Surviving are children, Susan (Ed) Lantz of Clarksville, TN, Bette (Vern) Dahl of Archbold, Rex (Nancy) Waidelich of Pettisville, Jay (Joyce) Waidelich of Sugar Creek, OH, and Lee (Shawn) Waidelich of Pettisville; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Virgil (Marylouise) Waidelich and Gene (Mary Alice) Waidelich both of Archbold; three sisters, Marjorie (Charles) Gautsche, Donna (Lyle) Friesen and Grace (Ray) Kinsey, all of Archbold.
A lifelong resident of the Wauseon/Archbold area, he farmed, founded Archbold Equipment in 1965 and since retirement worked for Mennonite Mutual Insurance. He was an avid coin collector and a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville.
Memorial services were held July 19, 2011 at West Clinton Mennonite Church, Wasueon, OH with burial in Pettisville Cemetery, Pettisville OH.

She was born December 6, 1922 at Freeman to Peter and Minnie (Downer) Fliginger. Peter was born November 12, 1881 and died December 1, 1965. Minnie was born March 16, 1881 and died July 2, 1965.
On September 26, 1944 at Freeman she was married to Johnny H. Waltner, who was born June 10, 1916 and died March 2, 2007.
Surviving are children, Shirley Preheim, Loren (Carolyn) Waltner, Roger (Peg) Waltner, and Rodney (Vernetta) Waltner, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Dalton Waltner, brothers Frank & Ralph Fliginger, and sisters, Ruth (Al) Gross, Pearl (Cornelius) Wedell, Grace (Ralph) Worden, and Ethel (Gerrit) Rexwinkel preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held October 1, 2011 at Salem Mennonite Church, Freeman, Turner CO., SD with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

He was born September 10, 1909 at Freeman, SD to Emil J. and Mary (Goering) Waltner. Emil was born February 4, 1885 and died January 22, 1981. Mary was born July 12, 1887 and died September 9, 1975.
On August 8, 1931 at Carter, SD Willard was married to Florence Adelia Leigh, who was born September 17, 1908 and died November 11, 1995.
Surviving are two daughters, Winona (Leslie) Senner, and Dianne (Anthony) Epp, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
An infant son Emil, and a sister, Elma Waltner preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held May 18, 2011 at Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton, KS with burial in Salem Mennonite Church, Freeman, SD at a later date.

He was born in New Holland to John and Leah (Horst) Weaver and was the husband of Anna Newswanger.
Alvin was a member of Martindale Old Order Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference). He was a farmer most of his life, who also worked at the Green Dragon livestock auction and Spring Glen Kitchen.
He is survived by 3 sons, Ivan, husband of Nancy (Martin) Weaver of Bethel, Titus, husband of Mary (Leid) Weaver of Ephrata, Raymond, husband of Edna (Hoover) Weaver of Mifflinburg; 3 daughters, Alma, wife of Harvey Shirk of Narvon, Rachel, wife of Landis Burkholder of Kutztown, Mary, wife of Elam Nolt of Ephrata; 4 brothers, Norman, husband of Katie (Snyder) Weaver of Leola, Eli husband of Mable (Nolt) Weaver of Leola, John, husband of Edna (Burkholder) Weaver of Kutztown, Elmer, husband of Elizabeth (Burkholder) Weaver of Fleetwood; 2 sisters, Ada, wife of Aaron Burkholder of Fleetwood and Mary, wife of Harold Zimmerman of Woodbury; 36 grandchildren; and 75 great grandchildren.
Alvin was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Henry Weaver and Paul Weaver; 3 sisters, Nora Martin, Anna Weaver and Mable Weaver; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the home of Elam Nolt, 972 Newswanger Road, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the home of Elam Nolt, with further services at 9:30 a.m. from the Martindale Old Order Mennonite Church with Bishop Titus H. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

BEAVER SPRINGS - Carl W. Weaver, 50, of Beaver Springs, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. He died unexpectedly at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, due to heart complications. He was born in Lebanon, a son of the late Ivan M. and Lavina G. (Weaver) Weaver. He was married for 26 years to the former Vera S. Hoover. Carl was a pastor of Juniata Mennonite Church in Port Royal, a truck driver and a part time farmer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children, Regina Weaver, of Mountain View, Ariz., Irene, Mrs. Jesse Zook, of East Waterford; Gerald Weaver, of Fairfield, Mont., Luanne Weaver, Gary Weaver, Lynelle Weaver and Evanna Weaver, all at home; one grandson, Caleb Zook; four brothers and six sisters, Leon Weaver and his wife, Velma, of Ephrata, Miriam, Mrs. John Henry Stover, of Emory, Texas, Erma, Mrs. Glenn Martin, of Myerstown, Helen, Mrs. John David Martin, of Woodbury, Tenn., Luke Weaver and his wife, Lois, of Myerstown, Lavina, Mrs. David High of Pitman, Ivan Weaver and his wife, Verna, of Mifflintown, Minerva, Mrs. Aaron Weaver and Glen Weaver and his wife, Anna, all of Millmont, and Sara, Mrs. Elber Calderon, of New Holland.

JONESTOWN Clarence N. Weaver, 82, passed away on Monday October 31, 2011, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Mary H. Kurtz Weaver. Born in Lancaster County on October 21, 1929, he was the son of the late Ivan G. and Anna Nolt Weaver. He was a member of the Hamlin Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference and had worked as a mechanic.

GOSHEN - Daniel G. Weaver, 83, Goshen, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Oct. 18, 2011, at the home of his daughter and caregiver, Norma Wagner, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's.
He was born June 2, 1928, to Eli and Barbara (Gehman) Weaver in Goshen. He married Susie (Martin) Weaver on Sept. 11, 1949, and she survives. He spent most of his life in Elkhart County as a dairy farmer and factory worker. He also worked at Everett's Grocery store in Goshen for 12 years. In 1982, he moved to Dayton, Va., for a few years, where he taught one year at Mountain View School.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Elam, John, Isaac and Ivan; four sisters, Mary Imhoff, Anna Martin, Martha Burkholder and Elizabeth Weaver; and one great-granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Weaver of Virginia.
Surviving with his wife, Susie Weaver, are one daughter, Norma Wagner of Goshen; one son, Tom (Emily) Weaver of Harrisonburg, Va.; five grandsons, Steven (Junelle) Showalter of Goshen, Kent (Ruthann) Weaver of Weyers Cave, Va., Kieth (Miranda) Weaver of Mount Solon, Va., Kevin (Amy) Weaver of Harrisonburg, and Kerry Weaver of Hinton, Va.; granddaughter Lisa (Wilson) Wenger of Mount Solon, Va.; eight great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kristen, Jody and Kelsey Showalter, Shania, Satina and Skylar Weaver and Hayley Wenger; two brothers, William G. Weaver of Nappanee and Christian Weaver of Goshen; and sister Lucy G. (Ralph) Martin of Goshen.
He was a member of Wisler Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today 2011, at the RMYC, located on C.R. 44 between C.R. 11 and C.R. 13. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church, Goshen. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery.

