2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 27, 1922, in Conemaugh
Twp., Somerset Co., PA to Jacob Earl and Barbara (Yoder) Thomas. His
wife of 57 years, the former Mary Shetler. He was a member of Kaufman
Mennonite Church, he served as Sunday school teacher, council member
and trustee.
Survived by his wife Mary and children: Donna, wife of Joseph Beamer,
Townsend, Del.; Darlene, wife of Dale Miller, Goshen, Ind.; Denise,
wife of Robert Anderson, Denver, Pa.; Debra, wife of Julian Chaves,
Hollsopple, PA; and Danita, wife of Robert Speigle, Boswell, PA; 10
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Twila Hill,
Florida, and Zona, and husband, Glen Berkshire, Virginia.
Preceded in death by parents; sister, Beulah Sakon; infant sister,
Naomi; and brother, Lester Thomas.
Funeral service was July 17, 2006 at Kaufman Mennonite Church,
Davidsville, PA officated by the Rev. Don Hamsher and the Rev. Keith
Yoder. Interment was in Blough Mennonite Cemetery
Holsopple, PA.

Grace Linda, 92, of North Newton, KS died November 17,
2006 at North Newton, KS. She was born February 17, 1914 at
Herbert, Saskatchewan to Henry & Agnes (Flaming)
Toews.
Surviving is a sister, Wilma Toews. She was preceded in death by
a brother, Franklin Toews
Memorial services were held December 1, 2006 at Bethel College
Mennonite Church, North Newton, KS with burial in Hillsboro MB
Cemetery, Marion County, KS.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Alvin D., 88, of Plain
City, Ohio died January 17, 2006. He was born to Daniel &
Mary (Frey) Troyer. He was married to Mary Yoder who survives.
Surviving are children, Robert (Cynthia) Troyer, James (Gwen) Troyer,
Charlene (Ed) Byers,
6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held January 21, 2006 at Sharon Mennonite Church, Plain
City, Ohio with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

John Mast, 80, of Harrisonburg, VA died September 27,
2006. He was born to Herbert N. & Sadie (Mast) Troyer.
He was married to Amy Lorraine Hertzler, who is deceased.
Surviving are children, Rose Marie Troyer, John Terry Troyer, Herbert
N. Troyer, John Mark Troyer, six grandchildren, and two
great-grandchildren.

Raymond A., 89, of Sugarcreek, OH died August 11, 2006 at Walnut
Creek, OH. He was born November 17, 1916 in Holmes County, OH to
Andrew & Ada (Miller) Troyer. On February 22, 1940 he was
married to Lizzie Mae Troyer, who is deceased.
Surviving are daughters: Mrs. Bimp (Mary) Hawthorne, Mrs. Avery (Ada)
Yoder,
sons: Marvin "Red" (Rena) Troyer, Henry (Jerri) Troyer, Raymond Troyer
Jr., Charles "Chuck" Troyer, 11 grandchildren, and 19
great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth Miller, Mrs. Dorothy Byler,
Mrs. Amanda Mullet, Mrs. Freeman (Ada) Mullet, Mrs. Emanuel (Nettie)
Chupp, brother: Noah (Emma) Troyer,

Miller.
Predeceased by sisters: Ann Miller, Mary Schlabach, brothers: John
Troyer, Mose Troyer, and Joni Troyer.

Walnut Creek, OH with burial in Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek, OH.

Troyer, Ruth Ann , 54, of
rural Arcola, died at 11:17 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2006, at her
residence.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, September 26, at the Levi
Miller Jr. residence in rural Arcola with Bishop Reuben Kaufman
officiating. Burial was in Otto Cemetery, rural Arthur. Shrader Funeral
Home, Arcola , is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Troyer was born February 3, 1952, in Douglas County. She was the
daughter of Noah J. and Alpha Beachy Otto. She married Ivan Troyer in
Douglas County. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Noah Troyer and wife Leona .of La Russell,
Missouri; two daughters, Lizzie Ann Troyer and Esther Troyer, both of
Arcola; two grandchildren, Daniel and Elizabeth Troyer of La Russell;
one brother, Aden Otto and. wife Darlene of Arthur; one sister, Naomi
Sue Otto of Arthur; one step foster son* Andy J. Miller and wife Anna
of Lebanon, Missouri; and stepmother, Nancy Otto of Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Troyer was a home-maker and member of the Old
Order Amish.
*Note: This should read “one step foster brother” – correction from
Andy’s sister, Liz Kauffman.

Newton, Harvey Co., Kansas died January 28, 2006 at Newton, Harvey Co.,
Kansas. She was born December 9, 1919 at Turpin, Oklahoma to
David & Sarah (Kroeker) Buller. On June 29, 1941 she was
married to Vernard Wilbur Unruh, who is deceased.
Surviving are children, Roger, Marilyn (Unruh) Johnson, Gregory, 9
grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held February 1, 2006 at Bethel College Mennonite
Church, North Newton, HarveyCo., Kansas with burial in the Greenwood

Unruh, Verney L., 83, of Newton,
Kansas died July 8, 2006 at
Wichita, Kansas of complications from triple bypass surgery. He
was born May 8, 1923 at Bloomfield, Montana to Anthony & Anna
(Albrecht) Unruh. On July 7, 1946 he was married to Belva
Waltner, who survives.
Surviving are children, Judi and Peter Mollenkof, Pat and Bruce Tilton,
Barbara and Ernest Beachey, Paul and Christine Unruh, 10 grandchildren,
and 1 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving: Helen Buller, sister; Leslie Unruh, brother; Evelyn
Klein, sister; Betty Blough, sister; Phyllis Lobdel, sister; Jim Unruh,
brother; and Gerald Unruh, brother.
Predeceased by siblings: Willard Unruh, brother; Robert Unruh, brother;
William Unruh, infant brother; and Anna Unruh, infant sister.
The funeral was held July 12, 2006 at First Mennonite Church, Newton,
Kansas with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas.

May Yoder, 98, of
Eureka, IL died February 23, 2006 at Eureka, IL. She was born
October 13, 1907 at Danvers, IL to Cary & Maud (Strubhar)
Yoder. On May 21, 1931 she was married to Ralph E. Vercler, who
is deceased.
Surviving is a foster daughter, Marcia Russell, 2 grandchildren, 5
great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Aneita Yoder.
The funeral was held March 2, 2006 at Calvary Mennonite Church,
Washington, IL with burial in Glendale Cemetery, Washington, IL.

Wayne Weldon, 90, of
Washington, IL died January 14, 2006 at Peoria, IL. He was born
June 04, 1915 at Washington, IL to Christian & Susan (Wagner)
Vercler. On May 04, 1944 he was married to Edna Eiisle, who
survives.
Surviving are a son, Richard Vercler, 4 grandchildren, 6
great-grandchildren and a brother, Harold (Alice) Vercler.
Predeceased by children: Susan Kay, Ruth Ann, Dorothy May and siblings:
Lloyd (Ina) Vercler, and Ralph Vercler.

KS after a period of declining health. He was born June 6, 1916
at Goessel, KS to Peter J. & Susie (Schmidt) Voth. On May 26,
1956 he was married to Virginia Casey, who survives.
Surviving are children, Janice Winter, Robert Blackmore, Linda Schill,
Wesley Voth, Galen Voth, Brian Voth, 25 grandchildren, and 35
great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Haile.
The funeral was held October 18, 2006 at Tabor Mennonite Chruch,
Newton, KS with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
