He is survived by Virginia, his beloved wife of 52 years, and his children; a son, Stephen (Vanessa) Lambright; a daughter, Gina (John Cheney) Lambright, both of San Francisco, CA., grandchildren; Edan Lambright, Lucas and Bryson Cheney, three sisters; his twin, Janet (Dale) Kanagy, Eloise Sommers, and Wanda (Martin) Brotherton, three brothers; Richard (Ruthie) Lambright, Robert (Shirley) Lambright, and Vernon (Beth) Lambright, and 20 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law, Myron Sommers, David Honderich, and Richard Martin.
A celebration of life was October 21, 2012 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home was led by family and friends. Burial was October 22, 2012 at Violett Cemetery.

GOSHEN - Melvin J. Lambright, 90, formerly of Middlebury and Millersburg, died at 1:15 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Courtyard Healthcare Center, Goshen.
He was born March 2, 1922, to Jacob J. and Fannie (Yoder) Lambright in LaGrange County. He married Nancy Miller on July 18, 1947, in Elkhart County. She died Sept. 28, 2007.
Surviving are daughters Zoann (Abe) Beachy of Millersburg and Judy (Norman) Beachy of Middlebury; son Mike (Ronda) Lambright of New Paris; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter Theda Miller; sons Merlin and Gary Lambright; sisters Clara, Elsie and Wilma Miller; and brothers Jerry, Tobe, Ammon, Ed, Milton and Freeman Lambright.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Miller Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Thursday at Townline Mennonite Church, Shipshewana. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Memorials may be given to Clinton Brick Mennonite Church.

Ruth was involved with OMS International taking mission trips to Russia and other foreign countries. She was kitchen supervisor at Lagrange Hospital and cook at Rainbow Years Learning Ministry.
Memorial services were held November 17, 2012 at Shore Mennonite Church Shipshewana, IN with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

GOSHEN - Ruth L. Lambright, 88, of Goshen and formerly of LaGrange, died Saturday, Nov. 17, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born Dec. 29, 1923, to the late J. Elmer and Rosa (Yoder) Miller in LaGrange County.
She married Harold Lambright on July 12, 1947, in LaGrange County. He died Jan. 11, 2004.
Her children, Birdena (Louis) Bollenbacher of Nappanee, Karen Kotleba, Marcile (Lewis) Lindsey, Karl (Patricia) Lambright, Glendon Lambright and Marlin Lambright of Middlebury; daughter-in-law Mary Lambright; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings Helen Neff, Rosalie Yoder, Marilyn Burkey, Carolyn Dillon, Dwight Miller and DeWayne Miller survive.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Shore Mennonite Church. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the church.
Burial is in Shore Cemetery.

Ben and Marian celebrated 70 years of married life together in August, 2011. Ben was born October 31, 1919 in East Hempfield Township, to John J. and Nora Stauffer Landis. He was a life-long member of the East Petersburg Mennonite Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher, trustee and treasurer.
Surviving is his wife Marian and two daughters, Marian, married to Sam Thomas, Landisville, PA and Joyce, married to Glenn Rohrer, Lancaster, PA, five married grandchildren, Janelle (Ryan Sauder), Marlisa (Sheldon Wenger), Jodie (Randy Brubaker), Geoffrey (Amy Shearer), Brad (Zoe` Baer), ten great grandchildren and a foster sister, Eleanor Nauman.
Ben was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Sauder and four brothers, Earl, Abram, Norman, and John Landis.
A shared memorial service celebrating Ben and Marian's lives together will be planned and announced at a later date. Interment service will be private and at the convenience of the family in the adjoining church cemetery.

Landis, Marian H. Hess, 91, formerly of Landisville, PA died February 18, 2012 at her apartment. Born October 6, 1920 in Manheim Township, Lancaster Co., PA to Paul and Susan Herr Hess. Marian was the wife of Benjamin S. Landis who died six weeks ago on January 5, 2012.
Following Christ's example, Marian lived a life of service to her church, her family, and her neighbors. She was a faithful member of the East Petersburg Mennonite Church and was active with the sewing circle making comforters, and school kit bags for the Mennonite Central Committee.
Surviving are two daughters, Marian married to Sam Thomas, Landisville, PA; Joyce married to Glenn Rohrer, Lancaster, PA; five married grandchildren, Janelle ( Ryan Sauder) , Marlisa (Sheldon Wenger), Jodie (Randy Brubaker), Geoffrey (Amy Shearer), Brad (Zoe Baer), and ten great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is her husband Ben, a brother, Clarence Hess and a sister, Elizabeth Denlinger.
A service of remembrance of Ben and Marian's lives together will be held February 25, 2012 at the East Petersburg Mennonite Church East Petersburg, PA. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the East Petersburg Mennonite cemetery.

