Eberly, Betty Ann Heatwole, 57, a resident of 1307 Muddy Creek
Road, Harrisonburg, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at her home. She had
been in failing health.
Mrs. Eberly was born on March 23, 1952, in Dayton, and was a daughter
of the late John V. and Alice Rohrer Heatwole.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite
Church.
On Oct. 4, 1972, she married Willis R. Eberly, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Joyce Horst and husband, Galen,
Lydia Good and husband, Ross, all of Dayton, Annette Horst and husband,
Steven, Dorthy Good and husband, Aaron, all of Harrisonburg; one son,
Norlyn Eberly and wife, Barbara, of Harrisonburg; four sisters, Wanda
Shank and husband, Harold, of Bridgewater, Susan Wenger and husband,
Alvin, of Mount Crawford, Ruth Rhodes and husband, Nolan, of
Harrisonburg; Doris Rohrer and husband, Eldon, of Dayton; two brothers,
Kenneth Heatwole and wife, Mary, of Harrisonburg, Ray Lynn Heatwole and
wife, Lucille, of Dayton; nine granddaughters and nine grandsons.
Bishop Marion Wenger and ministers of the church will conduct a funeral
service on Friday, March 12, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant View
Old Order Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Her body has been taken to her home, where friends may call until 7:30
Thursday evening.

Eberly, Ivan R., 78, of 269 Yellow Hill Rd., Narvon, died
Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at his home. He is survived by his wife,
Miriam S. (Zimmerman) Eberly. Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the
late Phares and Annie (Rissler) Eberly. He was a retired farmer and a
member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 10 children: Ruth married to
Menno Shirk, Latham, MO; Sarah married to Henry Leid, Elkton, KY; James
married to Mary Eberly, Dundee, NY; David married to Irene Eberly,
Dundee, NY; Elva married to James Martin, Narvon; Lucy married to
Edward Hoover, Dundee, NY; Ivan married to Miriam Eberly, Penn Yan, NY;
Marvin married to Kathryn Eberly, Penn Yan, NY; Alma married to Mervin
Martin, Riceville, IA and Miriam married to Elvin Martin, New Holland;
67 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister Mary married to Ivan
Hoover, Shippensburg; and two brothers: Phares married to Ella Eberly,
Withee, WI and John Eberly, TN.
He was preceded in death by four grandchildren; a sister Alice Martin
and a brother Jonas Eberly.
His funeral will be held on Monday, October 18 at 9 AM at the home of
James Martin with further services at 9:30 AM at Bowmansville Mennonite
Church with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the
adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the home of James
Martin, 1190 Oaklyn Dr., Narvon on Sunday from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM.

Lloyd B. Eberly,
87, Orrville, passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 4, 2010, at his home
following a period of declining health.
He was born in Orrville on April 10, 1923, to the late Clayton and
Carry (Burkhart) Eberly and married Dorothy Martin on Oct. 8, 1944. She
died Oct. 26, 1951. In August 1954, he married Mary Imhoff. She
survives.
He accepted Christ in his youth and was a member of Valley View
Mennonite Church at the time of his death.
He is also survived by children Clifford and Lydia Eberly of Barwick,
Ont., Canada, Eugene and Ann Eberly of Loyal, Wis., Wayne and Marcia
Eberly of Goshen, Ind., Mark and Sandra Eberly of Clay Pool, Ind.,
Martha, Sarah and Roy Eberly, all of the home; 21 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters Albert Eberly of Roanoke,
Ill., Dr. Wain Eberly of Dalton, Edna Eberly of Rittman, Dorothy (Carl)
Steiner of Stratton, Ontario, Canada, Homer Eberly of Orrville, John

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the County Line
Mennonite Church with the Valley View Ministry officiating. Burial will
be in the County Line Mennonite Church Cemetery. Friends may call
Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the East Union Mennonite Church near
Orrville.

