Martin, Abram Zeiset, 77, died in peacefully at his home
on Lowry Road in New Holland, PA on Sunday, August 26, 2007. Born in
New Holland on Jan. 3, 1930, he was the son of the late Jonas H. &
Emma Z. Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jeanette Hershey Martin; and 2
children, Sara Kathryn Martin, and Andrew Hershey Martin, both of
Lancaster.
Abram farmed in Lancaster County and Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was a
member of Calvary Church, Lancaster.
Also surviving are: 1 brother, Amos married to Irene Martin of
Intercourse; 2 sisters, Ruth married to William Van Slochem, and Lois
Martin, both of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a brother James.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley
Rd., Lancaster, on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. with interment
following in the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Friends will be received

Martin, Allen N., 92, of the Landis Homes Retirement Community,
formerly of Leola and Ephrata, entered into rest at Landis Homes,
Lititz on Saturday, December 8, 2007 following a brief illness.
He was born in East Earl, Pa, a son of the late Harry H. and Emma Nolt
Martin.
Allen was a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, East Earl, and
was a volunteer at the Ephrata Re-Uzit Shop, Meals On Wheels, and
Landis Homes.
He worked as a steel fabricator for N.E. Martin of Leola, and High
Steel of Lancaster prior to his retirement in 1980.
Surviving are 4 sons, Gilbert S., husband of Sylvia Stauffer Martin of
Strasburg, Mervin A. Martin of Millersville, Nelson E. Martin of
Ephrata, and Ronald L., husband of Jane Shirk Martin of Lancaster, 6
grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren,a brother, Lester, husband of Lois
Martin of Elizabethtown, and sister, Grace Good of New Holland.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Mae Steffy Martin in
1970, his second wife Lydia M. Martin Martin in August 1997, his
parents, 5 sisters, Edna Nolt, Mary Burkholder, Irene Martin, Edith
Weaver and Emma Landis, and 3 grandsons, Ron, Darryl and Scott Martin.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 12,
2007 at the Landis Homes West Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Road,
Lititz, Pa. with Chaplain Don Good officiating. Interment will follow
in the Bethany Grace Fellowship Cemetery, East Earl Twp. A viewing will
be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 11 at the Bethany East Chapel of
Landis Homes and 1 hour prior Wednesday at the Bethany West Chapel of
Landis Homes also. Please note location changes of viewings and
services.

Allen Z. Martin,
88, of Port Trevorton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at his
home. He was born Oct. 12, 1918, in Lancaster County, the son of the
late Weaver and Mary (Zimmerman) Martin. He was engaged in farming his
whole life.
He is survived by 12 children: five sons, Allen and Martha Martin,
Harvey and Gladys Martin, Sylvan and Elizabeth Martin, David and Marian
Martin, all of Port Trevorton; and Nathan and Irene Martin, of
Scottsville, Ky.; and seven daughters, Ruth and William Wanner, Anna
Mary Wanner, Sally and Martin Wanner, Judith and Richard Good, Arlene
Martin, all of Port Trevorton; Nora and Vernon Stauffer, of Mount
Pleasant Mills; and Nancy and Robert Martin, of McAlisterville. He is
also survived by 91 grandchildren; 110 great-grandchildren; three
brothers, Paul, Lloyd and his wife Florence, and Elam and his wife
Mildred; and three sisters, Eva Brubaker, Fannie and her husband Titus
Hoover, and Anna and her husband James Wenger.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wives, Ida, in 1943, and Anna,
in 1971; two children; one brother; and three sisters.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6
to 8 p.m. Monday at the family residence, 62 McKees Road, Port
Trevorton. Further services will be held at noon Tuesday at the family
residence, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Chapman Old Order
Mennonite Church, Blackwoods Road, Port Trevorton. Burial will be
in the adjoining church cemetery. The George P. Garman Funeral
Home Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, has been entrusted with
the funeral arrangements.

formerly of Lancaster went peacefully home to be with the Lord on
Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 at Landis Homes where she lived for the past 14
years. Born in Salisbury Twp., she was the daughter of the late Samuel
L. & Ada M. Martin Martin. Miss Martin worked in food service at
Lancaster General Hospital and retired after 28 years there. She was a
member of the Hersheys Mennonite Church, Kinzers and enjoyed puzzles
& games.
She is survived by: 2 brothers, Frank M. married to Arlene Wiker
Martin, Lancaster, Raymond L. married to Jeanette Myer Martin, East
Petersburg; 14 nieces; 8 nephews. Two brothers, Earl & Ivan Martin,
and 2 sisters, Mary Martin & Bertha Breckbill, and 3 nephews
preceded her in death.
The funeral will be on Saturday, Oct. 20th, at 11 AM from the Landis
Homes West Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz with interment
following in the Hersheys Mennonite cemetery. The viewing will be 1

finished and each of us are still writing ours and what is ours like?
Martin, Christian M., 84, of Bluegrass Lane, Ronks, and formerly of Weaver Road, Lancaster, died at Heart of Lancaster Hospital on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. He was the husband of Ruth M. Garber Martin for 63 years.
Christ was a longtime co-owner of C.Z. Martin Sons. The familys meat and cheese stand has been a fixture at Central Market since 1923. Christ worked at stands as a youth and, when his father retired, he and a brother, Roy, took over. He enjoyed gardening and yardwork and loved attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events. Christ had been active with the Mountville Fire Company. He was a long time member of Rossmere Mennonite Church.
Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Christian Z. and Alva M. Myer Martin.
Christ is also survived by a son, Kenneth E., married to Robyn Fuchs Martin of Columbus, Ohio, two daughters, Ann L., married to Amos Dienner, and Kathy S., married to Merv Smucker, all of Ronks, eleven grandchildren, Colin, Sean, Seth and Emilia Martin, Adam, Abigail, Alex and Amber Dienner, Aslyn, Taylor and Hunter Smucker.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, James R., David M., Daniel L., John P., Roy M. and Melvin M. and three sisters, Eunice M. Herr, Lois E. Herr and Anna R. Martin.

