Nafziger, Carl J., age 86 years, of Wauseon, passed away
Saturday morning, June 12, 2010, at the Toledo Hospital. He was born
September 15, 1923, near Archbold, a son of Elmer and Lillie (Yoder)
Nafziger, and married Maribell Brown on June 1, 1958. A lifelong
resident of the Archbold/Wauseon area, he farmed and worked at LaChoy
Food Products, Sauder Woodworking Co., and the former Seco
Manufacturing in Wauseon. He was a member of the Central Mennonite
Church near Archbold.
He is survived by his wife, Maribell; two daughters, Linda Nafziger of
Wauseon, and Elaine (Ed) Swartzbaugh of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dale Nafziger,
Everett Nafziger, and Gerald Nafziger; two sisters, Katherine Short,
and an infant Nevada Nafziger.
Services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Central Mennonite
Church with Pastors Jeffrey Smith, Wanda Stopher and Bill Holsopple
officiating. Interment will follow in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends
may call at Short Funeral Home in Archbold from 2 - 8 PM on Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Mennonite Central Committee or the Black
Swamp Benefit.

death.

Naylor, Ann Musselman, 68, of Goshen, IN died October 27, 2010.
She was born in Gettysburg, PA, on April 14, 1942, to Howard Yoder and
Ruth Miller Musselman. She married Lewis Metzler Naylor on
June 27, 1964 in Fairfield, Pennsylvania. He survives.
She was an active member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, and
was a counselor with Ryan's Place. She had served with Teachers Abroad
Program under Mennonite Central Committee in Tanzania, East
Africa.

Ann Musselman Naylor,
68, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at her home.
She was born April 14, 1942, in Gettysburg, Pa., to Howard Yoder and
Ruth Miller Musselman. On June 27, 1964, in Fairfield, Pa., she married
Lewis Metzler Naylor. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Daniel (Michelle) Musselman Naylor of Gurnee,
Ill.; granddaughter Juliet of Gurnee; and sister Joyce (Earl) Shutt of
Fairfield, Pa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Lee Naylor, and a sister,
Janet (Paul) Snyder.
An active member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, she served with
teachers abroad program under Mennonite Central Committee in Tanzania
East Africa. She was a counselor with Ryan's Place, Goshen.
She was a registered dietitian and last worked at Anne Arundel County
Health Department, Annapolis, Md. She graduated from Bluffton College
and Iowa State University. Ann enjoyed herbal gardening.
Visitation will be at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, from 2 to
4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, and from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6. A
memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Brenda Sawatzky
Paetkau and Pastor Kevin Farmwald officiating.
Her body will be cremated and burial will be at a later date. Memorial
contributions may be given to Ryan's Place.

Neuenschwander, Naomi Helmuth Sommers, 91, of Louisville, OH
died June 1, 2010 at Orrville, Wayne Co., OH. She was born to
Gideon and Fanny Helmuth and was married to Paul Neuenschwander, who
survives.
Surviving are children, Donald and Janet Sommers, Duane and Gale
Sommers, Charlotte Miller, Jeanette Wagner, and Sherri and Galen
Lehman; step-children, Art and Ken Neuenschwander, Shirley Hochstetler,
Janet Hostetler, Kathy Zendt, and Norma Burkholder, 9 grandchildren, 14
step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 9 step-great
grandchildren.
Her first husband, Kenneth Sommers preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held June 4, 2010 at Beech Mennonite Church,

Newswanger, Anna K., 63, of James Drive, Denver, PA, died early
Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, following a brief illness. Born in Brecknock
Twp., she was the daughter of the late David M. and Amanda (Kilmer)
Newswanger.
She was a member of Blainsport Mennonite Church. She had been employed
as a dietary aide for 20 years at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon,
and also parttime with Yoder's Restaurant as a banquet server. Anna was
a loving and caring aunt to her nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and
nephews, and enjoyed reading, traveling and gardening.
Surviving are her siblings: Susie Newswanger, and Elias, married to
Mary Newswanger, both of Costa Rica, C.A., Marian, married to Floyd
Rissler, East Earl, Amos, married to Eileen Newswanger, Ephrata, Daniel
Newswanger, Terre Hill, and Lydia Newswanger, Reading; nieces and
nephews and grand-nieces and
grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother David.
Her funeral will be on Tuesday, August 17, at 2 p.m. at Blainsport
Mennonite Church, 85 S. Blainsport Road, Reinholds, with Pastors Eric
P. Marshall, James Fahnestock and Quentin D. Rissler officiating.
Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be
on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Church and on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until

