Laber, Lori Koch, 68, of Middlebury, Indiana died July 31, 2008
at Elkhart, Indiana. She was born September 30, 1939 at Fort
Morgan, Colorado to Alex and Esther (Schleiger) Koch. On June 1,
1958 at Denver, Colorado she was married to Ed Laber, who was born May
15, 1938 and survives.
Surviving are children, Tami (Tim) Calhoun, Robin (Michael) Schwerin,
Krys (Mark) Malin, and 5 grandchildren.
Her parents, a son, Mark Laber, a brother, Ray Koch, and a sister, Pat
Stricker preceded her in death.
Lori served as a secretary for school systems in Illinois and
Michigan. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury,
where she was a Stephen Minister. She was also a volunteer for
Habitat for Humanity, was active in GAIN (Global Aid Network),
Transworld Radio, and CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship).
Memorial services were held August 4, 2008 at First Mennonite Church,
Middlebury, Indiana with burial in Foothills Cemetery, Longmont,
Colorado.

Laird, Mary Louise Ford, 80, of Orrville, Ohio died August 20,
2008. She was born April 17, 1928 to William and Gladys (Mowry)
Ford and was married to John William Laird.
Surviving are children, Rodney Allen Laird, Jackie Laird Cole (daughter
in law)
2 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Home, Lancaster, PA. formerly of Elizabethtown, PA. She was born in
Elizabethtown, PA to Frank and Amanda Ebersole Landis. She was the wife
of Clyde H. Lamp who died in 1989.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara & Marvin Brubaker,

Landis, Anna S. Leakway, formerly of Manheim, PA died June 3,
2008 at the Mennonite Home, She was born 1917 in Lancaster, PA to
Murray A. and Jane Smith Leakway. One day following her 91st
birthday. She was the widow of John S. Landis who died on May 11,
2008.
A member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church, where she was the
head of the woman's sewing circle for 22 years. She was also a member
of the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society, and was an active
volunteer with Hans Herr House.
Surviving are two sons, John L. married to Doris Esbenshade Landis and
David L. married to Lois Bomberger Landis, both of Lancaster, PA; a
daughter Mary Ann married to Dale M. Ogburn of Shippensburg, PA; 7
grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 14 step
grandchildren; and a sister Catherine L. Miller of Lancaster, PA.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lucinda L. Dise, a great
granddaughter Elissa Dise, and a sister Helen Leakway.
Funeral service was June 9, 2008 at the East Petersburg Mennonite
Church,. Interment was in the East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery, East
Petersburg, PA

Landis,
John S., 93, of Manheim, PA died May 11, 2008 at The Mennonite
Home, Lancaster, PA from old age. He was born February 14, 1915
at Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA to John J. Nora S. (Stauffer)
Landis. He was married to Anna S. Leakway, who survives.
Surviving are children, John L. and spouse, Doris Esbenshade Landis;
David L. and spouse, Lois Bomberger Landis; Mary Ann and spouse, Dale
M. Ogburn;
7 grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 14
step-great-grandchildren, a brother, Benjamin S. and spouse, Marian
Landis; and a foster sister, Eleanor Nauman.
One grandchild, one sister, Ruth Sauder, and three brothers, Earl S.,
Abram S. and Norman S. Landis preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held May 15, 2008 at East Petersburg Mennonite
Church, East Petersburg, PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
He was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Lantz,
Roberta Bontrager, 95, of Goshen died June 30, 2008 at Goshen,
Elkhart County, Indiana after a period of failing health. She was
born October 25 1912 at LaGrange County, Indiana to Rolin and Nellie
(Bontrager) Bontrager. On March 6, 1931 at South Bend, St. Joseph
County, IN she was married to Paul LeRoy Lantz, who was born January
14, 1910 and died October 31 2003.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Miller, Goshen, IN; two sons Robert
(Gloria) Lantz, New Paris, IN and Ray (Fyrne) Lantz, Middlebury, IN,
eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a foster sister, Betty
(Bill) Schlabach Hite.
A sister, Thelma Yoder and a brother, Orvan Bontrager preceded her in
death.
Roberta was a homemaker, businesswoman and pastor's wife who served
along with her husband Paul at several congregations in Pennsylvania
and Ohio. She was a pianist and served as church organist at
Clinton Frame Mennonite Church for many years.
Memorial services were held July 3, 2008 at Clinton Frame Mennonite
Church, Goshen, Elkhart County, IN with burial in Gracelawn Cemetery,
Middlebury, Elkhart County, Indiana.

