Weirich, Martha Paulina Slabach
, 78, Augusta, Wis., died December 18, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital, Chippewa Falls, Wis. She was born March 15, 1923 in Elkart Co., IN to Joseph and Lydia A. (Miller) Slabach. She married Eli D. Weirich Jan 4, 1945. She was a member of the Augusta Mennonite Church Augusta, Wis.

Surviving are her husband, Eli and six sons, Burdette (Elaine) Weirich, Merrill, Wis., Joseph (Effie) Weirich, Summerville., MO., Daniel (Sara) Weirich, Wakarusa, IN; Gary Weirch, Parker, Ariz., Gaylord (Rachel) Weirich, Stonelake, Wis., and Michael (Elizabeth) Weirich, Bethel, PA.; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six sisters and three brothers.

Preceding are one daughter, Viola; two grandchildren, Philip and Crystal; one brother, Freeman; and two sisters, Ruby and Ida Mae.

Funeral service was December 22, 2001 at the Augusta Mennonite Church Augusta, Wis. Buried in the ajoining cemetery.

Born: 2-18-1907, Blue Ball, Lancaster Co., Pa. Died: 5-29-2001, Lancaster, Pa.

Wife of: John N. Wenger (7-19-1907 / 6-15-1992)

Daughter of: Henry M. and Mary Martin Sensenig

Mother of: Melvin S. (Janette Kreider) Wenger of Lancaster, Lester S (Jane Stauffer) Wenger, and John S. (Esther Garber) Wenger, both of Manheim, Pa., Earl S. (Rose Enck) Wenger of Leola, Irvin S. (Janet Stoner) Wenger of Guatemala, Ivan S. (Nancy Stauffer) Wenger of Lititz.
Daughters: Ruth (Phares W.) Weaver of Ephrata, Irene (Harry) Zimmerman of Lititz, Miriam (John J.) Arbaugh of Stuarts Draft, Va.,
Phoebe Ann (Melvin N.) Sensenig of East Earl, Esther (Donald) Gingrich of Lancaster, and Lois (Leon) Sensenig of British Columbia.

Grandchildren: 45. Great-Grandchildren: 97. Great-Great-Grandchildren: 18

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Amos, Titus and Luke Sensenig, And three sisters, Anna Sensenig, Ruth Shirk and Lena Schnupp

Phoebe was a member of Carpenter's Mennonite Church, Talmage, Pa., where she was a deacon and taught Sunday School Service: Groffdale Mennonite Church, N. Groffdale Road, Leola, on Monday At 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Lloyd Hoover, Glenn A. Hoover, Wilbur Lind, And Deacon James Horning officiating. Burial in adjoining cemetery.

Wyse, Ilva E. King

   
Ilva E. Wyse, 94, Archbold, died Saturday morning, April 21, 2001, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold.

Born Oct. 17, 1906, near Archbold, she was the daughter of Harvey and Carrie (Rupp) King, and married Leland Wyse on July 8, 1926. She lived in the Toledo and Wauseon areas, and in retirement in 1990, she and her husband moved into the Fairlawn Complex. One year ago they moved into the Fairlawn Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper, and a member of the North Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon.
   
Surviving are her husband, Leland, 1iving at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home; four sons, Lowell (Louise) Wyse, and Richard (Grace) Wyse, Archbold; Denver (Patricia) Wyse, Mesa, Ariz.; and Everett (Sharon) Wyse, Wauseon; three daughters, Mrs. Paul E. (Evelyn) Grieser, Archbold; Mrs. Brent (Shirley) Shenk, Coshocton; and Mrs. Mike (Charlene) Steuer, Walled Lake, Mich.; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numer- ous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Glen (Margaret) King,. Sarasota, Fla.; three sisters, Mildred Smith, Titusville, Fla.; Beulah Grieser, Archbold; and Doris Nafziger, Goshen, Ind.

Memorial services are today, Wednesday, 2 p.m. at the Fairlawn Chapel. Brad Faler, Charles Gauttsche, and James Mason were the officiating pastors. Burial in the Pettisville Cemetery.