Pa. died in a bicycle traffic accident, Saturday, June 30, 2007 at
Lancaster General Hospital.
He was born in East Earl Twp., the son of Mervin M. and Laura H.
(Zeiset) Martin. He worked at home on the farm and at Countryside
Garden Greenhouse. He attended Groffdale Conference Mennonite Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are 6 brothers, Duane, married to

Martin, Daniel S., 85, of 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, died
Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Fairmount Homes. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Lydia W. (Stauffer) Martin in 2005.
Born in East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Daniel W. and Lydia
M. (Shirk) Martin.
Daniel had been a farmer and operated a produce stand at his home. He
was a member of the Shippensburg Mennonite Church, Weaverland

Martin, David F. - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family
and friends on Thursday, August 2, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in
Kitchener. David F. Martin resided in Wellesley. He was born in
Kitchener 52 years ago and is the beloved son of Annie (Erb) Martin of
Country Meadows, Brunner, and the late Sylvester Martin (2003).
Dearly loved brother of Wayne and his wife, Shirley Martin of RR 2
Wallenstein and Dorothy Ann and her husband, Joe Leis of Millbank.
Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews. David was employed at
Kraemer Woodcraft until 2005 and was an avid Toy collector.
Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St., Wellesley,
where family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9

Monday, November 5, 2007 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Ephrata Twp., he was the son of the late Michael and Anna
(Martin) Martin. He was married 65 years on December 25 to Ada Z.
(Martin) Martin.
He was a farmer most of his life until his stroke in 2000 and a member
of the Muddy Creek Old Order Mennonite Church.

Holland, passed away Sunday evening, November 4, 2007, at her home

She is survived by her husband, John Z. Martin, with whom she
celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on September 29, 2007.
Born in Ephrata Twp., she was the daughter of the late Levi W. and Ella
(Wise) Zimmerman. She was a member of South Hinkletown Mennonite
Church, Weaverland Conference.
She was a housewife, and her greatest joy was spending time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Raymond

George Z. Weaver, Ephrata; daughter-in-law Pauline W. Martin, New
Holland; Earl Z. married to Faye Martin, Ephrata; Janet Z. and Joyce Z.

Martin, Esther W. Weaver, age 64, of East Earl, PA passed away
at home on Thursday, June 21, 2007 after a 7-year battle with cancer.
She was the wife of Nevin Z. Martin for 44 years. Born in East Earl
Township, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. Martin and the late
Lucy G. Weber Weaver.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 6 children: Andrew,

Martin, Eugene S., 63, of Millersville, entered into rest at
Lancaster General Hospital on Monday August 6, 2007.
Born in Ephrata, he was a son of Naomi B. (Sauder) and the late Isaac
J. Martin.
Eugene attended Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church. He was a resident for
the last 15 years at the Stehman Home in Millersville, under the loving
care of Kaye Thompson and the late Jim Atkins and other caregivers,
along with his friends Bob, Kirk and Joanie. He also attended EARS for
10 years, PAI and Keystone Services.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Sanford S., husband
of Jean (Zimmerman) Martin of Denver, and John S., husband of Jane
(King) Martin of Ephrata, and four sisters, Ruth M. Martin of
Lancaster, Esther S. Renneberg of Reamstown, Elizabeth (Betty) S., wife

Martin, Evelyn Zuck, 89, of Lancaster, entered into rest at
Brethren Village, Lancaster on Sunday, December 23, 2007.
She was born on October 26, 1918, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, a daughter
of the late Abram and Verdie (Hibschman) Zuck.
She is a graduate of Ephrata High School, 1936. She married Wilbur Amos
Martin on June 7, 1936. Following high school, Evelyn attended
Lancaster School of the Bible for one year and then National Bible
Institute, New York City, for 2 years, completing the Medical
Missionary course.
Evelyn's husband Wilbur, a retired Church of the Brethren pastor,
served in five congregations of the Church of the Brethren: Pottstown,
PA, Royersford, PA, Coventry, Orlando, FL, and Ft. Myers, FL. In each
congregation, Evelyn was employed as Church Secretary. She was
also employed from 1963 to 1967 at Pennhurst State School and Hospital
as Secretary and Receptionist. Evelyn also worked at Arrow Camera Shop,
Pottstown, as a delivery driver, bookkeeper and later as a branch
manager.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Wilbur, two sons, Timothy Ritchey
Martin and wife Donna of Myersville, MD, and Thomas Martin of
Northridge, CA, two grandsons, Benjamin and Jonathan, one brother,
Lowell, husband of Maya Zuck of Webster Grove, MO, and many nieces and
nephews whom she dearly loved.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Abram and Verdie Zuck.
A memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 27,
2007 at the Brethren Village Chapel, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, with
Chaplain Dana Statler and Dr. Robert W. Neff officiating. Private
interment in the Bareville Cemetery, West Earl Township, PA. The family
will receive friends immediately following the memorial services in the
chapel.

Martin, G. Earl, 83, PO Box 176, Terre Hill, died at his home on
Monday, December 10, 2007, of cardiac complications.
Born in Caernarvon Twp., the youngest of 14 children, he was the son of
the late Henry S. and Mattie (Snader) Martin. On June 7, 1947, he was
married to Arlene W. Good with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage.
In June, 1990, Earl was the recipient of one of the first successful
liver transplants in Lancaster County, at the University of Pittsburgh
Medical Center.
Founder of his plastering company in 1954, he retired from G. Earl
Martin, Inc., after more than 37 years. The company is now known as GEM
Wall and Ceiling Contractors and Martin Plastering Contractors.
Continuing to run errands for them until 1999, he then enjoyed
woodworking as a hobby. His greatest enjoyment, however, was having his
family come home to spend time.
He was a member of Calvary Church, Lancaster, the Friendship ABF Class,
and a small group prayer fellowship.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons and two daughters, Larry,
husband of Lena Mae Stoltzfus of East Earl, Linda, wife of James
Kreider of Nottingham, Lonnie, husband of Marion Hess of East Earl,
Lisa, wife of Jonathan Frank of East Earl, Loren, husband of Beth Anne
Bucher, and Ladd, husband of Sharon Buckwalter both of Terre Hill; 16
grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Gingrich of
Lititz.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters, Carrie,
Anna Weaver, Lizzie Weaver, Samuel, Mattie, Henry, Fannie, Aaron, Leah
Hurst, Walter, Lydia, and Charles.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday evening, December 13, at
7:00 p.m. at Weaverland Mennonite Church, East Earl, with the Reverend
Leon Hurst and the Reverend Steve Kornbau of Downingtown officiating.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and
again after the service at the Church. There will be a private
interment prior to the service.

