96, of Aberdeen, Bingham Co., Idaho died December 4, 2010 at American Falls, Power Co., Idaho from natural causes.  She was born March 22, 1914 at Avon, South Dakota to Peter J. and Anna (Boese) Becker.  On September 16, 1984 at Aberdeen, Idaho she was married to Peter Isaak, who is deceased.

Surviving are five step-children children, numerous step grandchildren, and  great-grandchildren.

Her siblings, Peter, Henry, Linda, Esther, Agnes, and Eldon preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held December 9, 2010 at First Mennonite Church, Aberdeen, Idaho with burial in Homestead Cemetery, Aberdeen, Idaho.

Jaberg, James Russell,
75, of Berlin, OH died January 23, 2010 at Canton, OH after a brief illness.  He was born November 19, 1934 in Holmes Co., OH to Lister and Irma (Brand) Jaberg.  On April 14, 1962 he was married to Susan Miller, who survives.

Surviving are a son, David (Annette) Jaberg, and a daughter, Myrna Jaberg and 2 grandchildren.

Memorial services were held January 27, 2010 at First Mennonite Church, Sugarcreek, OH with burial in Walnut Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Walnut Creek, OH.

Jacoby, Sharon L. Detweiler
, 58, of died May 23, 2010  at Philadelphia, PA.  She was born October 30, 1951 at Sellersville, PA to Paul K. and Joyce M. (Snyder) Detweiler.  She was married to James H. Jacoby, who survives.

Surviving are a son, Jamie P. Jacoby; a daughter, Tanya and her husband Alan Jenkins and 2 grandchildren.

Memorial services were held May 27, 2010 at Rockhill Mennonite Church, Telford PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Jacoby, Sharon L.

Sharon L. Jacoby, of Milford Township, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, in Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia. She was 58.

She and her loving husband, James H. Jacoby, celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary in January.

Born in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late Paul K. and Joyce M. (Snyder) Detweiler.

A homemaker for most of her life, she was employed at the Goddard School in Quakertown for the past three years.

Sharon was a member of Rockhill Mennonite Church in Telford, where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school, and was active with various other church activities. In her free time she enjoyed camping and her dogs, but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jamie P. Jacoby of Hughesville; a daughter, Tanya R. Jacoby and her husband, Alan Jenkins, of Quakertown; two grandsons, George Wilson and Sheldon Jenkins; and two sisters, Carol J. Watson and her husband, Richard W., of Olympia, Wash., and Gayle J. Detweiler and her life companion, Julie Schrader, of Boise, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in Rockhill Mennonite Church, 3100 Meetinghouse Road, Telford. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 28, in Rockhill Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Hollis Kayden Jaeger

      Hollis Kayden Jaeger, infant son of Karen (Hersch­berger) Hostetler and Rick Jaeger of Sullivan, was stillborn at 4:37 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

      Graveside funeral services with Rev. Larry Rocke officiating were held at Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery where he was buried at the foot of his great-grandma Ada Miller who passed away on July 31. Edwards Funeral Home, Arcola, assisted with arrangements.

      Hollis is survived by his parents, Rick and Karen; a step brother, Richard Jaeger of Arcola; and a step sister, Lexie Jaeger, also of Arcola; paternal grandparents, Leon­ard and Vickie Jaeger of Tuscola; maternal grandparents, Menno and Barbara Herschberger of Arthur; and maternal great-grandfathers, Joas Herschberger and Henry William Miller, both of Arthur.

      He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmothers, Ada Miller and Barbara Herschberger; paternal great-grandparents, Bill and Margie Garner and George and Mildred Jaeger; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jantzi, Mabel Luella Burkholder
, 91, of Glendale, AZ died February 10, 2010 at the same place.  She was born September 20, 1918 at Middlebury, IN to Adam and Beulah (Hooley) Burkholder.  On June 1, 1939 she was married to Albert Jantzi, who died in April 1997.

Surviving are children, Judith Jantzi Weaver of Denver, CO; Denton Jantzi of Hesston, KS; Paul Jantzi of Cave Creek, AZ; Sherrill Jantzi Rudy of Pittsburgh, PA; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held February 14, 2010 at Chapel at Glencroft Retirement Community, Glendale, AZ.

Janzen, Pansy N. Regier
, 97, of Henderson, York Co., NE died May 4, 2010 at the same place.  She was born February 16, 1913 in York Co., NE.  On November 17, 1936 she was married to Frank Janzen, who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Nadine and Alvin Peters, John and Genny Janzen, Mary and Dale Hofer, Kenneth and Barbara Janzen, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held May 7, 2010 at Bethesda Mennonite Church, Henderson, NE with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Jenkins, Edward Atkinson, III
, 84, of Reedley, CA died January 16, 2010 at Fresno, CA.  He was born October 22, 1925. His father was Edward Atkinson Jenkins, Jr.

Surviving are children, Suya (Gary) Colorado-Caldwell; David Jenkins; Thomas Jenkins; one grandchild, two sisters, Frances Snyder and Ellen Squyres, and a brother, David Jenkins.

He was a math teacher at Reedley High School for 19 years.

Memorial services were held January 20, 2010 at First Mennonite Church, Reedley, CA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Jennings, John
, 91, Goshen, IN died on June 18, 2010.  He was born August 29, 1918 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Rev. William and Anna (Good) Jennings and was the youngest of 11 children.

While attending Goshen College he met and married the love of his life, "Polly" Blosser, on April 12, 1941, in Leetonia, Ohio.  They shared 63 years together raising their three daughters.  Polly preceded him in death on March 3, 2005.He was a dedicated member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN.

Survied by 3 daughters, Marilyn (Jim) Berkey of Austin, Texas, Elaine (Steve) Buerge, of Fort Scott, Kansas, and Vicki Jennings of South Bend, Indiana; five grandchildren, Todd (Kelly) Berkey, Grant (Michelle) Berkey, Marc (Kim) Berkey, Nathan (Pam) Buerge, and Summer (Steve) Timperley, and 8 great-grandchildren.  

He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. A private family burial service was held at Violett Cemetery. A memorial service was July 17, 2010 at Greencroft's Gathering Place at Evergreen Place, Goshen, IN, officiated by Rev. Kevin Farmwald of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN.

Jones, Sylvia Mast
, 71, of Kalona, Washington County, Iowa died January 3, 2010 at the same place from natural causes.  She was born September 20, 1938 to Jerry and Elizabeth Mast. She was married to Richard Jones, who is deceased.

Surviving are a son, Doyle Gingerich, three sisters, Rose Aguilar, Sovilla Krochak, and Anna Overmyer, and two brothers, Jerry Jr. Mast and John Mast.

Memorial services were held January 9, 2010 at Pererseim Funeral Home, Kalona, Iowa with burial in North Gingerich Cemetery, Kalona, Iowa.