SHIPSHEWANA - Jim Lauver, 57, of Shipshewana, died at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.
He was born Sept. 7, 1955, in Puerto Rico to the Rev. J. Paul and Lois (Swihart) Lauver. On March 29, 1980, he married Jan Mast.
Survivors include his wife; his parents of LaGrange; daughters Jessie (Mike) Whitten and Jenny Lauver; sister Maggie Glaser; and brothers Paul (Marilyn) Lauver, John (Patti) Lauver and David (Pam) Lauver. Also surviving of Jan's family are Bill and Doris Mast, Gary and Lynnette Mast, Mike and Judy Mast and Phil and Sandy Mast, all of Shipshewana, Lorilee and Brian Christner and Brian Mast.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Lauver.
He was a member and elder of Marion Mennonite Church and had been president of the church council for two terms.
He loved traveling, hiking and playing tennis.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Marion Mennonite Church, 5460 N. 450 W., Shipshewana.
A private burial will be Monday, Dec. 31, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:30 a.m. at Shore Mennonite Church, Shipshewana.
Memorials may be given to the Marion Mennonite Church Building Project.

She was born September 2, 1921 at Trenque Lauquen, Argentina, South America to early Mennonite missionaries to Argentina, William Graybill and Florence (Byler) Lauver. William was born December 5, 1896 and died March 28, 1984. Florece was born June 2, 1894 and died May 7, 1966.
Surviving are a brother, J. Paul and Lois Swihart Lauver, and a sister, Mary Lou Lauver and Lester A. Blank

He was a truck driver for 35 years and had over 5 million miles of safe driving. Mr. Layman enjoyed hunting arrowheads, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed playing piano gospel music. He enjoyed spending time with his family at their vacation home on Hatteras Island. He also loved and cared for his dogs. He was an active member of the Montezuma Church of the Brethren, where he served as a deacon and usher.
On May 26, 1984, he married Sharon Schork Layman, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother are two daughters, Cheri L. Beatty of Forked River, N.J., and Stacey Beatty Watson of Buffalo, N.Y.; one brother, Eldon Layman of Dayton; and one grandson, Liam Joseph Beatty.
The Rev. David R. Miller, the Rev. Phil Kanagy and Janet Whetzel, minister of visitation, will conduct a memorial service Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Montezuma Church of the Brethren. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg. He was born to Albert J. and Annie (Hochstetler) Lehman.
On May 21, 1944, he married Ida Mae Herschberger.
She survives with four daughters, Mary Ellen (Floyd) Miller of Chouteau, Okla., Barbara Fern (Howard) Troyer of Ligonier, Anna Marie (LeRoy) Troyer of LaGrange and Alma Sue (Tom) Moran of Chouteau; three sons, Elmer Lee (Elizabeth) Lehman of Middlebury, Albert Jay (Tressie of Middlebury) Lehman of Ava, Mo., and Melvin Ray (Phyllis) Lehman of Shipshewana; 27 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister; and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandson; two grandsons; a daughter-in-law; two sisters; and three brothers.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today, Aug. 5, and all day Monday at the LeRoy Troyer residence, 4835 S. 300 W.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Lonnie Yoder residence, 4985 S. 300 W.

- MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS - Ferne I. Lehman, 72, of Mount Pleasant Mills, died on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident near Freeburg.
Ferne was born Jan. 2, 1940, in Richfield, and was a long-time resident of Juanita and Snyder counties. She will be missed as a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
She worked for many years as a home childcare provider, as a certified nursing assistant in area nursing homes and home health care.
Along with her husband, she did volunteer work in Philadelphia in the early 60s and more recently volunteered at Spruce Lake Retreat for several months.She was a member of Lauvers Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her husband, Marcus Lehman, with whom she celebrated 50 years of loving marriage; four children, Paul Lehman, married to Glenda McGruder Lehman, of Clifton, Colo., Dale Lehman, married to Holly Klingler Lehman, of Mifflinburg, Rhoda Hershey, married to Ron Hershey, of Mechanicsburg, and Conrad Lehman, married to Cindy Williams Lehman, of Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren, Amber Pace, Janaya Lehman, Andrew Lehman, Rebecca Lehman, Erin Hershey, Christina Hershey, Marc Hershey, Kyle Lehman and Kara Lehman; one great-grandchild, Teagan Nicholes; two sisters, Anna Kauffman Weaver, of Womelsdorf, and Thelma Kauffman Kauffman, married to Laban Kauffman, of Richfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Lydia Kauffman, and two brothers, Raymond Kauffman and Robert Kauffman.

She was born in Middlebury to Eli J. and Alma (Miller) Herschberger. On May 21, 1944, in Middlebury, she married Daniel A. Lehman. He died Aug. 4, 2012.