Grace E. Weaver
GRACE E. WEAVER, 95, FORMERLY OF ROYERSFORD Grace E. Weaver, 95, a resident of Souderton Mennonite Homes, 207 W. Summit St., Souderton, PA 18964, since Spring of 2006, passed away on Sunday, April 24, at Dock Terrace in Towamencin Twp.
She was the second resident to move into the newly opened Dock Woods Community in 1981 and lived there for 25 years. Prior to that she lived in Royersford. Born in Royersford on April 4, 1916, she was one of six children born to the late Jonas A. and Emma (Kolb) Weaver.
Miss Weaver was affectionately known as "Aunt Grace" to many people. She was a member of Vincent Mennonite Church in Spring City, where in her earlier years she taught the Nursery Sunday school class. She was an avid reader and enjoyed hand sewing, especially quilting. She was employed by several families in the Royersford area and continued a close relationship with their relatives.
A sister, Florence Weaver Keener, of Talmage; sister-in-law, Florence Weaver, of Souderton; 10 nieces and 17 nephews, and many great nieces and nephews survive her.
She was preceded in death by Harold and Iona Weaver, Kathryn W. and Jesse Ehst, Robert Keener, Paul Weaver, and Gerald and Rhoda Weaver.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, at Vincent Mennonite Cemetery, Mennonite Church Rd. & Rte. 724, Spring City. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Vincent Mennonite Church, 39 Seven Stars Rd., Spring City. Washington – Irma L. Weaver, 86, of Washington passed away at Methodist Medical Center on Thursday November 17, 2011 at 11:45 PM. She was born on January 19, 1925 in Elkhart County, Indiana to Samuel and Mattie Anderson Frey. She married Kenneth Weaver on April 9, 1942 in Jasper County, IN. He survives.
Also surviving are four sons; Duane (Carole) of Bloomington, IL, Douglas (Mary) of Albuquerque, NM, Rodney (Karen) of Gettysburg, PA ,and Gregory in Redmond, WA; one daughter Beverly (Ron) Riggins in Washington; two sisters, Ada Fecht in Washington and Elizabeth Stevens in Elkhart, IN;1 step-sister, Regina Frey; 2 step-brothers, Norman (Judy) Frey, and Lamar (Genie Ann) Frey; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was active in her church, Metamora Mennonite for more than 60 years. She served many years there as a librarian and was a member of the same Bible study group for 30 years. Her lifelong love of reading was instilled in her children and grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family at Metamora Mennonite Church from 3-5 PM on Sunday November 20, 2011. There will be a private burial service for the family at Hickory Point Cemetery on Monday with a memorial service following at the church at 11 AM. Pastor Michael Danner and Associate Pastor Ada Nofsinger will officiate.

- MILLMONT - John R. Weaver, 52, gazed in awe on scenes of glory while passing away in his 18 Penn St., Millmont home, surrounded by his family at 1 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011. He had battled cancer since December 2010.
He was born June 20, 1959, in Salem, Ohio, a son of Howard and Arlene Weaver, of Middleburg. John's family relocated from Salem to Middleburg in 1965. On June 19, 1982, he married the former Brenda M. Furtak, who survives.
He attended Penn View Christian Academy, Penns Creek.
He worked on the Weaver family farm until he was employed by Rovendale Ag and Barn Equipment, Watsontown, where he worked for the past 14 years.
John managed for many years the strawberry business on the family farm located on Walnut Acres Road near Penns Creek. He was labeled "the world's best boss" by his faithful strawberry pickers and befriended many customers and marketers for more than 30 years of production.
He was a member of the Millmont Mennonite Church, and was involved with community outreach programs for many years.
John will be remembered for his quiet, faithful life, his love of infants and children, and his strong work ethic. An often-selected service man, he was the farmers' friend and problem solver.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, by five children and their spouses, LaNell and Nate Reiff, of Mifflinburg, Lori and Joseph Peachey, of Bay Tree, Alberta, Canada, Edward John Weaver, of Millmont, Stanton Weaver, of Millmont, and Holly Weaver, of Millmont; four grandchildren, Hans, Lynn, and Anya Reiff, and Adryen Peachey; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Lois Weaver, of Middleburg, James and Joy Weaver, of Lewisburg, and Dan and Tina Weaver, of Lewisburg; and one sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and John Stoltzfus, of Hillside, Colo.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Millmont Mennonite Church, 1300 Millmont Road, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 with Jonathan Schmidt, Keith Clugston, and Lewis Hoover, officiating ministers.
Burial will be in the Millmont Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Born April 8, 1992 in Lititz, he was a son of Nelson M. and Mary M. Hoover Weaver of Newville.
He was the right-hand man on his parents' dairy farm and a member of the Oakville Mennonite Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a special friend, Sharon Martin, of Dry Run; three brothers, Matthew H. Weaver and his wife Lynette of Lebanon, David H. and Nathan H. Weaver of Newville; two sisters, Regina H. Good and her husband Marcus of Shippensburg, and Rosanna H. Weaver of Newville; paternal grandparents, Abram M. and Irene M. Martin Weaver of Newville; and maternal grandparents, Aaron H. and Vera Z. Martin Hoover of Manheim; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an aunt.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Oakville Mennonite Church and Cemetery on Willis Road, Newville at 9:30 a.m. There will be no viewing; however, a visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at 701 Shippensburg Road, Newville, PA 17241.
Due to religious reasons, omission of flowers is requested.

GOSHEN -- Nina Viola Weaver, 102, died Friday (April 29, 2011) at Greencroft Healthcare.
Nina was born Dec. 20, 1908, in St. Joseph County to the late Joseph and Mary Weldy. She married Paul F. Weaver on Aug. 10, 1929, in Wakarusa. He died Feb. 7, 1996.
Surviving are three daughters, Evelyn (Kenneth) Miller of Hesston, Kan., Fay Etta (Donald) Horst of Lansing, Mich., and Shirley (Ernst) Penner of Newton, Kan.; three sons, Edward R. (Irene) of Menominee, Mich., Wayne (Mary Glenn) of Granger and Lawrence (Michael Bonenberger) of Sioux Falls, S.D.; son-in-law, Larry (Lonnie) Wyse of Naubinway, Mich.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a stepsister, Estella Hartman of Goshen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Wyse in 1983; a great-grandson, Gregory Shepherd; 12 brothers and sisters; and eight stepbrothers and stepsisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:30 a.m., Thursday memorial service will be conducted at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church with Pastors Wes Bontreger and Katie Cunningham officiating.
Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen.