Martin, Henry E., Jr. 78, of Lancaster, died peacefully in his
sleep on Saturday, October 20, 2007.
Born March 16, 1929 in Manheim Township, he was the son of the late
Henry E. Sr., and Barbara S. Hollinger Martin.
He was married 56 years this past June to Ruth Tyson Martin.
For 20 years, Henry was a partner in the Henry E. Martin and Sons Truck
Sales. In 1971 he bought the Mohn Brothers Buick Agency and later
renamed it Martin Buick, Inc. He was an antique car enthusiast and
still owned a 1982 Buick Rivera with 14,000 original miles at the time
of his death.
Mr. Martin was a member of the Neffsville Mennonite Church where he
served as treasurer for 32 years, was an usher and served on several
building committees. He had also served as treasurer of the Atlantic
Coast Conference of the Mennonite Church. He was a graduate of the
Manheim Township High School Class of 1947.
Henry had served on the Warwick Union School Board and on the building
committee of the Middle School. He was a member and past president of
the Metropolitan Lancaster Automotive Association.
Surviving besides his wife is a daughter, Denise Kaye Zink of
Lancaster; a son, Henry E. Martin III of Mountville; three
grandchildren, Chad Martin, Jenna Martin and Justin Martin all of
Lancaster; a great grandson Anthony Cooper; a brother, Richard H.
husband of Esther Keener Martin of Lancaster; a sister-in-law Sarah C.
Rudisill Martin widow of his deceased brother Eugene H. Martin of
Lancaster; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Norman J. and Betty J.
Stoltzfus of Leola; eight Martin nieces and nephews and three Stoltzfus
nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 10:30
a.m. at the Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster,
PA with Pastors Beth and Harry Jarrett officiating.

Martin, Horace M., 76, of Terre Hill, died surrounded by his
family on Saturday evening, November 17, 2007, at the Ephrata Community
Hospital.
Born June 23, 1931 in Goodville, he was the son of the late Guy W. and
Edythe (Martin) Martin. He was married 55 years on Dec. 1 to Erma J.
(Martin) Martin.
He graduated from New Holland High School in 1950 and retired from
Tyson Foods of New Holland after 30 years as a dock Foreman. After
retirement he was a part time courier for Blue Ball National Bank.
As a lifetime member of Goodville Mennonite Church he served as
choister for 60 years. He enjoyed music and sang in the gospel group
"The Goodville Gospelaires." He also enjoyed his family and was a St.
Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, LuAnne, married to
Terry Hartranft, of Narvon, Leon, married to Linda Martin, of East
Earl, Lois Justice, of Denver, and Lori Messner, of East Earl; nine
grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel, married to
Harold Reed, of Terre Hill, and Reba, married to Eugene Brown, of
Manheim.
Preceding him in death is an infant daughter, Linda Joan Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 11 am at
Goodville Mennonite Church with the Reverends Bruce Sauder, Nelson
Martin, and Harold Reed officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining
cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday at the Eckenroth Home for
Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, from 6-8 pm and at the Church on

was a retired Mennonite pastor, church consultant, congregational
overseer, and
author. He received degrees from Goshen College,
Goshen Biblical
Seminary, and University of Notre Dame. In addition to serving as
pastor and
interim pastor of congregations in Indiana,
Michigan, Arizona,
and Nebraska, he served in 1-W
(alternative service) with the
Mennonite Board of Missions in Puerto Rico for two years, and taught
Spanish at
Jimtown High School.
He
is survived by his wife Mary, three
sons, Stephen of Walkerton, Philip (Judy Godshalk) of Plymouth,
Michel (Susan Harter) of Wakarusa, a daughter, Judith, of Springfield, Mo.,
and six grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Naaman

Martin, Lizzie Mae Weaver Sauder, 94, of Lititz, entered into
rest at Landis Homes, Lititz on Sunday, July 22, 2007.
She was born in Brecknock Township, a daughter of the late Jonas A. and
Lizzie M. Nolt Weaver. She was the wife of the late Weaver W. Sauder
who died on May 7, 1978 and also of the late Luke Z. Martin who died in
1997.
She was a member of Ephrata Mennonite Church and ran the Sauders
Tourist Home in Ephrata from 1965 until 1980.
Lizzie Mae is survived by three step-sons, William A., husband of
Elizabeth (Brubaker) Martin of Lititz, Harold E., husband of Lydia
(Gehman) Martin of Stevens, and John H., husband of Joyce (Stahl)
Martin of Ephrata, four step-daughters, Eleanor Good of Lititz, Janet,
wife of John Burkholder of Leola, Betty Ann, wife of Leon Hurst of
Ephrata, and Wanda, wife of Wesley Shirk of Narvon, 20
step-grandchildren and 41 step-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husbands and parents, she was also preceded in death by her
brother Isaac Martin and her sisters Anna Nolt and Martha Rissler. She
was the last of her immediate family.
Services will be held Thursday, July 26, at 10:00 AM at the Ephrata
Mennonite Church, 510 Stevens Road, Ephrata, with Pastor Jeff High and
Pastor Jack Scandrett officiating. Interment will follow in the

1963. They celebrated their 44th anniversary this year.

husband of Ada Z. Martin Martin. He was born June 13, 1924 in New

He was a retired employee of the Wernersville State Hospital after 20
years of service. He was a member of the Martin's Mennonite Church of
the Weaverland Conference, Womelsdorf.