Surviving are children Ruby Ellen (Manass) Miller of Kalona, Iowa, Verna Mae (Alvin) Kuhns of Shipshewana, Freda (Sam H.) Bontrager of Colon, Mich., Ervin Jay (Jane) Lehman of Crossville, Texas, Mahlon L. (Anna) Lehman of Goshen, Wilbur R. (Lizzie) Lehman of Shipshewana and Alvin A. (Inez) Lehman of Shipshewana; 33 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister Ella Chupp of Goshen; and brother Albert Hochstetler of Sturgis, Mich.
She was preceded by a stillborn son; siblings Amos, Ervin, Alvin, Vane, Eli, Mary and Sarah; and two grandchildren.

GOSHEN - Marion A. Lehman, 97, passed away Friday afternoon, March 16, 2012, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born Oct. 12, 1914, in Orrville, Ohio, to Jacob P. and Sarah (Moser) Lehman. He married Frances E. Schnell June 28, 1941, in Orrville. She died Dec. 28, 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Kermit (Elsie) of Waltham, Mass., and Rex of Goshen; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Hamsher of Orrville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Eric, in 2002; two sisters, Clara Hershberger and Orpha Hartzler; and three brothers, Milton, Marcus and Paul Lehman.
Mr. Lehman moved to Goshen in 1954 to manage Provident Bookstore. During that time he volunteered for Heifer International, raising funds, livestock, poultry and technicians. When Heifer International established the Midwest Office, he became the first director and held that position for five years.
In 1964, the Lehmans opened up their home to the work of Oaklawn Psychiatric Center as a "Community Home." During the next 27 years they hosted more than 175 clients. This was most rewarding, as it had nothing to do with academic accomplishments or wealth, but was designed specifically to the well-being of the individual and the frailties of life.
In 1979, after retirement at age 65, he soon received many phone calls asking if he would be a troubleshooter or investigator for companies or individuals in many parts of the world. This he did from 1979 to 1991. This, along with family travel, took him to 72 countries, all 50 states and every Canadian province. This was made possible because of many friends, a sense of humor and a passion for helping other people to help themselves.
His hobbies included playing Scrabble and pool until the age of 95. He was at home in the market places and villages of the world.
In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated, and there will be no visitation. A 10:30 a.m. Thursday memorial service will be conducted at College Mennonite Church with Pastor Phil Waite officiating.

Lehman, Marion A., 97, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died March 16, 2012 at the same place. He was born October 12, 1914 at Orrville, Wayne Co., Ohio to Jacob P. and Sarah (Moser) Lehman. On June 28, 1941 at Orrville, Ohio he was married to Frances E. Schnell, who died December 28, 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Kermit (Elsie); and Rex, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Kathryn Hamsher (She died two days after Marion).
A son, Eric, two sisters Clara Hershberger, and Orpha Hartzler and three brothers, Milton, Marcus and Paul Lehman preceded him in death.

Lehman, Mary E., 80, of Kidron, OH died March 20, 2012 at the Wayne County Care Center. She was born near Kidron on November 13, 1931 to Silas and Bertha (Nussbaum) Lehman. She was a member of the Sonnenberg Mennonite Church where she was active in the women's sewing group and enjoyed the weekly duty of folding bulletins for Sunday morning worship service.
She is survived by a sister, Bessie Nussbaum of Apple Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sylvan Lehman; and sisters, Carrie Neuenschwander and Idella Geiser.
Funeral services were March 23, 2012 at the Sonnenberg Mennonite Church with Pastor Mel Hathaway officiating. Burial will follow in the Sonnenberg Mennonite Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Lancaster, Pa., to the late D. Stoner and Frances (Miller) Krady. She married Martin W. Lehman on April 5, 1947, in Lancaster. He survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Rachel (Eldon) Lehman Stoltzfus of Goshen; a son, J. Conrad Lehman of Goshen; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth (Harold) Lehman of Harrisonburg, Va., Naomi (Paul) Lehman of Ephrata, Pa., Lois (Roy) Hartzler of New Paris and Betty (Cary) Kelsey of Elkhart; and two brothers, Daniel Krady of Harleysville, Pa., and James (Madeleine) Krady of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Elva Krady, and a brother, Paul Krady.
A Goshen resident since 2008, coming from Sarasota, Fla., Mrs. Lehman was a member of Forks Mennonite Church and was atten-ding College Mennonite Church, Goshen. She actively served in many influential roles within the church including as minister's spouse and an administrative assistant for Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, Sarasota, Fla.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. An 11 a.m. memorial service will be Saturday at College Mennonite Church. Pastors Phil Waite and Richard Martin will officiate. A memorial service will also be held at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church. Cremation will take place and cremains will be placed in a columbarium at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church.