Nina Weaver's Life Story
Read at her Funeral Service on May 5, 2011
Yellow Creek Mennonite Church
Nina Viola Weaver was born on December 20, 1908 in St. Joseph County Indiana. She was the 9 th child of 13 children born to Joseph and Mary Sheets Weldy. As a youth, Nina attended Holdeman Mennonite Church west of Wakarusa, where she was baptized at age 12. At age 14, her mother Mary died. A year later, her father remarried and 9 step sisters and brothers were added to the family. At age 17, Nina left home to work for a widower. At age 20, on August 10, 1929, Nina was married to Paul F. Weaver, a cabinet maker, of Wakarusa. Together they attended Paul's church, Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, where he was chorister. They lived less than a mile north east of the church next to a cemetery.
Nina and Paul were blessed with seven children: Evelyn, Edward, Fay Etta, Shirley, Jane, Wayne and Lawrence. When Lawrence was a baby, they moved to Fort Wayne, where they lived for six years before moving to Michigan's Upper Peninsula in 1952. There, they were called to help plant a church and Paul supported the family as a cabinet maker. Nina worked as a cook at the Mueller School for several years. Following Paul's retirement in 1968, they entered Mennonite Voluntary Service and spent two years at Frontier Boys Village in Colorado, and two years at Spruce Lake Retreat, in Pennsylvania. Then they were called to Colorado Springs to pastor the First Mennonite Church, where Paul was ordained. Nina, served alongside Paul at the church for seven years.
In 1979, Nina and Paul returned to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where they built a home and served Naubinway Mennonite Church. In 1989, Paul and Nina moved to Greencroft Retirement Center in Goshen, IN and returned to Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Paul died in February 7, 1996, after Nina and Paul had celebrated sixty-six and one half years of marriage. At Greencroft Manor II, Nina enjoyed quilting and assisting in the dining room, Bible study and reading Christian fiction. In the past few years, Nina's health declined and she moved to the Greencroft Healthcare Unit, where she lived until the Lord called her home on Friday, April 29 th , 2011, at age 102.
In addition to her husband Paul, Nina was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Wyse in 1983, a great-grandson, Gregory Shepherd; six brothers: Charles, Irvin, William, Kenneth, Harvey and Raymond Weldy; six sisters, Nora Richer, Goldie Wenger, Mabel Weaver, Anna Leichty, Berneice Martin and Lola Walters, as well as eight step-brothers and sisters.
Nina is survived by three daughters, Evelyn (Kenneth) Miller of Hesston, Kansas, Fay Etta (Donald) Horst of Lansing, Michigan and Shirley (Ernst) Penner of Newton, Kansas; three sons, Edward R. (Irene) Weaver of Menominee, Michigan, Wayne (Mary Glenn) Weaver of Granger, IN, and Lawrence (Michael Bonenberger) Weaver of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; plus a son-in-law Larry (Lonnie) Wyse of Naubinway, Michigan. In addition, she is survived by 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and a number of great grand children, one step sister, Estella Hartman of Goshen and numerous nieces and nephews. Praise be to God for his faithfulness to Nina and her 90 years of dedication and service to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I began visiting with Nina in the year 2000, when began serving as Minister of Visitation and Senior Care.
Nina was committed to reading her Bible and prayer. In the year 2000, she told me that she had read the Old Testament through four times and the New Testament 20 times. She continued regular devotional times and read Christian Fiction. She also participated in Bible Studies and Evening Worship at Manor II in addition to Sunday morning worship at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. She also stimulated her mind in her 90's by quilting several times a week and by playing table games every night except Sunday: Aggrevation, Skip Bo, Blind Domino, Scrabble, UNO.
She had been a widow for four years by this time. She displayed the furniture and sculptures that Paul had made for her and pictures of her children and their families. She was so thankful for family visits and reunions and prayed for her family daily. She was proud of their musical ability –“something they inherited from Paul”.
But what impressed me most, was the consistent way she showed the fruits of the Spirit described in Galatians 5: 22-23 in her daily life; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Of course this is easier when you feel well. What amazed me, as she slowly developed health problems, that she was not a complainer. Even when she finally had to move to Health Care, when I would visit her and ask how she was, she would say, “They are good to me here. I can't complain.” She also always asked how things were at Yellow Creek.
She continued to seek God face and to pray that she would remain faithful to the end. I have been blessed by Nina's life and witness. Praise be to God!

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. -- S. Edward "Ed" Weaver, 87, Casa Grande, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011.
He was born June 26, 1924, in Elkhart to Merrill S. and Clara (Fink) Weaver. He married Zelma K. (Bricker) Weaver on March 17, 1946. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cheryl J. Weaver of Goshen, Ind.; son Karl (Bonnie) Weaver of Casa Grande; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two sons, John Weaver in 2004 and Craig Weaver in 2005.
Ed was an insurance agent and farmer. He was member of the Gideons, Nappanee Missionary Church and in charge of the class of 1938, Boner School Alumni Reunion.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Nappanee Missionary Church, 70417 S.R. 19, Nappanee, where the service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. Pastors Dave and Marvin Engbrecht and Pastor Kevin Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Olive (West) Cemetery.

Raymond was a self employed truck driver with Martin Limestone for over 50 years. He later was a dealer for Ravens Trailers. He was also a member at Weaverland Mennonite Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Elaine, married to Gerald Kurtz of Morgantown, Janice, married to Carl Campbell of Mooresville, NC, Sherlyn, married to Elton Horst of Leola, and Keith, married to Karen (Shirk) Weber of Leola; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four sisters, Mary Weaver of New Holland, Ida Weaver of Hesston, KS, Mabel Hurst and Irene Rutt both of New Holland.
Preceding him in death are six brothers, Edgar, Ivan, Henry and Peter Martin, and Martin and Amos Weber; and a sister, Anna Hursh.

