M.;
ROPP.-
Lydia M. Ropp, daughter of Joe C. and Mary (Yoder) Ropp, was
born Apr. 14, 1932, in Johnson County, Iowa, and passed away July 15,
1972, at Cal-gary, Alberta, Canada, aged 40 years, '3 months and 1 day.
She was instantly killed in a two-car accident, while on a sight-seeing
trip with her parents. Her parents and the driver, his wife, and a girl
friend were also injured and some quite seri-ously.
In September of 1947 she confessed Christ as her Saviour and was
baptized in the O. O. Amish Church, and remained faithful to the end.
Surviving are her parents of Kalona, Iowa; two brothers, Elmer of
Kalona, and Emery of Seymour, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Lester (Rachel)
Hochstedler, Asuncion, Paraguay, Mrs. Chester H. (Mary) Miller of
Riverside, Iowa, Clara and Vesta Ropp in Kalona.
Funeral services were held in the Ches-ter H. Miller home on July 20,
and burial in Gingerich Cemetery northwest of Ka-lona. -Ministers were
Morris Miller and Henry B. Miller in the house, and Philip Yoder of
Buchanan County, Iowa, and Enos C. Swartzentruber in the barn,
at-tended by a large group of relatives and friends.
