He was born December 5, 1924 to Howard S. and Mamie (Anglemoyer)
Garges. On March 16, 1946 he was married to Verna Detweiler, who
survives.
Surviving are children, Cheryl Landis, Jeanelle Yoder, two
grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are Esther Derstine, sister; and Arthur Garges,
brother. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Garges

Cairo, Nebraska. She was born June 6, 1936 at Broken Bow, Nebraska to
the late Jesse Earl and Della (Meyers) Cudaback. She was married to
Chester Wayne Gascho.

Jean Heisler, 74, of Nappanee, Elkhart County, Indiana died June
15, 2007 at Elkhart, Indiana from a heart attack. She
was born March 19, 1933 at Bourbon, Indiana to Lawrence and
Kathryn (Dinkeldein) Heisler. On June 5, 1953 she was married to
Welcome "Duke" Gaskill, who died March 26, 2006.
Surviving are her mother, two daughters, Cathy Mullett & Sara
(Doug) Hill, one son, Clint (Mary) Gaskill, seven grandchildren, and
six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Janet Johnson. She was preceded in
death by a son, Eric Gaskill.
Memorial services were held June 20, 2007 at North Main St. Mennonite
Church, Nappanee, Indiana with burial in the Sandridge
Cemetery, Indiana.

Marian R. Zehr , 94, of Lowville, NY died April 15, 2007 at
Lowville, NY of old age. She was born July 25, 1912 at Indian
River, NY to Joseph M. Zehr (07/05/1864-01/15/1938) and Lydia Roggie
Zehr (01/12/1874-06/08/1961).
On June 14, 1938 at Croghan, NY she was married to Allen Gingerich, who
was born July 16, 1909 and died January 22, 1951.
Surviving are two sons, Emanuel & Margaret of King of Prussia, PA,
and John & Delores of Wilcott, NY; a daughter Eunice & Andrew
Roggie of Lowville, NY, eleven grandchildren, and 17
great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Esther Moshier and a brother and
sister-in-law Vernon & Esther
Zehr, a sister-in-law, Mildred Zehr, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law
Andrew & Esther Gingerich, and a sister-in-law Irene Moshier.
She was preceded in death by a still-born son, five brothers Menno,
Samuel,Alvin, Amos, Michael; and three sisters Kathryn Swartzentruber,
Lena Zehr, and Martha Beller.
Marian's husband, Allen, was ordained minister of the Conservative
Mennonite Churches in Lewis County in November 1938. Allen passed away
suddenly is his sleep on January 22, 1951, at the age of 41.
Memorial services were held April 18, 2007 at Lowville Mennonite
Church, Lowville, Lewis County, NY with burial in the Croghan
Conservative Mennonite Cemetery, Croghan, NY.

Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN from natural causes. He was born January
5, 1919 at Buda, IL to Albert and Josephine (Miller)
Gingerich. On September 21, 1940 at Dennison, IA he was married
to Marian Foster, who was born July 28, 1921 and survives.
Surviving are children, Dick (Shari) Gingerich, Keith (Virginia)
Gingerich, four grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Phil Gingerich and Delbert (Joreen)
Gingerich.

1921 at Gap, Lancaster Co., PA to John and Katie (Smoker) Glick.
On November 4, 1943 he was married to Susie Lapp who was born November
26, 1923 and survives.
Surviving are children, Samuel L.& Anna Mary Glick, John V.,
Kenneth J, Merle E. & Denise Glick, J.Elvin Glick, Calvin W &
Sharon Glick, twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four
step great-grandchildren.

Forrey Glick, a brother, Samuel P. Glick and grandchildren,

she was married to James D. Good, who survives.