Newswanger, Miriam B. Sensenig, 83, of 333 Wheat Ridge Dr.,
Ephrata, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at
Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late A. R. and
Virginia (Burkholder) Sensenig.
Her husband, Robert H. Newswanger, died Dec. 19, 2002.
Miriam was a homemaker and a member of Ranck's United Methodist Church
where she was active in the children's Sunday school department. She
was also an active member in the Lancaster Bible College Auxiliary and
she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and knitting.
Surviving are three daughters, Judy, married to Rev. Thomas Noyes of
Sunbury, Sheryl, married to Richard Wright of Lansdale, and Cathy Jo
Newswanger of New Holland; five sons, Barry, married to Kathy (Fifer)
Newswanger of New Holland, Lee Newswanger of Williamsport, Rev. Gerald,
married to Sue (Johnstone) Newswanger of Wycombe, Steven, married to
Robin (Haws) Newswanger of Ephrata, and Bryan, married to Kathy (Gorny)
News-wanger of Mason, OH; 25 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; a
brother, Chester B., married to Naomi (Mast) Sensenig of Warwick, NY;
and a sister, Virginia B. Sensenig of Orlando, FL.
Preceding her in death are two sons, Robert H., Jr., and James L.
Newswanger; and two brothers, Ray B. and Melvin B. Sensenig.

April 4, 2010 at the same place. She was born June 7, 1915 at
Denbigh, Virginia to Harvey and Lydia I. (Hertzler) Yoder.
On March 31, 1941 at Denbigh, VA she was married to Cecil D. Nice, who
died March 20 2004.
Surviving are children, Harvey Nice, Elaine Nice, Steven Nice, Rachel
Beth Kauffman Nice, Dolores Nice-Siegenthaler, David Siegenthaler,

Nisley, William J., 77, of LaGrange, IN, died June 18, 2010 at
Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange, IN. He was born on July 30,
1932 in Goshen, IN to Jake and Katie (Chupp) Nisley. On November 2,
1954 in Elkhart County, IN he married Dorothy Chupp. Mrs. Nisley
survives in LaGrange, IN. He was a member of the LaGrange Missionary
Church in LaGrange.
Survived by his wife Dorthoy and three sons and two daughters-in-law,
Gerald and Doris Nisley of Shipshewana, IN, Kenneth Nisley of
Middlebury, IN, and Lyle and Mary Nisley of Scott, IN; six
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Melvin Nisley of
Goshen, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Clara Yoder; and two
brothers, Ora and Leo Nisley.

PA, died August 8, 2010. Born May 12, 1919 in Exeland, WI, to Harvey S.

(Stoltzfus) Nissley preceded him in death. His 2nd wife, Minerva
(Gehman) Nissley.
He was a member of Witmer Heights Mennonite Church, Lancaster, PA, he
was a church council member and Sunday School teacher, He was also
affiliated with Gideon's International.
Survied by 3 sons and 2 daughters: Gerard, husband of Rhoda (Bergey)
Nissley of Elverson, PA; Robert, husband of Janelle (Miller) Nissley of
Hungry Horse, MT; Louise, wife of Rev. Arthur Good, Kouts, IN; Rev.

Darrell Miller, Olathe, KS. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 21
great-grandchildren. Mr. Nissley is survived by 3 step-children:

peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 at home after a yearlong illness.
Born in West Earl Township, he was the son of the late Peter Z. and
Lydia (Zimmerman) Nolt. He was married 56 years Nov. 11th to Mary F.
(Sauder) Nolt. He was a farmer and a member of the Groffdale Old Order
Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Lancaster General Hospital, after a short
illness.
Born in East Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Daniel B. and
Lizzie (Martin) Nolt. She worked most of her life as a domestic
housekeeper.
She was a member of Weaverland Old Order Mennonite Church, Groffdale
Conference.
Surviving are eight sisters, Frances M. Martin and Hettie M., married
to Charles Sagner both of New Holland, Lena M. Hoover of Denver, Jennie
M. Nolt of Blue Ball, Susan M. Zimmerman of Roaring Springs, Rebecca M.
Nolt of Lancaster, Ida M., married to Noah Martin of Newville, and Edna
M. Nolt, with whom she resided; five brothers, John M., married to
Barbara (Sensenig) Nolt and Menno M., married to Mabel (Burkholder)
Nolt both of New Holland, Isaac M., married to Rebecca (Hoover) Nolt of
Latham, MO, Elam M., married to Sarah (Zimmerman) Nolt of East Earl,
and Luke M., married to Alma (Burkholder) Nolt of Ephrata; 112 nieces
and nephews; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are three brothers, Henry, Ammon, and Weaver
Nolt.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 11 at 8:45 a.m. at the
home of Menno Nolt, 282 Rancks Church Road, New Holland, with further
services at 9:30 a.m. at Weaverland Mennonite Church with the Bishop
Ben F. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mildred M. Nolt, 62, of 291 Black Creek Rd., East Earl, died Monday,
July 26, 2010 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Melvin S.
Nolt.
Born in Terre Hill, she was the daughter of Eli N. Newswanger, New
Holland and the late Emma (Martin) Newswanger.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Honey Brook Mennonite Church.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by six children:
Mervin married to Florence (Good), Cambridge Springs; Dorcas married to
Lewis Zimmerman, New Holland; Rosanne married to Merle Sensenig,
Schaefferstown; Nicholas married to Jolene (Sauder), Narvon; Thelma
married to Wesley Weaver, Ewing, IL; and Malinda married to Stanley
Boll, Mt. Airy, MD; 16 grandchildren; and six siblings: John Daniel
Newswanger, Newville; Arlene married to Phares Shirk, Narvon; Emma
married to Edwin Reiff, Leola; Lena Mae married to Lewis Leid, Narvon;
Eli Newswanger, Brownstown and Mary Ann married to Paul Burkholder, New
Holland.
She was preceded in death by three stillborn children.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 30, at 10 AM at the Honey
Brook Mennonite Church with Bishop Wilmer N. Weaver, Elmer W. Martin,
Duane H. Martin and J. Mark Hostetter officiating. Interment will be in

Nussbaum, Leroy "Red", age 78, of Orrville, OH died January 27,
2010 at Orrville Pointe. He was born in Dalton, OH on August 5, 1931 to
Levi and Nettie (Amstutz) Nussbaum.
Red had been employed by Tscheigg Drainage, Ralph Mumaw Trucking, and
Three Seventeen Corporation. He enjoyed putting together puzzles,
visits with his brother in Arizona, sharing pictures of his trips, and
bluegrass music.
He is survived by two brothers, Harold (Nancy) Nussbaum of Orrville, OH
and Vernon (Ruth) Nussbaum of Scottsdale, AZ; two sisters, Harriet
(Ray) Nobilt of Wooster, OH and Edie (Don) Potter of Orrville, OH and
numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Red was preceded in death by six brothers,
Lavern, Marion, Orrie, Adrian, John, and Merlin and one sister, Delphia
Linder.
Memorial Service was January 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Kidron
Mennonite Church with Pastor Thomas Dunn officiating. Family graveside

Roy M. Nussbaum, 78,
died Wednesday [December 29, 2010] at Greencroft Healthcare. He had
been in failing health the past two years.
He was born July 24, 1932, in West Lebanon, Ohio, to the late Amos and
Persis (Amstutz) Nussbaum. He married Florence Hershberger Aug. 13,
1955, in Garden City, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters Kay (Terry) Shue of Kidron, Ohio, and
Rhonda (Roger) Yoder of Goshen; grandchildren Bethany (Scott) Nussbaum,
Krista (Craig) Mast, Kelsey Shue, Matthew (Chelsey) Yoder and Amanda
Yoder; twin sister Ruth (Delvin) Nussbaum of Orrville, Ohio; and
brothers Milan (Laura) Chovan and Emil (Nancy) Chovan, both of
Massillon, Ohio, and John Bocko of Dayton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by sister Ann Zimmer and brother Dan Bocko.
A 1950 graduate of Dalton High School, he did voluntary service in
Kansas City from 1951 to 1952. A longtime resident of Kidron, he was a
volunteer fireman for more than 10 years. A Goshen resident since 1986,
Mr. Nussbaum drove trucks for more than 50 years, most recently for
Nickles Bakery. After retiring in 1997, he worked part time as a
greeter at Meijer, Goshen. He did voluntary service in 1986 to 1987 for
Mennonite Board of Missions at Guest House, Elkhart. He was a member of
College Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday in the Koinonia Room at
College Mennonite Church and one hour prior to Saturday's 2 p.m.
service in the church. Saturday's 2 p.m. funeral service will be
conducted at College Mennonite Church with pastors Ron Kennel and Betty
Hochstetler officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Violett
Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Mennonite Mission Network or
College Mennonite Church Jubilee Fund.