Louis was a farmer all his life, retiring in 2004. He was a member of

Martin, Mahlon S., 90, of New Holland, entered into rest at his
home on Sunday, November 11, 2007.
Born in Earl Township, he was a son of the late Wilson W. and Sarah S.
(Stauffer) Martin. He was the husband of Lizzie W. (Horst) Martin. They
were married for over 63 years.
A retired farmer, he was a member of Stauffer Mennonite Church, Earl
Township.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, James, husband of Janice
L. (Martin) Martin of Narvon, Paul, husband of Lucy W. (Martin) Martin
of Ephrata, Clarence, husband of Marilyn (Bowman) Martin of New
Holland, and Mahlon H. Martin of East Earl, eight daughters, Eva, wife
of David Z. Martin of New Holland, Anna, wife of Nathan L. Martin of
Ephrata, Miriam, wife of Joseph M. Weaver of Denver, Kathryn, wife of
Eugene M. Martin Auker of Bainbridge, OH,
Lizzie, wife of Chester W. Martin of Bainbridge, OH, Bertha H. Martin
at home, Ellen, wife of Melvin M. Brubaker of Port Trevorton, and
Norma, wife of Eugene W. Martin of Bainbridge, four brothers, Wilson S.
Martin, Marvin S. Martin, both of Port Trevorton, Jacob S. Martin of
New Holland, Walter S. Martin of Leonardtown, MD, one sister, Sarah S.
Martin of New Holland, 80 grandchildren, and 71 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mabel H.
Martin, his brother, Willis S. Martin, and 3 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 8:30 AM on Friday, November 16, 2007 from the
late residence, 546 N. Railroad Avenue, New Holland with further
services at 9:15 AM at the Stauffer Mennonite Church, East Earl.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be
held at the late residence from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Thursday, November 15.

Mary F. Zimmerman Martin, 107, of Ephrata, entered into rest at
her residence on Saturday, July 14, 2007.
Born in Earl Township on April 24, 1900, she was a daughter of the late
Levi G. and Lizzie (Fox) Zimmerman. She was the wife of the late
Ivan W. Martin. A homemaker, she was a member of Stauffer Mennonite
Church.
Mary is survived by two sons, Melvin Z. Martin and Mervin Z., husband
of Kathryn (Weaver) Martin, three daughters, Elsie Z. (Martin)
Stauffer, Anna Z. Martin, and Bertha Z., wife of Weaver Auker, with
whom she resided, 54 grandchildren, 272 great grandchildren, and 142
great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three
children: Ruth Brubaker, Elizabeth Sensenig and Ivan Z. Martin, 2
brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 9:00 AM at
her son Melvin's residence, 384 Cabin Drive, Ephrata with further
services at 9:45 AM at Stauffer Mennonite Church, Earl Township.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be
held from 2-7 PM, Monday, July 16th at 384 Cabin Drive, Ephrata.

Martin, Melvin Myer, 74,
of Randallstown, MD died March 13, 2007 at Hospice of West Palm Beach,
FL from heart disease. He was born to Christian Zimmerman and
Alva (Myer) Martin. He was married to Arlene Saks, who survives.
Surviving are children, Jackie Hair, wife of John Hair; Wes Martin,
husband of Elizabeth Martin; three children by marriage, Mitchell Saks,
husband of Lisa Saks, Howard Saks, husband of Nancy; and Lauren Saks;
and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife.
Memorial services were held March 19, 2007 at Neffsville Mennonite
Church, Lancaster, PA with burial in East Petersburg Mennonite
Church Cemetery, East Petersburg, PA.
He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Menno S. Martin,
70, of Kentontown Road, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at his
home.
He was born in Selinsgrove on Sept. 23, 1936, a son of the late Enos S.
and Katie Stauffer Martin.
Mr. Martin was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Believers Fellowship Mennonite Church, Grove City,
Minn. He is survived by his wife, Sadie Byler "Mattie" Martin; five
sons, Robert M. (Rachel) Martin of Cottage Grove, Tenn., James E.
(Dora) Martin of Robertson County, and David J. Martin, Paul D. Martin
and Melvin S. Martin, all of Long Prairie, Minn.; two sisters, Anna S.
(George) Martin and Maria Graybill, both of Selinsgrove; and 15
grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron
Martin, and a sister, Alice Brubaker.
Services were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Pleasant Hill
Mennonite Church of Sunrise by Robert Burkholder, Melvin Byler and
Melvin Beachy. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Mennonite Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill
Mennonite Church of Sunrise, 486 Hill Lane, Cynthiana, KY 41031.

Martin, Molly K. Koch, 93, of Leola died September 17, 2007 at
Denver Nursing Home. Born in Lititz, PA, she was the daughter of the
late Elam and Minnie Butzer Koch. Molly was a homemaker and a member of
Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster.
Surviving are two daughters: Vivian, wife of Tony Colatta of Leola,
Cindy, wife of the late Richard Harsh, one son, Kenneth Reynold,
husband of Thelma Martin of Lancaster, twelve grandchildren,
twenty-three great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren.
Molly was preceded in death by a grandchild, eight brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral
Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Thursday, September

Nevin H. Martin,
14 months, of 334 Beaver Road, entered into rest suddenly and
unexpectedly at 7:13 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at home. He was
born June 6, 2006, in Mifflinburg, a son of Jason S. and Pauline M.
(Horning) Martin of Mifflinburg.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Gerald H.
Martin, and two sisters, Lucille H. Martin and Karen H. Martin, all at
home; paternal grandparents, Mervin H. and Annetta M. Martin of
Mifflinburg; maternal grandparents, Samuel Z. and Alice M. Horning of
Mifflinburg; maternal great-grandmothers, Mary Shirk of Goodville and
Lydia Ann Martin of Ephrata; paternal great-grandparents, Amos L. and
Frances M. Martin of Terre Hill and Mahlon W. and Mary M. Horning of
East Earl; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard H. Martin, who died Jan.
13, 1999.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Jason S. Martin
home, 334 Beaver Road, Mifflinburg. Further services will be held at 10
a.m. at Vicksburg Old Order Mennonite Church, Beaver Run Road,
Mifflinburg. Officiating will be Bishop Levi N. Martin, Lloyd R.
Zimmerman, Esra M. Zimmerman and Amos W. Nolt.
Visitors will be received by the family at the Martin home from 2 to 4
and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and on Saturday morning before the time of the
service. Interment will be in Vicksburg Old Order Mennonite
Church Cemetery, Buffalo Township, Union County.
Serving as pallbearers will be Clyde S. Martin, Loren S. Martin, Leroy
M. Horning and Luke Ray Horning.

