Elizabeth tended a stand at Market for 49 years. She was a member of Mellinger Mennonite Church, Lancaster, Pa.

WEAVER, Paul R.
Born: 10-7-1921, West Earl Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. Died: 4-14-2002, East Earl, Pa.

Husband of: Anne E. Gehman Weaver, died 1999. Son of: Late Ivan and Mary Rutt Weaver.

Paul was a member of Centerville Mennonite Church where he served as a minister.  He was an electrician, having worked for Edgar H. Martin, Ephrata and Conestoga Wood Specialities in East Earl in maintenance Departments and stock room.

Survivors:

Sons, David G. (Orpha Byer) Weaver of Middlefield, Ohio, Dale G. (Dorothy Holt) Weaver of East Earl, Myron G. (Rachel Herr) Weaver of Reinholds, Pa.

Daughters, Joan G. (Clarence) Bange of Dover, Pa., Rhoda G. (Lewis) Strite of Glenfield, NY, and Miriam G. (Philip) Rudolph of Monterey, Tenn.

Grandchildren: 42. Great-grandchildren: 43.

Preceded in death by sister Arlene Kennel and brother, Mervin Weaver.

Services: Centerville Mennonite Church on Thursday, April 18, 2002, at 10 a.m. with Bishop Harold Good, Roy Zimmerman, and Clair Weaver officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Samuel Roy Weaver, 98, of Carlisle, [PA] died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in Harrisburg Hospital, [Harrisburg, PA]
Born Feb. 7, 1904, in Blair County,[PA] he was a son of the late Martin M. and Bertha A. Bookwalter Weaver and the widower of Leah Hertzler Weaver.

A farmer in York County,[PA] he was the oldest living member of Slate Hill Mennonite Church. [His wife Leah died 1933, he rasied the 3 small children & lived alone 69 yrs.]
Mr. Weaver is survived by a daughter, Bertha M. Martin of Mt. Joy, [PA]; two sons, Chester C. of Carlisle, [PA] and Harold H. of Massachusetts; a brother, Joseph of Carlisle,[PA]; a sister, Viola Weaver of Carlisle, [PA]; 13 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Slate Hill Mennonite Church, 1352 Slate Hill Road, Camp Hill, [PA] with Bishop Paul W. Nisly, Bishop Harold Weaver Jr. and Chester Weaver Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery, Lower Allen Township. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday following services at the church.
Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, [PA] is in charge of the arrangements.

Marie was a member of Clearview Mennonite Church, Manhiem, Lancaster Co., Pa. She died after a brief illness.

Whorton Jr., William "Bill" A.
, 79, of Hagerstown, MD died May 1, 2002, at Washington County Hospital. He was born May 19, 1922, in Hagerstown, MD to William A. Sr. and Lena P. Nichols Whorton.  He was married to Arbutus M. Carter Whorton.

He was a member of Community Mennonite Church in Hagerstown, VA. He was a retired veteran of World War II.

Survived by his wife, four daughters, Anna M. Roberts and Mary L. Gross, both of Hagerstown, MD; Dorothy L. Rettig of Sharpsburg, MD and Melody J. Coulter of Boonsboro, MD; one son, William A. Whorton III; two sisters, Rosie Reeder and Francis Kerschner, both of Hagerstown, MD; one brother, Roy E. Whorton; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles C. Whorton and Raymond L. Whorton; and one stepsister, Pearl Moats.

Services were May 3, 2002 at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Lewis M. Coss officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.

Witmer, Fannie M. Myers
Sept. 7, 1914 - Feb. 26, 2002

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Fannie M. Witmer, 87, of 180 B Menno Village, and formerly of 1853 Edgar Ave., died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Menno Haven Nursing Home.

Born Sept. 7, 1914, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late David L. and Lydia Wadel Myers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Witmer.

She was a self-employed private home housekeeper. Earlier, she worked at J. Schoeneman Co.

She was a member of Rowe Mennonite Church.

She is survived by one foster daughter, Margaret Diller of Shippensburg, Pa.; stepgrandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one stepdaughter and one brother.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Rowe Mennonite Church. Bishop Allen Martin and the Rev. John Horst will officiate. Burial will be in Old Rowe Cemetery, Southampton Township, Pa.

Visitation will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.

Arrangements are by Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg.

Wyse, Rochelle June

Rochelle June Wyse, 16, Goshen, Ind. died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at Goshen General Hospital from injuries suffered in a car accident near Goshen. She moved to Goshen from Archbold in 1989.
   
Born March 6, 1986, to Sam and June (Short) Wyse, she was a sophomore, at Bethany Christian School, Goshen. A high school cheerleader, she was also a member of the volleyball arid softball teams, and a 4-H club member. Her memberships included Waterford Mennonite Church where she served on the Youth Council.
   
Survivors include her parents, Sam and June Wyse; one sister, Alyssa Ray, Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Matthew (Kristin) Wyse, Dayton, Ohio; grandparents, Ruthann Short Oyer, Patricia and Charles Wyse, and step-grandfather, James Oyer, all of Archbold.
Service is 10 a.m. Friday in the church with calling today, Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. Burial is in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Yoder, Amara Rose
September 24, 2002 - September 25, 2002

Yoder, Amara Rose, 1-day old daughter of Marvin and Brenda (Miller) Yoder, 10392 Sugarcreek, Ohio died Sept. 25, 2002, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Ohio.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are sisters, Kammi Raquele and her twin, Kira Brooke, both of the home; grandparents, David and Mary Ann Miller Jr. of Millersburg and Fannie Yoder of Sugarcreek; and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Weaver of Holmesville

A private graveside service was Sept. 26, 2002at Christian Life Mennonite Church Cemetery in Beach City. Pastor Dan Mast will officiate.