died February 18, 2010, at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief
illness. She was born in January 25, 1925, in East Hempfield Twp.
Lancaster Co., PA to Harnish H. and Selena B. (Brubaker) Landis. She
was the wife of the late Wilmer S. Oberholtzer who died December 4,
2007.
Della was a member of Hammer Creek Mennonite Church where she taught
adult Sunday School classes for many years.
Survived by one daughter, Carolyn, wife of Clair E. Martin of Lititz,
PA eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1
great-great-grandchild. Also one sister, Selena Stauffer of Lancaster,
PA survives.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Weaver, two brothers,
Raymond and D. Isaac Landis and four sisters: Iva, Roberta, Vera Landis
and Alma Fox.
Funeral service was February 24, 2010 at the Hammer Creek Mennonite
Church, with Sam Burkholder and Allen Rust officiating. Interment will
follow in the Hammer Creek Mennonite cemetery, Lititz, PA.

Olweiler, Jr., Francis L., 89, of Elizabethtown, PA died
April 2, 2010 in his residence. He was born in Springettsbury Twp. to
the late Francis L., Sr. and Viola E. (Withers) Olweiler.
He was a member of Stauffer Mennonite Church, Hershey, PA and the
Elizabethtown American Legion. Additionally, he was a member of many
area bands including the New Cumberland Town Band. He was a retired
foreman for the former Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown and a WWII
Army Air Corps veteran.
Survived by his wife Kathleen (Haskell) Olweiler; four sons, Mark,
Ross, Francis L., III, and Nathan H.; a daughter Sandra Lee Horne; his
step-mother Dorothy Olweiler all of Elizabethtown, PA; a sister,
Mariana Allen of Elizabethtown, PA; three brothers, Chester R. of
Cornwall, J. Phillip of Hilton Head, SC and Jacob Nissley of
Elizabethtown, PA; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Private

Olson, David Cornelius, Sr., 88, of Colorado Springs, El Paso
County, CO died May 4, 2010 at the same place. He was born August
29, 1921 at Fergus Fall, Minnesota to Conrad and Olga Olson. In
1944 he was married to Dorothy Pomeroy, who died September 11, 2008.
Surviving are children, Mark & Joan Olson; David & Doris Olson;
and Steve & Leng Leng Olson; 7 grandchildren, and 2
great-grandchildren.
David's full-time work and major passion from 1944-1987 was an editor
of Christian publications. From 1947-1976, he created, award-winning
weekly
publications designed for a wide variety of ages, from young children,
older youth, and adults. Although these were officially published by
the Baptist denomination in which he grew up, they were distributed
widely through other channels, including Gospel Light Publications to
Sunday schools of many denominations. He served as editor of "World
Vision" Magazine from 1978-1987. After retirement Dave poured endless
energy and creative imagination into researching and developing a
church-related tutoring program for school-age children called Pikes
Peak One+One.
Memorial services were held May 10, 2010 at Beth-El Mennonite Church
Colorado Springs, CO. His body was cremated.

Edna Marie Otto 76, of Kokomo,
Indiana, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at her
residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the
Raymond Chupp residence, 2615 N. & 700 E. Kokomo with Bishop Marvin
Otto officiating. Burial will follow in Christner Cemetery. Visitation
was held Monday afternoon and evening at the Raymond Chupp residence.

Mrs. Otto was born November 14, 1933, in Arthur. She was the daughter

and two stepsisters, Susie Lehman and Annie Yoder.

Kurtis Eugene Otto, infant son
of Mervin and Lou Ida Otto of Sullivan, was stillborn at 11:23 p.m. on
Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in
Mattoon.
Visitation was held Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday morning at
Trinity Christian Fellowship in rural Arthur. Funeral services were
held at Sunday morning at the church with Rev. Wilbur Gingerich
officiating. Burial was in Trinity Christian Fellowship Cemetery.