GOSHEN -- Marjorie E. Weldy, 96, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Greencroft Healthcare where she had been since May 24.
She was born in Smithville, Ohio, on July 28, 1915, to the late Peter R. and Barbara (Eicher) Conrad. She married Dwight E. Weldy on June 8, 1941, in Smithville, Ohio. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Cheryl (James) Martin of Greenwood, Mary (Tony) Clasen of West Liberty, Ohio, and Ruth (Kevin) Fitz-Gerald of Lexington, Ky.; a son, David (Ann) Weldy of Monclova, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nettie Rufenacht and Elva Horst.
A 1933 graduate of Smithville High School and a 1940 graduate of Goshen College, Mrs. Weldy was a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen. A MCC volunteer, she was also a member of Phalo Book Club and Questers. She enjoyed entertaining friends, sewing and flowers.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Koinonia Room, College Mennonite Church. An 11 a.m. Thursday, graveside service will be conducted at Olive Cemetery East, Wakarusa. Wenger, Agnes Stutzman, 89, of Perry, Georgia, died Friday, April 1, 2011. She was born in Goshen, IN on November 14, 1921, to Harvey J. and Pearl (Miller) Stutzman. She married Lawrence R. Wenger on July 8, 1949, in Goshen. He died July 10, 2001.
She was a member of Waterford Mennonite Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn (Mark) Watson of Goshen, IN; Linda (Johnny) Yoder of Montezuma, Georgia, and Judy Wenger of Perry, Georgia; a son, Stanley Wenger of Albany, Georgia; nine grand children; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Esther Grover and Doris Stutzman, both of Goshen, IN.

Harold E. Wess age 93, of Canton passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011. He was born inCanton, Ohio on July 5, 1918 to the late Ferd and Mary (Falk) Wess. He retiredfrom Diebold's after 38 years of service. Harold was a member of the Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville.

NAPPANEE -- Joseph A. Whetstone, 78, of Plymouth-Goshen Trail, Nappanee, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday (Aug. 5, 2011) at his residence.
He was born Oct. 11, 1932, to Amos and Mattie Whetstone. He is survived by his wife, Katie; daughter Emma Sue (Marvin) Yoder and sons David (Ruth) Whetstone and Ernest (Marlene) Whetstone, all of Nappanee; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna (Paul) Graber of Guthrie, Ky.; brothers Ervin (Edna) of Topeka, John Henry (Wilma) of Irvington, Ky., Amos Jr. (Katie Ellen) of Goshen and David (Alma) of Nappanee; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Whetstone, Nappanee. INMAN - David M. Whitermore, 82, died July 7, 2011, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Belgian Congo, Africa, the son of Frederick and Mildred Yost Whitermore. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He had served as a missionary in Trinidad West Indies. He had been a Pastor in Liberal and Pennsylvania. He served as the Chicago Area Mennonite Coordinator, Executive Director of Church Federation of Chicago, on the Hopi Mission School Foundation and as a Church Planter for the General Conference and planted a church in Olathe. He retired in Phoenix as an Interim Pastor.
On March 14, 1976, he married Debra Suderman. She survives of Wichita. Other survivors include: two sons, David J. of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mark (Beth), Whitehall, Pa.; a daughter, Martha (Dennis) Dillon, Lancaster, Pa.; a sister, Helen Carlin, Glendale, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, Donald and Gordon.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the Hopi Mission School in care of Buhler Mortuary, 120 N. Main, Buhler, KS 67522.

BERNE -- Mattie Wickey, 97, of Berne, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in Berne.
She was born Dec. 9, 1913, in Alpena, Mich. She was a member of the Old Order Amish. She married Noah D. Wickey on Dec. 21, 1933, in Adams County.
Surviving are son David N. Wickey of Berne; daughters Maryann L. (Joe) Hilty of Monroe, Christine (Mose E.) Schmidt of Salem, Josephine Schwartz of Milroy, and Mattie (Jake B.) Schwartz and Mandy (Jonas) Schwartz, both of Berne; brothers Levi H. Schwartz of Monroe and Menno H. Schwartz; daughter-in-law Katie Schwartz of Monroe; 70 grandchildren; 387 great-grandchildren; 95 great-great-grandchildren; and niece Delilah Miller of Middlebury, along with other nieces and nephews from Middlebury.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son Martin N. Wickey; daughter Salome Eicher; brothers Henry H., William H. and Amos H. Schwartz; sisters Sarah H., Emma H. and Mandy H. Schwartz; one daughter-in-law; two sons-in-law; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Dr. James Glen Widmer

