Smoker, Leroy D., 76 of Greenwood, DE, died Febuary 22,
2009. He was born on April 22, 1932, in Lancaster Co., PA, to Daniel
Menno Smoker and Sadie M. (Smoker) Smoker. In 1964, he married
Lois E. Hess of Elizabethtown, PA. They resided in Pennsylvania and
Mississippi before moving to Delaware in 1974.
He was a member of the Greenwood Mennonite Church.
Survived by his wife and two sons, Darryl, of Bridgeville, DE, and
David and wife Laura of Greenwood, PA; three daughters, Lisa, and
husband Verlin Martin of Wellman, IA, Darlene and husband David Struve
of Mardela Springs, MD, and Loretta Smoker of Wellman, IA; three
brothers, Vernon Smoker and wife Ada Nancy of Lititz, PA, Dale Smoker
and wife Ruth Anna of Gordonville, PA, and Don Smoker of Phoenix, AZ;
four sisters, Viola Smoker of Glendale, AZ, Miriam Byler of Montrose,
CO, Sara, wife of Herman Stoltzfus, Cochranville, PA, and Ann, wife of
Henry Foreman, Watsontown, PA; and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral service was Febuary 27, 2009 at the Greenwood Mennonite
Church. Burial was in Greenwood Mennonite Cemetery, Greenwood, DE.

Smucker, P. Mark, 62, of Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN died
September 16, 2009 at the same place from leukemia. He was born
August 10, 1947 at Wooster, OH to Paul and Ella Pearl Smucker. On
June 3, 1972 he was married to Jeanne Marie Rhoades), who was born
February 26, 1945 and survives.
Surviving are children, Bethany (Joshua) Martin; Jose Miguel Smucker;
Rachel (Jay) Argabrite; and Jabar (Naomi) Smucker; 3 grandchildren, and
3 brothers, Ralph (Cissy) Smucker; Alvin (Betty) Smucker; and Don
(Jane) Smucker.
A brother, Lynn Smucker (surviving spouse Dorothy) preceded him in
death.

Snader, Esther M. Martin, 80, of 366 Weaverland Valley Rd., East
Earl, went to be with her Savior on Friday, July 17, 2009 at her home
surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years,
Isaac C. Snader.
Born in Blue Ball, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Mary
(Rutt) Martin.
Esther was a homemaker and had also worked at Yoder's Restaurant as a
banquet waitress for nearly 20 years.
She was a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church where she used her
love and gift of service to others as a member of the kitchen committee
for many years. Additionally, she enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and
bowling.
In addition to her husband, Esther is survived by five children: Eugene
married to Audrey (Martin) Snader, East Earl; Clifford married to Donna
(Weaver) Snader, East Earl; Gary married to Melinda (Seger) Snader, New
Holland; Jeffrey married to Gwenda (Martin) Snader, East Earl; Barbara
Snader, East Earl and friend Rusty Matthews; 13 grandchildren; a
brother Wilmer married to Gladys Martin, East Earl; three sisters:
Irene widow of Hoover Weaver, Ephrata; Mary married to
James Martin, East Earl; Ruth Ann married to William Martin, East Earl;
a step-sister Henrietta married to John Shertzer, Lancaster; and a
sister-in-law, Ruth Ann married to Mervin Hurst, Bowmansville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Willis and Carl I. Martin,
and a grandson, Shane Ryan Snader.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Lancaster County for their kind
and compassionate care for Esther and their family during the past
several weeks.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 10 AM at the
Weaverland Mennonite Church, 210 Weaverland Valley Rd., East Earl with
Pastor Leon R. Hurst and Bishop C. Kenneth Martin officiating.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be
held at the church on Monday (TONIGHT) from 6 to 8 PM and on Tuesday
from 9 to 10 AM.

Snavely, Raymond N., 85, of Manheim, PA died June 26, 2009. Born
in Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., PA to John G. and Lizzie Newcomer
Snavely. He was the husband of M. Arlene Witmer Snavely and they
observed their 63rd wedding anniversary in October 2008.
He was a member of Hernley Mennonite Church, Manheim, PA. A lifelong
farmer, Raymond was the fourth generation from his family to own and
operate the family farm in Rapho Twp. Lancaster Co., PA; that continues
today within the Snavely family.
Survived by his wife and three sons: James R. husband of Martha Mast
Snavely of Harrisonburg, VA; Jerry L. husband of Janice Nauman Snavely
and Joseph W. husband of Beulah Horst Snavely all of Manheim, PA; a
daughter, Janice L. Snavely of Harrisburg, PA; nine grandchildren, six
great grandchildren, and a sister, Rachel wife of Paul V. Nissley of
Holtwood, PA.
Funeral service was July 1, 2009 at the Hernley Mennonite Church,
Interment was in the Hernley Mennonite cemetery Manheim, PA.

