Nafziger, Ada M.

Ada M. Nafziger, 87, Archbold, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold, where she had resided since Nov. 12, 1998.
           
Born Oct. 6, 1913, near Pettisville, she was a daughter of Samuel and Ida (Nofziger) Crossgrove. She married Orval Nafziger on Feb. 6, 1934, and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1998. She was a lifelong resident of the Archbold/Pettisville area, and a charter member of the Zion Mennonite Church.
           
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Waldo (Barb) Aeschliman, Mrs. Merle (Charlene) Short, and Mrs. Richard (Sara) Nafziger, all of Archbold; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Vernon (Marie) Frey, Archbold.
Memorial services were Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Zion Mennonite Church. Ronald Guengerich and Tim Short were the officiating pastors. Burial in the Pettisville Cemetery preceded the service.

Nafziger, David Lloyd


Born: 2-28-1936, Belleville, Mifflin Co., Pa.  Died: 6-28-2001, Lancaster, Pa.

Son of: Emanuel B. and Fronie Peachey Nafziger

Survivors: daughters, Dawn (John) Wilson, Annette (Scott) Walters, both of Stevens, Pa., and Janet (Brett) Wenger of Brownstown, Pa.   One son, Arthur of New Holland, Pa.  Grandchildren: 5.
 
He was a heavy equipment operator for D.M. Stoltzfus Inc., Leola, Pa.  He also was a taxi driver for the Amish Community.  David attended Bart Mennonite Church, Christiana, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Kreider.

Services: Millwood Mennonite Church, Amish Rd., Gap, Pa. on Monday, July 2, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Marlin Nafziger Officiating.  Interment in adjoining cemetery.

Nafziger,
Earl A.

Earl A. Nafziger, 85, Pettisville, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, in Fulton Manor Nursing Home, Wauseon.
           
Born April 8, 1915, near Archbold, he was a son of Charley and Malinda (Rufenacht) Nafziger. In 1938, he married Blanche Wyse, who survives. He was a farmer and former employee of Archbold Ladder Co. He was a member of Central Mennonite Church, Archbold. In his retirement years, he was a deliveryman for soup kitchens and food banks in the Toledo area.
           
Also surviving are three daughters, Janice, Archbold; Mrs. Harold (Rachel) Lindsay, Maugansville, Md.; and Rhoda Schrag, Goshen, Ind.; nine sons, Charles (Esther), LaJunta, Colo.; Ralph, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Ellis (Pat), Robert (Deborah), and John (Beth), Wauseon; Joseph (Joyce), Kissimmee, Fla.; Emerson (Cynthia), Champaign, Ill.; Verlin (Donna), Whitmore Lake, Mich.; and Roger (Laurie), Goshen; brother, Vern (Evelyn), Archbold; sister, Pauline Rossman, Wauseon; and 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
           
Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Jeffrey Smith, Cliff Brubaker, Rhoda Schrag, and Wanda Stopher were the officiating pastors. Burial preceded the service in Pettisville Cemetery.

Nafziger,
Irene B.

Irene B. Nafziger, 89, Archbold, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home,  Archbold, where she had resided since Aug. 23, 2000.
           
Born April 13, 1912, near Archbold, she was a daughter of Simon and Lizzie (Nofziger) Grieser. She married Clarence Nafziger on Dec. 25, 1959, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1971. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a dental assistant since the early 1950s, and worked in the office of Hal Hackett for many years. She was a Cherry Coat volunteer at the Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon, for many years, and a member of the Central Mennonite Church.
           
Surviving is one step-son, Robert W. Nafziger, Archbold; 10 step-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren.
           
Memorial services were Thursday, 11 a.m. at the church. Cliff Brubaker and Charles Gautsche were the officiating pastors. Burial preceded the service at Lockport Cemetery.

Nofziger
, Roy. E.

Roy. E. Nofziger, 87; Archbold, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Fulton Manor Nursing Home, Wauseon, where he had resided since April 4.
           
Born July 22, 1913, near Wauseon, he was a son of Jacob and Caroline (Burkholder) Nofziger, and married Lucille Frey on July 22, 1934. A resident of the Pettisville area many years, he moved to the Fairlawn Complex in Archbold in 1993.
           
He was a farmer, and Pettisville Grain Co. co-owner and operator from 1947 until his retirement in 1985. He served on the Tiffin Valley Bank board of directors for several years and was a charter member of the North Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon.
           