16, 2010 from the result of a farm accident. Born October 22, 2007 in
Lancaster County, PA; she was a daughter of Timothy J. and Ruth B. Nolt
Eberly.
In addition to her parents she is survived by four brothers; Javon,
Steven, Cyrus, and Ronald Eberly, one sister, Hope Frishman, paternal

Ebersole, Lorrain J. Good, 61, of Ephrata, entered into rest at
her home on Thursday, November 4, 2010. Born in Bowmansville, she was
the daughter of the late Amos B. and Viola (Good) Good and was the wife
of Thomas C. Ebersole. They were married 42 years this past July.
She attended Speedwell Heights Church where she was an active church
participant. Lorrain was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle
Association and she loved riding her own motorcycle. An avid reader,
bargain hunter and gardener, she especially loved her three
grandchildren. She worked at Fulton Financial.
In addition to her husband, Lorrain is survived by two daughters:
Heidi, wife of Dennis Stauffer; and Melissa, wife of Bradley Burg. Also
surviving are her three beloved grandchildren: Sophia, Cecilia and
Carter. Surviving as well are her siblings: Rosene, wife of Keller
Sensenig; Amos, husband of Arlene Good; Viola, wife of Robert
Hostetter; Carl, husband of Lydia (Stoltzfus) Good; and Charlotte, wife
of Alvin Burkholder.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Marlin and Darrel Good.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Wednesday, November 10th at
the Speedwell Heights Church, 413 W. Brubaker Valley Rd., Lititz,

65, of 5871 Buchanan Trail West, Mercersburg, passed away at 12:02 a.m.
Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at her home following a nearly four-year battle
with cancer. Born July 28, 1944, in Washington County, Md., she was the
daughter of the late Elmer and Edna (Peck) Strite. She was a homemaker
and a member of the Strasburg Mennonite Church near Chambersburg, Pa.
She and her husband, Lester E. Eby, were married Aug. 19, 1965.
Surviving family in addition to her husband are four daughters, Lavone
D. Kreider, East Berlin, Pa., Lanita D. Kuhns, Ghent, N.Y., Leanne D.
Martin,
Hagerstown, Md., and Leona D. Rhodes, Patriot, Ohio; four sons, Lynn D.
Eby, Pendleton N.C., Lewayne D. Eby, Gettysburg, Pa., Levin D. Eby,

Eicher, Elta Vinetta North, 92, of Sarasota, FL died December
15, 2010 at the same place. She was born January 20, 1918 at
Nappanee, IN to Homer Franklin and Bertha Inez (Bechtal) North.
On February 17, 1940 she was married to Olen Leander Eicher, who was
born March 14, 1910 and died April 28, 1991.
Surviving are children, Jan Brunk, Caralee Eicher, and Alice (Jared)
Massanari, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a brother, Wayne
North (Doris).
A memorial service for Elta V. Eicher will be held January 17, at 2:30
PM in the Eicher Auditorium at Sunnyside Village, 5209 Bahia Vista
Street in Sarasota, Florida.
Elta was born January 20, 1918, in Nappanee, Indiana, to Homer and
Bertha North. She died at age 92 at in the gentle care of Sunnyside
Nursing Facility. She was married to Olen Eicher in 1940 and briefly
resided in Archbold, Ohio, before moving with their very young family
to Sarasota in 1944 to farm celery.
Elta was a full-time homemaker with brief employment as a telephone
operator. She assisted in the family business, Bil-Jax Scaffolding
Rental Equipment. She was a gifted musician, participating with music
programs, first at Bayshore Mennonite Church where she and Olen were
charter members; then at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, where her
membership remained until her death.
Preceding Elta in death were her husband, Olen, granddaughter,
Michelle, grandson, Caleb. Surviving are her brother, Wayne North
(Doris) of Harrisonburg, VA, daughters Jan Brunk of Asheville, NC,
Caralee Eicher of Roanoke, VA and Alice Massanari (Jared) of Asheville,
NC. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ingrid Brunk Wuerth, Andrew
Brunk , Nicole Litwiller, Adrienne Massanari and six great
grandchildren.
Donations in honor of Elta's memory may be made to Sunnyside

