Walter, Carroll Kulp,
91 yrs. 10 months, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania died September 18, 2007 Quakertown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania from heart complications. 

He was born November 15, 1915 at Line Lexington, Bucks County, Pennsylvania to Allen Sampie and Lizzy (Kulp) Walter.  Allen was born April 8, 1884 and died in June 1957.  Lizzy was born April 11, 1887 and died August 21, 1968.

On April 2, 1940 at Line Lexington, Bucks County, Pennsylvania he was married to Ruth Christophel, who was born March 23, 1918 and died April 17, 1988.

Surviving are children, Nancy Lou Bitikofer wife of Ervin D. Bitikofer, Fern Kay Moyer wife of Richard A. Moyer, Kenneth Lee Walter, husband of Susan L. Walter, James Marlin Walter, husband of Mary Ellen Walter, Ruth Ann Speicher wife of David Speicher, Robert Carl Walter husband of Diane Walter, Darlene Marie Walter, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Theordore Walter, husband of Arlene Walter.

A son, David Earl Walter, and a daughter, Betty Jane Walter preceded him in death.

Carroll helped with the beginning work at Haycock Mennonite Church and was a faithful member of the Haycock congregation. He worked with Salem Mennonite Church with the beginnings and in later years as a member.  He was very active with the youth and other positions with the church even in later years.

Memorial services were held September 22, 2007 at Salem Mennonite Church, Quakertown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania with burial in Line Lexington Mennonite Church Cemetery, Line Lexington, Pennsylvania.

He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Waltner, Dorothy Schmidt, 73, of Freeman, South Dakota died September 23, 2007 at Freeman, Hutchinson County, South Dakota from cancer.  She was born September 5, 1934 at Dolton, Turner County, South Dakota to Abraham and Frieda (Deckert) Schmidt.  On July 1, 1955, at Marion, Turner County, South Dakota she was married to John Dean Waltner.

Surviving are children, Terry (Kaye) Waltner, Tony Waltner, Tom (Patty) Waltner, Heidi
(Donovan) Pepper, and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, LuVerna (Verne) Goering, and Lilian (Ralph) Schroeder, and a brother, Cliff (Dawne) Schmidt.
 
Memorial services were held September 26, 2007 at Salem Mennonite Church, Freeman, Hutchinson County, South Dakota in the adjoining cemetery.

Waltner, James H., 76, of Goshen, IN died December 18, 2007 at Goshen, Indiana from cancer.  He was born September 7, 1931 at Marion, South Dakota to Henry and Ida (Kaufman) Waltner.  On June 1, 1956 at Mountain Lake, Minnesota he was married to Lenore Pankratz, who was born July 7, 1934 and survives.

Surviving are children, Rachel (Duane) Goossen; Tim (Sandy) Waltner; JoAn (Rob) Thieszen, and 3 grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Harris (Christine) Waltner, a sister, Hilda (Kenneth) Kaufman, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Waltner.

Two brothers, Harold Waltner and Calvin Waltner preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Feeman Academy and Junior College, Freeman, SD, attended
Bethel College, N. Newton KS, and graduated from Mennonite Biblical Seminary
in Chicago in 1958.  He completed a D.Min. degree at Claremont School of Theology, Claremont, CA.

He served as pastor at Salem Mennonite Church, Freeman, SD; Tabor Mennonite Church, Newton, KS; First Mennonite Church, Upland, CA; First Mennonite Church/Mennonite Church of Normal, Normal, IL; and College Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN.

He authored "This We Believe," a catechism study book for young people, in 1967, and  "Psalms," a volume in the Believers Church Bible Commentary series, published in 2006.

He served as president of Pacific District and Central District of the General Conference Mennonite Church, the General Board of the General Conference, chair of the Mennonite Biblical Seminary Board and moderator of the Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference, was overseer for five congregations of the Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference, and served 12
years on the Oaklawn board.

Memorial services were held December 30, 2007 at College Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with burial in Freeman, South Dakota.

Waltner, Johnny Henry, 90, of Freeman, SD, died March 2, 2007. He was born to Henry Joseph and Anna (Waltner) Waltner.  He was married to Mabel Fliginger, who survives.

Surviving are children, Shirley Preheim, Loren Waltner, Roger Waltner, Rodney Waltner, and seven grandchildren.

Memorial services were held March 5, 2007 at Salem Mennonite Church, Freeman, SD.