WAYLAND, Iowa - Dr. James Glen Widmer, 93, left his earthly body on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant, after battling cancer.
Glen was born Feb. 26, 1918, near Wayland, Iowa, to Christian G. and Elisabeth (Rediger) Widmer.
He married Helen Yoder on June 6, 1943, at Wayland. Throughout their 68 years together they strived to live lives of love and service to family, community, church, and God.
He was an active member of Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, having accepted Christ as his personal savior in December 1932.
He attended the rural Douglas School, Wayland High School, and Goshen College, Ind. He graduated from the University of Iowa medical school in September 1944 and then served in the U.S. Public Health Service until after the end of World War II.
In 1946, he opened a general medical practice at Wayland, where he cared for the community until 1992.
He was also an active volunteer. He was a member of Gideons International for 37 years, holding state office for nine years. He served as secretary of the Mennonite Medical Association. He helped establish and was president of the Wayland Mennonite Home Association which sponsors Parkview Home. He was president of the founding board of the Henry County Community Mental Health Association. He helped found Wayland Mobile Meals and Crooked Creek Christian Camp. He was a charter member of the Wayland Lions Club and served as president. He served on the board of Wayland State Bank for many years, including a term as chairman. A promoter of good education, he served on the boards of the Wayland school and Hesston College, Ks., and on the Mennonite Board of Education.
Upon retirement, Glen and Helen continued to reside in Wayland and to volunteer in many ways. He enjoyed gardening, reading, picking out nuts and visiting with friends and family. He passed on to his children his love of local and family history and the world of nature. He traveled near and far, to see new places as well as to help those in need.
He is survived by his wife Helen and six children: Gwen Widmer and husband Patrick Clancy, Kansas City, Mo.; Theodore Widmer and wife Linda Widmer, Mt. Pleasant; Jane Widmer Yoder and husband Frank Yoder, Kalona; Jean Clark and husband Dan Clark, Muscatine; James Widmer and wife Alice Widmer, Mt. Pleasant; and Janice Hadley, Valparaiso, Ind. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Reuben and Daniel; and a former exchange student and family member Madjid Nader and wife Shirin and two sons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry and Paul; four sisters, Katie Roth, Esther Widmer, Mary Wenger, and Frieda Freyenberger; an infant son and infant twin grandsons.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church with visitation Friday, Aug. 12, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. at the church. ELKHART -- Ruth Schmidt Peters Wiebe, 89, passed away July 3, 2011, in Elkhart.
She was born Feb. 19, 1922, to David and Mary Ensz Schmidt at Bethany Deaconess Hospital in American Falls, Idaho.
Ruth grew up on the family farm near Aberdeen, Idaho. She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1940. She was baptized and joined First Mennonite Church in Aberdeen on May 16, 1937. She was a faithful member of the church and was active in King's Daughters and Ladies Mission Society. She also served as a girls' mission society leader.
Upon graduating from high school, she had planned to enter nurse training. However, students weren't accepted into the program right after high school. Therefore, she worked as a nurse's aide and cook at Shultz Memorial Hospital in American Falls. Her plans to become a nurse changed when she married Ernest Peters on May 23, 1943. He was serving in the U.S. Army as a medic. She felt privileged to be able to spend a few months with him in Maine and Mississippi, where he was stationed.
To this marriage a daughter, Marianne Ruth, was born. Six months later, Ernest was deployed to Europe. In April 1945, he was killed in a truck accident in Germany, just weeks before the war ended, leaving Ruth widowed with a baby daughter.
For the next six years, Ruth enjoyed working in Dr. Frank Harms' office in Aberdeen.
On June 13, 1951, Ruth was married to Henry E. Wiebe, who was the best man at her first wedding. To this marriage, two children were born, Gordon Wayne and Dorothy Lucille. While the children were young, she was a stay-at-home mom.
Later, Ruth was employed at the University of Idaho Agricultural Research and Extention Station in Aberdeen. She worked there for 11 years until her mother's health required that Ruth remain at home to be her caregiver.
As a loving mother and wife, Ruth provided for her family by gardening, canning and freezing produce and sewing clothing for her children and for herself. Her hobbies included quilting, crafting and building outdoor furniture to be enjoyed by the family.
Following retirement, Ruth and Henry enjoyed traveling and visiting their children. Especially memorable was a trip to Berlin, West Germany, to visit Dorothy, who was working there with MCC. They were also able to visit other European countries at that time.
Ruth and Henry sold their Aberdeen home in 1990 and moved to Kidron-Bethel Village, a retirement center, in North Newton, Kan., where they became members of First Mennonite Church. They enjoyed life, making new friends and participating in community and church activities. She served as a volunteer in various capacities at Kidron-Bethel.
As Henry's health began to fail due to Parkinson's disease, Ruth devoted herself to caring for him. Even after he moved to Kidron-Bethel Healthcare she faithfully spent each day with him. Henry passed away on Sept. 5, 2003.
While Ruth was still healthy, she was able to enjoy trips to Texas, Oregon and Indiana to visit her children. She also enjoyed a cruise to Alaska with her daughter, Marianne.
Ruth was able to live by herself until she suffered a stroke in April 2009. Because of the effects this had on her, she moved to an assisted living apartment at Kidron-Bethel. She remained there for several months until she moved to Elkhart to be closer to her daughter, Dorothy. She lived in assisted living at Hubbard Hill Estates for 10 months before transferring to Hoosier Home Care to receive increased nursing care. This residence is a small group home for the elderly which provided a peaceful and loving environment for the last 10 months of her life. She passed away following a brief illness.
Survivors include three children, Marianne (Curtis) Harper of Richland Hills, Texas, Gordon (Marva) Wiebe of Hillsboro, Ore., and Dorothy (Steve) Wiebe-Johnson of Elkhart; and four grandchildren, Adrienne Harper, Dana Harper, Julian Wiebe-Johnson and Michael Wiebe.
She was preceded in death by the late Henry E. Wiebe and the late Ernest Peters, her parents, sister Esther Schritter and an infant sister, Evangeline.
A memorial service was Monday, July 11, 2011, at First Mennonite Church in Newton, Kan. Pastor Anita Kehr presided. Private burial took place in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

Ella B. Wise, 94, of Womelsdorf, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 at her home. She was born in Earl Township, Lancaster County to the late Christian S. and Martha N. (Brendle) Kurtz. Ella was the wife of the late Raymond G. Wise who passed in 1992.
She was a member of Martins Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference. Ella followed the instructions which are found in Titus Chapter 2, of being a true "keeper at home".
She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Wise, with whom she resided; six sons, Marvin R. husband of Miriam H. Wise; Edwin K. husband of Ida W. Wise; Lloyd K. husband of Esther Z. Wise; Raymond K. husband of Mabel B. Wise; Jay Paul husband of Anna S. Wise; Walter K. husband of Etta H. Wise; 47 grandchildren; 233 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons.
Ella was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30th at the immediate home followed by services at Martins Mennonite Church, 765 Church Road, Womelsdorf at 9:30 AM with Bishops Leonard Brubaker and Paul Nolt, Jr. and ministers Wilmer G. Hurst and James W. Oberholtzer officiating. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Clauser Funeral Home, Inc. is handling her arrangements.

Eugene was a member of the Reinholds United Zion Church. He was a mason as well as a salesman for Nolt's Auto Parts. He enjoyed spending time his family, was a car enthusiast, and also enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his wife, Eugene is survived by his three children, Darrel husband of Brenda (Bowman) Witmer of Denver, Brian husband of Irene (Martin) Witmer of Ephrata, Karen wife of Jim Huber of Akron; four grandchildren; and a sister in law, Esther (Boll) Witmer.
Eugene was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruth Ann, and a brother, Lester Witmer.

Paul was a farmer and a poultry and egg distributor for more than 15 years. He enjoyed working with and attending Hit & Miss engine shows. He was a member of Central Mennonite Church near Archbold, and the Maumee Valley Model T Club.

TOPEKA -- Amelia E. Yoder, 89, of Topeka, died at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Middlebury to Ezra and Susie (Lehman) Bontrager. On Dec. 9, 1943, in Middlebury, she married Levi E. Yoder. He died in1997.
Surviving are children Mary (Calvin) Weaver and Ada (Orva) Miller, both of Shipshewana, Sue (Vernon) Schrock of Middlebury, Wilma (Steve) Kauffman and Esther (Albert) Miller, both of Topeka, LeAnna (Glen) Nisley and Alma (Dewayne) Miller, both of Goshen, Ruby (Orva) Borntrager and Erma (Orla) Yoder, both of Millersburg, and Ezra (Mary Ellen) and Freeman (Lydia Sue) Yoder, both of Shipshewana; 75 grandchildren; 169 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings Ella (Mel) Nisley of Goshen, Levi (Ada) and Sam (Ada) Bontrager, both of Middlebury, and Andy (Edna) Bontrager of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by four grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.