died at 2:15 p.m. Friday.
She was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Yoder, Kan., to Andrew I. and Katie
(Bontrager) Chupp.
She married John S. Eicher Sept. 26, 1946 in Shipshewana. He died July
23, 2009.
She is survived by four sisters, Dema (John) Mishler, Bridgeville,
Del., Ann Yoder, Moses Lake, Wash., Katie (Paul) Swartzentruber,
Kaloma, Iowa, and Emma D. Chupp, Goshen; and a brother, Andrew (Dema)
Chupp, Dayton, Ore.
She was preceded in death by both parents; three brothers, Levi,
Benjamin and Isaac Chupp; and three sisters, Lizzie Jones, Mattie
Schrock and Drucilla Chupp.
The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Sunday and all day Monday
at the Orva E. Lehman home, 3755 W. 500 South, Topeka, where a funeral
service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Bishop LeRoy Troyer will
conduct the service.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange.

Eichorn, Virginia Rae, 87, of Grantsville, Garrett County,
Maryland died February 28,2010 at the same place. She was born
January 11, 1922 at Cumberland, Maryland and was married to Alvin B.
Eichorn, who is deceased.
Surviving are a son, Dwight Eichorn; two daughters, Donna Winters and
Janet Blocher; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, one
great-great-grandchild, two half-brothers, George and Charles Leith;
and a half-sister, Ora Mae Wilkes.
Four sons, Arthur, Leonard, Keith and Robert Eichorn; two grandsons,
John and Martin Eichorn, and a great-granddaughter, Kathleen Kay
Eichorn preceded her in death.

Eigsti, Agnes Weaver, 99, of Goshen, IN died February 16, 2010
at the same place. She was born October 10, 1910 at Goshen, IN to
Joseph H. and Anna (Stuzman) Weaver. On May 22, 1936 at Akron,
Ohio she was married to Orie J. Eigsti, who was born July 23, 1908 and
died May 3, 2003.
Surviving are two sons, Karl Weaver and Nicholas Weaver, three
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert
Weaver.
Agnes earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Goshen College in
1932. Because of her husband's work they lived in many places:
Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, NY; Norman, Oklahoma; and Evanston,
Normal, and Chicago, Ill. Agnes was head of the Parasitology
Laboratory at General Biological Supply House in Chicago before
retiring to the Weaver family farm, one mile east of Goshen. The
Eigstis were benefactors to Goshen College, donating the Eigsti Track
and Field Complex, and contributing to the construction of the Goshen
College Music Center. Agnes was also a benefactor to the Merry
Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen
College.

Eklich, Robert J., 36, of North Canton, OH died unexpectedly
October 5, 2010 at Canton, Stark Co., OH. He was born August 24,
1974 in Heilbronn, Germany to Frank and Mary Eklich, Sr. On
October 16, 2004 at Hartville, Stark Co., OH he was married to Maria
Sommers, who was born May 9, 1980 and survives.
Surviving besides his wife and parents are a four-year-old son, Kyle
Benjamin Eklich, a sister, Michelle, three brothers, Frank Jr., James
and Kelly, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben and Marie
Sommers of Hartville.

2010 at Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN from congestive heart disease.
He was born March 3, 1918 at Irvin Store, Kentucky to Enoch and Ruth
Ellen (Wilkerson) Emerson. Enoch was born June 24, 1887 and died
March 8, 1969. Ruth was born July 8, 1889 and died April 3, 1980.
On November 23, 1938 at Fisher, IL he was married to Mildred Genevieve
Heiser, who was born May 5, 1918 and died December 4, 1992.
Surviving are children, Ruth (James) Horsch, Mary Lou (Don) Kelley,
Anna Kay (Delbert) Friesen, Phyllis (John) Mishler, 9 grandchildren, 9
great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ruby Anderson.
A son, John, an infant granddaughter, and siblings, Spencer Emerson,
Bonnie Evans, Erie Evans, Eva Eads, and Eula Evans preceded him in
death.

