  CHUPP, Dan J.;  CHUPP, Jacob M.;   COBLENTZ, Harley;    

CHUPP. - Dan J., son of John J. and Martha (Stutzman) Chupp, was born in Newton Co. Ind, Nov. 13, 1902. Departed this life Aug. 24, 1973, at a Goshen, Ind., hospital, after attending a funeral in Michigan the day before. He was aged 70 years, 9 months and 11 days. On Dec. 16, 1926, he was married to Anna S. Beachy. They lived in matrimony over 46 years. He leaves to, mourn his departure his wife; two sons, Jacob and Reuben of Arthur, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Toby J. (Lydia Ann) Herschberger of Sullivan, Ill., Mrs. Adlai L. (Edna) Helmuth and Mrs. Andrew (Ruby) Hostetler of Arthur, Ill. Also, 20 grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Schrock, Gordonville, Pa.; 5 brothers, Eli of Wyoming, Del., Jacob and Menno, both of Arthur, Ill., Levi, Sullivan, Ill., and Andy, Greenwood, Del. He was preceded by his parents, 1 daughter, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Services were held in the home Aug. 27, 1973, by Min. Amos Miller of Arthur, Min. Eli Chupp, Middlebury, Ind., and Bish. Amos D. Otto of Arthur. Burial in Otto Cemetery near Arthur, Ill.

CHUPP. - Jacob M., son of John J. and Martha (Stutzman) Chupp, was born in Newton Co. Ind., Aug. 3, 1904; died Sept. 7, 1973, in a Memphis Mo., hospital, at the age of 69 years, 1 month, 4 days. He had been visiting in his daughter's home, the Eli J. Yoders of Milton, Iowa, over a week. His brother Dan, of the above obituary*, had also died away from home just two weeks before. He was married to Mattie A. Herschberger, Dec. 23, 1926, who sur-vives; also 5 sons and 3 daughters: Joas and Eli M. both of Shipshewana, Ind.; Lewis of Tuscola, Ill.; Edward J. and Omer both of Arthur, Ill.; Mrs, Fred (Edna) Schrock and Mrs. Edward (Clara) Schrock, also of Arthur; and Mrs. Eli J. (Wilma) Yoder, Milton, Iowa; also four brothers and one sister (see above obit-uary)*. 39 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 grand-children. Services were held in the Menno Chupp home Sept. 10, 1973, by Bish. Criss Otto and Bish. Amos D. Otto. Bur-ial in Otto Cemetery near Arthur, Ill.

COBLENTZ. - Harley, son of Dan J. and Fannie (,Schrock) Coblentz, was born Feb. 8, 1909, at McMinnville, Ore„ and passed ,away ;at his home, near Kalona, Iowa, after a short illness, on July 15, 1973 Aged 64 years, 5 months and 7 days. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Sav-iour and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. On June 8, 1938, he was united in marriage to Barbara Gingerich ,In North Dakota. After living there for five years they moved to the Kalona com-munity in the fall of 1943, where he spent the rest of his life. To this union were born seven children, all of whom survive with his widow. Daniel and Joe, both of Kalona; Ruby, Fannie Mae, Marie Arlene, Elijah and Dwight Glenn, all at home. Also surviving are one brother and five sisters. Dave, Oxford, Iowa; Barbara (Mrs. Monroe Bender), Kalona; Anna (Mrs. Menno Slabaugh), Iowa City, Iowa; Mattie (Mrs. Elmer Hohnberger), Phoenix, Ariz.; Tillie (Mrs. Andy Slabaugh), and Clara (Mrs. Mahlon A. Miller), bath of Kalona. Also many nieces and nephews, and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lizzie. Services were held on July 18, 1973, in the Tobias J. Miller home and burial in the Peter Miller Cemetery near Kalona.