Waterman, Danny Vivian Davis, 92, of Paradis, LA died August 8 2007 at Jefferson, Jefferson Parish, LA from a stroke and  fall.  She was born May 3, 1915 at Prentiss, Jefferson Davis Co., MS to Leonard Clifton and Suzanna (Buxton) Davis.  On September 15, 1935 she was married to Orville Mennaugh Waterman, who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Orville Hallington Waterman; wife, Terry, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Benny Basco Waterman and Infant son Michael Franklin Waterman, a daughter, Patricia Ann Gaubert Callaway, one sister, Sadie McRaney, and two brothers, F.M. Davis, and Charles Curtis Davis.

She had a Ph.D. in education from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans and served as principal for many years at the St. Charles Parish Special Education facility.  After retirement, she served in the Alaskan School system as an asst. superintendent.

Memorial services were held August 10, 2007 at Des Allemands Mennonite Church, Des Allemands, St. Charles Parish, LA with burial in Westlawn Park Cemetery,  Gretna, Jefferson Parish, LA.

She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Watkins, Marcia Lynn Herschberger, 45, of Kalona, IA died August 30, 2007 at Iowa City, IA from natural causes. She was born April 8, 1962 at Washington, IA to Melvin and  Veva Herschberger. She was married to Ron Hazen , who survives.

Surviving are children, Katin Watkins, Tina Watkins, and Jeremy Wiles.

Also surviving are three brothers, Darrel Herschberger and wife Diane; Wade Herschberger and wife Cindy; and Brian Herschberber and wife Heather. A sister, Kathy Herschberger preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held September 1, 2007 at Kalona Mennonite Church, Kalona, Iowa  with burial in Sharon Hill Cemetery, Kalona, IA.

Weaver, Anna Mary Eberly Martin
94, of Ephrata, PA died September 15, 2007 at Fairmount Homes Inc., Ephrata, PA. She was born January 12, 1913 in Durlach, Ephrata Twp., Lancaster Co., PA  to  Benjamin and Annie (Oberholtzer) Eberly. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul N. Martin in 1935 and by her second husband, Rev. Luke S. Weaver in 1990.
She was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Lancaster Conference.

Survived by one daughter, Lois M., wife of J. Mark Zook of Middleburg, PA and eight step children: Irwin M., husband of Esther (Martin) Weaver of Ephrata, PA; Luke, Jr., husband of Pauline (Martin) Weaver of Ephrata, PA; Miriam, wife of Lester Weaver of Leola, PA; Thelma, wife of Nelson Hershey of Mountville, PA; Edith, wife of Paul Gehman of Ephrata, PA; Emory, husband of Joan (Hahn) Weaver of Denver, PA; Lloyd, husband of Naomi (Nolt Fry) Weaver of New Holland, PA; Rosene, wife of Leonard Martin of New Holland, PA. She is also survived by four sisters Esther Auker of Lititz, PA; Barbara Eberly of Denver, PA;  Ruth, wife of Dr. David Kauffman, M.D. of Whitefish, MT, and Mabel, wife of Irvin Miller of Lititz, PA; 7 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 42 step grandchildren, 122 step-great-grandchildren and 21 step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three stepchildren: Raymond Weaver, Pearl Eberly and Charles Weaver and also her brother and sisters: Harvey Eberly, Minnie Good, Fannie Buckwalter, Ada Rudy, and Kathryn Stover.

Funeral Service was September 20th at the Martindale Mennonite Church, Martindale, PA with Pastors Robert Trupe, Earl Sensenig and Eugene Weaver officiating. Interment was in the Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery, East Earl, PA

Weaver, David Kurtz, 55, of 6282 County Road A, Lena, Wis., died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007. David was born Aug. 3, 1951, in Lancaster County Pa., son of Clarence and Mary Weaver.

He and his wife, Martha Rose, were enroute to a funeral in Maryland. They stopped overnight with her sister and family in Ohio where David passed away peacefully in his sleep around 5:15 a.m. from apparent heart problem.

He leaves behind his grieving wife, Martha Rose Weaver, whom he married Sept. 23, 1973; seven sons, Jason (Lois) of Colorado, Anthony (Katrina) of Pennsylvania, and Glendon, Dale Mathew, Kevin, Justin and Andrew at home; two daughters, Janette (Nevin) Landis of Wisconsin and Darlene (Daniel) Eberly of Wisconsin; a grandson; and five granddaughters; six brothers, Noah (Erma) of Pennsylvania, James (Naomi) of Pennsylvania, Ammon (Elizabeth) of Pennsylvania, Aaron (Minerva) of Pennsylvania, Jesse (Martha) of Pennsylvania, Mahlon of Pennsylvania; nine sisters, Miriam, of Pennsylvania, Esther (Steve) Miller of Pennsylvania, Mary (Donald) Miller of Alberta Canada, Martha (John) Slaymaker of Pennsylvania, Rebecca (Lyle) Martin of Barwick Canada, Julia (Lynn) Heller of Pennsylvania, Corinne (Allen) Weaver of Maryland, Rhoda (Curtis) Grice of Maryland, Priscilla (Merle) Torkelson of Alberta, Canada; and his parents.