Lapp, Leroy S., 88, of Parkesburg, PA died September 10, 2008 at
Lancaster, Lancaster Co, PA from congestive heart failure. He was
born August 17, 1920 at Gap, Lancaster Co, PA to Samuel F. and Susie
(Lantz) Lapp. On April 17, 1947 he was married to Lucy N. Miller,
who was born March 29, 1922 and survives.
Surviving are children, Mary Etta wife of Linford King, Mel M. &
Pam Lapp, Jay & Pat Lapp, Carl & Judy Lapp, 12 grandchildren,
10 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Miriam Petersheim and Susie
Glick.
A daughter, Louise Ann, a grandson, Derek Lapp and siblings: Jonas,
John, Samuel, Isacc, Emanuel, Amos, Jonathan, Christ, Melvin Lapp,
Lydia King and Elizabeth Stoltzfus preceded him in death.
Leroy enjoyed hunting, fishing and travel. He was a painting
contractor.

Lapp Lucy N. Miller, 86, of Parkesburg died December 16, 2008 at
Lancaster, Pa from congestive heart failure. She was born
March 29, 1922 at Goshen, Indiana to Nathaniel P. and Mary J.
(Miller) Miller. On April 17, 1947 she was married to Leroy S.
Lapp, who was born August 17, 1920 and died September 10. 2008.
Surviving are children, Marry Etta wife of Linford King, Mel M. husband
of Pam Eby Lapp, Jay husband of Patricia Fisher Lapp, Carl R. husband
of Juny Morris Lapp, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Louise Ann Lapp, a grandson, Derek Lapp and all her
siblings, Atlee, Sylvia, Henry, Phillip, Jonas, Nathaniel Jr., William,
Lee Miller, Lydia Yoder, Nora Schlabach, Fannie Schrock, and Mary Yoder
preceded her in death.

Esther A.
Esther A. Lauver, 88, of Mechanicsburg, [PA], passed away Tuesday,
January 15, 2008 at Messiah Village [Mechanicsburg, PA]. Miss Lauver
was born in Shiremanstown, [PA] on January 7, 1920, the daughter of the
late Jacob G. and Amanda (Weaver) Lauver.
She was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Class of 1938 and
Central PA Business College. Esther was a dedicated member of the Slate
Hill Mennonite Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and
Church Librarian and sang Soprano in the Grantham Oratorio.
She is survived by two nieces, Lois Zimmerman and Shirley Lauver; 7
nephews, Eugene, Richard, Robert, Michael, Barry and Wayne Lauver, and
John Lauver, Jr. Funeral services were held in Slate Hill Mennonite
Church [Camp Hill, PA] on Friday, January 18, 2008, with Rev. W. Lynn
Shertzer officiating. Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery.

Leaman, George W., 101, of
Lititz, PA (formerly of Mt. Joy, PA)
died May 1, 2008 at Landis Homes, Lititz, PA. He was born June 17, 1906
in Lancaster, PA to George and Amelia (Walter) Leaman. His wife was
Grace (Garber) Leaman, died in 1988.
He was a member of Mt. Joy Mennonite Church, where he was a former
deacon. A mission worker, he was involved in summer and winter Bible
school in northern PA. George was the first administrator of
Landis
Homes, serving from 1964 until 1978.
He is survived by his nephew, Peter R. Leaman of Gloucester, VA, whom
he helped raise, three sisters, Ada Leaman, Myrtle Leaman, and Irene
Leaman, all of Landis Homes, and several nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers,
John and Samuel Leaman and two sisters, Anna Leaman and Mary Myers.
Funeral service was May 6. 2008 at Bethany West Chapel, Landis Homes,
Lititz. PA with Rev. Joseph Sherer and Chaplain Donald Good
officiating. Interment was in Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery, Mt. Joy, PA