Yousey, Edward Clayton
, of Hesston, Kansas died September 11, 2001 at the same place.

He was born February 24, 1916 at Pigeon, Huron Co., MI to John and Minnie (Ulrich) Yousey. John was born November 12, 1875 and died November 29, 1958. Minnie was born July 30, 1888 and died September 13, 1962.

On August 19, 1945 he was married to Helen Pearl King, who was born March 1, 1923 and survives.

Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn and Junior Kauffman, Jan and Jim Diller, Barb and Paul Yoder, and Rhonda and Dave Shank, one son, Don Yousey and Jane Yousey,

Memorial services were held September 14, 2001 at Schowalter Villa Chapel with burial in Garden Church Cemetery rural Hesston, Kansas.

Zimmerman, Christian S
.

Born: 11-15-1909, East Earl Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa.  Died: 6-18-2001, Lancaster General Hosp., Lancaster, Pa.

Husband of: Mabel M. Halligan Zimmerman, born 11-16-1911 and died 3-30-1997.  SS# 161-54-6705

Son of: Martin L. and Hettie Sauder Zimmerman

Survivors: Son, G. Harold (Irene S. Frankhouser) Zimmerman of  Akron, Pa.  Grandchildren: 4.   Great-Grandchildren: 7.  Sister, Martha (Paul) Stauffer of East Earl.

Preceded in death by: Five brothers, George, Jacob, Adam, Clayton, Martin

Christian was a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference).  He was a cabinetmaker for Horning Chair Shop in Ephrata, Pa. Retiring in 1989, after 25 years of employment.

Services: Services and burial, Weaverland Mennoite Cem., East Earl, Pa.

Zimmerman, Ruth Nolt

Born: 9-1-1918, E. Cocalico Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa.  Died: 6-9-2001, Lititz, Pa.

Daughter of: Late Mahlon M. and Esther Nolt Zimmerman

Survivors: Two sister, Alverna (Earl) Masto of Parkesburg, Pa., And Rhoda (Robert) Landis of Leola.

Brothers, Titus N. (Ursula Denlinger) Zimmerman of Stevens, Pa., James N. (Jean Burkholder) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Pa., and Mahlon N. (Rozanne Landis) Zimmerman.

Ruth was a lab technician and a Practical Nurse.  She served as A technician for the Mennonite Central Committee at Nazareth Hospital in Ethiopia for three years, and In the mountains of West Virginia.

She was a member of Forest Hill Mennonite Church, Clay Twp.
Services: Life Celebration from Landis Valley Homes, Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, Pa. on Wed., June 13, 2001, at 2 pm. With Revs. Donald W. Good and Calvin Yoder officiating.  Interment in Forest Hill Mennonite Cem., Clay Twp.

Zook, Delmar E.
, 41, of Belleville, PA died Dec. 30, 2001, at his home. Born April 24, 1960, in Lewistown, PA to Mark L. Zook and Emma S. (Peachey) Zook. His wife, Lena L. (Peight) Zook, whom he married Dec. 31,1981, survives. He was a member of Valley View Amish-Mennonite Church, Belleville.

Survived by his wife Lena and children, Mary Beth Zook, Diane M. Zook, Sharon E. Zook, Loretta M. Zook and Daryl A. Zook, all of Belleville; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Harry (Susan) Yoder, Aroda, VA, Mrs. John (Loretta) Hostetler, Reedsville, Norman R. Zook, Mifflin, Mrs. Enos (Lucy) Kurtz, Adams, NY, Mrs. Marvin (Rosa) Knisly, Hutchinson, KS, Mrs. Daniel (Wilma) Stoltzfus, Lewisburg, Marcus I. Zook, Mifflin, Mary G. Zook, Free Union, VA, Jesse M. Zook and Amy C. Zook, both of Mifflin.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Andrew James Zook on Sept. 26, 1982, and Mark L. Zook on March 5, 2001.

Funeral service was Jan 2, 2002 at Valley View Amish-Mennonite Church, Belleville, PA with Norman Swartzentruber, Eli King and Earl Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville.

Born: 4-30-1988, East Earl Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa.  Died: 2-23-2001, East Earl, Pa.