He was preceded in death by his three oldest children, Daniel age 4, Joyce age 2 and Glen David 8 months who died in a house fire November 29, 1978.

Family and friends may call 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, at Lena Mennonite Church. Funeral service will be held at Holy Cross School in Lena, Monday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Lena Mennonite Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

Weaver, Doris L. Charles, 54, of Lititz, PA died Oct. /31/2007 at Lititz, Lancaster, PA from M.S.  She was born July 17, 1953 at Leola, Lancaster Co.,, PA to C. Earl and Anna Mary (Landis) Charles.  Earl was born Sept. 18, 1914 and died July 18, 1993.  Anna Mary was born July 16, 1913 and died Dec. 25, 1999.

On June 4, 1977 in Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA she was married to Kenneth J. Weaver, who was born Nov. 22, 1952 and survives.

Surviving are children, James, Stephen, Michael, and David.  Also her siblings, Alta Ruth & Donald Sensenig, Martha Pepper, Mahlon & Hazel Charles, Paul & Ruth Ann Charlels, and Martin & Esther Wenrich.

 Two sisters, Anna Mary & Sarah Charles preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held Nov. 5, 2007 at Landis Valley Mennonite Church, Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Weaver, Harlan Lee, 56, of Lancaster, Lancaster County, PA died May 7 2007 at Lancaster, PA.  He was born April 24, 1951 at E. Cocalico Township, PA to David and Katie (Martin) Weaver. 

Surviving are his father, and four sisters: Anna Mary (wife of Raymond Wenger) Elizabeth (wife of Ken Bonnar) Ellen Weaver, Kathleen (wife of Scott Burger).

He was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, David, and Harold, and a sister, Irene.

Memorial services were held May 12, 2007 at Carpenter Community Church, Talmage, Lancaster County, PA with burial in Groffdale Frame Mennonite Church Cemetery, Lancaster County, PA.

Weaver, Mary Jane Kilmer, 88, of Elkhart, IN died September 28, 2007 at Portal, AZ.  She was born February 24, 1919 at Jimtown, Elkhart Co., IN to Herbert and Frances (Leonard) Kilmer.  On April 26, 1942 at Elkhart, IN she was married to Arthur Weaver, who was born September 12, 1917 and died February 4, 1999.

Surviving are children, Dr. Loren Weaver, Constantine, MI, Frances (Peter) Weaver Grill, Portal, AZ, a brother, Warren Kilmer and a sister, Lois (Churck) Wernicke.

Memorial services were held October 20, 2007 at Hively Avenue Mennonite Church, Elkhart, IN  with burial in Olive West Cemetery, Elkhart, IN.

Weaver, Mary Jane Kilmer

ELKHART -- Mary Jane Weaver, 88, of 59983 C.R. 1, died Sept. 28, 2007, at the home of her children in Portal, Ariz., after a brief illness.

She was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Jimtown to Frances Leonard and Herbert Kilmer. In 1943, she married Arthur Weaver. He died in 1999.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Loren Weaver, DVM, of Constantine, Mich., and Portal, Ariz.; and a daughter, Frances (Peter) Grill of Portal; a brother, Warren of Valparaiso; and a sister, Lois (Chuck) Wernicke of Swannanoa, N.C.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at Hively Avenue Mennonite Church, 800 E. Hively Ave., Elkhart, of which she was a member. Burial will precede the service.

Mrs. Weaver was a graduate of Jimtown High School and Goshen College. She taught elementary school in Elkhart and Jimtown and worked at JCPenney for many years. In 1952, she started the first private kindergarten in the county in her home on the farm in Jimtown. She was involved in the local home economics club and 4-H, helping to develop the llama club in Elkhart County. She hosted exchange students from Brazil, Kenya, Taiwan and Russia. Her love of learning led her to complete the Master Gardener Course in Elkhart County and take a Spanish class.

Weaver, Orpha Ellen Miller,
82, of Walnut Creek, OH died May 6, 2007.  She was born June 28, 1924 at Walnut Creek, OH to Alvin and Ida (Beechy) Miller.  On January 1, 1947 she was married to Marion C. Weaver, who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Bob (Kathy) Weaver; Jim (Jane) Weaver; Bill (Carol) Weaver; Max (Deb) Weaver, and ten grandchildren.