Paul E. Martin, 80,
of, 22127 Seneca Drive, died at 5:21 p.m. Thursday (May 31, 2007) at
Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen.
He was born April 29, 1927, in Bassano, Alberta, Canada, to Samuel H.
and Olive (Barkdoll) Martin. On Sept. 5, 1948, in Elida, Ohio, he
married Charlotte L. Ramer.
She survives along with three daughters, Ann (Greg) Wisler of Goshen,
Carolyn F. Martin of Conrath, Wis., and Valerie L. (Marlin) King of
Elida; two sons, Elwin D. Martin of Bruce, Wis., and Gregg L. Martin of
Elida; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Reber
of Alberta; and three brothers, Sam and James Martin, both of Alberta,
and Richard Martin of Harrisonburg, Va.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Caleb Lawton; two
sisters, Ethel Ramer and Lula Roth; and three brothers, Joe, Fred and
John Martin.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Tuesday funeral
service at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.
Pastor Ben Shirk will officiate and burial will be at West Goshen
Cemetery.
Mr. Martin was a route man for Stivers in New Paris, a retired minister
and a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church.

Martin, Raymond R., 65, of Ephrata, entered peacefully in the
arms of Jesus at the Ephrata Community Hospital, Ephrata on Thursday,
May 10, 2007.
He was born in Brecknock Twp. Pa, a son of Elam G. and Lillian W.
Redcay Martin of Ephrata.
Raymond had attended the Martindale Mennonite Church (Weaverland
Conference) and enjoyed singing and listening to music. He will be
missed by his family and friends, and fondlly remembered for his
friendly waves and handshakes. He enjoyed throwing ball and doing the
dishes as his favorite chore.
Surviving are his parents, 3 brothers, Solomon R. husband of Mildred
Bauman Martin of Ephrata, Alvin R. husband of Shirley Ristenbatt Martin
of Lebanon, and Leon R. husband of Sandra Sweigart Martin of Denver, 3
sisters, Elizabeth wife of Adam W. Horst of Morrisville, Mary wife of
Irvin M. Weaver of Hinkletown, and Irene wife of Brian Witmer , with
whom he resided, 16 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Mervin R. Martin.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at
the Farm Crest Chapel of Fairmount Homes, CatsBack Road Ephrata, with
further services at 10:00 AM at the Martindale Frame Mennonite Church

Martin, Robert E., 73, of Leola, PA went home to be with his
Lord while surrounded by his adoring family at his home on Tuesday, May
1, 2007 after
a four month battle with cancer.
Born in New Holland, PA he was the son of the late Mahlon W. &
Elsie V. (Harnish) Martin.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Janet Hershey Martin. They would
have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on November 11, 2007.
In 1962 Robert began his auction career along with the late Frank
Steller and later established the Robert E. Martin & Sons
Auctioneering firm which continues today under the guidance of his
sons. Robert volunteered his love of auctioneering to benefit many
local organizations including Friendship Community, Landis &
Calvary Homes, Lancaster Mennonite School, Open Door Youth Center and
many local fire companies. Robert farmed, along with his son, Jeffrey,
on the Martin Homestead founded in 1909. He was a member of the
Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. He served on
numerous agricultural organization boards including the Lancaster Farm
& Home Center, New Holland Farm Show and the Eastern Milk Producers
Cooperative where he served as president for 29 yrs. He was an active
leader in the New Holland 4-H Baby Beef Club.
Robert was a life long member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church where
he served in numerous roles as Trustee, Building Committee Member,
Sunday School Teacher and as a member of the Hospitality Committee. He
was a supportive member of the Gideons.
Robert's love of life and commitment to Christ, his family and friends
is his legacy. He enjoyed traveling, entertaining with his wife in
their home, spending time with his children and grandchildren. The
twinkle in his eye and the smile he had for everyone he met will be
sorely missed by those of us who loved him most.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Michael L.
husband of Marilyn Groff Martin, Strasburg, Jeffrey R. husband of Anne
Yoder Martin, New Holland, Kathy L. wife of John M. Frey, Lancaster,
and Janae M. wife of Christopher Smiley, Lancaster; ten grandchildren,
Ryan Martin husband of Brooke, Amanda Martin, fiancé of Alex
Ranck, Cassidy, Christopher & Chadman Martin, Carsen & Sara
Catherine Frey, Logan, Hudson & Nyah Smiley; two sisters, Viola
Gochnauer, Lititz; Arlene wife of Martin Brubaker, Mount Joy; two
brothers Samuel husband Sarah Martin, New Holland, Richard husband of
Beulah Martin, New Holland.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob & LeRoy Martin;
three sisters, Eva Horst, Dorothy Peters and Ruth Nark.

Groffdale Mennonite Church, 168 N. Groffdale Rd., Leola on Monday, May
7 at 10:00 a.m. with interment following in the adjoining cemetery. A
viewing will be held on Sunday, May 6 at Groffdale Mennonite Church
from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 to 10:00
a.m. on Monday.

Martin, Ruth B. Brubaker, 99, of 333 Wheatridge Dr., Ephrata,
formerly of Blue Ball, died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Fairmount Home,
Ephrata.
Born in Ephrata on Dec. 25, 1907, she was the daughter of the late
David E. and Mary R. "Mamie" (Burkholder) Brubaker. Her husband, Paul
M. Martin, died on Sept. 2, 1992. She was a member of Weaverland
Mennonite Church and its sewing circle.
Surviving are two sons, Jay L., married to Florence (Horst) Martin, and
John A., married to Marilyn (Boyd) Martin, both of East Earl; a
daughter, Janet E., married to Kenneth Clemenich of Alexandria; 11
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren;
and a sister-in-law, Virginia Brubaker of California.
Preceding her in death are a brother, J. Lloyd Brubaker; a sister,
Laura B. Messner; and a great grandson, Seth Martin.
She spent much of her life as a housewife and support for her husband,
Paul, who owned the Blue Ball Garage. She also volunteered for various
groups as Blue Ball Fire Co., New Holland Re-Uzit Shop, and Black Rock
Retreat. She also made many articles of clothing for AMG International
and kept tourists in her home for many years. Her hobbies included
crocheting and raising flowers. She enjoyed family, including her
grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her great,
great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, at 2 PM at
Weaverland Mennonite Church. Interment will be in the adjoining
cemetery.