Snider, Wilson Solomon, 88, of Alanson, MI died August 24, 2009
at Harbor Springs, MI from kidney failure. He was born March 15,
1921 at Brutus, Michigan to David and Lizzie (Brubacher) Snider.
On November 29, 1947 at Brutus, MI he was married to Barbara Susan
Gregory, who was born June 25, 1925 and survives.
Surviving are children, Wesley (Dixie), Jacob, Audrey Yell (Dan), Sara
(Kevin), 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 5
great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Ernest Snider (Lois), and a
sister, Ruth Burkhart.
Two brothers, Edwin Snider, and Vernon Snider and a grandson, Clayton
Yell preceded him in death.
Wilson served in CPS during WWII. He loved local history and was a
source of much information for writers on that subject.
Memorial services were held August 27, 2009 at Maple River Mennonite
Church, Brutus, MI with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Snyder, Donald F.
Donald F. Snyder was born on
April 11, 1920 in Wellsboro, PA. At age six onths, he was adopted
by Tom and Margaret (Knoll) Snyder and lived in Wellsboro until he
graduated from high school in 1938. In the Spring of 1942, Donald
accepted Jesus Christ as savior and was baptized in the Methodist
church. In December 1942, Don enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force
and served his country well until his honorable discharge in May
1946.
In 1947, Don married Lillian Butler in Lincoln, Nebraska. In
1950, Don and Lillian moved to Goshen and established Snyder's Studio,
where he introduced the concept of photo wedding albums to Elkhart
County. He was a popular wedding photographer for twenty
years. After Lillian's death in 1970, Don sold the business and
began working at GTE.
In 1971, he met Annabelle Christophel at Crist Dry Cleaners in Goshen.
Their first date was attending the dedication of the new building
addition at Yellowcreek Mennonite church. Don continued to
see Annabelle, began attending Yellow Creek Mennonite Church with her
and transferred his membership to Yellow Creek a month before he and
Annabelle were married. Don and Annabelle were joined in holy
matrimony by Pastor Mahlon Miller on April 17, 1971 at Yellow Creek
Mennonite Church.
After his marriage to Annabelle, Don worked for GTE for 14 years before
retiring. During retirement, Don and Annabelle traveled
extensively and Don learned to know Annabelle's family. In his
later years, Don volunteered at Goshen Hospital and Greencroft and
served as a Sunday school class officer. Don enjoyed walking,
reading his Bible with Annabelle, spending holidays with Annabelle's
family, and participating in Sunday school class activities.
On Friday morning June 5, 2009 at 10:44 am, Don died at Goshen Hospital
surrounded by his wife and several family members. Don had
been ill and in Greencroft Healthcare for five months. Don was
preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Lillian Butler, and
his sister, Edith Stone.
Don is survived by his wife of 38 years, Annabelle, two nieces, Gerry
Woods and Loretta Lovell of Pennsylvania, as well as the Carpenter and
Christophel nephews and nieces he grew to love in Annabelle's family.
Don will be especially remembered by all of those couples who were
photographed by Don at their weddings, for his beaming smile, his
faithful attendance and support of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church
ministries and his dedication to his wife Annabelle.
Don is finally at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Praise the Lord!

Snyder, Lester Edison, 93, of Orrville, Wayne Co., OH died there
on March 13, 2009 after a period of declining health. He was born
March 22, 1915 at Orrville to Orville and Ellen (Hartzler)
Snyder. On September 13, 1941 he was married to Nellie Jane
Herman, who was born January 16, 1916 and died November 20, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Randall (Ann Diller) Snyder and a daughter, Jane
(Doug) Vendrely, and 2 grandchildren.
Two brothers, Harold Snyder, and Floyd Snyder, and three sisters, Marie
Shie, Louise Almstedt, and Hazel Corvan preceded him in death.