Memorial services were held May 9, 2007 at Walnut Creek Mennonite Walnut Creek OH with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Weaver, Verna Caroline, 91, of Goshen, Indiana died March 18, 2007 at Goshen, Indiana.  She was born March 15, 1916 at Middlebury, Indiana to Olen and Barbara (Mishler) Yoder.  On May 28, 1944 she was married to Joseph Allen Weaver, who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Jane Weaver, Carol Weaver, and four grandchildren.

Also surviving are her siblings: Vera (Charles) Bickel, Arlene Holdread, Doris (Robert) Wortinger, Gerald Yoder, and J.O. (Leona) Yoder.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Yoder, and a brother, Ralph Yoder

Memorial services were held April 14, 2007 at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, Indiana.

Weber, Erma M. Frey, 75, of Hagerstown, MD died May 30, 2007 at Hagerstown, MD of cancer.  She was born August 18, 1931 at Chambersburg, PA to Norman and Esther (Siegrist) Frey.  On November 21, 1954 she was married to Wayne Weber (b. July 17, 1932), who survives.

Surviving are children, Sharon Lauzus, Shirley Migliazza, and five grandchildren.

Also surviving is a sister, Margaret (Irvin, husband) Cordell.

She was preceded in death by brothers, J. Melvin Frey, Merle Frey, Richard Frey, Elwood Frey, and Kenneth Frey.

Memorial services were held June 17, 2007 at Marion Mennonite Church, Chambersburg, PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Weber, Helen H., 96, of Souderton, PA died October 20, 2007 at Souderton, Montgomery Co., PA.  She was born December 24, 1910.  Surviving are a daughter, Eleanor Munzinger (Spouse: Richard), 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Wedel, Lucinda Schultz, 96, died September 28, 2007 at Moundridge, KS.  She was born May 6, 1911 at Coy, OK to Cornelious and Anna Schultz.  On May 27, 1934 at Moundridge, KS she was married to Elmer Wedel, who died August 19, 1981.

Welty, Ida M. Zimmerly, 84, of Smithville, OH died October 10, 2007 at Wooster, Wayne Co., OH after a brief illness.  She was born November 4, 1922 at Dalton, Wayne Co., OH to Edwin and Mary (Bixler) Zimmerly.  On January 16, 1944 at Kidron, Wayne Co., OH she was married to Denver L. Welty, who survives.

Surviving are children, Larry (Deby) Welty; Donald Welty; Nancy (Don) Yutzy, 4 grandsons, and six great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are brothers: Dan (Donna) Zimmerly of Wooster, OH; David (Barbara) Zimmerly of Millersburg, OH; Jim (Carol) Zimmerly of Kidron, OH, and Ray (Hilda) Zimmerly of LaBelle, FL; sisters: Bessie Harder of Mount Lake, Minn., Lydia McClintock of Apple Creek, OH, and Lillie Steffen of Dalton, OH.

 A brother, Lester Zimmerly and a sister, Ruth Zimmerly preceded her in death.

Wenger, Edith V., 88, of Harrisonburg, VA died August 19, 2007 at Harrisonburg, VA.  She was born April 2, 1919 at Linville, VA to Oscar E. and Bessie P. (Heatwole) Wenger. 

Surviving is one sister, Mildred Plank. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Wenger and Linden Wenger.

Memorial services were held August 23, 2007 at Lindale Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg, VA  with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Wiand, Bob Lee, 61, of Fisher, IL died October 15, 2007 from a semi-truck accident.  He was born May 15, 1946 at Phoenixville, PA to C. Edward and Anna (Baker) Wiand. 

Surviving are his mother, children, Scott Wiand, Renae (John) Glass, Rachael Wiand, and one grandchild.

Also surviving are his siblings: Dean Wiand, Glen Wiand, Joel Wiand, Norma Conklin, and Jeanne Eversole.

He was a farmer since his childhood and was currently employed with Brisk Transportation, Urbana, IL and a member of East Bend Mennonite Church and also attended Vineyard Church in Urbana. Memorials may be made to East Bend Mennonite Church.

Memorial services were held October 20, 2007 at East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher, IL with burial in East Bend Memorial Gardens, Fisher, IL.

Widmer, E. Urbane,
94, of Canby, OR died September 11, 2007 at Canby, OR. He was born December 3, 1912 at Albany, Oregon to Dan and  Elfie M.(Yoder) Widmer.  On June 5, 1938 he was married to Beulah Roth, who was born November 28, 1918 and died September 7, 1991.