MONTGOMERY - Benjamin Yoder, 81, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at his residence. Born Feb. 1, 1930, in Daviess County, he was the son of John L. and Mattie (Wagler) Yoder. He was a member of the Tourist Mennonite Church in Sarasota, Fla., and attended Berea Mennonite Church in Cannelburg.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (Stoll) Yoder, whom he married April 18, 1949; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline and Larry Coldiron of Akron, Ohio, Marilyn and Firman Troyer of Inverness, Fla., and Sharon and Ed Miller of Sugarcreek, Ohio; five sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Shirley Yoder of Montgomery, Dwight and Beverly Yoder of Washington, John G. and Joy Yoder of Sarasota, Fla., Gary and Shannon Yoder and Mark and Carmen Yoder, all of Montgomery; one brother, William Yoder of Odon; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ida Mae and Dave Wagler of Mayslick, Ky., and Sarah McGuire of Montgomery; one brother-in-law, Jonas Schrock of Elnora; one sister-in-law, Lydia Yoder of Washington; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

GOSHEN -- Carlton Eugene Yoder, 73, of C.R. 17, Goshen, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 20, 1937, in Elkhart County to Paul E. and Ruth (Burkholder) Yoder. He married Janice (Stahley) Yoder on Dec. 7, 1958, and she survives.
Also surviving are daughter Lynette (Richard) Singleton of Goshen; sons Bryan, Nate and Todd Yoder, all of Goshen; brother Marvin (Rachel) Yoder of Goshen; and five grandchildren.
He was a 1955 graduate of Wakarusa High School, a member of Olive Mennonite Church and retired as a dairy nutrition consultant.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 2, 2011, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Yoder, Carlton Eugene, 73, of Goshen, IN died May 31, 2011 at the same place from accidental drowning. He was born October 20, 1937 in Elkhart Co., IN to Paul and Ruth (Burkholder) Yoder. On December 7, 1958 he was married to Janice Stahley, who survives.
Surviving are children, Bryan, Nate, Todd, and Lynnette (Richard) Singleton, five grandchildren, and a brother, Marvin (Rachel) Yoder.

BLOOMFIELD: Catherine Arlene Yoder, 25, of Bloomfield, Iowa died September 26, 2011 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born July 31, 1986 in Kokomo, Indiana to Paul and Sarah Kauffman Otto. She married David Yoder July 31, 2010 in Kokomo, Indiana. Catherine attended Kokomo, Indiana Public Schools and was employed at Davis County Hospital Home and Community Health as a Home Care Aide. She was a member of the Pulaski Mennonite Church in rural Pulaski, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband, David Yoder; an infant son, Kevin Jay Yoder; her parents, Paul and Sarah Otto of rural Kokomo, Indiana; two sisters, Charlene Otto of rural Kokomo, Indiana, Elizabeth Otto of Arthur, Illinois; and two brothers, Chester Otto of LaGrange, Indiana and Carl Otto of rural Kokomo, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Pulaski Mennonite Church with Pastor Darrell Zook officiating. Burial will be at the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski, Iowa. She was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Yoder, Kan., to Clarence and Mary (Mullet) Miller. On Dec. 18, 1947, in Kalona, Iowa, she married Jonathan A. Yoder. He died May 10, 2001.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Fern Webster of Weld, Maine; four sons, Jerry (Rosemary) Yoder of Wolcottville, Daniel (Sue) Yoder of Topeka, Jonnie (Betty) Yoder of Mountain Grove, Mo., and Raymond (Marlene) Yoder of Millersburg; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. GOSHEN - Dean Jay Yoder, 37, of Goshen, died at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at his residence. His death was unexpected even though he suffered from a seizure disorder.
He was born Dec. 8, 1974, in Goshen, to Stanley E. and Mary Etta (Chupp) Yoder.
Surviving are his parents; sister Lora (Maynard) Beechy of Millersburg; brother Mark (Lori) Yoder of Goshen; and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Linda Sue Yoder.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and had worked at the Das Dutchman Essenhaus Restaurant for 11 years.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the family residence, 62495 C.R. 43, Goshen. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Noah Bontrager residence, 62800 C.R. 43, Goshen. Services will be conducted by Bishop Floyd Chupp and the home ministers. GOSHEN -- Edith King Yoder, 93, died Thursday morning, July 28, 2011, in her home at Greencroft Goshen.
She was born April 11, 1918 in Chicago to Frank D. and Laura C. King and grew up near the University of Chicago. After graduating from Hyde Park High School, the College of Wooster and Goshen College, she much enjoyed working several years at Illinois Bell Telephone Company in the customer service department.
On Sept. 14, 1946, she married C. Richard Yoder, a pediatrician from Ohio, whom she had first met at Goshen College and who was completing his pediatric residency at the University of Chicago.
Together, they moved three times before settling in Elkhart, where they established a medical practice. They raised three children, enjoying 44 years of marriage before his death in September 2000.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas of Chicago and William and daughter-in-law Ashley Montague of Raleigh, N.C.; one daughter, Susan Yoder, and son-in-law Jonathan Wills of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and her companion in recent years, Lyle Yost of Hesston, Kan.
Edith was an active volunteer involved over the years with numerous groups, including the AAUW, the Elkhart Hospital Auxiliary, Planned Parenthood of Elkhart County, the Oakland Psychiatric Center, Riverside Club and Elkhart Public Schools. She served as a board member at the Elkhart YMCA and Greencroft Goshen and as an elder of First Presbyterian Church of Elkhart.
Edith was a bright, energetic and cheerful wife, mother and friend who loved playing piano, attending musical and theater productions, traveling at home and abroad, playing bridge and dominoes, and the joys of friends and family. Her wonderful sense of humor was well-known.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the College Mennonite Church in Goshen. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to College Mennonite Church, First Presbyterian Church of Elkhart or Planned Parenthood of Indiana.

He joined Civilian Public Service in June 1945 at the age of 18 and served in Terry Montana untill they closed at end of WW II. He did a lot of work for MDS through the years with the latest, spending a month in August 2009 in Dulzura, CA with his wife as caretakers for an MDS campsite there.