GOSHEN - Russell Lehman, 91, of Goshen and formerly of Hively Avenue, Elkhart, died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 , 2012, at Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born July 24, 1921, in Wakarusa to Charles and Bertha (Holdeman) Lehman.
He married Cleo Lucille (Weldy) Lehman on Jan. 26, 1946. She died June 27, 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Gloria (Jim) Reynolds of Elkhart; sons Dean R. (Darlene) Lehman of Elkhart and Bruce L. Lehman of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; and sister Mildred Lehman.
Russell was a salesman for Putnam Imports, Elkhart, for 19 years.
He was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
He enjoyed music, doing crossword puzzles, spending time with his family, and was a member of Evergreen Singers.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, service at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Pastors Harold Yoder and Katie Cunningham will officiate.
Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Life Story of Russell Lehman
Born July 24, 1921 Died November 1, 2012
Russell Lehman was born on July 24, 1921 to Charles and Bertha (Holdeman) Lehman. Russell and his older sister Mildred grew up on a farm along State Route 119 near Wakarusa where his father farmed. He attended a one room school through grade eight and then attended Wakarusa High School for two years. At age sixteen, he quit high school to farm due to the death of his father.
Russell and his family attended Yellow Creek Mennonite Church where he committed his life and heart to Jesus Christ at age eleven and was baptized in 1932. Russell was active in Sunday school, worship, and the literary group for young people. After high school, he was invited to attend Bible School at Goshen College by Nelson Stauffer who offered to pay his way. Russell attended and found himself drawn to mission work.
During World War II, Russell was granted a 4F classification so that he could farm the family farm and support his mother and sister. Following the war, Russell married Cleo Weldy of Wakarusa on January 26, 1946. In time, they were blessed with three children Gloria, Dean and Bruce.
At age twenty-nine, Russell and Cleo moved to Michigan to help Paul Wittrig at the Mission Station in Imlay City. His uncle built a brooder house and Russell and Cleo stayed and farmed for several years. When they returned to Elkhart County they purchased a home on Hively Avenue in Elkhart and attended East Goshen Mennonite Church. Russell worked for Eby Dairy and as a salesman for WCMR for several years. Then Russell was employed by Putnam Motors as a car salesman, where he worked for 19 years until his retirement. While living in Elkhart they attended Belmont Mennonite Church and later joined South Side Fellowship. He also sang in a Gospel Quartet.
In 1988, Russell and Cleo returned to Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, transporting her parents who no longer could drive. January 20, 1991, they became members by transfer of membership. After celebrating forty-five years of marriage Cleo passed away on June 27, 1991. Cleo's parents died the same year. But Russell continued to attend Yellow Creek, serving as Sunday school class officer for the Yoke Fellows and Fellow Pilgrims classes numerous times. He also added his deep bass voice to the choir and enriched the four part congregational singing.
Three years after Cleo's death, Russell moved from Elkhart to Manor 4 at Greencroft in Goshen where he lived for the past 18 years. He was an active member of the Manor 4 Resident's Council for many years and sang with the Evergreen Singers.
In retirement, Russell enjoyed collecting antique car plates, doing crossword puzzles, and attending musical events. He also enjoyed spending time with Gloria and Dean's families locally, and visiting Bruce's family in the winters in Sarasota, Florida. In July 2011, the family all gathered in Goshen to celebrate Russell's 90th birthday with him. In September 2012 they gathered again in Goshen for Sharon Lehman's memorial service.
Although Russell had had a stroke, carotid artery surgery, and shingles between 1985 and 2001, he continued to live a full and active life until his recent decline in health. When he could no longer drive due to vision impairment, he purchased an electric scooter and drove himself to visit persons in health care and go to doctor's appointments.
Russell faithfully attended and supported Yellow Creek until two months ago, traveling to church on the Greencroft bus which he helped select. Russell was hospitalized with serious heart problems a month ago and then moved to Greencroft Gables. He died unexpectedly and peacefully on Thursday morning, November 1, 2012 at the Gables.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Bertha, his sister Mildred and daughter-in-law Sharon Lehman who died September 1, 2012.
He is survived by his daughter Gloria, married to Jim Reynolds, of Elkhart, Dean R. Lehman, married to Darlene, of Elkhart and Bruce L. Lehman, of Sarasota Florida. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jim Reynolds Jr., Amy Lehman Hardy, and Mark Lehman as well as great grandchildren, Maicey and Cooper Hardy.
Memorial gifts may be given in Russell's honor to the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church Building Fund.
Praise be to God for his faithfulness to Russell during his ninety-one years of life and Russell's service to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