Kanagy, Max Earl
, Ypsilanti, MI age 67, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 with family by his side. He was born on January 31, 1942 in West Liberty, OH.

Max earned his PhD from Ohio State University and was currently a Professor of Engineering Technology at Eastern Michigan University. He was an active participant of Shalom Community Church of Ann Arbor and First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. Not only was Max a supporter of Ten Thousand Villages in Ann Arbor but he was a past board member and enjoyed traveling.

He pursued a life long quest for knowledge, was a passionate solver of problems and an avid landscaper. Max was a deeply devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and is survived by his wife Norene; children, Renee (Bradley Kauffman) Kanagy and Matthew (Joann Hunsberger) Kanagy; grandchildren, Lucca Kauffman and Jesse Hunsberger Kanagy; sister, Phyllis Marie Stevanus; and two nephews, Eugene and Mark Stevanus.

Memorial contributions in Max's memory may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee, www. mcc.org and/or the National Marrow Donor Pro-gram, www.marrow.org.

The Kanagy family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 29, 2010 at Nie Family Funeral Home, Liberty Chapel, 3767 West Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1432 Washtenaw Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

Kandel, David E.
, age 88, of Berlin, OH died March  2, 2010 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek, OH. He was born on Nov. 25, 1921 in Millersburg, OH to John E. and Eva (Miller) Kandel. On March 20, 1943 he married Elsie Miller and she preceded him in death Feb. 1, 1996. On Sept. 1, 1996 he married Sarah Yoder and she survives.

He was a member of the Berlin Mennonite Church.

Survived by his wife, Sarah Kandel and eight children Sharon and Cal Yoder of Walnut Creek, OH; Clell and Lois Kandel of Nappanee, IN; Karl and Mary Lou Kandel of Sarasota, FL; Tony and Denise Kandel of Walnut Creek, OH; Earl Kandel of Loudonville, OH; Gwen and Brian Hamsher of Sugarcreek, OH; Brenda and Scott Patterson of Berlin, OH; and Wes and Kathy Kandel of Berlin, OH; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; a brother, Reuben and Esther Kandel of Berlin, OH; sister-in-law, Marilyn Kandel of Berlin, OH; and brother-in-law, Jay Miller (Herma) of Orrville, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Homer and Marion Kandel; a sister, Velma Miller; and an infant grandson.

Funeral services was March 6, 2010 at the Berlin Mennonite Church with Pastor Ernie Hershberger officiating. Burial will be at the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Ohio.

Kauffman, Alvin D.


GOSHEN -- Alvin D. Kauffman, 96, of Goshen, died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday Nov. 14, 2010, in Goshen General Hospital.

He was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Kenmare, N.D., to Joseph and Agnes (Andrews) Kauffman. He married Beulah E. Good on April 17, 1938, in Cheraw, Colo. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara (Charles) Powell of Champaign, Ill., and Ruth Ann (Edward) Zehr of Fox Lake, Ill.; one son, Dr. Ralph (Laurel) Kauffman of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Zola (Paul) Irwin of Fort Morgan, Colo.

Two sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Kauffman was a pastor at Crystal Springs Mennonite Church in Crystal Springs, Kan., from 1956 to 1964, and also taught in the Kansas Public Schools from 1958 to 1966, and from 1966 to 1976 taught at Brookdale Junior High School in Elkhart. In his retirement, he pursued his passion for woodworking and carving. He became an accomplished carver of ducks and other waterfowl. His intricately carved and beautifully painted ducks are enjoyed in numerous homes and offices across the U.S. and in several other countries. He built numerous pieces of furniture for Beulah and himself, as well as his family and many friends. Alvin was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, member of Belmont Mennonite Church and has done woodcarving since 1982.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Belmont Mennonite Church with the Rev. Larry Rohrer officiating.

GOSHEN -- Arie Kauffman, 92, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital.

She was born May 17, 1918, to David and Emma (Yoder) Slabach in Kokomo. She had lived in Goshen since 1934. On Nov. 23, 1936, she married Alfred S. Kauffman in Indianapolis. He died Jan. 8, 2000.

Surviving are daughters Erma (Cecil) Swartzendruber of Goshen and Shirley (Ray) Lanfear of Missoula, Mont.; sons Steve (Nila) Kauffman of Goshen, Nelson Kauffman of LaGrange and Ron (Jane) Kauffman of Howe; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother Edwin Slabach of Kalona, Iowa; half-brother Marvin Slabach of Colorado; and half-sister Martha (Ray) Yoder of Versailles, Mo.

She was preceded by sisters Alma Beachy and Erma Bontrager; brothers Albert, Levi and Henry Slabach; stepbrother Delbert Miller; and stepsister Lydia Mae Hochstetter.

A homemaker, Mrs. Kauffman had worked as a clerk at Harding's in Middlebury and was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church and WMSC Sewing Circle. She also volunteered at The Depot.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Pleasant View Mennonite Church. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. at the church. Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorials may be given to Pleasant View Mennonite Church or the Jefferson Food Pantry.

Kauffman, Arie Slabach, 92, of Goshen died September 28, 2010 at Goshen General Hospital.

Funeral service was October 4, 2010 at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Pastor Ron Diener and Pastor Tyler Hartford will officiate. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen, IN.

Kauffman, Dale F.
, 78, of Zanesfield, Ohio died June 9, 2010 at Columbus, Ohio  from lung cancer.  He was born April 1, 1932 in Logan Co., Ohio to David and Olive (Hartzler) Kauffman.  He was married to Irene Overholt for 53 years.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Carla, of Three Rivers, MI; a son, David (Sherry) of Lititz, PA; a daughter, Karen (Herb) Landis, of Lancaster, PA,
4 grandchildren, 4 brothers, Joe (Alona) Kauffman;  Warren (Elma) Kauffman; Ken (Jane) Kauffman; Harold (Elaine) Kauffman; and a sister, Ruth (Lowell) Detweiler.

He was a life-long farmer and a Social Studies teacher for 20 years at Benjamin Logan Middle School.

Memorial services will be held September 14, 2010 at South Union Mennonite Church, Logan Co., OH with burial in Yoder Cemetery, Logan Co., OH.

Kauffman, Merrill J.
, 70, of Goshen, IN died January 8, 2010 at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis, IN after an extended illness.  He was born March 22, 1939 at Fairview, MI to Ira and Glada (Miller) Kauffman.  On August 10, 1963 at Elida, OH he was married to Shirley Stalter, who was born October 20, 1938 and survives.