Yoder, Lester W.
September 10, 1927 - August 19, 2002

Yoder, Lester W. 74, of Baltic and formerly of Sugarcreek, Ohio, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 10, 1927, in LaGrange, Ind. to William Yoder and Emma (Mullet) Yoder Miller. He married Minerva (Mullet) Yoder on Jan. 4, 1949. She died April 17, 1994. He married Nettie (Miller) Yoder on Dec. 16, 1996, and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife Nettie and sons, Robert Ray Yoder of Canton and Willis Edward (Susie) Yoder of Sugarcreek; daughters, Mrs. Owen (Louella Kay) Troyer of Holmesville and Mrs. Bruce (Kathy) Walker of New Philadelphia; brothers, Herman Yoder and Larry (Sara Ann) Yoder, both of Sugarcreek, Joe (Janet) Yoder of Millersburg and Bill Jr. (Mary) Yoder of Berlin; sister, Mrs. Roy L. (Fannie) Miller of Dundee; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild

Services were Aug 22, 2002 at Longenecker Mennonite Church in Winesburg with Pastor Glenn Coblentz officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery.

Yoder, Ruth B. Burkholder


Nov. 26,1914-March 2, 2002

GOSHEN - Ruth R. Yoder, 87, of 61371 C.R. 17, died at 4 a.m. Saturday (March 2, 2002) at Valley View Health Center, Elkhart.  Mrs. Yoder was born on Nov. 26, 1914, in Cullom, Ill., to    Harry and Sara (Wenger) Burkholder and married Paul E. Yoder 1935. He died on Nov. 15, 1999.

She is survived by two sons, Carlton (Jan) and Marvin (Rachel), both of Goshen; two sisters, Bertha Goetz and Mildred Yoder, both of Goshen; one brother, Clayton Burkholder of Goshen; seven grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Hoover, and one brother, Lowell Burkholder.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa. Burial will be at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at Olive East Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at Olive Mennonite Church at 10 a.m. The Rev. Dan Miller will officiate.

She lived most of her life in the Dunlap area after moving from Illinois with her parents in 1915. She and her late husband owned and operated a dairy farm.
Mrs. Yoder was a 1932 Concord High School graduate and a member of Olive Mennonite Church, where she was instrumental in starting the junior Girls activities.

Memorials may be given to the Olive Mennonite Church Library Fund.

Zeager, Russell S.
April 22, 1915 - October 31, 2002

Russell S. Zeager, 87, died Thursday evening October 31, 2002 at Rheems Nursing Center. He as born April 22, 1915 in West Donegal Township Lancaster Co., PA, he was the son of the late Paul L. Sr. and Mamie Lehman Zeager. He was married 62 years in September to Anna Mae Givens Zeager,

Rev. Zeager was the pastor of Strickler Mennonite Church in Middletown from 1947 until his retirement in 1993. He also worked at the family-owned Zeager's Sawmill and later for B&G Lumber in Elizabethtown. He enjoyed working on the family hunting cabin in Union County.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Lloyd of Lancaster and Samuel, married to Joy Zeager of Elizabethtown; four daughters, Mary, married to Melvin Sweikert of Lancaster, Miriam, married to Clifford Campos of Elizabethtown, Martha, married to Jay Greiner of Harrisburg, and Margaret, married to Marlin Kauffman of MifflintownHe was the oldest of 17 children. …

Levi was a self-employed woodworker and furniture maker.  He was a member of Old Order Amish Church.

Services: Funeral from the Mose Glick residence, Eden Rd., Quarryville,  Pa. on Monday, October 21, 2002, at 9:00 a.m..  Interment in Georgetown
Cemetery.  Arrangements by Furman Funeral Home, Leola, Pa.

Zuercher, Glada C. Grieser

Glada C. Zuercher, 92, Archbold, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at Fairlawn Haven, Archbold, where she had resided since March 23, 2000.
    Born Nov. 17, 1909, near Wauseon, she was a daughter of Albert and Priscilla (Vonier) Grieser. She married Albert Zuercher on April 8, 1937, and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1992.
    A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she had been a custodian at the Archbold Area Schools, and with her husband was the custodian at the Central Mennonite Church. She was a member of Central Mennonite Church, rural Archbold.
    Survivors include two sons, David (Becky) Zuercher, Berthoud, Colo., and Robert Zuercher , Archbold; two daughters, Mrs. Dave (Annabelle) Kratz, Clarksville, Md., and Mrs. Glenn (Sharon) Bart, Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two brothers;
Kenneth Grieser, Evansport, and Wayne (Jane) Grieser, West Unity; two sisters, Edith Wyse and Rutheda Stuckey, both of Archbold.
    Services are Friday, 11 a.m., at the church. Jeffrey Smith and Cliff Brubaker are the officiating pastors.
    Burial follows in the Pettisville Cemetery.
    Friends may call at Short Funeral Home in Archbold from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday.