Kurtis is survived by his parents, Mervin J. and Lou Ida Otto of
Sullivan; seven siblings, Cynthia, Delbert, LaWayne, Valerie, Virgil,
LaWanda, and Rochelle; maternal grandparents, Leroy and Sarah Jane Otto
of Tuscola; and his paternal grandfather, Jerry Otto Jr. of Arcola.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and his paternal
grandmother, Annie Marie Otto.
Kurtis's parents are members of Trinity Christian Fellowship in Arthur.

Mary Lucille (Gingerich) Otto,
87, died Thursday at 2:45 p.m. at her residence.
She married Henry J. Otto Dec. 6, 1945, in Kokomo. He died Aug. 7, 1992.
She is survived by three sons, Elmer (Treva) Otto, and Marvin (Mary)
Otto, both of Kokomo, and Omer (Kathy) Otto, Greentown; and a daughter,
Diane Smith, Kokomo.
Visitation for family and friends will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. and
all day Sunday at the Elmer Otto residence, 4610 N. 600 East, Kokomo,
where the funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Burial will follow in Christner Cemetery, Kokomo.

She was born September 19, 1924. On August 29, 1945 she was
married to Verle Oyer, who was born September 8, 1920 and died February
10, 2003.

at the same place. She was born November 3, 1919 at Milford,
Nebraska. On September 4, 1944 she was married to Vilas Oyer, who
died March 16, 2010.
Surviving are children, Jerry S. (Susie) Oyer, Kenneth R. (Marcia)

Pankratz, Mildred Denniston, 79, of Reedley, CA died December
26, 2010 at Turlock, CA. She was born December 16, 1931. On
June 5, 1950 at Monmouth, CA she was married to F. Carl Pankratz, who
was born March 1, 1919 and died May 15, 2007.
Surviving are children, Sheila Bonds, Sharon Perez, Mark & Joyce
Pankratz, and Eric & Lori Pankratz, 7 grandchildren, and 8
great-grandchildren.

Calif., He was born and raised in Belleville, PA to Raymond and Ethel
(Zook) Peachey.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of Tracy, Calif.; a daughter,
Celia Peachey, of New York, N.Y.; a son Neil Peachey, of Tracy, Calif.;

Peachey, Sylvan L., 53, of Belleville, PA died Feb. 27, 2010, at
the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. He was born Sept. 24,
1956, in Lewistown, to Chris B. & Nannie M. Swarey Peachey and two
stepmothers, Rebecca Wengerd Peachey and Mary Raber Peachey.
He is survived by his wife, Katie L. Swarey Peachey, and they were

Peters, Ardean James, 68, of York, NE died March 23, 2010 at
Henderson, NE. He was born January 29, 1942 at Henderson, NE to
Olga Peters. He was married to Bette Tonniges.
Surviving are his mother, his wife, a son, Garet (Traci) Peters, 2
daughters, Lisette (Eric) Liudahl and Stacey (Mark) Michels, and 5

Elva J. Petersheim,
64, of Topeka, died on Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2010) at his home.
He was born March 12, 1946, in LaGrange County to Jacob and Sarah
(Shrock) Petersheim. On Dec. 1, 1966, he married Lydia Mae Miller. She
survives.
Daughters Katie Mae (Daniel) Miller of Lagrange and Mariam Petersheim
of Middlebury; sons Jacob (Esther) Petersheim, Samuel (Ida Sue) and
David (Barbara) Petersheim, both of Lagrange, Tobie (Malinda) and Ezra
(Minerva) Petersheim and John (Carolyn) Petersheim; sisters Mary
(Melvin) Hershberger of Topeka, Elsie Kurtz of Millersburg, Ida Mae
(Lorenzo) Romano of Goshen, Ruby (Marvin) Graber of Lagrange and Katie
(Perry) Mast of Topeka; and 51 grandchildren survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter;
brothers-in-law Samuel Miller and Maneilius Kurtz; and sister LeAnna
Miller.
Visitation will be all day today at the Vernon Miller residence, 6805
West 400 South, Topeka, where the funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m.
Friday. Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka. Miller-Stewart
Funeral Home, Middlebury, is handling arrangements.