Surviving are children, Arlen "Woody" Widmer, Foxfield, CO, Darlene Kauffman, Canby, OR, Charlotte Everts, Keizer, OR, LaVonne Widmer, Wichita, KS, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are fours sisters, Bernice Yoder, Pauline Wyatt, Pearl King, and Nadine Brooks.

A brother, Daniel Widmer; and sisters, Alene; Luella; and Priscilla preceded him in death.

Widrick, Gerald Wilford, 77, of Lowville, NY died August 10, 2007 at Lowville, NY.  He was born July 11, 1930 at New Bremen, NY to Katherine D. Lehman (03/19/1905-01/22/1972) and Leon Widrick (07/16/1905-11/13/1978).  On November 21 1959 at New Bremen, NY he was married to Betty Anna Roggie, who was born July 28, 1936 and survives.

Surviving are children, Lynn and Charlene Widrick, Neil and Arisa Widrick, Nicholas and Gail (Widrick) Kogut, John and Kari (Widrick) Taylor, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are his siblings: Derwood and Ruth Widrick; Douglas and Frances Widrick; Glenn and Anna Margie Widrick; Ronald and Imelda (Widrick) Hills; Vernon and Maxine (Widrick) Nafziger; and Norman and Betty (Widrick) Yousey.

He served two years in 1-W voluntary service and was retired after 44 years with Climax Mfg. Co.  He donated the most blood in Lewis County, NY - over 13 gallons in his lifetime.

Wilson, Elizabeth Prosser, 84, of Mount Jackson, Virginia died November 21, 2007 at Mount Jackson, Virginia.  She was born December 7, 1922 at Greensboro, North Carolina to Hubert Timothy and Edith Elizabeth (Petree) Prosser.  On November 25 1945 she was married to Harold Wilson, who was born January 17, 1917 and died March 24, 2000.

Surviving are Daughters - Kathleen and Don Becker; Judith Bell; son: James and Sally Wilson, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

, 59, of Lancaster, PA died February 1, 2007 at home after a brief illness.  He was born September 13, 1947 at Lancaster, PA to Edward L. and Clair M. Wright, Sr.   On January 13, 1968 he was married to Donna K. Wright, who survives.

Surviving are his mother, children, Brian Patterson, husband of Cindy Patterson, Lancaster, PA; Clifford J. Wright, Jr., Lancaster, PA; Tina M. Wright, Middletown, PA; Ashley T., Lancaster, PA; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are brothers and sisters: Edward Wright, Jr., Lancaster, PA; Leon Wright, Millersville,PA; Marion Puryear, Mount Joy, PA; Janie Good, Lancaster, PA; and Edna Wright, Manheim, PA.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Wyse, Edith Grieser, 89, of Archbold, Ohio died May 25, 2007 from complications. She was born to Albert and Priscilla (Vonier) Grieser. She was married to Jefferson “Junior” Wyse, who died May 27, 1992.

Surviving are children, Jeffry (Angie) Wyse, Karen (Gary) Smith, Darlene (John) Dechant, Faith (Ron) Frey, LuAnn (Mark) West, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.

Yoder, Delmar D., 85, of Goshen, IN died January 30, 2007 at Goshen, Indiana from cancer.  He was born January 29, 1922 at Kalona, Iowa to Chris and Barbara (Troyer) Yoder.  On March 27, 1943 he was married to Lurmae Slead, who survives.

Surviving are children, Paula (Tom) Meyers; Dennis (Christine) Yoder, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are siblings: Leola (Clayton) White; Minerva (Emil) Yoder; Lester W. Yoder; Floyd (Marjorie) Yoder; and Kenneth (Barbara) Yoder.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Yoder, and a brother, Cecil Yoder.

Yoder, Harvey Daniel, 79, of Fort Wayne, IN died March 17, 2007 at Roanoke, IN from candida pneumonia.  He was born June 25, 1927 at Quakertown, PA to Harvey G and Anna (Delp) Yoder.   Harvey was born May 1901 and died May 1929.  Anna was born _____ and died November 1972.

On October 20, 1951 in Chicago, IL he was married to Marilyn Jean Messer, who was born July 5, 1932 and survives.

Surviving are children, Lori, Deborah, Matthew, Barbara, Suzanne, Mari Lyn, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Wade, and Virginia and Morris Frederick.

A sister, Shirley Neubert, and a grandson, Eric Lesh preceded him in death.

He was a WWII Veteran, District Commissioner for Boy Scouts of America, recipient
of Silver Beaver Award and The Good Shepard award for Scouting.