Esbenshade, Lamar Roy, age 72 died on June 1, 2010 at his home
of the past 8 years in Waymart, PA. Lamar was born on November 29,
1937, in New Holland, PA, the eldest son of the 6 children of Aaron and
Ella (Weaver) Esbenshade.
Lamar is survived by his wife, Nancy Jane Esbenshade, and children,
Linda Bomberger, wife of David Bomberger, Lebanon, Fred Esbenshade,
husband of Donna (Garman), Lititz, Roger Esbenshade, husband of Melissa
(Charles), Lititz, Jodi Rodriguez wife of Julio Rodriquez, Guatemala,
Steve Esbenshade, husband of Kimberly (Abell), California, Scott

husband of Malina (Paugh), Ohio, Jose Esbenshade husband of Danielle

Mohnton, and 38 grandchildren. Lamar and Nancy celebrated a 50th
wedding anniversary September 12, 2009.
He is further survived by his mother, Ella Rutt, brothers Aaron
Esbenshade Jr. and Jacob Esbenshade, sisters Julia Disney, Joyce Peifer
and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Aaron Esbenshade and sister Joan
Swope.
Lamar loved building, gardening, water sports, hunting and fishing, but
most of all spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He
shared his success as a greenhouse business owner by serving numerous
church and community organizations. As a member of DOVE Christian
Fellowship he was serving as co-pastor to God's Mountain Fellowship
home church in Waymart. He was currently a member of the Carbondale
Chamber of Commerce, serving on the board of the Greater Carbondale
Community Development Corporation, and was an advisory to the AHDC. A
life-long passion was financial support of missions and traveling to
support missionary efforts in countries such as Africa, Argentina,
Brazil and Guatemala and here in Pennsylvania. Lamar was a past member
of the boards of Teen Challenge and House of His Creation. Arrangements

Eshleman, A. Viola Landis, 94, formerly of Lititz, entered into
rest at The United Zion Home, Warwick Township, on Monday, November 1,
2010. She was born in Denver, a daughter of the late William G. and
Elsie (Brubaker) Landis. She was the wife of the late Chester R.
Eshleman, who died in 1999.
Viola was a lifetime member of Bergstrasse Lutheran Church, Ephrata.
She worked for Luther Acres in the food service industry until retiring
in 1983. In early years, she volunteered at the Mt. Airy Fire Hall and
the Mt. Airy Chapel. She enjoyed cooking and family gatherings.
Surviving are her son, Earl R., husband of Sandra (Haldeman) Eshleman
of Lititz; 2 daughters, Fay Boyd, and Joyce, wife of Richard P. Good,
both of Lebanon; 9 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister,
Evelyn wife of Paul Michael of Brownstown; and foster brother, Adam,
husband of Joyce Ansel of Ephrata.

Fisher, Annie F. Blank, 96 of Gap, PA died December 22, 2010.
Born in Bareville, PA, daughter of the late John K. and Lizzie Fisher
Blank. She was the wife of the late Levi U. Fisher who passed away on
May 10, 2000. She was a member of the Gap View Mennonite Church.
Survived by Nancy B. Fisher of Bridgewater, VA, Allen B. husband of
Joan Seace Fisher of Todd, PA, David B. husband of Delores Eisenberger

She was a mother to several foster and Fresh Air children, as well as
host mother to several international students.