Martin, Samuel H., 85, of 124 E. Conestoga St., New Holland,
died Thursday afternoon at Fairmount Homes where he resided for the
last 18 months. He is survived by his wife, Sarah M. (Ziemer) Martin
with whom he would have shared 65 years of marriage on July 18.
Born in Upper Leacock Twp., he was the son of the late Mahlon W. and
Elsie V. (Harnish) Martin.
Sam was a custodian at Garden Spot High School, retiring in 1987. He
had also worked part-time at the former Dauphin Deposit Bank.
He was a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Miriam L.
married to Leonard J. Martin, New Holland; two grandchildren, Jeffrey
L. Martin and Jodi L. Waltz; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Abby
Waltz; a brother, M. Richard Martin, New Holland; and two sisters,
Viola Gochnauer, Landis Homes; and Arlene married to Martin Brubaker,
Mt. Joy.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: J. Jacob Martin, Leroy
Martin, and Robert E. Martin and three sisters: Eva Horst, Ruth Nark,
and Dorothy Peters.
His funeral will be held on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 11 AM at the
Groffdale Mennonite Church with Charles Wert officiating. Interment
will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the
church on Monday from 10 to 11 AM. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New
Holland, is in charge of arrangements.

Martin, Weaver W., 73, of 1223 Main St., East Earl, died
Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. He was
married to Esther (Horst) Martin for 53 years on June 26.
Born in Caernarvon Twp., he was the son of the late Henry and Mary
(Weaver) Martin.
He owned and operated Weaver W. Martin Livestock Hauling for the past
44 years and was a member of Lichty Mennonite Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Leon married to Roxanne
(Sauder) Martin, Ephrata and Lonnie married to Karen (Martin) Martin,
East Earl; four daughters: Lou Ann married to Aaron Martin, East Earl;
Edna married to Mervin Fox, Morgantown; Linda Hurst, Ephrata and Elaine
Weaver, Ephrata; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister,
Martha Ringler, East Earl and three brothers: Dave Martin, Narvon; Ivan
Martin, East Earl; and Levi Martin, New Holland.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ralph Fox, a son-in-law Leo
Weaver, a brother Amos Martin and a sister Mary Wenger.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 2 PM at the
Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Rd., Ephrata (Martindale).
Interment will be in Lichty Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held
at the Martindale Mennonite Church on Friday from 1 to 4 PM and 6 to 8

Rachel Maxine Whitehead Mishler, 81, of Goshen, IN died
September 30 2007 at Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN from cancer. She was
born March 1, 1926 at Topeka, LaGrange Co., IN to LeRoy and Mary
(Sherck) Mishler. On March 20 1993 at Goshen Elkhart Co., IN she
was married to Harley Mast, who was born September 27, 1925 and
survives. Her first husband, Wendell Whitehead, who she married
November 28, 1942 in Warsaw, IN, died October 25, 1991.
Surviving are daughter, Gayle (Richard) Anderson, Palm Bay, Florida;
four sons, Kirby (Jane) Whitehead and Jim (Sally) Whitehead), Goshen,
Indiana; Gary (Barbara) Whitehead, Elkhart and Bob Whitehead, Warne,
North Carolina; step-son Duane (Diane) Mast, Millersburg, IN; two
step-daughers, Nancy (Lennis) Troyer, Burr Oak, MI and Fern Mast of
Goshen, IN, nine grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Carolyn (Del) Freeman, Rancho Mirage,
CA; Phyllis (Ted) Miller, Middlebury, IN and Margaret Tarman, Goshen,
IN.
A brother, Robert Mishler preceded her in death.
She was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church where she was active
in her Sunday School class. She attended many fast pitch softball games
throughout the area as her first husband, Wendell, played with many
teams in northern Indiana. She and her second husband Harley, enjoyed
many travels together. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her children
and grandchildren. Rachel, a homemaker, worked for Miles Laboratory in
Elkhart and later for the Elkhart County Governmnet Auditors office.
Memorial services were held October 3, 2007 at Clinton Frame Mennonite
Church, Goshen, IN with burial in Violett Cemetery, Goshen,
Elkhart Co., IN.

Emma L. Fisher, 97, of Pigeon, Michigan died November 10, 2007
at Pigeon, Michigan. She was born November 7, 1910 in Johnson
Co., Iowa to Daniel and Ida (Miller) Fisher. She was married to
Joseph Maust, who is deceased.
Surviving are children, Myra Gerstenschlager, Joseph (Diane) Maust,
Doug (Marilyn) Maust, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Freeman, SD died January 2, 2007 at Freeman, Hutchinson Co., SD of
natural causes. She was born January 1, 1908 at Doltonf, SD to
Jacob and Rebecca (Hofer 06/03/1884-03/05/1972) Hofer. On March
6, 1959 she was married to Jacob J. Mendel, whois deceased.
Surviving are step children: Lorraine Hofer, LaVerne Mendel and wife
Janice , Doris Schmidt, eight grandchildren, twenty
great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services were held January 5, 2007 at Hutterthal Mennonite
Church, Freeman, Hutchinson Co., SD with burial in the adjoining
cemetery.