She was born July 27, 1921, in Harrisonburg, Va., and was the daughter of the late D. Stoner and Frances Miller Krady. The family returned to Lancaster, Pa., in 1923, and Ruth had vivid memories of growing up in Vine Street Mission, where her father was superintendent.
Ruth graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School in 1939 and from junior college at Eastern Mennonite School in 1944. Between those periods of school, she was a stenographer on the staff of Mennonite Central Committee in Akron, Pa.
Ruth married Harold D. Lehman on Dec. 30, 1944. The first years of their married life were spent at Vineland Training School in New Jersey, where Harold was in Civilian Public Service, and Ruth was employed as secretary to a department head. The couple moved to Park View in 1946, where they raised four sons.
Ruth worked at Eastern Mennonite College for 19 years, first as an assistant to the registrar, and then as acquisitions librarian. After her youngest son graduated from college, Ruth returned to complete her college degree at James Madison University. She was a student in JMU's first Semester in London in the fall of 1979, and earned a Bachelor of General Studies in 1981, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Women's Studies. Her thesis study was on "The Status of Women Faculty at Eastern Mennonite College, 1917-1950."
Following her retirement from Eastern Mennonite College, Ruth served with her husband in Voluntary Service between 1986 and 1990 in Birmingham, England, compiling the "Turner Collection of Religious Movements, 1492-1992." She was a longtime member of Park View Mennonite Church, where she participated in activities of Mennonite Women, served for many years as a kindergarten Sunday school teacher, and as editor of the church newsletter.
Ruth loved words, crossword puzzles, books, book clubs, writing, and editing. With her husband, she co-authored "The Laurelville Story, 1943-1993." She typed many dissertations, studies, and book reviews. Frequently, she typed papers without charge for international students.
In addition to her husband, Harold, Ruth is survived by four sons, Kenneth and wife, Jackie, Farmville, Va., Daniel and wife, Barbara, Mansfield, Ohio, David and wife, Jan, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Larry and wife, Jane, Fredericksburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Susan L. Bouchonville and husband, Matt, Albuquerque, N.M., Hadley Bachman and husband, Brett, Columbus, Ohio, Benjamin Lehman, Los Angeles, Calif., and Michael and Christian Lehman, Farmville, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Bouchonville, and Avelea Ruth Bachman; and five siblings, Naomi K. Lehman and husband, Paul, Ephrata, Pa., Daniel Krady, Harleysville, Pa., James Krady and wife, Madeline, Lancaster, Pa., Lois K. Hartzler and husband, Roy, New Paris, Ind., and Betty K. She was born July 24, 1953 at Meyersdale, PA to Cloyd J. and Mary Edna (Stutzman) Yoder. Cloyd was born December 18, 1929 and died February 2, 1999. Mary Edna was born August 20, 1933 and survives.
On December 24, 1986 at Goshen, IN she was married to Bruce Lamar Lehman, who was born February 17, 1957 and survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband and mother are a son, Mark Lehman, four sisters: Carol (Merle) Miller, Gladys (John) Weaver, Marilyn (Jonas) Yoder, Doris (Gordon) Stutzman; and a brother, Steve (Becky) Yoder.
Sharon received a Diploma Degree in Nursing from Massillon Community Hospital School of Nursing (Massillon, OH) in 1974, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Goshen College (Goshen, IN) in 1982. Sharon's nursing career included two aspects; as a teacher, she was a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association, Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor, and LaMaze instructor. As a caregiver, Sharon was a flight nurse for Medivac Air Ambulance, certified EMT, emergency room nurse in several hospitals, and an office nurse for several doctors. While living in Sarasota, Sharon was the office nurse for Dr. George F. Scherer, and most recently the Director of Nursing at Sunnyside Nursing Home, in Sarasota, FL.
Sharon was an active member of Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, and enjoyed participating in many aspects of church life.
Memorial services were held September 8, 2012 at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, Saraosta, FL with burial in Bahia Vista Church Columberium.