Snyder, M. Grant, 57, of St. Jacobs, Ontario, Canada died
November 26, 2009 at Kitchener, Ontario, Canada from cancer.
He was born September 28, 1952 at Kitchener to Melvin and Norine
Scheerer Snyder. Melvin was born March 30, 1927 and died March 7,
2005. Norine was born April 29, 1927 and survives.
He was married to Pam Schlitt.
Surviving are two daughters, Amanda Snyder (Anderson Araujo) and Emily
Snyder (Brock Roe) and his siblings: Larry (Gloria) Snyder; Gerry
(Wendy) Snyder; Maynard (Sharon) Snyder; Joyce (Raymond) Pardoe;

Stalter, Kathryn L. Mumaw, 88, of Goshen, IN died there February
20, 2009. She was born December 3, 1920 in Elkhart County, Indiana to
Enos and Ruth (Lehman) Mumaw. On June 22, 1941 in Elkhart, IN she
was married to John Stalter, who was born December 5, 1917 and
survives.
Surviving are children, Stanford (Lyndee) Stalter; Kathleen Ann (Mitch)
Najar;
Loretta Jane (David) Cross; one grandchild, and two sisters, Winifred
(Rev. Elmer) Wall and Frances (Dr. G. Weldon) Troyer.
Kathryn loved music and attended Goshen College where she majored in
music and social studies. She was a member of the Elkhart
Symphony Auxiliary and the Oaklawn Auxiliary. She was the
organist at Southside Fellowship, Elkhart, IN, for many years.
After she and John moved to Goshen in 1992 Kathryn made comforters,
donating over 100 comforters to Mennonite Central Committee.

Stalter, Kathryn L. 88 of Goshen, IN died February 20,
2009 at Goshen General Hospital. She was born December 3, 1920 in
Elkhart Co., IN. to Enos and Ruth (Lehman) Mumaw on She married John
Stalter on June 22, 1941.
She was organist for Southside Fellowship. She and her husband, John
were charter members of the Fellowship. Her hobby of knotting
comforters and donated more 100 of them to the Mennonite Central
Committee.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Ann (Mitch) Najar of Goshen,
IN and Jane Cross (David) of Albany, OR; one son, Sanford C. (Lyndeg)
Stalter of Cornwall Bridge, CT; one grandson, Daniel Stalter; two

including heart attack, stroke, and congestive heart failure. She

(Egle) Rocke. On December 29, 1945 she was married to Raymond
"Fritz" Stalter, who survives.

State Bank of Graymont before farming with her husband south of Flanagan
until they moved to Flanagan. She volunteered at Spare &
Share Shop, Gridley, IL.

Delbert L. Stauffer
was silently born on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at the Evangelical
Community Hospital, Lewisburg. He was the son of David W. and Eunice S.
(Martin) Stauffer.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brothers and sisters,
Jadon Stauffer, Rochelle Stauffer, Roxene Stauffer and Dean Stauffer,
all at home; paternal grandfather, Earl Stauffer of Port Trevorton;
maternal grandfather, Eugene Martin, husband of Rachel Martin of
Liverpool; aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded by his paternal grandmother, Kathryn Stauffer; and
maternal grandmother, Vera Martin.
Burial was private in Riverview Mennonite Church Cemetery,
Liverpool. The George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc. 9336 Route
35, assisted the family with the arrangements.

Stauffer, Edwin S., 81, of 1830 Meadow View Road, Manheim passed
away at home on Thursday, December 31, 2009 following a lengthy illness.
Born in Earl Township, he was the son of the late Abram and Bertha S.
Stauffer. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth E. "Betty" Keller
Stauffer who died in 2006. Edwin owned and operated a farm in Lebanon
County; he also worked at the former Calcite Quarry, Lebanon. For many
years he was a faithful deacon at the Lititz Dunkard Brethren Church
and in his latter years he was a member of the Brethren Fellowship
Church, Ephrata. His interests included gardening, traveling and he was
very devoted to his church and family.
Surviving are five children, Galen L. husband of Donna Stauffer of
Bernville, Lucy J. wife of Timothy M. Siegrist of Manheim, Sally A.
wife of James Meyers of Iowa, Mary Lou wife of Timothy Kasza of
Michigan, Edward L. husband of Linda Stauffer of Lebanon; 35
grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Rauser of
Ephrata; two daughters-in-law, Joyce Stauffer of Myerstown, Sheila
Stauffer of Ohio and a sister-in-law, Estella Stauffer of Ephrata. He
was preceded in death by two sons, Glen L. and Robert K. Stauffer; two
sisters, Martha Eberly, Anna Keller and a brother, Abram Stauffer.