Merry, Elvera Miller
Baumgartner, 82, of Castorland, New York died May 10, 2007 at
Lowville, NY. She was born December 8, 1924 at Lowville, NY to Leon and
Ethel (Austin) Miller. On November 13, 1943 she was married to
Nelson Baumgartner, who is deceased. In February 1980 she was
married to Stanley Merry who predeceased her in 1995.
Surviving are children, Linda and James Seitz, Kay and Bruce Monnat,
Pam and Rick Salaway, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Sylvia Miller. She was
preceded in death by a son, Brandt Baumgartner and a brother, Harold
Miller.
Memorial services were held May 15, 2007 at First Mennonite Church of
New Bremen, Lowville New York with burial in Riverside Annex, Beaver
Falls, NY.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Carley June Erb, 84, of Goshen, IN died August 7, 2007 at
Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN. She was born November 30, 1922 at
Wellman, Iowa to Jacob and Erma (Miller) Erb. On May 24, 1944 she
was married to Galen R. Miller, who is deceased.
Surviving are children, Scott Miller, Duane (Laura) Miller, Tilllman
(Shonne) Miller, Donald Miller, Marla (Leon) Graber, Gretchen (Ken)
Vasquez, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Shirley Gingerich. She was preceded
in death by a son, Tillman Miller, a sister, Lois Liechty and a
brother, Lowell Erb.
Memorial services were held August 15, 2007 at Gathering Place of
Evergreen at Greencroft, Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Christina, 81, of Sarasota, FL died August 22, 2007 at Sarasota,
FL from natural causes. She was born October 4, 1925 at Kalona, IA to
David and Fannie (Ropp) Miller.
Surviving are three brothers, Harley and wife Clara Miller; William and
wife Mattie Miller; Raymond and wife Mary Miller; and three sisters,
Lydia Miller, Mary
Miller and Ellen Miller.
A brother, Manass Miller and a sister, Esther Miller, preceded her in
death.
Memorial services were held August 26 2007 at Sunnyside Conservative
Mennonite Church, Kalona, Iowa with burial in South Gingerich Cemetery,
Kalona, Iowa.

Miller,
Clifford D., 72, of Allen, MD died June 10, 2007 at Allen, MD
of heart related problems. He was born November 15,
1934 at Westover, MD to Lester and Clara Miller. He was
married to Phyllis Kolb, who survives. Clifford and Phyllis enjoyed 51
years of marriage.
Surviving are daughters, Carol Aydelotte, Vicki Gragen, Juli Anderson
and husband Steve Anderson, three grandchildren, and one
great-grandchild.
Clifford had a life long love for farming. First as a dairy farmer in
Vermont and later as a chicken farmer in Salisbury, MD. He moved to
Allen to retire and enjoy biking, travel and chopping wood for his
fireplace.
Memorial services were held June 24, 2007 at Holly Grove
Mennonite Church, Westover, MD with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Clifford R., 23, of Champaign, formerly of Arcola, passed away
at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Lake Shelbyville in Shelby County.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today (Thursday) at the
Raymond B. Miller residence, 465 E. CR. 400 N, Arthur, with Bishop
Jacob Stutzman officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
Visitation is anytime prior to the service. Edwards Funeral Home
Arcola, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miller was born August 5, 1983, in Decatur. He was a son of
Raymond B. and Ruth Elaine Kemp Miller.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, LaVern R. Miller and
Jason R. Miller, both of Arthur; four sisters, Miriam Marie Hochstetler
and husband Nelson, Christina Ruth Miller, Loretta Fern Miller, and
Barbara Sue Miller, all ofArthur; his paternal grandmother, Susanna
Schrock Miller of Arcola; and his maternal grandfather, Elmer Glenn
Kemp of Arthur.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ben S. Miller;
maternal grandmother, Ella Yoder Kemp; and one sister, Rhoda Elaine
Miller.
Mr. Miller was a self-employed contractor.

Edna M. 89, of Arthur
passed away at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at The Arthur Home.
Funeral service's were held Sunday afternoon at Sunnyside Mennonite
Church in ru-ral Arcola with Pastor Lonnie Gingerich and Pastor Larry
Rocke officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday evening at the church. Edwards Fu-neral
Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Miller was born September 20, 1917, in Douglas County. She
was a daughter of Jacob F. and Fannie Stutzman Kauffman. She married
William J. Miller on January 12, 1939 in Douglas County. He passed away
on January 4, 2006.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Wallace and husband Will of
Macon, Mississippi, and Dorothy Miller of Decatur; one
daugh-ter-in-law, Martha Ann Kaufman and husband Melvin of Sarasota,
Florida; one sister, Mary Ann Miller and husband Dan of Arthur; eight
grandchildren, Roger Kaufman of Sarasota, Gene Kaufman and wife JoAnn
of Sullivan, Cheryl Kaufman and husband Kent of Sarasota, Rhonda Pike
and husband Todd of Sarasota, Wesley Wallace of Macon, Mississippi, Amy
Pauls and husband Tim of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Rachel Liddell .and
husband Joshua. of Jack-son, Mississippi, and Marcus Wallace of Macon,
Missis-sippi; and nine great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Marvin
Miller; one daughter, Annie Miller; four brothers, Alvin, Eli, Melvin,
and Joe Kauffman, and one sister, Bertha Miller. Mrs. Miller was a
home-maker and. member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church.

Miller, Eli William, 79, of
Arthur passed away at 11:45 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2007, at St. Mary's
Hospital in Decatur.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Steve Kauffman
residence in rural Arthur with Bishop Eli Schlabach officiating. Burial
was in Miller Cemetery in rural Arcola. Visitation was anytime prior to
the funeral service at the Kauffman residence. Edwards Funeral Home,
Arcola, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
Mr. Miller was born May 15, [1927] in Arthur. He was a son of Levi G.
and Carrie J. Kauffman Miller. He married Caroline W Schrock on
September 12, 1946, in Arthur. She passed away on July 3, 2001.
Survivors include one son, Levi William Miller and wife Irene of
Arthur; one daughter, Elsie Marie Miller of Arthur; one brother,
Harvey L. Miller. of Middlebury, Indiana; four sisters, Fannie J.
Bontrager of Peru, Indiana, Ann Kuhns and husband Jerry of Arthur,
Lela Reynolds of Arthur, and Mary Yoder and husband Edwin of Arcola;
and eight grandchildren, Larry William Miller, Carolyn Marie Miller,
Wilbur Ray Miller, Gary Dale Miller, Marcus Eli Miller, Lavern Jay
Miller, Rosanna Kay Miller, and Willard Lynn Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his, wife. Mr. Miller was a
retired farmer and harness maker. He was a member of the Old Order
Amish.