GOSHEN - Clarence Nicholas Leichty, 89, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Greencroft Gables in Goshen.
He was born June 8, 1922, at Albany, Ore., to Nicholas and Magdalena (Maurer) Leichty. He married Wilma Ewert on Aug. 23, 1949, at Reedley, Calif., and she survives in Goshen.
Also surviving are three children and their spouses, Paul and Twila Leichty of Goshen, Bruce and Kathy Leichty of Escondido, Calif., and Cheryl and Ron Blaum of Goshen, and five grandchildren (with spouses noted if any), Nathan Leichty of Middlebury, Renita and Matthew Marjan of Lombard, Ill., Julian Leichty of Taipei, Taiwan, John Leichty of Pasadena, Calif., and Timothy Blaum of Goshen.
He is also survived by four sisters and a brother (with spouses noted if surviving), Esther Kropf of Wickenberg, Ariz., Alice Sawatsky of Cedar, Minn., Edna and Daniel Widmer of Albany, Ore., Wilma and Gene Kanagy of Albany; and Wilmer and Mary Leichty of Albany.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Daniel and Jacob (whose spouse, Norma Jean, survives), and one sister, Ruth Roth.
Clarence grew up on a farm in the Willamette Valley near Albany, Ore. After settling in Elkhart, Ind., Clarence for many years retained an interest in the family farm, where he was affectionately called CN by a large extended family. He and his family traveled from Indiana many summers to help his brothers with the ryegrass seed harvest.
His first non-farm employment was as a teacher in the Oregon towns of Sweet Home and Foster, after he received his teaching diploma from Oregon College of Education. During World War II, he performed alternative service at Civilian Public Service camps in California, Oregon and Nebraska, meeting his future wife, Wilma, during the latter assignment. He and Wilma then completed bachelor's degrees at Goshen College, where he graduated with a B.S. and B.A. in education in 1949.
After his graduation, Clarence taught at Willowdale School in Elkhart before completing his masters degree at Indiana University in 1954. He was an elementary school administrator until retirement, serving as principal at Willowdale, Ulery, Roosevelt, Pinewood and Hawthorne schools in Elkhart. His experiences relating to the community at Roosevelt School led him to pursue further education in curriculum development at Wayne State University, Detroit, where he earned an Ed.Sp. Certificate in 1971. After retiring from Elkhart Community Schools in 1987, he served as chief administrator at Penn View Christian School, Souderton, Pa., for one year (1990-91). He was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, National Education Association and a Life Member of the Parent Teachers Association.
Clarence remained a lifelong member of the Mennonite church after being baptized as a youth at Fairview Mennonite Church near the family farm. In Elkhart, he was a longtime member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church, serving as a teacher, Sunday school superintendent, elder and church secretary. After he and Wilma retired in Goshen, he became a member at College Mennonite Church.
He served in various volunteer roles during his later years, including as president of Elkhart Community Day Care Center and as an advocate for children with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). He also was employed at Oaklawn Center and Greencroft Retirement Communities, as a driver for a number of years. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, refinishing antiques and creating small woodworking projects.
Funeral arrangements are through Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Calling hours will be at College Mennonite Church from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 3. A memorial service will be held at College Mennonite Church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4.

He was born June 8, 1922 at Albany, OR to Nicholas and Magdalena (Maurer) Leichty. Nicholas was born December 6, 1886 and died February 26, 1955. Magdalena was born March 7, 1890 and died February 10, 1982.
On August 23, 1949 at Reedley, CA he was married to Wilma Evelyn Ewert who was born March 23, 1925 and survives.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Leichty (Twila Charles Leichty); and Bruce Leichty (Kathy Leichty); a daughter, Cheryl (Ronald Blaum) Blaum, five grandchildren, four sisters, Esther Kropf of Wickenberg, Arizona;, Alice Sawatsky of Cedar, Minnesota, Edna (Daniel Widmer) Widmer of Albany, Oregon, and Wilma (Gene) Kanagy of Albany, and a brother, Wilmer (Mary) Leichty of Albany.
Two brothers, Daniel, and Jacob (whose spouse Norma Jean survives), and a sister, Ruth Roth preceded him in death.
His first non-farm employment was as a teacher in the Oregon towns of Sweet Home and Foster, after he received his teaching diploma from Oregon College of Education. During World War II, he performed alternative service at Civilian Public Service camps in California, Oregon and Nebraska, meeting his future wife Wilma during the latter assignment. He and Wilma then completed bachelor's degrees at Goshen College, where he graduated with a B.S. and B.A. in Education in 1949.
After his graduation, Clarence taught at Willowdale School in Elkhart before completing his master's degree at Indiana University in 1954. He was an elementary school administrator until retirement, serving as principal at Willowdale, Ullery, Roosevelt, Pinewood and Hawthorne schools in Elkhart. His experiences relating to the community at Roosevelt School led him to pursue further education in curriculum development at Wayne State University, Detroit, where he earned an Ed.Sp. Certificate in 1971. After retiring from Elkhart Community Schools in 1987, he served as chief administrator at Penn View Christian School, Souderton, Pennsylvania for one year (1990-91).

Barbara G. Liechty, 50, passed away on Tuesday (Aug. 14, 2012) at her home in Hesston. She was born on Sept. 16, 1961, in Hays, the daughter of Robert and Doris Mueller Showalter. She was a preschool teacher and homemaker. On June 18, 1983, she married Brad Liechty at the Hesston Inter Mennonite Church in Hesston. He survives. Barbara was a member of the Hesston Mennonite Church. She is survived by her mother, Doris Mueller Showalter of South Hutchinson; sons, Brandon and Brett of Hesston; brother, Mike Nicholas of Wichita; sisters, Vicky (Kelly) Saxton of Dallas and Jana (Eric) Lange of South Hutchinson; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Showalter.
.Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 16, 2012) at the Hesston Mennonite Church, with Pastor John C. Murray officiating. Private burial will take place at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Hesston. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Aug. 15, 2012), with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Education Hall at Hesston Mennonite Church. Liechty, Barbara G. Wing, 50, of Hesston, Harvey Co., Kansas died August 14, 2012 at the same place. She was born September 16, 1961 to Robert Doris (Mueller) Showalter. She was married to Brad Liechty.