Stauffer, Isaac M., 56, of Ephrata, entered into rest at Hospice
of Lancaster County, Mount Joy on Monday, July 6, 2009 following a
2-year illness.
Born in Bethel Township on July 17, 1952, he was the son of Lydia
(Musser) Stauffer of Myerstown and the late Isaac W. Stauffer. He was
the husband of Joyce S. (Martin) Stauffer. They were married for over
35 years.
Isaac was a member of Akron Church of the Brethren where he had served
on the Deacon, Trustee, Stewardship and Building Study committees and
served as a Sunday School teacher. He was Vice President of Masonry for
the Horst Group in Lancaster, having been employed there since 1973. He
was a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors Association,
working with the Apprenticeship Program. Isaac was also a masonry
advisor for Steven's College and also for
the Lancaster County Career and Technical Center.
Isaac was a member of the Joyce Kilmer Hunting Camp in Union County.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Shawn I.
Stauffer of Carlisle, and his daughter, Melanie L. Stauffer of
Clearwater, FL; two brothers, Melvin M., husband of Mabel (Martin)
Stauffer of Bethel and Mervin M., husband of Susan (Martin) Stauffer of
Bethel; and four sisters, Edith M., wife of Leroy Martin of Myerstown,
Verna M., wife of Ralph Weiler of Ephrata, Eva Jane M., wife of Glenn
Weiler of Wolcott, NY, and Mabel M., wife of Eugene
Weiler of Myerstown.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, James.

Louella S. Stauffer,
80, of Port Trevorton, passed
away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at her residence.
She was born March 9, 1929, in Ephrata, Lancaster County, a daughter
of the late Harvey F. and Maggie R. Stauffer. On Dec. 13, 1952, she
married Paul Z. Stauffer, who survives. Her passing breaks a marital
union of 57 years.
She was a member of Stauffer Mennonite Church at Riverview, Liverpool.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and two
sons-in-law, Janice E. and Marcus M. Stauffer of Port Trevorton,
Florence E. Stauffer at
home, and Yvonne M. and Warren S. Martin of Ephrata; one son, Peter P.
Stauffer at home; nine step-grandchildren; eight step-great
grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers-in- law,
Elsie S. Martin and Grace S. Weaver, both of Ephrata, Florence S.

Mrs. Stauffer was preceded by a son, James E. Stauffer in August of

The family will receive friends for the viewing from 2 to 7 p.m.

Stauffer, Melvin P., 74, of Mendon, Michigan died May 23, 2009
at Three Rivers, Michigan from a heart attack. He was born
January 14, 1935 at Lancaster, PA to Peter and Amanda (Stoltzfus)
Stauffer. On September 26, 1959 at Leonidas,
Michigan he was married to Clara Jean Yoder, who was born February 8,
1939 and survives.
Surviving are a son, Ernie (Pam) Stauffer; a daughter, Carol (Joseph)
Kotva; four grandchildren, a brother, Christian (Leah) Stauffer; and
six sisters, Mary (Addona) Nissley; Verna Swartzentruber; Anna Belle
Stauffer; Ruth (Lew) Stoll; Elsie (Mike) Showalter; and Marion (Doyle)
Carpenter.
Memorial services were held May 28, 2009 at Calvary Chapel, Sturgis,
Michigan with burial in Locust Grove Cemetary, Findley, Michigan.

Phares G.
"Sonny" Stauffer, 69, of Steffen Valley Road, went home to be
with his Lord on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Geisinger Medical Center,
Danville, from injuries suffered in a farming accident at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Selinsgrove, a son of the late Phares O.
and Lizzie (Gehman) Stauffer. On May 26, 1961, he was united in
marriage to the former Erma F. Neitz, who survives. His passing breaks
a loving marital union of 48 years.
He was educated at the Kantz Grammar Schoolhouse.
He was a part-time carpenter in his early years. Starting in 1981, he
owned and operated the Phares Stauffer Custom Retail Butcher Shop at
RR1 Mount Pleasant Mills, retiring in 2005. During most of his years of
working, he was engaged in farming. Following his retirement, he and
his wife, Erma, assisted their children in the operation of the
continued family butcher shop business and the farm.
Mr. Stauffer attended both Ebenezer Bible Church, Selinsgrove, and St.
Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Pleasant Mills. He
was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
Family times were cherished by Mr. Stauffer, especially those spent
with his grandchildren and his great-grandson. He enjoyed hunting and
farming, and he loved to be actively working with the family business.
In addition to his wife, Erma, he is survived by five children, Donna
J. Wolf and husband Craig of Port Trevorton, David L. Stauffer and wife
Amelia, Diane L. Smeltz and husband Dale and Debra L. Carnahan and
husband Ronald, all of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Darren L. Stauffer and
wife Ivy of Middleburg; 11 grandchildren, Heather Wolf, Ryan Wolf,
Aleshia, Clayton Smeltz, Trent Smeltz, Jody Muncer and husband
Christopher, Brandy Carnahan, Amber Carnahan, Kirsten Stauffer, Collin
Stauffer and Caden Stauffer; one great-grandson, Jaden Muncer; two
brothers and two sisters, Martha Martin and husband Ira of Port
Trevorton, Harvey Stauffer of Middleburg, Sally Stauffer and husband
Walter of Selinsgrove and John Stauffer and wife Alice of Mount
Pleasant Mills; two brothers-in-law, Paul Good of Port Trevorton and
Ray Good of Selinsgrove; one sister-in-law, Catherine Stauffer of
Selinsgrove; and several generations of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by one brother, Titus Stauffer, and two sisters, Anna
Mary Good and Ida Good.
The family will receive friends for the visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to
8 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, followed by the funeral at 11,
all at St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Pleasant
Mills, with the Rev. Roger L. Womer officiating, assisted by the Rev.
Raymond D. Neitz.
Burial will be made in Ebenezer Bible Church Cemetery, Selinsgrove.