Yoder, Illa Mae Erb, 79, of Kalona, Iowa died September 27, 2007 at Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. She was born February 3, 1928 in Seward County, Nebraska to Louis and Mabel (Roth) Erb.  On December 7, 1947 at East Fairvew Church, Milford, Nebraska she was married to D. Paul Yoder, who survives.

Surviving are children, Jerry Yoder and wife, Marcia; Mary Holsopple and husband, Elroy;
Merle Yoder and wife, Linda; Ellsward 'Pete" Yoder and wife, Barb; Rhonda Polizzotto and husband Greg; Kevin Yoder and wife, Bekkey Wiebe Yoder; 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Milton and wife Donna Erb and Ron and wife Pam Erb.

Yoder, Lester David, 90, of Kalona, Johnson, IA died April 23, 2007 at Iowa City, IA from complications of a fall.  He was born May 4, 1916 at Iowa City, IA to Jonas and Amelia (Yoder) Yoder.  On July 6, 1941 he was married to Pauline Miller, who survives.

Surviving are children, Loran Yoder and wife April, Joyce Yoder, Shirley Yoder Bell and husband Gary, Damon Yoder and wife Jan, and seven grandchildren.

Yoder, Marion “Tex,” 75, of Kalona, Iowa died January 14, 2007 of natural causes.  He was born to Willis G. and Elizabeth Ann (Bender) Yoder.  On August 10, 1957 he was married to Doris Reber, who survives.

Surviving are children, Marla Yoder, Mary Yoder, June Yoder, Julie Yoder, and Morgan Yoder and wife DeAnn.

Yoder, Martha M. 62, of rural Amboy, Indiana, for-merly of Arthur, died Saturday, February 10, 2007, at her home.

Funeral services were held February 15 at the Gary Bontrager residence in rural Amboy with Bishop Ray Herschberger officiating. Burial was in Christner Cem-etery, Miami County, Indi-ana.

Mrs. Yoder was born De-cember 4, 1944, in Arthur. She was a daughter of Menno L. and Anna Mast Stutzman. She married Joe A. Yoder on October 25, 1967, in Arthur. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Clara Ann Plank and husband Reuben of Lovington and Lou Ann Yoder of Amboy; two sisters, Sovilla Chupp and husband Floyd and Edna Stutzman, all of Lovington; a brother, John M. Stutzman and wife Martha of Arthur; a brother-in-law, Alvin J. Schrock, and a grandchild, Rosanna Plank of Lovington:

Yoder, Martha V., 99, of Goshen, IN died September 2, 2007 at Goshen, IN. She was born July 14, 1908 at Smithville, OH to John S. and  Sarah (Hartzler) Yoder. 

A brother, Howard C. Yoder and two sisters, Mary (Cloy) Miller, and Ruth (Lester) Litwiller preceded her in death.

She graduated from Goshen College in 1930 and taught school in southwestern U. S. and in a one-room school in Ohio.

Memorial services were held September 7, 2007 at Greencroft Meetinghouse, Goshen, IN, with burial in Oak Grove Mennonite Cemetery, Smithville, OH.

Yoder, Mary Alice, 82, of Mechanicsville, VA died June 7, 2007 of lung and brain cancer.  She was born to Boyd and Katie Sieber.  She was married to E. Duane Yoder for 62 years. 

Surviving are her husband, children, Timothy Yoder and wife Fifi, Christopher Yoder and wife Chai-Wei,  Jeffrey Yoder and wife Marketa, and five grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother - Paul Sieber and wife Martha.  She was preceded in death by brother - Floyd Sieber, brother - Samuel Sieber, and sister – Grace.

YODER, Mary Alice Yoder of Mechanicsville, Va. passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Heritage Green of Hanover after a two-year battle with lung and brain cancer. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, E. Duane Yoder; three sons and wives, Timothy Yoder and (Fifi) of Mechanicsville, Christopher Yoder and (Chia-Wei) of Washington, D.C., Jeffrey Yoder and (Marketa) of Bristow, Va. She is survived by five grandchildren, Samuel, Nicholas, Maria, Alexander and Noah. She is survived by her brother, Paul Sieber of Champaign, Ill. and sister-in- law, Martha Sieber; and sister- in-law Loraine Sieber of Freeport, Ill.; also surviving, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Katie Sieber of Freeport, Ill.; two brothers, Floyd and Samuel; and sister, Grace. Mary was born near Dakota, Ill. and attended Dakota schools. She always enjoyed telling people she was an Illinois farm girl. Mary received her nursing degree from the former Deaconess Hospital, now Freeport Memorial, Freeport, Illinois. She loved to work in the surgical unit of the hospital. Her last employment for 20 years was at Fort Wayne, Indiana, Parkview Hospital. Her greatest pleasure was working in her garden with flowers of all kinds, traveling was also a part of her life, visiting four other continents. After her retirement she worked as a volunteer in a maple sugar camp showing school children how sap from maple trees became syrup. She also served as a hospice volunteer and as a volunteer for the church helping wherever needed. Mary accepted Christ as her Savior in her youth. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Richmond, Va. Remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where family will receive friends Saturday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. from the First Mennonite Church, 601 E. Parham Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Mennonite Church.