Surviving are children, Joy (Randy) Detweiler, Kokomo, IN; Kent Kauffman, Fairview, MI; and Steve (Lisa) Kauffman, Harleysville, PA; 5 grandchildren, sisters Polly Kauffman and Kathy (Wayne) Hochstedler, both of Harrisonburg, VA; Bertha (Jim) Jacklitch, Altadena, CA; and brothers, Sandord (Linda) Kauffman, Crowne Point, IN and Sherm (Betty) Kauffman, Goshen, IN.

While living in Michigan he owned and operated Kauffman's Carpet and Cleaning Service.  In Brooksville, FL, at Lakewood Retreat, he was a maintenance director and then became director of The Retreat.  In Goshen, he worked for Schrock Homes as a finish carpenter.  He was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, where he was involved in church music.  In Fairview, at Fairview Mennonite Church, he was very involved in church music and served as an elder.  Before marriage, he spent two years in PAX in Greece and Germany.  He enjoyed volunteering and helping in the community.  Hobbies included woodworking of all kinds, gardening and other outside activities.

Memorial services were held January 15, 2010 at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Kauffman, Merrill J., 70, of Goshen, IN died January 8, 2010 at Indiana University, Fairview, Mich., was born to Ira and Glada (Miller) Kauffman.
He married Shirley Stalter August 10, 1963, in Elida, Ohio. She survives.

He moved from Michigan to Florida in 1986, then to Goshen in 1996.While living in Michigan, he owned and operated Kauffman's Carpet and Cleaning Service. In Brooksville, Fla., at Lakewood Retreat, he was a maintenance director and then became director of The Retreat. In Goshen, he worked for Schrock Homes as a finish carpenter.

He was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, where he was involved in church music. In Fairview, MI at Fairview Mennonite Church, he was very involved in church music and served as an elder. Before marriage, he spent two years in PAX in Greece and Germany.

, 72, of Mount Eaton, OH died November 26, 2010 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek, OH. He was born in Holmes Co. OH on December 12, 1937 to Henry B. and Alma (Miller) Kauffman and lived most of his life near Mount Eaton. He was a member of the former Calvary Chapel near Mount Eaton, OH and had previously attended Mennonite Christian Assembly in Fredericksburg, OH.

Survived by siblings, Mary (Ivan) Schrock of Berlin, OH; Paul (Emma Grace) of Plain City, OH; Mattie Hochstetler of Sarasota, FL; Steve (Arlene) Kauffman of American Falls, ID; Edna (Nevin) Hershberger of Mount Eaton, OH; David (Mary) Kauffman of Inola, OK; Dennis (Rose) Kauffman of Lancaster, PA and Mark (Betty) Kauffman of Jacksonville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service was November, 29, 2010 at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church near Berlin, OH with Pastor Abe Schlabach officiating. Family graveside services will be held prior in the Calvary Chapel Cemetery, Mount Eaton, OH.

Kauffman, Sarah J. Burkholder Miller

     
Sarah J. (Miller) Kauffman, 95, of Chesterville passed away at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at her residence.
     
Funeral services were held Friday morning, October 8, at the residence of her grandson, Paul M. Miller, south of Chesterville. Bishop Dannie Otto officiated. Burial was in Miller Cemetery, rural Arcola. Visitation was any time prior to the funeral at the Miller residence.
     
Mrs. Kauffman was born September 19, 1915, in Nappanee, Indiana. She was a daughter of Andrew M. and Katie (Herschberger) Burkholder. She married Menno J. Miller on November 10, 1932, in Nappanee. He passed away on September 25, 1971. She later married Monroe R. Kauffman on October 19, 1985, in Middlebury, Indiana. He passed away on March 28, 1986.
     
She is survived by nine children, Andy Miller and wife Beverly of Bloomfield, Iowa, Lonnie Miller of Mattoon, Clara Beachy and husband Mahlon of Millersburg, Indiana, Allen Miller and wife Fannie of Middlebury, Erma Hochstetler and husband Earl of Nappanee, Lorraine Miller of Cassopolis, Michigan, Ervin Miller and wife Nancy of Arcola, Howard Miller and wife Betty of Arthur, and Betty Chupp and husband Eldon of Chesterville; one daughter-in-law, Clara Miller of Chesterville; one son-in-law, Marvin Hochstetler of Middlebury; 51 grandchildren, 139 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren; and three stepsons.
     
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son, Melvin Miller; one grandson, Brian Hochstetler; two great-grandchildren, Marilyn Hochstetler and Joseph Hochstetler; three brothers, one that was stillborn and two others, Melvin and Valentine Burkholder; and one sister, Elizabeth Miller.
     
Mrs. Kauffman operated a bakery from her home for many years. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.

Kaufman, Amzy R.
, 85, of Lovington passed away at 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Reuben Kaufman residence in rural Lovington with Bishop Howard D. Miller officiating. Burial was in Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur. Visitation was any time prior to the funeral at the Reuben Kaufman residence. Edwards Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Mr. Kaufman was born February 21, 1925, in Lovington. He was a son of Jeff G. and Rebecca (Miller) Kaufman. He married Emma E. Yoder on September 11, 1947, in Chouteau, Oklahoma. She survives.

Also surviving are eight children, Catherine Rocke and husband Jerry of Arthur, Rebecca Kaufman and Mary Kaufman, both of Lovington, David Kaufman and wife Anna Mae of Arthur, Jerry Kaufman and wife Clara Mae of Arcola, Reuben Kaufman and wife Verna of Lovington, Barbara Miller and husband David of Arthur, and Lloyd Kaufman and wife Mary Ellen of Arthur; 31 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren, 26 step great-grandchildren; 11 step great-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Dan Kaufman of Arthur, Reuben Kaufman of Sugarcreek, Ohio, and Valentine Kaufman of Arcola; a sister, Katie Miller of Arcola; and two sisters-in-law, Mattie Kaufman of Humboldt, and Lois Roberts of Lawrence ville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Andy and Noah Kaufman; and one step grandchild, Reuben Rocke.

Mr. Kaufman was a member of the old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are a son, Kenton (and Nancy) Kaufman.

Keeler, Alvin W.
, 85, of Telford, PA died June 17, 2010 at Quakertown, Bucks Co., PA cancer.  He was born January 15, 1925 at Kulpsville, Montgomery Co., PA to Alvin C. and Addie R. (Wisler) Keeler).  On June 12, 1948 in Franconia Twp., Montgomery Co., PA he was married to Thelma Pearl Freed, who was born November 19, 1926 and survives.

Surviving are two sons, Terry L. Keeler and his wife Ava, and Timothy S. Keeler, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Esther Pearson and Arlene Moyer.

Two brothers, Nathaniel Keeler and Harvey Keeler, and three sisters, Mabel Leatherman, Kathryn Detweiler, and Susan Stoudt preceded him in death.