84, of 1509 Dogwood Court, Goshen, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday (Oct. 16,
2009) at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Kidron, Ohio, to Homer and Bertha
(Zuercher) Steiner. On June 14, 1947, at Olive Mennonite Church,
Elkhart, he married Mabel L. Smeltzer.
She survives, along with one son, Charles O. (Cheryl) Steiner, of
Goshen; two daughters, Carol (Dan) Scheerer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and
Gloria (Michael) Hood of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Chaun
(Jodie) and Chane Steiner, Chanda (Dustin) Miller and Scott and Amy
Hood; two great-grandchildren, Braeden and Bronson Steiner; five
brothers, Roy (Vesta) Steiner of Mission, Texas, George Steiner of
Wooster, Ohio, Marion (Ellen) Steiner of Temperance, Mich., Clayton
(Ruth) Steiner of Kidron, Ohio, and Kenneth (Mae) Steiner of Orrville,
Ohio; and three sisters, Viola (Stan) Kuhns of Goshen, Dorothy (Calvin)
Miller of Wilmot, Ohio, and Norma (Jim) Eberly of Jeromesville, Ohio.
Mr. Steiner was preceded in death by three sons, David L., Timothy R.
and Donald L.; one brother, Lee Steiner; and one sister, Arlene
Nussbaum.
Mr. Steiner was a minister for 50 years, pastoring at Olive Mennonite
in Elkhart and Waterford Mennonite, Chestnut Ridge and Salem Mennonite
in Ohio, and Grand Marais in Michigan.
He graduated from Dalton High School in 1942, Goshen College in 1950
and Goshen Biblical Seminary in 1951, when he was also ordained. He did
volunteer service in Pinkney, Mich., and Des Allemands, La.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Yoder-Culp
Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to a 2 p.m.
Tuesday funeral service at Olive Mennonite Church. The Revs. Sharon and
Kevin Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Olive West Cemetery.

Stoll, Mildred F. Rehm, 91, formerly of Marshallville, OH died
October 15, 2009 at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, OH. She was
born November 29, 1917 at Orrville, Ohio, to Albert and Nancy (Forrer)
Rehm. She married Marvin P. Stoll on November 9, 1939 in Smithville,
OH. She was a member of the Reformed Mennonite Church of Marshallville,
OH.
Surviving are two children, Willard M. (Bonnie) Stoll, Ruth M.
(William) Kaufman, all of Orrville, grandchildren, Jeffrey and Daniel
Kaufman, Shauna (James) Pittman, Chris (Chad) Schmeltzer, John and Jana
Lee Stoll. Also surviving are 7 great-grand children and a
sister, Evelyn Rehm Steiner.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin P. Stoll, her parents
Albert Rehm & Nancy Rehm and a daughter, Kathleen Faye Stoll died
in 1967.

Stoltzfoos, Fannie M. Miller, 81, of Leola, PA died July 14,
2009. She was born March 20, 1928 to John P. and Elizabeth Yoder
Miller. Her husband of 61 years, Simeon M. Stoltzfoos, recently passed
away on December 7, 2008. They were married on February 6, 1947. She
was a faithful member of the Weavertown Amish Mennonite Church.
Survived by five sons, Omar Aaron married to Mary Helmuth Stoltzfoos,
Edwin Ray married to Esther Yoder Stoltzfoos, Norman Lee married to
Donna Eberly Stoltzfoos, Allen David married to Vina Gabour Stoltzfoos,
all of Leola, PA; John Mark married to Ada Fisher Stoltzfoos of
Lancaster, PA; also two daughters, Brenda Mae married to J. Sam Nisly,
Oswego, KS, Mary Ann married to Dave King of Ronks, PA; 35
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, Enos Miller.

December 19, 2009 at the same place in a snowmobile accident. He

Jeff attended Maple Grove Mennonite Church of Atglen. He worked the
wheat harvest in the summer of 2009. He was a 2007 graduate of
Lancaster Mennonite School. He enjoyed the outdoors. Jeff enjoyed life
and had a great love for his Lord and Savior.