GOSHEN - Clifford D. Liechty, 86, formerly of Grabill, passed to his eternal home Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen.
He was born July 19, 1926, in Grabill to Peter A. and Martha (Yoder) Liechty. On Jan. 30, 1949, he married I. Betty Rupp in Fulton County, Ohio. She preceded him in death Jan. 22, 2004.
Survivors include Jon (Carol) Liechty of Sayre, Pa., Jim (Angela) Liechty of Fort Wayne, Jerry (Susan) Liechty of Delaware, Ohio, and Joy Liechty (Rick) Yoder of Goshen; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Miller and Marilyn (Willard) Greiser of Wauseon, Ohio; and one brother, Herbert (Geri) Liechty of Goshen.
His brother, Dale Liechty; sister Luella King Aeschliman; and infant son, Jay Allen Liechty, all preceded him in death.
Clifford lived his entire life in the Grabill area. He worked in the construction industry, owning Liechty and Associates in New Haven. He built numerous homes in Fort Wayne and the surrounding area.
He was a member of North Leo Mennonite Church, where he served as an elder and member of the building committee, Dare to Care Ministry, church choir and men's quartet. He volunteered with House against Hunger, Habitat of Humanity, Mennonite Disaster Service, Menno-Hof and the Dove's Nest. He was a former officer with the Fort Wayne Home Builders Association.
Clifford will be remembered for his woodworking skills and the many blue ribbons he won for his entries at the Grabill Country Fair. He spent many hours of retirement creating wooden items that he shared with family and friends.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct 26, 2012, at North Leo Mennonite Church in Leo. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the church. There will be a private burial service on Saturday at Leo Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to North Leo Mennonite Church, Mennonite Disaster Service or Town of Grabill Food Bank.

GOSHEN - Fredrick H. "Fritz" Liechty, 84, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 19, 2012, at Greencroft Gables, where he had been since Jan. 3.
He was born Jan. 8, 1928, in Berne to Hiram and Fanny (Beitler) Liechty. He married Magdalene "Maggie" Lehman on Aug. 26, 1950, in Berne. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy Liechty (Jake) Loewen and Mary Liechty- (Doug) Caskey, both of Goshen; and four grandchildren, Emma (Alex) Dugger, Nick Loewen, Jesse Loewen and Alex Caskey.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Fisher and Jane Bentz.
A lovingly devoted husband, father and grandfather, he placed great importance on his family. A 1950 graduate of Bluffton College, he was an outstanding athlete in basketball, baseball and football and was inducted into Bluffton's Athletic Hall of Fame. A dedicated jogger, he ran more than 85,000 miles.
He retired in 1993 as president of First Bank of Berne, where he had worked since 1950. He was a longtime member of 1st Mennonite Church, Berne, where he was active in Stephens Ministry and taught Sunday school for many years. He and his wife were very active in refugee resettlement.
He was a former board member of Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary and Mennonite Board of Education. A Goshen resident since July 2007, he was a member of 8th Street Mennonite Church.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at 8th Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, where a 7 p.m. memorial service will be conducted. Pastors Kevin Farmwald and Brenda Sawatzky-Paetkau will officiate. A Saturday, Jan. 28, memorial service will also be held at Swiss Village Chapel, Berne.

He was born June 10, 1928 in St. Joe Township, ____ Co., IN to Silas and Sarah (Frey) Liechty. Sarah was born April 3, 1889.
On February 9, 1963 in PA he was married to Ruth E. Zook, who was born March 18, 1936 and survives.
Surviving are children, Gene (Kimberly) Liechty, Tricia (Chad) Watson, and Elizabeth Liechty, eight grandchildren, two brothers, Jesse (Margie) Liechty and Richard (Ruth) Liechty, and a sister, Ruth (Charles) Shue.
His siblings, Mildred (Raymond) Graber, Delilah (Ralph) Seiler, Mary (Jesse) Stuckey, Omer (Mary) Liechty, and Simon (Leah) Liechty preceded him in death.

GOSHEN - Ruth E. Liechty, 89, died Friday at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born in Goshen on Nov. 19, 1922, to the late Allen and Sophia (Ummel) Yoder. She married John H. Liechty. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three children, Bonnie (Stan) King, John Allen Liechty and Daniel (Mary) Liechty, all of Goshen; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and two brothers, Al (Marie) Yoder Jr. of Middlebury and Dale Yoder of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Liechty; a great-granddaughter, Acacia King; two sisters; and six brothers.
A member of College Mennonite Church in Goshen, Ruth graduated from Millersburg High School and attended Goshen College. She enjoyed meeting people and taking an interest in them, and she participated in and took active roles in school, community and church activities in Smithville, Ohio, and in Goshen. Her pleasure in books and reading extended to circulation desk work for several years at Goshen Public Library.
A memorial service will be held later in February at College Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Interment will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Liechty, Ruth E. Yoder, 89, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died January 13, 2012 at the same place. She was born November 19, 1922 at Goshen to Allen and Sophia (Ummel) Yoder. On September 13, 1942 she was married to John H. Liechty, who died March 11, 1996.
Surviving are children, Bonnie (Stan) King; John Allen Liechty; and Daniel (Mary) Liechty, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Al (Marie) Yoder, Jr.; and Dale Yoder.