Memorial services were held June 22, 2010 at Franconia Mennonite Church Telford, Montgomery Co., PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Keener, Walter L.
, 88, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of East Donegal Twp. Lancaster Co., PA died April 1, 2010 at Woodcrest Villa. He was born in Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., PA to Walter Diffenderfer Keener and Ada Bender Longenecker Keener. He was married 66 years to Martha Miller Hernley Keener of Woodcrest Villa.

Rev. Keener, known for his spiritual enthusiasm, was retired from Elizabethtown Mennonite Church where he served as pastor for 35 years. He served as chaplain at ManorCare, Elizabethtown and Rheems Nursing Center for eight years.

The children of Walter and Martha are grateful for the love, grace and prayers demonstrated throughout their family life.
 
Survived by his wife Martha and four sons: Nelson, married to Jean Reist, Lancaster, PA; Gerry, married to Donna Zehr, Lancaster, PA; Lamar, married to Theresa Grassel, Le Mesa, CA; and Arlen, married to Kathleen Boll, Columbia, PA; two daughters: Audrey, married to James O. Hilsher, Winnipeg, PA and Marilyn, married to Fred Baldwin, Carlisle, PA; 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and siblings: Virgie Keener; Harold, married to Mary Shearer; Helen, married to James Hess; and Barbara, married to Harold Reed, all of Lancaster Co. PA.

Walter was preceded in death by two daughters: Charlene and Velma, wife of Roy Scholl; four brothers: Edwin, Samuel, John and Lincoln; and one sister, Mary, wife of Mervin Miller.

A Memorial Service was April 7, 2010 at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church,  Elizabeth town, PA. Interment will take place in Bossler Mennonite Cemetery Elizabethtown, PA at the convenience of the family.

Keidel, Eudene E. King
, 89, of Leo, IN died July 25, 2010 at the same place.  She was born February 9, 1921 at Flanagan, IL to Ed and Ida King.  On September 24, 1948 she was married to Levi O. Keidel, who was born January 18, 1927 and survives.

Surviving are children, Paul (Marian) Keidel, Pricilla (Bob) Miller, Perry (Monica) Keidel, and Ruth (Jonathan) Clemens, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Meredith King.

A foster brother, C.D. Baumgardner preceded her in death.

She was a missionary RN in AFrica (Congo) for 25 years retiring in 1992.  Over the years, Eudene collected many African Fables and eventually put these stories into three African Fables books which have been translated into two other languages and can still be found on Amazon.com.

Memorial services were held July 31, 2010 at Westview Alliance Church, Fort Wayne, IN with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN.

, 87 of Landis Homes, Lititz, PA, formerly of Parkesburg, PA, died November 16, 2010.  She was born in Parkesburg daughter of the late Noah & Marie Denlinger Hershey. She was the wife of Christian D. Kennel of Lititz, PA with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage on May 15th of this year.  She was a member of Parkesburg Mennonite Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and was active in the church sewing circle.  Gladys wrote a weekly column entitled: a "Heap of Living" and "Sunny-side Up" for the Parkesburg Post Ledger.  She also wrote for numerous church publications on children and family living.  

Survived by her husband Christian and 11 children:  Marie E. Ruth Kibele 1919 - 2010

Ruth E. Kibele, 91, of Bluffton, died at 10:15 a.m., April 23, 2010, at Otterbein Nursing Home, Cridersville.

She was born April 2, 1919, to John and Clara Gratz Geiser in Grand Marsh, Wisc,. On June 20, 1938, she married Kermit Kibele and he died Jan. 20, 1969.

Mrs. Kibele owned and operated Kibbee's Carry-Out and had worked at Triplett Corp. She was a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Bluffton College. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.

Survivors include daughters Jeannie (Owen) Hinkle, Lima; Kay (Don) Wade, Lima; and sons Kim (Susie), Richmond, Ind., Jan (Paula), Bluffton, Don, Cuyahoga Falls, and Tom (Sherry), Harrod.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jack and Keith, and a brother, Paul Geiser.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 1, at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Steve Yoder and Louise Wideman will officiate.

Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.

Kilmer, Willard Everett


GOSHEN -- Willard E. Kilmer, 81, of Goshen, died at 1 a.m. Friday (Dec. 31, 2010) at his residence.

He was born Nov. 30, 1929, in Nappanee to Philip and Ella (Kohli) Kilmer. He married Sarah (Boardley) Kilmer on June 9, 1951. She survives.

Also surviving are sons Stephen DeWayne Kilmer of Bristol and Brian Paul (Lisa) Kilmer of North Manchester; daughter Linda Kay (Keith) Yoder of Goshen; foster son Patrick (Sue) Trainer of South Bend; brother Sanford (Clara) Kilmer of Goshen; grandchildren Brandi Yoder of Goshen, Kacey Kilmer of Elkhart, Alyson and Tiffany Kilmer of New Paris and Corey Hart of Bristol; and stepgrandchildren Lauren and Chad Briner.

Preceding him in death were three sisters, Marietta Bontrager, Anna Mable Kilmer and Wilma Christophel, and grandson Michael Yoder.

He was retired from Jayco and was a member of Shore Mennonite Church and the Palmetto Mobile Home Club, Palmetto, Fla.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Shore Mennonite Church, Shipshewana, where the service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4. Pastors Carl Horner and Dennis Bontrager will officiate.

Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Indiana University Health Goshen Hospital Care at Home/Hospice or Bethany Christian High School.

King, Betty Detweiler, 82 of Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community (VMRC) in Harrisonburg died September 17, 2010 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va. She was born in Souderton, PA, on March 10, 1928, to Lillian and Elmer Detweiler.  Her husband was Aaron King, of 60 years.

Betty and Aaron and their family were missionaries in Cuba and Mexico before returning to live in Harrisonburg in the 1970s. They were very involved in the Hispanic community, as well as in prison ministry. Betty was one of the first women ordained in the Virginia Mennonite Conference, to allow her to serve alongside Aaron as a prison chaplain.

Survived by her husband Aaron and her eight children: Michael (Joan Kenerson) of Telford, Pa., and Harrisonburg, Va.; Jewel (Angela Kreider) of Scottsville, Va.; Robert of Philadelphia, Pa.; Steven Wiebe-King (Jill Wiebe) of Richmond, Va.; Marty (Sharon Geigley) of Harrisonburg, Va.; Noël of Keswick, Va.; Heidi of Wakarusa, Ind.; and Starla (Sandy Manne) of Ashburn, Va. Betty is also survived by eight grandchildren: Michael and Joan's daughters, Kristy (Adam Hamilton), Katie, and Rachael (J. Michael Harnish); Steven and Jill's children, Juliet and RobertThomas; and Marty and Sharon's children, Eric, Kari, and Andy.

She was predeased by her parents Lillian and Elmer Detweiler, brothers Richard and Robert Detweiler. A daughter Angela passed away in 2001.