W. Kenneth, 91, of Frazer, PA died June 28, 2008 at Frazer,
Chester Co., PA after suffering a stroke.
He was born January 12, 1917 near Jacksonville, Clay Co., FL to Albert
Benjamin and Saloma Ann (Zook) Leasa. Albert was born August 22,
1883 and died July 12, 1975. Saloma was born November 11, 1881
and died October 14, 1975.
On November 8, 1947 at Frazer, Chester Co., PA he was married to Betty
Brackbill, who was born September 5, 1925 and died March 23, 2004.
Surviving are children, K. Varden Leasa & wife Marie, Paula Warren
& husband Brad, Stephen K. Leasa & wife April, eight
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Thelma Leasa, Bertha Stutzman & husband Glen, Lucille
Chaffin & husband Frank preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held July 2, 2008 at Frazer Mennonite Church,
Frazer, Chester Co., PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Lee, Norman
Norman Lee, 68, of Tuscola passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday,
April 17, 2008, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Edwards Funeral Home in
Arcola. Burial was [in] Tuscola Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday and
one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Mr. Lee was born August 27, 1939, in Dover, Delaware. He was a son of
Elmer and Saloma (Wengard) Lee. He married Edna (Beachy) on January 24,
1979. She survives.
Also surviving are seven sons, Michael Lee of Spring City, Tennessee,
Nathan Lee and wife Tina of Atwood, Nolan Lee and wife Cindy of Arthur,
Shawn Lee and wife Jennifer of Evansville, Indiana, James Lee and wife
Regina of Toledo, Matthew Lee of Arlington Heights, and David Lee and
wife Amie of Tuscola; two daughters, Marcia Spear and husband Bobby of
Arcola and Joyce Lee of Peoria; 20 grandchildren, Andrew Spear and
fiancé Reneé and Crystal Spear, Lita and William Lee,
Nathaniel, Wesley, Caleb, Melissa, and Cassandra Lee, Jared, Courtney,
Lucas, and Emma Lee, Nicholas, Benjamin, Joshua, and Katherine Lee, and
Bryona, Chloe, and Elizabeth Lee; one great granddaughter, Mackenzie
Spear; three brothers, John Lee of Arcola, Ernest Lee and wife Sovilla
of Madison, Virginia, and Daniel Lee and wife Betty of Dover, Delaware;
five sisters, Mary Hickman of Dover, Lydia Wakeland and husband Don of
Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Ivy Beachy and husband Albert of Arcola, Olive

Barbara Lewis and husband Alvin of Cumberland, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Noah, David,
and Joseph Lee; and two sisters, Rachel Lee and Matilda Hutchins.
Norman was a retired baker and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge No.
742 of Arthur. He loved being with his beloved wife, children, and
their families and friends. He loved country music and the
Saturday Night Dance with all the
friends.

Leer, Ira J., 91, of Middlebury, Indiana died December 16, 2008
at Goshen, Indiana. He was born February 5, 1917 at Elkhart
County, Indiana to Elvin and Macy (Yoder) Leer. On June 21, 1997
in Elkhart County, Indiana he was married to Leota (Pletcher) Miller,
who was born April 2, 1919 and survives.
Ira was first married to Grayce Lambright on May 3, 1942. She
died on July 20, 1995.
Surviving are 3 stepdaughters: Patricia (Earl) Eicher, Margaret Ann
(Alton) Miller, Diane Sue (Elmer) Stealy, 2 granddaughters, 12
step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 23 step-great-grandchildren,
a sister, Frances Bollman, and a brother, Richard (Rea) Leer.
A son, Myron J. Leer, two sisters, Mabel Myers, and Ruth Johnson, and
three brothers, Clayton Leer, Tom Leer, and Stanley Leer preceded him
in death.
Ira was a farmer and worked at Lambright's Hatchery, LaGrange. He
was a
member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury, who loved music and
enjoyed singing. He was known for his great ability for
memorizing Bible verses and poems.
Memorial services were held December 20, 2008 at Miller-Stewart Funeral
Home, Middlebury Indiana with burial in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana,
Indiana.

LeFever, Mary E. Hess, 86 formerly of Harrisburg, PA,died June
30, 2008 at Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz, PA She was born
in Warwick Twp., Lancaster Co., PA to John S. and Florence Brubaker
Hess.
She was the wife of Pastor Harold H. LeFever and they observed their
55th wedding anniversary in April of 2008. A member of Herr Street
Mennonite Church, Harrisburg, PA and assisted in her husband's ministry
there.
Surviving is her husband and three sons, Dale H. husband of Dorothy
Keeport LeFever, of Middletown, PA; David G. LeFever, of Lititz, PA;
Alan R. husband of Gwenn Flickenger LeFever, of Manheim, PA; two
daughters, Jean M. wife of James A. Miller, of John Day, Oregon; Lois
A. wife of Louis H. Martin, of Middletown, PA; eleven grandchildren,
twenty-four great grandchildren, a sister, Arlene Turman, of
Mechanicsburg, PA and a brother, John E. husband of Patsy Hess, of
Lititz, PA.
Mary was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Rachel LeFever, two
sisters, Anna Mae Brubaker, Mabel Lauver, and two brothers, Richard and
James Hess.
Funeral service was July 6, 2008 at WEST Bethany Chapel, at Landis
Homes Retirement Community, Lititz, PAwith Pastor Edward Zook
officiating. Interment will be held in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery,
Rapho Twp, Lancaster Co., PA.