She was born April 22, 1919 at Butterfield, Watonwan Co., MN to Bernhard D. and Maria M. (Harder) Penner. Bernhard was born September 29, 1892 and died January 18, 1982. Maria was born September 13, 1894 and died July 6, 1977.
On June 19, 1941 at Mountain Lake, MN she was married to Peter N. Loewen, who was born June 8, 1916 and died January 25, 2005.
Surviving are children, David Peter (JoAnn) Loewen; LaDonna Marie (Richard) Stout; Loretta Jane (Frank) Gorman; and Marjorie Elaine (Charles "Chuck") Rasmussen, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Marie Harder; and two brothers, D. Alvin Penner; and Walter Penner preceded her in death.
Elizabeth was born on the farm near Butterfield, MN. Upon profession of faith, she was baptized and received into membership at the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake on May 16, 1937, by I. J. Dick.
Elizabeth graduated from the 8th grade as valedictorian of her class. She enjoyed school so much, she traveled by train to attend Mountain Lake German School one year beyond standard education of the time.
Elizabeth met Peter N. Loewen through their roles in Christian Endeavor, and they were united in marriage at the First Mennonite Church in 1941. They were married for 64 years until Peter's death in 2005.
Her love and patience established a peaceful, happy home, which was blessed by her wisdom, understanding, and encouragement. Through her faithfully written letters she continued to offer her children the same encouragement and wisdom. She had a heart for family and friends, was consistently cheerful and positive, having a way of seeing the best in everyone, and always keeping her eyes on the Lord for each day. She would smile and hum and whistle as she went about her work and was never too rushed to stop and listen to those wanting her attention.
Although Elizabeth enjoyed farm life immensely, when it was time to retire to town, and later after Peter's death to move to a Parkwood Place apartment, she made the adjustment with her customary grace and joy. As a gardener Elizabeth especially enjoyed flowers. She also enjoyed bringing canned goods and baked items to county fairs. She was a lifelong member of First Mennonite Church where her participation in the Mission Society and in the life of the church was an important part of her life.

She was born June 18, 1939 at Marion, SD to Jacob and Esther (Graber) Eisenbeis. Jacob was born April 9, 1907 and died October 27, 1995. Esther was born October 27, 1911 and died February 14, 2005.
On August 13, 1966 at Newton, KS she was married to Kenneth P. Lohrentz, who was born December 3, 1940 and survives.
Surviving are two daughters: Greta Marie Carter-Wilson, Lawrence, KS; and Michelle Elise Schwartz (husband Lyle), Shawnee, KS; five grandchildren: Kaylin Dillon (husband Grayson); Chessa Carter; Remington Wilson; Carson Schwartz; and Parker Schwartz; and a brother: Larry Eisenbeis, (wife Anette Kaufman Eisenbeis), Marion, South Dakota.
We are members of Peace Mennonite Church in Lawrence. Since it only holds 60 people, we had the memorial service at First Baptist Church, which has a larger seating capacity.
Lola donated her remains to the University of Kansas School of Medicine for medical research. After completion of the medical analysis, she will be cremated and the cremains will be buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, KS, with only the year to identify the site of the cremains. No names will appear on the plaque marking the site.

He had received his Master's Degree in education from Millersville University. He had been employed by the Chambersburg Area School District as an industrial arts teacher in the Chambersburg Middle School, retiring in 1982. In 1978-79, Elmer and his wife spent a year volunteering with Mennonite Disaster Service while on sabbatical from teaching. Elmer and Ruth both had a keen interest in Brethren in Christ mission work among the Navajos.
Elmer is survived by three children: Dale K. (husband of Ellen) Longenecker of Millersville, PA, Alton K. (husband of Lois) Longenecker of Elkhart, IN, and Eunice (wife of Ben) Stoner of Farmington, NM. He has nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Elmer F. Longenecker, in 1985.
A memorial service was June 25. 2012 at 11:00 AM at the West Side Brethren In Christ Church. Interment will be held Monday morning at 9:00 AM at Shopes Mennonite Cemetery, Middletown, Dauphin Co., PA.

Service was August 24, 2012 at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. The Rev. Dick Potter and the Rev. Charles Warren officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