A private burial service was September 25, 2010 at Lindale Mennonite Cemetery followed by a public memorial service at Lindale Mennonte Church, Harrisonburg, VA.

, 97, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia died April 20, 2010 at the same place.  She was born January 2, 1913 at Fort Wayne, Indiana to Ben B. and Malinda (Mann) King.  On September 7, 1941 she was married to Harold R. King, who was born January 15, 1912 and died December 16, 2008.

Surviving are children, D. Wayne & Ellen King, Carol and Dale Bowers, Arnold & Diana King, Sue & Sonny Brittle, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

ARCHBOLD, Ohio -- Martha King, 92, of Archbold, died Sunday (March 7, 2010) in Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home.

She was born March 7, 1918, in Elkhart County, Ind., to Christian and Emma (Blosser) Kulp. She married Orlen King on Dec. 23, 1945. He died April 28, 1993.

Surviving are her children, Delbert (M. Jane Rychener) of Stryker, Velma (Rollin Ulrich) of Goshen, Ind., Kermit (Sharyn Adams) of Broomfield, Colo., and Gerald A. of Donetsk, Ukraine; granddaughters Laurie King of Surprise, Ariz., Jennifer King of Toledo, Emily and Katie Ulrich of Goshen, Joy King to Lyndonville, Vt., and Jessica King of Arvada, Colo.; grandson Joel (Ashley Miller) Ulrich of Pascagoula, Miss.; great-granddaughter Olivia Ulrich of Elkhart County; brothers Christian and Isaac (Dorothy) Kulp of Elkhart County; and sister Emma Martin of Elkhart County. She was preceded in death by brothers Sam, Joe and Ernest Kulp and sisters Suzanna and Mary Kulp and Barbara Kilmer.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Fairlawn Chapel and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at West Clinton Mennonite Church. A service will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Pettisville Cemetery. Short Funeral Home, Archbold, is in charge of arrangements.

BELLEVILLE - Mary Mae King, 98, of Valley View Haven and formerly 3071 Back Mountain Road, Belleville, died at 7 a.m. Sunday Sept. 12, 2010, at Valley View Haven.

Born Dec. 8, 1911, in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Jacob S. and Fannie R. (Yoder) Zook. Her husband, Samuel H. King, whom she married on Aug. 20, 1939, preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2000.

Mary is survived by children, Jesse W. King and companion Wanda England, of Hutchinson, Kan., Ivan R. King and wife Betty, of Port Royal, David T. King and wife Arlene, of Hutchinson, Kan., Leah Harbst, of Lewistown, and Gary L. King, of Belleville; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Lee G. King and Freddie R. King.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church in Belleville.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Maple Grove Mennonite Church.

The viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Baggus Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Kauffman and Pastor Herbert Zook officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Klingenberg, Velma Ruth Regier
, 87, of Reedley, CA died February 10, 2010 at the same place.  She was born March 6, 1922 at Burrton, KS to Albert and Selma (Penner) Regier.  On July 6, 1945 at Elbing, KS she was married to Herman Klingenberg, who was born March 13, 1920 and died May 16, 2004.

Surviving are a son, Eddie (Candy) Klingenberg; a daughter, Myrna (Vic) Quinn; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, one brother, Harold (Rosella) Regier; and two sisters, Elnora Schrag; and Elizabeth (Pete) Klassen.

A sister, Hilda preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held February 17, 2010 at First Mennonite Church, Reedley, CA with burial in Reedley Cemetery, Reedley, CA.

Wayne W. Klopfenstein was born in Seward, Nebraska on October 14, 1921. He married his loving wife, Miriam Fink, on November 7, 1942 and they were happily married for 67 years. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1955. Wayne was a restaurant owner for 55 years.

Wayne is survived by his wife and children: Dr. James Klopfenstein (Marilyn) of Kentucky; Ronald (Verna) of California; Sharon Mullet (Art) of Kansas; Linda Francis (Greg Deceased); Roger Klopfenstein (Patty); Jack Klopfenstein (Dara); Douglas Klopfenstein of Colorado and 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held on June 14, 2010 from 5:00-7:00pm, and a funeral service will be on June 15, 2010 at 10:00 am. Both of which will be held in the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Klopfenstein, Wayne W., 88, of Colorado Springs, El Paso Co., Colorado died June 9, 2010 at the same place.  He was born October 14, 1921 at Seward, Nebraska to James G. and Mable (Eicher) Klopfenstein.  On November 7, 1942 he was married to Miriam Fink, who survives. Knepp, Florence Mae Stauffer


Florence Knepp (Flossie), 86, of Pinellas Park, Florida, our loving Mother, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Born Florence Mae Stauffer on November 5, 1923, the youngest of 7 children, she was raised on a farm in Goshen, IN. Flossie loved milking the cows (feeding the cats at the same time!) and singing in the barn.

She married Clair Knepp on June 9, 1950. They moved to Fish Lake, IN where they raised their 3 children. This was the most precious and memorable time of her life. They were married for 50 years until his death in 2001. They instilled strong biblical attributes in her children to help them be happy and successful in life. Their children are, daughter Elaine Adams, son David Knepp (wife Diana), and son Dale Knepp (wife Lois), 3 grandchildren, Mike Adams, Lisa Mahoney and Dawn Knepp and 1 great grandchild MeKenna Brolliar.

Flossie enjoyed gardening, canning and was an amazing seamstress, she was very creative and enjoyed many hours at her sewing machine, making all her children's clothes when they were young. Flossie really enjoyed singing and leading the singing at the Fish Lake Mennonite Church in IN. Clair and Flossie moved to FL in 1976 and were members at Church of the Brethren. They were involved for many years at Church of the Brethren's "sewing circle". She made many dear friends there and they were truly her Church family. She was always helping others, whether it was mending clothes or fixing one of her wonderful casseroles or big pots of soup to share with others. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.

This day is about celebrating Flossie, how she lived her life on this earth and how she lived for the Lord. She was always willing to listen and to share her faith with others.

To finish with one of Flossie's favorite verses: Psalms 118:24 "This is the day that the Lord has made and let us rejoice and be glad in it"

Knicely, Mabel Rebecca Beery
, 87, a resident of 2204 Harness Shop Road, Dayton, died Aug. 24, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Knicely was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Ward E. and Mary Amelia Showalter Beery. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church. On Feb. 6, 1947, she married David Franklin Knicely, who preceded her in death on May 2, 2009.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Knicely and wife, Dorothy, and Lee Knicely and wife, Brenda, all of Dayton; six daughters, Alice Knicely at home, Ida Wenger and husband, Ray, of Dayton, Rebecca Rohrer and husband, Byard, of Harrisonburg, Ferne Wenger and husband, Henry Jr., Anna Horst and husband, Adin, and Doris Horst and husband, Ervin, all of Dayton; three brothers, Joseph Beery and Emory Beery, both of Dayton, and Ward Beery of Harrisonburg; four sisters, Wilda Beery and Mary Beery, both of Harrisonburg, Ada Rodes of Port Republic and Anna Rohrer of Dayton; 30 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

The ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the home, where friends may call until 7:30 on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Knudson, Jacqueline J. Lane
, 72, of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., IN died July 31, 2010 at the same place.  She was born November 25, 1937 at Greeley, Colorado to Lawrence C. and Dorothy F. (Lee) Lane.  On October 24, 1959 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Vancouver, Washington she was married to Theodore Knudson, who survives.