1924 at Great Bend, Kansas to Max and Effie (Unrh) Graber. On
October 17, 1948 at Pawnee Rock, Kansas she was married to Erwen Wenger
Graber, who was born April 10, 1920 and survives.
Surviving are children, Pamela & Melvin Wilson; Suzette &
Faizullah Kakar; Max & Susan Hijikata; Joel & Barbara Graber;
and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxlyn Schmidt.
After retirement she and her husband volunteered for Mennonite Disaster
Service and Mennonite Volunteer units such as Mennonite Housing in
Wichita, Eureka, Illinois, Brownsville, Texas; and Canadian NW

Emanuel W., 83, of Atlanta, IL died December 8, 2007 at Atlanta,
IL. He was born September 20, 1924 at Roanoke, IL to the late
Peter and Marie (Roth) Graber. On October 2, 1945 at Washington,
IL he was married to Nellie Piper, who was born June 18, 1923 and
survives.
Surviving are children, Lester Graber, Kenneth (Deanna) Graber, Marvin
(Sue) Graber, Ronald (Polly) Graber, Wayne Graber, Donald Graber, Karen
Maaks, Vicki Koller,
13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
A son, Emanuel Glenn Graber, and four brothers, Jacob Graber, Clarence
Graber, Chris Graber, Peter Graber, and a grandchild, Stacy Graber
preceded him in death.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, member of Taylor-Eckhardt
American Legion Post 913 in Armington, Illinois. He was an air
transportation technician and received numerous awards, including the
American Defense Ribbon, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater
Ribbon with 3 Overseas Service Bars, one Service Stripe, a Good Conduct
Medal and a
Bronze Air Medal. Campaign battles included Normandy, France, the
Ardennes, the Rhineland, Central Europe, Holland invasion, the Battle
of Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge. Emanuel farmed in the
Armington and Atlanta area and worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria
for 35 years,
retiring in 1989. He was a member of Hopedale Mennonite Church.
Memorial services were held December 11, 2007 at Hopedale Mennonite
Church, Hopedale, Tazewell County, Illinois with burial in Atlanta
Cemetery, Atlanta, Logan County, Illinois.

Swartzendruber. On October 10, 1998 she was married to La Verne
L. Graber, who survives. She had been married previously to
Leonard Leichty, June 6, 1940 and to Raymond Schlatter.
Surviving are children, Irvin Leichty, Elaine Canby, seven
grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dallas Leichty (Wilma).

surgery. He was born July 3, 1954 at Goessel, Marion Co.,

December 11, 1973 he was married to Connie Lyon, who survives.
Surviving are children, Jason Guhr, Charissa Guhr, Kendra Guhr, Nevin
Guhr, Nathaniel Guhr, one grandchild and two sisters Elfrieda Schmidt,
and Wilma Copeland.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton Guhr, and Marlin Guhr

Elton August, 86, of Naples, Florida died September 4, 2007 at
Naples, Collier County, Florida from cancer. He was born June 8,
1921 at Flanagan, Livingston County, Illinois to Christian J. and Agnes
(Albrecht) Gunden. Christian was born March 28, 1882 and died
December 18, 1961. Agnes was born January 29, 1888 and died
December 22, 1963.
On August 2, 1947 at Hopedale, Tazewell, Illinois he was married to
Leota Marjorie Nafziger, who was born February 24, 1926 and
survives. Their marriage was at Hopedale Mennonite Church with
Don Gunden, best man (brother of the groom) and Darlene Nafziger, maid
of honor (sister of the bride).
Surviving are children, Rebecca Jane Gunden Smith (Stephen Atwell);
Barbara Joan Gunden Thomas (Everett Jay); Steven Jay Gunden, (Deborah
Jean Rainwater); Carol Elaine Gunden;
six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother, Donald Edwin Gunden (Elsie Zimmerman)
and two sisters, Doris Evelyn Gunden Metzler (Carl), and Ruth Eileen
Gunden.
Brothers and sisters, Elva Lydia Gunden Huneryager, Lois Mary
Gunden Clemens; Orville John Gunden; Cleland Calvin Gunden, and Ralph
Jason Gunden preceded him in death.
He graduated Goshen College in 1947 with a BS degree and received his
MS degree from Indiana University in 1969.