Son of: Joseph B. Sr. and Fannie Stoltzfus Zook, who survive

Survivors: Sisters, Katie Mae (Wayne) Swords of New Holland, Pa., Amanda, Marian, Miriam, Lillian Zook, all at home; brothers, Steven
and John, both at home; and maternal grandparents, Samuel K. and  Sylvia Stoltzfus of Lancaster, Pa.

Preceded in death by a brother, Reuben, and a sister, Suzanne.

Services: From the Joseph Sr. residence, on Monday, Feb., 26, 2001 at 9:00 a.m.  Intement in Millwood Cem. Family being served by Furman Home for Funerals, Leola, Pa.

Zook, Lena E.
, 78, of Belleville, PA died Oct. 14, 2001 at Valley View Haven. Born Dec. 1, 1922, in Belleville, PA to Isaac and Emma M. (Zook) Zook. She was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, the Beacon Light Sunday School Class, and the Women's Day Sewing Group.

Survived by a sister, Mrs. Alvin (A. Margaret) Yoder, 50 Trella St., Belleville.

She was preceded in death by brothers, S. Melvin Zook and Earl E. Zook.

Funeral service was Oct 19, 2001 at the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville, with the Rev. Laban Peachey and the Rev. Ivan E. Yoder officiating. Interment was in the Allensville Mennonite Cemetery.

Zook, Mark L.
, 71, of Mifflin, PA died March 5, 2001, in Sarasota, Fla. Born March 11, 1929, in Belleville, PA to Stephen W. Sr. and Mary E. (Peachey) Zook. His wife, Emma S. (Peachey) Zook, whom he married Nov. 13, 1952, survives. He was a member of the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, Belleville, PA

Survived by his wife Emma and children, Mrs. Harry (Susan) Yoder, Aroda, Va., Mrs. John (Loretta) Hostetler, Reedsville, Norman R. Zook, Marcus Zook, and Jesse M. Zook, all of Mifflin, Mrs. Enos (Lucy) Kurtz, Adams, NY, Delmar E. Zook, Belleville, Mrs. Marvin (Rosa) Nisly, Hutchinson, Kan., Mrs. Daniel (Wilma) Stoltzfus, Lewisburg, Mary Zook, Free Union, Va., and Amy Zook, Martinsburg, Ohio; brothers and sisters, Ezra Zook, Lizzie Zook, and Daniel Zook, all of Allensville, Moses J. He was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Jacob and Jesse Zook, and one sister, Katie Yoder.

Funeral service was March 10, 2001 at the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, Belleville, with ministers, Eli King, Earl Peachey, and Jonas J. E. Miller officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Zook, Mary S. Kurtz
, 80, of McVeytown, PA died Sept. 13, 2001, in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, John and Ella Zook, in East Waterford, PA. Born in Reedsville on Aug. 26, 1921, to Enos J. and Mary E. (Sharp) Kurtz. Her husband, Jesse M. Zook, he died 1983.

She was a member of the Mattawana Mennonite Church

Survived by children, Lena M. Lakjer and her husband, Philip R., of Lansdale, Floyd E. Zook and his wife, Lois, of Telford, Marlin L. Zook and his wife, Paulene, and John M. Zook and his wife, Ella, all of East Waterford, Mary E. Banker and her husband, Frank, of Springfield, TN, Kathryn L. Breon and her husband, Darwin, and Alan D. Zook and his wife, Ruth, all of McVeytown; sisters, Lena M. Kauffman, Mill Creek, Amanda N. Yoder and her husband, Noah, of Lewisburg, and Bertha E. Peachey and her husband, Mahlon, of Belleville; brothers, Christian J. Kurtz and his wife, Grace, of Lewisburg, and Joseph E. Kurtz and his wife, Julia, of Belleville, 21 grandchildren, two foster-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse and infant son, Jesse Jr, in 1946; sisters, Elsie M. Yoder and Sadie E. Peachey; and a brother, John T. Kurtz.

Interment was at 1 p.m. Sept 16, 2001 in Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Valley View Amish Mennonite Belleville, PA.
