Short, Ivan J.
Ivan J. Short, 78, rural Archbold, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1996,
at the Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon, where he was admitted
earlier that morning.
Born May 22, 1918, near Archbold, he was a son of
John and Martha E. (Wyse) Short, and married Dorothy Short on June 9,
1946. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, he farmed and
worked at the former Essex Wire Co., Wauseon, for 21 years, until it
closed in the early 1980's. He was a member of the West Clinton
Mennonite Church, near Pettisville.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; one son, Wendell
(Rita) Short, Findlay; a grandson; three sisters, Louella Bender,
and Arlene Short, of Ravenna, Ohio; and Mrs. Verle (Velma) Seiler,
Carson City, Mich.
Services were Friday, 10:30 a.m. at the West Clinton
Mennonite Church with James Roynon, Dan Young, and Edward Diener as the
officiating pastors. Burial was in the Pettisville Cemetery.