Anna Plank, 86, of rural Arthur
passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at the family residence with
Bishop Amos Bontrager officiating. Burial was in Yoder Cemetery in
rural Arthur. Visitation was anytime before the funeral at the family
residence, Edwards Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Plank was born February 20, 1924, in Arthur. She was a daughter of
Andrew L, and Lydia (Schrock) Mast. She married Joni Plank on December
7, 1944, in Arthur. He survives.
Also surviving are four children, Carolyn Plank of Arthur, Rosmary
Yoder and husband Eli of Arcola, Sara Mae Stutzman and husband Ervin of
Sullivan, and Marlin J. Plank and wife Edna Fern of Arthur; 27
grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren: one brother, Fred Mast and wife
Mary of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania; one sister, Sovilla Gingerich and
husband Elva of Arthur; two sisters-in-law, Lois Mast of Carmi and Mary
Ann Mast of Arthur; and one brother-in-law, Abe Gingerich of
Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-granddaughter,
Sharon Yoder; four brothers, William, Jonas, Levi, and Joe Mast; and
two sisters, Sarah Gingerich and Rebecca Hochstedler.
Mrs. Plank was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Faith.

Jonas J. Plank, 83, of Arthur
passed away at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, August 8, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Otto
Center in rural Arthur with Bishop Marion Miller officiating. Burial
will be in Otto Cemetery. Visitation was any time prior to the funeral
at the Otto Center. Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Plank was born June 10, 1927, in Plain City, Ohio. He was a son of
John C. and Clara Helmuth Plank. He married Gertie Yutzy on October 14,
1948, in Arthur. She survives.
Also surviving are six children, Louise Kauffman and husband Dale of
Arthur, Millie Otto and husband Erwin of Arthur, Ferne Herschberger of
Arthur, Barbara Gingerich and husband Elmer of Sullivan, Marx Jay Plank
and wife Cathy of Arthur, and LaDonna Schrock and husband Dennis of
Arthur; a brother, Andy Plank of Michigan; 17 grandchildren; and 29
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, seven brothers,
one son-in-law, two grandsons, and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Plank was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Plank, Lena B. Yoder, 91, of Arthur died at 10:30 a.m. Friday,
July 16, 2010, at the Ira Plank residence.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Ira Plank residence.
Visitation was held Saturday afternoon, July 17. Burial was in Yoder
Cemetery, Arthur. Arrangements were made by McMullin-Young Funeral
Home, Sullivan.
Mrs. Plank was born October 31, 1918, in Arthur. She was the daughter
of Ben C. and Katie F. (Yoder) Yoder. She married Lonnie Plank on
December 7, 1939, in Douglas County. He preceded her in death on April
22, 1944.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish.
She is survived by her son, Ira Plank and his wife Verna of Arthur, and
a daughter, Lorene Miller and her husband Menno of Arcola; 15
grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.

Plank, Mildred Geneva Wenger, 93, of Harrisonburg, passed away
at 2:25 Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2010, at Oak Lea Nursing Home.
A daughter of the late Oscar E. and Bessie Heatwole Wenger, she was
born on Sept. 21, 1916, in Rockingham County and graduated from Eastern
Mennonite School. Mrs. Plank had formerly made her home in Mesa, Ariz.,
for 16 years and Scottdale, Pa., for 28 years prior to returning to
Harrisonburg in 1987. She was a member of the Lindale Mennonite Church.
Her special ministry in life was her concern for others, as witnessed
by countless friends she entertained and the handwritten letters and
notes to friends in their times of joy and sorrow. She lived her life
in a spirit of generosity, in the hospitality of shared food and
friendship, and above all, in her love of God and family.
On Nov. 24, 1938, she married Marvin D. Plank, who preceded her in
death on Sept. 22, 1988.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Plank Hurst and husband, Tim, of
Scottdale, Pa., and Goldie Plank Kuhns and husband, Lloyd, of Akron,
Pa.; two sons, Kenneth J. Plank and wife, Eloise, of Hagerstown, Md.,
and Sanford R. Plank and wife, Mary Ann, of Timnath, Colo.; 10
grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by a sister, Edith V. Wenger, and two brothers,
Linden M. and Raymond H. Wenger.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday,
Jan. 10, at Lindale Mennonite Church. Funeral services will begin at
2:30 p.m. with Pastor Peg Engle and Chaplain Shirlee K. Yoder
officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