Lehman, Addison E., 94, of Goshen, IN died August 10, 2008 at
Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN. He was born November 3, 1913 at Beaver
Falls, Lewis Co. NY to Christian K. and Mary B. (Zehr) Lehman. On
June 11, 1941 at New
Bremen, Lewis Co., NY he was married to Mary L. Zehr, who was born May
12, 1922 and survives.
Surviving are children, Karl (Elaine) Lehman, Robert (Marla) Lehman,
Joseph Lehman, Chris (Marilyn) Lehman, Barry (Janet Yousey) Lehman,
Charles (Carol) Lehman, 23 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.
His parents and siblings: Benjamin, John, Samuel N., Mabel (Mrs.
Benjamin Martin), Ellen (Mrs. John Widrick), Erwin, Adah (Mrs. Reuben
Lyndaker), Katherine (Mrs. Leon Widrick), Norman, William, Mary (Mrs.
Seth Lehman), and Michael A. preceded him in death.
In addition to farming, Mr. Lehman was employed for 47 years by
Uniroyal/Boise Cascade (Latex Fiber Industries) in Beaver Falls, N.Y.
He was also employed by Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Co., and he was a
director with Mennonite Aid Union. Mr. Lehman was a charter member of
First Mennonite Church of New Bremen, where he was an elder and a
Sunday school teacher for many years. In 1997 the Lehmans moved to
Greencroft Retirement Community in Goshen, IN, to be closer to their
sons and their families.
Memorial services were held August 13, 2008 at Waterford Mennonite
Church, Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN with burial in Little Pine Cemetery,
Elkhart, Elkhart Co., IN.

Lehman, Daniel Ernest, 76, of West Liberty, Ohio died there on
October 18, 2008, after an illness. He was born January 22, 1932
in Logan County, Ohio to Daniel E. and Ruth (Baumgartner) Lehman.
On August 24, 1958 at West Liberty, Logan County, Ohio he was married
to Shirley Yoder.
Surviving are his wife, a son, David (Ruth) Lehman, eight
grandchildren, a brother, Joel A. (Donna) Lehman, and four sisters,
Hilda (Wilfred) Yoder, Mary Yoder, Ruth Ann Lehman, and Phyllis Jaquet.
A brother-in-law, J. Sam Yoder preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held October 24, 2008 at South Union Mennonite
Church, West Liberty, Ohio with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Nathan D. Lehman, age 36, of 356 Colorado St., P.O. Box 100, Marion, PA. died at 5:36 A.M. on Thursday, June 19, 2008 in his home.
Born, March 8, 1972 in Chambersburg, PA. he is the son of Clifford E. and June E. (Timmons) Lehman of Marion, PA.
Mr. Lehman is a member of the Mercersburg Mennonite Church, Mercersburg, PA. and the Kauffman Ruritan Club, Chambersburg, PA. He is a 1993 high school graduate of the Franklin Learning Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Surviving family in addition to his parents are, two brothers, John A. Lehman and Bradley S. Lehman both of Greencastle, PA.; paternal grandmother, Rhoda (Horst) Lehman of Chambersburg, PA.; brother-in-law, Daryl Hunsecker of Greencastle, PA.; three nephews, four nieces; several cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Diann Lehman Hunsecker; maternal grandparents, Newton & Nancy (Ebersole) Timmons; and paternal grandfather, Melvin Lehman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. from the Mercersburg Mennonite Church, 10060 Buchanan Trail West, Mercersburg, PA. with Pastors Allen Eshleman, Lloyd Gingrich, and David Possinger officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Willis Swartz, 94, of Bedminster, PA died March 9, 2008 at
Souderton, Montgomery Co., PA. He was born September 3, 1913 in
Bedminster Twp., Bucks Co., PA to Samuel and Ella (Swartz)
Leatherman.
On May 1,1937 he was married first to Edith Rush who died on June 2,
1984. He was married second on February 15, 1986 to Pearl A.
Greiser, who died on July 29, 2002.
Surviving are 3 sons: Edward L,& wife, Carol of Perkasie; Arlin M.