Fox, Lena Brubaker, 78, of 545 Saw Mill Road, East Earl, went
home to Jesus Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Lancaster Regional Medical
Center, following a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her
loving husband of 59 years, Harold G. Fox. Born in Jackson Twp.,
Lebanon Co., she was the daughter of the late Levi and Leah (Bauman)
Brubaker. She was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church. A homemaker,
Lena loved serving others, making goodies for her family and playing
games with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her husband; her daughters, Kay L.,
married to Timothy Weaver, East Earl, and Sherry L., married to Kenneth
Weaver, Ephrata; her sons, Terry L., married to Paula (Martin) Fox,
Mohnton, and Randy L., married to Arlene (Martin) Fox, Reinholds, 21
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth L., and Gary L. Fox,
four brothers and three sisters.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, at 9:30 a.m. at Martindale
Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Road, Ephrata. Interment will be in the
adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 1 - 3
p.m. and 6 -8 p.m. at the Church. Kindly omit flowers. If desired,
memorials may be given to Christian Aid Ministries, 2412 Division Hwy.,

Fox, Ruth E. Winey, 91, of Pequea, PA died May 6, 2010 at
Hospice of Lancaster County - Mt. Joy, PA. She was born 1918 in
Bareville, PA to Albert B. and Beulah (Graybill) Winey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel H. Fox, in 1986.
She was a member of Rheems Mennonite Church Rheems, PA.
Survivied by three daughters: Esther B. Fox, Pequea, PA; Millie Kilmer,
Jefferson City, MO; Beulah married to G. Scott Weston, Lancaster, PA;
six grandchildren: Lisa married to Chris Hartman, Ontario, Canada;
Christy married to Jason Schultz, Las Vegas, NV; Dani married to Brian
Warren, Campbell, CA; Justin married to Tammy Kilmer, California, MO;
Anthony Mall, New York City, NY; Andrew Mall, Lancaster; and six
great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was May 11, 2101 at the Centerville Mennonite
Church, Martindale, PA with Bishop Glenn Sensenig, James Kreider,
Mervin Martin, and Steven Zook officiating. Interment will be in New
Holland Mennonite Cemetery.

Frankhouser, Vernon S., 86, of Ronks, PA formerly of New
Holland, died December 23, 2010 at Lancashire Hall, Lancaster, PA. Born
in Paradise, PA to Daniel M. and Sophie (Strauss) Frankhouser. His
wife, Ruth A. (Townsley) Frankhouser, died in Dec. 24, 2006. He was a
member of Weaverland Mennonite Church and the Woodland Lodge in
Lycoming Co., PA.
Surviving is a son, Donald Frankhouser of Williamsport, PA; two
daughters, Mary, married to Bryan Nagle of Ephrata, PA and Carol Ann,
married to Jon Knosp of Ronks, PA; five grandchildren; seven great
grandchildren; a sister, Irene, married to G. Harold Zimmerman of
Akron, PA; and a brother, Glen Frankhouser of Lancaster, PA.
Preceding him in death is a son, Kenneth Frankhouser; a sister, Faye
Martin; and a brother, Diller S. Frankhouser.
Funeral service was December 27, 2010 Weaverland Mennonite Churhch with
the Bishop C. Kenneth Martin, the Reverend Brian Martin, and the
Reverend Leon Hurst officiating. Interment was in
Weaverland Menno nite Cemetery, East Earl, PA.

Frederick, Sara Lu Graber, 78, of Eugene, Lane Co., OR died
March 23, 2010 at the same place.
She was born February 7, 1932 at Wayland, Henry Co., IA to Joseph and
Barbara Ann (Rich) Graber. Joseph was born March 1, 1887 and died
in 1988. Barbara Ann was born August 17, 1891 and died in 1971.
She was married August 8, 1953 at Wayland, Iowa to Charles Richard
Frederick II, who was born July 12, 1925 and survives.
Surviving are children, Charles Richard Frederick Jr and wife Cynthia
Brubaker, Catherine F. Roth and husband Luke S. Roth, Christine Lu
Frederick and husband Tom F. Urban, Mary Jo Frederick and husband Doug
Reimer, Peter G. Frederick and wife Rebekah Stamp, 9
grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and four sisters, Rachel Wyse
of Wellman, IA; Berniece and Max Roth of Laguna Woods, CA; Lois
Swartzendruber of Wellman, IA; and Beulah Mae and Dale Swartzendruber
of Wayland, IA.
One sister, Welma Nelson (Mrs. Boyd Nelson); and four brothers, Raymond
Graber, Clarence Graber, Willis Graber, and Virgil Graber MD preceded
her in death.
She was an elementary school teacher, homemaker, and co-owner of Unto
Others, a gift store in Kalona, IA.
Memorial services were held May 2, 2010 at First Mennonite Church of
Iowa City, Wayland with burial in Sugar Creek Cemetery, Wayland, IA.