Ethel B. Burkhart, 92, of Landisville, PA died July 16, 2007 at
Landisville, Lancaster County, PA. She was born November 11, 1914
at Millersville, PA to William R and Amanda N. (Breneman)
Burkhart. On June 25, 1938 she was married to Reverend Arthur H.
Miller (born 11/6/1913), who survives.
Surviving are children, Edwin B., married to Mary Landis Miller;
Landisville; Barbara Ann, married to Luke F. Brubaker, Mount Joy;
Marian Jean, wife of the late Raymond Lefever, Milton; Dr. Richard B.,
married to Fannie Bomberger Miller, Stuarts Draft, VA; J. Martin,
married to Ferne Longenecker Miller, Landisville; and Donald B.,
married to Marilyn Lehman Miller, Elizabethtown; 17 grandchildren, 29
great-grandchildren and a sister, Edna B. Esbenshade, Lititz.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Fannie B. Mellinger.
Memorial services were held July 20, 2007 at Landisville Mennonite
Church, Landisivlle, Lancaster County, PA with burial in the adjoining
cemetery.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Howard D., 78, of Lowville, NY died August 4, 2007 at Utica, New
York. He was born May 22, 1929 at Waynesboro, Virginia to Hobert
and Blanche (Wilkins) Nesselrodt.. On November 26 1954 at
Lowville, Lewis Co., New York he was married to Ruth Anna Jantzi, who
was born November 17, 1931 and survives.
Surviving are children: two daughters and their husbands, Heidi M. and
Dr. Tad Heinz, Carmeleta M. and David Beidler; two sons and their
wives, Howard D. and Cheryl Miller, Sven E. and Laurie Miller, and nine
grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother and his wife, Joseph and Sue Miller; and a
sister Frances Smith.
Memorial services were held August 6 2007 at Lowville Mennonite Church,
Lowville, Lewis Co., New York with burial in Croghan Mennonite
Cemetery, Croghan, New York.
He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

KALONA -
John Wertz Miller
was born August 12, 1922 in Kalona,
Iowa the son of Urie and Amanda (Wertz) Miller. He graduated from
Center High School in 1942 and attended Hesston College. On October 4,
1944 he was united in marriage to Arlene Hochstetler at the Lower Deer
Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. They lived in Iowa City for 57
years where John was employed for Sieg Auto Supply for 39 years until
his retirement in 1988. They moved to Kalona in 2001. He was an active
member of the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church and the Model A Car
Club. He enjoyed volunteering at the Crowded Closet and working on
cars. John died on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Pleasantview Home in
Kalona following a long illness at the age of 84 years.
John is survived by his wife Arlene of Kalona; 2 daughters - Jane
Gingerich of Punta Gorda, Florida; Julie Derstine and husband Daryl of
Blooming Glen, Pennsylvania; 4 grandchildren Todd Gingerich and wife
Jennifer, Wade Gingerich and wife Aimee, Rachel Derstine and Ingrid
Derstine; and a sister - Kathryn Yoder of Kalona. He was preceded in
death by his parents.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007 at
the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. Pastor Don
Patterson and Pastor Dick Swartzendruber will officiate. Burial will be
in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on
Sunday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona where the family will
greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. A memorial fund has been
established Water For Life and the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church.

Marner, 93, of Goshen, IN died October 7, 2007 at Goshen, IN. He
was born June 24, 1914 at Brandon, Colorado to Abraham and Lena
(Marner) Miller. On February 16, 1936 at Kalona, Iowa he was
married to Lala M. Miller, who survives.
Surviving are children, Shirley (Lowell) Miller; David (Barbara)
Miller; Larry (Eleanor) Miller; 12 grandchildren, and 29
great-grandchildren.
A son, Marlin Miller, three sisters: Mabel Bontrager, Lydia
Troyer, and Velma Yoder, and five brothers: Albert Miller, Ernest
Miller, Milo Miller, Ammon Miller, and Annas Miller preceded him in
death.
Memorial services were held October 12, 2007 at College Mennonite
Church, Goshen, IN with burial in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, IN.
Marner owned businesses in poultry, LP gas, movile home, recreational
vehicle, and ambulance industries. He was on the first Greencroft board
of directors and served on the board for 13 years. He also served as a
board member of Salem Bank and Trust Co., Goshen.
He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Patricia Anne, 60, of North Canton, OH died October 16,
2007. She was born June 29, 1947 at Springfield, Clark County,
Ohio. She was married to William R. Miller, who survives, along
with children, William R. II "Billy" Miller; Jennifer Sue "Jenny" and
Paul Wetshtein; Jacob "Jake" Miller, and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were held October 20, 2007 at Hartville Mennonite
Church, Hartville, Stark County, Ohio.

Rosa Bontrager, 90, of Middlebury, Indiana died June 24, 2007 at
Middlebury, Indiana. She was born October 14, 1916 at LaGrange County,
Indiana to John I. and Barbara (Miller) Bontrager. On March 20,
1943 at Middlebury, Indiana she was married to Manasses C. Miller who
was born June 7, 1904 and died January 1, 1982.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki (Jim) Fidler, Linda (Gregory) Stemm,
nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her siblings: Edna Coblentz, Ida Herschberger, Lydia
Mae (Joe) Kauffman, Lee Bontrager, and Mahlon Bontrager.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Perry Bontrager, Harry
Bontrager, Mel Bontrager, Harley Bontrager, and sisters: Katie Ann
Chupp, Anna Miller, and Laura Nissley,
Rosa was a homemaker and worked at Ivers Lee, Shipshewana, and Goshen
Cushions as a seamstress for ten years, retiring in 1979. She did
custom clothing alterations as well. She was a member of First
Mennonite Church, Middlebury. She was also the first queen of the
Middlebury Summer Festival.
Memorial services were held June 27, 2007 at First Mennonite Church,
Middlebury, Indiana with burial in Grace Lawn Cemetery Middlebury,
Indiana.

Victor, 87, of Elkhart, IN died September 24, 2007 at Elkhart,
IN. He was born December 10, 1919 at New Haven, IN to Joseph and Amelia
(Delagrange) Miller. On January 11, 1945 at New Haven, IN he was
married to Marie Peters , who was born July 26, 1922 and survives.
Surviving are children, Carol (Stan) Histand, Vici (Mike) Vogel, Terry
(Debbie) Miller, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Brothers: Noah, Joseph Jr., and James and sister: Margaret Lengacher
preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held September 29, 2007 at Central Church, Fort
Wayne, IN with burial in Yaggy Cemetery Grabill, IN.