S. and Edna M. (Umble) Stoltzfus. Henry was born April 25, 1903
and died May 21, 1965. Edna was born Arpil 17, 1909 and died March 1,
2006.
Surviving are a son, Arlin, husband of Kim Hildebrand Stoltzfus; a
daughter, Michele, wife of Richard Barr; 5 grandchildren, a brother,

deceased.

She was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Alpha, Minn., to Lloyd and Nettie
Pearl (Hartzler) Garber. On June 9, 1949, she married Daniel H.
Stoltzfus in Jackson, Minn.
He survives along with six daughters, Priscilla D. (Jan) Trinkley of
Walnut, Calif., Jane E. (Jim) Buller and Lois (R. (John) Mast, both of
Goshen, Jean H. (Robert) Martin of Valparaiso, Danile R. (John) Martens
of Mishawaka and Miriam F. (Michael) DeShield of Belize, Central
America; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister,
Verna Faye (Earl) Greaser of Harrisonburg, Va.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lloyd D. Stoltzfus, in 1973;
and one brother, Peter Harvey Garber.
Mrs. Stoltzfus worked as a clerical secretary for 14 years at
Madison Center, beginning in 1970. She was a 1944 graduate of Hesston
College Academy. She attended Hesston College and worked in its
administrative offices.
She served with her husband in Taiwan and Hong Kong from 1949 to
1953, and traveled with him to Hudson Lake Mennonite Church, New
Carlisle, and Community Mennonite Church, South Bend. She was a member
of Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on
Monday, all at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen. A
memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Walnut Hill Mennonite

Stoltzfus, Stephen S., 73, of New Holland, South Carolina died
August 20, 2009. His parents are Aaron K. and Katie S. Stoltzfus. His
wife of 52 years: Edna Musser Stoltzfus. Mr. Stoltzfus
spent his retirement in SC as a volunteer prison chaplain under the
Carolina Chaplaincy Program. He attended the New Holland Mennonite
Church in New Holland, SC and was a member of the Rockville Mennonite
Church in Honey Brook, PA where he was a trustee for many years.
Survived by his wife Edna and children: Clair, married to Thelma Hoover
of East Earl, PA; Carolyn, married to Michael Biggs of Greenwood, DE;

Stoner, I. Paul (Dr.), 72, of Coco Beach, FL, formerly of
Lititz, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Easton
Hospital, Wilson Borough, PA.
Born on October 23, 1936 in Bird-In-Hand, PA, he was the son of the
late Isaac H. and Irene Wenger Stoner. Dr. Stoner had lived in Lititz,
PA before moving
to Coco Beach, FL. He had also enjoyed his summer residence in
Upper Mt. Bethel Township, PA.
Dr. Stoner was a graduate of Lititz High School, Millersville
University and Palmer School of Chiropractic. He also served in the
United States Marine Corps
from 1956 to 1958.
Dr. Stoner had his practice in chiropractic in Lititz for over 41 years
as the Stoner Chiropractic Center.
Dr. Stoner was the past president of the Chiropractic Fellowship of
Pennsylvania. He was an active politician promoting and protecting the
chiropractic profession. Dr. Stoner was very popular throughout the
country in the political arena.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Barbara Geuther Stoner; two sons,
Brett and his wife Laurie of Lititz, PA, and Lance of Atlanta, GA; two
grandsons, Patrick and David; three sisters, Shirley Derr and her
husband Pete of Mertztown, PA, Helen Becker and her husband Garth of
Lititz, PA, and Anna Shaner of Missoula, MT; a brother, Reid and his
wife Doris of Venice, FL; a brother-in-law, Rufus Burkholder of Lititz,
PA.
A sister, Marian Burkholder, had died earlier.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 11, 2009 at
MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ. Interment
will follow in the
Belvidere Cemetery, Belvi-dere, NJ. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to
the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Stonesifer, Lydia A. Sharp, 71, of Mount Joy, PA died August 25,
2009 at Camp Hill, PA from cancer. She was born February 8, 1938
at Belleville, Mifflin Co., PA to Joseph and Mary (Byler) Sharp.
On September 10, 1960 she was married to David C. Stonesifer, who is
deceased.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol, wife of Kirk Stein ldren, two
brothers, Lester, husband of Reba Sharp; Lee, husband of Louise Sharp;
and a sister, Martha Strite.
A brother, Joseph Sharp preceded her in death.