Freed, Elsie K. Kulp, 101, of Souderton, PA formerly of
Lansdale, died May 08, 2010, at Souderton Mennonite Homes. She was born
in Bedminster Twp., to Abram and Emma (Rohr) Kulp.
She was the wife of the late Ervin L. Freed.
She was an active lifetime member of Deep Run Mennonite Church West,
Perkasie, PA.
Survived by son, Ronald L. Freed of Lansdale, PA; granddaughter, Kim
Holsonback and husband, Bill, of Green Lane, PA; grandson, R. Todd
Freed of Colorado; great-granddaughter, Jennifer Holsonback, of

East Greenville, PA; and great-granddaughter, Madeline Freed, of
Lansdale, PA.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Hiram, Freeman and

Fretz, Asher Benner - 90, of Souderton, PA died December 20,
2010 at Lutheran Community at Telford, PA. Born August 21, 1920 in
Lederach, PA to Reuben and Katie (Benner) Fretz. He was the
loving husband of 64 years to Verna B. (Derstine) Fretz.
Survived by his wife, Verna and Sheila Tittle (Daughter) of
Lansdale, PA; Kerry Fretz (Son) of Phoenixville, PA; Lonnie Fretz (Son)
of Troy, PA; 2 Grand children - Jennifer & Kent; a great-grandson -
Asher Joseph.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Fretz and a twin sister,
Ada Groff.

Freyenberger, Janice Carolyn Roth, 77, of Wayland, Henry Co., IA
died August 12, 2010 at the same place. She was born December 29,
1932 at Archbold, OH to Joseph Nicholas and Sarah (Short) Roth.
On October 28, 1961 at Archbold, OH she was married to Joe
Freyenberger, who survives.
Surviving are four daughters, Barbara Freyenberger of Iowa City,
Michelle (Douglas) Frederick of Kalona, Carmen Martinez of Berwyn, IL,
Maria (Michael) Roth of Wayland, 8 grandchildren, Anthony, David and
Kellie Frederick, Adriana and Joseph Martinez, Abigail, Christian and
Jackson Roth, and
one great-granddaughter, Isabelle Frederick, a sister, Clela Helm of
Trenton, NJ and a brother, Herbert (Charlotte) Roth of Newville, PA.
An infant daughter, one brother, Dorwin Roth and two sisters, Verda
Jetmore and Vera Roth. preceded her in death.