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; two sons, Rodney (Sandra) Nofziger, Pettisville; and Terry (Jan) Nofziger, Paoli, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs, Lowell "Sie" (Jueldine) Rupp, Pettisville; and Mrs. Mark (Jeanne) Birky, Hopedale, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
           
Memorial services were Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Fairlawn Chapel, Archbold. Brad Faler, Gary Blosser, and Charles Gautsche were the officiating pastors. Burial in Pettisville Cemetery.

Peachey, Baby Boy
, infant son of Norman I. and Sadie A. (Byler) Peachey of Belleville, PA was stillborn at Friday, March 16, 2001, at home.

Also surviving are: brothers and sisters, Israel E., Salinda M., Lois S., and Sylvia B. Peachey, all at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman E. Byler, Belleville; maternal great-grandmother, Sadie Byler, Belleville; paternal grandparents, Jacob J. and Katie M. Peachey, Belleville; and paternal great-grandmother, Annie L. Peachey, Belleville.

Graveside services were held at Saturday March 17, 2001 at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville, with minister David J. Peachey officiating. Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Peachey, Elsie B. Glick
, 89, of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, PA, formerly of Belleville, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at the manor. Born Jan. 3, 1912, in Belleville, PA to Gideon and Nancy (Yoder) Glick. Her husband, Roy I. Peachey, whom she married May 10, 1934, died Dec. 9, 1999.

Surviving are: children, Mrs. Raymond J. (Arlene) Byler, Mrs. Lee (Marjorie) Laughlin, and R. Robert Peachey, all of Belleville; brother and sister, Elam Glick and Alma Yoder, both of Belleville; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Sylvanus Glick, Jesse Glick, and Cora Byler.

She was a member of the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class and belonged to the Farm City Vacation Program.

Services will be held Friday Jan 19, 2001 at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, with ministers Max Zook, Mayard Beitzel and Erie Renno officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. The Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, is in charge of arrangements.

Peachey, Leah R.
, 86, of Belleville, PA, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at her home. Born Dec. 9, 1914, in Belleville, to Joseph Y. and Fannie R. (Renno) Peachey.

She is survived by sisters, Linda E. Peachey and Elsie M. Peachey, Belleville.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron J. peachey and an infant brother.

Earlier in life, she was employed in the processing department and the bakery of A.J. Peachey's. She was a member of Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, Belleville.

Her service will be held Wednesday Oct 24, 2001 at the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, Belleville, with Bishop Eli B. King and ministers, Daniel N. King, David S. King and Earl D. Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Green Lane Cemetery. The Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, is in charge of arrangements.

Peachey, Leonard L.
, 84, of Belleville, PA died Friday, April 6, 2001, at his residence. Born May 11, 1916, in Greenwood, DE, he was a son of the late Ezra J. and Ella Mae (Stoltzfus) Peachey.

His wife Mollie V. (Hartzler) Peachey, whom he married May 1, 1938, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. John (Alta) Auker, Thompsontown, Mrs. Jesse Lee (Ann) Peachey, Belleville, Sara D. Peachey, Fayetteville, Mrs. Orlyn (Dianne) Saner, McAlisterville and Mrs. Frank (Gladys) Turnbull, Spokane, WA; a brother, Ezra J. Peachey; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Peachey, Merle Peachey and Norman Peachey, and by sisters, Thelma Byler and Viola Scheffel.

He was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville, PA. He had served as an EMT with Big Valley Ambulance Club. His funeral will be held Monday April 9, 2001 at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville, with Max Zook, Erie Renno, Maynard Beitzel and Gregg Kanagy officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Petersheim, Fannie S.

Born: 10-28-1917, Upper Leacock Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa.  Died: 6-3-2001, Leola, Lancaster Co., Pa.

Daughter of: Late Eli and Rebecca Stoltzfus Petersheim

Survived by one sister: Katie S. Stoltzfus of Leola, Pa.

Member of: Old Order Amish Church

Fannie was a domestic worker for several families over the Years.
Services: Family and friends invited to attend service from the home Of Christ S. Beiler, 317 Brethren Church Road, Leola, Pa. on Tuesday, At 11:00 a.m. (Standard time).  Burial will be in Myers Amish Cemetery, Leola, Pa.