Stucky, Roland David, 85, of Kingsburg CA died August 9, 2009 at
Reedley, Fresno Co., CA. He was born January 9, 1924 at
Moundridge, McPherson, Co., KS to John D. and O'Tillie (Schrag)
Stucky. On September 27, 2003 at Wawona, Mariposa Co., CA he was
married to Ferne Boucher. He was first married to Elaine Eymann
Stucky from 1924 until her death in 2002.
Surviving are children, Mureen Sinclair (Steven); Patrice Flaming
(Ron); Scott Stucky (Delia); 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and
two brothers, Melvin Stucky (Aldene) and LeRoy Stucky (Audrey).
Nine siblings, Elmer Stucky, Alida Bartel, Art Stucky, Agnes Stucky,
Rube Stuckey, Dorothy Bartel, Oliver Stucky, Esther Mae Schmidt, and
Betty Ingram
preceded him in death.
He graduated from Moundridge High School, Bethel College and Kansas
University Medical School and practiced as a family physician and
general
surgeon in Kingsburg, CA for 35 years. In retirement he lived in
Wawona, CA,
served on the Bethel College Board of Directors, and participated in
several medical mission trips.

Stultz, Edgar Franklin, 83, of Broadway, Va., died Friday, Feb.
27, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Bergton, and was a son of the late John
Raleigh and Clara Moyer Stultz.
He retired after 27 years of running a forklift in the piping
department at Walker Manufacturing. He was a U.S. Marine Corps
veteran
of World War II. He was a member of Crab Run Church of the Brethren and
a member of Bergton Ruritan Club.
On Sept. 28, 1947, he married the former Esther Geil, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Margaret Dispanet and husband, Bruce, of
Mathias, W.Va.; grandchildren, Phillip Miller and wife, Dianne, of
Timberville, Robert Miller and wife, Kara, of Timberville, Barbara
Miller of Mount Jackson; great-grandchildren, Lauren Miller of Mount
Jackson, Kyle Miller and Lacey Miller, both of Timberville; a
stepgrandson, Brandon Dispanet and wife, Cassie, of Broadway; a nephew,
James Stultz of Broadway and a niece, Diana Stultz of Broadway.
A brother, Cleil Stultz, preceded him in death.
Pastors Robert Curns, Frank Tusing and Max Fisher will conduct a
funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grandle Funeral Home chapel in
Broadway. Burial will be in the Perry Moyer Memorial Cemetery in
Bergton.

Stultz, Esther Marie Geil, 80, of Broadway, died Friday, April
3, 2009, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 28, 1928, in Broadway, and was a daughter of the late
Arthur Daniel and Sarah Mathias Geil.
She was a nurse's aide at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, where she
enjoyed working in the nursery. She was a member of Crab Run
Church of the Brethren in Mathias.
On Sept. 28, 1947, she married Edgar Franklin Stultz, who preceded her
in death on Feb. 27, 2009.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Dispanet and husband, Bruce, of
Mathias; a brother, David S. Geil of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Rhoda
Olinger of New Market; three grandchildren, Philip Miller and wife,
Diane, of Timberville, Robert Miller and wife, Kara, of Timberville,
Barbara Miller of Mount Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Lauren
Miller of Mount Jackson, Kyle and Lacey
Miller, both of Timberville, a stepgrandson, Brandon Dispanet and wife,

William Stutzman, who was born June 24, 1919 and died October 23, 2004.

GOSHEN -- Eva Marie Stutzman, 71, of 420 Westwood Road, died at 12:40
a.m. Thursday (Nov. 26, 2009) in her home.
She was born Sept. 19, 1938, in New Paris to Jency and Lovina (Garber)
Hershberger. On Oct. 17, 1958, she married Melvin Stutzman at Clinton
Frame Mennonite Church.
He survives with one daughter, Carla (Bob) Mathis of Goshen; two sons,
Steve (Rachel) Stutzman of Topeka, Kan., and Kermit (Pauline) Stutzman
of Middlebury; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; four sisters,
Rosie Hershberger and Thelma (Richard) Ramer, both of Goshen, and Linda
(Richard) Wogoman and Betty (Dave) Schmid, both of Granger; and two
brothers, Richard (Kathy) Hershberger of Palm Beach Shores, Fla., and
Arthur (Jane) Hershberger of Dillwyn, Va.
One brother, Terry Hershberger, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stutzman was a homemaker who had worked at nursing homes, as a
receptionist at Vance Weaver Realty, as assistant director at The
Window and as a sales clerk at the former Provident Bookstore, Goshen,
for 13 years. She was a member of Pleasantview Mennonite Church who
graduated from Bethany Christian High School in 1956 and cared for
about 60 foster children in the past.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Yoder-Culp
Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen. A private graveside service
will be prior to the 11 a.m. Monday memorial service at Pleasantview
Mennonite Church. Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford will officiate.
Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen.