MILLERSBURG — Emma J. Yoder, 75, of Millersburg, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011.
She was born May 28, 1936, to John and Mary Ann (Burkholder) Mast. On Dec. 6, 1956, she married Walter Lehman. He died Aug. 25, 1994. On June 8, 1997, she married Lewis Yoder. He died May 31, 2001.
Surviving are children Mary Ann (Herman) Stutzman of Plymouth, Barbara Kae (LaVern) Bontrager and Ora (Rosemary) Lehman, both of Millersburg, and Floyd (Lisa) Lehman of Goshen; stepchildren Anna Laura (Bert) Miller of Bremen, Linda (Dave) Troyer of Topeka, Dorothy (Richard) Slabaugh of Nappanee, Mel (Rae Ann) Yoder and Syl (Ella) Yoder, both of Arizona, and Orlin (Betty), Wilson (Rosetta) and Morris (Carolyn) Yoder, all of Nappanee; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 40 stepgrandchildren; and 56 stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Milford to Susie (Mast) and Daniel Yoder. He married Frances M. (Chupp) Yoder on April 21, 1957.
Surviving are his wife; daughters Susan (Ronald) Pletcher of Goshen, Sandra (Ernie) Koop of Corn, Okla., and Sharon (Conrad) Sollenberger of Shippensburg, Pa.; son Myron (Pam) Yoder of Tuttle, Okla.; sisters Lydia Ann Yoder of Nappanee, Amelia Laughman of Chambersburg, Pa., and Wilma (Edward) Stutzman of Nappanee; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A sister, Ruby Parker, preceded him in death.
Freeman was a member of Salem Mennonite Church for 54 years and chorister for 30 years. He was a tax preparer for 29 years and worked at Stow Davis for 18 years.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service Saturday at Salem Mennonite Church, New Paris. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 13, 1958 at Elkhart, to Emmon and MaryAnna (Nisley) Yoder.
He was married to Doris Hershberger on Dec. 12, 1981.
She survives, with a daughter, Kelly Yoder, Plymouth; and son, Spenser Yoder, Plymouth; his mother, MaryAnna Yoder, Etna Green; two brothers, Philip (Kathy) Yoder, Goshen, Freeman (Deborah) Yoder, Goshen; and three sisters, Bertha (David) Miller, Etna Green, Esther Cochenour, Etna Green, and Dorothy (Tim) Schwartz, New Paris.
He was preceded in death by a son, Trevor Lavon Yoder, and his father, Emmon Yoder.
He was employed at Forrest River, Sabre plant, Goshen, in the cabinet shop.
Yoder was a member of North Liberty Mennonite Church, serving on the Board of Elders since 2006, was a current youth leader and also served as chairman of the board of United Christian Missions in Belize.
Friends may call Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 25402 C.R. 50, Nappanee.
The funeral is set at 10 a.m. Monday at Nappanee Missionary Church with the Rev. Ray Stutzman, the Rev. Gilbert Miller and the Rev. Noah Knepp Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Nappanee.

He was born Aug. 14, 1954, in Goshen, to Elva (Miller) and the late Andrew Yoder. On Jan. 30, 1975, he married Clara E. Schmucker. She survives.

On November 3, 1979 at Pigeon, MI he was married to Patricia Shetler, who was born January 27, 1956 and survives.
Surviving are a daughter, Shari (Chad) Craig, a son, Michael, and one grandchild.

TOPEKA -- Mildred (Brenneman) Yoder, 81, of Topeka, died at 1:28 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born March 1, 1930, in LaGrange County to George J. and Savilla (Lengacher) Brenneman. On Jan. 14, 1954, she married Roman Stutzman. He died Dec. 6, 1990. She married Cornelius Yoder on Aug. 1, 1993. He died Oct. 3, 2000.
Surviving are sister-in-law Catherine Brenneman and niece Shirley (Calvin) Bontrager, both of Dowagiac, Mich; nephew Bob (Rachel) Brenneman of Goshen; stepsons Elva (Ruby) Yoder and Perry (Velma) Yoder, both of Topeka; stepdaughters Amelia (William) Eash of Topeka and Elsie (Eli) Stutzman of Goshen; 21 stepgrandchildren; and 58 stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents; stepson Daniel Yoder; and brothers Floyd and John Brenneman.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

WAKARUSA — Norman E. Yoder, 69, of 65287 C.R. 3, Wakarusa, went to be with his Lord at 12:20 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
He was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Centreville, Mich., to Mahlon D. and Mary J. (Yoder) Yoder. He married Irene Mast on Oct. 22, 1964, at Fairview Amish Mennonite Church.
She survives; along with a daughter, Lesa Yoder of North Liberty; and a son, Larry “Toby” (Sharon) Yoder of Nappanee; and three precious granddaughters, Katelyn, Jackie and Alexis. He loved to ride bikes and play games with his grandkids.
Also surviving are two sisters, Martha (Mose Jr.) Coblentz and Laura (Maynard) Hochstetler, both of Middlebury; and six brothers, Kenneth (Lydia Mae) Yoder, Alvin (Esther) Yoder and Fred (Becky) Yoder, all of Sarasota, Fla., Marvin (Linda) Yoder of Dade City, Fla., David (Wanda) Yoder of Union, Mich., and Doug (Marlene) Yoder of Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mahlon and Mary; a brother, Vernon Yoder; and sister-in-law Carolyn Yoder.
Norman worked in various trailer factories and, for 24 years, he was a salesman for Heckaman Homes. He was a Gideon and loved to pass out Bibles! Mr. Yoder was involved with the Westville prison ministry and a grader for Gospel Echoes. He was an active member of North Liberty Mennonite Church.

Yoder, Wilma Cordelle Brenneman, 96, died April 20, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. She was born August 24, 1919 near Wellman, Iowa to Erlis and Martha (Marner) Brenneman. On July 6, 1941 she was united in marriage to Pete M. Yoder at the Abner Yoder residence near Wellman. They moved to Wisconsin in 1954 and returned to Wellman in 1969. She was a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church, the church sewing circle, an active supporter of Mennonite Disaster Services and the prison ministry.
Wilma is survived by three children - Mary Wenman (Dick) of Iowa City, IA; Marvin Yoder (Alice) of Wellman, IA; Donna Kasper (Scott) of Riverside, IA; six grandchildren - Karen Rogers (Brook); Missy Yoder; Travis Yoder, Nick Donnan, Nicole (Shaun) Lewis, Jenny Kasper; eight great grandchildren; four sisters -Iona Swartzendruber of Kalona, IA; Leta Mae Schneider of Kalona, IA; Arlene Snyder of Kalona, IA; Lucine Morrison of West Branch, IA; and two brothers - Dayle Brenneman of Upland, CA; and Merle Brenneman of Janesville, WI.

Her busy and full life kept her young beyond her years. Mission work, her church, teaching, traveling, volunteer work, family and family get-togethers were the highlights of her life. Missions, mostly teaching assignments, broadened her travels in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and China. She introduced the folks at Parkesburg Mennonite Church to medical Missions in the Dominican Republic at the age of 75. In 1952, while at the Mennonite World Conference, she attended a work camp in Switzerland helping build houses under the direction of the Mennonite Central Committee. Sadie, as a member of Parkesburg Mennonite Church, has faithfully attended there since 1938 starting with its very first service on a Sunday afternoon in the Owens Building in Parkesburg. She taught Sunday School for 73 years at Parkesburg.
She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by three brothers: Ray, R. John and Harlan Yost and also 3 nephews.
There will be no viewing or graveside service due to Sadie’s desire to have her body donated to science. A memorial service will take place June 23, 2011 at the Landis Homes West Bethany Chapel, Lititz, PA with Pastor David Gehman officiating.