Yoder, Mildred Louise Clemens, 78, of Souderton, PA died November 9, 2007 at Peoria, Arizona from brain cancer.  She was born January 7, 1929 at Sellersville, PA to Raymond S. and Esther (Moyer) Clemens.  On May 12, 1951 at Souderton, PA she was married to Henry P. Yoder, who was born July 20, 1928 and survives.

Surviving are children, Allan, spouse Rebeca; Anita Rusk, spouse Andy; Cristina; David; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister Olive Kuhns, spouse James; and a brother, R. Wayne, spouse Donella.

A brother, Edgar, spouse Rhoda, preceded her in death.

She was a missionary to Cuba, teacher, and MCC worker in Guatemala, Central America.

Memorial services were held November 15, 2007 at Trinity Mennonite Church, Glendale, Arizona. Cremation.

Roger Lee Yoder, 44, of Arthur, passed away at 6;02 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Sunnyside Mennonite Church 475 E. State Rt. 133, Arcola. Rev. Larry Rocke and Rev. Dave Miller officiated. Burial was in the Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday May 6, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m., and Monday, May 7, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church. Edwards Funeral Home 221 E. Main St., Arcola, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Mr. Yoder was born December 15, 1962 in Pryor, Oklahoma, a son of David J. and Vera (Stutzman) Yoder. He married Delilah Schrock on May 28, 2000, in Mazie, Oklahoma. She survives:

His maternal grandparents, Joe and Fannie Stutzman; paternal grandfather, John Henry Yoder; and his mother--in-law, Gertie Ann Schrock preceded him in death.
Mr. Yoder enjoyed listening to music, grilling out, and most of all he enjoyed being with his son. Memorials may be made to the family.    ,

Yoder, Ruth Glick, 80, of Leo, Indiana died March 29, 2007 at Fort Wayne, Indiana from an automobile accident.  She was born June 22, 1926 at Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Daniel and Lillian (Smoker) Glick. She was married to Lee Ivan Yoder, who survives.

Surviving are children, Vic & Judy Alger; Jerry & Julie Yoder; Jess & Helen Yoder, and
seven grandchildren.

Yoder, Sylvanus N., 89, of Arthur, IL died July 23, 2007 at Mattoon, IL from heart failure.  He was born December 18, 1917 at Arthur, IL to Noah and Eliza (Yoder) Yoder.  On November 3, 1938 at Arthur, IL he was married to Fannie Chupp, who was born November 16, 1916 and survives.

Surviving are four daughters, Sarah & Dick Storm, Katie & Leland Haines, Elsie & Ervin Gingerich, Cora & Ray Tyhurst, a son, Levi & Glora Yoder, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are his siblings, Katie Ann & Steve Kauffman, Andy Ray Yoder, and Clara Mae Martin.  He was     preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Sylvanus N. Yoder, 89, of Arthur, IL went to be with his Lord and Savior at 8:11 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, at Gowin Parc in Mattoon.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at Arthur Mennonite Church with Pastor Glen Rhodes officiating. Burial was in Arthur Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday afternoon and evening at the church. Edwards Funeral Home, Arcola, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mr. Yoder was born December 18, 1917, in Arthur. He was the son of Noah and Eliza Yoder. He married Fannie Chupp on November 3, 1938, in Arthur. They were married 68 years. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Levi Yoder and wife Gloria of Lovington; four daughters, Sarah Storm and husband Dick of Arthur, Katie Haines and husband Leland.of Goshen, Indiana, Elsie Gingerich and husband Ervin of Elkhart, Indiana, and Cora Tyhurst and husband Ray of Arthur; one brother, Andy Ray Yoder of Leonard, Missouri; two sisters, Clara Mae Martin of East Earl, Pennsylvania, and Katie Ann Kauffman and husband Steve of Arthur; 13 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; and two step greatgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and six brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Yoder was a retired farmer and was an International Harvester dealer in Arthur from 1969 to 1978. He was a member of the Arthur Mennonite Church.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, and especially his grandchildren.

He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and grandpa; he enjoyed going to church, spending time in God's word, and he was a man of prayer.