Leichty,
David Franklin, Jr., 74, of Goshen, IN died May 18, 2008 at
Goshen, IN from a head injury when he fell. He was born
September 10, 1933 at Urbana, OH to David Franklin and Helen Dorothy
(Yoder) Leichty, Sr. On September 1, 1957 at Goshen, IN he was
married to Carolyn Grace Yoder, who was born July 14, 1939 and
survives.
Surviving are children, Diane (Gari) Lewandowski, Pamela (Michael)
Allen,
Linda (Brent) Snyder, 7 grandchildren, a brother, Warren Leichty; a
sister Genevieve (Earl) Schwartzentruber; a sister, Delia (Ed) Herr;
and a sister, Evelyn (Michael) Hostetler.
A brother, Samuel Leichty, and a sister, Katherine Mullet preceded him
in death.
David was a sales representative for U.S. Foods for 28 years. He
liked wood carving, restoring antiques, and caring for birds.

Leichty,
Helen Dorothy Yoder, 97, of Goshen died March 31, 2008 at
Goshen, Elkhart County, Indaina from coronary artery disease.
She was born December 12, 1910 at West Liberty, Logan County, Ohio to
Jacob G. and Iva Grace (Yoder) Yoder. Jacob was born in 1887 and
died October 17 1911. Iva was born July 20, 1886 and died
December 29, 1960
On June 28, 1931 at Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio she was married
to David Franklin Leichty, who was born August 18, 1906 and died March
1, 1988.
Surviving are children, Genevieve (Earl) Schwartzentruber; Delia
(Edward) Herr;
Warren Leichty; Evelyn (Michael) Hostetler; David Franklin Leichty Jr.
(Carolyn) [David Died May 18, 2008]; 17 grandchildren, and 34
great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is Maxine (Yoder) Laing (half sister through second
marriage of Iva Grace to J. Arch Yoder) on Feb 14, 1924.
A son, Samuel Benjamin Leichty (infant) 1944, a daughter, Katherine Lou
(Leichty) Mullett 1978, and two brothers, Philip E. Yoder, and August
Calvin Yoder preceded her in death.
Helen attended Goshen College two years. They lived in West Liberty, OH
until they moved to Goshen, IN in 1955. Her participation in church,
women's activities, and in the community were meaningful to her. She
worked at the Goshen College switchboard for more than 10 years, and as
a volunteer at Goshen Hospital. She was a gracious hostess, made
friends easily and was young at heart, loved her family, and will
always be remembered for her "warm smile." She was known for her many
creative crafts, handwork, and quilts.
Memorial services were held April 19, 2008 at College Mennonite Church,
Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN with burial in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, IN.

Lichti,
Elsie Anna Heer, 88, of Reedley, CA died April 3, 2008 at
Reedley, CA from pneumonia. She was born July 13, 1919 at
Estrella, CA to Christian and Alvena Heer. On November 1, 1946 at
Estrella, CA she was married to Herb Lichti who was born June 16, 1922
and survives.
Surviving are children, Fran and Ted Loewen, Jim Lichti, and Christie
Lichti, and four grandchildren.
A son, Irvin James and two brothers, Alfred Heer and Irvin Heer
preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held April 12, 2008 at First Mennonite Church,
Reedley, CA with burial in Reedley Cemetery, Reedley, CA.
She was a member of Mennonite Church USA.

Lind, Jerold O'Neil, died in Evanston, Illinois July 12, 2008
after a long term illness of cancer.
Born September 28th, 1943 in Newton, Kansas to Ivan and Ethel
(Ebersole) Lind, Jerry grew up in Hesston, Kansas. He graduated from
the Hesston Academy in 1961, and from Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana
in 1965, received a Master's Degree in Teaching from Vanderbilt
University, Nashville, Tenn. in 1970, and earned his PhD in psychology
from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 1989.
Jerry was married to Marcia (Yoder) Lind for 37 years, raising three
children, Greta Lind of Bloomington, Indiana; Michael Lind of East
Chicago, Indiana; and Mary Lind of Portland, Oregon. He had three
grandchildren, Anthony and Quinn Pizzo, and William Mokrzycki-Lind.
Jerry is also survived by his mother, Ethel Lind of Hesston, Kansas and
three brothers, Kermit, Don and Ralph.
At the time of his death, Jerry was living in Evanston with his loving
partner, Gretchen Brewster, and practicing as a psychologist.
A memorial service will be held at the Evanston Unitarian Church at 10
am on Saturday, August 9. His life will also be celebrated at his
mother's birthday and family reunion on September 21st. in Hesston,
Kansas. Jerry will be greatly missed by his partner, family, friends,
colleagues and patients.