Vernon was born March 2, 1934, and was the son of the late Vernon and Verna Schrock Zehr. He was married for 54 years to Freda Wert Zehr, who survives him.
Vernon graduated from Eastern Mennonite Seminary in 1958 and the University of Delaware with a master's degree in elementary and special education in 1969. He served as pastor of the First Mennonite Church of Wilmington and was a teacher and principal at Richardson Park Elementary School. Vernon served on the board of the Sunday Breakfast Mission for homeless men in Wilmington, Del., for 30 years and worked as a counselor at the mission.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his four children, Jay Zehr (Vaunda) of Harrisonburg, Kathleen Zehr Nussbaum (Phil) of Richmond, Vernon Jon Zehr of Wilmington, Del., and Andrea Zehr Meredith (Benjamin) of Harrisonburg. He leaves five grandsons, Nevin Zehr, Zachary and Jacob Nussbaum, and Dax and Cade Meredith. Also surviving are siblings, Robert Zehr, Angeline Solway, Phyllis Ezard, Violet Swartzentruber, Edith Gehman, Joyce Maust, Alma Bergy and Esther Clemens.
The funeral service will be Thursday, viewing at 1 p.m. with service at 2 p.m. at the Greenwood Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Greenwood Mennonite Church in Greenwood, Del.

Zeiset, Annie Martin Wenger, 87, of 218 Fetterville Road, East Earl, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at her home. Born in Voganville, she was the daughter of the late Walter Z. and Lizzie B. (Martin) Wenger. Her husband, Phares M. Zeiset, died Oct. 9, 1996. Annie was a homemaker and a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
Surviving are 15 children, Lizzie W., married to John W. She will be greatly missed by her children, Mary Kathryn Weaver, Harlan, married to Vera (Martin) Zimmerman, Esther May, married to Ron Fox, Mervin, married to Pearl (Heilinger) Zimmerman, Harry, married to Debbie (Boyce) Zimmerman, and Ada Naomi, married to John Shirk; a daughter-in-law, Anna Mary (Nolt) Zimmerman; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She left a legacy by her shining examples of devotion to her Lord, family, and day-care children. Her counted cross stitch needlework was shown in the National Needlework Exhibition in Alexandria, VA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 1, at 11 am at Fairmount Homes, Wheat Ridge Chapel, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, with Pastor Eugene Weaver and Chaplain Paul Gehman officiating. WAKARUSA - Amanda M. Zimmerman, 15, of 27299 C.R. 40, Wakarusa, died at noon Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at South Bend Memorial Hospital, resulting from injuries from a bicycle accident on C.R. 40 and C.R. 7 near her home.
She was born Jan. 3, 1996, in Wakarusa to Jonas M. and Mary Ellen Martin Zimmerman.
They survive, along with siblings Glenn, Sheldon, Kathleen, Lucile and Emily Zimmerman, all at home; and grandmothers Erma Martin of Wakarusa and Wilma S. Zimmerman of Wakarusa.
She was preceded in death by grandfathers Walter Martin and Jonas R. Zimmerman.
The family attended Yellow Creek Old Order Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the family home. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Yellow Creek Old Order Mennonite Church. He was a student at McBeath Mennonite School.
In addition to his parents, survivors include three sisters, Beverly, Barbara and Rebekah Zimmerman, all of Dunnville; three brothers, Jacob, Titus and Levi Zimmerman, all of Dunnville; and his grandparents, Eli and Sarah Zimmerman of Dunnville and Paul and Ruth Martin of Liberty.

Zimmerman, John D., 67, of 946 West Quarry Rd., New Holland, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Ina (Martin) Zimmerman and the late Martha B. (Reiff) Zimmerman. Born in East Earl, he was the son of the late John D. and Esther (Nolt) Zimmerman. John was a farmer and a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

John David was born in the Town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania on January 12, 1958, the son of the late Ivan Nolt and Esther Burkholder Zimmerman. He had resided in Romulus since 1979, moving from Pennsylvania. He, and his family, owned and operated Zimmerman Dairy Farm on Route 414, Romulus. He, also, served as a minister in the Waterloo Mennonite Church, Waterloo.

Leon was born on Sept. 15, 2011, in Fort Wayne to Eli M. and Ruth Z. (Fox) Zimmerman.
Surviving besides his parents are, his brothers and sisters, Jonathan, Jay L., Wilma, Melvin, Eugene, and Grace A. Zimmerman, all of Rochester; paternal grandmother, Wilma Zimmerman, Goshen; maternal grandparents, Weaver and Alma Fox, Lancaster, Penn.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jonas R. Zimmerman.

Born in East Cocalico Township, he was the son of Paul and Lena Z. (Burkholder) Zimmerman and was the husband of Lynette E. (Nolt) Zimmerman. They had been married 29 years.
He was a member of Cocalico Mennonite Church and had worked as a mechanic for Deer Country Farm & Lawn for 22 years.
In addition to his wife and parents, Nelson is survived by his four children: David E., husband of Rhonda F. (Weaver) Zimmerman of Reading; Lisa M., wife of Burnell L. Martin of Myerstown; Janeen A., wife of Darvin L. Martin of Myerstown; and Jordan K. Zimmerman, at home; and four grandchildren: Trace L. Zimmerman, Aubrie H. Zimmerman, Kowan L. Martin, and Drayen C. Martin. He is also survived by his siblings: Irene B., wife of Delmar M. Stauffer of Myerstown; Minerva B., wife of K. Timothy Nolt of Denver, Ruth Elaine, wife of Roy W. Paul worked for New Holland Machine Co., until he moved to Hershey and worked at the Milton Hershey School for 53 years as a welder - mechanic fabricator in structural trades as well as a sub-house father. Paul was President of Goodville Hunting Club, a member of AARP Travel Club, M.H.S. Alumni Assoc., and Chaplain of Travel Timer Camping Club.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church, Goshen. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery, Goshen.

Surviving are children, John L. Zook and wife Anna M., of Belleville, PA; David P. Zook and wife Arlene M., of Belleville, PA; Timothy S. Zook and wife Barbara E., of Mifflinburg, PA; Lavina R. Yoder and husband Edwin, of Mifflinburg, PA; Chester M. Zook and wife Julia, of Milroy, PA; Martha J. Sharp and husband Joseph, of Belleville, N.Y. and Sarah A. Peachey and husband Jonathan, of Belleville, PA; 35 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Elsie Swarey, Katie Zook and husband Ben, Rachel Walters, Sylvia Yoder, Rhoda Kauffman and husband Steven, Kore Peachey and wife Madonna, Jonas Peachey and wife Karen and Paul Peachey and wife Joann and sisters-in-law, Linda Peachey and Mary Peachey.
She was preceded in death by her husband David and three brothers, Henry, Louie
and Shem Peachey and two brother-in-laws, John Swarey and Jacob Yoder.
A funeral service was March 19, 2011, at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, with ministers Sylvan Yoder, Ray Miller and David J. Peachey officiating. Burial was at Locust Grove Cemetery Belleville, PA.
