Mrs. Melinda Miller, daughter of Joe and Anna Roth, was born near
Wayland, Iowa on May 10, 1886 and she passed away at St. Joseph
Hospital where she underwent a serious operation last Monday. She died
the following day, Tuesday, April 14, 1931, at the age of 44 years, 11
months, and 4 days. On May 17, 1903, she was baptized and received into
the fellowship of Wayland Mennonite Church, of which she was still a
member. On December 23, 1908, she was united in marriage with David E.
Miller. To this union were born three children of whom Gladys and
Gwendolyn are still living, one daughter, Margaret, having died in
infancy. She was only two years old when her mother died. Her father
died about 21 years ago. Three sisters and two brothers also preceded
her into the Great Beyond. She leaves to mourn her departure her
husband, two daughters, five sisters, and four brothers besides many
other relatives and friends. Mrs. Miller spent the greater part of her
life near Wayland but the past 10 years the family resided near
Richland. She had a kind and cheerful disposition. She was kindhearted
and sympathetic and her home was always open for homeless children.
