Wyse, Edna Burkholder


Edna Wyse, 96, Archbold, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, shortly after arrival at the Fulton County Health Center, in Wauseon.
   
She had resided at West Haven of Fairlawn Haven, Archbold, the last two years.
   
Born April 3, 1900, near Archbold, she was a daughter of Daniel and Eva (Hostetler) Burkholder. She married Edwin B. Wyse on Nov. 27, 1923, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1990. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church, near Pettisville, where she was active in its WMSC.
   
She is survived by nieces. and nephews.
   
Services were today, Wednesday, 10:30 at the West Clinton Mennonite Church with James Roynon and Edward Diener as the officiating pastors. Burial was in the Pettisville Cemetery.

Wyse, Philip E. "Fox"


Philip E. "Fox" Wyse, 40, Stryker, was fatally injured in a plane accident near Findlay on Saturday morning, Dec. 20, 1997.
   
Born June 23, 1957, at Montpelier, he was a son of Mahler and Virgie (Schmucker) Wyse, and married Rebecca Wyse on March 2, 1985. A 1975 graduate of Stryker High School, he lived his lifetime in the Stryker/Archbold area, worked at Sauder Woodworking Co., Archbold, in process engineering the past 11 years, and was formerly employed by Wyse Electric Motor Repair and Roth Electric.  His memberships included Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker.
   
Surviving are his wife, Becky; one daughter, Seneca Fox Wyse, at home; his parents,  Mahler and Virgie Wyse, Archbold; two brothers, Tom (Dawn) Wyse, Stryker; and Ed (Joyce) Wyse, West Unity; three sisters, Dana Stalter, Wakarusa, Ind.; Mrs. Allen (Jeannie) Stuckey, Elkhart, Ind.; and Mrs. Harvey (Anne) Bok, Defiance.
   
Memorial services are Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Lockport Mennonite Church with Allen Rutter, Mark Miller, and Wendy Miller as the officiating pastors. Friends may call at the church 2-9 p,.m. on Tuesday.

Zook, Jacob K.
, 75, of Mifflintown, PA, died October 23, 1997, at his home. Born January 17, 1922 in Belleville, PA to Stephen W. and Mary E. Peachey Zook. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie S. [Byler] Zook, on March 30, 1984.

He is survived by his wife, Catharine M. [Swarey] Zook, whom he married December 1, 1984. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Esther M. Lee, Sarasota, FL, Amos B. Zook, Stephensville, TX, Irvin L. Zook, Stevens Point, WI, George J. Zook, Mifflintown, Mrs. Charles [Grace] Snyder, Stockton, NJ, C. Clifford Zook, Port Royal, Mrs. Thomas [Caprice Ellen] French, Mifflintown; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Zook, Ezra S. Zook and Moses J. Zook, all of Belleville, Daniel P. Zook, Allensville, Mrs. Kore [Sadie] Peachey, McVeytown, Stephen W. Zook Jr., Belleville, Mark L. Zook, Mifflin, Mrs. Irvin [Mary] Peachey, Belleville, Mrs. Sylvanus [Ada] Peachey, Bell Belleville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Jesse M. Zook and David N. Zook, sister Katie B. Yoder.

He was a farmer, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Hope Mennonite Fellowship, Port Royal, PA.

Service was October 27, 1997 at Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, Belleville, with ministers Eli King, Earl Peachey and Leon Horning officiating. Interment was in Locust Grove Cemetery.