Friesen, Gladys Huebert, 98, of Henderson, York Co., NE died
February 15 2010 at the same place. She was born April 17, 1911
at Henderson, NE to Peter E. and Marie (Pankratz) Huebert. On
August 2, 1931 at Madrid, NE she was married to Herman I. Friesen, who
is deceased.
Surviving are children, Janice Siebert, Marlene (Walt) Ott, Joan (E.
James) Friesen, and Lloyd Friesen, 12 grandchildren, 26
great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Frye-Miller, Mary "Etta" Yoder, 89, of Goshen, IN died August
25, 2010 at Courtyard Of Goshen, where she had stayed for a month. She
was born March 12, 1921 in Kosciusko County, IN., to Eli S. and Savilla
(Schmucker) Yoder. In 1941 in Elkhart County she married Daniel Frye,
he died November 6, 1971, she then was married in 1982 in Elkhart
County to Leander Miller, he died November 3, 2005.
She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Middlebury, IN.
Survived by three daughters, Rose Mary Newton of LaGrange, IN; Treva
"T.J." Yoder and
Danette (Gerald) Miller both of Goshen, IN; eight grandchildren, six
great-grand-children; a great-great-grandson; sister, Laura Miller of
Goshen, IN.
She was preceded in death by both parents; a granddaughter, Jenessa
Miller; four brothers, Manas, Melvin, Eli and Irvin Yoder and three
sisters, Fannie
Yoder, Lydia Mae Eash and Elizabeth Dunlap.
A private family burial was at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury, IN. A
memorial service was August 28, 2010 at 11:00AM at First Mennonite
Church Middlebury, IN conducted by Rev. Linford Martin and Rev. Pamela
Yoder.

Funk, Francis John, 77, of Newton passed away surrounded by his
loving family on Wednesday (July 28, 2010) at Wesley Medical Center in
Wichita.
He was born on April 24, 1933, in Hillsboro to Arnold E. and Edna Ruth
(Loganbill) Funk. On Aug. 28, 1954, he married JoAnn Krehbiel
at Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge. She survives at their home in
Newton.
Francis was an active member of the Bethel College Mennonite Church in
North Newton where over the years he served as a trustee, deacon, and
usher. One of Francis' greatest passions was his work as
coordinator for the General Auction of the yearly Kansas Mennonite
Relief Sale. He believed fervently in the mission of MCC.
In addition to his church activities, Francis was a member of the Lions
Club, the Midwest Tool Collectors Club and the Southwest Tool
Collectors Club.
He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1951 and from Bethel
College, North Newton in 1957. In both high school and college Francis
stood out as a premier athlete, excelling most famously in football
where he once broke four different helmets with his hard-hitting
style.Francis continued his education obtaining his master's degree
from Emporia State University. He taught industrial arts and coached in
Lehigh for 5 years and 30 years in Newton, retiring in 1992. In
retirement, Francis began his dogged quest for antique tools, attending
weekly local and out of state auctions. He was an avid woodworker whose
creations, especially his reproduction wagons, have brought joy to many
a home. In their nearly 56 years of marriage, JoAnn and Francis
enjoyed extensive traveling as well as some spirited square dancing.
Family was very important to Francis and whenever possible he attended
his children's and grandchildren's activities, whether they were in New
York, Tennessee, Colorado, Manhattan, KS, California, or Idaho.
Francis touched many lives and leaves many friends. His loss to
us all is immeasurable.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Keith and Retha Funk of
Lakewood, Colo., Mark and Cathy Funk of Newton, and Scott and Mary Ann
Funk of Lewiston, Idaho; daughters, Michelle Funk of Shawnee, and Elyse
and Mark Boston of Newton; grandchildren Tyler Funk, Melissa Funk,
Jacob Funk, Katie Dyck, Henry Funk, Samuel Funk, Jana Boston and Luke
Boston; great-grandchildren, Liberty and Brian Brigman; brother,
Frederick and Joyce Funk of Viroqua, Wis; and sisters, Marjorie
Schroeder of Mountain Lake, Minn., Shirley and Paul Harms of North
Newton, and Barbara and Dean Reimer of Fort Collins, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest grandson, Levi
Funk.
Internment was held at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Funk, Ronald Peter, 94, of Aberdeen, Bingham Co.,ID died March
22, 2010 at Pocatello, Bannock Co., ID from natural causes. He
was born March 16, 1916 at Aberdeen, ID to Peter F. and Maria (Wiebe)
Funk. On April 2, 1939 at Aberdeen he was married to Elva Enns,
who survives.
Surviving are a son, Ronald Kent (Sherry); a daughter, Connie Shelley
(Robert); 4 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Alvin L. preceded him in death.