Lind, Miriam Sieber, 88, of Goshen, IN died August 24, 2008 at
Goshen from cancer. She was born July 19, 1920 at Filer, Idaho to
Charles and Bertha (Shoemaker) Sieber. On April 17, 1943 at
Goshen, IN she was married to Millard Charles Lind, who was born
October 10, 1918.
Surviving are her husband, children: Dan (Anne) Lind; Matthew (Kathy)
Lind; Dirk Vardaman; Jonathan (Anda) Lind; Timothy (Suzanne) Lind;
James (Kate) Lind; Sarah (James Rhem) Lind; 18 grandchildren, 9
great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Elizabeth Hernley and Ruth Reist.
Miriam's greatest passion was the raising of her seven children and the
nurturing of her grandchildren and many friendships. In addition,
she had a life-long love for writing. For many years she authored
the monthly columns, "Hill Journal" and "On the Corner," in the
Mennonite Church periodical "Christian Living." She also
published several books and numerous articles and poems. Miriam
was closely associated with the the Association for the Disabled of
Elkhart County (ADEC) and worked as an ADEC home visitor, accompanying
parents of infants with disabilities through their child's first year
of life.
Memorial services were held August 31, 2008 at College Mennonite
Church, Goshen IN.

Lint, Charles E., Jr., 84, of Scottdale, PA died August 9, 2008
at Mt. Pleasant, PA. He was born December 3, 1923 at Mt.
Pleasant, PA to Charles E. and LuLu Belle (Tressler) Lint, Sr.
Surviving are sisters and brothers: Catherine Povlik, Martha Lint, Mary
Pologruto, James Lint, Donald Lint, Ruth Sirianni, Larry Lint, Daniel
Lint.
His parents preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held August 13, 2008 at Frank Kapr Funeral Home,
Scottdale, PA with burial in Pennsville Mennonite Cemetery, Everson,

Litwiller, Elsie Susan Egli, 96, of Kalona, IA died February 6, 2008. She was born March 30, 1911 in Manson, IA, to C. B. and Emma Grimm Egli. Elsie and Chancy Litwiller were united in marriage on August 11, 1937, in Manson. The couple moved to the Kalona area so their children would have the opportunity to attend Iowa Mennonite School. They remained strong supporters of the school all their lives. She was a member of East Union Mennonite Church.
Elsie is survived by two sons; Francis and wife Phyllis of Kalona and Keith of Washington. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Jon and Becky Litwiller, Tim and Denise Litwiller, Matt and Heather Litwiller, Andrea and Mike Leyden, Amy and Brian Miller, and Chad Litwiller; eleven great grandchildren; Jason, Jacayla, Justin Litwiller, Tanner, Trever and Travis Leyden, Victoria and Joey, Max, Henry and Anna Litwiller.
One sister Ida Egli of Kalona survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chancy March 28,2003, a son Cecil, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Litwiller and eleven siblings; Amon, Joe, Lewis, Emery Egli, Maude Swartzendruber, John, Sam, Lawrence, Jess, Rosette, and Stan Egli.
Celebration of Life service was February 9, 2008 at the East Union Mennonite Church, Kalona, IA with Pastor Jay Miiller, Pastor David L. Yoder with Interment in the East Union Cemetery, Kalona, Iowa.

Loewen, Edith Frances Claassen, 95, of Newton, KS died November
1, 2008 at Hesston, Kansas. She was born August 18, 1913 at
Elbing, Kansas to John and Mary (Ensz) Claassen. On October 9,
1950 at Newton, Kansas she was married to Henry R. Loewen, who died in
1984.
Surviving are a daughter, Jan Landis (Mike) of Goshen, Indiana, a son,
Craig of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a
sister, Dorothy Study, Moundridge, Kansas, and two sisters-in-law,
Marie Claassen and Dorothy Claassen.
Two brothers, Eric Claassen and Harold Claassen, and a granddaughter,
Jara R. Loewen preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held November 22, 2008 at Shalom Mennonite
Church, Newton, Kansas. The remains were donated to The
University of Kansas Medical Center.