February 25, 2009 at Wellman, Iowa. She was born November 9, 1926
at Harrisonville, Missouri to Samuel and Mabel (Hartzler)
Hershberger. On June 30, 1949 at Garden City, Missouri she was
married to Harold Stutzman, who is deceased.
Surviving are children, Jerry Stutzman and wife Carol, James Stutzman,

Stutzman, Mary Stutzman, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a

Roy E. Stutzman
Roy Elbert Stutzman, the son of
Bert and Elma (Roth) Stutzman, was born on October 31, 1944 on a farm
near Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. He passed away on August 24, 2009 at
Bryan LGH West in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 64 years, 9 months
and 24 days.
Roy was one of nine children. He was consecrated in the West Fairview
Mennonite Church in Beaver Crossing and confirmed in the Faith Lutheran
Church in Seward, Nebraska. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church,
Superior, Nebraska. While growing up he attended Walnut Creek Grade
School and graduated from Beaver High School.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Schleufer on June 7, 1969 at Salem
Lutheran Church, Superior, Nebraska. This union was blessed with four
children.
Roy was a former Jaycees member at Utica, Nebraska. He love to spend
time with his grandchildren and his dog Lucy. He enjoyed farming,
hunting, fishing and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Cloy,
brothers-in-law Alvin Erb and Willard Roth.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of Nora, Nebraska; daughter Cori
Bennett and husband Tony of McPherson, Kansas; son Timothy Stutzman and
friend Becki Hansen of Nelson, Nebraska; daughter Laura Folkerts and
husband Mike of Great Bend, Kansas; and Vicky Wagner and husband Jeromi
of Superior, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren, Chris and Becky Dirks, Jessie

Bind Us Together" and "The Old Rugged Cross", with Stephanie Thayer as
soloist and Sonia Schmidt as organist.
Pallbearers were Brian Pahl, Howard Schultz, Bill Erb, Merle Erb, Mike
Peters,Daniel Schleufer, Edd Epley, and Dan Renz.
Interment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Stutzman, Thelma F. Stutzman
Thelma F. Stutzman was born
March 2, 1935 on a farm near Wood River, Nebraska to Clarence and Ethel
(Jantzi) Stutzman, the third of seven children and went to her heavenly
home on Monday, May 4, 2009 at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 2
days. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized in
her youth at the Wood River Mennonite Church. As a young girl Thelma
attended Country School District #24 and later graduated with the Class
of 1952 from Wood River High School. She received her Nebraska Teaching
Certificate by attending Kearney State College and taught District #58
near Cairo, District #76 near Wood River, and District #80 near Beaver
Crossing. Thelma was united in marriage to Richard Stutzman on June 10,
1956 at Wood River Mennonite Church. To this union three children,
Gordon, Vickie and Jerlyn were born.
Thelma farmed and worked side by side with her husband Richard while
she raised her family. She was employed at the Friend Medical Center
for 21 years. In 1989, she earned her CDL and began driving a truck
with Richard across the country enjoying their travels to all parts of
the US, never having an accident or receiving a ticket. Thelma was a
courier for Danbred for four years. She also served as a baker at the
Casey's General Store in Milford. Thelma was a strong worker and had a
mission anytime she set her mind to a task. Thelma kept at the job
until it was done. In her spare time, she enjoyed raising flowers,
gardening, quilting, fishing with her grandchildren, spending time with
her family, brothers and sisters as well as her other relatives, and
enjoyed babysitting with great-granddaughter, Ayla, who lovingly named
her "GiGi". For the last twelve years, Richard and Thelma made their
home in Phoenix during the winter months.
Thelma was a member of Bellwood Mennonite Church, Milford.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Richard Stutzman, Beaver Crossing,
son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Terri Stutzman, Beaver Crossing,
daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Randy Roth, Milford, Jeri and
Bruce Knapp, Bloomfield, IA, ten grandchildren and spouses, Tyler,
Carson and Kody Stutzman, Brandon and wife Ashley, Bryce, Brock and his
wife Shalon, Brittany Roth, Hannah, Cecil, Clarabell Knapp, two
great-grandchildren, Ayla and Broderick Roth, brothers and sisters and
spouses, Paul and Dorothy Stutzman, Merna Boshart, Ralph Stutzman, all
of Wood River, Phyllis and Dennis Bauman, Lincoln, sister-in-law, Judy

officiating. Graveside service prior to funeral service at 10:00 a.m.
Friday at Milford Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation is 2-5 pm Thursday at
Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, 7-9 pm at the Church where family
will receive friends and relatives. Memorials may be directed.

was married to Edna B. Benner, who was born January 4, 1925 and died