Surviving are a son, Todd Knudson of South Bend, IN, and three daughters, Kari (Deron) Kippen of Grand Rapids, MI; Janet (Gary) Ritchie of Sammamish, Washington; and Lori (Ron) Aldefer, Phoenix, Arizona; 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Jackie loved flowers and was very appreciative of friends bringing her flowers from their gardens.  The family requested that persons attending the visitation and funeral bring flowers from their garden.

Memorial services were held August 7, 2010 at Kern Road Mennonite Church, South Bend, IN. Cremation has taken place and the ashes will be scattered.

Koch, Roy Swartz
, 96, of Goshen, June 12, 2010. He was born near St. Jacobs, Ontario, September 6, 1913, to Charles and Minerva (Swartz) Koch.  He married Martha Horst August 8, 1942 they were married for nearly 68 years.
 
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, at Waterloo, and Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, he was a churchman all his adult life,
ordained as a pastor in 1936, at age 23, and as a bishop in 1951.  He pastored congregations for over 34 years, He preached well into his nineties.

In Ontario, he pastored St. Jacobs Mennonite Church from 1936 to 1957.  From 1957 to 1970 he served at South Union Mennonite Church in West Liberty, Ohio.  He also filled the bishop's role in Ontario and Ohio, overseeing and mentoring.  While pastoring in Ontario, he also taught at the Ontario Mennonite Bible School and Institute in Kitchener during the forties and fifties, serving as its principal from 1952 to 1957.  He frequently travelled as a speaker, evangelist, and story-teller, in Canada and the States.  He wrote numerous articles for church and secular papers, served as editor of the "ministers' section" of the Builder, and of the Mennonite Renewal Services Newsletter.  He wrote several pamphlets and edited the book-length My Personal Pentecost with his wife for Herald Press in 1977. He served as Moderator of the Ohio and Eastern Conference in the 1960s, and as Moderator of Mennonite General Conference from 1963-1965.  He served on the Mennonite Church's Board of Missions, Board of Education, and Commission for Christian Education.

Survived by his wife Martha and six children, Robert (Linda Epp) Koch, Colorado Springs, Arlene (Ken) Holdeman, Bloomington, Minn., Richard (Rhonda Peck) Koch, Goshen, Rodney Koch, Salem, Ore., Jane (Stanley) Oyer, Middlebury, Sheila (Millard) Graber, Goshen; 18 grandchildren: and seven great-grandchildren.  a sister Gladys Martin, Elmira, Ontario.

He was preceded in death by six brothers; two sisters; and granddaughter, Joyce Graber. 

Funeral service was  June 15, 2010 at East Goshen Mennonite Church, Goshen with Pastor Steve Slagel officiating. Burial followed in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, IN.

, 92, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN (formerly of Kouts, IN) died April 18, 2010 at Goshen.  She was born February 23, 1918 at Milford, Seward Co., NE to Reuben and Malinda (Schweitzer) Birky.

Surviving are children, June (Donald) Piper; Rose (George) Plank; Sue (Kenneth) Hanson; Samuel (Eleanor) Koehler; Richard (Shirley) Koehler; Robert (Zona) Koehler; and Melvin (June) Koehler, 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Three siblings and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

She worked as a nurse's aide for Whispering Pines for 24 years and was a member of Hopewell Mennonite Church in Kouts.

, 87, of Reedley, CA died April 5, 2010 at Vacaville, CA from natural causes.  She was born February 8, 1923 at Fresno, CA to Edward Abraham and Stella Clara (Ruth) Dettweiler.

Surviving are children, David (Glorabelle), Robert, Jean Kope, Linda Kope, Donna Matthies, and Lois Kope, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A great-grandson, John Avery Atkinson and a brother, Edward Dettweiler, Jr. preceded her in death.

GOSHEN -- Verdella S. Krabill, 87, died Friday (Oct. 15, 2010) in Goshen General Hospital.

She was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Washington County, Iowa, to Edward and Edna (Boshart) Widmer. She married Maurice E. Krabill on June 7, 1942, in Wayland, Iowa. He died April 18, 1995.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce E. (Merle) Stutzman of Newton, Iowa, and Phyllis D. Krabill of Malvern, Pa.; two sons, Don L. (Jurate) Krabill of Elkhart and David J. (Beverly) Krabill of Goshen; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Evelyn (Maynard) Goff of Washington, Iowa; and three brothers, Darwin B. (Dorothy) Widmer of Washington, Iowa, Norman B. Widmer of Cape Coral, Fla., and Larry B. Widmer of Moline, Ill.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Oletha Birkey; two brothers, Duane B. and Delmar B. Widmer; and one grandson, Nathan John Stutzman.

A homemaker, Mrs. Krabill moved to the area in 1989 from Iowa and attended Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10 a.m. Monday funeral service will be at Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship. Pastor Dan Schrock will officiate.

Additional services and burial will be in Wayland, Iowa.

Memorials may be given to Mennonite Mission Network or Heifer International.

Kramer, Ashlie Michelle
, age 22 of Franklin, KY, died March 26, 2010, as a result of a tragic accident* on I-65 in Hart Co. near Mumfordville, KY. A native of Kentucky, she was the daughter of Alvin Kramer and Leona Overholt Kramer Franklin, KY. 

Survived by her parents her siblings 5 sisters - Rosanna Kramer of Franklin, KY; Julia Miller and husband Pete of Russellville, KY; Regina Beachy and husband Mark of Franklin, KY; Margaret Miller and husband Daniel of Russellville, KY; Dorcas Beachy and husband Kenneth of Franklin, KY; 2 brothers - Nathaniel Kramer and Stephen Kramer and wife Ellie all of Franklin, KY. 

She was preceded in death by 3 nephews. 

The family expresses sincere appreciation for all the prayers offered on their behalf.  Visitation will from 2 to 5pm and from 6 to 8pm Sunday at the church.

Kraybill, Maribel Garber
, 86 of Lititz, PA (formerly of Witmer, PA) died March 22, 2010 at Landis Homes. She was born Sept 23, 1924 in Elizabethtown, PA to Rev. Martin R. and Suie G. Kraybill.
 