ARCHBOLD -- Sylvia M. Yoder, 94, Archbold, died Wednesday night, July 25, 2007, at Archbold Hospital.
She was born May 18, 1913, in Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Moses and Catherine (Yoder) Mishler. In [10-8-] 1939, she married Leo Yoder, who survives. She was a homemaker, baked and sold homemade bread and rolls and was a member of Tedrow Mennonite Church.
Also surviving are a son, Joe (Miriam), Keezletown, Va.; two daughters, Sheryl (Bob) Miller of Kalona and Eileen (Roland) Myers, Lebanon, Pa.; and six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Arletta Mattsson-Boze; two brothers, Jacob and Robert Mishler; and two sisters, Ida Keim and Mary Swartzendruber.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Tedrow Mennonite Church with Pastor Randy Nafziger officiating. Burial will precede services at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pettisville Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Saturday at Fairlawn Chapel, Archbold. Handling arrangements is Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Preferred memorials are to Mennonite Disaster Service or March of Dimes.

Yutzy, Galen R., 50, of Plain City, OH died December 10, 2007 at Plain City, Ohio after a 9 months battle with cancer.  He was born October 8, 1957 at Marysville, OH to the late Alvin R. and Amanda (Kuhns) Ytuzy.

Surviving are two brothers, Gary (Ina Beachy) Yutzy, and Mark (Kathy Hostetler) Yutzy, and a sister, Betty Yutzy.

Zehr, Melvin D., 84, of Fisher, IL died October 22, 2007 at Gibson City, IL. He was born June 12, 1923 at Deer Creek Twp., Tazewell Co., IL to Daniel A. and Katie E. Zehr.  On November 29, 1997 he was married to Edith Heiser.

Surviving are children, Paul Zehr (Kathleen Erickson), Tom Zehr (Rachel), Philip Zehr
(Debra), Rebecca Moyer (Ken), step-children: Cleona Swartzentruber, (Dean), Carol Nunn (Steve), John Heiser (Lisa), ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and three great step grandchildren.

Also surviving are siblings: Lela Keller, Fern Helmuth (Orva); and Wilmer Zehr (Evelyn).
 
Melvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Roszhart Zehr of Ludlow, IL, a sister, Viola Birky, and a brother, Wayne Zehr.

Melvin enjoyed collecting toy tractors, especially John Deere. He maintained an extensive pen and pencil collection and was a member of the American Pencil Collector's Society. He was actively involved in the East Bend Mennonite Church and enjoyed interacting with friends and family. Melvin was devoted to helping others including disaster relief work and assisting neighbors, young and old, in many ways. Melvin was a wonderful husband, father,
grandfather, and friend. He was a gentle but strong man, and his family loved him dearly.

Zook, Merle Kenneth, 79, of Lakewood, CO died July 22, 2007 at Lakewood, Jefferson Co., CO from a heart attack. He was born January 23, 1928 at Allensville, PA to Uriel and Kathryn (Durr) Zook.  On April 17, 1949 he was married to Grace Wenger, who died March 30, 1987.

Surviving are children, Ken (Mae) Zook, Barb (Stan) Swartzendruber, Rose (Mike) Barber, Les (Gwen) Gustafson-Zook, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held July 25, 2007 at Glennon Heights Mennonite Church, Lakewood, Jefferson Co., CO.

He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Zook, Merlin W., age 70, of Camp Hill,[PA], passed away Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born July 2, 1937 in Scottdale, PA, he was the son of the late Ellrose D. and Frances Loucks Zook.
Merlin was a graduate of Goshen College where he received his Bachelors of Arts in 1959 and later achieved his Masters of Science in Meteorology from Penn State University in 1961. >From 1961 to 1963, Merlin worked for the Mennonite Central Committee. In 1963 Merlin began his career with the PA Dept. of Environmental Resources and in 1979 became a Certified Consulting Meteorologist. Merlin continued his career in environmental resources and eventually retired as an Air Quality Program Specialist in the year 2000. He was a member of Slate Hill Mennonite Church [Camp Hill, PA] where he was a Sunday School Teacher for over 40 years. He enjoyed bird watching, astronomy, studying rocks and fossils, Ancient Greek language and loved reading.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Maxine Hartzler Zook; a son, Kevin R. Zook of Lawrenceville, GA; a daughter, Kathleen J. and her husband Jeff Klassen; a grandson, Aaron F. Klassen, all of Richmond, VA; and his twin brother, Mervin D. Zook of Goshen, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday in Slate Hill Mennonite Church, 1352 Slate Hill Road, Camp Hill.[PA], Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday in the church.
