Raymond Nafziger, Archbold, O.; Mrs. Orval Kauffman, Wauseon; and
brother, Raymond, Stryker, O.
The body is in the Short Mortuary. At noon tomorrow,
it will be removed to the Central Mennonite Church where services will
be at 2:30 p.m. with burial in Pettisville
Cemetery.