Maribel was a member of East Chestnut St. Mennonite Church, Lancaster, PA where she served as Superintendent of the Sunday School. She traveled extensively in Africa, Europe and she taught English as a second language for six summers at several universities in China including North Western University in Shenyang. Maribel was Principal of Locust Grove Elementary School from 1955-1987. She was Director at The Mennonite Information Center from  1988-1998.

Survived by sister, Jean K., wife of Norman G. Shenk, Mt Joy, PA; two brothers, Simon P., husband of Mary Jean Sherer Kraybill, Landis Homes Lititz, PA and Nevin M., husband of Barbara A. Keener Kraybill, East Earl, PA, 17 nieces and nephews.

Siblings Arlene and Wilmer preceded her in death.

, 86, of Moundridge, KS died December 3, 2010 at the same place.  She was born March 3, 1924 at Burrton, KS to Herman and Nettie (Kliewer Regier) Krehbiel.  On November 12, 1942 she was married to Delbert Krehbiel, who died November 18, 1976.

Surviving are 2 children, Lynn Krehbiel, and Joel Krehbiel, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a brotheer, Raymond Kliewer.

Kuhns, Olive Mae Clemens
, 86, died April 22, 2010 at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. She was born on June 15, 1923 in Souderton, PA, to Raymond Sell and Esther Moyer Clemens. On August 27, 1949, she married James W. Kuhns who preceded her in death on March 31, 2009.

They served with the Mennonite Central Committee Relief Program in Ethiopia, 1949-1951. She was a member of Park View Mennonite Church. Survived by two daughters, Jean Elaine (G. Edward) Rissler, Harrisonburg, VA, Evelyn Mae (Jessie) Rankin, Middleboro, MA; one son, Philip Laurence (Faith) Kuhns, Tallahassee, FL; one brother, R. Wayne Clemens, Souderton, PA; six grandchildren, James Rissler, Atlanta, GA, Grant Rissler, Lancaster, PA, Matthew Rissler, Dubuque, IA, Anthony Kuhns, Stefan Kuhns both of Tallahassee, FL, Jonathan Rankin, Middleboro, MA; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Rissler, Peter Rissler, both of Atlanta, GA.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Genet Marie (Robert) Orebaugh, a sister, Mildred L. Yoder, and a brother, Edgar M. Clemens.

, 84, of Glendale, Maricopa Co., AZ died January 13, 2010 at the same place.  She was born September 6, 1925 at Corvallis, OR to Dave and Bena Schrock.  In 1944 she was married to Kenneth Keith Kuhns, who died in 1999.

Surviving are children, David & Diann Kuhns, Ken & Gail Kuhns, Barbara & Larry Weaver, Nellene & John Plouffe, and two sisters, Irene Herbert, Pearl Kotyo

Three brothers, Vernon, Earl, Dale preceded her in death.

Kuhns,  William W., Jr.
, 70, of Wilmot, OH died November 26, 2010 at Country Lawn Nursing Home in Navarre, OH. He was born in Holmes Co., OH on April 30, 1940 to William and Amanda (Miller) Kuhns. He married Marilyn Hershberger on November 22, 1958. They were married for 43 years before Marilyn passed away on June 14, 2001.

He was a member of the Longenecker Mennonite Church near Winesburg, OH. It was there he met the love of his life, Delmar Scheufler for many years.

Survived by daughter, Donna (William A.) Hershberger of Dundee, OH; son-in-law, Jack Dennis of Massillon, OH; granddaughters, Jenesia (Arlin) Schlabach of Sugarcreek,OH; Lori (Marc) Hostetler of Kidron, OH and Mirandi Dennis of Massillon, OH; great granddaughter, Natalie Ryan; sister-in-laws, Mabel Kuhns of Hartville and Becky (Bob) Pretzeus of Sugarcreek; special granddaughters, Laura (Larry) Wengerd and Catlin Pretzeus; and special great grandson, Gabriel Murray-Pretzeus; brother, Sam (Ruby) Kuhns of Beach City, OH; and sister, Mabel (Glen) Snyder of Monroeville, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, son, Terry Daniel; a daughter, Dawn Lynelle Dennis; a brother, Henry Kuhns; and sisters, Fannie Shoup, Susie Scheufler and Lydia Dews.

A service to celebrate Jr's life was November 27, 2020 at the Longenecker Mennonite Church with Pastor Dean Miller officiating. Jr. was laid to rest in the Longenecker Mennonite Church Cemetery Winesburg,OH next to his wife, son and daughter.

, 90, of Souderton, Montgomery Co., PA died April 4, 2010  at the same place.  She was born April 14, 1919 at Souderton, PA to Clayton and Lillian (Schueck) Gotwals.  On January 7, 1939 she was married to Howard L. Kulp, who was born June 4, 1916 and died May 27, 1996.

Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Coates, and Lois Johnstone, 3 grandchildren,  3 great-grandchildren and two brothers Robert Gotwals, and William Gotwals.

A brother, Jacob Gotwals, and two sisters, Helen Clemens, and Lorraine Landis preceded her in death.

, 93, of Sellersville, Bucks Co., PA died August 10, 2010 at the same place. She was born to Elmer Stear.  On September 28, 1940 at Perkasie, Bucks Co., PA she was married to Walter Kulp, who was born August 31, 1910  and is deceased.

Surviving are children, Scott Kulp and wife Betty, Carol Kulp Gosart and Albert,  4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

One sister, Florence Kletzing, and two brothers, Russel Stear and Howard Stear, and a grandson, Daryl Kulp preceded her in death.

Dorothy S. Kulp, 93, formerly of Hilltown Twp., passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in the skilled nursing unit of Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Twp. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter K. Kulp, who died in October, 2000.

Born and raised in Perkasie, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Clara (Myers) Stear.

She was employed as a cashier at the Landis Supermarket in Telford for 15 years prior to her retirement in 1980. She was previously employed at the Dublin Pants Factory for 25 years.

Mrs. Kulp was a member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church.

She was a former member of the Dublin Fire Company Ladies' Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed hosting friends and traveling all over the country, but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Scott Kulp and his wife, Betty, of Telford; a daughter, Carol Gosart and her husband, Albert, of Meza, AZ; four grandchildren, Rachel Gosart and her husband, Doug Myers, of Phoenix, AZ, Mike Kulp and his wife, Mary, of Harrisonburg, VA, Jennifer Worthington and her husband, Christopher, of Harleysville, and Doug Kulp and his wife, Kim, of Collegeville; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Daryl Kulp, who died in April, 2006; a sister, Florence Kletzing; and two brothers, Russell and Howard Stear.

 Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 14, at 11AM in the Chapel of Rockhill Mennonite Community, 3250 State Rd., Sellersville. Interment will follow in the Blooming Glen Mennonite Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Rd., Blooming Glen, PA 18911 or to Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Drive, Ft. Kulp, Isaac


GOSHEN -- Isaac Kulp, 83, passed Monday unexpectedly at Goshen General Hospital, where he had been since Thursday.

He was born July 29, 1927, in Goshen, to Christian and Emma Elizabeth (Blosser) Kulp. He married June A. Ryman on July 13, 1946, in Goshen. She passed away July 5, 2002. On June 30, 2003, he married Dorothy (Drake) Maust in Goshen. She passed Aug. 21, 2010.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia A. Byler of Goshen; a son, Stephen A. (Pauline) Kulp of El Mirage, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Dee L. (Brad) Strycker of Goshen and D. Lynn (Richard) Roderick of Madison, Maine; two stepsons, Dale Lee (Sue) Maust of Wakarusa and Dean LeRoy (Linda) Maust of Ocilla, Ga.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 26 stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-granddaughters; sister Emma Martin of Nappanee; and brother Christian Kulp of Wakarusa.

He was preceded in death by brothers Samuel, Joseph and Ernest Kulp, and sisters Susan and Mary Kulp, Barbara Kilmer and Martha King.

A lifetime Goshen resident, Mr. Kulp worked at Goshen Manufacturing and Steury Boat before retiring from Crown International in 1991. Mr. Kulp did his Civilian Public Service in the late 1940s in California and along the East Coast. He was a member of Little Pine Church of the Brethren.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to Friday's 11 a.m. service at Little Pine Church of the Brethren with Pastor John McFarland and nephew the Rev. Dale Kulp officiating. Burial will follow in Little Pine Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Little Pine Church of the Brethren.

Kulp, Robert C. "Bobby"
90, of Sellersville, PAformerly of Souderton, PA died October 6, 2010. He was born in Harleysville to William and Elsie (Clemens) Kulp.  He was the beloved husband for 70 years to Laura "Honey" (Price) Kulp. Bobby was a member of Zion Mennonite Church of Souderton, PA.

Survived by his wife Honey and a son, Robert Brian Kulp, and his wife Sandra of Ohiopyle, PA; a daughter, Laurie Gerhart, and her husband Arthur of Spring, TX; two grandsons, R. Bradley and John Gerhart; two grandchildren, Olivia and Adian Gerhart; a brother, Roy Kulp, and his wife Jean; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Kulp.

Memorial services was October 13, at Zion Mennonite Church, Souderton, PA. Burial was private and at the convenience of the family.

Kupeerus, Sjoerd
, 89, of Milford, IN died January 8, 2010 at the same place.  He was born March 20, 1920 in The Netherlands to Frank and Hebeltje (Mulder) Kupeerus.  In May 1956 he was married to Elizabeth C. Clemmer, who was born December 5, 1924 and died October 28,2009.

Surviving are a son, Gerald (Vickie) Kupeerus, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Sjoerd was born in The Netherlands.  He worked in the family business as a barrel maker and was a dairy worker in The Netherlands.  During World War II he was imprisoned by the Germans and, upon being released, made his way to the United States.  He worked at Goshen Dairy and enjoyed water boating and swimming.
 
Memorial services were held January 14, 2010 at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, IN with burial in New Paris Cemetery, New Paris, IN.

Kurtz, Catherine Elva Good
, 77, of Manheim, PA, died Wednesday, April 14, at the Essa Flory Hospice Center of Lancaster after a year-long illness.

She was born October 25, 1932 in Spring City, PA, daughter of the late Allen and Hannah Good.

Her husband of 44 years, Rev. Chester Kurtz, died in 2003.

Catherine and Chester served in Somalia with Eastern Mennonite Missions from 1962-1972. After returning to the States, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Mennonite Home, followed by employment with Visiting Nurses Association as a home health aide and later as a scheduler until her retirement in 1999.

She was an active member and involved in various women's and service groups of Landisville Mennonite Church where her late husband was pastor. After her retirement, she volunteered regularly at Mennonite Central Committee's Material Resource Center.

Surviving are two daughters, Marianne Yoder, married to Randy Yoder of East Petersburg, PA, and Jewel Wood, married to Jay Wood of West Orange, NJ; two sons, Eric Kurtz, married to Kim Bontrager Kurtz of Goshen, IN, and Eugene Kurtz, married to Fumie Sakai Kurtz of Lincoln University, PA; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; six siblings, the late Elizabeth Horst of Harrisonburg, VA, James Good of Ephrata, PA, Lawrence Good of Souderton, PA, Barbara Kurtz of Snow Hill, MD, Claude Good of Lansdale, PA, Pauline Good of Lancaster, PA, and Ernest Good of Carlsbad, NM.

The Memorial Service will be held at Landisville Mennonite Church on Saturday, April 17, at 5:30 p.m. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family. Kurtz, Catherine Elva Good, 77, of Manheim, PA died April 14, 2010 at Lancaster, Lancaster Co.,, PA after a year-long illness.  She was born October 25, 1932 at Spring City, PA to Allen and Hannah Good.  On April 11, 1959  she was married to Chester Ivan Kurtz, who was born January 31, 1934 and died November 11, 2003.

Kurtz, Elam Stoltzfus
, 86, of West Jefferson, Ashe Co., NC died April 26, 2010 at the same place from heart disease. 

He was born April 1, 1924 at Elverson, Berks Co., PA to Christian John and Elsie (Stoltzfus) Kurtz.   Christian was born January 11, 1901 and died November 9, 1999.  Elsie was born February 11, 1901 and died May 23, 1996.

On April 1, 1950 at Reading, Berks Co., PA he was married to Orpah Mae Horst, who was born July 4, 1925 and survives. They celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 1, 2010.

Surviving are children, Karen Gross (married to Joel Gross), Michael Kurtz (married to Karen Christy), Becky Kurtz (married to Paul Kvinta), and Kevin Kurtz (married to Beth Barnett), 6 grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters, John Kurtz (Barbara), Paul Kurtz (Lydia), Lena Carpenter, Caroline Plank, and Calvin Kurtz (Esther Mae).

A brother, Chester Kurtz preceded him in death.

Family visitation on April 30, 2010 from 5pm - 8pm and memorial services May 1, 2010 were at Boone Funeral Home, West Jefferson, NC with burial in Warrensville United Methodist Cemetery, Warrensville, NC.

KURTZ WEST JEFFERSON - Dr. Elam Stoltzfus Kurtz, age 86, of West Jefferson, passed away Monday evening, April 26, 2010 at his home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Plott, the Rev. Dan Hess and the Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home.
 
Dr. Kurtz was born in Elverson, PA on Tuesday, April 1, 1924 to the late Christian John and Elsie Stoltzfus Kurtz. He is survived by his wife, Orpah Mae
